The last episode in Jeju was fun too. Jikook were very silly together and apart. Jungkook is really funny. The fact that he's a great cook is really hot. His body is also really hot and we had some amazing shots of him "napping" and doing a headstand in the pool. There was a lot of half-naked Vminkook in Jeju.
It's obvious how much closer Jimin and Jungkook are than the other members. They have the same sense of humor, similliar tastes, and can get so caught up in their bubble. This episode was mostly eating and some pool time, but they made it fun. I remember Jkkrs say that Jikook would discuss their enlistment in Sapporo, but they already knew they'd be enlisting in this episode.
Jimin really finds JK attractive... He's an unofficial visual line member. They all love Jin's looks too! I know these are just scattered thoughts, but JK looked so cute in V's sunglasses, and Jimin too! And I loved Jimin's plaid shirt and when JK tucked his oversized red t-shirt in black pants (his lower body is insane).
Jikook playing with pets, Jimin remembering to feed the staff, Jungkook cooking for the staff and deciding to cook that specific dish because he thought Jimin would like it... Jikook best boys!
Are we getting the footage from JK dining with the staff at the restaurant in I Am Still?
It's not V's fault but his face often looks very blank and it's hard not to feel like he's unexcited. I know my face looks like that a lot too, so I'm not judging V, but it can be a bit off-putting and clashes with Jikook, who are usually so expressive.
Jkkrs rise, our time is now!! Sapporo next! SNTY JK is coming!
Btw, Jimin really loves Seven, huh? But I'm sure we'll see some STNY Jimin too.

in the scenario that annabeth actually did cheat on luke I would applaud her. luke’s still nasty for insinuating that though
i think thats a fair perspective and i def would not hold it against her though i personally don't find cheating OK in like 99% of situations. definitely a nuanced topic with a lot of personal bias involved.
from a writing perspective i think had she actually done it it would detract from the qualities of annabeth that her relationship and "her" discography are meant to show which is that she sees the potential for good in people that don't necessarily deserve it and wants that love from them so badly often to the point of seeming naïve and fiercely defends the resulting decisions with stubbornness and pride.
it also takes away from the craftiness of luke as a character. if what he were saying were 100% true then you aren't seeing him crafting a narrative that is true in it's technical detail but recontextualized to fit him. like the foulness of what he says is not purely in the fact that he is lying but also in the fact technically all the events he describes do happen and the perspective he presents, if you weren't an omniscient reader, is extremely believable.

Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016-2017)
Tumblr media
This drama follows the stories of the men of Hwarang, an elite warrior group loyal only to the king of the Silla era. However, a twist in the story is that the current king is in hiding. The previous king was assassinated when the current king was a child, so the king is in hiding until he is powerful enough to protect himself. Until then, his mother, the Queen Regent rules. The story predominantly follows the king, Kim Ji Dwi/Sam Maek Jong, an orphan commoner who doesn't know his own ancestry and assumes the identity of his best friend (Kim Sun Woo), Gae-Sae, and Kim Sun Woo's sister and doctor of the Hwarang warriors, Kim Ahro.
Phew. 😵 That was a long explanation. And that's not even spoiling anything. Now, to the ratings!
Extremely complicated political drama: 10/10
Hilarious wise old man mentor: 10/10
Adorable side couple: 20/10
THEY ARE UNJUSTLY UNDERRATED AND YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE! BAN RYU AND SOOYEON FOREVER! 💘
Love triangle that isn't infuriating: 8/10. Minus 2 points for being predictable.
Morally ambiguous queen that I'm not sure if I like or not: 10/10
Sexy Shower Scene: 10000/10
I'll leave the shower scene with a cast like Park Seojoon, Park Hyungsik, and Shinee's Minho up to your imagination 😉 Check out this underrated gem and give it the love it deserves!

Just look at these two!!! Ban Ryu x Sooyeon my beloved ❤️❤️❤️

With the heavy caveat that I know people put their heart and soul into this show, having watched 6 seasons of this shit now, The Dragon Prince is just this to me
Tumblr media
I root for this show as if it was my child’s little league team playing against the Dodgers. Like, they have the spirit, certainly. Can they actually hit a fastball going over 100mph? I think not.
#ok tag rant kiddos get ready#tdp in the beginning was cute- competent- passable kids media that was genuinely entertaining if silly to watch#like yall it was endearing at first but now— i don’t think they know WHY things worked in avatar#and don’t get me wrong#it has SO much potential#i WANT it to be good#it THREATENS WITH A GUN to be good#and then it trips on itself#which is so sad because all the pieces are there- then they make the most BAFFLING plot/character decisions#i pity the crew making it because 1) bts coming outta there kinda sounds like hell#and 2) making the netflix-style release schedule show is so deeply challenging and detrimental to its shows#idk i’ll rant more coherently later but damn#i hate to see so much passion squandered or lessened by just a top-down lack of ability to organize and execute#am i 24 and watching this? yeah. but not as a mere fan: im peer reviewing#this is such a late 2010’s-2020’s show like damn#there’s just too much going on#but god dammit if there aren’t so many talented people OBVIOUSLY pouring their all into it#some of whom I’ve followed for a while!#i just wish the show had the chance to live up to its potential#and didnt parrot avatar’s flirtation with darker themes in children’s media without understanding why it worked or what lines you cant cross#also rayla and callum are like… kinda gross imo. but that’s just me I guess#this is my new game of thrones if they wanna name an episode where no one dies ‘the red wedding’

Face to FACE by JIMIN; a psychoanalytic spiral:
Tumblr media
A mysterious paragraph, titled “Circle of Resonance” appeared on BTS's official website, minutes before the announcement of Jimin’s solo debut project titled ‘FACE’ containing six tracks that range from trap-soul, a lush synth-laden centerpiece, a vulnerable ballad to an eerie anthem.
“Face-off” cleverly incorporates the circus clown tune as a means to convey the dumbfoundedness that comes after broken trust—progressing into frustration and loathing-escapism; Jimin's vocals majorly emphasize the theme!
“Dive” is a sensory synthesis into Jimin’s everyday life, exposed yet lost and vacant.
“Like Crazy” yearning looms over the intoxicating centerpiece of this record; escapism is seductive, but self-awareness is alert.
On “Alone” the reality has sinked in but it’s become a looping blur of constant despair, like Jimin’s voice when he says the word ‘fall’ it relapses; a familiar story that resonates.
“Set Me Free Pt.2” is conjunction of resonance—the shadow is faced and embraced; it starts with a swarm of wailers eerily boiling over the melody, then the beat drop interrupts in revolt—a battle for supremacy grows throughout the song. with Jimin hailing for power, it goes on until the second verse, when his voice starts to weaken the voices, eventually they fade away in one last breath pointing him to the sky as the successor and then suddenly there’s ease, a darkly euphoric catharsis has taken place.
Choreography;
youtube
Jimin’s description of FACE is ‘to confront’ and face his innermost self and this album interconnected like waves resonating from the depths to the shore —and they’re the most visible in ‘Like Crazy’ choreography; at the beginning the female dancers are closer to Jimin resembling the inner divine feminine and the male are far, resembling masculinity and the persona. as they spread in the shape of a butterfly, the symbol of transformation, it suggests the desire to embrace both the feminine and the masculine, in the following movements the male chase after Jimin like a shadow and try to hold him back before the female dancers pull and surround him like a whirlwind—signaling the struggles that come with facing changes, then they tiptoe towards the male, this time dancing in sync with them and the female join them as they dance in unison, a sign of embracing each side of oneself, they form into a shape embracing Jimin in a ‘breath of fresh air’ movement and this time a male dancer holds him from falling; the next movement Jimin face’s his divine feminine and dance in parallel to each other before she hides again (his reflection is still not fully embraced) in the next movement while the lyrics say “I rather be lost in the lights” Jimin dances with the male dancers while covering his eyes and the female dancers are hidden behind— barely dancing, a sign of retreat suggesting escapist behavior from facing the fear of being vulnerable and the final movement they dance in unison again but the male dancers try to cage the female dancers; yet this time they break free; he’s now free.
FACE is riddled with duality; each track is interconnected and constructed like a heartbreak story and a moment of self-reflection— it’s vague yet intimately insightful, a record were each perception has relevance in it's unwavering circle of resonance.

Okay, I Am Still spoilers under the cut. Let's do this.
Oh boy, that was something.
Seeing Jungkook made me so happy and at peace. His bright smile makes me happy. I felt so much love for him, so real and deep that it's surreal I feel that way and that my love for him has grown so much throughout chapter 2 - and that I've loved him for 5 years now... When the first Golden performance was played, I really felt so serene and present. I wanted to close my eyes. My problems felt so far away and I was grateful to be alive and to be alive at the same time as Jungkook. I often think this, but as long as Jungkook is happy, then at least one person I really love is okay, and that makes living a little bit easier. So I often plead to myself for him to be happy and have a happy ever after (as much as possible in a world where sickness and death are guaranteed). So, thank you, Jungkook, for every bit of comfort and happiness you give me, and for filling my heart when I feel that it is so hollow. I'm so proud of you. I was so proud seeing your journey.
I was also so moved at the end of the movie... Magic Shop played, then the black screen thanking Army showed up (tears), followed by Jungkook shaving his hair for the military... His hairstylist cried... It was sweet and sad, I love how much everyone loves Jungkook. He hugged his hairstylist was sweetly and acted bravely. And then Jimin showed up and Jungkook acted silly for him... The doc ended. with Jungkook making a funny face... It felt very Jungkook. It left me feeling happy, sad, grateful, touched, and overwhelmed all at once.
I guess the documentary also made me feel bad for how critical I am of him. It's just my nature. I feel things very deeply or very shallowly...
Now, other thoughts and criticism:
Most of the doc was rather underwhelming. I paid too much to see something that could've been available for free on YT. It had about the same quality as LSRF's docs tbh. They could've hired a really good producer instead.
I get the story they were telling, but it left much to be desired. The timeline was all over the place, and they overall showed very little given the material they must have. They could've dug so much deeper and shown so much more of Jungkook - which is what I believe he probably wanted. They showed so much old footage, like some of his performances and interviews. It was all about showing his success, talent, and perseverance. That's great and all, but it doesn't make the doc insightful or new.
I wanted to really see the process of creating Golden. Not just him recording stuff and traveling the world, but discussing the songs, the MVs. Why did he release the explicit version of Seven - what was that discussion like? Why he decide on collabs? How did he choose the songs? Why did he decide to make an English album after 3D - was it an easy choice or was he unsure about it? Did he give his input on the MVs? The doc doesn't answer these questions or truly show the decision-making process behind Golden, behind Seven, 3D, and SNTY. So it's less about Golden, and more about Jungkook's growth. I guess Golden is only about Jungkook proving something, but they could've done more, dug deeper, showed more of Golden since the doc is marketed as a "making of" Golden.
Still, it did show candid and very Jungkook-like moments and how his confidence in himself grew. It showed what his goals were, and I really relate to what he said about not knowing what the end goal is but that at least he's learning. I also don't know what I want my career to be yet, but I'm learning stuff and hopefully I'll figure it out.
I just expected more substance. Showing him perform and being interviewed was unnecessary. We've already seen all of that. Some performances and interview moments are fine, but there were too many imo. I also didn't like the quotes from some of the producers. Tbh, Jungkook would've made a much better documentary than Hybe. I was still satisfied in the end though.
On another note, I witnessed the Taekook effect for the first time irl. Some fans started yelling when V showed up - they either love V or Taekook, or both. No one really reacted with Jimin or Jikook...
This was my first time seeing BTS on the big screen. I'd never done it previously because I don't want to give Hybe money and because it didn't feel worth it. I was also very afraid of watching it with other Armys. I expected fans to yell when JK appeared shirtless, which they did, and they laughed and cooed a bit too much, but overall fans were quiet. Thankfully. That had been my biggest concern... The Portuguese just can't be bothered with anything.
Speaking of Portuguese, I paid 11 Euros for a movie that was translated into Brazilian Portuguese? I never thought an official movie would be shown in Portuguese from Brazil in Portugal. It is not the same as Portuguese from Portugal. A lot of the translation sounded off.
Anyway... what did you guys think? I have to eat now before I pass out. I'm so weak my arms and legs are tingling. And I bit all my nails during the doc because I was hungry lmao.
Edit: Forgot to add that beginning the doc with baby pictures of Jungkook was too cute. Also, I loved all the moments of Jungkook Jungkooking. Cause of death: Jungkook and his big, pretty eyes, and cute mannerisms, and perfect heart.
