Sukuna is a human trying to play games with Gods. His power is false and those who know it do not even care enough to point it out. They see Sukuna as nothing but a blip on the map that is their world. His power is given, and any power not earned can be taken away. Unlike the Gods he emulates, imitates, he did not forge his own abilities in the heat of a dying star. He did not build his strength in ichor and ash. He fought well and was graced by a Devil who used to be an Angel and given a gift. Power from a higher being without contract is a dangerous thing. Any Curse knows. But Sukuna was young and greedy and thought he was powerful. He accepted and did not point out that no one ever asked where he got such abilities. Never thought of the consequences of using his gift in ways that did not honor his benefactor. Sukuna was a human who did not worship the God who gave him his status. He will regret it.
Thinkin about an AU where curses are people who have been cursed/blessed by the gods to give them power because of their actions.

Black Whale, 12.5x12"
I tried quilting for the first time! It was super fun and I learned a lot. It's nowhere near perfect but I'm really proud of it!

During yesterday SAG-AFTRA press conference a journalist asked:
“What do you say to the fans and consumers that aren’t interested in the strike and just want to see their favourite tv show?” (or something along these lines I don’t recall the precise words)
And Fran Drescher responded with:
“Well, what makes you think they are not interested in what’s happening here? I think that they have an allegiance to all of us because we bring joy and entertainment to their lives […] so I don’t think that your assumption that they don’t really care about anything but being entertained over the summer is the bottom line” and proceded to say how this corporate greed can extend to all fields of works and how we understand that
AND WE DO UNDERSTAND AND WE DO CARE!
I love her so much for this! It makes me sooo mad when the assumption is that, as a consumer, I don’t care about people who make something that I love, because I do, we do! I know for a fact that people in fandoms care so much about the people involved in the creation of every aspect of their favourite piece of media.
Stop infantilising the audience! We are not whiny children and we understand the complexities of this moment. I am sooo happy that she recognised that.

i love how illumi and hisoka are freak by nature x freak by act. like hisoka could 100% be a normal person if he chose to be one day but illumi couldn't act normal even if he tried
Hisoka is the guy that makes a conscious effort for people to perceive him as a disgusting freak every single day but Illumi doesnt even have to try. he just is. he exists and people are weirded the fuck out by him. Even hisoka agrees too like 😭😭😭😭

Okay, so I haven't watched all of FMAB yet, but I love how Ed is so fucking oblivious. He got a gorgeous girl, way smarter than him and out of everybody's league, who plays with the cord of the telephone when they speak together because she's down bad and laughs softly when he talks. And he's like "yeah, yeah, well, I am glad you're alive haha I thought they were going to brutally fucking murder you today. So that's a relief. Bye, super best friend in the world" and hangs up like the moron he is. But not only that, because well, they can't see each other so I get he doesn't notice the crush in Winry's voice, BUT LING?????? Dude has been with that prince inside a guy's stomach and has carried him around and cooked him his boot and yelled at him for giving up because he can't leave somebody as ambitious as him there without accomplishing what he wants, and then he says some gay bullshit like "Ling is still in there" after looking at Greed's eyes ONCE. One thing is not realizing a girl is crushing on you but Oh my God Edward for fuck's sake get a clue and realize you like men-

okay so the main criticism i've been seeing against episode 8 is that beelzebub (among other things) is "too nice" to be the sin of gluttony, because she's an attentive hostess, because she expresses worry over blitz's excess drinking, etc., and i wanna talk about it.
the thing is, i feel like this complaint is rooted in the most basic, somewhat cliche idea of the sin of gluttony, and a somewhat boring approach to bee's character in general. the idea is that, as the sin of gluttony, bee should be encouraging over-indulgence, excess, and the self-destructive aspects of party culture and drinking.
but she's the queen bee. she clearly explains that she can feel the "energy" of everyone at her party, and i think that's very important to analyzing exactly what gluttony means to her. instead of indulging in food and alcohol and drugs and being selfish (as gluttony is generally expected to be about), bee feeds on the ENERGY of the demons around her. and in order to get the best energy she can, she needs to be making sure everyone is actually having FUN and having a good time. gluttony, in this sense, is about EXTRAVAGANCE, having the best quality of everything, rather than just everything in general.
i also think this is why she was so put-off by blitz's actions. when he chugs the entire barrel of alcohol and then is absolutely wasted beyond all reason for the rest of the party, he's NOT actually engaging in her sin. he's not being gluttonous; he's not drinking to have a good time or to indulge or to have fun - he's drowning himself in alcohol because he's trying to forget and ignore all his problems, which is a sin much more akin to pride. his energy feels bad to bee because he's not having fun, he's deeply hurt and trying to distract himself by being self-destructive, which is NOT what her sin is about.
(also, remember, this is supposed to be part TWO of the finale. meaning, this episode (and the introduction of bee's character) directly goes hand-in-hand with the introduction of asmodeus, who's entire club IS about indulgence and depravity and everything you'd expect from the sin of lust. bee and the gluttony party are meant to be a direct foil to the energy of ozzie's.)

My controversial opinion about Hob Gadling is that I believe he’s absolutely the sort of guy that “puts things behind him”, and tries to wash his hands clean of the things he feels icky about. This is implied pretty well in the show, with him blithely moving from soldiering and robbery to printing, from slaving to… whatever it was he was doing in the 19th century instead. That being said, this is not at all the same as actively trying to atone, or even making a concerted effort to be a better person, and I really wish fandom could tell the difference!

envy’s death might just be my favorite scene in all of fullmetal alchemist?? it’s so brilliant every time i see it. this evil character who has done nothing but harm has such a heartbreaking end. envy, who looked down on humans. envy, who finds joy in the pain of others. envy, who could never understand human foolishness. he was jealous of them all along. and he couldn’t handle being understood by the same beings he was envious of. and in the end, he’s crying!!! he is the one who destroys his own philosopher’s stone, because he can’t bear being understood by what he loathes so much, and he can’t let himself be killed by them. in the end, unlike the humans he was so jealous of, he wouldn’t keep fighting. he gave up. he’s the opposite of his brother greed, who accepts his true desire for friendship and connection, and leaves the world feeling content. instead envy is cowardly and leaves the world in such a miserable and sad way.

Everyone's always complaining like, "oh, men only write women as shallow damsels in distress" and "oh, women only write men as personality-less wish fulfillment"
So I thought I'd point out two of my favorite examples where this is not the case.
Full Metal Alchemist and Spy x Family
I like them because Arakawa write male characters like this

And Endo writes female characters like this

And I think its neat

always funny reading early hxh where togashi was trying his damn hardest to bait the audience with parallels and moments where killua directly relates to hisoka being a weird immoral murder monster (even physically separating him from gon, kurapika, and leorio for a majority of the exam) and repeatedly revisits the idea of killua betraying gon almost begging for us to be holding our breaths over it. only for killua to be the gayest wettest cat ever constantly yearning about keeping him safe and being together. like nice try motherfucker
