Any site that has any amount of material "harmful to minors" would be forced to employ surveillance tech (biometric scans, ID uploads, background checks) to prevent minors from accessing "pornography."

You will not be surprised to learn that this is backed by the Heritage Foundation.

Unlike some of the state age-verification laws, many of which are being challenged in court, SC will be enforced by the FTC, which has the ability to levy fines, raid business and freeze bank accounts. Yes, meaning that even non-for-profits like Ao3 will suffer.

- When talking with Republicans play up the fact that this would force Elon to implement age verification systems on X (yes do call it X during the call). Should I put $10 towards food, or towards education and development in Gaza?

This is a real question, not just theory or philosophy… a question I face every day, and I found myself needing to answer it clearly.

Today in Gaza, people are hungry… but also, people are lost. There's a graduate sitting on rubble with no laptop to even work on. There's a university student studying by candlelight, without internet to continue their education. There's an engineer, who instead of building, is searching for a box of aid to feed his family.

Do you know what this means? It means the occupation doesn't want to kill us with bullets, it wants to kill us with ignorance, with helplessness, by turning us into just people waiting for a bag of flour, waiting for aid… and that's the biggest crime against us. Today we all in Gaza need a bite to eat… but tomorrow? Do I want to spend my whole life depending on others to live? This is the question that worries me the most!! Or should I be able to provide for myself and my family and rebuild my life from scratch?

That's why, instead of that $10 being a meal for one day, let it be an investment in a student who will emerge from under the rubble, will learn, and will be able to provide their own food forever.

Let it be a share of Esnad, not just so Gaza can live another day… but so that Gaza can rise, stand, and persevere forever.

Hello, my name is Lama, and I am from Gaza City, specifically in the northern Gaza Strip. I grew up in a loving family of resilience and hope, with my parents working tirelessly to provide us with a life of dignity and opportunity. My father was our steadfast provider, and my mother was the heart of our home. I have two brothers and three sisters, the youngest of whom is just six months old. She is frail and often sick due to the lack of proper food and medicine. My siblings and I have shared dreams of education, careers and a bright future. But life in Gaza is marked by hardship, and when the war began, everything we had built was shattered. My older brother, a kind and a courageous soul, was martyred while trying to secure basic necessities for our survival, my younger sister was gravely injured, and the cost of her treatment weighs more than the universe to us, now the responsibility for my family has fallen on my shoulders.

Our home, once filled with warmth, laughter and memories, has been reduced to rubble. We have been displaced more than thirty times from place to a place with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Each time we returned, we found more destruction, we always clung to the hope of rebuilding, but in the last attack, our home was completely destroyed, we are now homeless, living in unsafe conditions with no shelter to protect us from the cold nights. The loss of our home is not just the loss of a building, it’s the loss of safety, stability, and the place where our dreams were nurtured.

With my father unemployed since the beginning of the war, we have no income to provide even the most basic necessities. Water, food, medicine, warm clothes and blankets-things that many take for granted-are beyond our reach. I'm not going to leave this unmentioned as the news isn't doing enough to warn people. The short of it is, the bill which disguises itself as a means to make the web safer was written by The Heritage Foundation to give the FTC full authority on what's deemed safe on the web. Under the new administration, it will be used to censor LGBT content. We know this was the point, as its proponents have shared this exact plan. It can still be beaten if called and emailed their senators, making it clear what harm the bill will do I'll link pages that can give you a line to your lawmakers, a way to write to them, and also a petition to sign.. The former only takes two minutes, and the latter has a pre-written script if you need it. This is more than important enough for your time. Even if you're in a red state, some conservatives oppose this bill beleive it will silence conservative voices too, so if you think that line of reasoning would work better on them, go for it!

Nearly 14,000 mail ballots in Nevada have signature issues

Officials urge residents to use online tool to check if ballot was accepted

The total number of ballots — 13,906 — needing curing include 6,383 from registered nonpartisan or other voters, 4,026 from Democrats and 3,497 from Republicans.

The deadline for voters to cure their ballots is 5 p.m. Nov. 12, officials said. Ballots can be cured here.

The main issue they're having with young voters is that Nevada allows for voter registration through the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the "signatures" are digital (the licensee types it into a form), so their hand-written signatures on their ballots don't match the KEYSTROKES that serve as signatures on their license.
