God the fact that it was Fabian and Gorgug specifically that had that revelation of Kristen’s miracle work is sending me into a tailspin

There’s just something inexplicable and unspoken connecting these three together (that has nothing to do with them being my favorites uh nope) , like, how both Gorgug and Kristen died at the beginning of freshman year, in front of Fabian (twice no less, in Kristen’s case) who to me always seemed uniquely affected by it.

Something about death and resurrections, dark forests and falling, I run up to him, parents loving you too much and never enough, do you remember the first time you watched someone die, legacies and expectations, being the protectors and needing to be protected, keep going, losing and finding yourself again…

What if…Marius makes a comment about how pretty Lethica’s ear jewelry is (bc idk what that thing on the tip of her ears are called), and wonders out loud if he could ever pull off jewelry like that, and Lethica offers to help him pierce his ears and give him some of her extra earrings and such. Perhaps nothing too feminine, but something elegant that fits his vibe.

Am I just saying this bc i decided to draw Marius in casual wear (bc there’s no way in the Nine Hells he’s sleeping in all that armor, even in his less bulky rose armor), and decided last minute to give him earrings that are vaguely similar to Lethica’s?

Actually come to think of it, why is Thorn’s cabin described as being the charred remains of a fire, underneath all those vines and flowers?

You get to Thorn through the Witch, and Witch’s route doesn’t involve fire at all.

The only Princess with a connection to fire is the Burned Grey, whom you can only meet through Damsel’s route.

Damsel’s Grey burns the cabin down because on some level she understands that the construct is pitting you against her, even though she doesn’t realize that the construct is more than just the cabin. But she believes that destroying the construct will put an end to the conflict between you two, allowing you to finally be together. She believes that this burning destruction will make your romance possible.

To get the Burned Grey, you have to reject the romantic path at the last moment and betray the Damsel despite her faith in you.

So it’s interesting that, after being betrayed by the Witch in a doomed demonstration of good faith, we return to a cabin that we perceive as having already been burned; and, upon meeting Thorn, we are offered new romantic possibilities.
