So was dragging my self through work today due to insomnia haven't gotten any sleep in over 30hrs and was stressing over a few packages that got delayed by bullshit logistics.

Bunch of factors teamed up today to put me on the edge bright spot was Pandora served me up a recently released country song I really really liked, checked the artist and immediately started calculating EXACTLY how long Id been up for cause my sleep deprived stressed out mind set refused to believe Post Malone released a country album that slaps.

Legit thought I was so tired my eyes were blending letters together or straight up Hallucinating my brain just locked up left me just standing staring at my phone then back up to squint trying to push out the sleepiness and read what artist I actually was listening to.

watched the musical demon show (don't wanna name it so this post isn't in the tags) at the behest of an IRL friend and i can already tell this is going to be a piece of media where i absolutely cannot stop thinking about it, not because i really love the show as-is, but because it has so many individual components i really like and find incredibly fun or compelling, and i'm so frustrated that it doesn't come together for me

i think the main thing i can say about it as a show, setting aside some of the insensitive choices that were made that i really don't feel qualified to tackle or talk about, is that the entire thing sort of gives off this vibe of someone really excited to show you every single oc they made in high school and college and i very genuinely mean that in both the best and worst ways possible

there are some good hooks for season two though so i will absolutely give them that

idk if this is something people already do but recently i found it helpful to just focus on writing when i get in a writing mood instead of writing my reply and then taking a few minutes to search for a suitable gif. instead, i'll just put "[ gif ]" as a placeholder and focus completely on writing. and when i'm done or need a break, then i'll take the time to find gifs and queue the finished posts. i find this helps a lot with making writing less clunky ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ

I never expected it, but - from all the stories, it was Agneas that probably got to me the most. And it's not even her overall story, I'm more of the angsty-Octopath story enjoyer myself.

But the whole theme of Agnea wanting to step in her mothers foot steps, who she lost when she was young and now doesn't know if she can live up to her legacy. And then she travels and hears stories about her, meets people who could tell new things about her, getting closer to her. And then everyone at the end reassuring her that she truly is her mothers daughter - as someone who lost their mom too when they were young, that hit really close to home.

How am I only just now getting that Persephone in Hadestown the musical is like. So her husband Hades is the company town CEO who works everyone to the bone but Persephone participates just as much by selling the workers happiness (which in the literal sense is booze but in the metaphorical sense is sunshine, moonlight, flowers—the things she’s the goddess of but which also bring people happiness). Like Hades is the one actively crushing people but she’s the one keeping them there in the infinite downward spiral of capitalism. it’s SUCH a good metaphor
