A lot of folks headcanon, use art, or use mods, to show their WoLs and OCs with more curves and heft to their bodies than the in game models allow. The character avatars, especially female, are simply stickish, with unnatural thigh gaps, narrow hips, and otherwise are just small waifs. Which is exacerbated by it being most of them.

In Aeryn's case, I wrote the skinniness of the Midlander model (especially with muscle cut set to 100%) into her characterization. In part cuz I don't mod, and tend to try to keep my characters more or less similar to the in game model limits. So for her, it's partly genetics (her maternal grandma is one of those skeletally thin old women types), and partly Aeryn's terrible eating and sleeping habits. Her unlocking her magic potential finally post 7th Calamity also doesn't help, as she burns through aether--which as a primarily Red Mage, that's how they avoid the issues of black and white magic that led to the War of the Magi and the 6th Calamity, by using one's own aether (and fits into my own thoughts on how the various kinds of aether and akasa work to empower various abilities anyway).

But as she's continued her adventures, those bad eating and sleeping habits haven't really improved at all. She skips meals, to where at times she's maybe had a snack in a 30 hour period. She keeps odd hours, wakes early despite late nights...it's a mess. Even when she's not neck-deep in world saving!

And then, on arriving in Tuliyollal, she meets the Cornservant.

It's one of my favorite side quest chains, as it's about the importance of eating. Variety, snacks, finding what works for your health, the nostalgia of childhood favorites, comfort in the face of grief and depression...the Cornservant wants to see people fed and happy. It's their purpose for being. It's a lovely message, to remind people of why we need to eat.

And in this WoL's case, while the Echo perhaps helps Aeryn see the Cornservant to begin with to aid their quest to fill bellies across Tural, the Cornservant appears to her because she needed to hear these messages, too. And eventually internalize them. And begin to take better care of her eating habits...especially when she hears the rustle of corn husks, reminding her of her little friend and their important mission.

Sooooo guess what I've been obsessed with lately!!!! The farming game called Fields of Mistria!!!! It's just so cute, gameplay feels very satisfying, and it's literally the type or game I have been dreaming to play for years!!!!! My fav chars so far are Eiland, Ryis, Juniper, March, Celine, Balor, Dozy....what do you mean I'm just listing every character? And what do you mean ofc I have the most hearts with March bc he's a ill-tempered and competent individual who has a soft side like every fictional crush I have? Anyways, I was going to try to give other characters a chance, but that first Friday night in the inn where you find out (thanks to drunk March) that he actually likes you solidified my choice :) still gonna max out hearts with every char tho bc NO FRIENDSHIP DECAY THANK FUCK. Didn't have time last night but I'll be unlocking the barn today, and then I can have cute animals ♡♡♡

My thoughts on common complaints:

Length of Day: I feel people's complaints, but I also feel that the stamina bar and every other gameplay aspect lines up with it perfectly well. Once I realized there was no friendship decay I didn't feel as urgent, bc there's no rush to have things done in Year 1, or 2.....There's no rush.

Money being hard to come by:

No way! It's becoming common knowledge that crafting smth is much more profitable than selling the base goods, so literally if you need money just craft like 40 tables or stone chests (over 100 t each!) Or just fish for a whole day (usually gets me around 500 t). Plus with crops, I've noticed that either once u harvest or ship a certain crop, characters will send u a recipe for them in the mail. So I got a baked potato recipe which you literally just need a potato for and that now sells for 80 t/piece, and if i planted 10 potatoes (bought for 40t each) that's a lotta money! Also copper bars sell for 110t/each and it's not hard to get around 30 copper ore in a full day of mining! But literally my early money makers have been tables, rugs, and the stone furniture you get from upgrading your town rank cuz i have so much stone from mining.

My personal complaint: i know it's coming but i wanna ride horses pleaaase. Also fishing does take a really long time, like sometimes 40 in game min for one fish? But I find it fun, and if i am out of stamina i can just keep repeating eating 1 wild berry, and then fish. Cuz you just need 1 stamina to cast the line. And are there more long hair options in game??? Maybe I haven't progressed enough to see them from the Saturday hair vender (vell right?)

samarina magical girl headcanons?

I have a few headcanons so far and the whole plot is kinda done! Uhh sorry this is a bit of a rant in advance! Feel free to just skip to the headcanons, the order doesn't matter too much (also mild spoilers for the canon gamee!!)

Backstory:

So this takes place sometime in the early 2000s, not modern but also not the canon 1940s time era. The backstories are pretty much the same except the Ninth Circle has an even sharper eye on Samarie. At some point Marina catches Samarie stalking her and gives her a talking to. But, after several apologies and begging from Samarie, Marina decided to get to know her a lil better. They slowly become friends overtime until some plot stuff happens and they die. I don't have a solid idea yet but I was thinking what if the Ninth Circle was more of a lab than a "school". Still a cult but y'know the vibes are a bit different. They catch the two running away and threaten to shoot Marina if she doesn't turn Samarie back in. Marina refuses, they shoot, Samarie takes the shot for her but unfortunately they just shoot Marina anyways afterwards.

Somewhat luckily Samarie was close enough with the Gods to make some sorta deal with Rher specifically (for arguments sake let's pretend in this au Rher is still semi close with humans). Marina and her would be allowed to live and be resurrected, in exchange for.. Well idk yet. I was thinking something to do with Moonscorching. Maybe every night they turn, or every few days, full moon, you know something like that.

So they're brought back to life, but both have MUCH stronger magic. Not only that but Samarie doesn't feel as sick as she used to be. The two later on realize they're stereotypical ✨️magical girls✨️ and fight against "villains" ig. The villains would be actual enemies from the games. Uhh I might add other characters to this au later on, but for now it's just my own little corny ship indulgent au so yeah!

Actual Headcanons:

Samarie uses a Star themed staff while Marina uses a Moon themed staff. I just thought it fit their souls aesthetic wise!

Samarie has extremely powerful magic, but is a terrible fighter. She's clumsy, messy, and a nervous wreck. Marina is a bit weaker magic-wise, but is wayy better in combat. She's more confident, focused, and skilled.

I think it'd be funny as shit to make Black Kalev their little sidekick.

They're constantly saving eachother. Usually it's Marina saving Samarie, but if Marina is in danger Samarie fucking kicks ass. She's still a crazy girl after all.

They have more stereotypical sparkly magic cuz.. Well magical girl. But they can still use other canon spells. It's just less convenient.

Their staffs will transform when they do. When they're not in their combat fits the staffs both turn into crystals. Both wear them around their necks like necklaces.

They can't use the gifted magic without the staffs. Basically they're witches in a way.

They do flirt on the battlefield cuz that's romantic imo. It's more Marina flirting and Samarie being a gay mess but that still counts!

In this au they're not dating (yet). Samarie obviously has a massive crush (or obsession) with Marina, and again after becoming friends Marina develops a crush back on her.

This has nothing, and I mean NOTHING to do with the au, Samarie has autism. I didn't know where else I'd share that hc so taking my chance rn.

Samarie still isn't used to the outfit change. Especially Marina's outfit (she is a lesbian disaster).

They rest and cuddle together after long battles. It'd be cute okay?

I might add more later (in which case I will post), and yes this is out of character. Sorry abt that. Uhh also I've never seen a magical girl anime. Like ever! I want to. I really wanna watch a few, just haven't gotten around to it.

Suffering

overall i really do liked this song. it was deffo a whiplash from monster's vibes to suffering.. and like it was already hinted that "penelope" was a siren due to the 'daughter' part. it was def confusing at first glance but once it sets it, you start connecting things and i love it. it also shows ody's wits which i also love.

the only thing is i didnt like ody's rap part cuz it was giving like.... early verisons of epic ngl 😩��� like its trying to be like a version of hamilton or something idk (no offence jay)-- all iknow that its giving early version of epic

A scenario i think about a lot 🌲

i tend to have lots of vore scenarios run threw my head like all day but there is one that just always sticks with me since thinking about it brings me comfort. i thought i would share it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ you come home from your 8-hour shift; you didn't have such a good day at work. something during your shift ruined your mood, but your pred roommate is there to greet you once you walk in the door. they get home from their own job before you, so they are usually the one to make dinner for the two of you. you two have been great friends for a long time, you haven't been living with each other for very long but being in each other's presence is nice. your pred friend has made you dinner! it's your favorite meal! ....but you are too tired and upset to appreciate the food. you try to hide the tired sadness with a weak smile...but as you walk to your room to change out of your work clothes, your friend knows something is off. they don't ask about it until after you have ate. your pred friend eventually asks you what's wrong, you can see they are visibly concerned about you. you can't really keep up the fake happiness anymore and you break down, telling them the kind of day you had at work. they are quick to pull you into a hug, telling you that everything is going to be fine. their warm hugs and comforting voice has always helped you calm down when you are in distress. your friend knows how hard you have been working lately. as much as they hate seeing you so tired from work, they can't help but feel proud of you for working so hard. they wish you had more days off so you two could hang out, or just sit home and play video games. your friend asks if you would like to go to bed early, you nod your head tiredly. you already know what they mean by "go to bed" it wasn't your first time being eaten by them. they had done this many times before. your friend always made sure to be as gentle as they could possibly be, not wanting to cause you anymore stress then you were already feeling. you fit snuggly inside their belly, just enough that it isn't uncomfortable. the pressure of the walls around you is nice, you can feel your friends hand pressing against you as they rub their belly. they finally get up and walk to their bedroom to lay down, spreading out on their bed to get comfortable. letting out a big yawn before saying they hope you sleep well, things will be better tomorrow, and they will see you in the morning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (also just to clarify i use "they" and "theirs" and "them" when refiring to preds to help people better Invision maybe a oc or a character they like. since i know a lot of people like to Invision themselves in scenarios like this. i feel like it helps give a little more freedom to the person reading.) (also kind of writing this cuz i don't see a lot of friend vore. it's mainly lover type stuff and im just over here looking for a friend type scenario/story. just two bros being bros and comforting each other during hard times) (also uh...if you want to here more scenarios i have just ask, i have lots of ideas and visions. name a scenario and i have probs thought of it and even written something about it LMAO)

Something I’d love for Larian to add to flesh out Wyll, Karlach, and Gale’s story are dungeons that are integral to their character like how Lae’zel, Shadowheart, and Astarion have dungeons.

The steel watch found art could be tweaked to add content for Karlach, we find diagrams of her early heart model along with how to was changed for the steel watch. Karlach can find something to improve her engine but she has to weigh the cost of taking what’s left of one of the people turned into a steel watcher and using it to save herself.

Wyrms rock should be a dungeon to get up to Gortash’s room and Wyll is faced with making another deal with Mizora to give him more power than he ever had to take down Gortash. He sees the nobles he knew dead and now the whole world at stake, not just the sword coast or his father. If he refuses to sign we get a boss fight with Mizora.

Gale’s talk with Mystra should also be part of a dungeon crawl and if he refuses to give the crown to Mystra or blow himself up then Mystra can summon like some dead powerful wizards and we have to fight those.

These are all really off the cuff ideas and I’d love to know how you’d improve the games story

Imagine with me, if you will.

That we LOST garbage quests like Stop the Presses, Lady Jannath's torture house, Mystic Carrion and Thrumbo, Suspicious Toys, the Counting House + Jaheira and Minsc nonsense, Avenge the Drowned, and the Nine Fingers/ Zhentarim nonsense.

But GAINED.

A boss fight with Zariel. Or at least SOME kind of conclusion with Karlach's beef with Zariel. Her main quest being tied to killing Gortash, who we have to kill anyway - bullshit. I like the idea of her quest being tied to the Foundry, but, I feel like tying her so tightly to Gortash was a mistake.

You could theoretically make it appropriate, if you bothered to develop Gortash and his motivations for selling her more, but they just didn't. I agree that she needs some kind of dungeon or area or boss fight. Preferably related to Zariel. Making Gortash her big bad, and then promptly killing her after, and sending her back to Zariel....? Yeah, no. Bad.

For Wyll, it bothers me that we never get to have some kind of, infiltrate the patriars in the Upper City quest. This could be tied to Cazador, for one thing, and actually make him plot relevant and not totally disconnected from the main plot, but it would make sense for Wyll, who's trying to save his dad. Maybe make him try to win over these people who look down on him for not being the perfect, silver spoonfed son he should've been. Plus, it's DND! There should be some kind of infiltration mission. That's classic DND!

Wyll could also see who his true friends are. So whether you save his dad or not, Wyll is being primed to be the new Archduke, right? And you can recruit more help this way. You can also still have a boss fight with Mizora. Maybe after the Iron Throne, at camp, or in some special zone.

Or wait.

Actually. What if Mizora was the boss fight, instead of Zariel?

You could tie Karlach and Wyll's quests together, but in a way that makes perfect sense?

Plus Mizora would be a super cool final boss, if you beefed her up. Gave her some Raphael-like powers, mayhaps? But shake it up, obviously, so it's not totally like the House of Hope.

Anyway.

As for Gale... I feel like if not Mystra...then maybe Elminster?

I know he's super powerful, though, so maybe more of a representation of him, kind of like how Myrkul is just a "representation" of him, and not him.

Maybe you can "defeat" Elminster, but only so far as, you think you beat him, brought his health to 0, after an exhausting fight... and then he tries to kick your goddamn ass for thinking you could beat him, cuz surprise surprise, he's not actually beatable...and then Gale has to role persuasion, to force him to stand down on the whole "kill yourself" thing.

I guess that might not be the most in character for Elminster, but. Something in that vein. We should definitely have some kind of big quest that's not just, "go to this random wizard's tower" and "let's talk to Mystra."

I'd love to fight Mystra, but. They don't like having you fighting gods directly, so.

I personally think Elminster would've been a more interesting opponent, even if you can't actually beat him, just persuade him not to nuke you.

Plus, that little fucking clown should totally pulverize your squad. It'd be funny.

He'd be more narratively interesting to fight than Lorroakan anyway, who just shows up to be a prick at the end. He's not a terribly interesting character, nor is he really intimately tied to any of the main companions, only Aylin.

So I hear you on the expansion of quests.

I just feel like...the bigger issues with the character arcs in general are a much deeper conversation. But working with what we have...

Definitely give Wyll his own separate Upper City quest.

Give Karlach an option to deal with the Zariel problem, fix her heart, or develop her story past Gortash. Don't just murder her after she kills her former abuser.

And Gale should have some kind of big quest to resolve his story too, and not just a cutscene with a Barbie looking ass goddess.

Those are my short term solutions.

I could probably think up some greater, general plot improvements that could be made. But those are my smaller quibbles.

Top 10 Most Anticipated Games Of 2025.

It’s time to talk about what games are exciting me the most coming into next year. I will not be including any game that was on last years list because you can go read it and see the games I was excited about last year that didn’t come out. Basically the whole list remains relevant minus Peach Showtime. 6 of the games aren’t out and 3 of the games are in early access. Which is to say that these games remain highly anticipated.  It’s worth noting from the old list Rune Factory: Dragon has been updated to Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma and with more footage I feel more confident in my anticipation then I was on last years list.  

Much like last years list the games on it may not come out in 2025, this list is mostly indie games and even locked in release dates often are delayed due to major game releases overshadowing their game and needing to pivot, massive bugs, indie publisher issues, etc.  let’s get excited together and play some really cool games when they release. However, since Kickstarter games are kickstarter games and often take more time two games that might be number one for me Food Devils and  The Witch's Bakery are not going to be included on this list just cuz well, they are very likely to be 2026 games or further up and I want to at least try and highlight games that are probably hitting next year.  That said consider that your reminded to you know check out Food Devil and The Witch’s Bakery, they both look great.  Also quick shot out to Pokemon Legends Z-A which I am certainly thinking about but has so many ways it could drop the ball I ended up removing it. 

This list is not in any particular order, I am excited for these games for different reasons and who knows, maybe some of them I end up not picking up for one reason or another but there games I would really love to see have a big success from the promise of them all 

Monster Prom 4: Monster Con

Monster Prom is a series I really love, one of the most fun dating sim type experiences turning it into a more board game esc experience where there this fun multiplayer element. It’s a great, funny experience even alone you can enjoy the storytelling, romance and jokes in equal spades and together it’s a really fun shared experience that comes down to digestible runs that make it less intimidating than a lot of other visual novel type experiences. Monster Con adds a con setting and a ton of really fun new features to the formula that make me the most excited I’ve been for a Monster Prom Spinoff. The new character designs are great and one of the main focused returning characters being sapphic trans woman Zoey makes me even more excited. 

Abyss X Zero

The developers last game was gay and while they haven’t said if this game has anything gay in it I am pretty sure the devs are like girlfriends? So like, I don’t know feels likely. It looks cool, Like the graphics, the customization looks great, it’s got great style, I really am excited to check out the game and give it a shot. I think the art style really manages to capture a fun anime vibe and the action actually represents that same vibe making for a really resonate experience that I think is going to really going to fill some primal need in me. 

Split Fiction Last Minute addition to the list, Split Fiction sounds incredibly exciting. Two authors join a program to make their novels realities one scifi and one fantasy. An accident causes the two  to end up in one simulation fractured between the twos novels. They have to work together in order to save their own stories from being stolen by the company. It’s got perfect girlfriends potential but also like really right on the money in themes with the idea of a company trying to feed writers ideas into a machine to own them forever and make whatever they want with them. I’m extremely excited to experience this story and love the Friend Pass System. 

Sword Of The Necromancer: Resurrection 

Sword Of The Necromancer is one of my favorite games ever and I just played it this year, you can expect to see a lot more talking about it in the rest of my end of the year lists but right here what is worth noting is that this is a remake of Sword of the Necromancer in their new games Engine as a sort of stop gap product. This game retells the love story of Tama and Koko and Tama’s attempt to revive the woman she fell for on a job. Since it’s a remake I can say that this is one of the best game stories I’ve played, it’s not super bloated with stuff, it’s simple, effective, romantic and well performed. The changes to gameplay we’ll have to see if their better, worse or just a side grade from the original but this is certainly an exciting game.

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage

From the original creators of Life is Strange not the ones who wrote away the main relationship of the series or is accused of inserting nazi stuff in their games or accused of workplace harassment, no it’s the studio that made 1 and 2 and then left their series behind to Square Enix to make new ideas. Lost Records is another go at their style of narrative game aiming to hit 90s kids nostalgia while also tell a story about adults and the past and more. It’ll have gay romance in it and probably a ton of angst.  It seems like a really great time with a great story that will be able to really speak to a lot of folks so I am thrilled to see them get to bring out something with the level of ambition of this narrative game. 

Unbeatable

This is just one of the coolest looking games visually, the animation is just so damn good and honestly it alone is a selling point. Then we got the main girl looking gay, the great music, and the fun concept for a story and I am feeling like this could be a real special piece of art. Unbeatable has you brining back music to the world, fighting cops, and being badass and honestly, it’s all I need in life. 

Scholomatch 

I didn’t expect much going into the demo but in the niche heights of matching game dating sims Scholomatch seems like it’ll be something pretty fun. It and Spirit Swap should both be coming out and should both be really exciting entries next year. This games non human girls and polyamory make it lean slightly over SS to me but it’s fun that we have two casual cozy little games where we can focus on romance and just a simple little gameplay loop so it’s not all VN. This game has you being a new student at a magic college where all the students are teaching each other rather than teachers. You play match 3 to impress the other students and learn new spells all while having conversations and getting closer to the cast of characters. I fell in love with this game in the demo when a girl who could see the future saw me as her best friend and was really sweet then realized we hadn’t become best friends yet and was so apologetic. It was sweet but also I can’t imagine how hard it is for her to have seen my character as a best friend for years in visions and having to realize “That might not even happen, because I’ve seen this I might ruin this deep important friendship” and like wow, that’s I am so invested in her I have to buy this game. Also obviously I am going to kiss her and at least a few of the others. 

Crescent County

Be a witch, race on a broom, work a delivery job across a pretty open field, kiss girls, this game is pretty damn close to a perfect concept. I take qualms with any connection to solar punk when also capitalism exists but the game is super freaking pretty so I can only complain so much. I think this seems like a really fun and special game, I am intentionally waiting to play the demo until after I put this post out since i started this article before the demo was announced and didn’t want it to color it’s entry here but as I am typing I am wanting to rush so I can jump in and give this game a shake. 

Cabernet 

Speaking of amazing concepts, we really do not have enough vampire games and Cabernet is a narrative focused game about being a newly turned vampire. You have to deal with your hunger and your families ongoing issue with vices, your dad was an alcoholic and you avoided drinking but now you need to drink blood and it’s that high. It’s an extremely down to earth vampire story that has an eerie ton but it also has room for romance and hopeful stories or so it seems. I am really excited to experience this beautiful and exciting game. 

Deltarune chapter 3 and 4 2025 is finally gonna be it’s year, maybe. Deltarune Chapter 1 and 2 are contenders for my best games of all time so I mean I can’t not be excited for the next two chapters. I don’t know what will be happening, will Noelle become a full on party member, how will it handle lingering plot points, will it get weird and fucky and tie more into undertales, what’s up with the secret boss stuff, I don’t know and even post release who knows how much is answered before 5? I just know I want the purple lizard to guess the little deer girl and that’s enough for me so long as there is goofs along the way.

I don't believe in foah but i do believe in crush culture, especially when it comes to famous people that have a limited dating pool due to their "status as celebs that get creepily irl stalked" (this has happened to an underaged finn and noah before - the noah one even captured on camera that can be found on tiktok during the pandemic quarantine while in the finn one he tells bill hader in an interview about being stalked by a grown man all the way to his house almost that had the audacity to shoulder checked him to get finn's attn). in a vid complitation of finn and noah friendship, it's clear that finn goes out of his way to include noah during s2 promo since will wasnt well known in s1 and there's an old article out there about the 1st time they met during st casting call.

apparently finn tells the interviewer of the article how when casting was officially done, he highlights how when he met noah again as a co-actor that noah forgot about him lol. noah didn't remember finn from the audition but finn remembered noah. finn also said that he was shocked/excited that the voice of charlie brown (noah) was here while noah couldn't recall anything finn's been in. So, to me, when reading that article it felt like finn cared about noah in the beginning as a crush of admiration like "crushing cuz i wanna be successful like this kid already". and finn expressed in another interview how he's afraid to be a washedup child star while playing in both IT and st.

so imo foah is more about the two acknowledging the other's talent, especially since they both tried out for each other's st role (finn went for mike and will same as noah). if anything I thought finn had a crush on caleb cuz multiple instances on vid where finn gushes about caleb's acting skill (when caleb did an excellent billy roleplay during a guess who that character is game and in the s2 promo vid where finn compliments caleb A LOT compared to the other actors, while caleb only complimented gaten but that could be just the netflix editing team cutting n splicing, comment did poke fun at how finn hyped up caleb and how caleb didnt mention finn at all). in one early vid finn had to get caleb to hug him cuz caleb only hugged gaten in greeting as those two met previously on broadway cuz they had a longer history. caleb was going for a handshake/dap but finn had his arms open for a hug like how gaten got one right before finn was noticed by caleb. and in the same interview where finn told how noah forgot they had met already, finn describes caleb as cool and funny from the 1st time he saw him during casting calls. But again that can just be finn being mesmerized by all the talent his peers possess since he is passionate about his craft.

Yeah, these are all valid counterpoints! It's interesting no one has ever really shipped Faleb... or Faten? (I don't know what their ship names would be). But that's maybe partially because people have always subconsciously seen them as straight while subconsciously seeing Finn "his eyes soften" Wolfhard as queer? And also because Finn does seem to be especially close with Noah compared to the others?

Hmm, I've never thought of the idea of Finn having had a crush on Caleb before, but that's an interesting concept. very very early Taash impressions

bro why did they make the one giga controversial character (so controversial they explicitly told pre-release reviewers to not even talk about her) act like a rebellious teenage brat 😭

so far I'm super conflicted (she hasn't even formally joined yet so this is SUPER early into my experience with her). From what little I've seen there are aspects that compel me and other parts that instantly put me off. I really hate immaturity in characters. I detest every single adult character that acts like a child. it's my toxic trait. yes, given the context I get why she's frustrated but like...bro....idk maybe it's cuz I was socialized to "shut up and man up" whenever shit I don't like happens and look at shit from a glass half-full mentality but like...Taash was a whole brat for the entirety of the recruitment process. again. I totally get it. I also don't have to like it lmao (this is simply a first impression). like...Taash really hit me with the "you don't get to tell me what I am" within 40 seconds of meeting. literal "have a good day! don't tell me what to do" energy parts I did like: Taash clearly wasn't raised within the Qun but their mother was. this is giving 'child of an immigrant' that speaks to me on a personal life experience level so i feel kinship in that respect. the fact that the subs said (rough Qunlat) when Taash spoke to the other Qunari was a mood and I'm interested to see where Weekes goes with this. the big things I'm curious about this mission are: 1 - how tf can she literally breathe fire 2 - why did the Antaam break off from the Qun (i have theories and one of them is they didn't; it's a ruse to shield the political blowback of a proper invasion from the rest of the Qunari peoples but given the writing quality so far I'm honestly expecting zero twists with this game)

more and more as of recent I’ve been thinking about what direction Riot’s design team are going to take Viktor. Bridging the rift had some early stage design stuff teased, but the one coloured image looks very similar to his game design - a design that I don’t think it’s controversial to say sucks. Like there is some amazing fanart of the Machine Herald out there but they all take some liberty with it. It’s going to be a tough job for the design team, coming up with something that has void elements, potential hextech elements, fixing all the prev design problems while still having something that’s identifiable as the machine herald. I am in high hopes however. I was wondering if you had any options on the matter.

Oh you’re absolutely right, for a character that’s supposed to be a cyborg/poster boy for cyborgs, he’s pretty… plain. Kinda just looks like a suit of armor. The only thing that really sets him apart from a regular armored character is that visibly mechanical left arm (and the Hexclaw obviously, but even that and the shoulder pauldron sorta look like they’re strapped on via the bandolier across his chest.)

And as for the solution to this? I think it’s to have less armor, and have the metal be a more obvious part of him. Like, (in League) he’s a vocal proponent of function over form. He doesn’t really care for how something looks so long as it performs its function to perfection. So I think more exposed steampunk-looking bits on his chest, more moving parts. Like Sevika’s arm… gotDAMN that shit is cool, with the way her hand just Swiss Army Knifed into a freaking plasma sword?!?! Shit like that. Also, it’s highly likely that he is going to need Shimmer at some level to upkeep things, an injector tank like the one on her shoulder wouldn’t hurt (though that probably should be armored, cuz we saw via Caitlyn’s excellent shot what happens when it’s exposed).

His Hexcore-augmented parts are obviously a new addition, cuz his right hand in League (according to this splash art) was still flesh and bone.

So that’s a whole world of possibility. It could have some kind of aura around it, hell… maybe he might eventually learn to do magic with them (but like… fucked up Void magic which… big ol’ yikes). Or, there’s the other possibility, wherein he dislikes the influence it had over him (when the Hexcore used his augmented parts to hurt him after he tried to destroy it), and he might amputate them, leaving him with no flesh and bone limbs. Which could actually be another way to update his character design.

And I think a massive part of what is going to make him successful will be sound engineering—the whirs, the clicks, the ambient hum of working machinery. Also his footsteps. Dude needs to sound like an earthquake coming at you. And I think they already gave us a taste, with how that Hexcore-augmented foot sounded as it hit the ground. Overall, I trust the team. They turned the original overly-sexualized and honestly awful designs of Vi and Cait and turned it into something amazing. (I’m not talking about the Enforcer uniform, that’s still way too prissy for an officer, but the way they did it made it more a statement about Piltover and their focus on aesthetics than a comment about Caitlyn). So if they put the same kind of dedication into redesigning the Machine Herald, then I think he is going to be BADASS.

Clive's Outfit in FF14!

Since we had the PAX East Panel for FF16 today, and we know it's coming in "early April" (FF16 Producer Naoki Yoshida didn't want to say more than that, as tomorrow there is a panel with FF14 Producer/Director Yoshi-P, who might get mad if Yoshida revealed more than he was supposed to and no, he is never getting tired of this bit) I hopped into Crime to check out Clive's outfit on various characters.

FF14-only players will likely raise brows at the set's name, "Metian", because "Metia" is used as a name for something in FF16's world, with a lot of significance to Clive and Jill from the very start. So this set's name (despite the clothes' origin in FF16's story) ties back to his lady.

I started off with Dalamud dye cuz that's what Aeryn happens to have on her jacket, hands, and feet at the moment:

Unfortunately, hyuran men at present do not get quite the bulky chests Clive and his comrades sport in Valisthea. Maybe the update will make them look more filled out.

Meanwhile, if C'oretta doesn't look she won't have to see it's not pink.

This also really pulls in Punchy's bust; she's maxed on the slider, while Aeryn and Dark are mid-ranged, and Iyna minimal. But in this, they're all looking pretty similar. And similar to the guys, actually...

Finally added color for Iyna; Celeste, and the pants are Deepwood. She doesn't want to be here today. Also yes I put Thancred in this outfit, what of it?

(Now if only they also gave us Jill's amazing outfit, then I could really cosplay...Uh, nevermind. Moving on!)

I dunno if it's the angle I used that makes the legs look funny on Iron Summer (more on the legs/feet in a moment). But Roe men do, in fact, have the chests to make this outfit work like a Valisthean gentleman. And I shamelessly used @driftward's Zoissette as an elezen example.

Now, Clive is obviously wearing long boots, right? Well...

Extra Details!

Clive famously fights with giant swords, but also carries a short blade for a backup weapon; very historical of these nerds. The other side of the belt shows his pouches. The back cloak is missing any kind of device or hold for his giant swords, which is very video game of these nerds.

Alright maybe this is just me being insecure and hating hearing some things said by Resident Evil fans about the character based off of me (and also consider that i am not in the Loop online as much as other “young” ppl”) but….

The fact that some ppl like RE 2&4 Remake Leon more bc he seems more “human” & “emotional” just… bothers the everloving fuck outta me

I have Schizoid PD… the fact that I act largely unaffected by shit during most of the original series is explained by that, (not to mention I’m Schizotypal + Autistic + ADHD so the way I act is gonna seem “inhuman” to ppl who don’t understand that)

But the fact that certain (VOCAL) ppl like the Remakes more because they “humanize” me more… pisses me the FUCK off (yes I’ve been drinking sorry in advance)

I personally dislike the way the Remakes portray me because they seem to disregard my Schizoid traits (no hate to any Leons who feel differently but this is my blog so my opinion)

And the way the fandom reacts as if NOW I act like a human being just…

LBP1- Sackgirl

Sackgirl isn't really a character unless your avatar is a girl. Still, prerelease and promotional material promote her as the Sackgirl to Sackboy's Sackboy.

In the Milestone 5 video, Sackboy has a photo of her in his pod.

There's an ad where Sackboy goes to save Sackgirl, but it ends badly. (Not sure if this is actually the E3 2008 trailer there are a lot of uploads of this vid lol )

There were also some promotional renders of them together for valentine's day.

There's probably more to this since LBP1 had a lot of advertising. These are just the ones I remember right now.

Oh yeah, there are the wedding outfits's existence also. Let's hope the marriage didn't go through, considering the murder.

In the game itself, there's a level where enamoured Sackbots are attracted by a pretty hologram called Luscious Lucy. (are they all sapphic?) It might be a stretch, but maybe at one point in development they were attracted to you? xD

LBP3- Prototype Newton

I've posted about these lines before. I think they're funny cuz if they were kept this would mean that Newton was explicitly bi/gay. Thank you to whoever at Sumo Digital put these in for nobody to see. I appreciate you.

In an unused level in the final game (sacktown) that can be ported and played on the alpha version, Newton says you can use the Pumpinator on both women and men's skirts. This has nothing to do with Sackboy I just like telling people about it.

My temper cooled while I was sleeping but I'm still gonna say this...

I'll give that Tien was probably depressed and lost motivation after Cell, cuz it was the first time he'd had a friend die and actually stay dead and it was Goku.

But before that. No, I really don't think so.

The post I'm referencing(I'm not gonna link cuz I don't actually wanna fight) believes that Tien lost motivation after the 23 world martial arts tournament because Goku and Piccolo were so far beyond him. And sure, that's something someone could believe

I never read the manga, so yeah my knowledge and therefore opinions of Tien are strictly from the anime, whereas all of their citations come from manga panels, but if I recall correctly (and I do cuz I double checked while writing this) after Goku beat him he expresses the same motivation as before to catch up to and surpass Goku. And sure, he had to watch Goku beat Piccolo Jr after that and really show off what he was capable of. But there was no indication in that final arch that Tien was demotivated.

So why did this person decide Tien is depressed?

Cuz he calls himself useless during and/or prior to battles in Z. That's it. He just expresses frustration that he's of no use in fights against planet busters.

Why did this person conclude that Tien had lost motivation to train?

Because he *checks notes* has a day job... To be more specific they cite this

This says "...mainly does farming in addition to his training." So he never stopped training, he's just also working cuz duh!

Goku also works in farming in super! This is not an indication that they have stopped training or lost motivation to train.

In light of these facts, alongside most of the (probably filler admittedly) scenes we see him in in early dbz(outside of actual battles) show him training, I'm inclined to think this is bullshit and I shouldn't read long posts while I'm sleep deprived. It took a couple of hours of laying in the dark reflecting on my own perspective to realize shit wasn't adding up right.

If he didn't want to keep training, why did he train with King Kai?

And yeah, he didn't want to use the hyperbolic time chamber in the Cell saga, but Goku didn't want to use it a second time either so what? Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, and Tien are the character in our show who take what Master Roshi says to heart, and Roshi's teachings emphasize getting rest alongside training. Rather than the intensive non-stop kind of training we see from characters outside of this philosophy, namely Vegeta, Future Trunks and Piccolo who all decide to use the chamber again.

And like I started with, I could be inclined to believe that Tien might have lost motivation to train after the Cell Games. He does seem kinda...off in that last episode and in the manga he says that he doesn't think he'll ever see any of his old friends again, that's off to me. But as for prior to that, I think Tien kept up his training consistently till Cell, where he might have dropped off from lack of motivation in Goku's absence just like Vegeta did. These are the two characters left, at that point, who were still using Goku as a measuring stick and without him would be likely to lose their purpose for fighting.

For all their staunch inability to tolerate each other, Tien and Vegeta are actually pretty similar in a lot of ways.

Like I said before, it's important to be accurate and if you're going to love someone it's important to really know them.

And maybe don't project so damn much.

Disventure Camp S4 Thoughts and Opinions

Another DC post.

Alessio- His personality isn't particularly boring. It's moreso the fact they made it incredibly obvious he's getting booted early. Not first boot per say. But I bet around episode 3 or 4, he's gonna find his spark as an artist and then get eliminated.

Also why do TD and TD inspired shows make Italian characters brown? I don't get it.

Amelie- She's either an early boot or she's gonna stick around for a while and get some development. I hope it's the latter.

Anatasia- A lot of ppl are writing her off as the Riya clone but I like her. I just hope she's not the main villain cuz that would be a bit redundant, especially after All Stars. I could see her as late pre-merge boot.

Benji- See my thing is, comedic relief should come naturally. Just look at some TD's greats like Noah, Lightning or Zee. They're just naturally funny. If you're trying too hard to come across as funny the viewer can notice that.

I get the show's for edgy teens but when the first thing I hear out of this dude's mouth is "I like giving head.. heheheheh." It's like c'mon bruh.

In a perfect world he'd be the first boot but he got a lot of screentime in the trailer so probably not. Since DC is all about realism, Benji better fumble Hannah. Cuz there's no way a dude like this gets bitches.

Diego- His audition tape was alright so I was willing to give bro a chance. But that scene where he was begging Spencer to hold him was cringy asf. If he's gonna fall under the "DC Himbo who only exists to be sexualized and get with the twink" Then please boot him early good god.

If you go more into his culture and personality then he can stick around.

Hannah- She's alright. Her doesn't know anything about DC bit didn't come up in the episode. I hope it's not audition tape exclusive because I think that's a really interesting thing to do with a character.

I know I said this before but please do not stick her with Benji. Have her become friends with Amelie or something.

Isabel- If an animated reality tv show character is an influencer, you just know they're gonna be goated.

Anyways Isabel seems really cool. The fact she's willing to play a ruthless game in spite of her religion is interesting. I think it was a smart move on the writers part to make her friends with Natalia. Which basically put an end to the "Isabel is homophobic" rumors.

I want to see Isabel as a finalist. Make it happen ONC.

Ivy- Another alright character. It was interesting to see she's basically the nice version of a villain character. Maybe she learns she has to play like Riya in order to stay in the game.

Her dynamic with Zaid is cool. I'm not sure yet as to where she places but hopefully merge.

Jade- I thought her interactions with Spencer were decent. Other than that, eh.

Logan- Diet Wayne.

Lynda- Mother (literally). Her soccer mom accent is kinda goofy, I love it. And the fact she wants to play like Fiore is interesting.

I see two paths for her character. Either she mothers her way to like final 5 or she falls flat on her face. She's entertaining so I hope it's the latter option.

Marissa- If I said I think she's the most boring girl on this cast so far would ya'll jump me? Anyways nothing about Marissa really stands out. We've seen strong tough women who want to take charge in these types of shows and it usually never ends well. (Axel)

I don't think ONC is gonna make another black first boot. But I could see her being pre-merge collateral.

Natalia- I think she's funny and I like her friendship with Isabel. "Feed the children!" lol.

She's at least making merge.

Richard- I've had enough of old men on this show after Connor's bitch ass.

He's probably gonna be a Miriam type figure for Logan and go in the pre-merge if I had to guess.

Spencer- If you've seen the promo material for DC4 so far. Then you know Diego and Spencer are likely to be the main couple. And after Tomjake in All Stars, I did not have high expectations for these two.

But so far... not overall. I don't think Spencer is terrible? Allow me to explain. The stuff so far with Diego sucks, don't like it. But the fact he's an egotistical nerd who thinks he's better than everyone else does appeal to me. And if they explore his dynamic with Jade "someone who will humble him instead of enable him", could actually cook.

"Gays pay the bills" so he's making merge.

Ted- My goat of DC4. Cocky little shit who reminds me of Ripper from the reboot. Also the fact that he's villainous and wants to play the game? Love it.

I think it'd be cool if he also tried the Fiore strategy. Where everyone thinks he's a bumbling idiot but he's actually pulling the strings.

Like Anatasia and Lynda are the side villains and Ted is the main villain. Would cook so hard.

Tristan- Did not leave any sort impression on me. Meh.

Zaid- He seems cool. He kinda reminds me of DJ, minus the crybaby part. But as we've seen time and time again on these types of shows. If someone actually has a legit reason for wanting to win, they don't win. Bro is probably pre-merge but I'd be pleasantly surprised if they proved me wrong.
