like i have so many questions regarding the latest archon quest and they all involve Childe?? like, for example-

Why was he in Fontaine in the first place? what did it mean that "he felt restless" and "needed to fight ppl to get rid of his foul mood" ??

Why did his vision malfunction?? was that Focalors' doing?

Where is his vision story??? how did he get it???

why was he declared guilty by the oratrice? was that also Focalors' doing? was it all part of her grand scheme

how was neuvillette's one punch strong enough to knock him out but he had to fight the narwhal for who knows how long

how tf did he awaken that narwhal that is somehow really connected with him?

How did he even get to the primordial sea, or whatever plane of existence the all devouring narwhal lives in? how long did he fight it?

Why did he have to be yeeted back to snezhnaya?????? like he was yesterdays trash or smth😭 skirk even does the hand clapping thing after that??? and then 5 seconds later she completely forgets about having a disciple??

Why did mihoyo have to pull this bs again where they give us such a lore important character but dont give us any lore on them at all 😔 one kaeya was alr enough they needn't pull that shit again come on. and i swear if we have to wait till snezhnaya to get all of these answers i'm gonna shrivel up like a raisin : )

I need to explain how insane my linux setup used to be

The first partition was boot, it had systemd-boot and a custom kernel build from vanilla kernel.org source. The second partition was an LVM physical volume with three logical volumes: an @arch-official rootfs, a @debian-official rootfs, and the rest of the space was shared for a directory I invented called /common which the distros shared. Kernel configurations, source, and all kernel modules were stored there. I wrote a hook for init ramfs to mount /common early so that the symlink to /common for kernel modules would work

For the home directory, subdirectories with normal files were in /common/homert/<dirname>, and gnu stash linked them to my home directory. All of my config files were stored in a git repo, the upstream being in /common and clones being in the home directories in each of the distros, each distro having its own branch committing and pushing to upstream whenever .zshrc was run. (.zshrc was also tracked by the repo & I had trouble because i didn't think to set up an extra clone with a dev branch) In retrospect I should've just used git watch

Anyways I got a ton of strange issues I never figured out like my config files being sent back to February 2nd randomly and debian not being able to connect to the network. That's what happens when your OS is a tangled web of shell scripts XD

In the end I decided it was too cursed switched to @nixos-official and left that hot imperative mess behind B)

As you can see, it's called Trials of Fatherhood by the lovely @z-eusie and in-between my agonies and right now, she's actually updated the fic and now the Apollo chapter is live!! Everyone should go read this fic, actually! It's a wonderful little compilation of moments that allow for showing both the ugliness and beauty of the gods when taken from a nuanced, compassionate perspective and it's always been one of my favourites to go back to every now and then just because of how fond I am of it. I'm especially fond of the Athena and Dionysus chapters myself but I hope everyone finds their favourite one. <33
