Anywho... this is where were at. A messy cheating storyline (again) because neither of those boys know how to deal with difficult feelings. They deserve each other at this point.

Been thinking about how fast he’s been growing up so here’s Buck and Chris at the zoo circa 2019.

I can clearly picture Buck taking Chris home to Eddie, he’s passed out in his arms and Eddie has to resit the urge to melt then and there at how precious his family is.

need eddie to be the one that kisses buck because eddie deserves to be the one going after what HE wants for the first time and buck deserves to be the one that’s pined after and is loved without being injured or something. eddie’s whole life was thrown together against his will. getting shannon pregnant, getting married, going to the army, raising christopher on his own. being in a nearly loveless marriage and relationship for ages because it’s what he thought he was supposed to do but he finds out that he can love for himself and he finds that in buck but it takes him time before he can act on it cause he’s ashamed.

on the other hand bucks spent his whole life chasing people and finding someone to love him just to be left. and left. and left. so he’s finally learning to let the right person come to him first. he’s not going to chase anymore. and so here comes eddie when he’s finally ready to express his emotions. and eddie kisses him first and it’s like the final puzzle piece clicking into place for both of them.

and it’s just so fitting on bucks end too to him cause eddie is the only person that has fully and truly accepted him as he is. never tried to change him. has always told him to feel how he wants to feel and just /gotten/ him. so when eddie kisses him he’s just like: “How did I not see this before?”

honestly, it seems to me that they're being dismissive about Buck's relationship with Chris because they didn't get their whole "dead Eddie, B/T adoption" plot so now they want to separate Buck from Chris altogether.

I mean, four weeks ago they were very happy for Buck to be Chris' co-parent/guardian.

Buck & Eddie: Chris’ conversations with his two dads

Christopher has conversations with Eddie and Buck all the time and some of the things he said to them were parallels.  He’s encouraged, consoled and even joked with them. They’re a family and they are always there for each other.  

1. GIF 5x6 “Brawl in Cell Block 9-1-1″ When Eddie made it home after the hostage situation was over, he went to check on Chris.  Chris woke up and said, “You’re weird dad” after Eddie told him that he was glad he was his kid.

2. GIF 6x1 “Let the Games Begin” Chris told Buck “It’s weird” when Buck asked him what him not having a couch had to do with him being fire captain.

3. GIF 3x2 “Sink or Swim” Chris told Buck right before the Tsunami hit, “You’re going to be ok kid” since Buck was sad about not being able to go back to work.

4. GIF 5x18 “Starting Over” Chris told Eddie, “Remember, talking about it makes it less scary” after Eddie reminded him that he had an appointment later that day which meant Carla would pick him up from school.

5. GIF 3x12 “Fools” When Eddie asked Chris if he knew what he couldn’t do, Chris said, “Cook” and they both laughed.

6. GIF 5x11 “Outside Looking In” After Eddie said, “All this time everybody thought I was a bad cook.” Christopher said, “You were”.

7. GIF 4x14 “Survivors” Chris consoled and comforted Buck when he said, “It’s going to be ok Buck” after Eddie had been shot.

8. GIF 5x14 “Dumb Luck” Chris noticed how quiet Eddie was being while he was preparing their dinner and after Chris asked him if he was ok, he then said, “You seem sad”.

9. GIF 5x11 “Outside Looking In” Chris asked Eddie why he quit firefighting and after he responded, “I thought you wanted me to quit”, Chris said, “I never said that”.

10. GIF 4x8 “Breaking Point” After Buck ended his call with Eddie, he said, “So I heard about you blowing up at your dad” but Christopher responded, “I don’t want to talk about it”.

11. GIF 3x10 “Christmas Spirit” Chris asked Buck if he could spend Christmas with him but when Buck had to tell him that he had to work like Eddie did, Christopher then said, “Stupid work”.

12. GIF 5x14 “Dumb Luck” Christopher asked the Equine Therapy tour guide when he could ride one of the horses and she explained to him there were a lot of things they would do first so the horses would learn to trust him, Christopher said, “That sounds like work”.

13. GIF 4x3 “Future Tense” Christopher asked Buck if they could go to his house and play video games but after Buck saw the look on Eddie’s face, he responded they would have to play it old school for a while and Chris asked him, “What’s old school?”

14. GIF 6x4 “Animal Instincts” Chris told Eddie that he bought the wrong brand of mayo and Eddie told him it was on sale.  Chris then said, “You know dad, sometimes you get what you pay for”.

15. GIF 3x1 “Kids Today” During Buck’s welcome back to the 118 party, Christopher gave him a card that he made for him and when Buck said, “Wow this is great” Chris responded, “It’s you and me”.

16. GIF 6x5 “Home Invasion” After Hoover the dog made a mess in the kitchen, Chris called for Eddie and after Eddie said, “I thought Hen was exaggerating” Chris said, “I don’t think he likes being alone. Maybe he has separation anxiety”.

Actually, I think it’s beyond that. It’s them not talking. That was the real thing to me when I read it. Buck looks Eddie up and down — he’s in his underwear and a shirt with the collar popped, the mustache is gone, there’s obviously something happening with him — but they don’t need to talk in that moment. It’s like, you’re going through something and I’m going through something, so let’s just have a drink and be in each other’s space in a supportive way. I’m guessing they did exchange some words at some point, but I imagine they didn’t talk for a while. Just being there for each other was enough. - Oliver Stark
