Hi, I really love your art, like a LOT and one of the main reasons for that is cause you manage to get a lot of emotion in to it! I’m a traditional artist and I recently started doing digital, I have found that for some reason I can’t get the spark or the life that I have in my traditional works to have translate to digital, I was wondering if you had some advice on how to get feeling and aliveness into digitally drawn charichters? I'll be real with you it's been ages since I have drawn traditionally and I got into digital art pretty early so this isn't really something that I like... deal with actively rn (?). However I do view it as just another form of art medium to use, so I genuinely just think that this usually solves itself in due time, if that makes sense. Digital art has techniques and art styles that have no real equivalent in traditional art, especially if you use modern/advanced art programs that arent meant to imitate traditional art, so there is just a lot to test out and discover for yourself if you're new to it

It's a pretty broad topic either way imo, the only real advice I can give that might help is that I don't really recommend following tutorials too much tbh, especially if you come from traditional art. A lot of digital art tutorials are very... "mainstreamed" when it comes to *how* the art is made, as in there's a lot of people defaulting to and advising approaches that might not even fit you and will make digital art feel very restrictive when it really isnt. Aside from that... art program does matter a lot imo, not in the sense of how good they are but in the sense that it is a very personal preference and they do feel very different to use, so test out multiple if you can!

Unfortunately a lot of witch content online is very unappealing to me nowadays.. People claiming their readings are always 110% accurate, people promoting products or shops (MLM schemes) under the guise of magic, people falling victim to cult spaces and influences.. And to justify their actions they claim their gods/goddesses told them to do it in a dream or something. It's just wild, and this is so pervasive in every witch community online, Witchblr, Witchtok, and FB group, and whatever else exists.. 😬

i just will never forget when the whole tramp stamps band scandal happened on tiktok and there were people in the comments saying they knew they were plants because they didn’t have “real alt makeup.” like i get the concept of “oh they’re clearly trying to emulate a culture they aren’t a part of” but the phrasing of it just truly made me lose it. like the idea that even within spaces where you are being weird and creative and having fun and playing with style you can be judged for doing your makeup “wrong.” how the fuck is there a real or right way to do “alt makeup” my god
