this is an older ask thats been sitting in my inbox but i wanna use it as my opportunity to talk about benny while im still fnvposting bc BOY do i have thoughts about benny and BOY do i have a story for you guys

so as i briefly mentioned before, i had decided to do the yes man route before i even played the game bc i just wanted to play for him at first lol. i didnt know how closely tied yes man was to benny before meeting him- my main 2 goals were "get that bastard who shot me" and "find my robot boyfriend" lmao

when i got to the strip and confronted benny, he convinced me to go up to the presidential suite and told me he'd meet me there- ofc this was a trap, but with a good speech check (like i said, a good speech check makes for some of my favorite moments in the game) i managed to convince him to let me go . i dont even remember what i said (i think it was something like "if you let me go i won't follow you") but i remember he was like ".....i cant believe im actually letting you live" and in that moment i was like Ohh im in this fuckers head now

since then ive been imagining this semi-homoerotic rivalry between us, a la tom and jerry or cooper and propeller knight lmao. he skipped town immediately made a run for the fort (obviously. him letting me live didnt mean he was done trying to take over vegas) and i ran after him bc. well i needed that chip too lmao . when i got to the fort i found him captured by the legion, and i finally had the opportunity to talk to him at length.

after learning his backstory and motivations, i realized, i dont actually hate benny nearly as much as i thought i did? like he's an asshole for sure, and he will always be the guy who shot me in the head lol but like, he wasnt like... evil yknow. i realized i saw a lot of myself in him- he's just one guy who took a look at the world and realized he didnt like any of it, and wanted to change it... but he's also only one guy. it felt like we started out in the same position, and he lost his way at some point. he kinda epitomized my own (in-character) fear that whatever i did with new vegas after taking over wouldn't be the right decisions to make. and god i felt bad for him

so i tried to let him go. twice lol . i went out of my way to find a stealth boy for him like he asked, but he was a stupid asshole and activated it immediately when i gave it to him and then we both died dfkghk so i did the bunker mission and went back to caesar and he was like "ok you can choose how benny dies" and i asked if he could be let go and he was like "haha youre funny. choose something or we're crucifying him" and i was like Okay Okay Sorry

if im being completely honest i felt bad for benny like this. i'd usurped his plans embarrassingly easily, and now he's tied up and on death row because of it. we'd had our exchanges in who had the upper hand, but i didnt wanna just kill him like this, it didn't feel fair. so i told him to fight me in the arena, and he was like. amused by the idea? and we got our stupid machetes from the legion and fought and it was clumsy and messy bc im not good with melee and he's just an npc but there was something kinda perfect and human about it

and then i got the final blow on him. and my game froze. it froze so bad i had to force shut down my pc . the next day i turned it on and guess whose copy of fnv was completely busted! like loading any save or starting a new game would immediately crash the game kind of busted. and then i went to open yes man and SOMEHOW his data was entirely wiped . and i was CRUSHED because that's!!! that's the reason i started playing fnv to begin with!! i put a month of play time into him!! i'd maxed out my relationship with him!! i didnt know if i could even get that progress back!! but i had to go to work and i couldnt stick around to find out!

so i spent ALL day on friday anxious and sad and worried i wouldnt be able to fix things. it took me all weekend but i did eventually get everything fixed (extra special thank u to yes man's dev for helping me w him). but i swear to god i was convinced this was all somehow benny's doing. the game had frozen on a frame of benny mid-machete chest stab, and it was the last thing i saw before all of this happened. after our extended cat and mouse game, after all this back and forth, it felt like he was fucking me over one last time from beyond the grave and beyond even the limitations of the game. i took his life, he took my yes man. like seriously yes man was literally the only other program that was affected by the crash, it FELT targeted lmao

when i got the game working again, i had to replay the sequence where i killed benny and it didnt crash when i killed him this time. actually seeing him fall to the ground dead was oddly both cathartic and painful. i took his belongings (which felt kinda disrespectful but im sure he'd have wanted me to lol) and i left the fort wearing his suit. i gave yes man his gun (maria, which i love that he named, the loser)

i dont think benny was Right (though i dont think anyone in this game is meant to be entirely Right lol) but i also think he had the right idea going in. he's equal parts inspiring and a cautionary tale and i hate him just as much as i love him. he might be my favorite character in this game. i'll miss you, you asshole

this freaking prismo sweater is killing me i have about 5 inches of rows and have spent. so many hours. so much unraveling and redoing and buying new yarn and unraveling and redoing . but i think im finally at the point where im like Making Progress and not getting to the same row before realizing i fucked something up or if it changed something itd look better 😭 like lowkey dont wanna make this a sweater anymore just a wall hanging thing but i a prismo sweater would be sooooooooooo dope i gotta keep going (*´-`)

i had to get a different light pink yarn bc the color i ended up getting in the same brand as the others was too light . and ofc the like specific shade of pink i need just doest exist in cotton yarn (at joanns or michaels or hobby lobby) so i had to get the closest thing in a different brand of cotton yarn and its thinner than the others. thought it wouldnt make a big difference so when i got to that color change i just went with it, 5 rows with it im like yah. not gonna work. tried making the stitches looser. did 5 rows of that. didnt like it. tried doing the three strand yarn hack thing but it made the stitches too bulky. so the solution i arrived to was rolling a separate ball of the yarn and tying the two ends together to make a double yarn 😭😭😭 this has been going on for so many days but its finally right. ive finally done it.

you know what ? im gonna write the basic plot for soogas backstory here now too-

- his parents were both sheikah soldiers serving the royal family, they were nearly never home so he barely even knew them and was pretty much living on his own from a young age on

- they both died while on a mission far away, but that didnt change much for him other than him having to find a way to earn money himself now

- when he was a teenager he was recruited by the royal family (he wanted to tho) which is also where he met Hibiki (my only real zelda Oc .. sorry gotta involve them now- this is how they look, although they are older here than when sooga first met them

i think i forgot to post this on tumblr lmao; anyway they are an artist and a bit older than sooga)

- since they were both outcasts with no relatives that cared about them they quickly became friends (tho it was def more one sided at first bc Hibiki is a way more extroverted ) tho Hibiki has been a bit longer in the army so they rarely went on missions together and only hung out during breaks or when they had both time off

- even after years of training they both stayed in the lower ranks of the army and never managed to climb to a higher one, part of the reason was that Hibiki didnt do a good job of being a spy, not bc they were detected, they just never had much information to report for some reason and Sooga always defended them when they got bullied by higher ups for it (you know how he threatens ppl) which in turn made him less liked and got him almost kicked out once (and yes, Hibiki did have a crush on Sooga but he never realized that even tho they made it REALLY obvious)

- you know the story how link got appointed as zeldas bodyguard ? with him deflecting a laser from a malfunctioning guardian to protect the princess ? yeah, so in my hc, while he did deflect it it didnt straight up hit the guardian back but rather was simply redirected and although Hibiki tried to pull Sooga away it still hit the left side of his face which is how he got that big af scar and lost his eye

- he survived and of course Hibiki was there to take care of him whenever they could, but the more time went on while he recovered it was made clear that the higher ups wanted to kick him out of the army after his wound healed bc they didnt think he was fit to fight anymore missing an eye (thats what they said but it was pretty obvious they just wanted a reason to get rid of him) 

- Hibiki reassured Sooga they would do everything they could to convince them otherwise bc they knew that all he ever wanted to do is be a strong and respected soldier serving the royal family, but who would listen to the worst spy in the whole army .. he got kicked out anyway of course and was forced to work as a farmer (more like help other farmers really) 

- from then on Hibiki was trying to be a better spy, so they could earn enough respect to maybe get the army to welcome Sooga back into their ranks

- but one day when Sooga returned from some field work he noticed a new grave at the corner of the village, and asked who died, it took some time for him to find out it was Hibiki who fell in battle bc after they left the village they never returned so the other villagers forgot even their name, the army brought their body back into the village since they were borne there and didnt have any living relatives

- that was what pushed his resentment for the kingdom and the other sheikah over the edge really, he stole some ancient hidden away sheikah scrolls from the elder of the village and used them to teach himself some techniques ... or at least TRIED to, the only one he was able to manage was a half functional clone, which he used to fake his death and live a live in the shadows, staying away from settlements out of fear of beign recognized

- he made his way into the gerudo desert where he never went to before, and in a cold night snuk undetected into the yiga hideout in the search for shelter since he wasnt equipped for that kind o extreme weather .. tho he didnt realize what he just did

- in the morning he was found after all and, understandably, attacked bc wth how did that guy even get in here ?? after he managed to survive for pretty long given the circumstances, he tried to flee but was stopped by master kohga himself, and while kohga was monologing about .. stuff, Sooga realized this might be his chance to live a proper life again and that pretty close to what he always wanted, so he promptly asks to join them

- positively surprised kohga of course cant just accept him into the clan like that, i mean Sooga was wearing sheikah clothing and got UNDETECTED into their hideout and took a nap there for several hours before being found, thats suspicious as hell

- after being put through several tests and challanges he is accepted into the clan after all-

- now fast forward post calamity (just a few years tho) the topic of Soogas origins comes up and he tells kohga alot but is interrupted bc koh ask him if the friend he was talking about was “a kinda weird artist” ... turns out Hibiki died in a clash with the yiga clan and ... was killed by kohga himself.

- Hibiki always carried a sketchbook in a bag around with them, and the clan took it after their death bc they thought it might contain useful info, it didnt, but since the sketches in it where pretty good they kept it anyway even if it was only half readable since it got soaked in blood

- that is a reveal that tested soogas loyalty to the clan like nothing else could (everyone in the clan including kohga, was expecting him to turn against them again, but were still waiting for him to actually betray the clan)

- sooga didnt turn on them tho, reason was, he managed to seperate the pages of the sketchbook that were stuck together from blood and discovered finely detailed art of the hideout, of its interior too and even of kohga as well

- Hibiki never had much info to tell their superiors bc they snuk around the hideout when on a mission but never with the goal to rat the clan out. they secretly admired kohga and the clan, even wanted to join them for a long time, but never got to do it bc they didnt want to leave Sooga behind but also .. they were afraid to tell him bc he was so focused on becoming a good sheikah soldier they were sure he wouldnt feel the same; they were torn between wanting to join the yiga but afraid of destroying their friendship with sooga ..

when they got into that fatal fight with the clan, kohga didnt even attack them with the intend to kill and they could have easily dodged or parried the hit, the reason they didnt was, ironically, bc they were so stunned by admiration of seeing their idol right in front of them they didnt move a muscle until it was too late...

this got longer than i thought, maybe i went into too much detail here, but anyway this is a summary of the backstory i came up with for Sooga, it doesnt end here tho, this is more like the story of how sooga became part of the yiga; after all of this comes alot more tho it wouldnt make much sense to add that here too xD

Pairing: Poly!Bts x M!Idol!Reader

It had been a month since M/n ran from Bts and things only seemed to get worse. Not that he could tell, he was sat in a constant melancholy. As the days passed by practices added up and then came the issue of scheduling, the company didn’t want to clash with anything that Bts was doing and create issues amongst their artists; oh if only they knew.

This brings us to where M/n is now; in a meeting, Bts and himself along with their managers all cramped into the board room “Honestly, it’s fine...” M/n began, feeling his bags get heavier at what was just suggested, “If we need to bring the release date forwards then please do” A murmur of conversation and concern filled the room, M/n’s manager and Bang-PD conversing amongst themselves, the same happening with the members of Bts. M/n could feel their lingering stares on him, making hiom want to go home and crawl into bed like he did a month ago; what he didn’t realise was that they were stares of concern.

Bts had noticed the solo artists deteriorating frame and state. He was looking pale, doing nothing to hide his shrinking frame and bags that pulled at his eyes. Long forgotten was their hatred of the male, the only thing they felt nowadays was concern. They had talked it out one night after finding Jimin crying to himself on the sofa one night. He felt as if his absolute disrespect and unreasoned hatred towards M/n had caused him to get into the state that he was in; they spent the night talking it out and figured that all of them only felt the way they felt towards him was because of a wrong first impression. They had first met M/n when he was preparing for his first debut, as a new artist this was causing him a great amount of stress and made him anxious and bitter. 

Soon, the meeting came to an end and they watched as M/n almost sprinted out the room to the practice studio he was allocated. They wanted to stop him but couldn’t in that moment; so they followed him instead. 

When they arrived at the door to the studio, they could hear the beginning notes of his title track, then a strangled groan. This set off alarm bells in the heads of the members so they shoved the door open to see M/n on the floor gripping his ankle.

“Seriously? give me a break...” M/n groaned out, tears welling up in his eyes, “Pulling the release date closer and my ankle goes on me? Just what I fucking needed” The members watched as he hit himself in the head before clambering up off the floor, turning back to the mirror. That’s when he noticed them. “Come to “wish me luck”“ M/n seethed out using air quotations, “I don’t need it, I’ll be fine...”

“But you’re not fine, are you?” Jimin questioned in a quiet voice.

“I told you I’m fine!” M/n grunted

“You’re not!” Yelled Yoongi, “Anyone could tell from here.”

M/n scoffed “And what would you lot know about me struggling? You don’t even know me!” He yelled stomping off to the table his phone was on, visibly limping with his hand scratching at the base of his throat.

This sent waves of pain through the group. M/n was right in some ways, they felt as if they didn’t really know him. But they did know when he was in distress “Hyung...”

“Don’t-”

“Just listen to us!” Jungkook interupted, “We’ve known you since your first debut!”

“I think we’d know when you’re struggling” Hoseok continued.

“Just let us help you...” Taehyungs words barely reached the ears of M/n they were so soft.

“And if you don’t, we’ll do it by force” Jin finished out. This caused the most incredulous look to sprout across the solo artists face, which quickly turned to anger.

“Do it. Make me.” M/n dared.

And they did. They dragged him from the practice room and to the medics room and called his manager; he was looked over by the medic who then told him it was a grade 3 ankle sprain and that he needed to go to the hospital.

He was taken to hospital and put in a short leg cast what he would be in for 2-3 weeks. He was told to stay at home and given crutches to get around; but he wasn’t lonely, no no. The members who had called attention to his injury decided to visit the solo artist whenever they could, forcing their phone numbers on to M/n so that they could text when they couldn’t be there. It wasn’t long before the hatred they all felt was a thing of the past.

These foreign feelings made M/n feel weird, whenever he was with any member of Bts, his heart would ache and his ears would go red whenever they got too close. He couldn’t help but smile whenever he got a text from someone telling him how their practice was going or how they wished he could be there so see whatever stupid thing had just happened.

After 3 weeks, M/n began his physiotherapy to help restore strength in his ankle and was out of his cast but put into a brace and given one crutch to get around on; he still wasn’t allowed to practice, much to his annoyance, but he was allowed to go back to working on the musical part of his comeback. This he was thankful for. The very next day, M/n headed off to the building he was so accustomed to, crutch under his left arm and bag of treats in his right hand. 

His destination was the practice room that belonged to the seven men who had comforted him over the 3 weeks that seemed to drag on. M/n fumbled with the door handle but eventually managed to open it, his sight being greeted with Jungkook, Hoseok, Jimin and taehyung in a dogpile while the other members watched on. M/n watched with a fondness in his heard before a cramp in his arm forced him to adjust his crutches position, the rustling of the bag of treats alerting the members to his presence. All heads turned to him, making M/n squeak at the sudden attention.

“Hi...” He greeted in a meek voice

“M/n-Hyungie!” Jimin yelled out from in the pile, scrambling with the other members to get up, “Your cast is off!” 

At the news, the members began to crowd around asking him all the questions from how he was doing to what his physiotherapy was going to be like. The feeling of suddenly being crowded by the people who cared so much for him made M/ns ears turn firetruck red and his cheeks to be tinged with red as well.

“I!” He squeeked out, “I- I brought snacks?”

and yes, social anthropology is the same as socio-cultural anthropology but its just a different name i suppose. it is kinda intimidating, in the sense where there’s always a million different aspects of something to think about and to consider whenever you’re talking about anything, nothing is ever just as it is which gets a little frustrating sometimes bc its soooo open-ended haha but its definitely super interesting because of that! and you’re right, it’s super close to psychology too! a lot of my mates do like... soc. anthro with psychology or choose psych modules bc it ties in a lot with the main module, which is really cool! i think psychology is super interesting too, and some days i really wish i’d chosen it as a major instead hahaha

but omg noo my brain isnt incredible, i just really enjoy maths and so physics naturally as well, i wouldn’t say chem and bio were difficult subjects for me, but i just found them so boring compared to the rest that i never wanted to try 😭😭

- Any who AGREE to sign. I dont think this is asking too much. If ur working for a government agency, if ur using force in any way during ur work, I think its fair to ask you to give them biometric data. And if its only so in case there is an investigation afterwards (which their always should be imo) its clear distinguishable who was where and did what.

- Also, what if someone suddenly decides "something happened, im changing sides, imma take revenge" (no matter if its a concious decision or brainwashing 👀)? Would probably be good to have some data and perhaps be able to track them. If its managable or not- hm. But theres no harm in giving that data if ur only goal is working towards a safer world.

Yes the UN would know ur threat level- and that would be bad why? Are you planning to attack Them? If not then no problem. If ur a level 1 you also dont want to be on the front lines against an alien invasion for example- better help evacuate non-powered individuals and not die immediately.

Derick: holidays dont bring a ton of happy memories, so on his own he doesnt do much to celebrate. But with his new friends and family, hes more open to making happier memories

Derick: i think gift-giving is his love language? so while he doesnt give extravagant gifts, they all come from the heart (flowers, cool rocks, etc)

Derick: not really, he’s more intimidated than in awe of people that are “above” him

~cancel culture issue~

been addicted to watching jubilee videos and i just wanna put out my thoughts about this... cancel culture vs anti cancel culture and personally im leaning more towards anti cancel culture just bc i know the effects it could have on celebrities bc they’re the ones often getting cancelled bc they should be “perfect” and not make mistakes and i get there are people who had done some horrible things just like any other person but i think cancel culture is more like “you did this crime, therefore u are not relevant and should be hated and not exist in our eyes anymore” and im so against that. everyone should held accountable for their mistakes but treat them like a human being. i think everyone has their own reasons for becoming the way they are and yeah they’ve been sexually assaulted when they were young for example but that isn’t an excuse to sexually assault other people like just bc it happened to u doesnt mean u can do it to other ppl and if u did, u should also be held accountable for that bc its just a domino of sexual assaults and trauma and its so freaking bad!!! for me, personally if it happened to me, i would prevent it and just speak about how it shouldnt happen to everyone but it might be different for other ppl and that’s fine. it’s just cancel culture is bad and toxic, like their goal is to get rid of the toxic celebrities but they’re toxic too so like wtf? i’ve also been a fan of few ppl that have been cancelled like james charles and gabi demartino and like i love them growing up, they are so fun to watch and its like one mistake and u get hate by the entire world and im so against that bc yes allegations could be true but there’s like 20% that it might be false and ppl are just hating on them for fake news and i cant imagine the trauma it might cause their mental health like being blamed for things u already feel bad and seriously, if i was in their position then i would hate myself and want to end my life bc what’s the reason, no one would believe me anyways? i understand some celebrities who had done worse, sexual assault and cheating which are so bad and personally, i wouldn’t cancel them and we shouldn’t have the right to cancel them for their mistake. like there are allegations about the 1975 and lany which are my fav artists who saves me when i feel so down, they just make up my mood and there are like rumors abt them being sexual predator or like believing in this stuff and its really annoying me when they want to cancel their entire career that they worked for and ppl will tell me “ew, u listen to them? they said this” like idgaf, their music is lit and it doesn’t define them but like if they really did this bad thing and i still like their music then maybe i would listen to the music but wouldn’t support them personally bc it’s different and i guess they affected me a lot more than their mistakes? also, the issue about michelle dy, like i really like her and her issues like it didnt even matter to me like so what its not so bad abt jeffree star like he’s a mean person and filipinos like cancelled her and im like forced to hate her too like mob mentality but now i like her again bc she taught me abt makeup and although she changed, who cares like i salute her bc she must have been strong. also, im a hypocrite bc every rumor and ppl hating on celebrities i would just agree if i dont know them much but like wouldnt post hate comment online (maybe on my rant acc) but not to the point of giving hate on them bc i just cant do it. so overall, i really don’t like cancel culture and like pewdiepie said, they should be the one who gets cancelled like just stop WHY IS IT A CULTURE ANYWAY? just dont care abt them, no need for them to end up hating their life and doing more bad stuff gRRR

5am thoughts: theory: Story Of Light

is it called the Story of Light because its Shinee telling us and the whole entire world that they will no longer grief in sadness and that they've moved on and accepted what has happened? I'm sure we all know Shinee may still be sad (and maybe more than that) but what if this whole album is telling us that shinee, that all the members, Minho, Onew, Key, and Taemin are ready to have a new beginning? Like, they're ready to let all the sadness go and accept what has happened and that they will continue to work and grow.

What if You&I was about them talking about Jonghyun? Like, what if this song is about them trying to talk to Jonghyun? And theyre all trying to tell him that its hard when he's gone like they dont know what to do. "I’m the only one hurting, I may look fine I’m not easy, my feelings aren’t for decoration" And like they're all reminiscing their memories with him. All those good times that they're not ready to let go of. "A handful of memories, I laugh and remember every day" (okay the lyrics arent in order but JJJJust lemme finish and fyi, its gonna be a lOoong one). "There are countless stars in my heart, there’s one star that shines painfully I don’t want to grab it but I don’t want it to go out" okay in this part i think they maybe talking about Jonghyun. Maybe the stars represent people and "theres one star that shines painfully" might be Jonghyun. A star... someone really special to them... is hurting deep inside. Maybe Shinee is trying to tell us that although a celebrity or ANY person in general who may seem happy in front of the cameras or may seem happy in the outside in general is actually in deep pain inside. Dealing with self doubt, depression and all that and we just dont know :( "The things I can’t throw away make me smile" this is kinda self explanatory. Jonghyun, someone they love, someone they deeply cherish, someone they can't simply just let go of, someone who can always make them smile. You know?
