I am waving my hands in the air, trying to call all the A x N fans! There's something I've been thinking about that I'd like to hear your thoughts on.

When it comes to this ship, the combinations we usually see are Ava x Nat, Ava x Nate, or Adam x Nate. And I've been wondering - there hasn't been much, if any, Adam x Nat things out there, is there? I think I remember one art piece, but that's about it. And I might have dreamed that up lol. Why is that, though?

Is it because that version of the pairing is the most likely to fall into stereotypical roles? It certainly can; the strong, stern, closed off white man who mainly opens up to the charming, compassionate, brown woman is...not great, to put it lightly. And A being the commanding agent could complicate that even more.

But there could be ways to subvert that, couldn't there? N expresses their thoughts and opinions whether A agrees with them or not, and we see them pushing back from book 1. And A has been a great source of comfort for N, it's definitely not a one-sided thing. And their both bisexual, with A being demisexual too, so maybe there could be some complexities in the cisheteronomative roles thay could fall into. Especially considering the time periods they're from. (And if you're down with PD's headcanon of N being demiromantic, that could be a thing that subverts expectations as well).

It surely can't just be because it's an m/f version of this ship, there's some amazing Nate x Ava fics out there that I read to this day.

But maybe there isn't enough there that could make a Nat x Adam pairing not feel like stereotypical? I'm not sure.

This isn't a callout or a critique or anything like that. I am genuinely curious about hearing everyone's thoughts on it. Do you think something interesting could be explored with them, or are they too close to stereotypes for you to be interested in it?

uhhh let's see. I combined some sketches I did of Nefertiti and Akhenaten and ended up somewhere here for an Akhenaten design. in my heart, it's for a comic but there's so much visual research I'd have to do before I could even think about approaching a comic. oof.

Hit a point where I'm going through the Cullen Critical tag on tumblr cause I really like Cullen, but in a fucked up way and I hate that the writers overlooked some of the more egregious things this guy did (or, more accurately did *not* do) while serving in Kirkwall

Mostly i think im mad that the writers fucked up the chance to take a guy who spent a long time turning a blind eye to and justifying a fucked up system of abuse, and actually have him held accountable for it

Instead of him just. Feeling kind of bad about it but not actually addressing it in a real way?

I mean, dont get me started on how Inquisition fumbled pretty much everything that happened in DA2 (the fact that there's no option for Hawke, Varric, or even the Inquisitor to agree with what Anders did? You can either condemn it or like... waffle around it?), but like. Cullen was actively looking the other way when Mages were getting whipped in the streets, SA'd and fucking lobotomised

The templars turned Kirkwall into a police state by the end of it, and all the writers have him saying is like "man, i feel bad :("

Cant believe im saying this, but Blackwall actually does have a better redemption arc than Cullen

had the idea of adding the glyphs from the owl house onto my denim jacket so I taught myself embroidery and did this as a first project!

here's hoping I'm not gonna randomly glow/freeze/burn alive/have a plant grow out of my shoulder I guess?

they're all about 5 cm in diameter and I personally think the ice glyph came out a little wobbly but it was my first embroidery ever and the fabric on that part of the jacket is also a little wobbly so I'm happy with the result

the lovely yellow lighting in my room is biting me in the ass rn bc the yellow and green are a lot lighter irl and the blue and red are a bit more vibrant

the fire glyph was the last one! I believe there were like two and a half months between finishing the third glyph and starting this one oops (but also yay bc the weather was amazing this weekend so I did a large chunk of the fire glyph while sitting in the sun!)

and a picture of the shoulder while I'm wearing the jacket! though normally the position of the fire glyph falls a little less front-facing (which is great irl bc that way it looks more interesting from the side and back instead of just from the front)
