Why the BuckTommy break-up fell flat narratively...
Disclaimer: I am not defending this ship. I hate it and I'm glad it's dead.
1. Prior to the break-up, he made a jab at Abby for dating a guy half her age and riding Buck off as "a himbo." Even though he's literally doing the same exact thing.
That, kids, is what we call "hypocrisy."
2. Tommy said that he "knows how the relationship ends."
Sir, if you know how it ends, why did you go for it in the first place? This just gives off that he was only dating Buck either for a good time or because Eddie wasn't showing any signs of interest, so he just settled for his bestie.
3. Tommy tries to pawn off the catalyst of the relationship ending on Buck, saying that he would "break his heart."
Even though HE was the one doing all the heart-breaking shit to BUCK throughout the entire goddamn relationship.
4. Josh's dumbass advice.
Okay, that's not fair. Josh's advice wasn't dumb per-say, but it was completely irrelevant to Buck's issue. I know that he probably doesn't really know who Tommy is, but making him sound like he was this gay pioneer who led the charge at Stonewall and that his scars should be respected?
Absolute nope.
It ended up making Buck's move-in proposal feel like he was doing it out of obligation because Tommy's been out longer than he has, so why shouldn't he ask him to move in with him?
And on that topic...
5. The return of the hamster wheel
You would think that after dumping Taylor the way he did, Buck would remember that he doesn't necessarily have to hold on to relationships that aren't working and he can just cut it loose, right?
Wrong.
Instead, they have Buck actually take Josh's advice and pull a Taylor 2.0 by asking Tommy to move in with him. This show continues to leave Buck on that fucking hamster wheel instead of letting him get off and it's working my nerve. Even if this was just the show's way of showing that Buck's toxic relationship tendencies don't change because he's with someone of the same sex, it's still redundant and annoying.
6. Buck.
The first and only time Tommy chooses to refer to Buck by his preferred name is when he's dropping him like a baked potato.
And the show never even gave Buck the chance to tell him off about it.
The fucking audacity.
And finally,
7. TOMMY KINARD HIMSELF
This whole scene, the narrative tries to paint Tommy out to be this sympathetic character all throughout, making him look all sad and talking about how "he knew the parking spot was too good to be true" and citing Buck to be the one who would break his heart.
Despite the fact that he literally broke Buck's again just seconds ago.
I'll never understand why the show decided to take this route with Tommy's character for the episode even though in past episodes, he's been canonically depicted to be insensitive at best and flat out bigoted at worse. And throughout the entirety of his and Buck's relationship, he has said and done things that have hurt Buck and he never even apologized for it. And if he did apologize, he gave a lame apology as to why he did do.
*cough* first date *cough cough*
And it definitely doesn't help matters that the show made the active choice not to bring up his past actions within the relationship or for Buck to even know about it. Instead, they made Abby the catalyst for the break up when it could've been Tommy himself being the catalyst.
Obviously, there were a million ways the show could've given the BuckTommy break-up a major impact and there were definitely ways they could've made the break-up solid with the Abby revelation.
All in all, the break-up could've been executed better, but at least the ship is dead.

Didn't Tim say we had Ryan's best performance this episode? I know Ryan isn't the strongest actor, but there was not a single scene that blew me away so I'm so confused.
idk if that's been said and i think he was pretty good in the confessional scene. but like you said there wasn't any real moments where he could showcase all the emotion like his scene with kim in s7 or his breakdown in s5 or his grief over shannon in s3. idk everything about the major storylines this season so far lacked weight imo, i've been frustrated with every story beat for how superficial they've been playing them.
#the only real emotional scene this season was denny and it was a one and done scene#and tbf and give them their credit they did make manage to make the bt breakup heartbreaking after everything in 8x05#if you consider that a win lol#but mara coming back to the wilsons the bobby and athena reunion the buck struggling without bobby the henchim tension... they either didnt#happen at all or lacked emotionality idk#mimi talks#911 critical#911 discourse

¤autumn 2023
the confrontation  when it rained, it poured and you felt like you haven't seen even a glimpse of the sun in ages. there was a nagging feeling in your gut that it was too far gone, but like everything else for the past ten years, you swallowed it down and swept it under the rug. bad feelings didnât exist in your relationship. that was the unspoken rule. yet, it was growing more and more difficult to mask the disappointment in your eyes or the frown fighting your lips. today marked the worst of your attempts.
seoul was unusually calm tonight and it scared you. when you moved to the city ages ago to begin your journey as an idol trainee, it was nothing but intimidating for your meek, pre-teen self. eventually, over time, your love for the city bloomed and it was truthfully because of jungkook. once young teenagers that arrived to seoul alone, you found solace in each other and embraced the change as one. he made you fall in love with seoul the same way he made you fall in love with him. dates, nightclubs, late night adventures, and years worth of moments within the city limits.Â
however, the streets were as hushed as you were, as you gripped your steering wheel like a robot.Â
the decision had been long made and you knew it was going to come around at some point, so there was no use in fighting it. after going without seeing your boyfriend for months, it should have been nothing but pure excitement.
âyouâre awfully quiet,â murmured jungkook, glancing over at you from the passenger seat.
you were already annoyed to begin with, when he mentioned that he was going to have a driver pick him up from the airport, instead of asking for you. it felt like he didnât even expect to have you waiting for him, considering the two of you had been apart due to his time working in the united states. you thought heâd be insisting for you to be the first person he saw once he came back. these frustrations were on top of several other things, which youâd been dreading to confront for even longer of a time.
and then, there was also the velvet box you spotted in the background of one of your facetime calls. you didnât bring it up, but it was living in your mind everyday since. with jungkookâs big day fast approaching, there were a lot of conflicting ideas in your head.
you shrugged. âiâve been filming long hours. not getting that much sleep.â
the look jungkook gave you read that he knew that you werenât being a hundred percent honest, but he didnât say anything. his eyes returned to being fixated on his phone.
after over ten years of knowing each other, you and jungkook could see through each other like glass. the only problem was that nobody ever wanted to speak up. you feared the glaring possibility of other buried conflict dating further back into the relationship because of this dynamic.
you didnât think you deserved the blame for the tension in the air. there were several things in your mind, but jungkook wasnât exactly a person who could easily mask their emotions. something was off with him, too, and you needed to figure out what it was. you could only hope for the best case scenario because otherwise, it was going to be your worst nightmare. there was no situation you could fathom where his behaviour was a result of an in between.Â
keeping your voice casual, you asked, âwho are you texting?â
 âmy mom.â
you held back a sigh - jungkook was never particularly keen on involving you with his family. though youâd been together since he was sixteen, you always felt like he kept you an armâs reach away from that part of your life and you never understood why.
âoh. tell her i say hi,â you said and he hummed in response.Â
whilst you werenât in a talkative mood, it wasnât like jungkook was doing anything to keep the conversation flowing either. you guys obviously texted and called during his time away, but the present atmosphere was awkward, like there was nothing to talk about after his grand return. you hugged and kissed at the airport, asked how his flight was, and that was that. driving him felt like a business endeavour, rather than welcoming your long-term partner back to the country.
after a few minutes, jungkook finally looked up from his phone. upon peering out the window, he grew confused and turned to you.
he questioned, âwhere are we going? the apartment is in the other direction.â
âjust wait,â you assured, forcing a small smile. âtake off your hoodie and put on what i have for you in the backseat.â
there was a shopping bag sitting behind jungkookâs seat and he reluctantly reached over, revealing a silk ysl shirt that you picked up that very afternoon. sighing, he did as you asked and made the change. you didnât care to look over at your boyfriendâs shirtless body, too irritated at the curtness of the conversation.
you just wanted to get to the destination, the heavy silence becoming too much for you. there wasnât even music on. you found yourself focusing too much on it, as you finally pulled up to the infamous hotel azure. somehow tucked away in the busy songpa district, it is unassuming to the civilian eye, but a well-known name amongst the circles of south koreaâs entertainment industry. you didnât âmake itâ in entertainment until you attended a party at hotel azure.
jungkook shifted in his seat. âwhat is this?â his tone was demanding, which immediately put you off. âthe plan was to go home.â
to be fair, the last time that the two of you were at the azure hotel, jungkook wound up with a bloody nose after getting into it with an not-to-be-named yg idol at one of jackson wangâs wild parties. you werenât even sure what happened yourself, bleary eyed for the majority of the night with several substances in your body. hotel azure was for idols at the top of the world with everything to lose, a favourite place of yours around 2018. it was now a place that you actively tried to avoid, but made an exception for the special occasion.
âcalm down,â you shot back, not letting him get away with the voice he used. âjust wait, i said.â
âiâm tired, y/n,â jungkook pleaded, as you stopped the car for the valet to take.Â
you ignored him - it wasnât like it was up to you - and unbuckled your seatbelt, not waiting a second for jungkook.Â
not only did you pick up your boyfriend from the airport, you also spent hours meticulously preparing your appearance for the night. it didnât seem like jungkook noticed, other than at the airport, when he questioned why you were wearing high heels.Â
you never wore heels unless you were working, but that changed when you met jungkook. he loved it when you wore heels and by the time your respective trainee debts were paid, made it a point. you bought platforms with the anticipation of how your boyfriend would go crazy over them. jungkook gifted you designer jimmy choos and pradas whenever you guys got into a fight. it made you feel your prettiest and he showered you with compliments every time.
now, he looked at you oddly for it, like you were doing too much.
jungkook eventually gave up and followed you in without a word, watching you take off your trench coat to reveal a stunning baby pink two-piece dress. the colour glittered under the low lighting of the hotel lobby and the corset accentuated your curves in all the right aways. except, he still did not say a word. this made you frown.
you handed off your coat to an employee and jungkook did the same. the lobby was empty, but you and jungkook knew exactly where to go, making a beeline for the elevator and pressing the button to move up to the penthouse suite.Â
âwhy didnât you warn me about this?â he grumbled under his breath, adjusting his shirt in the mirror.
because thatâs how surprise parties work, you wanted to reply. unfortunately, this was not a surprise party that you wanted to celebrate, so you didnât even try to keep jungkook excited. you were both quiet, irritable, and only wanted to go home.Â
you said, âthis is the part where i cover your eyes and lead you out.â
jungkook complied and you placed your perfectly manicured hands over his line of vision. other than sharing a hug and kiss earlier, this was the closest youâd physically gotten to your boyfriend in months. your hands were cold and you were close enough that he could hear your breathing - all too uncomfortable.Â
the elevator dinged and you nudged jungkook to step forward. the penthouseâs lights were off, but you could make out the shuffling of feet from behind the kitchen counter. it looked like everything was set up and pristine. then, in just a beat, the entire room lit up and you removed your hands from jungkookâs eyes.
 âSURPRISE!â
the floor rumbled, voices roaring and bodies popping out from different places - behind pillars, couches and the bar. jungkookâs eyes brightened in a way that you had yet to see since reuniting with him earlier and it made your heart sink. you hadnât realized how dull his demeanour was around you until something else actually made him smile.
his closest friends and family gathered in the penthouse and there was a large, golden banner that hung from the walls that said âwelcome back jungkook!â the other wall was decorated with another banner, but this one said âgood luck rm, v, jimin and jungkook!âÂ
jungkookâs older brother was the first one that enveloped him into a bear hug, nearly squeezing the life out of him, then his mom. this was followed by the remainder of his band mates that managed to make the party. you awkwardly stood off to the side, a wide smile plastered on your face to mask your despondence. it seemed like jungkookâs exhaustion only existed when he was sitting in a car with you, as his laughter echoed throughout the room.
you caught jungkookâs eye and he already knew how you were feeling. while he exchanged words with other friends, it was namjoon who pulled you to the side.
âhey. you guys did a really great job with the party,â you started, looking around.
the penthouse of the azure hotel was a thing of beauty, with ceiling high windows that looked over the lights of seoul. everything shone and glimmered - the city skyline, the perfect marble floors, the expensive liquor bottles, and hell, even the perfect teeth of the myriad of a-list south korean celebrities gracing this exclusive party. there wasnât a wrong way to ever throw a party there, but the group made an extra effort to make jungkookâs homecoming a special one.Â
jungkook was swarmed by several people, all asking about his time in america and how exciting it was. those were the words you used to describe it for him, too, when you sent him off months ago. you watched him take shots with mingyu and eunwoo.Â
namjoon shook his head, âno, no. this wouldnât be possible without you,â he said and then glanced at jungkook, âand iâm sure he knows it, too.â
the boys, despite it also serving as a goodbye party before their enlistments, had been helping you plan the surprise for weeks leading up to jungkookâs arrival. it was one of the longest times jungkook had been apart from them and from the country in general, so they wanted to make it extra special. though you were the main mastermind behind the gathering, you initially didnât want to do it at all.Â
âyeah, i hope so,â you replied, as you poured yourself a glass of white wine. âyou guys all deserve it.â
over the years, jungkookâs band mates slowly became some of your friends, as well. it was somber goodbye for you in all kinds of ways. everyone was preparing to send them off with good luck and high spirits.Â
the boys were also preparing in their own way. you noticed that taehyung and jiminâs girlfriends were missing from the party, which only confirmed your speculations.Â
âit was just bound to happen,â said a voice.
it was taehyung who joined you and namjoon in a quiet circle at the corner of the living room. all of the boys looked a little bit sad, despite the celebratory atmosphere, but you read a different kind of story in taehyungâs eyes.Â
he smiled with a hint of gloom. âyouâre looking around for her, right?â
as a fellow idol and also a girlfriend to a member of one of the biggest groups in the world, taehyungâs girlfriend grew to become one of your close confidants in the past few years. you guys were polite before, but this connection created a specific bond that couldnât be understood by anyone else. however, you hadnât heard from her in a few days and with her absence at taehyungâs goodbye party, you put two and two together.Â
to his side, namjoon clapped a hand on his friendâs back. âsorry, man.â
âi hope it was cordial,â you mustered up, ignoring the growing heaviness at the pit of your stomach. you could only hope you werenât next.
taehyung replied. âshe understood, but she wasnât happy. regardless,â he sighed, âweâre still so young. her career is just blowing up even more, i feel like iâd only be holding her back.âÂ
that was the way it went. when enlistment rolled around for most couples, it was either breaking up or a ring. you looked at your feet, not knowing what to say.Â
âjimin also told me that he broke things off with - â
a loud yelp squeaked from taehyung, who was abruptly jabbed in the side with namjoonâs elbow. the latter cleared his throat and you recognized that look. namjoon only made that face when he pulled the leader card and needed to put someone in their place. you figured that your worries were transparent to those around you.
namjoon cleared his throat. ânot in a chatty mood?â
while you greeted people during the set-up of the party, you realized that you had yet to actually try socializing. things were awkward with jungkookâs parents, who you long suspected didnât approve of you for various reasons. in general, most people were interested in chatting with the boys, which you didnât mind. it was a gathering to send them off, after all.
ânot really. you guys should go mingle with your friends,â you said, taking another sip of your wine. âitâs your party.â
âi hope iâm not overstepping, but did you and jungkook get in a fight?â taehyung asked.
you blinked slowly. âno. does it seem like it?â
âjust seems like heâs nervous about something,â he commented and you noticed namjoon glare at him once more, as if to shut up.
for the first time that night, you felt a glimmer of mixed feelings that left you wondering. why would he be nervous? the big visual forming in your mind was a diamond ring. you and jungkook had contemplated marriage in the past year, but it was also the source of many arguments. you werenât even sure you wanted to get married now, but your mother had been getting into your ear about you getting older. then, there were your respective companies who lost their shit at the idea. but, what really mattered, was jungkookâs opinion. he seemed to wave it off or change the topic at every opportunity, so your hopes for a ring lived in the back of your mind.Â
despite this, taehyung was right. jungkook looked nervous. heâd been irritated at being dragged to his surprise party - you wondered if it was delusional enough to believe that he had plans for the two of you, instead.Â
for the rest of the night, you continued to keep to yourself. you werenât lying when you told jungkook you were tired, but you were determined to stay as long as you could and pretend that you and jungkook werenât stealing mysterious glances at each other for the entire evening. it was obvious and only made you anxious.Â
a few hours later and the party only grew in numbers and in noise. you thought you lost him in the crowd, until you left to refill your nth drink and found him talking to his cousin.
the two were smiling and laughing, as his cousin appeared to be showing jungkook pictures on his phone. you assumed it was her newborn daughter - she gave birth just two months before her fiance was to be discharged and now that he was back, the wedding was just around the corner. you remembered jungkook telling you that she was proposed to on the day of his enlistment.Â
jungkook caught your eye and he immediately looked away - what the hell was that? he even turned slightly and you couldnât read his lips. something was going on. you watched him shove his hands in his pockets and you swore you saw the shape of a small square inside.
eventually, you grew tired of the tension in the air and the music began to make your head pound. the longer you thought about your partner, the greater your anxieties grew. there was a chance you even just although it was late in the year and a fresh sheet of snow adorned the streets of seoul, you decided it was best to step out into the balcony to take some time to breathe.Â
nobody else was there, thankfully, and you let out a shiver when you stepped out. the peppermint air dispelled the haze in your head and in your heart, as taking a deep breath was the greatest relief you felt all night. though your muscles remained tense and you knew you wouldnât last out in the cold, the balcony was a welcome change.
you werenât sure how long you were outside when the door creaked open and just by the footsteps alone, you knew who it was.
âyour guests will miss you,â you said, not even looking behind you.
at this point, you were hugging yourself to stop shivering. a rustle later and you felt a thick blanket drape over your shoulders, the wool of its make completely enveloping you with much needed warmth. you relaxed your shoulders, but couldnât look jungkook in the eyes.
 âsomethingâs wrong. tell me.â
jungkookâs wine stained lips were pulled into a frown and although he hid it well when he was chatting away with his friends and family, you could see the exhaustion in his eyes. he sniffled a few times and you knew why, but you decided to bite your tongue. it was his party and he was an adult who could celebrate whatever way he wanted. it was also clear that neither of you had the energy to argue. instead, to his surprise, you raised an arm and gestured for him to come closer.
he sidestepped towards you and although you were shorter, let you wrap some of the blanket around him. his cold arm snaked around your waist and you tensed up again at his touch.
you continued to look out into the skyline. âi was going to say the same for you.â
âiâm really thankful for the party, love,â he ignored your question and pressed a kiss against your temple.
you mumbled under your breath, âit wasnât easy." this was the first time all night that you were comfortable enough to physically touch jungkook and you suspected alcohol played a role in relieving the tension between you two, but it was always going to be easy to fall right back into routine.
and just like that, you felt a stinging sensation in your eyes. tears welled up and blurred your vision, which only made you turn your head away further from your boyfriend. he caught this immediately, his instincts nothing but natural when it came to you, and pulled you right into his chest.Â
the sound that came out of your mouth sounded nothing like you. the sob was desperate and helpless. it was akin to a toddler who couldnât do anything by themselves. your voice cracked with each body-shaking sob and you didnât have the guts to conceal it. your head was buried into jungkookâs new shirt, ruining it, but he only stroked your hair and wrapped the blanket tighter around the two of you.
âitâs okay. . .â jungkook cooed and for what seemed like the first time in a while, he sounded like himself.Â
it wasnât like jungkook had undergone a drastic change from his time in america, but it was a gradual shift that you felt over a longer period of time. you attributed to the fact that you were no longer teenagers and things werenât going to be the same as it did ten, even five years ago. that was what you told yourself, but you werenât sure why you still held on to the old jungkook you knew.
in that moment, he sounded like the fifteen year old boy you met in a convenience store again. he sounded like the jungkook who wrote you disgusting love songs that were horrible, but you adored anyway. he sounded like the man who you talked about children and a big house and an annoying dog with.Â
as you found the bravery to finally pull away from jungkookâs comforting embrace, you looked up and saw that future in his eyes. his features softened, but he looked sad. your heart sank once again.
âyouâre not just crying because iâm enlisting, are you?â he finally spoke, just above a whisper. his tone was certain, barely a question - after ten years together, jungkook knew you better than you knew yourself.
you froze. there was nothing else you could do but shut your eyes tight, pretending that this wasnât really happening.
after a beat, you found your voice. âlisten. . .we both know what happens after a man enlists. look at taehyung and jimin. look at your cousin.âÂ
over the years, you and jungkook had gone through hell and back. you thought the worst day of your life was when dispatch leaked the news that you were dating five years ago, but you were able to recover. you thought it was the worst day of your life when your breakup was witnessed by the entire world, but you were able to recover. you even thought the worst day of your life was when word got out that you and jungkook got back together, effectively proving that you were weak and were the type of girl to crawl back to her ex. you recovered then, as well.
at the second part of your sentence, you felt jungkook physically tense up.
âis that why youâve been acting weird lately?â he replied.
you donât know where it came from, but something triggered a spark of anger in you. still, with a tear stained face and a runny nose, you opened your eyes and met his. this was not something you would be able to recover from.
you said, âit hasnât just been lately, jungkook. you know exactly whatâs on my mind, weâve been talking - â
â - and you know what my answer has been, baby. you know what kind of position iâm in,â he interrupted, breaking apart from your hold and the blanket he brought for you.
he wasnât wrong. you did know what kind of position he was in. one of the biggest stars in the world and he had everything to lose, especially with the anxieties looming in the air for him and the rest of his group. every one of them were on their toes as soon as their enlistment dates were finalized, fearing their fade from the spotlight. you and the rest of the world knew that it was bullshit, that the bts was going to be forgotten just because they were going into the military for a few years.Â
marriage would surely ruin that further, right?
you said, âand you know what position iâm in.â
the careless joys of your early twenties had come and gone, which left you at the mercy of your motherâs constant talks about marriage. not just her, but other family members and even some of your friends. after all, you and jungkook had been together for ten years and you were pushing thirty sooner or later.Â
you also had your own fears in regard to your career. jungkook once laughed when you expressed your worries about the public no longer finding you young and pretty, but it was a real fear. most girl groups didnât last more than a few years. many of your contemporaries had long said goodbye to their idol persona and went their separate ways from their band for a new life. you were considered a lucky one to remain with your group and maintain relevance, but for how long? was it time for you to finally settle down? you werenât granted the same longevity as jungkookâs renowned group and you werenât bitter about it, but nervous.
snowflakes began to fall once again and as one fell on your eyelashes, you noticed jungkookâs jaw clench.Â
âweâve talked about this,â he said and you knew your wandering thoughts about a potential proposal were too good to be true.
you began, âlook, i know that things are different for people like us. . â but, things were changing. in recent years, you watched several of your peers get married and have children without losing their spot in the limelight.Â
ây/n. . .what made you think i changed my mind?â jungkook sighed, pacing back and forth to calm himself down.
 âi just thought. . .â
âiâm sorry, but i wasnât going to propose before my enlistment.â this time, jungkookâs frustrations melted away and there was genuine sadness in his voice.Â
he stepped closer to you and put his hands on your waist. you didnât know what to say. you really had been pretending that his strange behaviour was because of a hope that seemed impossible now.Â
you took a deep breath. âyou never said no. you made it seem like you were considering it.â
that was what silenced jungkook. it was true, there was never an outright refusal from jungkook. he would say things that implied he would talk to his company again or âwith timeâ it would come. he gave you just enough reassurance, but never confirmation.Â
continuing, you said, âand you even indulged in keeping the fantasy alive with me. youâre sick for talking about honeymoon destinations with me and suggesting songs we could dance to.â
âhey. iâve said time ands time again that there is no future where you arenât by my side,â jungkook tried getting you to look at him, but every time he moved, you turned away.Â
there was no reason for you to make eye contact. you felt like a fool and if you met his eyes, you knew you would just burst into tears again. then, you thought about your conversation earlier with your friends and your vision became wet again.
âwere you planning to break up with me before you enlisted?â
âwhat? no,â he responded, but you werenât convinced.Â
you responded, âit was going to be inevitable, wasnât it? like jimin and taehyung. you were going to be done with me.â
this time, jungkook forced you to look at him by the chin and your shoulders dropped. there was a crease in between his eyebrows that you donât remember seeing even just a year ago. he looked more tired than he did as a rookie with barely survivable living standards.Â
âtime really goes by, huh?â you murmured, fighting to keep your voice stable.
âwe were never going to break up, love,â jungkook maintained.
still, his words didnât penetrate further than surface level. you were left numb and the chill of winter in seoul had nothing to do with it. you wished that someone would just call jungkook away, but the party inside continued on without him.Â
âyou bought a ring. i saw it when we video called.â
jungkookâs lips parted. you knew it. you knew you werenât losing your mind. over the last ten years, you made some crazy accusations for all kinds of reasons. this time was different and you saw it on his face.
even after what seemed like forever, jungkook couldnât find words to say. the longer he waited to speak, the faster your heart began to race.Â
he rubbed his temples and finally, he spoke. jungkook spoke and you immediately dropped the blanket he brought for you, dashing right back inside. you walked past every single attendee and ignored the few that cried out your name. you didnât care what it looked like. you just knew you had to get out of there.
jungkook said there was a ring. he began to open his mouth and explain further, especially when he read the horrified expression on your face, but you wanted no part in it. there was no room for you to think about what that meant. you only saw red.
you werenât sure why you wanted a proposal so badly. you knew you didnât care that much about what your mother wanted and getting married was no solution to the prospects of a dying career. you were second guessing if your wishes for a wedding were even genuine.Â
on the other hand, maybe you intended for the wedding to be a solution to a dying relationship.Â

You lived through it all. Through every storm and golden dawn alike, youâve walked beside himâJungkook, through the raw and uncertain trainee years, standing shoulder to shoulder when he made that long-awaited debut with your other friends, with the cheers of a scattered handful of ARMYs filling the gaps of an empty room. And youâalways there, even when unjustified criticism hit them like fists in the dark, when the suffocating shadows of hate and pushbacks tried to choke out their light. You were there when sleepless nights were a currency, and saesangs turned life into a nightmare not fit for the faint-hearted. You were there during all those late-night talks, when exhaustion and doubt dragged them to the brink of disbandment, and youâyou, held onto them with all the strength you had left.
You lived through it all. You walked this path with him, through the milestones of gloryâtheir first triumphant entrance on the Billboard 200, the moment they lent their voices to a UNICEF campaign, the awe that filled you as you stood in the last rows of that historic U.N. speech, watching them rise and rise as if they could never stop. You were there when the sold-out stadiums roared, when Jungkookâs nerves shook just before he walked onto that colossal stages, and in the quiet moments behind the curtains, you became his grounding, his releaseâyour lips open, throat pulsing around his dick as the world waited for him to sing.
Once, you believed, truly, that what you had was unbreakable, a love of once-in-a-lifetime, and you knewâ*knew*âthat Jungkook felt it too. It was there, lingering in every glance, every touch, every whispered word. And because, when the breaking point finally came, when one triumph followed another, when at long last, *finally*, the whole world, not just ARMY, recognised their worth, when the frantic pace of success nearly swallowed them whole, you made your decision. You walked awayânot out of lost love, no, never that. Love was still there, burning too fiercely for words. But you thought you were sparing him, thought you were freeing him from another tether, another weight pulling him down, when his focus should be solely on his dream, his passion. You thought, perhaps, you were doing the right thing, even despite the way his pleas and tears seared themselves into your memory, begged you to stay, haunting you even now, even when your eyes arenât closed.Â
Those days after the breakupâthey were bitter and coldânot easy, not for either of you. You saw him on screen, thriving, yes, but hurting in a way you knew all too well. The incident in November 2019âyour first and only date after the split, after Jungkook, when a stitch couldnât leave his mouth shut, reaching Jungkookâs ears, and suddenly his performance at the Lotte Family Concert became something else altogetherâsavage, fierce, almost a message to you, reverberating through the very core of your being. Something shifted the air back then, in him, in you, in the whole world.
You realised then, that Jungkook wasnât just an ex, but a petty one at that. You should have known better. One offhand comment in passing to his mother about his hairâhow you missed the look of it untouched by dye, lamenting that his soft, natural locks were lost beneath the constant colouringâand suddenly, every week he was colouring it anew, as though each hue was a small act of rebellion against you. The games continuedâthe thirst traps, the little taunts, even in every piece of merch he touched, designs you once dreamt up together in those hazy trainee years. You, lying beside him in the cramped dorm, building fragile sandcastles of what could be, of dreams yet unspoken. And now, those same castles crumbled as he used them to fuel his quiet, calculated rebellion.
And yet, somehow, it was still a surprise when the text arrived. Jungkook himself, inviting you to his surprise gig at Times Square. You hesitated, wrestling with your pride, your pain. But in the end, for old timesâ sake, you relentedâjust one last favour, you told yourself.
And now, here you stand. He had slipped out of the room just after you arrived, and you watch from the window as the world goes wild, Jungkook commanding the stage as effortlessly as he breathes. The ache within you deepens, the love, the longingâthey havenât dimmed in all those years, not even for a moment.
When he finally returns, still glistening with sweat, fresh from the exhilaration of the performance, his presence floods the room, the light he is piercing every fibre of your being.Â
"Hey," he breathes through his panting, that soft voice slipping through the air like a secret only you are meant to hear. He smiles, and the familiarity of it twists your gut in the worst way possible. He grabs and drowns a bottle of water in one go, his Adamâs apple bobbing in a way that sends your heart skipping, unbidden.
And you, standing there, trying to hold your composure as the man who once was yours invades your very senses. Every drop of sweat that trickles down his neck, every movement of his tattooed arms, every unspoken memory lingering in the air. You canât stop the surge of arousal, the way your body betrays you as your thighs press together, seeking some small relief from the tension he brings.
And when Jungkook motions for you to sit beside him on that small loveseat, your legs, weak and trembling, carry you there almost on instinct. His thigh brushes against yours as he sits down, the touch so achingly familiar it almost hurts too much to bear. You feel that old connection, sparking back to life with everything said, with everything kept in silence between you.
âI invited you here for a reason,â he murmurs, leaning forward, elbows on his knees, the sincerity in his gaze captivating your every thought. "I canât keep on going like this," he continues after a short pause, voice weighted with something deeper than exhaustion, something that seems to eat him alive.
You respond with a gentle push, instinctively deflecting, faking an easygoing happiness. "But you're doing so well, Jungkook. Your dreamâs finally yours. You canât walk away now."
âItâs not about that,â he replies, quieter now, as though his resolve softens in the space between your words.
Jungkook straightens, taking your hand, his inked fingers finding yours with that familiar tenderness, like all the lost days between you never happened. He strokes your soft skin, the gesture so achingly reminiscent of the way he used to hold you, back when the world somehow seemed simpler, back when the two of you were all you needed.
His voice deepens, the softness in his tone soothing like your very personal lullaby. "I canât live another day without you by my side."Â
His words shake your heart, each syllable removing the distance that time and hurt had created. Your eyes tremble, silver lining your lash line, as silence is everything that escapes your mouth.Â
Jungkook leans in, gently tucking a stray lock of hair behind your ear. âI love you,â the confession rolling from his lips like something inevitable, as though it was always meant to be spoken, in the past, in this moment, and in every possible future. âI still love you, with everything I am. And I know you feel it too. Letâs not try againâweâre beyond that. I know weâre meant to be. Letâs just be together.â
Your lips quiver as the dam finally breaks, silent tears slipping down your cheeks. Thereâs no noise, no grand release, just a quiet cascade of everything youâve held in and pushed back for so long. And in that stillness, you finally find your voice, speaking every word out of the depth of your soul. âYes, Kook, please.â
Your lips crash into his with a force that makes your whole body tremble. You push him back with such ferocity that heâs not able to keep sitting upright, and before you know it, youâre climbing on top of him, his hands digging into your sides, pulling you closer, as though he could never have you close enough. His tongue teases along your lips, the cool metal of his lip piercings brushing your skin, sending another wave of hot arousal out of you. You open your mouth, letting him in. His taste is the sameâmint drops, just like all those years agoâand it awakens a hunger in you, a longing that has only grown more ravenous with time.
Your fingers tangle in his soft hair, pulling at it, at the black fabric of his dress shirt, ripping the buttons open as though the world outside doesnât exist. Jungkook is just as frenzied, stripping you of your clothes, his own following without a beat, the desperation between you highlighting, almost painful, as if trying to make up for all the lost time. Youâve seen him on screen, admired the way his body has changed, matured, but nothing could have prepared you for the reality of him. Jungkook looks like a greek god carved from marble, every muscle sculpted to perfection, and his cock stands proud, thick and throbbing like a prize waiting to be claimed.
âIâm never letting you go again,â he rasps, pulling you up with him, your legs wrapping around his tiny waist, your slick cunt brushing against him with each step he takes.
Jungkook carries you to the table nearby, lips never leaving yours, kissing you as though he might devour you, and as his mouth travels down your neck, over your collarbone, and to your breasts, as he sweeps everything off the table with a careless shove, lowering you onto it, you think you found euphoria just then.
âJungkook,â you moan, arching into him as his tongue flicks over your nipple, his hand pinching and twisting your other, his hips grinding against your dripping core with a raw need that nearly sends you spiralling right then and there.
âIâm going to chain you to me,â he growls against your skin. âGoing to fuck you until youâre too dumb to walk away again.â
âYes,â you whimper, as your body clenches and trembles, your release washing over you like a wave, too intense to hold back, the stimulation from his hands, his mouth, his cock rubbing against your slick folds just too overwhelming.
âFucking scream my name,â he demands, grabbing your face roughly, forcing your mouth open with his thumb and forefinger.
âJungkook,â you gasp, his cock sliding through your wetness as you come down from your high. You try to close your mouth, but he spits into it, his eyes dark with lust, watching you swallow with a mix of satisfaction and need.
âThatâs right, babygirl,â he smirks lazily. âIâm going to fuck you stupid now. Youâre still on birth control?â
âYes,â you manage to breathe, trembling as he grabs his cock, pumping it a few times before lining up with your entrance, clenching in anticipation.
âShame,â he growls, his words dripping with dark desire. âWould love to fuck a baby into you, show everyone who you belong to.â
His words make you moan, your body responding to the filthy promise in his voice. âOh, you like that, donât you, baby girl?â he grins.
He grabs a fistful of your hair, dragging your mouth to his as he thrusts into you, his cock filling you completely, stretching you in a way that brings a sharp, sweet pain, the kind of pain youâve been craving for years. You cry his name into his mouth, every inch of you vibrating with the sensation of him.
âFuck, I love you so much,â he groans. âYouâre the fucking love of my life.â His pace picks up, becoming relentless, his hips slamming into you, desperate to make up for all the years you were apart.
You drink him in, the sight of him so raw and beautifulâhis eyebrows drawn together, eyes squeezed shut, head thrown back in ecstasy. His hands grip the back of your knees, pulling you towards him, keeping you close as he drives into you over and over, the rough surface of the table scraping your lower back. His balls and thighs slap against your ass with such force that you know youâll be bruised, but you welcome it. You embrace every desperate thrust, every rough touch, pouring all of yourself into this moment.
âFuck, Jungkook, Iâm coming,â you cry out, gripping his arms for support, feeling yourself unravel under the intensity of it all.
âFucking come for me! Cream my cock like youâre made for it.â
His words send you over the edge, your body shattering into a million stars, as brilliant and infinite as the ones that glimmer in Jungkookâs eyes when he looks down at you. And you know, in that moment, that youâre home. Truly home, where everything makes sense.
Your cunt clenches around him, and thatâs all it takes to push him into his own release. He lets out a deep, guttural groan, his body buckling over you as he empties himself inside you, his breath mingling with yours, his heart pounding against your chest, both of you lost in the blissful haze of it all.
You stroke the back of his head tenderly, feeling his racing heartbeat gradually slow, matching the rhythm of your own.
When you both finally come down from the high, you lock eyes. His boyish smile spreads across his face, just like it did all those years ago, and you canât help but mirror it.
âChain me to you, hm?â you tease, your eyes gleaming with playful mischief. âThatâs not the romantic Jungkook I know.â
A blush creeps up his cheeks and ears as he pulls out of you, grabbing the discarded tissue box from the floor to clean you both up without saying a word. But you notice the growing tension in his body, the slight shift in his demeanour, and a flicker of unease stirs in you.
âKook?â you ask carefully, but he only glances at you briefly before turning to his duffel bag in the corner of the room, rummaging through it.
When he turns back around, your heart plummets to the floor. Itâs not fear or worry that seizes you, but the overwhelming brightness of joy, happiness so intense it almost paralyses you.
âIâve carried this with me since our first stadium tour,â he says softly, stepping closer. âBut I was always too scared I wasnât enough.â
He kneels before you, still naked, and you donât allow yourself to breathe, to blink. â___, will you do me the honour of marrying me?â
Tears stream from your eyes once more, and you nod, unable to speak for a moment, your heart bursting like a confetti gun with every emotion under the sun. Finally, you whisper, âYes,â and kiss him, knowing without a doubt that heâs the one. Always was, always will.

"like" | oikawa, hq
đ⨞đ˘Ö´ŕťđ§ŕžŕ˝˛ - "like" by bts (lyrics are bolded)

content: another sleepless night and oikawa is scrolling through your profile...again warnings: angst..? (kinda), open-ended, oikawa is down bad, post-breakup character(s): oikawa word count: 259 a/n: i took inspo from lyrics of "like" by bts bc its my fav song from them haha...also not proofread sorry!
đ đ đ đ đ
oikawa knew it was wrong to click your profile again.
he couldnât help it.
your face on every post and every comment left by admirers only ticked him off more.
âthat guy who throws likes on every photo you upload, who's he?ââ
laying on a single mattress with his chin propped on a volleyball, he attentively pressed onto every profile. the alarm clock read [3:00 AM] and marked another sleepless night for him.
âi look better than himâ he scoffs as he squints at the brightly lit screen. he knew he had to exit the random commenterâs profile before he spiraled in too deep.
it was to only mask the deep guilt he felt after the breakup; the patheticness of seeing how well you were doing after all these months.
"you still look good and it annoys me, pretty woman"
you were a vision after all; everything about you was annoyingly perfect. seeing you smile with another only shoved the regret down his throat.
the brunette sighs as his finger hovers over the heart button.
should he do it?
apart of him wanted to see if it would do anything.
would you think anything of it?
would he start to occupy your mind as much as you do to him?
it wouldnât and he knows that all too well. you were doing just fine on your own.
but still, he thought to himself as it was so tempting. he wanted to put his pride aside.
what difference would it make?
his jaw clenched as he clicked like.
ââshit.â

AUTHORâS NOTE ⏠i'm sorry in advance !!!! not really. suffer. happy birthday chenle. i hate (love) you so. very. very. much. title and fic based on my apology letter by kim yeon woo!
PLAYLIST ⏠my apology letter - kim yeon woo, who - lauv (feat. bts), lie with you - ten, line without a hook - ricky montgomery, the scientist - coldplay
CHENLE SITS DOWN, AND BEGINS WRITING HIS LETTER.
Heâs lost track of how many times heâs sat in this exact seat. It used to be different. So different. At first it was nice. You were beautiful in every way possible. Kind, patient, and thoughtful. You always made him feel like the most important person in the world, even while surrounded by others. This table was a place of warmth, laughter, and love. Now the mood was only as tense as ever.Â
He takes a deep breath, letting his thoughts consume him as he begins to write.Â
I miss your laugh. I miss making you laugh. I miss that joyous echo of good times I could feel around the apartment, and I swear to god it was my favorite sound ever. I miss that. I miss us.Â
He remembers how the mornings would go. Youâd both sit at the table, sharing a simple warm breakfast that you or him had prepared. All that really seemed to matter was the two of you in that moment of time. Â
He looked at you, the sunlight reflecting off of your face. You were always smiling at your phone, lips quirking as your fingers began typing. You placed your phone against your chest after hitting send, waiting for him to react.Â
As Chenle was absentmindedly scrolling through the news, he noticed a notification pop up on his screen.
My Love: âYou okay? Youâve been quiet today.â
Quiet, huh? You always enjoyed texting him to get his attention. Thought it was funny. He looked up to see you smiling at him with a concerned expression. Not wanting you to worry too much Chenle smiled and shook his head, but did not say anything else.
The two of you continued eating in silence.Â
Chenle sets down the pen, this burden in his chest growing heavier. Where did it all go wrong with you two?
The two of you used to be inseparable. Days consisted of stolen glances, shared jokes, silly photos and videos, small moments that brought this intimacy together. Now, you barely interact with each other, barely talk to each other. His mind drifts to details of last night.Â
You sat on the floor, folding the laundry in front of the TV. Your movements were slow and graceful, thoughtfully folding every article of clothing. Chenle sat on the couch behind you, staring mindlessly at the TV, playing some show he couldnât care less about. He didnât look at you, you didnât look at him.
The silence was tense and deafening, yet neither of you made moves to break it.
Chenle picks up the pen again with a stronger grip.
I donât know how we got here. I donât know how to fix it. Actually, thatâs a lie. I do. But maybe Iâm not cut out for that. I know Iâm losing you, and it feels like Iâm losing myself too.
Chenleâs mind drifts to a day where everything seemed perfect, but always something tugging at the back of his mind.
The amusement park date. Your laughter was vibrant and warm, eyes sparked with determination as you tossed beanbags, threw balls at cans, aimed darts, always determined to best him. The two of you definitely had a competitive streak, but Chenle always made the sacrifice for you. You ended up winning a small stuffed dolphin, holding it high above your head like a trophy.
Chenle mock pouted, and laughed, âGuess Iâll stick to basketball.â He pulled you into his arms, the dolphin nearly squished between you as he pecked your cheek, while the two of you broke out into fits of giggles.Â
But even in the moment of happiness and joy, there was still something eating at him from inside.Â
Chenle grips his pen tighter as he recalls those fleeting moments of joy, moments that now feel bittersweet. He lets the ink flow on the paper again, writing some more.
I think about how happy weâve been, and yet thereâs always this weight, this worry I canât stop thinking about. Even in our brightest moments, something felt... off. Itâs not because of you, but because of me. It's slowly destroying me.
Later that evening, the two of you had dinner at your favorite restaurant. Chenle thinks about the way your face lit up when the waiter placed your meal in front of you. He could never get over these small things that you did that make his heart feel giddy as well.Â
You slipped out your phone and took a photo of the meal, sending it to him with a caption to the photo.
My Love: [Photo Attached]
My Love: "We should make this at home sometime! Youâre practically a chef. đ"
Chenle chuckled, replying out loud, âOnly if you clean it up afterwards.â
You smirked and rolled your eyes, ignoring him as you dove into your meal. For a while, everything felt easy, like it used to.
But then you got home.
It started with something small. Just a simple misunderstanding about weekend plans. Chenle couldnât even remember the exact details now, only how frustrated he felt when his words seemed to fall short. Heâd tried to explain, stumbling over his thoughts, but the look on your face never changed. You remained calm, patient, nodding along as if you understood every word.
You always did thatânodded and smiled. But had you really understood him?
Chenle sets the pen down again, and stares at the words he just wrote on the page.
"You always tried to meet me where I was, even when I couldnât meet you halfway. I see that now. And I hate that I didnât see it sooner."
He swallows hard, glancing toward the bedroom door. The stuffed dolphin you won that day lay peacefully tucked away in the closet. It reminds you of the time when things were simpler, or maybe just felt that way.
He stares at the words, hoping theyâll somehow fix whatâs broken. But words alone arenât enough.
They never have been.
Chenleâs been so lost in his memories and thoughts that he hasnât noticed how much time has passed. He lifts his head and sees you standing in the kitchen. Youâve been here the whole time.
Preparing a lunch for the two of you, you move quietly, chopping the vegetables and stirring a pot on the stove. He barely hears your movements, soft and careful. He wonders if you feel the tension between you two as acutely as he does.
And for that moment, he just watches you. Your posture is relaxed, your head tilted slightly as if youâre caught in your own world. You seem so at peace, and it breaks him.
Chenle wants to reach out to you. To stop this moment from becoming what he knows it has to be. He wants to take your hand, to hold on to you just a little longer. But he knows thatâs selfish. This cannot wait.
He swallows hard, his throat tightening as he tears his gaze away from you. His hands clenched into fists on the table, fingers trembling slightly. This is it.Â
Taking a deep breath, Chenle forces himself to speak. His voice is low, almost breaking, the words that come out of his mouth are barely audible.
âY/N, letâs break up.â
Chenle had been distant lately, but you didnât press him. He always had this quiet side to him, and you figured heâd come around when he was ready. You trusted him.
Lunch was extra special today. You were making tteok-bokkiâChenleâs favorite. It wasnât a particularly hard dish, but he appreciated the effort you put in for it. You focused on the ingredients, the soft sizzle of the stove and the aroma that filled the kitchen. Smells like these made everything feel brighter.
You lost yourself in the rhythm of cooking, chopping vegetables and stirring the sauce until it thickened just right. He had taught you how to make the dish originally, cooking it to perfection until you got it just the way he liked it.
You glanced over your shoulder at him briefly. He was at the dining table, hunched over something. A notebook? His phone? You couldnât tell. He didnât look up.
It wasnât like him to be so withdrawn. Heâd always tryâheâd send funny memes or silly videos to make you smile. Lately, though, his texts had seemed less and less. You told yourself he was just busy, and would make time as usual to make it up to you.
When the food was nearly ready, you began washing the dishes in the sink, suddenly remembering something youâd been meaning to ask. You turned around, leaning slightly on the counter, and smiled.
âChenle,â you said, your voice soft but clear. âTake off early for work today and letâs go out to eat dinner together, alright?â
Your hands begin to move, signing something quickly as you mouthed the words out, the gestures being full of emotion to convey your thoughts and feelings. It was your way of making sure he understood. He didnât know a lot of sign language, but he always made the effort to try and guess.
He initially looked at you with a serious face, his lips in a tight thin line. His eyes were conflicted. Why he looked so pained for some reason, you had no idea. But as soon as you started signing his lips curved into a smile once more, a familiar smile that you loved looking at all day long.Â
Eventually after no reaction, Chenle seemed to process your words and nodded his head. He held his hand up in a âokâ position to ensure that he had understood and got the memo.Â
Pleased with his response, you turned back around and finished up your task in the kitchen.Â
Chenle had asked you to prepare him lunch. You suggested his favorite. He needed this moment to himself, to let the words leave his mouth and test the weight of them in the air.
âLetâs break up,â he had whispered while your back was turned. The words had tasted bitter, like ash on his tongue, their weight heavier than he could have anticipated.
But you hadnât heard him.
Youâd been deaf since the moment he met you. He could still remember your first conversation. It was brief and awkward, with you typing out sentences on your phone and holding the screen in front of him. Heâd smiled at how patient you were. A patience you still had today. From that moment, he was hooked.
Yet now, after all this time, he hated himself for how little heâd tried to understand you better.
Chenle leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling. The guilt felt like a heavy weight, weighing his shoulders down.
He loved you. God, he loved you so much. But it wasnât enough. Love alone wasnât enough to bridge the gap of happiness between the two of you.
He thought about all the times you had signed something to him, your gestures full of emotion, but he could only guess their meaning. You never scolded him for not understanding, never grew angry when he needed you to repeat yourself or resort to texting instead. You were always kind and understanding. Patient and calm.Â
But you shouldnât have to be patient. You shouldnât have to wait for him to change. You shouldnât have to wait this long.Â
He had taken advantage of your patience, convincing himself that things would work out eventually. He would catch on quickly. Or so he thought.Â
He had barely scratched the surface of learning sign language, and didnât put in as much effort as he shouldâve.Â
He wasnât enough for her. His mind flooded with these thoughts and revelations. These words were sharp and seemed to pierce his heart, filling him with immense pain.
The gap between his hearing and your not hearing had grown too large, too large to ignore. At first, he had thought together you could leap over it, that your love would be enough. But he was wrong.
You deserved someone who would dive into that gap and build a bridge, piece by piece, brick by brick. Someone who would work to understand every gesture, every look you made, every unspoken word.
He wasnât that person. He would never be that person.
Chenle glanced at the letter on the table, the words he had written laid out before his own eyes. He wanted to say goodbye, but he couldnât find a way to do it face to face. Not properly. Not without him breaking down.Â
Maybe he wasnât strong enough to say the words. Call him a coward. He couldnât face you. He couldnât even say he wanted to break up with you outright. Yet he wasnât brave enough to stay and keep letting you down.
He heard you call his name again, your voice soft and light, the way you always spoke just for him. Your hands moved as you spoke, signing the words with ease, your face glowing after looking at him.Â
And in that moment, he realized: no matter who he met in the future, he would never love anyone the way he loved you.
But that love wasnât enough.
The apartment felt emptier than ever when you walked in one day after work.Â
Youâd noticed the change the moment you opened the door: the subtle shift in the air, the absence of his shoes by the entrance, the way the quiet seemed louder than usual, some space seemed emptier than you remembered. Your chest tightened as you stepped further inside looking around the living room.
Thatâs when you saw it.
A neatly folded envelope sat on the table, your name written on it in Chenleâs familiar handwriting. Beside it, the small dolphin youâd won at the amusement park laid out next to the letter on the table, its glossy black eyes staring back up at you.
You took a deep breath and swallowed, your hands trembling as you picked up the envelope. You didnât open it right away. Instead, you stood there, staring at the letter, trying to steady your breathing for a bit. You knew this was coming. You tried to ignore the signs, but you were correct.
When you finally sat down, it was in the same chair Chenle always used. You never sat in it, since it always seemed like his spot. The cushion still felt warm somehow, as though he had been there just moments ago. You placed the envelope on the table in front of you, staring at it for what felt like an eternity before you finally gathered enough courage to open it.
The letter was written in his careful handwriting, each word deliberate, each line heavy with emotion. As you began to read, tears blurred your vision.
My dearest Y/N,
By the time youâre reading this, Iâll be gone. I know you probably saw it comingâIâve been distant for a while now. And I know you deserve more than this. A goodbye in words rather than on a page. But this is the only way I could say everything I need to.Â
From the moment I met you, you were the brightest part of my life. You lit up every room you walked into. You taught me so much about patience, about kindness, about love.
And I failed you.
Things have been different, havenât you noticed? I miss your laugh. I miss making you laugh. I miss that joyous echo of good times I could feel around the apartment, and I swear to god it was my favorite sound ever. I miss that. I miss us.Â
I donât know how we got here. I donât know how to fix it. Actually, thatâs a lie. I do. But maybe Iâm not cut out for that. I know Iâm losing you, and it feels like Iâm losing myself too.
Iâve tried to convince myself that our love would be enough to bridge the gap between us, that I could make up for my shortcomings. But the truth is, I havenât. Iâve barely tried to learn about you and your world. Youâve carried so much of the burden, of the weight of our relationship, and I just let you.
You deserve someone who wonât let you do that. Someone who will learn every gesture, every sign there is in the vocabulary of sign language, who will work tirelessly to meet you where you are.
That someone isnât me.
I hate myself for not being enough for you. I hate that I couldnât give you what you deserve. And I hate that my love for you isnât enough to fix this.
You always tried to meet me where I was, even when I couldnât meet you halfway. I see that now. And I hate that I didnât see it sooner.
I think about how happy weâve been, and yet thereâs always this weight, this worry I canât stop thinking about. Even in our brightest moments, something felt... off. Itâs not because of you, but because of me. It's slowly destroying me.
I hope that someday, you find someone who will love you the way you deserve to be loved. Someone who will put in the effort I didnât, someone who will never let you feel alone.
Iâll never stop loving you, Y/N. I just hope that letting you go gives you the chance to find the happiness I couldnât give you.
Iâm so sorry.
- Chenle
Your hands trembled, shaking the letter slightly, your tears dripping onto the paper and smudging the ink. You pressed your lips together, trying to stifle the sobs threatening to escape, but it was no use.
The dolphin on the table stared back at you as if it held all the memories youâd sharedâthe laughter, the quiet moments, the love.
You folded the letter carefully, placing it back in the envelope as your tears continued to fall. Sitting there in the silence, you felt the weight of his absence settle around you.
And yet, even through the pain, you couldnât bring yourself to blame him.
Because you understood. And that hurt the most.

I can't believe that for the past 6-7 months, all the hate Ryan Guzman, Buddie fans and journalists got, BT fans doubled it and gave it all AND more to Oliver Stark in the past 2 days. They never really cared about Buck and Oliver at all and it shows.
To Oliver, we are so lucky to have you as a part of 911, you've always been a great ally, you've always cared so much about Buck, and the bisexuality storyline, despite being an (apparently) straight man, you have such a nuanced view about everything related to the queer experience. You care about the fans and their viewpoints, and we couldn't have gotten a better person to play this role. As a bisexual man, your portrayal means a lot to me. And I know I'm not alone. The love we have for you outweighs the little bit of hate you're getting right now.
To BT fans, it's not his fault that despite the narrative and Tim Minear being as clear as they could be without actually saying it, about the fact that Tommy was a mere plot device, with minimal screentime and character development, you people created a completely different version of him, the BT relationship and the show in general, in your own heads and now that it's over, you're lashing out. It's not Oliver's fault that LFJr hijacked the coverage of the bi Buck storyline by making it all about himself, and validating the shallow headcannons of his fans (only after charging $200, mind you), and then continuosly misleading his fans on his socials, up until a day before 8.06 aired.
You all are acting like you were blindsided by the breakup but if you had an ounce of media literacy, you'd know what a plot device is. Just bc your fav fed your delusions, doesn't mean Tommy was ever going to be more than what he ended up as. In fact, Oliver in his interviews for S8 did everything he could to soften the blow for y'all, he was leaving hints, so that you wouldn't be blindsided, and yet y'all have turned on him like this? Ugh.

im going to try to be nice because bucktommy's are going to inevitably see this and im not trying to start shit.
i'm seeing a lot of confused bucktommy's about the breakup. claiming it was a last minute decision, it was because lou didn't want to keep dealing with it (wtv that means), that it makes no since because of 8x05, and a lot of other spiraling bs.
i even saw someone say that buddie is never going to happen because oliver said eddie is straight...
i'm going to break this down as clearly as i can, because i've historically had issues with bt's and comprehension skills.
1. the bucktommy breakup was inevitable from the moment they got together. if for no other reason than tommy himself. from the beginning of their relationship, tommy has decided if buck was ready. not buck. tommy left buck standing on the side of the road aftet their first date because tommy decided he wasn't ready. because buck was nervous to come out to his best friend in public. tommy decided that buck would break his heart and that he wouldn't be buck's last. tommy came into that relationship assuming it would end. not buck, and not the audience. we were just picking up on what tommy was telling us. especially, given the fact that buck was fully ready and able to move past the abby clark of it all. tommy was a bad partner to buck, that's why they broke up.
2. i said this after 8x05, it wouldn't have made since to give us an on screen breakup if the only thing we saw of tommy was the thirty second birthday scene in 8x01. 9-1-1 loves a three ep arc and buck's side of whatever realization he might have started on 8x05. we needed to see more of tommy so it made sense when he broke up with buck. throughout all of 8x05, we saw the seeds of doubt being sowed in tommy. from the hospital scene after denny, to the closing one, tommy realized he didn't fit or at least wouldn't for long. because he never got that built-in family. he doesn't trust/believe that anyone would have his back like that. and he made that choice all on his own.
3. lfj is fine. he's a mulit-million dollar nepo baby. one whose been callled out for negative past behaviors and some people consider that bullying. lfj knew how long he was going to be on the show when he signed the contract to come back. the networks choice not to renew that contract had nothing to do with buddie stans. his storyline was over.
4. i can't even be confident that he's gone. there was a lot of stuff left unsaid or moved past too quickly. now 9-1-1 has a history of bad writing in that regard but they also have a habit of dropping things to only come back to them episodes or even seasons later. if he's really gone well thank god, but if he's not im not totally shocked.
5. i don't know how many times i have to say this. if eddie is gay or bi or demi or wtv, the cast wouldn't be able to say so because it would be a MAJOR spoiler. does no one remember andrew garfield and tom holland lying their asses off about spiderman ffh??? actors are liars, its like the whole bit. buck was straight until he wasn't. let's stop being dense and accept that maybe they aren't telling us everything because that would the defeat the purpose of the show.
look at this point im not just in this for buddie. im in this for an eddie that gets to be unapologetically himself. and im going to emphasize one more time how dangerous and disrespectful it is to force eddie back into the proverbial closet because it doesn't fit your ship.

Liked â
Yandere!Seokjin x fem!reader
Summary: You liked him, liked as in past tense. Liked as in you didnât like him anymore. He didnât believe it for a second, and heâll do anything to make you like him again.
Warnings: Cursing, stalking, Jin is kinda narcissistic?, heâs also mean and delusional, possessiveness, jealousy, voyeurism, smut, drugging, implied kidnapping
Wc: 5.9k
A/n: based on this req! Love the idea, hope you like it!
Disclaimer: This is 100% fiction. I am in no way saying that this is how any member of bts would act. Nor do I condone the actions detailed in the story. This is purely for entertainment purposes only. If any of the warnings trigger you, or youâre under 18 ÂĄdo not read! He met you through Jimin. You were one of Jiminâs best friends, it seemed like he had known you for a long time.
So who were he to ruin Jiminâs image of you, and tell him that you were just so annoying. You were pretty yes, but it was something about your laugh. Something about the way you talked. It just rubbed Jin the wrong way. There are some people you just donât click with, he thought to himself. As he looked at you from across the table. Some people are just not meant to be friends, and thatâs ok. The only problem is that Jimin brought you with him no matter what. It was always âcan y/n come?â. He asked Jimin once why he brought you around all the time.
âShe just broke up with her boyfriend. Cut her some slack man.â
He had answered. But it had been eight months. Which, in his opinion, was more than enough time to heal from a breakup. But you still showed up. Every. Single. Time.
âWhat are you going to order, Jin?â
You asked him, looking back at him from across the table. You were slightly blushing for some reason. Everyoneâs eyes turned to him, waiting for his response. In all honesty, he had been too busy thinking about you, to even read the menu.
âI donât know yet.â
He answered in a stern voice.
âI really like the lobster here, itâs really good.â
Jin almost rolled his eyes at your comment.
âReally? Well I guess Iâll order that!â
He said with an overly excited tone. Not being able to control the sarcasm in his voice. Thankfully the waiter came before you could answer him. Everyone started saying their order, before it was his turn.
âIâll have the salmon.â
He said and looked briefly over at you. To see if youâd have a reaction. You looked puzzled down at the menu for a second.
âIâll have the salmon as well.â
âWait! Jin, wait for me!â
You yelled after him, trying to run in your high heels. He had finally been able to leave. And thankfully he was able to mostly converse with Namjoon during the dinner. He had almost made it into the taxi, but you caught him. He couldnât just shut the door in your face. Heâs not directly mean to you, at least he tries not to be directly mean to you. But god, you were so annoying! Why couldnât you just take a hint and leave him alone?
âWhat?â
You were a little out of breath, and needed a moment to catch your breath before talking.
âI was just- I live on the way to your place. Maybe we could, you know, share a taxi?â
He mentally cursed himself for not shutting the door in your face. Cause now he had to actually be alone with you for at least 10 minutes.
âOh come on, Iâll pay for myself donât worry.â
You said when you saw him hesitating.
âFine.â
He simply answered and jumped in the backseat. Not caring to find an excuse.
âSo, did you have fun tonight?â
You asked him once the taxi started moving. He sighed. Now he had to small talk with you as well.
âYeah it was alright.â
He shrugged. He could see in his peripheral view that you were looking at him.
âThe salmon was so good! You were so right about that one.â
You tried again, once he didnât take the conversation further.
âI didnât say anything to you about it. You just copied me.â
You laughed, thinking that he was just joking.
âYouâre so funny!â
You said in between laughs, and even went as far as leaning over him in a fit of laughter. He sat completely still. Not engaging with you what so ever. Once you realised, you sat back up.
âWe should go out for dinner more together. I think it would-â
âPlease y/n! Just shut the fuck up!â
He suddenly bursted out. He didnât mean to. It just came out.
âYou donât have to talk all the time. Youâre so annoying!â
He looked at you, your smile was no where to be seen. And for some reason he missed it already.
âIâm sorry.â
He quickly mumbled, hoping that your lips would turn at least a little bit upwards. But they didnât. You looked away from him, turning your face completely towards the window. Your entire body was trying the get the furtherest away from him as possible, and it hurt him for some reason. He sighed. Your place was coming up, he would probably feel better once you left the car. Out of sight, out of mind.
âI talk so much because I like you, Jin.â
You said, barley above a whisper. He looked back at you. The taxi stopped, signalising for you to get out.
âI really liked you.â
You gave him a last devastating look before opening the door and stepping out. You shut the door in his face before he could answer. It didnât matter, he was left speechless. And he did in fact not feel any better now that you left the car. He felt even worse.
âLikedâ you said you âliked himâ. As in past tense. As in you didnât like him anymore. He was laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling. He couldnât sleep, and when he canât sleep he starts thinking. It had been a week since the incident in the taxi. The incident where you said you âlikedâ him. Whatever that meant.
He would give you an apology next weekend. Pull you aside before you sit down at the table. Explain that he was just tired, that he didnât mean it. In the moment he meant it, but he didnât mean to say it out loud. He was amazed by the fact that he actually felt sorry for you. He didnât like you, so why was he so obsessed with getting you to like him? Maybe he liked you more than he thought? Nah. He told himself before rolling over and closing his eyes. Trying to think of something or anything else.
Friday came around eventually, and he was ready to meet the boys (and you) at a restaurant. He walked in, a little earlier than usual. He had to pull you aside before you sat down, just so it didnât get awkward.
âYouâre early today, whatâs up bro?â
Jimin lit up once he saw Jin approaching the table. He sat down beside Jimin, briefly looking at the empty seat next to him.
âWhereâs y/n?â
He asked once he realised it was only the two of them. You always arrived with Jimin. He always picked you up, even if it was a longer route. Jin felt weird just thinking about it. What if Jimin had feelings for you? Why would he go to such lengths if he didnât? The feeling in his chest couldnât be described as anything but jealousy.
âSheâs not feeling well.â
He simply commented.
âWhy?â
He asked with a smug face, slightly poking him in the side with his elbow. Jin rolled his eyes, leaning away from him.
âSheâs always with you, itâs not weird that Iâm asking.â
He scolded his younger friend. Jimin stopped, but giggled slightly at his defensiveness.
âWhatever you say man.â
Jimin said, before changing the topic. Jin wondered if you truly was sick, or if you just didnât want to face him. You didnât strike him as a cowardly person. You would probably show up if you could. So the only explanation to why you wouldnât show up to hear his apology, must be that you were sick of course.
But two weeks after that, you didnât show. Two months passed and still no sign of you. Jin wanted to ask Jimin, but he didnât want Jimin to think he actually cared. But he did care. He wanted to apologise for being a dick, thatâs all. His conscience needed to be cleared for him to move on. At least thatâs what he told himself. The first weekend after the two month mark, (not that he kept track of the time or anything), the boys went to watch a football game. It was weird that you didnât show, considering that you loved football. You wouldnât miss out. So Jin decided to ask again.
âIs y/n still sick? Did she fucking break her leg or something?â
He asked Jimin once they had found their places.
âI donât know man. I asked her if she wanted to come, she said she was going with someone else.â
He said and shrugged. Someone else? Why was he hurt that you would rather go with someone else?
âOk, Iâll go get a beer. Anyone want one?â
Namjoon was the only one who raised a hand, small excuses of work in the morning was heard from the others. He squeezed out of the row of seats. He needed to clear his head, he had to stop this obsession he had with you. After the game he would call you, and if you didnât pick up he would go to your house. Enough was enough, he had to see you.
âJin?â
Your voice made him turn around. There you were, two beers in hand and the familiar blue shirt of your favourite team. Your hair was in a ponytail, so he could clearly see your entire face. And you were smiling. Smiling at him like what happened two months and a week ago was ancient history.
âY/n? What are you doing here?â
He mentally face palmed himself for asking something so obvious. You looked down at your shirt and back up at him.
âThe same reason you are, I suppose.â
He laughed awkwardly, before you both went quiet.
âLook, y/n. I just wanted to ap-â
âHey, babe. Iâll hold these for you.â
A manâs voice interrupted him. He looked at the man who approached you take your beers. You looked at him as well before looking back to Jin.
âIâm sorry, this is my boyfriend Hoseok.â
Jin was left speechless at your choose of words to describe the man. You had a boyfriend now?! The feeling of jealousy started to spread through his chest again.
âThis is Jin, Jiminâs friend.â
You told this Hoseok, when he didnât answer. Jiminâs friend? That was it? He was offended by the fact that you didnât view him as more. You had a crush on him for gods sake!
âIâd shake your hand man, but you know.â
He raised the beers in his hand awkwardly. Jin still kept quiet. Not wanting to utter a simple word to the man you dared calling your boyfriend.
âIâll catch up with you, just go back to the seats, ok?â
You told your boyfriend, and he happily complied walking away from the uncomfortable situation.
âWhy are you acting so strange?â
He shook his head.
âI donât know. I just- I thought you had a crush on me. But now you have a boyfriend, so.â
You smiled at him.
âI liked you, yeah. But after you rejected me in that taxi, I moved on. Itâs not that deep, some people just donât click.â
His stomach turned into knots, he hated the way you sounded like him. He hated the way you spoke about him. That it wasnât that deep? Well, it was really deep to him. Extremely deep actually.
âIâm sorry, y/n. I really am. I shouldâve never said those things to you.â
He managed to apologise, regardless of the burning anger he felt inside. How dared you reject him? He rejected you first.
âJin, itâs ok. Seriously. Itâs all in the past.â
You patted his shoulder before taking a step away from him.
âTell the boys I said hi.â
You said before walking away. This was not how this was going to end. He had spent two months and a week thinking about exactly how you would respond, and what would happen after. You were not supposed to be so nonchalant and run away to your new boyfriend. You were supposed to accept his apology and run into his arms. Maybe even give him a kiss and a blowjob for his effort to be so empathetic. He was going to make things right.
He couldnât sleep again. How could he after you basically dumped him? So he started thinking. Why would you do such a thing? Why would you hurt him? He knows that he hurt you, but he apologised. So you should stop whatever prank you got going on and come back to the group. Come back to him. He really didnât know why he felt this need for you. Before all this he literally couldnât stand you. But now itâs like he yearned for you. And it was baffling to him that you didnât feel the same.
Maybe you were just using that Hoseok guy to make him jealous. Yeah, thatâs it. This was your payback. He laughed at the thought and sat up in his bed. Turning on the lamp on his nightstand. Might as well pay you a visit.
He payed the taxi driver before closing the door carefully. It was the middle of the night, not a soul to see in your neighbourhood. He looked up at your apartment building, he knew you lived on the seconds floor. The light in your living room was on. He quickly looked down at his phone. 02:38 am. You shouldâve been asleep already.
He walked over to the other side of the road to get a better view of your living room. Trying to get a glimpse of you in your natural habitat. And to his surprise you were there. Completely naked. He felt a familiar feeling in his groin once he saw what was going on behind those walls. You were on the sofa on top of your new boyfriends dick. Your back was turned towards the window, giving Jin a perfect view of your ass bouncing up and down. Jin ripped his eyes away from you to check if anyone else was seeing this. But no lights were on, and no bystanders. What a freak you were, having sex right in front of a window where anyone could see.
Or maybe you were doing it for him? The curtains were slightly open, just enough open for him to see you. Maybe you didnât shut them completely, for him? Maybe you hoped he would show up after the two of you met the same day? It was working for him. Mesmerised by the way your body moved in pleasure, he slid his hand into his pyjama bottoms. He couldnât help himself. You looked so good, and you were so perfectly placed that he could see the dick going in and out of you. His only wish was hearing you. He wanted to hear you moan so bad. Suddenly you slowed down. Jinâs hand moved faster, trying to reach release before the show was over. Just one last bounce before you sank down beside him. Now facing the window. He continued, now seeing your heaving naked chest sprawled out on the sofa. He was close, very close. And once he saw you get up and walk towards the window completely naked, body glistening, tits slightly bouncing, he couldnât help but feel a euphoric release.
Reality hit him immediately after. In the time it took for him to ride out his orgasm, you had made it to the window. Now staring directly at him. He quickly pulled his hand out of his trousers, turning around to face the wall immediately. The sticky wet spot that made the fabric of his pyjamas stick to his skin, was a shameful reminder. He didnât know if you had seen him. He didnât know if you were calling the police, or still looking at him. But he stood completely still, awaiting his destiny. After a few minutes he pulled his phone up from his pocket, calling for a taxi back to his place.
It wasnât until he heard the taxi pull up he dared turning around. His eyes flickered up to the window. No sight of you, no sight of nothing. The curtains were shut completely this time.
It was Saturday, Jimin had invited the boys to his house for a few drinks and some food. Jin hadnât gotten drunk in some time and quite frankly needed it to forget whatever madness happened the weekend before. So he gladly accept once Jimin proposed the idea in the group chat. Something he would regret.
âCan you get the door? I canât let this burn man.â
Jimin asked and pointed to whatever he was making on the stove. Jin, being the first to show up that night was more than happy to welcome one of his mates, and walked over to the door.
âJin! Itâs so nice to see you again.â
You said and gave him a small hug as you stepped into Jiminâs apartment. He was left speechless. By you, but also by the man that followed you inside. You brought your boyfriend?
âHey man!â
Hoseok said and stretched out his hand for him to shake. Jin just stood there looking at his hand. He couldnât move. Too terrified that this was your way of revenge. You were going to expose him as the creep that jerked off outside your house to all his friends. And on top of that you brought your boyfriend to rub it even more in his face.
âYou know what, Iâm a hugger anyways.â
Hoseok laughed and pulled him in to a tight hug once he didnât shake his hand. Once he pulled away from the hug, Jin smiled at him. He couldnât risk getting on the bad side of Hoseok either. Maybe you told him?
âSorry, Hoseok right?â
He asked and took his hand in his. Your boyfriend chuckled and nodded. What a ray of fucking sunshine of a boyfriend you got. Not completely different to himself, he thought.
âOh please, just call me Hobi!â
He smiled before walking past Jin and following you inside. Jin continued to stand by the door for a second as he heard both you and your boyfriend greet Jimin in the kitchen. He had to talk to you. He had to pull you aside before you got the chance to reveal his big dirty secret. The boys would think he was disgusting, a creep, a weirdo. What the hell was he doing here? He had to run away. Run far far away and never come back.
âAre you ok?â
He got ripped out of his thoughts and realised the tall figure standing in front of him.
âAh, Namjoon. You scared me.â
He tried to play off. As if he wasnât standing in front of the open entrance door just staring out into the hallway.
âIâm ok yeah, but what about you? What have you been up to?â
He said and threw his arm around Namjoonâs shoulders, leading him into the apartment.
âWoah, ok. Itâs only been a week since we last saw each other.â
An hour had passed. You still hadnât said anything. Not even mentioned that night. He had taken a few shots out of agony and suspense. He couldnât get drunk. No, not while you were a ticking bomb ready to ruin his image forever. He had to stay sober so he could defend himself whenever the situation arose. Or if he was lucky enough to get you alone so he could convince you, hell maybe even beg for you not to say anything. He would do anything for you. For you not to say anything, of course.
âI have to go to the bathroom.â
You announced, slightly intoxicated. You were so cute, your face a little red and your words a little slow.
âI have to go to the bathroom too!â
Jin quickly said, getting up quickly. The room got quiet. He realised he had said that a little loud and with a little too much excitement.
âOk.â
You shrugged, walking away from the table. Everyone started talking again, meaning he was in the clear. He stumbled after you.
âAfter you, princess.â
You said as you proudly held the bathroom door open for him. He wouldâve smiled at your joke if this wasnât a serious situation.
âIâm sorry, but I have to go first.â
You mumbled and started unbuttoning your trousers. He nodded. He didnât even have to pee.
âY/n, Iâm so sorry. I didnât-â
âIâm not drunk enough to pee while youâre watching me.â
He panicked at your words and didnât know what to do with himself.
âOh- uh. Do you want me to leave?â
You laughed.
âNo silly. Just turn around.â
He did as instructed.
âIâm sorry, ok? I shouldâve never done that! Please, just donât tell the others y/n. I wonât recover from it.â
He started pleading, still facing the door. You went quiet for a few seconds. He gulped, anxious of what you would answer.
âWhat the hell are you talking about?â
You said and flushed the toilet. He turned around knowing you were finished. You were struggling with the button of your jeans, but looking at him with a confused look.
âAre you playing with me? Please if you are, donât, I canât handle that right now.â
You started washing your hands.
âNo, Jin. I have no idea what youâre talking about. Is this about that time in the taxi again? Cause I told you itâs ok.â
âNo. I mean- uh. Yes?â
He didnât know what to say. Did you really mean it? Had you not seen him that night? A wave of relief washed over him. If you were telling the truth he was the luckiest man alive.
âWhat?â
âItâs about last weekend.â
He tested, seeing if you would remember.
âAnd?â
You asked puzzled. He let out a breath of relief. You were completely clueless.
âI didnât mean to be so awkward with your- ehhh, Hobi.â
He managed to get out, not wanting to call him your boyfriend out loud. Now that he wasnât caught and labelled a total pervert, he still had a chance to win you back.
âMy Hobi, huh? Youâre cute Jin.â
You said as you unlocked the door.
âYouâre forgiven by the way.â
You closed the door behind you, and he quickly locked it. He had never felt more relieved in his entire life. Maybe you werenât looking at him, maybe you were just looking around to see if anyone saw? And maybe he was fortunate enough to be well enough hidden that night to not get caught. Well, he knew he would be more careful the next time. He shook his head, baffled by his own words. The next time? He thought as he flushed the toilet. He didnât understand what he felt towards you, but he wanted there to be a next time. He wanted the next time to be him underneath you, not your stupid boyfriend. He unlocked the door and started walking down the hallway. He didnât want to admit it to himself before, but maybe he actually liked you. Like, liked liked you. He sat back down at the table. Taking another shot now that he could actually get drunk.
âOoo, where are you going?â
Jimin asked you. Jin hadnât heard the first part of the conversation, but pretended he had been here the entire time.
âThis very fancy spa hotel. He said it was an early birthday present.â
You said and looked lovingly at your boyfriend.
âWow, youâre lucky! You must really love her, Hobi!â
âYouâre leaving?â
Jin asked you, ignoring Jiminâs hilarious comment, and quite honestly he didnât want to hear Hobiâs answer to that. You nodded.
âYeah, next Friday.â
He took another shot, drowning the jealousy that was starting to bubble inside him.
âI just donât know what to do with the cats. Iâve asked a bunch of people, but everyoneâs busy.â
âIâll watch them!â
Jin blurted out, almost too excited.
âAre you sure? Iâll pay you if you want to-â
âNo, no need to pay me. Donât have anything happening next weekend anyways.â
âWerenât you going out of town to see your parents next weekend?â
Namjoon asked with confused brows. Jin mentally cursed him for almost ruining his plan.
âNo, thatâs the weekend after. Iâm completely free next weekend, ready to watch some cats.â
You smiled at him, he had missed that smile so much. To ever think that he didnât like your smile was insane. What was even more insane was the fact that he blindly said yes to watch your cats, just to be in your house. But heâll happily feed those little fuckers if it meant that he had full access to your home.
âAgain, thank you so much. Youâre a life saver!â
You yelled out the window of your car as you and your boyfriend drove away. He waved goodbye as he watched the car slowly disappear in the horizon. Once you were gone he hurried into your apartment, ready to snoop around. He only did it to get to know you more of course. He wanted to know every single little thing about you that only your home could reveal. He sat down on the sofa on the exact spot where he saw you have sex. He felt the soft fabric between his fingers, thinking of that night. He slowly laid down face first, wanting to be close to the spot where you sat completely naked. He rubbed his cheek on it, slightly smelling hints of your perfume. He could stay like that forever. Just frolicking in your scent.
But one of your cats jumped up beside his face, ruining the moment. He got up, annoyed at the grey fluffy animal. He silently pushed the cat off, but when it once again jumped up beside him he decided to look around somewhere else.
He found the bathroom, opening up the cupboard next to the mirror. Some makeup, some skin care, tweezers, tampons. Nothing exciting. He opened the door to your shower, nothing but numerous soaps. He looked over at the bin for a second and wondered if he was willing to go that low. Once he saw your dirty laundry he decided against it. He opened the lid and started digging, a mixture of your perfume and your natural scent hit him. He had never been happier. He suddenly stopped and pulled out a singular thong. It was baby pink with lace. He imagined how good you would look in it. He stuffed it in his hoodie, deciding to venture off to your bedroom.
He immediately opened the nightstand, hoping for something good. And you delivered. Toys of all kinds in different flashy colours. He smiled as he picked up the hot pink dildo. He wondered if you ever thought of him while using it. The thought alone making his pants feel tighter. He walked back to the sofa, he knew what he wanted to do now.
Jin was watching tv in your house once he heard the door open. He knew you would be arriving that day, so he managed to be on his best behaviour and not jerk off in every room of your apartment that day. Small things to make you happy. He quickly got up to welcome you.
âYou got home quite late, I was starting to worry.â
No he wasnât, he knew exactly at what time you would be home. He found a copy of your reservation at the hotel and calculated the time it took for you to get here. But he wanted you to know that he cared.
âNo need, Iâm home.â
You gave him a forced smile. Something was wrong. A feeling of excitement rushed through him. You came home alone, did this mean that-? Did you really break up with Hobi? He held back a smile.
âHere let me help you.â
He said and reached for your suitcase. Your grip tightened.
âNo itâs fine.â
You simply said and rolled it into your apartment. He headed you sigh. He wanted to wait a little longer to see if you would break. Hoping that you would tell him the good news and not let the suspense kill him.
âCan we talk?â
You asked and looked back at him, removing your coat. He nodded understandingly as he took your coat before you could protest and hung it up. You walked over to the kitchen table and sat down. Putting your head in your hands.
âDo you want something to drink? I can make you-â
âNo, Jin. Please just sit down.â
You were visibly upset, so he followed up on your request. Sitting down opposite of you. You took a few seconds before you started talking.
âDo you care to explain why you did what you did while I was gone?â
You asked and looked up at him. He froze. This was not the good news he was expecting. This wasnât happening. How could you know?
âWhat are you talking about?â
He said and tried to laugh it off. You shook your head.
âSo youâre telling me you have no idea what Iâm talking about?â
You asked strictly. He gulped.
âNo, y/n. Iâve just been watching your cats. Did I do something wrong?â
You let out another sigh before you pulled up your phone. You touched the screen a few times before your turned it around, showing him exactly what you were talking about. He watched in horror as he saw himself in your bed with his hand around his dick. The other hand was holding your underwear under his nose.
âThere are many more of these videos.â
You said as you retracted your phone.
âI donât need to see them.â
He quickly answered as you put your phone back in your pocket.
âFine, but I want to know why, Jin.â
His mind was racing. How the fuck was he supposed to dig himself out of this one? You had physical proof now. He couldnât deny it anymore.
âI didnât know I was being filmed.â
He muttered as a poor excuse.
âMe neither. I set those cameras up when I didnât think I would find someone to watch the cats. Unfortunately for you I forgot to take them down.â
He went silent again, slipping his hands into his deep pockets. Feeling around, trying to come up with a solution.
âPlease tell me you have a logical explanation for all this. Why did you masturbate every single day with my stuff while I was gone?â
You seemed more upset that you couldnât make any sense out of it, compared to what he actually did. Maybe if he just confessed you would forgive him.
âI like you, y/n. No, I actually think I love you. Iâm in love with you.â
He blurted out. You were taken aback at his sudden honesty.
âI donât understand why, I used to hate you. I never liked you. But ever since the incident in the taxi I havenât been able to take my mind off you.â
He reached for your hand over the table, but you quickly pulled away.
âI love you, y/n!â
âSo why didnât you tell me? Why did you do this instead? You realise how fucking crazy you sound right now, right?â
You snapped back at him. Coughing slightly afterwards at your sudden outburst.
âLet me make you a cup of tea, itâll help with that cough.â
He said calmly. You shook your head.
âI donât want tea, I want you to leave my house right now!â
âPlease, can we just talk about this like adults? I donât want to fight with you.â
You stopped, wanting to hear what he had to say.
âLet me put the kettle on, and Iâll tell you everything. Just please, I care about you.â
You touched your throat as you slowly nodded. He quickly got up and started the kettle.
âI did it because I didnât want to ruin your relationship. I saw how happy you were with Hobi. I thought this was my only way to be close to you.â
He tried his best to get you to feel sorry for him. He knew you would be much better off with him than that excuse of a boyfriend you had. He just wanted to pull on your heartstrings. Even if it was completely a lie.
âI just- sorry. Iâm sorry. But Iâm crazy about you, y/n. Iâve never felt like this before. I didnât know what to do.â
You looked down at the table as he prepared your tea.
âDo you want sugar and milk?â
He asked carefully.
âJust sugar.â
You answered after a few beats of silence. You were clearly fighting some sort of mental battle. But it was alright, he was going to make that decision for you.
âI really care about you. Iâve been nothing but a dick to you, I know. But I want to make it up to you.â
He placed the tea on the table before you. You stirred it a couple of times as you waited for the tea to get ready.
âItâs just really uncomfortable, Jin. Yes I used to have a crush on you but that doesnât give you the right to do such things.â
You scolded him as you brought the cup to your mouth slightly blowing at the hot beverage.
âAgain, Iâm sorry.â
He said and bowed his head in fake defeat. This wasnât his loss. Sooner than later you would be his.
âI donât know if I can forgive you. I need time to think about all this. Itâs all too much for me right now.â
You took a sip, feeling the sweet warm drink soothe your sore throat. You immediately took another big sip to get the feeling back.
âI get it. Iâll give you all the time you need when we get to your new home.â
He said bluntly. You crossed your eyebrows at his comment.
âMy new home?â
He nodded.
âYouâll love it there. Just you and me. We can spend as much time as youâd want to heal all the shitty things Iâve done to you.â
You shook your head.
âWhat? What are you talking about?â
You felt your sight getting blurry, your body suddenly felt really heavy.
âWhat- what have you done to me?â
You slurred as you fell back in your chair. Tears forming in the corners of your eyes as you felt yourself loosing control of your body.
âItâs ok, baby.â
Jin got up from his chair and walked over to you. In your last efforts you slung yourself off the chair and onto the floor, trying to crawl away from him.
âIâm sorry, but I had to do this. Iâm sure youâll forgive me once you realise what an amazing life weâll have together.â
He bowed down and grabbed you. Making you look at him. Finally you would be his and his only.
âFuck you.â
You managed to say before the drugs made you close your eyes and fall limp in his arms. You looked beautiful, he thought. Like sleeping beauty just waiting for him to save you. It would probably take some time for you to forgive him, but like he said, he would give you all the time you needed. And eventually you would realise that you were made for each other. He would make sure of that.

ten years of being one and the same with jungkook as the country's it couple is the perfect disguise for the reality of a tumultuous relationship hidden behind the scenes.
đđđđđđđ: a party at the notorious hotel azure, the hot-spot for the top names of south korea's entertainment industry, goes awry. in front of everyone, your relationship reaches it's breaking point - except, it doesn't. đđđđđđđđđđ: idol!jungkook/female idol!reader and fictional versions of various idols đđđđđ. idol au, on-and-off relationship, angst, i swear there's fluff, fake dating, and themes of first love, growing up, struggles with fame, and marriage (ish) đđđđđđđđ. portrayal of a toxic couple (implications of emotional abuse and control), both main characters are very flawed, violence, infidelity, foul language, substance use (illegal drugs) đđđđ. based off of "you're losing me" by taylor swift. this is a fictional portrayal of real-life people that implement some aspects of real-life events. extra warning for heavy substance abuse in this chapter - the usage of this is not meant to be glamourized in any way. i don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, so please note the underlying commentary on idol life and substance use. as someone who has been diagnosed with substance use disorder, i encourage learning about its complexities and ending stigma around it. there is also a quick note at the end of the chapter regarding its ending. ă

¤april 2018
two years made a night and day difference in your relationship. after the highs and lows that brought several short-term breakups, 2018 was supposed to be your and jungkookâs year. it was a fresh start and the turn of your early twenties was the world at your fingertips. young, beautiful and wealthy - it was a dream for any idol in south korea.Â
a fresh start wasnât always easy when skeletons lurked in your closet, though. watching your boyfriend pace back and forth in his kitchen, a glass of whiskey on the rocks at hand, jungkook looked completely different. you werenât sure if youâd finally snapped out of the daze that framed him as a teenager, bursting with energy, but things hadnât been the same in a long time.
âyeah, y/n is coming with me,â you heard him say, your ears perking up at the sound of your name. it was hard to read his tone, but something told you that the person on the other end was surprised at his statement.
he finally noticed that you walked into the room, having finished slipping on your coat. jungkook sighed, tilting back the last of his drink and telling the person on the phone that he had to go. his furrowed eyebrows were telling enough that he was annoyed with you.
âwhat? i only took an hour,â you said, walking over from the doorway of his bathroom.
jungkook rolled his eyes. âan hour after the party started. letâs get going, the boys said theyâre waiting for us,â he complained. âyouâre the one who insisted on coming with me, anyway.â
at that, you didnât say anything because you knew it would only escalate into an argument. jungkook had been recently accusing you of being overly controlling when it came to hanging out with his friends, which led to an invite to tonightâs party to be extended to you, as well.Â
however, parties at places like hotel azure were now a routine for you and jungkook, which was one of the only things that was constant against change in the past two years. with fame came notoriety and after clawing your way up the social ladder amongst the countryâs musical elite, invitations to galas and lounges and the vip section of the club came left and right. everyone now knew you as one of the idol power couples behind the curtain and your respective presences were expected at events.Â
a molasses-like tension sat in the air when it came to this. although you and jungkook were known as one, it wasnât easy to ignore jungkookâs individual stardom that garnered mass attention. his biggest supporter, you loved this for him - until you didnât. he would jet off to tokyo and shanghai to party with a-listers and meet new people everywhere he went. he was rising before your very eyes and you couldnât help but feel left behind.
âdid you not tell them we got back together?â you suddenly asked, trailing out the front door with an impatient jungkook.
he only shrugged. it was hard to keep up when you and jungkook had taken several sporadic âbreaksâ over the last year. as a couple, you showed your best and smiled in front of everyone. however, your friends were the ones who would witness arguments in the corner of the room or furious frenzies of text arguments whilst working.Â
it was hard to manage a relationship that was akin to a fire - passionate, but ready to set ablaze at all times.Â
you werenât sure how you and jungkook got to this point. you were no longer kids who only had each other. it couldâve been so many things - age, fame, money. there were other underlying issues that came with all these things. after all, by the time you were sat in the car, the first flask was already finished between you and him.
the drive to hotel azure was a blur and before you knew it, you were taking shots with kim yoojung and suzy in the penthouse suite. jungkook had walked away with his friends upon entering the party and it was already a lost idea to find him. you exchanged few words on the way to the venue, as he seemed to still be frustrated with you for a variety of reasons.
besides, it was a jackson wang party. the suite was filled to the brim with the whoâs who of the entertainment industry, all mingling and dancing in an exalted existence that only celebrities enjoyed. others were outside at the rooftop pool, basking in the first of the yearâs warm air. there were too many things going on at once.
the only warmth you were concerned with was the hot sensation spreading throughout your body from hennessy. âhowâs the filming of your new show?â you asked suzy, who was now flushed from the round of drinks.
âexhausting. howâs the recording of your new album?â she sighed.
 âexhausting.â
a murmur of agreement ensued. that was why everyone was gathering - an escape from the fastlane of their lives. the industry was draining and every forced smile for the cameras only weighed heavier on someone.
âthat nct member your boyfriend is friends with was passing out xans,â warned yoojung, poking your side.
a year ago, you would have made a scene. now jaded and long given up on trying to knock some sense into him, you peeked over yoojungâs shoulder to check out the hallway ahead. turning back to the other two women, you already made up your mind.
âthe bathroom over there is free,â was all you had to say and with you swiping your clutch off the counter, they knew what you were thinking. they knew what was in its contents.
you had to - it was a jackson wang party. ironically, you were never able to recall actually seeing jackson at his parties. really, you werenât able to recall much in general the day after for certain reasons and tomorrow was looking no different when you busted out of the bathroom minutes later, giggling and brushing off your clothes. at the very least, you knew that you werenât looking out of place, especially if what yoojung said was true. everyone in the room could afford the best to use, so why wouldnât they?
âwe should go to the pool!âÂ
it didnât take much convincing for you to be dragged outside, as the high was settling in and you suddenly became a social butterfly. the three of you arrived poolside, where you were greeted by more of your peers. you wouldnât call them your friends.Â
the exception was jimin, who you were surprised to see. he was very amicable and well-liked amongst social circles, but wild parties were never quite his scene. some of jungkookâs group mates had an affinity for nights out, but you and jungkook attended a specific genre of parties that the others didnât vibe with on the regular.
you smiled a little too wide. âjimin!â
the group you approached sat poolside on a couch, as jimin scooted over to make room for. you barely fit, but he made sure to make it work for one of his best friendsâ girlfriend. stumbling a bit when you squeezed past othersâ knees, he offered his arm to help steady you.
âhey, y/n. jungkook went somewhere else?â he asked slowly, examining your face.Â
jimin had a beer in his hand and appeared significantly more sober than the other partygoers, who were now immersed back into their previous conversation after your arrival. suzy and yoojung were laughing with the others, probably now too high and drunk to even remember that they walked over with you. meanwhile, jimin had his jacket on, as if he was right about to leave until you came outside. his mind was changed when he saw how wasted you were.
you looked around, hoping the fresh air would help you focus. âmmm, yeah. think heâs with jaehyun.â
it didnât. it also felt like hours since you last spotted your boyfriend, but you were having fun. however, that wasnât what jimin was concerned about.
âyouâre doing okay?â jimin questioned, a frown tugging at his lips.Â
if it wasnât someone like jimin who knew you well, it wouldnât be so obvious that you were now quite inebriated. your giggles were a little too loud and you would never stumble in high heels sober.Â
when you didnât answer, jimin finished the last of his drink and set it on the table in front of you before standing up. there was a glint of worry in his eyes.Â
he said, âstay right there. iâm going to get you some water and find jungkook.â
truthfully, you didnât want him to locate your boyfriend, but jimin was already off. you huffed some hair out of your face. you didnât think you were in that bad of a shape.Â
now that there was room on the couch, you were able to move over. when jimin left, you noticed that the girl next to you was watching the interaction the entire time. she was young and the doe-like expression on her face read that this was her first time at hotel azure. she was dressed to the nines and carried herself with energy.
âhi, youâre nova!â it was more of an exclaimation than a question, when she smiled at you.
your mood dampened at this. you did not have time to be entertaining whatever lucky rookie idol she was, probably scoring a luky invite. you also despised being called your stage name when you werenât in front of a camera or fans. however, you put on your best plastered on smile.
âhi. you are?â you asked, wanting to try to be polite.
she ignored it. âwow, so itâs true then?â she asked. âyouâre dating jungkook! and you were just talking to jimin, you must be so close with all of bts!â
it was like an immediate headache onset, as you tried not to wince at her nearly screaming into your ear. the music was loud, but not that loud. at least she acknowledged you first, some people often went all in by just talking about jungkook. you would have engaged in actual conversation with her if she didnât ignore your first attempt.
 ây/n, try this!â
a red solo cup was pushed in front of your face and you didnât think twice about taking a sip. anything to not hear the girl drone on about your boyfriend. it was sour and medicinal at the same time, causing you to make a face. the actor who passed it to you chuckled, as you gave it back.
 you coughed. âthat was disgusting.â
for some reason, the smell of the drink alone made your head hurt. you mumbled an âexcuse meâ at the young idol, who was still talking about bts the entire time that interaction with the drink happened, and got up. your legs were weak.Â
for a while, you were walking around with no purpose, observing those around you blankly. when the drinks and the drugs and the desire to fit in faded away, it was boring.Â
you wondered if you actually liked being at these parties or if you were there just because. the âjust becauseâ could have been anything - just because it was expected by your circle, just because it was the only way to let out steam from the demands of your job. maybe even. . .just because of jungkook.
 âlooking for your boyfriend?â
at some point, you wandered over to the shadowy corner of the rooftop, where someone was smoking a joint. you tried your best to recall his name, as youâd just been on a variety show with him, but the best you could do was remember that he was a member of winner. you winced at yet another mention of jungkook, but ignored it again.
he held the joint out as an offer and you accepted without hesitation, letting the smoke fill your insides. it was easy to ignore the burn in your throat when youâd already been putting random substances into your body since the night began.
ânot really,â you admitted, though you did scan the crowd when you did.
he cocked an eyebrow. âoh? arenât you two always hand in hand at these things?â he made a gesture, referring to the party as a whole.
a year or two ago, you would have spent the entire party on jungkookâs lap and exclusively mingled and drank from that same spot. as time went on and jungkook began attending parties and clubs without you, it was a growing occurrence that you began doing your own thing when you appeared with him.
âdunno,â was all you could say, not wanting to talk more about it.
it appeared that he got the hint, dropping the subject of jungkook. instead, he failed to hide the once over he made of your appearance and you fought a shiver. you felt like you were naked under his stare, as your skin-tight maxi dress didnât leave much to the imagination. you never felt unsafe to wear what you wanted on a night out - albeit, your boyfriend was usually with you.
âyou cold? want my jacket, sweetie?â he asked, sugar lacing every one of his words.
thatâs when you became alert, despite your bodyâs lack of sobriety working against you. he had taken a half-step towards you and you instantly stepped backwards. youâd never been so uncomfortable, but it was a struggle to steady yourself.
you mustered up some solidity in your voice. âno. you can back up now,â you said, handing the joint back to him. âthanks.â
he didnât get the hint. âthen, do you wanna go inside with me? whereâs itâs warmer?â
the smirk on his face sent off alarms in your head, as you continued to walk away, he still remained close to you when you did.Â
âi said iâm good. youâre getting weird, so back up,â you repeated, eyes darting around to see if anyone would step in.
instead, everyone was still lost in their own worlds. some people were laughing away, trashing the bar on the other end of the rooftop. the people you were with on the couch were taking shots. nobody was noticing the interaction between you and this man.
when he took a firm grip on your arm, you thought you were about to throw up. you noticed that you hadnât even been walking straight and when you blinked, he was already in front of you. your words couldnât find themselves when you saw double everywhere you turned. you were fucked and you couldnât even defend yourself.
 then, it happened.
when you jumped at the sound of a sudden impact, you thought that you were the one who fell down. but, there was no pain. there was a round of gasps. there was yelling. there was a body on the ground and it was the manâs.
âare you fucking crazy?! donât you put your dirty ass hands on her ever again or iâll kill you with my bare hands, asshole!â
the voice belonged to jungkook. it was the first time youâd seen him all night. he was standing over the manâs body, yelling further profanities at him. you saw red - both on his knuckles and in his bloodshot eyes.Â
you let out a scream when the man suddenly got to his feet, lunging at jungkook. this was when others ran in, straining to peel their two bodies away from each other.Â
people stopped to watch, but it was almost dystopian to see that some didnât even care. they continued taking shots and smoking their joints. it was a daze of glimmer and drugs that only existed in the penthouse suite of hotel azure - where the rich and famous didnât have time for scuffles.Â
âjungkook, stop!â you screeched, your voice cracking and tears welling up in your eyes.
it took three people to pull jungkook alone, as others also came to the rescue of the other man. jaehyun and yugyeom each clutched onto one of jungkookâs arms, while bambam stood between the two. it looked like they had all chased jungkook from inside the penthouse, who had slammed the sliding door open.
when jungkook picked up a glass beer bottle in his rage, you almost ran in yourself. heâd swatted jaehyun and yugyeomâs grips away to do so. thankfully, it was jimin who dashed in to swipe the object away from jungkookâs grasp, before the situation escalated to disastrous.
if jimin didnât wrestle the weapon out of jungkookâs hands, it would have been detrimental beyond saving.Â
âyou piece of shit!â snarled the man, who spat in jungkookâs direction. âyour little girlfriend should know how much of a piece of shit you are, too!â
at that, you froze. jungkook only narrowed his eyes at him, as if daring him to continue. the next few moments didnât seem real. his friends took the opportunity to take hold of him again, now with bambam joining in and trying to talk some sense into him.
âkook, calm down. seriously, you need to just - â
jungkook shot back, ignoring bambam. âyou better shut your fucking mouth.â through gritted teeth, he kept urging for jaehyun and yugyeom to let go of him, which they thankfully didnât.
he only chuckled and your heart dropped when he turned to you. ânah, you must already know heâs a piece of shit. you must be cool with that and with the fact that heâs fucking his backup dancer.â
what he said was loud and clear, but you didnât even register it. you thought you were dreaming. you didnât know what to do.
betrayal had a funny effect on people and on you, it was seething fury.
if you were sober, it would have been your turn to lunge at someone. you considered it and decided that it wasnât a bad idea. taking off your heels and making strides towards the man, nobody expected you to clock the man right in the jaw. he yelped, stumbling backwards from the impact. in your state, you only just realized that youâd actually hit him with one of your shoes.
âthat was for me, you creep,â you hissed, as he cussed loudly at his now bloody nose.Â
you even pondered pushing him into the pool, but decided it wasnât worth it. the adrenaline in your veins - and whatever other substances were in there - wasnât enough to distract you from the pit in your stomach from what the man said. something in you didnât even consider the possibility of it being untrue - your gut told you otherwise.Â
you stared at jungkook, searching for any rebuttal. however, you knew the look on his face. it was the truth. not once did jungkook even try to dispute the accusation. your anger died down now and you were left feeling like you were floating. this couldnât be real.
it was now jungkookâs turn to stand frozen. you didnât have time for this or for him. even his friends were frozen and you didnât know what emotions were on their faces. shocked, but at what? that he was cheating on you or that he just got exposed? reality was beginning to sink in and the only thing you knew was that you needed to get out of there. you thought you looked like the biggest joke in the world, whether his friends knew about it or not.
âwhat do you think youâre doing? go after her!âÂ
that was jiminâs voice, horrified that his friend was just passively watching you run out of there. jungkook finally made a sprint for it. youâd pushed past several people and jungkook didnât catch up to you until you reached the elevator.
your vision was waning and the source could have been either the situation or your body finally giving up on you from what you had consumed all night. you needed to sit down. hurriedly, you jammed the button to close the elevator door, but a hand stuck out to force it open.
jungkook was pleading. ây/n, just one second - â
 âno, get away from me.â
âlook, letâs talk! please!â he cried, trying to enter the elevator with you.
at this point, you were shoving him away. you didnât care, you needed him out of your face before you began crying. he wasnât fighting back at all, letting you continuously push him, but didnât move an inch.Â
âyouâre scum to me,â you growled, eventually giving up and tripped backwards from your own force.
the elevator closed and for thirteen long floors, it was just you and him in that one space.
âplease, letâs communicate - isnât that what you always wanted for us?â jungkook said and did his best to get you to meet his eyes. âbug, come o -â
the fire in your eyes was nothing like heâd ever seen before from you. âdonât you dare call me that ever again!âÂ
bug was his special name for you, short for lovebug. you used to get upset when he would call you your full name over bug. in that moment, it sickened you to hear it.
everything began clicking in your head. the way he rarely called you when he was on tour. the slow buildup of disinterest in your wellbeing. going to places that he always went to without you. being secretive of what he was doing on his phone. this behaviour multiplied recently and with another world tour for bts lined up, you now knew why.
jungkook was living an entirely different life away from you. you just thought he would never have it in him. not the kind and sweet jungkook you met all those years ago.
you ripped off the tennis bracelet from your wrist, which jungkook had given you for your eighteenth birthday. a look of defeat rested on his face when you hurled it at him, which he didnât even bother to dodge. he knew he deserved it.Â
the elevator dinged and you made a beeline for the first door you saw. you werenât even running, but jungkook dashed to meet you there. you let out a cry of frustration when he stood right in front of you, blocking the entrance.Â
 âmove or youâll regret it.â
he ignored you and you instead side-stepped away, using all your energy to exit through the next door before jungkook could realize. he tried blocking you again, but only caught a bit of your force because you were too fast.
the entire time this was happening, youâd been trying to dial someone, anyone. none of your group mates were answering. you didnât have any friends that werenât at the party upstairs. the last resort was your manager, who you were about to call, when jungkook stood in front of you again.
ây/n, please. iâll get on my knees if i have to,â jungkook begged and you could see that he was fighting tears. âplease, i just want to talk.â
however, you could also see that jungkook was far from sober. he was in a worse state than you were. a bruise was to soon form on his jaw and his hair was disheveled. it was the lowest youâd ever seen him.
for a split second, you tried. you wanted to try and see the boy you fell in love with all those years ago. you searched and searched.Â
âwhat? iâve asked you for years to communicate in this relationship and it only becomes important after you cheat on me?âÂ
jungkook knew he was defeated, but he still looked at you with those same pleading eyes. âi know i donât deserve you - â
âi donât even recognize you!â you interrupted. âi donât even know who you are!â
both of you knew that you were right. something went wrong along the way. you were barefoot and exhausted, no longer with light in your eyes. jungkook was pitiful and lost - lost in his fame, in the parties, and from you.Â
that night at hotel azure should have been the end. the storybook fairytale should have been over. in that moment, you would have even moved as far as you could and ran away from the dread of the life you were living. you gave up that night.
unfortunately, in the craze of the nightâs events and the substances swimming in your bodies, both you and jungkook forgot who and where you were.
TOP HEADLINE TODAY: breaking news! dispatch releases exclusive photos of btsâ jungkook and s.irenâs nova, reveals that they are dating
youâd been in the big hit company building countless of times over the years, but would have never imagined yourself sitting in their board room with their most senior executives. to make matters worse, several high-ranking representatives from your company sat in the same room, including your ceo and your own manager. at the head of the table were you and jungkook, both stone-faced and unable to look at each other.Â
entering the room, you considered yourself all alone. your manager was pissed off at you. your group mates hadnât spoken to you since the news broke, except for sooah. she only warned you to make sure that nobody knew you were high when it happened. the last thing the group needed was an additional scandal where their main vocalist gets sentenced to prison for possession. and, of course, you now had no boyfriend. there was nobody there for you.
âtheyâve been building evidence for a long time now, clearly.â
to make matters more humiliating, the company executives were broadcasting the dispatch article on the big screen in front of everyone. the head of public relations, mr. lee, swiped through each photo released like a slideshow.
the first picture was you and jungkook outside of your building complex. another was a sneaky shot that barely captured you and jungkook in the same taxi. it went on and on, until the last photo that depicted you and jungkook standing in front of hotel azure, which was less than twenty-four hours ago at this point.Â
after escaping the party and jungkook, you spent the rest of your night crying and throwing up at home. it was late when you left and you knew you couldnât sleep a wink after what transpired. you tried your very best and it was seven in the morning when you thought your eyes were finally closing, until your phone began blowing up.Â
at first, it was just your manager and you didnât want to hear about how she found out that you were partying late again. then, not even an hour after, your social media began blowing up with notifications.Â
i was trying to warn you, the last text from your manager read. you realized what she was talking about, as dispatch probably gave the âcourtesyâ to inform the company before the article went out.Â
you thought about your group members, feeling nothing but guilt. you saw what happened to other female idols, whose dating scandals tarnished their âsisterhoodâ with their members forever. you were terrified of that happening to you.
now, you sat in this suffocating board room, still hungover, and your entire future at stake. the only thing you felt regretful about was not just the impact of your choices on both your group members, but the rest of jungkookâs. they were one of the, if not the, most popular groups in the country.
while the room went over the pictures that were released, you were silent. you long understood the consequences of the relationship and accepted the risk. when the scandal actually broke, though, the fear you felt was unlike anything youâve ever felt before. on the other hand, jungkook was only apologizing profusely and was in tears. you didnât realize it until then, but there were also streams of tears running down your face.Â
you werenât sure what the main reason for your tears were. something told you that youâd yet to process the grief of jungkookâs betrayal because sitting next to him felt numb. last night, only anger settled underneath your skin. now, being inches away from the man you called your best friend and partner for years, you felt nothing. it was almost an out-of-body experience.Â
the only way to not replay every single moment he was with her and not you, was to repress the grief. you pretended like it was invisible and out of reach. with that, you figured the tears were for the innocent third parties that were going to be dragged down by the scandal - the executives in the room, jungkookâs group, your group, all of them.
âquit crying! we have no choice, thereâs too much evidence - we must publicly confirm the relationship.â
you took a deep breath. right now, you had yet to actually tell anyone that you and jungkook were no longer together. a part of you was too embarrassed to admit that you were cheated on. you also figured that word from the scene at the rooftop party likely already spread throughout social circles. you decided to swallow it down and finally say it aloud.
this was the first time that you spoke up. âbut,â you started, âjungkook and i. . .we broke up last night.â
the last thing you expected was a round of laughter. you thought you were imagining it, but when you looked up, the board members were indeed doing so. you were suffering enough, but now you were getting laughed at. your fists were balled up underneath the table.
âare you kidding me?â mr. lee said. âi donât care. years ago, you and jungkook agreed that, should your relationship be exposed, you would face the repercussions of its reception.â
âmr. lee - â jungkook started, but was hushed by his company executives.
when mr. lee tapped on his laptop again and cut to the comments section of the article, you thought you would see hate comments. death threats, even. but, you were stunned to face waves of positivity.Â
the tone he used, though, was devoid of any. âoh, i love this couple so much,â mr. lee began reading the comments in a monotone voice that only made the situation feel even more of a joke. âwah. they. are. such. a. beautiful. couple. iâm not even mad.â
you swore your eyes were deceiving you. stealing your first glance at jungkook since walking into the room, he, too, was shocked and his jaw hung low.Â
âtalk about a power couple, congratulations! here, someone said: hope this is true, nova is luckiest girl in the world - love this. then, a bunch of good luckâs, and blah, blah, blah.â
there was a wave of anger when most of the comments called you the lucky one and not once the other way around.
regardless, the reception of international fans was generally uplifting, which was no surprise to you. what really got to you was that it didnât stop there - the screen scrolled past dozens and dozens of korean comments that exemplified full support towards the relationship. this was a true mark of positive reception, as they were the fans you feared the most.
as the years went on and jungkook rose in popularity, you became increasingly nervous about your relationship. you watched so many of your peers receive horrible backlash from fans after being exposed for dating, especially the women. being a female in the industry was hard enough and you werenât sure if you were going to be one of the strong ones in this situation.Â
âso that your fans donât feel âbetrayedâ, we are going to let the media know that you have been dating for a few months - donât even think about telling people that youâve been together since 2013,â mr. lee announced, which snapped you back to the conversation.
you dared to speak again. âmr. lee, jungkook and i have broken up,â you reiterated, wondering if nobody heard you the first time.
he rolled his eyes. âi understand. do you also understand that this reaction is basically unheard of? have you noticed that youâve gained almost a million followers on instagram?â
this time, it was the public relations representative from big hit that cleared her throat and stood up. she joined mr. lee in front of the board members, who began murmuring in approval amongst themselves.
âjungkook. y/n. as you know, the love yourself world tour was just announced. s.irens is also preparing for a major comeback and potential tour. this relationship,â she said, âwill be used to accelerate the successes of both of your groups.â
a chart appeared on the screen. it showed data from the last twenty-four hours, including both groupâs increase in social media numbers, streams, and search engine hits.Â
âconsider it an exchange for breaching your no-dating clause five years ago. until further notice, this relationship, at least in the eyes of the public, will remain.â
this had to be a joke. however, you remembered what you and jungkook were. you were idols. you were puppets of the machine that was the korean entertainment industry. chess pieces. no matter how rich or famous either of you got, it all boiled down to this.Â
the fame game was one that was never won.
jungkook said, slowly, âyouâre asking us to date. . .as a publicity stunt?â
at this, you had no choice. a few individuals in the room, including jungkook, jumped when you shot up from your seat. you rose in order to bow at a ninety degree angle in front of all the senior executives, ignoring how sick you were to your stomach.
âplease,â you began, eyes squeezed shut. âi want nothing to do with jeon jungkook.â
of course, the decision was already made and your pleas were dismissed. however, you didnât see the way jungkook watched you beg your company to not force you in a relationship with a man you no longer loved. his mouth went dry and thereâd never been such a moment in his life where he hated himself more. he did this. he pushed you to this point and he betrayed you.
from that moment on, jungkook saw this as an opportunity. he destroyed everything that you and he had ever built. now, the only thing he ever sought from this point on, was redemption.
even though your companies informed you two that you could publicly âbreakupâ following a year post-dispatch release, jeon jungkook never lost sight of the redemption he sought. they wanted you to be the so-called it couple of the industry and he decided he would do them one better and make it real. for the next year, jungkook would do everything in his power to win you back.

đđđđ. for clarity purposes (because i feel like the non-chronological format may get confusing), y/n and jungkook get back together during this publicity stunt and are 100% for real dating in chapter 1. the publicity stunt arc is covered in chapters 6-8, as the next chapter focuses on why/how their relationship began breaking down before the hotel azure incident.

đAstro Observationsđ
[DISCLAIMER: everything Iâve written comes from personal experience and observation. It may not resonate with you and itâs totally fine! tysm and stay safe!]đ
WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS MENTIONS OF SENSITIVE TOPICS SUCH AS RELIGION AND EATING DISORDERS. â ď¸
âď¸â˘ Having Neptune conjunct the Ic/4th could make a person be an orphan.
âď¸â˘ Jupiter in the 4th house could have lots of siblings, sometimes it could also point out to a parent figure having multiple marriages, therefore having lots of half-siblings, since Jupiter expands everything it touches and rules over everything thatâs foreigner.
âď¸â˘Libra/Venus in the 12th house in a composite chart could be the type of couples that still love each other after the break up, or feel unconditional love for one another no matter what.
âď¸â˘People with the asteroid Lucifer in the 9th house/12th/conjunct Neptune/Jupiter or the Moon, might believe in Satan/Lucifer/be satanic.
âď¸â˘I noticed that people with the
INFJ-T personality have very often Virgo placements.
Ex: Kim Namjoon (BTS) Virgo sun.
Adam Sandler Virgo sun.
Me ;p Virgo rising
Zendaya Virgo sun.
EtcâŚ
âď¸â˘Also one thing about Virgo placements is that almost every person I know that has an eating disorder has either a Virgo sun/moon/rising or 6th house sun, also a Virgo 2nd house, since the second house in our birth chart shows us our eating habits.
âď¸â˘A womanâs Venus in a manâs 8th house could indicate being the other woman! This is because Venus rules love and relationships and the 8th house rules everything that is secretive and hidden, also the relationship could start after a loss or breakup and it could bring lots of gossip and shame. (The official relationship being the loss/breakup)
âď¸â˘The asteroid Regulus conjunct the MC in the MC persona chart is a very BIG sign of fame. Thatâs because Regulus is the brightest star in the sky and the MC shows us our legacy into this worldđ.
