I'm sure you're sick of the Endgame discourse by now but: A Thought just occurred to me, given the fandom wank over whether or not Steve "abandoned" Bucky and Sam, and (Wanda), if he came back 10 sec later, but the thing is for me ( and you kinda answered this in return to another ask ), and it's like: even if Steve came back 10 secs later it was an entire lifetime for *Steve*, where he decided that his happy ending didn't include the friends he had made in the 21st century. That in the end 1/?

Steve decided, that his happy ending didn't include his childhood friend, who he was willing to put himself under the supervision of 117 countries for ( he was willing to go against his instincts and submit to 117 countries for *Bucky*, it was only when he heard Wanda had been placed house arrest that he refused) his one bond outside the Avengers (Sam) , & his pseudo daughter/ little sister in Wanda. Like how is that extremely hurtful to them. That they were not enough for Steve to continue 2/?

Everything you mentioned about Sharon is so spot on and also I think it just truly clicked in my head for the first time how absolutely weird the support group was re: Sharon because!! Like you said, she WAS Steve’s most recent gf/lover/whatever you wanna call her. They had their initial connection in TWS, reconnected in CW when she risked her entire career and freedom to help Steve (and I’m p sure she was in fact a fugitive between CW and IW like the rest of team cap). We know that M&M said that early drafts of IW/EG had Steve and Sharon living together and “trying to make it work” - their words, not mine. And yet, after Sharon literally frickin DIED, Steve was... staring... at her dead aunt’s pic?? Whom... had been dead from natural causes for several years... BRUH IT DONT MAKE SENSE.

Listen, people can feel however they wanna feel about the ending but in the end, let’s be real and objective for a second. The entire Cap trilogy makes it abundantly clear that Steggy was never the intended endgame (pun intended 🙄). Peg played an important role in Steve’s character development but it came to an end, they both moved on, Steve developed an interest in Sharon. The weird Steggy “happy ending”... it was never the plan, and the early IW/EG drafts are proof. So, one can not argue that it was some grand beautiful in character master plan because it wasn’t, by any stretch of the imagination. It just... it isn’t good. It isn’t Steve. We all know it, whether we’re willing to admit it or not.

I think in the end it just comes down to the writers/powers that be not understanding the value of found family vs heteronormative romance. That’s kind of EG’s fatal flaw imo, it wrecks the whole thing. Nat dying so Clint can live and be with his cookie cutter family vs Nat living and being with her found family is another example. They just don’t get it, just like they don’t understand trauma and think it’s okay to call Bucky dangerous and bad and not worthy of the shield. And I suppose we shouldn’t expect rich old straight white men to understand these concepts, but boy does it get exhausting watching them destroy all the characters I love 🙃

But anyway. EG Steve ain’t the Steve I know and love and I don’t care what the Russos or M&M or Feige or Mickey Mouse himself says. Steve Rogers as a character belongs to us, the fans, not the greedy corporate weirdos cashing in on his original author’s work 😊 So let’s just toss EG Steve in the trash and remember the character as he actually is 💙

Favorite character: Fry. Bender is without a doubt the funniest character but Fry is my fave. He’s so endearingly stupid and I love how nice he is. He could have been the bland straight man protag for wackier personalities to play off but he’s a huge goofus. And he’s a trekkie! And neurodivergent! And pansexual! He’s a good boy, love that Fry

Least Favorite character: I’ve never really thought about it, like as far as I recall, I don’t remember anybody showing up and I’m like “oh geez this guy”. Oh wait. Fry’s ex girlfriend Michelle is a bitch but she’s meant to be. But like, she’s not even a funny bitch. Like Mom or Zapp.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Fry/Leela (this is a ship I’ve had since i was a kid, an original flavour OTP right there, I loooove Fry/Leela), Fry/Bender, Fry/Leela/Bender, Amy/Kif, Bender/Amy

Character I find most attractive: Leela. Even when I was a kid I found her attractive. Hot + the Matt Groening style doesn’t normally go together very well (even he’s admitted this) but it just works with Leela. Amy is cute too! And Fry is cute but that’s mainly his personality (and fan-art) doing that. I also happen to enjoy purple and orange a lot so Leela and Fry are inherently nice for me to look at. Yeah, Futurama pulls off attractive women better than The Simpsons does. (diff times, diff genres...)

Character I would marry: Aww, Fry

Character I would be best friends with: Oh, all of them really (tho Zoidberg’s smell could be a problem). Especially Fry, Leela & Bender

A random thought: Now I’m wondering if there’s a Futurama style Create A Character thing online, I’ll look later. Also, I know Jurassic Bark makes everybody cry but I just wanna say it made 10 year old me sob and I didn’t cry at fictional things as a kid. Like, very very rarely. Me being a big cryer kicked in later. So that’s a helluva thing. Power of dogs

An unpopular opinion: I don’t know... oh a lot of people don’t like the later seasons but I really like them! There’s some stinkers here and there (attack of the killer app and the butterjunk effect come to mind) but overall it’s still Futurama goodness. Oh and The Beast With The Billion Backs gives me a bad feeling in my tummy because it has this “polyamory is gross and creepy” vibe to it. Whether it’s intended or not, it just makes me uncomfortable. Other than that, it’s a good movie. Fry saying “Robots don’t go to heaven” makes me tear up.

Most Epic Villain: Hmm... I looked up “Futurama Villians” and Bender is on the list jajafklafkjs I love that. I wouldn’t call anybody epic, tho Mom is pretty powerful and malevolent. I’ll pick my fave villain: The Robot Devil

Pairing I am not a fan of: Zapp gets nothing, good day sir! I don’t know any ships I’m like Against tho. Some I’m squicked by, like involving The Professor or Zoidberg but like that shit is for laughs anyways

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): They picked the ball up later on but Hermes was a flat character for a while there. And remember how they forgot Amy is smart for like,,, ages. Again they fixed this later. It’s sometime I appreciate about the later seasons, they gave more focus for characters who were less explored in the original run (this show has like 4 finales, to be clear)

Favourite Friendship: Fry & Bender is Iconic and I adore them

Character I most identify with: Fry. Brainweird trekkie who loves TV/movies and has feminist tendencies. Love him

Character I wish I could be: I mean, if I had to... Bender? I mean, if I had to live in the super dangerous world of Futurama, I’d like to be a robot. Plus Fry and Leela’s lives are pretty sad :(

Favorite character: Hurley is my favourite. Indeed he’s one of my fave characters in fiction in general. (Daniel is just who I talk about the Most)

Least Favorite character: [insert abusive parent here], tho Anthony Cooper and Roger Linus are on top of the loathing pile. And y’all know I hate Christian Shephard so much. Keamy is also utter scum.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): This fluctuates so much but at this point who would I be fooling if I didn’t put Dan/Char first. Yes, I know there are bigger meals available, I’ll still lick the chocolate flakes off the floor. Anyways. Daniel/Charlotte, Daniel/Charlotte/Miles, Kate/Claire. After this point I wobble all over the place... because I ship so much. And it depends on my mood. Sometimes I’m just really in a Desmond/Charlie mood, other times i’m uwu for Jack/Kate. And so on. Just, take my top three. Tho honorable mentions to Sayid/Shannon and Miles/Richard, I’m very fond of them. And Desmond and Penny! Jin & Sun and aaahhh!! Basically most things canon and a shitton of noncanon. You guys know what I’m like with shipping and LOST!!! I’m posting the chart

Character I find most attractive: Bruh, this show is a bi & pan dream. I’m not good at picking favourites but Desmond, Charlie, Ana lucia, Charlotte are really “holy fuck” hot to me. And Sayid. And Miles. And Kate. Aahhh!! I’ll just end up listing almost everybody. If I had to pick one (1) LOST character to deem the Hottest, I’d pick Desmond. He makes my eyes glaze over. Desmond transcends all sexuality. Desmond is a living romance novel love interest. Desmond’s body is shown off a LOT... also he’s scottish. But man, I came to LOST because of one crush and left with at least 20 more. It’s a great investment!

Character I would marry: Sayid. He would make a wonderful husband. Just,,, just such a loving, gentle, respectful person........ and you KNOW he’s good with his hands. Daniel is a close second for much the same reasons, actually

Character I would be best friends with: HURLEY!!!!

An unpopular opinion: Oof, here we go. I love Jack Shephard! Though I have noticed we’ve gotten to a point where liking Jack isn’t a ridiculous concept in this fandom anymore. I don’t find myself defending myself/him as much as I used to. Also Hurley/Libby was really really cute. Yeah, I know she wasn’t around much before she died, I still believe in their love. Oh wait I forgot the big one: I fucking ADORE the LOST finale. It’s one of my favourite episodes and it’s not only not a bad finale, it’s an amazing finale, one of the best I’ve seen. It’s great television. The problems people have with it have never made sense to me, I personally love it!

My Canon OTP: Daniel/Charlotte (they count, they’re not an Official Couple but they’re in love! they count amongst the lost romances!)

My Non-canon OTP: Kate/Claire (i sometimes forget it isn’t canon because holy GOSH does this fire have a lot of fuel)

Pairing I am not a fan of: Kate/Sawyer springs to mind for being a very popular ship that I’m just not into. Like, it’s okay, they’re just better for each other as friends

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Michael, Walt and Sayid due to poor and/or racist writing. Libby, Charlotte, Miles just for missed opportunities. Actually I don’t think they screwed up Miles, he was mostly great, just he could have been used more. Like his powers, or delving into his trauma, his budding friendships with other people. it ticks me off that Miles doesn’t get given Reactions to Char & Dan’s deaths. The Science Team in general were underused and they barely felt like a Team. Anyways Michael Dawson deserved better. Season 2 just fucked up a lot of characters but it really did not treat Michael with respect. I can’t even explain how it’s bad, it just is.

Favourite Friendship: Everybody/Vincent. Hehehe, actually, here's what comes to mind, can’t pick a fave: Hurley/Charlie, Hurley/Everyone Kate/Every Woman She Meets, Jack/Claire is cute when it happens. Jin/Michael was A+. Thinking about it, I like every friendship in this show. Does Ben/Locke count? Are they friends? Well, their scenes are enthralling so there's that. I also appreciate all the lady friendships on this show. And with people who didn’t start as friends, so with everybody it had to grow in front of us and that’s nice.

Character I most identify with: Hurley, Jack, Daniel, Kate and Claire all hit. But Hurley the most, absolutely. Also I find Jack endearing because his emotional instability reminds me of my own.

Character I wish I could be: Claire. Not much would change but I’d get to fuck Charlie and Kate

When I started shipping them: I literally don’t remember anymore

My thoughts: The last third of Kate’s character arc (of not running anymore, of being responsible, etc) is dedicated to Claire. Kate went back to that island for Claire, not Jack or Sawyer. Kate and Claire remembered together and it was played with as much emotional resonance as the Charlie/Claire and Jack/Kate soulmate scenes. These two are gonna raise sons together. Restless, passionate!!! Honestly, these two make so much sense and get so many Moments, I forget this isn’t canon. Their actresses have amazing chemistry and just. Gosh, I love them

What makes me happy about them: They would be so good for each other! They’ll take care of each other and support each other and give each other kisses, etc. Also also I love their height difference. Oh, I enjoy the contrast of Kate who is more experienced and badass, and Claire who I feel is more naive and is very very sweet & sunshiney. (don’t take me for thinking Kate ain’t sweet and Claire can’t go off, though). I also enjoy how Kate legit looks/holds herself butcher whenever Claire is around

What makes me sad about them: Mr. LOST writers, how comes you had no canon bi people in ur show? Come back here, I’m talking to you-

Things I look for in fanfic: [looks around] h-hewwoo? ladies falling in love and fucking?? pwease?? i’m a fan of mutual pining. i like the idea of claire not realising she’s bi until kate makes her feel things and claire confessing her feelings to kate in a big ol’ cute ramble and then they kiiiisss, and then they fuuuuck. spare fuck, ma’am? femslash is very underdone in fandoms and lost is an old fandom so [pleading emoji]

My wishlist: oh i think i just made it. just content for kate/claire in general is a lovely thing. and makes me progressively stronger

My happily ever after for them: Oh, I think I’ve made that clear. But overall? Give me a character & I will tell you:

Daniel Faraday

How I feel about this character: [mildly] Oh, I like him........ HOW DO YA THINK I FEEL ABOUT DANIEL FARADAY?? I’ve only gushed about him, analysed his character back to front, and frequently highlight his scenes and such for like a bagillion years now. But I do admit, I am just too subtle. It’s a real problem I have. ;) Anyways, that aside. Like they didn’t utilise his character as much as they should’ve/could’ve and he’s still perfect. With just 23 episodes (which makes me salty that Char is so underdeveloped in 20 episodes.) The writing is great, like in just The Variable they get a TON about Daniel across. Tho, we all know what really makes Daniel so great, the reason everybody loves him so much, is Jeremy Davies’ performance. Just. So good. I love Daniel, I adore Daniel. He’s that The Smart Guy science nerd archetype but he turns out to be way more than that too. He’s soft spoken and polite but with subtle hints of sass and bitterness for some extra flavour. I love how tactile he is and his constant hand gestures, it’s just great to watch this guy talk. And his life and backstory is very sad, like he has one of the most tragic backstories/storylines in LOST and thats. saying a lot. And I love good angst. I mean, I love LOST, so of course I do. But yeah, summing up: he’s cute, he’s smart, he’s a little funny, he’s tragic, he’s gentle and he just,,, wants to love and to make music. And he gets to have the life he deserves by the end!! Oh and the inherent value of a canonically neurodivergent character being well written, getting a good storyline and shown as being liked and loved, is just very precious to me

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Charlotte, Miles, Desmond, Charlie and Theresa (last one by way of canon and I’ve certainly put way more thought into it than the writers did. she’s part of his life so I won’t ignore her). Wow, five people. I’ve made Daniel the demisexual equivalent of a slut. [snorts]

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Daniel and Penny getting to be brother and sisterly in limbo is such a cute thought, I love it. I also pay extra attention to Daniel and Richard scenes because of my theory. There’s also hintettes of a Daniel & Kate friendship in canon, it’s not much but I like it. I think if Dan lived he could have made easy friends with most of the characters but as it is, he really doesn’t get to interact with many people. He’s a rather insular character

My unpopular opinion about this character: i’ve picked up that some people think he doesn’t get jokes or that he’s naive. and i personally give him some naivety here and there due to a lack of experience but i also think he’s quick learner and he can be pretty adaptable 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: i really like how daniel’s story is already (thus my brain instantly jumps to dan/char kiss!!!) tho it does feel a bit like theres pieces missing. this would be due to that lovely writer’s strike that happened around seasons 4 and 5. there was meant to be more sci team content but then that happened. sigh. still, gaps and loose threads in the story isn’t a story breaker for daniel specifically. and i don’t mind things being left in implication or to the imagination. i don’t need to see everything. if it was handled badly with dan, i’d be annoyed, but it wasn’t. so... dan/char kiss!!!

Favorite friendship for this character: it occurs to me that the people dan is friends with,, are people i ship him with. hey, it doesn’t cancel each other out: char and miles. also we don’t get much, or we get nothing but the implication of dan’s friendships with frank and naomi is also cute. also also daniel and desmond aren’t exactly friends (it’s weird, they meet a few times and it Means A lot) but the des and dan running thing is a fave

This fic takes place pre-season one, so Sam‘s just left for college, and Dean’s on his own.

The dingy bar smelled strongly of smoke and alcohol, but Dean needed a drink, and that was all he could focus on.

He huffed as he sat on the barstool and gruffly asked for a beer. The bartender  gave Dean his drink and hurried off to help the next customer. Dean took a swig from the bottle, not really caring that the drink tasted funny.

He had been somewhat emotionless these past few days; for once he’d be spending Christmas alone. Sure, he never celebrated much when Sam and their dad were around, but at least he wasn’t holed up in some random flyover state getting drunk off bottom shelf liquor.

“Is that Dean Winchester I see sitting alone on Christmas Eve?”

Dean spun quickly, recognizing the person’s voice almost immediately.

“Y/N?” The girl jokingly curtsied, and the two laughed. “You’ve gotta be kidding me!” Dean hopped off the barstool to pick the girl up and spin her around. “How long has it been? Three years?”

“I think we’re coming up on four now, but who’s counting?” Goodness, that smile on her still seemed to melt Dean’s heart, even after all these years. “What’ve you been up to? Where’s your old man?”

“He’s, ah, occupied at the moment. I actually don’t know where he is right now. I split off from ‘im a while ago.”

“Oh… well that’s too bad. Last time I saw John he got so drunk that he started telling me stories about your toddler days,” Y/N said with a chuckle.

Dean jabbed a finger at her chest playfully. “I’ll have you know that I was an adorable child.”

“You keep sayin’ it, and I just might believe it.”

“So,” Y/N started as she took a seat at the bar, Dean joining her. “What’re you doing in a crappy bar on Christmas Eve, anyway?

"Sam’s in California, Dad’s who knows where, and I’m here–not much to it.”

"Well, if you’re up for it, I’m getting some friends together, and we’re gonna be celebrating the holidays up at our cabin. Why don’t you join us?” Y/N smiled warmly. “It’d be a great time to catch up. From what I’ve heard, you and your dad have been all over the place.”

Dean didn’t have to think twice about his answer. “I’d love to.”

Y/N’s cabin wasn’t anything special. It was a typical log cabin in the woods. Snow covered the entire property, and white string lights trimmed the roof. Frost covered the windows, but Dean could see the warm glow of light and the numerous silhouettes of the people inside.

Immediately entering the cabin, the smell of apple pie and honey-glazed ham hit Dean’s nose. His eyes drifted to the living room where a group of people were talking over beer, and a fireplace crackled in the corner.

Dean felt a bit out of place–like he was intruding on an exclusive family event.

Y/N seemed to notice Dean’s uneasiness and took his elbow and led him to the kitchen.

There, a woman with long, braided hair and a puffer vest was taking a pie out of the oven while a bald man with a lumberjack-esque beard was chopping carrots.

“Rebecca, Quentin!” Y/N called, holding her arms out for a hug.

“Oh, it’s so good to see you, doll,” Rebecca said as she returned Y/N’s embrace.

“How’s it going, Y/N/N?” Quentin asked.

“I mean, you haven’t managed to burn down the cabin yet, so I’d say pretty good.”

Quentin threw a piece of carrot in her direction and mumbled a “shut up.”

“Guys, this is my friend, Dean.”

Rebecca and Quentin both said a cheery “hi,” and Dean was put a bit at ease. Y/N excused herself and Dean from the kitchen, eager to show him around.

“Come with me for a second,” Y/N said.

She led Dean down the hall past the living room and into a bedroom, closing the door softly behind them. Dean looked around the room, taking in all of the details with interest. He assumed this was Y/N’s room based on the photo garland above the bed. One specific photo caught Dean’s eye. It was a polaroid photo that Y/N had taken of the two of them the last Christmas they saw each other.

Dean gifted Y/N an instant camera that Christmas, and she couldn’t stop taking photos all day; Dean had to stop her so she wouldn’t run out of film too quickly.

This photo in particular was taken by Sam. It was the Christmas before he left for college. Y/N and Dean were both sat on the floor in front of their puny little tree. They were wearing matching Christmas sweaters that Sam had gotten them and had their arms around each other, laughing with wide grins and rosy cheeks.

Dean remembered loathing the holidays, but as soon as Y/N showed up, everything was instantly better.

Dean’s mind then drifted to the years when Y/N first came into his life. They were both tweens who were cooped up at Bobby’s at the same, and they’d been almost inseparable. John finally picked Dean and Sam up after a few months on his own, but by then Y/N was already long gone, out on the road with her own father.

They ran into each other a few years later, both seventeen and getting ready to start their adult lives. They were both at Bobby’s again, this time for completely different reasons. Y/N’s father had died while hunting a djinn, and Dean was just stopping by for supplies. He saw her huddled in the corner of one of the guest bedrooms, and his heart nearly broke. She wasn’t crying or anything–her face wasn’t even red.

She just looked numb. Empty. Broken.

Dean knew because she looked the exact same way he did when Mary died.

He slowly entered the room, and as soon as he sat on the bed, Y/N wrapped her arms around him and sobbed into his chest. They spent the night in each other’s arms, and Bobby didn’t seem to mind one bit.

After that night, Dean promised himself that he would never see Y/N like that ever again.

The Christmas that was captured in the photo was the first one where Y/N was actually herself.

Now here they were: celebrating the holidays together in a cozy cabin and finally catching up after so many years.

Y/N laid down on one side of the bed and patted the spot next to her. “Don’t be shy, Winchester. We’ve done this before.”

Dean slowly climbed in next to her, and she snuggled into his side. They laid there for a few minutes without talking, simply enjoying the other’s closeness.

“Uh, not that I really mind, but why’d you bring me in here?” Dean asked, breaking the silence.

Y/N sighed and shrugged her shoulders. “Just wanted to be near you is all.”

“You’ve still got feelings for me, don’t ya, Y/N/N,” Dean teased.

“Shut up,” Y/N replied, shoving his shoulder.

“So what if I did,” Y/N said after a few minutes.

Dean leaned his head back to look at her face and found that she was completely serious. His heart did a flip, and a wide smile broke out of his face. “Well I’d say that I still have feelings for you, too.”

Y/N peered up at him and smiled. Without thinking, Dean leaned in and kissed her, cupping her face with one hand. For a moment she didn’t respond, and Dean was getting ready to pull away when she winded her fingers in his hair. The beer on his tongue mingled with her peppermint chapstick. A feeling of warmth bubbled up in Dean’s chest, his sense of longing now fulfilled. He and Y/N fit together seamlessly, like the kiss was meant to be.

A soft knock at the door abruptly ended the moment.

“Food’s ready!” the voice on the other side called.

“Be there in a second!” Y/N replied.

She turned back to Dean and groaned into his chest, and he chuckled at her annoyance.

“C'mon,” he said. “Let’s go get some of that delicious pie.”

“You and your freaking pie.”

The atmosphere in the main part of the cabin was one of comfort and happiness. The food was great, and the people were more than eager to welcome Dean into their little family.

Although he barely knew anyone, he had Y/N by his side, and that was good enough.

Dean might not be seeing his family for quite some time, but with Y/N, it was like he was already home.

Once or Twice

Pairing -  Dean x Reader.

Characters - Dean, Sam, Reader, Josh (omc) Word Count - 1212 Warnings -  Language. Summary -  A/N -  I’ve had this idea in my head for a little while.

The road ahead of you was dimly lit as you continued on your quest to nowhere, you must look ridiculous, yet this was the right choice. Your dress snagged on a branch as it pulled you back slightly, yanking it from the branch you continued on your pointless journey. Where were you even going?

You should have walked away from Josh months ago, yet in true Y/N style, you decided to leave it until the last minute, second even. Here you were on your wedding day, single, alone, freezing and without a single possession.

You could hear an engine in the distance, It could be Josh, No you were too far away from the church. Headlights illuminated the road as you continued on. The car rolled to a stop near you, realising you were completely defenceless you picked up the pace.

“Miss?” A male voice called from the car. “Miss are you okay? Do you need a ride into town?” He questioned as he turned off the engine.

You didn't once turn around, you were too scared to, you just carried on as your arms wrapped around your waist.

“Hey, stop.” He yelled as you heard the engine roar to life behind you, the car shot forwards and pulled in a few feet before you, again he turned off the engine but this time he got out and approached you. You could only make out the outline of him in the dim light, he was tall, muscular, he could easily take you down if he wanted to, or shove you in the boot of his car. As he got closer you saw his eyes, beautiful green eyes, he looked at you with a furrowed brow his hands were up as he stepped towards you. It was only when he was inches away from you when you realised that you'd stopped walking.

“Are you okay?” He asked again.

“Yeah, I erm …” How do you explain to a complete stranger in the middle of nowhere at night that you were okay?

“Here.” He shrugged off his jacket and slowly approached you, testing the waters with how you’d react to him when you didn't move he draped his jacket over your shoulders. “How long have you been out here?”

“Well, I was getting married at 10 am so since 10 am.” You sighed as you swayed slightly. Looking down your white gown was now a ripped muddy mess.

“You want to get something to eat?”

“I don’t know you.”

“I’m Dean.” He extended out a hand as he smiled, you weren't sure what it was about him but he made you feel safe. “Do you need to call anyone?”

“No.”

“Okay well let’s get you somewhere warm and get some food because I’m starving.” Dean placed a hand on your back as he gently led you towards the car. He opened the door for you, sliding in the seat you watched as he shut the door and walked around the car and got in the driver's seat, you couldn't look at him as he started the car. Your attention fell to the trees outside as you began to cry, the tears fell for the first time in hours, you really had nothing.

“So … why’d you run?” Dean asked as he drove.

“It wasn't right … I didn't love him.” You choked back your sobs as you wiped away the tears. “I’m a mess.” You whispered to yourself.

“You’re not.” Dean's response made your head snap up to look at him.

“You don't know me, Dean. I left a man who loves me at the altar, what a fucking cliche.” You managed a laugh. “I have nothing, literally no phone, money, ID, I just ran.”

“I’ve survived with nothing, you’re going to be okay.”

Surprisingly you were okay, Dean took you for food in a small diner near the motel he was staying at. You sat and ate with Dean ignoring all the looks you two were getting. He tried to get you a room at the motel but it was fully booked, instead, he gave you his bed. “Here I have these for you too they’ll probably swamp you but …” He stopped as he looked down at your ruined wedding dress.

“Dean, thank you so much, I can’t thank you enough for the clothes for the food, thank you.” You smiled at him as you walked into the bathroom.

After you’d showered away the day you put on the black shirt and grey boxers Dean had kindly given you. As you towelled dried your hair you could hear voices in the room, putting your ear to the door you listened.

“Dude don’t tell me you’ve brought some chick back.”

“Well yes and no,” Dean explained to the other man. “I found her.”

“What do you mean you found her? In a bar?”

Deciding now was the time to make your appearance you opened the door and walked out the bathroom dragging dress behind you.

“Hi.” You looked at the mystery man.

“Hi.” He looked between you, the dress in your hand and Dean.

“Y/N this is my brother Sam, Sam this is Y/N.” Dean introduced you both.

“Nice to meet you.” He like his brother extended his hand which you shook, whoever had raised these boys had raised them with manners. “Dean, can I talk to you outside please?”

“Sam, if it’s about me you can just go for it, I’ve had a bad day you can’t make it any worse.” With a look, Sam signalled for Dean to go outside, obviously not wanting to hurt his feelings.

The door shut behind them, this hotel wasn't the best so you could hear every word they were saying.

“What are you doing?” Sam asked.

“She needs help.”

“What the hell happened?”

“I was driving back and she was walking alone in just her dress, I pulled up to see if she was okay, she was freezing and she’d been out since 10 am. I took her for food tried to get her a room here but they’re booked so she’s here. Happy?”

“What happens tomorrow?”

"I don’t know.”

“Okay.”

You watched the TV as they both entered the room. “Everything okay?”

“Yeah.” They spoke in unison.

“I’ll sleep here.” You informed as you settled into the armchair.

“No, you’re taking the bed.”

“No, Dean you’ve done enough for me, I’ve taken enough from you.”

“Y/N, please, you’ve had a rough day.” The look he gave you was hard to say no to.

“Fine,” You smiled as you stood up. walking to him you wrapped your arms around him. “Thank you for saving me, Dean.” You mumbled into his chest as his arms wrapped around you.

Your arms were wrapped around Dean as he were around you, both of you swaying as you travelled across the dance floor as your loved ones watched you take your first dance together.

“I love you.” You whispered.

“I love you too, did I ever tell you how happy I am you left, Josh?”

“Once or twice.” You smiled up at him. “Did I ever tell you how happy I am you found me?”

“Once or twice.” Dean echoed as you both continued to dance the night away.

A Chick Flick Moment

So I had this idea because @saxxxology and I were talking before bed last night and this idea came up and I sort of wrote it in my head as I was trying to fall asleep. It then turned out way different than I planned but, eh, c’est la vie.

As little as Dean spoke, it was easy to know when something was wrong.

For example, when he came back from checking the church for clues and pulled Y/N into a rough kiss before even a hello, it was an obvious sign. It was a long moment before he pulled away, burying his head into the crook of her neck and crushing her to his chest.

“Wow, missed you too, honey,” she squeaked from his hold. Her arms finally circled around him, hands resting on his shoulder blades.

Sam came in to see his brother home and, at the sight, sent her a pitying look to her over Dean’s shoulder. His large hands clapped his brother on the back as he walked back to where he had been watching Rowena, leaving them alone.

Y/N’s hands rubbed circles into his back, trying to be a calming force.

Dean finally pulled away, a little shakier than he’d ever admit to. His hands rested now on her shoulders, holding her at arm’s length. Before he completely shut down, her fingers fell to his belt and pulled him back to her in a hug. “No, nope, none of that shit, c’mere.”

He chuckled, letting her hold him.

“Now, you gonna tell me what’s wrong?”

“‘M fine.”

She looked up at him with a bitchface that would make Sam proud.

His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed thickly, refusing to make eye contact with her.

“Okay, c’mon,” she pulled away from his hold and took his hand in hers. She immediately began leading him back towards their room.

“Wait, what about—”

“Nope,” she shook her head. “We’re having a chick flick moment and you’re gonna deal with it.” She twined her fingers together with his before opening the door to their bedroom.

Once inside, she maneuvered him towards the bed, sitting down beside him once he was settled.

Dean’s eyes were still glued to the floor. She reached up and trailed her fingers through his hair, coming down to cup his cheek.

He let his head press into her palm, letting her hold him up a bit. Then it all spilled out. He told her of how he had run into Amara, how the knife had shattered in his hands, and, worst of all, the part that really ate at him, the kiss he had shared with God’s sister.

Y/N sat and listened, finding a way to touch him, to offer him any sort of comfort she could. When he told her of the kiss, he felt her stiffen, her hold on his hand tightening enough to cause his fingers to go numb.

His voice trailed off after that bit of information came out. Without him even speaking, she could hear his insecurities. He had never been good with words, and they tumbled out awkwardly as he tried to explain himself. “I promise, I don’t feel anything for her, it’s just… because of the Mark there’s this weird connection and I never—”

She leaned up, kissing him lightly. He grabbed her by the arms, holding her close and in place, like this was his last time kissing her.

Y/N pulled back, eyes fluttering open like a cliche romance movie. Dean’s eyes were still closed, and she rolled her own. “Dean, I’m not mad.”

His eyes snapped open, his confusion evident. “What?”

“Okay,” she confessed. “I’m a little upset, but I know you. You’ve had every chance on the fucking planet to leave me and you never have. And, if you promise me that it’s not… anything else—” she took a deep breath.

“It’s not,” he answered, his voice barely audible.

She smiled awkwardly. “Look, she’s God’s fucking sister, there’s some weird ass magic shit going on. Promise me you’ll fight it, and you can sleep in here tonight and not on the couch.”

He nodded furiously, a promise already escaping his lips.

She silenced him with another sweet kiss. When she pulled away and smiled. “Okay, chick flick moment done, you’re free to go.”

Y/N pushed herself up off the bed, and then went right back down. Dean’s arms had shot out and around her, pulling her back down, and rolled over on top of her. A wolfish grin came over his features and he said, “I haven’t even finished apologizing yet!”

She rolled her eyes. “What about Sam and Rowena?”

He leaned down, peppering kisses along her neck. “They’ve had you all day—it’s my turn.”
