okay so imagine you’re in a relationship and your partner suddenly drops off the face of the earth, and their sister admits to getting rid of them via major head injury so she could take their place in you guys’ start-up business instead, but you just kind of have to let her bc the higher ups say so

then about two months pass and suddenly your partner is back! and their weird sister was evidently telling the truth; they don’t remember anything about you or your shared business plans, and also they’ve got a ton of new friends and a new s/o in tow, and they’ve just finished killing your third business partner

so now the two of you are on opposite sides of a war and your (ex?)partner is actively hunting you and their sister down to stop the plan for world domination that they helped create!

what i’m saying is that gortash is essentially the hallmark movie love interest that got left behind, and i think he deserves some credit for being as normal as he is about it

Okay but hear me out, both Durge and Gortash looking at their first heist together as a test.

They have things to steal and messages to send, sure, but more than that, they’re testing each other.

Can the brute think - can the politician fight?

And at some point, they notice that the other is watching them and likely has been the entire time - and that in itself is a point earned

Gale telling Durge that he's sure that Durge would have people to invite to their wedding is ofc Larian half-assing things, but it's funny to hc that Gale just had an oopsie social interaction where one says smth kinda weird/incorrect and then later realizes that it was weird/incorrect but it's too late to correct now. However, Durge takes that as a "you should invite someone to our wedding" kind of expectation and tries to comply. Family members are absolutely out of the question even if they weren't dead or a god he hates. And outside of Bhaal's temple, Durge is pretty sure he had only one friend. But he was apparently a very good friend. And Durge has Gale's resurrection scroll that never got used. Death's not a problem yeah. Perfect solution yeah.

And this is how Gortash gets tossed from Bane's torture session into Durge's accidental torture session where he gets invited to the wedding of his ex that he's still very much into

again just realised I never posted this here but! a few months ago I made a gortash replacement mod for Stardew Valley as a desperate act to romance him somewhere... I'm still really pleased with the art so ig it's prime time to show him off again <3 I based it off of my own post-canon au but I kept his lines vague enough in case y'all would like to play around too!
