Like the tides - the full comic!! Okay listen, if you saw this post before but completely desorganized and wrong. No you didn't. That post does not exist. Only this one does. And yes I am uploading it fully because I cannot find it in myself to separate it for the millionth time. Yes I tried. I hated doing that. Is this maybe the worst way to upload it? Maybe. But I wanted to do it like this. Now, onto what I actually want to say.

Firstly, I want to than @chipper-smol for being a incredible host and organizer to the whole ISAT telephone game, and also being a huge support and inspiration behing this comic!!! Like truly, I wouldn't have done this comic without them, and I can't thank them enough for it. This comic is my pride and joy, I can't imagine not having this with me now!! I also want to thank @breey2776-blog for writing the fic that inspired me to do this much in the first place!! I can't compliment her writing enough, and I am so thanful to have had her before me. I don’t know if anyone’s ever asked this before so I’m sorry if I missed it! But I was really curious about your general process? Do you do purely watercolor works or a mix of watercolor and then digital additions/edits? Of course only if you’re up to/willing to share! I’m trying to learn more in regards to watercolor and love your works so much!

Hi!! Sorry it took me a moment!:D I am doing a bit of everything to be honest! I consider myself more of a mixed media artist! (Meaning different type of traditional and digital edits!) So some of my work is fully watercolor while other is mixed! For example, take this doodle of mine! Here's the freshly unadjusted scan:

Then with color adjustement to correct what my scanner washed out:

And then some light digital correction to make it a bit nicer!

For pieces like this, I normally work with a base of watercolors and inks on top of a colored pencil lineart.

Then I work in gouache and acrylic gouache for the part I want to "carve out" more. Then I finish everything with another layer of colored pencils on top to add more details and gradients, before scanning and touching up with digital. (sometimes I can go all out with digital edits and sometimes not at all! it depends on the piece!) For example here's one that was not retouched digitally at all beside correcting the washed out scan + watermark.

I just saw this video talking about actresses who've had to wear sexualized outfits on film that made them uncomfortable (think Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad) and it brought up an ongoing concern of mine about how films and tv shows are way more explicit now than they've been before. Thinking about how many actresses have been topless or nude on camera when it's totally unnecessary) Like I know Hollywood is experimental and would show sex and nudity in their films, I don't have a problem with that it's just how disproportionate the amount of women vs men who have to be naked and sexualized in film is. It's misogyny, pure and simple. Forcing actresses to put their bodies and sexuality on display for the pleasure of male directors and a male audience. And I hate that you can never point out how many actresses have come out and said that no, they didn't like wearing sexualized outfits on screen, they didn't like going nude/being pressured to go nude, they don't like sex scenes or explicit rape scenes but still anytime anyone mentions this you have to fight puritan allegations because god forbid you question how a notoriously sexualized and objectified marginalized community seems to always be sexualized and objectified in media.
