Megatron x dictatorship is literally his OTP. They were inseparable for four million years. A lot of people died trying.

And basically just drops the Decepticons like a bag of vermin after he surrenders. He never once mentions them of his own accord, other than to insist he has nothing to do with them. Even his surrender speech is something Optimus makes him do as exchange b/c he wants to go on parole. He wasn't planning on making a public address otherwise, he was just going to leave them hanging.

Looking at the publication timeline, Megatron started out as an established Evil McEvilson-type villain similar to how he is in G1 and it's not until Chaos Theory in 2011 that JRo really gave him a sympathetic backstory that drew his characterization away from the bloodthirsty pugno ergo sum warlord into someone who once held ideals about societal reform and remains convinced of his own moral supremacy throughout the 4 mill years of death and war, adding worldbuilding such as Functionism/oppression/government corruption as justification for the beginning of the Decepticon movement. But because the start of the Decepticons was already written in Megatron Origins and every evil thing he'd done up till Chaos Theory can't be retracted and they had to keep Megatron as a villain until his story was no longer central to the Autobot-Decepticon war line, and JRo didn't try to downplay the atrocities he'd committed (some of the most sadistically disturbing things Megatron did were exclusively in MTMTE flashbacks), but rather tried to distance him from them and placed the focus on the juxtapositions to emphasize change, this as a whole just resulted in Evil McEvilson getting turned into Hyper McHypocrite.

Paddy & Eoin please?

Again, I'm guessing this is for the "give me a character breakdown", and, of course, I love both Paddy and Eoin

How I feel about this character

I love them both. Like, I actively adore Eoin (as much as David, I'd say), and Paddy has my heart too. Paddy is, as he says about himself, a wild dog, except he's also a deeply complex man, who has a soft side, and a dark side, and we see that Eoin keeps him on that even keel, even when he's maybe encouraging Paddy's more reckless side (I saw you grinning at your man while jumping out of that truck, Eoin McGonigal). They're a perfectly matched pair. They deserved more time together. They deserved each other. Paddy has his flaws, but he's also kind, considerate, a man with a well of emotions that he doesn't always let show, but he has these moments of tenderness, of caring (especially that scene in S2 E5 with Reg and Paddy). And now Eoin is just haunting the narrative, and haunting Paddy, and the only thing more beautiful would be if Eoin was still alive and they could be together.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

I mean, as I said about David, in the SAS:RH fandom, we pretty much ship everyone with everyone else. I am personally a fan of Paddy/Eoin/David, but also Bill/Eoin is cool to see. I know a lot of people ship Paddy/Augustin, and I can see it. Also, after s2, Paddy/Bill, because oh boy, is Bill pissed with Paddy. Paddy/Reg is always a good one too. Eoin/Johnny is always an interesting one too.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

For Paddy, probably Paddy & David. Also, Paddy & Reg, because there's some kinda bond there, and I love it. For Eoin, Eoin & Bill. Would've loved to have seen them interact more.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Gotta say that in some ways I agree with what some people have said about how Paddy is portrayed, and in other ways, I disagree. Paddy was a complicated man, IRL. We know that from all of the anecdotes about it. Do I think it's overdone at times? Yes. Do I think they could've shown more of his softer, calmer side? Yes. Do I think they needed to show this darker side of him? Still yes. I think Jack is a phenomenal actor, and I can't actually imagine anyone else playing Paddy with that depth to him, with that level of complexity. Also, fuck it, I think his accent is fine, and that's probably a very unpopular opinion. Also, pretty sure I don't have an unpopular opinion about Eoin except for the fact that that man was dirty. Like, wiping his mouth on that gross undershirt. Eoin. Really. Do better. (Jk Eoin, I love you really, but also, your undershirt looked very gross).

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Eoin not dying would've been great. Yeah, that would fix everything, honestly. Paddy and Eoin kissing. Also, them riding horseback starkers would've been funny to see. And Paddy parking a Jeep in a house and no one being able to figure out how the fuck he did it. And Eoin pointing a gun at Paddy's head and threatening to shoot him, as he did IRL, because can you imagine the tension. Oh, and nice little flashbacks of Eoin and Paddy meeting. Pretty sure all of that would fix me.

Why I Love Tenkaemaki

Hello I’m back from the dead I’ve been busy but I’m back with more Dr rants.

And I promise after this it will go back to the normal rants unless you guys like this form of content.

I fucking love Tenkaemaki that’s it that’s the whole post.

They’ve been my ot3 for a while after I stopped really hardcore shipping Tenmiko and Tenmaki became my otp and ughhhh! they’re just so ahhhhhh!

Like of course I can say that they’re cute and Maki has two loving girlfriends that will treat her like the princess she is and Kaede gets two strong girlfriends to simp over and Tenko gets two girlfriends she can protect from degenerate males even though they don’t really need her to but…

It’s also Maki having two overly affectionate girlfriends and being like affectionate ugh what is this give me more it’s Kaede not having to carry a burden by herself it Tenko caring and being cared for in return and finding true strength in leaning on others and not putting herself in danger time and time again because even though it’s a nice gesture to put yourself on the line to protect someone she has people who love her waiting for her at home.

It’s all of them not asking for help and caring for others without caring for themselves and having acts of service as a love language.

It’s Kaede sitting up all night pacing around her room waiting for her girlfriends to come back from their very dangerous jobs/ talents ready with tea and cuddles and comforting words. It’s Tenko and Maki forcing Kaede to take a break because she’s been wearing her self thin focusing on the class’s well being.

It’s all of them definitely pondering committing crimes for each other.

It’s them not having to say I love you they know in every touch every action every gesture.

It’s Maki’s bluntness and Kaede’s gentle Tenko’s hyperactive.

It’s Tenko and Maki both being so disconnected from their childhood due to their upbringing and Kaede giving them those gentle nice things they never got just so they know they deserve it and that they’re allowed to have nice things.

It’s Maki and Kaede stopping Tenko from being to hard on herself and over working herself it’s them correcting her how ever many times that it takes after she claims she’s not pretty enough not talented enough not good enough.

It’s Maki still not being used to affection after being tackle hugged for years but comfortable enough that she lets herself be hugged without retaliation and even reciprocates or initiates the affection.

It’s Kaede kissing Tenko and Maki’s scars.

It’s the group wondering how emotionally closed off cold and blunt Maki got two girlfriends.

It’s the fact they can make each other better and help each other grow in the best ways.

It’s the fact that they’re all independent and strong but have this mutual protection where no one is truly the “weak” one, but they all fall into that role for each other at times.

It’s rotating cycle of tough love and tenderness where each one of them refuses to rest until the other two do first.

It’s the “I’m hurt but you’re hurting more so I’m going to take care of you first but I know when you’re better you’re going to be pissed.”

Each of them keeps thinking they’re the burden, while the other two are the ones who truly deserve love and rest. So it turns into this heartbreaking relay race of:

“You’re always protecting us. Let us protect you.”

“You always listen. Let us listen to you.”

“You always take care of things. Let us take care of you.”

TenKaeMaki is amazing they’re so good and I just want the best for all my girls dammit all three of them deserve the world.

For the ask game I'm gonna ask for the coolest motherfucker this side of the Yugioh galaxy, my one and only wife; Kogami Ryoken aka Revolver.

Why I like them/why I don’t

Ryoken might, putting aside biases, be the perfect evolution of the Kaiba rival archetype. He is a remarkably well-written character who has one of the strongest performances in the show both in the sense of his duels, his writing and his VO. Even when he works with Yusaku and the gang, he's always doing so to push his own agenda forward and remains an unpredictable rogue element. He's one of my favorite characters across the entire franchise, to be blunt and to keep myself from pivoting into just how much I love him.

What I like about their appearance

His piercing blue eyes, the pink V-neck, that thing he does where he puts his hand on his waist and walks like a runway model, you know what I mean.

Also that second design, chef's kiss, no notes, he's so pretty. He even makes those green highlights work for him.

Do I prefer their dub names or original names?

I have never called him Roken once, and the only times I have said Varis willingly is after playing Duel Links and having it stuck in my head for a few hours after a lot of Dragon Link grinding. Performance wise I do have to give it to the sub, Daniel J Edwards does fine, but the layers that Shunsuke Takeuchi brings cannot be understated enough.

OTP

You know it's Datastorm. They functionally complete each other in a way that's near impossible to describe. You cannot have this show without them, they are the fundamental pillars on which this series rests. They are a deeply fascinating pairing who bounce off each other so well, they are perfect foils which even represents in their decks and playstyles. They should logically hate each other and yet they keep crawling back to the other for one more hit of that good shit. They would move the heavens for each other and violate almost any moral code if the other asked.

NOTP

Any of the Hanoi leaders, mostly because I think they all only deserve the romantic comfort of a sock. Also not too fond of him and Soulburner due to personal preference.

OT3

The weird post-canon situationship of Datastorm/Aiball happening at the same time is so funny to me where Ryoken has to play nice with Ai, who is revelling in that Ryoken can't touch him because they both like Yusaku too much to make a fuss.

Favourite card they use

YOU KNOW IT'S BORRELOAD SAVAGE DRAGON. The herald of his great comeback, it has a kickass summon animation and involves Revo summoning a BOLT OF LIGHTNING to flex.

Bring it back Konami, it's fine, it never needed to be banned.

Favourite moment they were in

My joke answer is gonna be in the Season 1 finale when he catches feelings for Yusaku and decides the logical course of action was to RUN AWAY ON HIS FUCKING BOAT FOR THREE AND A HALF MONTHS.

My real answer is from his first duel when he summons Toplogic Bomber Dragon and Ai calls him a hypocrite for using a Cyberse monster, to which he looks Ai dead in the eye and replies, "It's fun to fight poison with poison." Absolutely banger line but also shows genuinely how willing Revolver is to do anything for The Mission, that he'll dabble with poison as long as it suits him to.

Honorable mention to his boomer traps (always love seeing people react to MIRROR FORCE for the first time) and his comeback in Season 2 where he kicks in the roof to remind you all who the real GOAT is.

Least favourite moment

His misplay against Soulburner in their final duel annoys me enough that I have to headcanon he threw the duel. Otherwise I always thought it a bit odd how egregiously he glazes Blood Shepherd after their duel, given I think Blood Shepherd is... lame.

That's really it, like I said he's overall a really consistently written character.

Would I fuck, marry or kill them

I would marry him for the money, but he and I would both know that he's thinking of Yusaku the whole time.

The antis have been all over my posts in the last few days, so I wanted to share my experiences and write a guide on how to deal with them. 

First off: Our ships and character preferences are valid, no matter how hard some people try to demonize them. We are part of fandom and allowed to post about the things we enjoy, just like everyone else. Our fanfics, fanart, video edits, photo edits, etc. are all works of love and they deserve to exist and be explored by others. 

✨ Strategies for dealing with antis ✨

Don’t engage. I have checked the bios of all the antis that left comments under my posts, and the majority of them are minors. You don’t want to talk to minors in fandom spaces!! And a conversation based on logic or reason won’t be possible either. 

Delete their comments. Tumblr, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube allow you to delete comments, DO IT!! You created something with love and hateful comments have no place underneath it. Even if the comment just makes you uncomfortable and isn’t outright hateful, it is perfectly reasonable to delete it for your own sanity.

Block generously. Not only the people who target you specifically but also anyone who engages in character- or ship-bashing. People who do that for one ship will do it for other ships too and it’s extremely bad fandom etiquette. When you see a character or ship-bashing post, block everyone who liked it and then the poster.

Report people for harassment. The rules vary by site, but especially threats of violence should be reported. Also, if someone follows you to another social media site after you’ve blocked them, that is called block evading and you should report that too. 

When you see other people getting hateful comments underneath their posts, leave a nice comment to offset some of the negativity. Your being supportive can make the difference between this person never posting again and them being motivated to keep going. People are always welcome to send me links to a post that is getting targeted by antis and I’ll like it and leave a nice comment. 🥰

Don’t let the bad comments outshine the positive ones! Every time my post gets enough traction for antis to find it, it also gets lots of lovely reactions. Many people have told me that my content and recommendations made them ship my OTP, and that is the single thing that makes me happier than anything else. Take a screenshot and look at these kinds of comments when you feel down. This is the real reason you should keep posting. 

Most hate comments are exceptionally uncreative. It helps to laugh about it, preferably with a friend. ✨ Remember, you used your energy to create something and you should be proud of it!

When you see a creator you like, but they also display obnoxious behavior towards people who like other ships, characters, or dynamics, at the very least don’t give them a platform by sharing their posts. 

Stay safe. Don’t post personal information online. 

It’s completely valid to step away from social media for some time. Private your accounts, turn off notifications, do a canon reread, read some fanfics in peace. Whatever it takes to remind you why you love the things you love. 

Bonus Tip: Watch videos of cute animals to destress. Bunnies nose-booping each other can (and will) cure anti-induced anxiety. :)

✨ Platforms sorted by least to most toxic and my advice for using them ✨

1. Discord 

Discord is great because you can join servers specifically for your favorite characters and ships. If a server doesn’t already exist, consider setting one up! Pro tip: only invite people that have positively interacted with you in the past. A small server consisting of nice people is a lot more fun than a large server consisting of members that can’t get along or are only marginally interested in the topic. 

Fandom Discord servers have clear guidelines on what you can post. As long as you follow the rules, people have no grounds for calling you out. In my experience, moderators are quick to respond to harassment.  

When you join a server and you see they heavily restrict certain types of content, it is a red flag. Proceed with caution, even if you plan to only talk about “safe” characters and ships. 

2. Tumblr

I have rarely gotten hateful comments on Tumblr, and the few times I did they were easy to delete.  

A lot of the older fandom generations use Tumblr and they are more mature and accepting of all kinds of content.

3. Twitter

Twitter makes it easy to curate your own fandom experience. You can mute words you don’t like to see on your timeline, mute and block users, and most people have their ship preferences in their bio.

4. Instagram

My Instagram posts about Jadecest get a lot of positive interaction, even more than on Twitter. There are unpleasant comments once in a while, but they are easy to delete. 

Blocking a user will delete all their comments from your posts. 

5. YouTube

People who don’t like your ship will downvote your videos and downvotes lead to the algorithm not recommending your videos. 

I have gotten a few negative comments, but they are easy to delete. 

6. Reddit 

When you post in a fandom subreddit, everyone will see the post, independent of their ship preferences. 

There are a lot of minors on Reddit. 

You can’t delete comments.

Most fandom subreddits are poorly moderated. 

7. TikTok

I have gotten the most hate comments on TikTok. They can be filtered or deleted, but antis interacting with your video by leaving hate comments will lead to the algorithm recommending your content to even more antis. It can get very ugly. 

If you post on TikTok consider turning off comments, stitches, and video replies. You can also mark your content as 18+, so it won’t get recommended to minors. (Again, antis tend to be underage.)

Platforms are more toxic the more they show your content to people outside your bubble. Discord, Tumblr, and Twitter keep your content relatively well contained to your circle of friends. Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram heavily promote your content outside your bubble, which is good, because more people are going to see it, but also bad, because it reaches more antis.

Antis are loud and obnoxious, but it’s important to remember that they are a minority. Ship and let ship still exists, especially among the people who have been in fandom spaces for more than just a few years. Don’t be afraid to post your content and express your love for your favorite characters and ships! I, for one, would love to see your creations, and many other people would love to see them too.

Hi! First of all I absolutely love your vids, especially your unique perspective on this one of a kind tv romance.

This season is SO interesting because it is FINALLY forcing them to confront what they both want from each other. To commit to it.

She needs him to be fully into her..that means her cause, her family, her cause. It is who she is. There is no world where she doesn't see him in anything she does. He is her rock. Her selfishness to not realize that this always carries a domino effect on him is going to be the reason she feels betrayed. Because of her idealization of him being completely devoted to her ignoring the real world he faces..her "love goggles" if you will.

He just needs her to have faith in him. He needs her to fight for him. I believe his plan is the endgame. No one will have seen him coming.

They can't asassinate his character. They're put up too many seeds for him to just turn.

absolutely, i feel the same way — this season is honestly one of my favorites. i’ve seen a lot of hate and people saying they’re devastated, but i completely disagree. i think what’s happening is beautiful. we’ve never seen june and nick have a real fight before — not like this — and that was bound to happen eventually if we were going to get a meaningful resolution. if they just packed their bags and ran off to paris, it wouldn’t hit the same. this is how all real otp arcs go: there has to be drama, there has to be pain, so the ending feels earned.

i really believe june’s arc now is about choosing him loudly, without shame, without guilt. she needs to stop living by all these “i should”s — i should be a perfect wife, a perfect mother, a perfect revolutionary. it’s all weighing her down. and ironically, she was actually more free with nick in gilead — the place where no one’s supposed to be free. with him, she could breathe. now that she’s in canada, she’s surrounded by expectations and judgment. even characters in the show are starting to reflect that back to her — luke literally says “you think i didn’t notice you pining for him?” because it’s obvious. she’s trying to bury herself under duty.

even the way she talks to luke — like telling him he deserves someone better — is just her punishing herself. “i’m not a good wife, not a good mother, not a good revolutionary, i don’t deserve love.” like… enough. that’s not what love is. love isn’t about staying with someone just because they waited for you. if this is a feminist show (which it is), then it should say something about a woman’s right to choose who she loves, regardless of what she “owes” anyone. nick is the person she loves. not because he waited. not because he’s perfect. because she chooses him. that’s what makes it love. that’s the point.

If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet?: Every answer I can think of seems so trite 😭 I wish I could meet my parents as little kids to understand what made them the way they are. I’ve also been thinking about the ‘I met my younger self for coffee” trend, and I really like it because it’s a good reminder of how far I did come! I would tell that little girl that one day she’s not going to go to bed afraid. She’s going to have her own apartment with two perfect cats. She’s going to make friends that are like family and she’s going to be an auntie. She’s going to meet a community of the funniest, most beautiful and out-of-pocket creative people that love her and accept her for who she is, and guess what? They also love those vampire books where men kiss each other that we hide from mom! That she might be sad sometimes still, really sad. But it’s not so bad. It doesn’t last, one day she’ll realize that. She can go outside now. And the sun is shining.

💭 How I feel about this character

I love Reeve so much, man. I did a whole verbal dissertation about how great Reeve is like four years ago (it's still up on YouTube) because he's a fucking badass who deserves the world—and he literally gets it after Meteorfall, and does not fuck it up.

💞 All the people I ship romantically with this character

My Reeve is with Tseng, then he's with Lazard, then he's with Tseng again, then he's with Vincent, then he's with Tseng again. Then he and Tseng get married. Yaaaaay.

I also actually see him having this kind of on-again-off-again no strings thing with Rufus for a bit between the OG and AC? It's very vague and they don't actually do much, but it's definitely there. (Then Reeve and Tseng marry each other and Rufus has some problems with that. It'll be fine.)

Reeve is one of the characters I read as being exclusively gay, so I don't ship him with any female characters except in a comphet context. He may have had a sham marriage to Scarlet when they were younger for the sake of both of their careers (headcanon says they met in high school while she was transitioning and went to uni together so they've known one another for a really long time), but she got Really Weird after uni, they've long since divorced, and they never actually fucked the entire time.

🤝 My non-romantic OTP for this character

This is actually really hard because in my head Reeve has a lot of friends and he cares about all of them pretty much equally. This makes it difficult to narrow things down with him regarding platonic (or at least non-romantic) relationships.

I do really love his dynamic with Barret, at least the implications thereof. Barret hurt a lot of Reeve's people and Reeve hurt and manipulated Barret in return, but at the end of everything Reeve still knows that Avalanche is going to find him in Midgar, and Barret still recognizes Reeve as the bleeding heart behind Cait Sith. What a great relationship.

🚫 My unpopular opinion about this character

Reeve is a badass. Rufus is not the secret puppetmaster leader of the WRO—Reeve is the man in charge, and he's going to stay in charge for as long as he feels he needs to. Or until he's dead. Reeve is the most benevolent dictator Gaia has ever seen, but he is, in fact, a dictator. But he's good at it, and he's so benevolent that most people don't even seem to notice, so it's fine.

🌟 One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

I really want to see him get found by Avalanche during Meteorfall. I want to see how that happens. I want to see him running around organizing the evacuation effort, directing people to safety, ordering Turks and Troopers and SOLDIERs here and there and everywhere to save as many people as possible. I just want to see more of him being the excellent leader that we know he is.

Also more Tseeve crumbs would be nice but the two we got from Rebirth is more than I ever dreamed, so I don't want to get too greedy here.

she's an icon. obviously. very very reserved (she never talks about her life), but still incredibly funny and sweet. smart = stressed. she has strong mood swings that leave you perplexed, and only her friends can understand them. very messy and extremely tidy at the same time.

all the people i ship romantically with this character: 

james, TRANS LESBIAN BARTY, sirius (but only if he thinks lily is cheating on james with him but in reality they have an open relationship).

my non-romantic OTP for this character: 

lily/mary/marlene = THE trio. i want to say lily and remus too but actually remus has no personality in my head (poor boy). lily/dorcas: dorcas is extremely cheeky and really cruel with her (she often hurts lily), but always helps her when she needs it. lily and severus!!!, after hogwarts, in a strange attempt to become friends again where severus continues to be an asshole to the boys who hit on her (not with her friends anymore, he regrets it) because HE HIMSELF wants to go out with her, and she treats him badly because she's not nice anymore and he deserves it cause he was a bitch. it seems like torture but their friendship works that way, and it works.

my unpopular opinion about this character: 

she doesn't hate her name!! she thinks it's cute, she would never change it and she loves when her friends joke about it. she has several t-shirts with lilies printed on them.

So maybe he purposefully made the ending terrible and didn't give it the time it deserved because he's planning a super secret epilogue series or something....

Favorite thing about them: Well, she starts out as nice girl, and even after her dark turn, she still has a sad, pitiable aspect to her.

Least favorite thing about them: Nothing much. Just that she becomes a dictator who strips the Munchkins of all their rights, just so she can force her unrequited love object Boq to be her slave... and then tries to enchant him into loving her when he tries to leave her... and after she nearly kills him by accident and Elphaba is forced to turn him into the Tin Man to save him, she refuses to take responsibility, but puts all the blame on Elphaba... In short, she becomes more of a real villain than her sister ever is, and it's more than just propaganda that makes the Munchkins sing "Ding-Dong" after her death.

On a meta level, real-life wheelchair users have argued that her portrayal is fairly ableist. It's taken for granted by everyone, including herself, that her disability is a terrible, tragic thing, and her ultimate "Freudian Excuse" for becoming a villain is basically just her misery over being disabled. I only hope that Part 2 of the film version does a better job of fleshing out her character and avoiding ableism than Act 2 of the stage version does, especially because her screen actress really is disabled.

Three things I have in common with them:

*I sometimes have low self-esteem, as she does when she thinks it's because she's disabled that Boq doesn't return her love.

In fact it couldn't have been, because unlike her sister, Nessa doesn't fly on a broomstick; she never learns that spell. If in Wicked canon, Dorothy saw a witch during the cyclone, it was Elphaba rushing to try to save her sister after seeing her vision of the flying house, only to arrive too late.

Favorite Thing: he’s so caring. He’s such a kind person and he’s helpful and he’s beautiful.

Least Favorite Thing: this is hard because I love him so much that it really hurts to say but maybe that time he held Jesse up by the neck pretty much unprompted and I did a really disappointed face in his direction. Sometimes Wrecker really backs up the batch (*ahem* Crosshair) when they’re being dicks and I just don’t really vibe with that.

Favorite Line: "The cavalry has arrived!"

ALSO I’m sad that the writers had Lula become less Wrecker’s stuffie and more Omega’s. What happened to the little trooper doll?? That could’ve been the toy associated with her and Lula could’ve stayed just Wrecker’s I’m so sad about it. I’m so attached to the idea that Crosshair made Lula for Wrecker and I don’t like thinking of it becoming someone else’s 💔
