Daughter From Another Lifetime, Part Two (Bonten!Rindou x Reader)
(part one)
After the conversation with his you, the mother of his child, Rindou did everything he could to make up seventeen years worth of lost time with his daughter. He picked her up from school in his nice car, took her out to eat, took her shopping, and even taught her how to drive like a father should. Other than spending time with d/n, he had other things on his agenda was well.
He couldn't help but to notice how great you looked to be in your early thirties. Both of you looked amazing. You, with your e/c, h/c and h/l, and overall beautiful physique, were as stunning as the day he had met you. Truth be told, he had never fallen out of love with you and thought of you often. He craved you, needed, and wanted you. Hell, he even thought to himself about having a second child with you if it wasn't too late. He enjoyed being a father after all.
One night, after taking d/n out to eat, he brought her home on time as promised. You and Rindou had a set schedule when it came to your daughter. He would pick her up from school, take her out on certain days, and drop her back off at home before or at nine. Only this time, Rindou had invited himself inside to talk more.
As d/n went to her room, he sat himself at the counter once more, making himself at home in your humble apartment.
"I think I should buy you a house." He stated, out of the blue.
"I don't need your help with that, I've got plenty in savings and we're doing just fine here." You sounded cold.
"It would be my gift to you, y/n... I want you to live comfortably and never have to work again." He said, taking a sip of the wine you had poured him. He was still wearing his suit, which was neatly pressed, from work. His lilac and purple hair cascaded down his shoulders as he watched you intently.
"You would really go that far, huh?" You were leaning against the counter now, cleavage out. He was obviously trying not to stare, but what could a man do? He wanted you, badly. He wanted you back so bad that he even told his brother about your return and the fact that he was a father. Needless to say, Ran was surprised that he was an uncle and couldn't wait to meet his niece.
"Yeah, I would. I would do anything for you both." He said, leaning in across the counter and propping his arms on the edge. He wanted to get closer to you, but the damn counter was in the way as you were standing opposite of him. You stayed silent while he spoke up again.
"I want you both to live happily, without worry. I've kept my promise by putting her first. I've been leaving work early and picking her up. I've spent time with her. I've gotten to know her likes and dislikes and she's just like me!" He rambled, a wide grin creeping upon his face. He was trying to win you back.
"I'm glad, Rindou." You smiled at the thought of your daughter finally having her father in her life. You had seen how happy it made d/n to be around her dad. She even came home one day and told you all about the awesome shopping trip he took her on and how she got everything she ever dreamed of, including the newest iPhone.
"So why don't you give me a chance to prove myself even further?" He smiled, taking his hand and placing on top of yours. He got up from the counter and walked around to where you were standing. He towered over you, his eyes gazing into yours.
"What do you mean?" You asked, tilting your head to the side. You wanted him, but not all that he came with. You knew he was in a very illegal, dangerous line of work and you didn't want that to affect your relationship any further than it already has. You caught yourself thinking about the Tenjiku days and how often Rindou would come home with wads of money from seemingly nowhere. That's when you knew he was up to no good.
"I mean... me and you. Let's give us another chance." He started to wrap his arm around your waist. You let him, for a split moment, as you were lost in his gaze. The next thing you knew, you two were inches apart and he was leaning in further. Right when he was about to kiss you, or so you thought, he tilted his head while brushing back a piece of hair behind your ear.
"I think... we can make it work this time." He whispered gently into your ear, his breath grazing your skin, causing you to shiver. You stayed silent; lost in a daze of confusion and thoughts as he leaned back, arm still wrapped around your waist.
"I need time to think about this, Rin..." You trailed off. You wanted him, badly. You were scared though. You were terrified of numerous things. What if he brings work home and someone comes after you and your daughter? What if he gets caught and gets sentenced to prison? What if... he gets killed?
He backed away, trying not to upset you. He could see the look on your face. As he turned to leave, he asked one more question.
"Promise me, you'll think about it?"
You nodded your head in response, still in a daze of thinking. He left without a single word.

“we’re just…friends.” “friends don’t do this type of shit!” FRANKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You asked for some Frankie and you get some angsty Frankie, babeyyy. Did I loosely base this off an experience in my own life? Maybe. But this one has a much better ending. Enjoy!
Frankie Morales x Fem!Reader
Warnings: none
»»————- ♡ ————-««
What was supposed to be a simple shopping trip ended up being a lot more than you had bargained for. You’d gone shopping for Christmas decorations with Frankie, aka your best friend, also aka the love of your life. Except he didn’t know that, and he would never know.
Above all else, he was your best and oldest friend and you didn’t want to lose everything you had with him, and if that meant suppressing your feelings and staying quiet, then you were willing to do. You’d rather have him as just a friend, than nothing at all. And you were sure that he would never like you back. Why would he?
But as you looked around the shelves of the home goods store, chatting away excitedly as you both sipped your hot cocoa, you felt fine, everything was fine. Until he ran into her. His latest girlfriend, aka a girl you just inherently despised, but had no real reason to. She was kind, albeit not a fake way, and friendly, having been more than kind to you on the times you’d met her. She was pretty, fun, and it was easy to see why Frankie had fallen for her; she seemed to make him genuinely happy. Of course she’d chosen today to come to the store at the same time, and he’d greeted and chatted with her for a moments before turning his attention back to you.
You’d tried to pretend everything was fine, in reality it was, and nothing was changed. Something within you had snapped. It had completely broken you were suddenly heartbroken. There was something about the moment, about today, that had you realize just how much you loved him. How much your chest ached at the thought of him, and how you would never having anything more.
And maybe it was time...to let it go. You didn’t want to constantly feel like this, or harbor these jealous feelings any time he’d have a girlfriend, or more. It wasn’t fair to him, or to you. You either laid it all on the table, or you had to walk away. You just knew you couldn’t do it anymore.
“Bee?” Frankie’s soft warm voice reached your ears as you looked at the small little bee ornament displayed on the tree. It had made you smile when you’d seen it initially, especially since that been Frankie’s nickname for you since you were kids, “is everything okay?”
“Y-yeah,” you took your hand away from it and blinked a few times in order to keep your tears at bay before taking a step back. You looked at those eyes, those soft brown eyes, before making a hasty decision, “I, um, I have to go to.”
“What?” he asked, confusion visibly crossing his features, “what do you mean? We just got here and we’ve still got plans-”
“I know, I just remembered that I have to go,” you lied as you tried to offer him a small smile, “I’m so sorry, Frankie.”
“I drove,” he reminded you, “let me give you a ride to wherever you need at least.”
“No, it’s okay,” you had your back to him, a few tears spilling down your cheeks as you kept your back to him, “I’ll get an Uber or something-”
“Bee-”
“Goodbye, Frankie,” you interrupted him before he could go on, rushing out of the small shop as you started to sniffle and cry, not even bothering to hold it back anymore. You knew, the remaining logical part of you knew, that it wasn’t exactly fair to do this to him either without some sort of explanation, but you couldn’t do it. Not right now anyway....maybe one day.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
One day had turned into several days and several days into weeks.
You hadn’t meant to let it get this far, but once it started you couldn’t stop it. Days were spent wallowing and crying, feeling sorry for yourself even though you had brought at least part of this yourself.
And Frankie? Poor Frankie. He was seemingly just as distraught as you were. He had called and texted nearly everyday, checking in on you, asking if you were okay, but everything went unanswered. He even came over in the evenings after work and you feigned sleeping or that you weren’t home. He even came by your office and asked about you, but you had politely declined his visit.
You were being a terrible, awful jerk and you knew it. You just couldn’t handle being around him at all right now. It was all too much and not even at the same time. But he was persistent, damn persistent and he wasn’t about to let you walk out of his life. Not without a good reason.
So one evening, after he was off work, he came straight over to your house, sitting down on the porch and waiting for you to get home. He was done waiting for answers. It had caught you so off guard that you panicked and didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t like you could just hide or run away; no, it was time to face you demons.
Swallowing thickly, you climbed out of your car and slowly made your way over to him, offering him the ghost of a smile as he looked at you with red rimmed eyes. Shit. You hadn’t meant to do this to him. He looked just as nervous as you as he clutched a small box in his large hands.
“Frankie, what are you doing here?” you attempted to side step him, but it was no use. He was on his feet in a flash and blocked your way to the door, “Frankie...”
“Why have you been ignoring me?” there was a crack and a shake to his voice as you allowed yourself to meet his eyes, “you ran out on me and then have been ignoring me for three weeks. Bee, what’s wrong? Did I do something?”
“Frankie,” you already felt the warm, familiar sting behind your eyes as you realized this was happening. It had to, after all, at one point or another. There had been no way that Frankie was going to let anything go, “please don’t do this. Not now...”
“Then when?” he asked as you stared at your feet and shrugged, “my best friend, and the best damn thing in my life just walks away and says nothing and you except me to just accept it?”
“I...we’re just friends,” you stated as he avoided looking at his eyes. If there was any time to go ahead and spill it all and pour your heart out, it was now. You took a long breath and steadied yourself, “and I don’t know if I can do that anymore...I don’t know if we can be friends anymore.”
“We’ve been friends for almost thirty years,” he let out a small, bitter laugh, “and you want to just stop? For no reason?”
“I have a reason,” you wiped away the tears that had rolled down your cheeks, warm and salty as ever, “I can’t be just friends with you, Frankie. Friends don’t do this type of shit, all the things we do. How we are, how we seem...it’s not just friends. You and I both know it, and I know you only see me as a friend. And I can’t keep doing it.”
“What do you mean we’re just friends?” he asked softly as you held up your hands in frustration, “please just say what you want to say. I-I’ve been worried sick about you for weeks, at least be honest. And if then you still decide you want nothing to do with me, I’ll respect that.”
“Frankie, I...I’m in love with you,” the words came out surprisingly easy. They’d been on the tip of your tongue, as you always seemed to dance around them, for years. And now they were out, on the line just like your heart, “and I don’t just mean I love you, but I’m in love with you. Actual love.”
“D-do you mean it?”
“Yes,” you nodded slowly, “and that’s why I had to walk away...you deserve happiness Frankie, we all do, and you seem so happy with Ashley, and she seems so kind, but I can’t help but harbor negative feelings for her. Because she has what I want...you. And it’s not fair to you or her or me to feel that way and still hang around. It’s no one’s fault, it’s just the nature of the beast. But I think it’s best if we...just didn’t hang out for a while so I can get my own feelings in check and see if I can be just friends with you.”
“I broke up with Ashley,” he admitted as your jaw dropped and you raised your eye in confusion. He nodded at the the surprise on your face, “the day after you ran out on me.”
“What? Why? You seemed so happy together...”
“She was great,” he admitted softly, “and she was very kind and understanding when I told her I couldn’t be with her anymore. She said she’d kind of felt it coming for a while.”
“Oh. Oh. Why? What happened?” you asked as he was now the one to avoid your eyes.
“Nothing happened so to speak,” he confessed, “she asked if I was in love with you and I said yes. I have been for a long time...she said it was obvious. I don’t know...it just hit me. I’d always known, but something changed that day, and I really knew. I decided it was time to tell you too. I don’t want to spend a single day without you, Honey Bee.”
“Frankie...” you looked up and saw that he was crying now too, his cheeks flushed pink as he waited for you to say something, anything. In his haste, he held up the box to you, which you slowly took and gently unwrapped. Inside was the pretty little bee ornament you’d been eyeing at the shop. You cradled it delicately in your hand as you looked up at him, regretting walking away without a word, regretting almost losing him completely, “it’s the one I was looking at it. You got it for me?”
“Of course,” he slowly reached up and put his hand on your cheek, gently stroking your soft skin, “a little bee for my sweet bee.”
“Do you mean it, Frankie?” you keened into his touch as clutched the bee to your chest, “because I don’t want you to say it unless you really mean it.”
“I do,” he promised gently, “the only thing I regret is not saying it a long time ago.”
“Me too,” you agreed, “I’m sorry for walking away like that ignoring you. I shouldn’t have just left.”
“I wouldn’t have let it go without a fight.”
“Good,” you beamed at him, “I love you, Frankie.”
“I love you, Honey Bee,” the two of you just grinned at each other like fools, “can I ask you something?”
“Anything.”
“May I kiss you?”
“Please.”
So he did. Finally.
Frankie finally kissed you. And it was everything and then some that you had always wanted and dreamed of.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Leaning against a stone pillar, I looked out at the view of the lake and the grounds, crossing my arms across my chest to make myself feel warmer. I resisted touching my stomach, still terrified at the thought of life growing in there. I was only seventeen, I hadn't even finished my studying at Hogwarts and this was happening. This wasn't something Fred and I could joke about, or laugh at to make the situation a little better, this was serious, and I couldn't tell how my boyfriend would react.
Feeling a tap on my shoulder, my head whipped round to look, but no one was there. As my head turned to the other side, Fred towered over me, chuckling to himself. But I couldn't bring myself to even smile, instead rolling my eyes at him.
"Hey, what's wrong? I'm sorry I'm late, George and I were speaking, I've got so much to tell you!" he rambled, not taking offence to my action.
"Something...Fred, I...I don't know what to do!" I suddenly started sobbing, which panicked my boyfriend.
He instantly put his arms around me, holding me tight into his chest. At first he let me cry, probably thinking I was stressed about exams (I definitely was on top of everything) before pushing me away and bending down to look me in the eyes.
"Hey, let's sit down yeah?" he guided me to a bench close by, keeping his arms around me as we took a seat.
I couldn't stop my tears, trying to keep quiet in case anyone heard, or before any professors could intervene.
"Here, let me tell you what George and I have been discussing. It'll take your mind off this for a bit, yeah? OK, so, you know how George and I have always said about owning a joke shop, well, something has come through. And after all this stuff going on with Umbridge, we've decided to leave-"
"I'm pregnant." I blurted out.
Unsurprisingly, his eyes widened, mouth dropping open, I could feel his body tense up. Staring up at him, I silently pleaded for him to say something.
"Fred?" I mumbled.
"(Y/N), please say you're joking."
"This isn't a fucking prank Fred!" I exclaimed, shoving him away from me."I’m serious!"
"W-what...I don't know what to say."
I stood up, not able to sit still."Fred, we're having a baby. What are we going to do? We've still got exams, and then graduation, not to mention having to tell our parents and-"
"(Y/N), I'm not doing my exams."
"What do you mean you're not doing your exams? Fred, it's literally coming to the end of our studies, why would you throw that away?"
"Because I have a plan, I was just about to tell you! George and I are leaving early and we're getting a shop in Diagon Alley."
"Are you crazy?! Fred, what if it doesn't work? You won't have any exam results, you won't be able to apply for jobs-"
"Well thanks for believing in me, that's great to hear from your girlfriend!" he leapt up from the bench.
"You know I support you through everything, but I'm thinking about our futures! If we have a baby on the way, we need to be able to support it."
"We haven't planned for this! This...this wasn't what I envisioned for us, not now!"
"Oh, and you think I did?"
"Well, what are you going to do?"
"What am I going to do? No, it should be what are we going to do? How dare you?! What, are you just going to leave me as well as Hogwarts?"
When he didn't reply, I scoffed, but it wasn't in an angry way, it was more upsetting than that. My mind went into overdrive, not recognising the man in front of me. I had expected shock, of course I had, but what I wasn't expecting was this rudeness, the bluntness coming from him.
"Fred," I was quieter now,"what are you saying right now?"
"You want to keep it?"
"I...I don't really know yet."
"So we're arguing about something that might not even effect us!"
"Even if we got rid of it, it wouldn't be a matter of 'let's just forget about it'. Do you know how hard that is for a woman? And the father?"
He hastily grabbed my hands."Then leave with me! We've always talked about living together after we finish school. What difference does this make?"
"I want to do my exams Fred! Even if I didn't, my parents wouldn't allow it. And that was easier to plan for back then. It would just be us. We could have a small space anywhere. But with a baby? We need somewhere safe, somewhere that is a good place to raise them, and we also need to feed three people, buy nappies, clothes constantly because babies grow a lot-"
"I can't do it." he interrupted.
"Fred, please, I love you. I know we can figure something out-"
"No, I...we're too young, this isn't fair." his eyes were distant, as if he was staring straight through me.
"What you're saying isn't fair! I couldn't have done this by myself."
"I just...I don't know what else to say I..."
He said no more as he rushed away from me, and I was too stunned to go after him. As he picked up the pace, he passed Mcgonagall, who glanced between us before she approached me. "I think we should have a word Madam Pomfrey, shouldn't we Miss (Y/L/N)?"
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Mummy!" (Y/S/N) yelled out, just like he did every day.
I sighed as I brought out the kids breakfast, setting it in front of them."Don't worry, you're not going to starve. Here you go darling."
"Thanks." he mumbled, picking up his spoon and eating. He was always more awake in the morning compared to his sister.
"Thank you mummy." (Y/D/N) quietly said, also digging into her food.
I smiled at them both, quietly laughing at their wild hair from their sleep, before grabbing myself a bowl of cereal. Quickly returning, I sat down with them, my smile faltering as I looked at (Y/D/N) pale face.
"Do we have to go hospital today?" she asked. She hated how many times we had to go, the appointments were becoming more and more regular.
I nodded."Yes darling. But (Y/S/N) is coming today, because he's not at school for a while! You can play together whilst we wait for the doctor."
"I'll play with you (Y/D/N)." her brother kindly said.
"I don't want to go." (Y/D/N) frowned.
"We have to. Remember, they're helping you get better."
"I want to play at home."
"I promise it won't be very long. We've got our trip soon, haven't we?"
"How many more days mummy?" (Y/S/N) excitedly asked.
"Only two! We need to start packing your bags."
(Y/S/N) started to chat away about this trip he knew nothing about, listing every single item he was bringing, whereas his sister was silent as she finished her breakfast. She had been a sickly child compared to her healthy twin brother. The hospital had diagnosed her, and explained that I needed to ask family members to have blood tests, to see if they matched with her and could help in any way. My side of the family had no luck, and after much deliberation with myself (and my parents), I knew I had to see Fred again, I had to face him. But with my little girl so ill, so weak, I would face down Voldemort himself to make her well again. Though I had a feeling seeing 'He who shall not be named' would be a lot easier than seeing the father of my children.
The day of the trip came, and the kids were excited. We had packed their tiny suitcases, and I an overnight bag, before setting off. All day I had kept a smile on my face, not wanting to worry them. They thought it was a mini holiday, something we had never been on due to money. For five years it had been the three of us, with me at work, then at school and their grandparents when I had a late shift before cuddling up in bed with a good story together. It was a simple life, but they brought me so much joy, I couldn't express how happy they made me if I tried, it was infinite. And now I was taking them to meet their father I had avoided talking about, I was worried what it would do to our bond.
"That's a strange house mummy." (Y/D/N) said as we approached the Burrow, a place I had spent much time in.
"This is where your other grandparents live. It's very nice here. And they are very nice people." I said as we continued walking.
"We say, we say please and thank you, don't we mummy?" (Y/S/N) added.
I giggled."Yes, we do."
We were now stood outside of the house, right in front of the door, but I still clutched onto my children's hands. They were confused as to why I wasn't knocking, why I was standing still. It was as if I was frozen. So when (Y/S/N) boldly stepped forward and knocked, I was pulled out of my trance. Before I could say anything to him, I heard movement coming from the other side of the door, and pulled him back towards me. There was no turning back now. Molly opened the door, her jaw almost hitting the floor as she set her eyes on me, then the kids, which is when she gasped. I bravely smiled, taking a deep breath to hold back the tears.
"H-Hi Molly. I'm...I'm really S-sorry just showing up out of the b-blue-" I couldn't stop stuttering over my words,"but...but I thought it was time you met your grandchildren."
Molly had immediately ushered me inside, throwing her arms around me as soon as the door closed. Holding my face in her hands, she studied my face, seeing how much I had changed over the years.
"I can't believe you're here!" she quietly exclaimed."It's been so many years."
"I'm sorry Molly. I didn't mean to disappear." I began welling up, trying to hold it back in front of the kids.
"Dear, don't apologise for a thing. We can talk about this later." she comforted me, stepping back to look at her grandchildren."So, these are your children?"
"My twins, ironically. (Y/D/N), (Y/S/N), this is your nan, Molly."
They stayed close to me, only (Y/S/N) letting go of my hand. I gently encouraged them forwards, pushing them towards Molly. She used the table beside her to help her kneel down, slowly extending her arms out to them. I felt overwhelmed as (Y/S/N) cautiously stepped towards her, hugging Molly before leaving her embrace again. It was one of those shy hugs kids gave, when they knew it was the right/polite thing to do but weren't sure of it themselves.
Molly was the only one in the house, and we let the kids play as we sat and caught up on what happened in the last five years. For me, there was a slight awkward tension in the air, but Molly's warm smile made me forget about that. I'm sure she had tons of questions as to why I never brought the twins round, and why I only showed up when I wanted something.
"Why don't you stay the night? I can hardly get Fred to stop by now. But there's plenty of room." Molly offered.
"Oh, only if that's alright with you! That would be very helpful. Um, do you think he’ll even want to see me?”
She kindly smiled as she slowly nodded.“My son is still just as infatuated with you as he was all those years ago.”
I refrained from snapping about how he never sent a letter, checked to even see if I was alright, if I had kept the pregnancy going. But then again, I had also cut off any contact with him, so it wasn’t entirely fair for me to say that. However, I was the one carrying twins by herself, raising them as a single mother (my family helped as much as they could, though no one could replace a father figure). And although the catch up with Molly had been good, it had lifted this tension from my body, I hated how my stomach twisted at the thought of Fred showing up here. Hi reaction was completely unknown. He could have moved on, maybe Molly was just wanting us together again; what if he was seeing someone, someone without children, someone who was free to do what they wanted and more fun than I was? He could easily turn a blind eye to it all. Or perhaps he would want to be a part of the family now. But why should I let him in after all these years? He missed five years of their life, and I understood that he would have no clue where we were, though there were ways of tracking us down. My mind was conflicted, I was here to make (Y/D/N) better, that was the top priority.
When Arthur returned that evening, he wore the same expression Molly had had when I first arrived. Although he was happy to see me, he wasn’t shouting or bouncing off the walls, he was more concerned; asking me all these questions, wanting me to go in depth about (Y/D/N)’s illness and how they could help. Both of them agreed they would help, and that once I spoke with Fred, they would ask the rest of the family also.
Molly had laid out a full breakfast the next morning, though I really didn’t feel like eating. The kids got stuck right in, eating more food than I think I’ve ever seen them eat. They weren’t used to treats like this, we weren’t extremely poor, but even a fancy cereal was out of the question for us. I shared a smile with Molly and Arthur, thanking them for their hospitality. (Y/S/N) and (Y/D/N) were more comfortable with them, sometimes talking to them, or showing their toys. As we sat at the table, our plate and bowls now empty, Arthur gestured for me to follow him to the other room.
“(Y/N), I just wanted to make sure you were ready for today. I’ve had this same talk with Fred.” he quietly said.
I looked down at my feet, my arms crossing over my chest.“I don’t think I’ll ever be fully ready to see him again.”
“You have been very brave coming here. I can see how difficult this is for you. But I understand wanting to look after your children, it’s a feeling you only ever experience once you have them. Molly and I spoke last night. Even if, for some bizarre reason, Fred doesn’t...he doesn’t....”
“He doesn’t want to be around us.”
Arthur sighed sadly.“We will still help you. And you always have a place here, you always have family here.”
I hugged him, feeling like a child again in his arms. I felt protected, like nothing could hurt me whilst I was here. When we returned to the others, Molly was already clearing everything away, (Y/D/N) and (Y/S/N) talking each others ears off. Molly denied my help as I offered, knowing that I was very nervous and wanted the kids ready, as well as myself before their father arrived. I was happy that they were in a good mood, talking amongst themselves rather than asking lots of questions. But I still needed to sit them down, tell them who they were meeting today.
“You two look amazing!” I beamed, sitting them down on the edge of the bed, me kneeling in front of them.
“Mummy looks...mummy looks like a princess.” (Y/D/N) giggled as she clutched onto her own princess doll.
“Thank you. Do you guys remember why I said we were coming here?”
“To meet daddy.”
“Yeah.” my voice turned shaky.“So, we need to be really good today OK? You guys were so good yesterday, and I need you to be like that again please. Me and daddy might need to talk for a while, so you two can play together, or with granddad Arthur and grandmother Molly.”
“Where is daddy?” (Y/S/N) asked.
“He’s on his way.”
“No, not, not now. Where has he been? Because all my friends have daddies, they have mummies and daddies, but I don’t.”
“He’s...he’s been....”
How was I supposed to explain this to a five year old?
“It’s a bit confusing darling. But that doesn’t matter because he’s here now.”
(Y/D/N) looked away from her doll.“Will he come home with us?”
“I don’t know. Just don’t be upset if he doesn’t. We’ve been fine, just the three of us, haven’t we?”
They nodded, and I pulled them in to hug me. Their little arms wound around me where they could, and I could feel their tiny hands grasping at me. Squeezing them tighter, I laughed when they did, exclaiming they I was holding them too hard. Pulling away, I kissed them both on the cheeks, holding their hands to take them downstairs. However, my grin fell as I heard the door open, Fred’s voice ringing out. My body stiffened, heart starting to race quickly. Instinctively, I pulled the twins closer to me, not sure if I should go to Fred or wait here.
“It’s alright dear, I’m here.” Molly calmly said beside me.
All I could do was smile. My throat turned dry, breathing shaky and I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. I heard Arthur speaking to his son, but it was muffled, until footsteps started approaching. And suddenly, there he was, the boy I feel deeply in love with was now a man, standing even taller than before. Although we both looked different, it was as if we were teenagers again.
“(Y/N)...I...I can’t believe...” he couldn’t form a sentence, his gaze now on the twins.
I knelt between my children, hugging them close to me.“This is (Y/S/N), and (Y/D/N). They’re my world. And...your children too.”
The kids curled into me, noticing the tension in the room. They didn’t know this big man, and they could sense that I was on edge. I put on a brave face for them. I was their mother, their protector, I would always ensure that they felt comfortable, safe, happy and loved.
“M-my children?” he was still looking at them.
“I think you two should talk before...well before a proper meeting, yeah?” Arthur gently suggested.
“Alright.” I agreed.“You two go upstairs and play, you can come down in a bit, OK?”
“Come on you two, let’s go see what toys I’ve got for you. You can show me yours.” Molly said happily, wanting to make the kids relaxed.
They hesitantly went, but I heard them starting to talk about what toys they had and wanted as they climbed the stairs, Molly feigning surprise and interest.
“I’ll just be in the garden, should you need me.” Arthur said before leaving.
And then there we were. Just us two again. I hadn’t seen him in five years, not since that week of our argument. Multiple emotions rushed through me; I could be angry, upset, frustrated, desperate, loving, relieved...all were pushing their way to the front of my mind, wanting to have their chance to speak.
“Five years.” Fred mumbled.
“Five years.” I repeated.
“I...I can’t speak. I can’t, I can’t think right now. I had so much I wanted to say.”
I didn’t know how to respond.
“Their names...I remember us talking about them.”
“Yeah. I always liked them.”
“Are they...well, do they know...”
“They know you’re their father. I've always avoided this kind of topic as much as I could with them. They've obviously asked in the past, but I guess since they were so used to it just being me, it was normal for them."
"How have you been?"
"Pretty good, for what it's worth. I was able to get on my feet, with the help of family, I gave birth to them with no complications, all by myself until the last minute. Mum had burst into the room, her face bright red as she rushed to my side. It was scary. And from there I managed to get us a small house, just the necessary rooms, and I try and treat them as much as I can, if the budget will allow it."
"Why didn't you contact me sooner?"
"Why didn't you contact me?" I snapped back."You had the means to do so as well. You probably had more time than I had to even think about contacting me!"
He slightly raised his hands, trying to calm me down."OK, I'm sorry. That was a stupid question."
“No, I'm sorry." I sat down at the kitchen table, head in my hands."I'm just feeling a lot of mixed things right now."
I heard him shuffle around before the chair next to mine scraped along the floor, and he sat in it."I know. So am I."
"I came here because (Y/D/N) is sick. An option we have is a transfusion of blood but we have to find the right person. They said the most likely match would come from a family member. All of mine have tried, even distant relatives. That's why I came in the first place."
His face had fallen into a sad expression, eyebrows furrowed."Wait, what does that mean?"
"She won't die, nothing like that. Even with the right treatment, she would have to go to hospital throughout her life. (Y/D/N) will be a sickly person throughout her life."
“Of course I’ll help. I know we all will.”
I smiled through my tears.“Thank you Fred. That means everything to me.”
“But...” he looked down at the table, slowly sliding his hand towards mine. He boldly placed it on top of mine,“I want to look after you too.”
“Fred-”
“No, please listen. There has not been a day where I didn’t regret what I said to you the last time we saw each other. I...I thought about you everyday, but I was too selfish, I was too much of a coward to do anything about it. My love for you, it was...it is enormous. I think as a teen, I knew I was in love, I just didn’t realise how painful it would be when I lost you. And it was all my fault.”
“We’re both to blame. Throughout my pregnancy, I tried to hate you. I convinced myself I did, though deep, deep down in my heart, the love was still there. I told myself I could do this without you, and some days it really felt like that. Others, it would have been nice to have someone else around. And not just to help with the kids. To feel...like a normal family. To have someone look after me at the end of a long day.”
“I can’t believe no one else snatched you up.” he smiled.“You’ve become more beautiful over the years, I didn’t think that was possible.”
I blushed, rolling my eyes at his compliment.“Surprisingly, no one wants a woman with two kids, especially young kids.”
“Can’t say I’m too angry about that.”
“What are we doing Fred? It can’t go back to how it used to be. Not...not straight away.”
“You think you could forgive me?”
“And me?”
“You’ve done nothing wrong.”
“I kept you from your children! I could have done this years ago. They...they could have had their father in their lives, we knew how to get to each other.” I used my free hand to cover my eyes as I began crying.
“Hey,” Fred’s other arm wrapped around my shoulders,“you’re here now with me. I will apologise everyday if it means you can look me in the eyes and feel happiness. You deserve that much. And as for (Y/S/N) and (Y/D/N), I would love to get to know them. We can see where it goes, and further down the line...well, we can take baby steps.”
I sniffled.“You really want to do that?”
He smiled and nodded.“I’m going to be here for you all from now on. They’re my kids, and you’re the mother of my children. I’m going to make up for lost time.”
He tenderly embraced me, and how I had missed this feeling with him. I reacted, holding onto him as I continued to silently cry. He rocked us back and forth, but I could tell he was crying when I felt something drip onto my neck. This didn’t mean all was forgiven, it would take a while to mend everything between us, and for the kids to get used to their father again (and vice versa). Although I knew this would be a journey, I had some faith in it, and I prayed and hoped that someone from the Weasley side could help with (Y/D/N).
We were going to work through this. From what Fred had said, he was desperately wanting to reconnect. Perhaps we could be a family, and the last five years would be nothing compared to the rest of our lives.

Family Business
A/N: It took me a while to write and finish it, but I like the idea a lot. Hope you guys enjoy! Pairing: Mafia!Steve Rogers x F!Reader Word count: 3,008 Warnings: Death, weapons, mention of blood, swearing.
(Gif is not mine, by super-madi16)
Okay, so maybe this wasn’t the way you expected to spend an average Thursday night with your daughter.
Everything was going perfectly fine. The two of you were making dinner together in the large, modern kitchen of your New York penthouse, surrounding by the glimmering of lights from other buildings and down below in the bustling streets that never sleep.
Carbonara was on the menu. It was one of Stella’s favorite things to both make and eat. At the independent age of 16, it was rare that she wanted to spend time with you and Steve anymore. She would much rather be out with her friends and her dad’s credit card than to be cooped up in this rather ginormous penthouse the family called home.
But here she stood, stirring the sauce as you monitored the pasta, complaining about her day and about how stupid boys her age were (as she always put it she was looking for a man, not a boy which always resulted in Steve chocking on whatever he was eating or drinking at the time). That conversation resulted in complaining about school in general, and how much it sucked being a teen.
As you continued stirring the pasta and she went back on her phone to play another song from the Bluetooth speakers in the kitchen, a sudden gunshot erupted. Both of you froze, your eyes scanning the room to see all of the guards rushing in the direction of the noise. But it only took a fraction of a second for your mother bear instincts to kick in. Grabbing your daughter and pushing her into your chest, you desperately ran back and into the secret room behind your clothes in your walk-in closet, that Steve had designed especially for emergencies.
Running your fingers across the area, the door popped open. You desperately pushed your daughter in than yourself, shutting the metal door back with the huge lock and bar, and hid with her in one of the corners, turning the lights off. You could hear her heavy breathing, as clearly she was having a panic attack. Grabbing onto her and her soft hair, you held her and murmured sweet words of endearment in an attempt to calm her down, which seemed to work... some.
It wasn’t until you heard a loud bang against the door that you yourself softly gasped and clung onto your daughter, she let out a soft sob. Knowing someone, who was probably not an ally, was on the other side of the door frightened you and both her. She was the first, you noticed, to throw herself away from your and to a box only a few feet away. Through the dark, you could see her open the wooden box and grab a gun inside, her shaky hands visible. She slowly and as silently as she could, cocked the gun. “Stel,” You whispered to her, “I got it.” She shook her head. “Stella I told you-”
The loud crash from the metal door that one divided safety and danger between the two of you and the outside world came colliding down. You couldn’t identify much but a man with a gun in all black, his silhouette disrupting the light from your closet that seeped its way through the doorway. None of Steve’s men would dress in all black.
You weren’t sure what to do. In a fluster within your mind as your daughter held the sole weapon you two had and a man who could end it all right here, or worse, drag it on further out. Your eyes froze in a complete panic your hands involuntarily shaking and shivering cold with fear.
A gunshot sounded, the man falling to the floor in a single second as blood surrounding his body and ricocheted onto the walls. You gasped in relief, looking over to your daughter, “Stella?”
There the young girl, long brunette hair with delicate waves at the end, sat on her knees in complete horror and awe, staring at the dead body. She dropped the gun from her right hand and let out a horrid sob. Cupping her face in her hands, you rushed over on your hands and knees, holding her as tightly as you could without suffocating her body. You cooed her, brushing her soft hair in your fingers and placing your own chin on her head, engulfing both her body and soul within yours.
“I-I,” She mumbled, “I killed someone.” It took everything within your being not to start crying yourself, or worse, lash out at someone or something. The genuine and pure form of anger that pulsated in your veins made you want to rip something to shreds.
While ultimately this wasn’t Steve’s fault, you were mad at whoever did this. You had chosen this life with your husband, you two had chosen to have a child together. You brought her into this world, without her permission, and you always tried your hardest to keep her out of the world of Mafia.
She had been interested since day one of getting involved, being the head man, or headwoman just like Steve. And when she asked him about it all he wasn’t only happy to hear about her interest, he was proud. Something that Steve rarely meant, unless it was for Stella.
But you knew after tonight, that would change.
It was only a few minutes later, you were sure, but it felt like an hour for Steve himself and a whole military worth of his men to arrive. “Y/N?” He called out, running into your closet judging by the pattern of his feet moments on the hardwood floors, “Stella?”
His figure appeared in the light, his face turning from concern to sadness. Dropping the anger that once tensed his muscles, he walked over and dropped to the floor next to your daughter, as Bucky and Sam rounded the corner to see both the scene and the body in awe.
“Baby?” Steve cooed to your daughter. For the first time, she looked up with swollen and soaked eyes. Another sob escaped her lips as she moved from you to him, clinging onto his dress shirt for dear life as she cried into it, his large arms embracing her in a large hug as he kissed the top of her head. “It’s okay sweetheart, it’s okay.”
“D-dad,” She stuttered out, pulling away to look at him.
“Yeah, sweetie?” He looked down at her, still holding her partially.
“I killed someone.” He looked with big eyes at her, then calmed down and sighed.
“Okay.” He huffed out, “We’ll deal with it okay?” He looked back to Bucky and Sam, snapping only once and looking to the body which they had other men help them out with, as Steve turned both you and Stella away.
“Dad, I’m a murderer.” She mumbled as more tears fell down her red cheeks.
“No, sweetheart, no you’re not.” He sighed, “It was self-defense.”
“But I killed someone!” She argued.
“To protect you and your mother.” He repeated himself, “Darling, that’s self-defense. You’re not a murderer, and you never will be.” She continued to hold onto Steve, still crying. “Let’s get out of here, okay?” She nodded, her head still buried in his chest.
He helped you up onto your feet first, checking over your face and giving a quick kiss to the top of your forehead, before retreating back to Stella. He picked her up, carrying her bridal style into the living room. Placing her down on the couch gracefully like she was a porcelain doll, he cooed her a bit more before barking at the men around the room to remove themselves and go elsewhere in the house.
“Baby? Are you okay?” The two of you sat down on the couch. He was on her left, you were on her right. Running his hand through her hair to calm her down, he genuinely looked worried.
“I can’t do that again, Dad.” She leaned into his chest, “I can’t.” She mumbled.
“I know, sweetie, I know.” He sighed, still running his hand over her head. “You won’t ever have to again. I promise.” He gave her a tender kiss on the top of her head, you now rubbing her back in circles with one of your hands. “Do you want some dinner?” He asked her next, aware that no one had eaten yet. She shook her head. “Mkay.” He sighed, not wanting to push her.
“I just- I just wanna go to my room.” She pulled away a little, giving both you and Steve one more hug.
“You sure, honey?” He asked very lightly. She nodded.
“We’ll text you with dinner options, alright?” You spoke up and she nodded. “We love you.” You smiled at her. She nodded and walked away. Once she was up the stairs, Steve let out a sigh and moved closer to you, throwing his arm around you. You sank back into his chest, closing your eyes to absorb the warmth and safety.
“And how are you?” He asked, giving you a kiss on the head.
“As good as I can be.” You replied. “I’m just worried about her.” He nodded.
“I am too.” He admitted, “I’m so sorry that happened, it’s my job to protect you two and-”
“And you weren’t here so it’s not your fault, Steve.” You fought back peacefully.
“But if that fucker wouldn’t have-”
“Steve, stop.” You told him firmly, “There’s no need to blame yourself for any of this, okay? If we should be worried about anything it’s Stella.” He nodded in agreement.
You felt some guilt as well. You should have been the one to have the gun, you were the adult in the situation. Granted Stella was exactly like Steve; she was persistent, she was stubborn. Usually, that would get her places, she could even get more money out of Steve for shopping trips or to go out with her friends because of her negotiation skills and how she would never stop. But today was drastically different, this was a situation where you didn’t want those traits to play out. Especially the way they did.
You curled into his chest, his arms wrapping around your body, your back to his chest. “I love you, so much.” He mumbled into your hair.
“I love you too.” You slightly smiled, rubbing his arms with your hands.
“So you know what you want for dinner?” He asked you next.
“I don’t care,” You sighed, “Maybe that Italian spot a few blocks away. The one that Wanda’s family owns.”
“Oh yeah,” He responded, “Let’s get take out from there.” He pulled out his phone, still holding you with one arm, and got the menu. “Should we get Stel something?” He asked, you nodded.
“Even if she doesn’t eat it tonight we can keep it in the fridge.” He nodded in agreement.
“What do you think she would want?” He asked you again and you lightly laughed.
“You know what she wants.” You rolled her eyes.
“Chicken tenders.” You both said in tandem, light laughter following. “Mkay love,” He got up, letting you set yourself back on the pillows, “I’m gonna go order, alright?” You nodded in agreement.
As he departed down the hall to order, to leave you without any disturbance, you chose to watch some TV. More as a mindless distraction, something to keep your eyes from replaying the scene in your mind of your daughter defending you. Something to occupy the ringing in your ears between the gunshot and the sobs of the one you loved most.
You tried so hard to be calm and collected, for both her and Steve. You knew Steve would loathe himself enough about all of this, now was your time to be the rock in the family. Even if you weren’t all that solid at the moment.
“Love? Baby, you there?” You heard Steve, breaking you from your trance.
“Huh, what?” You looked up with a soft smile as you glanced at his face. He smiled back.
“You zoned out there for a sec,” You nodded as he came to sit next to you again. He examined your face for a moment, seeing right through you as if your walls were made of glass. “Baby, I need you to talk to me.” He said softly, with a slight tinge of worry in his voice. You sighed, looking down to your hands and then back up at him.
“I’m just-” You tried to contemplate which words would accurately fit how you were feeling, “I’m conflicted.” You admitted to which he gave an inquisitive look.
“How so?” He asked.
“I want to- I need to be there for Stella,” You began, “But I also haven’t had time or space to process this myself. and maybe that’s selfish, I’m sure it is. But it’s all just so much-”
“It’s not selfish,” Steve insisted plainly, “Not at all. Stella’s been through a lot today, but so have you. And if you need all the time and space in the world to figure this out, I’ll figure out a way to give it to you.” He offered a kind smile. “I can be there for both you and Stella. That’s my duty.”
“But it shouldn’t be.”
“But it is,” he continued, “Because you willingly chose to immerse yourself in my lifestyle, which was enough to ask for, and Stella didn’t have a say.”
“But still I’m her mom and-”
“And you’ve both been through a lot and you both need time.” He gave you a peck on the cheek, “I love you, and you deserve all the time that you need.”
It took a few days for Stella to come back and begin to interact with you guys again. You had brought food to her room, some candy and ice cream too, everything and anything she needed. Steve had called her off school after yelling at the principal and using the excuse, “I pay enough for that damn school the least you can do is give my kid a few days off” which seemed to work.
It was minimal interaction at first. Initially, she was just grabbing some water. Then it turned to snacks, then to a very small conversation, then to her finally spending some time with you guys.
It wasn’t until you had all sat down for a family dinner that she had begun to open up, just a bit though. It was primarily you and Steve attempting to talk about things of interest that related to her: politics, books, anything you could. She remained silent, in her own mind and world. You weren’t sure what she was thinking, but you didn’t want to push or interrupt her either.
“Dad?” She finally spoke up, her voice reaching just above a whisper. Both of your heads shot up to where she sat, next to Steve and across from you.
“Yes, sweetie?” He asked, putting his full attention on her.
“I- um,” She began contemplating what she was going to say, looking down at her food which she has slowly been eating, “I need to tell you something, now, but you have to promise me that even if you get mad, you won’t yell or anything.”
“Of course not,” He grabbed her free hand and held it on the table, “I promise.”
“Okay.” She took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a few brief moments before looking back up to him, “I don’t think I can take over all of this.” She admitted, clearly awaiting a response with little breath.
“All of what?” Steve asked.
“Your position.” She clarified.
Naturally, she was next in line to be the mob boss. Sure she was a girl, Steve didn’t care though. He had been preparing her for most of her life. But you knew from the moment she pulled that trigger that that was it. She would never be able to be in the mob.
Steve stared for a few seconds, looking down and giving off a quiet sigh before clearing his throat. “That’s fine.” He lightly smiled, still holding her hand. She gave a confused look.
“A-are you sure? You have to be mad-”
“No, no I’m not. I get it.” He admitted, “And don’t worry. We’ll find someone to take over. We can’t forget Will, Uncle Buck’s son, he could take over too.” She nodded lightly.
“Thanks, dad.” She looked up at him with a tight smile, to which he smiled back.
“Darling, I hope you realize that your mother and I didn’t just have you to take over the business,” He clarified, “You’re our daughter, and that’s your first and only role to us.” You nodded too, silently agreeing with what he was saying.
“Thanks, Dad,” She softly smiled, “I love you guys.”
“We love you too.” You smiled, grabbing her other hand, before looking to Steve raising one of your eyebrows. He gave you a confused look, pondering over what you were trying to communicate, before finally getting it.
“Oh,” He sighed, with a soft smile, turning his attention back to Stella. “Your mother and I thought it might be best to take some time off, with you, of course, so we scheduled a three-week trip to stay down in Palm Beach, at the house there.” He smiled at her, to which she smiled back.
“Wait, but what about school?” She asked. Steve rolled his eyes.
“I dealt with it don’t worry.” He began, as you got up to begin taking plates to the dishwasher, “fuck school anyways.” Stella began laughing as water flew out of her mouth, to which she covered her mouth with her hand in shock, and Steve began laughing too.
“Hey!” You scolded him, “We should not be preaching that to our daughter. Or any kid for that matter.” He rolled his eyes.
“I’m also allowing you to take three friends. No boys though, and their absence will be dealt with too.”
“Thanks, again, dad.” She smiled, genuinely, for the first time in weeks.

part 11 | masterlist

zuko x reader
this is a very long and fluffy update and I hope it makes up for my lack of posting these past couple days 🥺🥺💕💕💕
Zuko POV
“What is your partner’s name again?”
“Uncle, they aren’t my partner,” carrying a tray of used tea cups towards the back of the shop, I cleared my throat as I set it down by the sink for washing later. “Their name is y/n.” I folded my arms across my chest and faced towards Iroh, a grin displayed clearly.
“You’re telling me that my nephew is doing all this work for a friend?” he laughed.
“I’m doing all this work because you’re letting us stay in the loft,” my hands pointed to the stairs, “Besides, I owe them a favor and they’ve never been to Ba Sing Se, it’s the least I could do.” Which wasn’t a complete lie. I did owe them a favor, after everything I did I’m surprised they even responded to my initial dm. The only problem was keeping uncle out of the loop. He always had a knack for knowing when I was being sneaky and although it was a sense that came in handy when I was a child, as a fully capable adult it has now become annoying.
“What do you plan on doing tonight?”
“Um, I’m not too sure, I’m just planning on showing them the main spots of the city and then maybe some dinner.” I tried to play it off cool, but inside my heart was pounding at a rate far from healthy.
“Just make sure when you guys get back to lock the doors and wash any dishes you use, I’ll be in around nine in the morning tomorrow.”
“I will, don’t worry.” I watched as uncle took the shop key off the hook on the back wall. He tossed it to me with a wink, “Have fun Zuko.”
The shop was now mine for the night and I still had a couple hours before I had to leave to pick y/n up. There wasn’t much left to do since I had been here all day to help with customers and cleaning. I finished setting up the loft early this morning, it wasn’t anything super fancy. A couch that could be folded into a bed was pressed to the side wall and a nice mattress layed towards the back. I set up some fairy lights and a couple lanterns placed on tables around the room to add a relaxed ambience when lit tonight.
I can’t explain the feelings I’m having, nervous? Excited? I’m not sure, it’s hard to say. When Azula first told me about y/n she described them as this ugly, manipulative, mean person. But they aren’t like that at all. I remember when I first watched their video, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of them. They were beautiful, and the way they laughed made me feel warm inside, something I haven't felt in a long time. Azula insisted they were bad, and unfortunately I believed her. When they retaliated against me I didn’t know how to act, it filled me with rage because no one ever retaliates against me. I genuinely did hate them for a while but when the private investigator told me about what happened with their mom I wanted to take everything back. They had already been through so much and I was taking away something that could potentially work out really well. Despite what happened in the past I want this night to be a sort of ‘peace treaty’ if possible.
Y/N POV
The circumstances weren’t exactly ideal.. Zuko, the one who bullied me relentlessly with his twitter fingers was going to be my tour guide of Ba Sing Se for the night. The warnings from Katara and all my other friends wouldn’t leave my head and I couldn’t seem to shake the feeling that they were right. I did forgive too easily, but it was too late to cancel and plus I’ve never been to the city before.
I packed a small bag with a change of clothes and a couple miscellaneous items, being unsure of what the night would bring I made sure to pack some pepper spray too. I don’t think Zuko would try to hurt me, but being in a big city with one of the biggest jerks I know I had to come prepared.
It’s nearing five in the afternoon and my nerves are starting to get the better of me. Anytime now Zuko would be here and I’m starting to realize how awful this situation is. I could taste blood in my mouth from chewing on the inside of my cheek, “fuck,” I said while reaching for my phone. Almost on instinct my fingers swiped to Katara’s name in my contacts. The monotone ring droned on until I heard her pick up on the other line.
“Hello?”
“Katara, I’m freaking out, Zuko’s gonna be here at any moment and I don’t know what to do,”
“Hey it’s gonna be okay, are you sure you want to do this? I can always just make up an excuse for you so you don’t have to go?” I can tell she desperately wants me to say yes, but I can’t bring myself to do it.
“No it’s okay, I just really need someone to talk to until he gets here,”
“Okay, I promise it’s gonna be alright. You’ve got a whole army waiting up tonight to make sure you’ll be okay. Sokka, Suki, and Toph are gonna come over to Aang’s house with me and we’re not going to sleep until you’re back at wherever you’re staying.”
“Okay,” I laughed “If I don’t send updates by 11 send someone”
“Will do, Toph said she’s been ready to practice some knew boxing moves”
“Can’t wait,”
Our conversation went on for several minutes until I heard a knock on my door. “Coming!” I yelled and quickly ended the call, rushing to grab my bag. My hand curled around the handle and realization hit when I opened the door to see Zuko holding a bouquet of sunflowers. I smiled “Are these for me?”
“Yeah, I figured it’s the least I could do to make up for stuff.”
“Thank you,”
He seemed different than in his videos. His face was softer and his voice less harsh. I followed him to his car which was, to put it lightly, much nicer than my mini-van. I’m not even a car person but it was polished black with dark tinted windows and red rims, definitely something I could see him driving. He opened my door, allowing me to slide in and fully appreciate the car. Leather seats accompanied a ‘new car’ smell and the front displayed a touch screen for controls. Shitty person or not, he rides in style.
After pulling away from my apartment the car fills with a low volume of slow RnB, “I’m not too sure if you have anything specific in mind that you want to do, so I figured I’d show you my favorite parts of the city and grab something to eat, maybe some drinks?”
“That sounds great to me,” I smiled.
The rest of the car ride was silent, but with the mix of the sun close to setting, RnB, and the scenery I didn’t feel the need to talk. For a Friday night the traffic wasn’t that bad, we worked our way through it easily and stopped outside of a tea shop.
“This is my Uncle’s shop, there’s a loft on the top he said we could use for the night.”
“That’s so nice of him, I’ll have to come back sometime to say thank you.”
I waited behind Zuko as he fiddled with the door. Now that I am standing next to him it was clear how muscular he was. The tight green shirt fit snug around his shoulders and biceps, his back muscles flexed while giggling the door handle. Finally it popped open and my focus changed to the space we were entering. It was cute and tiny, tables lined the walls and the bar had several stools flipped on top. I followed Zuko as he climbed the stairs to the loft.
“I washed and made the bed for you so you don’t have to worry about bugs or anything,” Zuko pointed to the bed. I walked over to throw my bag down on the mattress “This place is so adorable, I love it!”
“Tea is my uncle's passion, when I was younger and he first started this shop I worked for him. This place is practically my home away from home.” He sat down on the couch facing me.”
I nodded, taking the place in. Fairy lights danced around the ceiling twinkling in a way that was mesmerizing. “Are you hungry?” Zuko asked.
“Is that even a question?” we both shared a laugh, “Come one, I know the best place for some pho.”
***
“And then, I practically threw up all over the place!” I laughed uncontrollably through my mouth full of pho, “I can’t believe that, in the middle of church?!” Zuko’s comment made me laugh even harder. “I swear! My mom was so mad it took everything in her power to not to drag me out by my hair!”
The night was going incredibly well. After a couple awkward ice breakers we somehow got on the subject of disappointing our parents and now we were the loudest table in the restaurant. Zuko was so much easier to talk to than I expected, and we had a lot in common.
“Excuse me, but would you and your partner like any dessert?” I was too busy laughing, I didn't even see the waiter approaching.
“Oh, they aren’t my partner.” I couldn’t help but snort which in turn made Zuko start laughing again, “I think we’re ready for the check if that’s alright” he said with as much composure and he could muster. I waited until the waiter was out of sight, “Partner” I snorted again. “Hey, the guy was just trying to find out if you were single,” I rolled my eyes at Zuko’s comment. “Whatever..”
“It’s the truth! I bet everytime you go out you’re bombarded with people trying to get with you!”
“Mhmm for sure, but I only grace them with attention if they can guess my favorite color.”
“What’s your favorite color?” Zuko stared at me, rolling his lips to hide his smile.
“Why would you want to know? Are you trying to gain my attention?”
“I just want to make sure I know who I’m dealing with, they say you can learn a lot from people’s favorite color you know..”
“And who exactly is ‘they’?” I asked while crossing my arms.
“I prefer to keep that a secret.” He said while mimicking my stance.
We laughed together again at the stupidity of our argument. The waiter came back with the check and I reached for the cash I brought but before I could even get it to the table Zuko handed him a few $20’s telling him to keep the change. Warmth rose to my face “Thank you, I could’ve at least split it with you,”
“No worries, this is your trip and I wanna make it special.” he smiled, “Come on, there’s something I want to show you.”
We began walking the silent streets of Ba Sing Se, I admired all the little shops along the way. There was so much to do here and so many different people to meet. I think I have fallen in love with the city. When we came upon a small turn Zuko asked me to close my eyes.
“Why?” I smiled, I didn’t really care for the reason but I enjoyed teasing him.
“Just do it,”
With my eyes closed he grabbed my hand. I felt a jolt of energy race through my body. His hands were warm and calloused and much bigger than mine. The same warmth I felt at dinner returned as I tried suppressing my smile to no avail.
“You’re gonna love this.” he said, I could almost see his grin in my imagination. As he guided me I could hear water splashing and turtle ducks quacking. I was so excited I almost opened my eyes. Eventually he stopped me, “Can I open my eyes now?” I asked, wanting to know what he had led me to. “One sec,”
He shifted behind me, I could tell he was standing close because the heat radiating off of his body touched the back of my neck. “Okay, open.”
I was greeted with the sight of a beautiful fountain lit from all around, I felt like I had entered another world. It was so beautiful, the lights reflecting off the water made it even brighter. “What do you think?”
“Zuko, this is so pretty. I love it”
“I’m glad, this is one of my favorite spots. Especially at night.”
“I can see why,”
He made his way right next to me. We were standing so close our fingers grazed each other. I smiled at him nervously, unsure of what to do. “Do you want to feed the turtle ducks? I’ve got some bread”
“Yes!!” I said while practically running towards the animals in the fountain. I sat on the ledge which was a bit wet but not uncomfortable and Zuko took a seat next to me pulling a bag out of his pocket. He handed me a couple pieces to throw into the fountain and I wasted no time throwing it in.
They swarmed the area close to us splashing water as they ate. Zuko and I krept closer and closer together, if I moved my head it would bump into his shoulder.
I felt his hand fall on top of mine and I looked up. His eyes looked into mine and fell to my lips, the tension building had me leaning closer. His hand came up to gently cup my cheek while my eyes fluttered closed. Our lips met with a heat, my breath caught in my chest due to the sudden sensation.
The kiss was slow, but short. This was better than the kiss Haru and I shared back at Aang’s grandparent’s house. This was electric and made me feel something. We pulled away, my forehead falling on his. I could feel my heart beating through my chest.
This felt right.

Fun day / diego hargreeves x reader
~Request~ Hey so re reading this I got an idea that is kinda similar to this request but it you're up for writing it... Diego's girlfriend is sick so he has to take care of her baby girl, and he would go grocery shopping with her or to the park and someone would make a comment of him looking like a great dada judging but how sweet he is to her and such. Wouldn't that be cute?💕
@white-wolf-buckaroo my baby fever just came back after writing thisss!
In the middle of the night. Diego woke me up because I was sweating like I basically jumped out of the bath with my clothes on. My temperature was at 98 but as soon as the morning came it went to 102, I also started coughing really bad. Diego was worried because he didn't know how to help me get better, I just needed sleep but I know I promise D/N we'd have some fun today, and I really don't wanna break the news to her because she'll be hurt.
My coughing fit came back but stronger, diego ran into the room with water. "Honey sit up straight so you can drink this" he held the cup and robbed my back, I managed to not choke on the water and laid back down. "I promised D/N we'd have a girl's day but from how horrible I'm feeling, I won't be able to, she's gonna be so disappointed at me." The threw the pillow over my face, "Y/N, she'll be okay with it. She will understand that her momma is sick." He said pulling the pillow from my face and kissed my forehead. "Hey, I got a surprise for you! Wait here!" He took my hands and placed them over eyes, I kept them there until I heard footsteps. "Open them!"
D/N was helping diego hold the tray of food with a big smile on her face, "You guys thank you!" I said feeling loved, D/N sat next to me, "Digo says you don fewl good mommy." She held my arm looking so sad and it was breaking my heart, "Yes, mommy's sick so we can't have fun today baby, I'm sorry." I was technically crying at this moment. Diego's face light up with excitement, "What if we can?" He winks but I was genuinely confused. "What I'm saying is, what if me and D/N go out today so you can rest?"
It was a really good plan! I get the place to myself and sleep, "That's fine! Wanna go out with diego today?" She excitedly nodded and staring jumping on the bed, held onto the bowl so it wouldn't burn my legs. "Alright! Let's get dressed and we can head out!" He said. Diego doesn't know but, when he's out with her I called it daddy daughter time because, it's cute! And he's a great dad. I haven't said it to because I think it's a little too early or diego isn't ready.
D/N was ready and came to say bye, "I'll call you when we get to the park, love you honey." He then tried to kiss my lips but I pushed him away, "Bye mommy! I wove you!" I smiled. I blew them I kiss goodbye.
I really don't like leaving Y/N by herself, especially when she's sick, but I also didn't want to disappoint D/N. It's only been 10 minutes and we're not even at the park, I gave in and called her.
"Wow, you guys are at the park already?"
"No, I was checking in on you"
"Baby, it's the flu, I'm not dying so loosen up"
"Fine I will, but please call if something wrong!"
"I will, don't worry about me and go have fun, and don't call me when you're driving!"
"okay! Love you baby"
"Love you too! Bye!"
I ended the call, we made it to the park. Took D/N out of the car and I am kidding when say she's got strong arms for being so small, she pretty much dragged me to the swings, I put her in it, she felt like she was flying. I did take some pictures, "Digo! Digo! Swide!" She begged to get out, "Okay my princess, let's play on the slide,"
She was scared the first time so I went with her, after that she's wanted to do it herself, what can I say? She gets it from me. I was sitting with this guy who brought his daughter, D/N made friends with her. As they were running around, D/N Tripped and started crying. I ran faster than I thought I could. She sat on my lap, "Sweetheart are you okay?" I said checking her legs and arms and head, "I hwrt my weg!" She sobbed, she did hurt her leg but she didn't draw blood, I grabbed a Band-Aid from my pocket and put on the spot that hurt her. "Awww my poor baby, it's okay, diego's got you." She slowly stopped crying, she did begin to hiccup, "I want to go bwck to mommy" she says holding my neck tightly. "I know baby, How about we go get ice cream and get one for mommy as well?" She nods with that smile that keeps me going, "That's my girl."
Before we left, the guy with this daughter walked up to us, "You are such an amazing father! She must me the luckiest girl is the world huh?" I never someone actually say that to me before, not even Y/N, Dada does have a real nice ring to it, "Thanks man, but it's other way around, she makes me feel like the luckiest man in the world."
We left the ice cream parlor and made it home.
I just finished watching my show when D/N ran up in squeezed me, "I guess you two had an awesome time right?" I laughed, D/N showed me her leg that has a hello kitty band-aid, "I fwll but digo make it better!" She really really loves him, she's been around other males and she's terrified of them, not diego. She has a special connection with him, "She's fine honey, I made sure my baby girl was okay, you took it like a pro! High five!" She did as told and hit his hand hard which made me laugh.
I turned off D/N's light and put on the nightlight. Most of the time I have to sing her 3 different songs so she'll sleep, she really had a good time. Diego kisses her goodnight, "Night....dada.." she quietly whispered, he was about to scream, I cover his mouth and closed the door. "She called me dada!!" He cried but it was happy tears, he spun me in the air, "Hey! I'm still sick!" He puts me down but doesn't let go, "She sees you as a dad now, that means she truly does love you." I said wiping his tears away, "Nothing Is going to hurt my honey and my baby girl, I promise."

The Assistant Part 14
You spent the next morning contacting United Agents to inform them of everything that had happened with Taron the day before. You had been relaying messages to and from the insurance team, the production team and United. Back and forth, back and forth. Sure, yesterday had been an accident; but it had still left their leading man with some nasty injuries meaning it was going to be investigated. You had made it your mission to insist that Taron had a stunt double for the scenes that were on horse back, which thankfully everyone agreed with without hesitation. You weren’t going to let him climb back on a horse, no amount of money was worth his life. As you were completing all your admin for the day, an idea popped into your head. You shut down your laptop, collected your things and left your room.
About an hour later, you knocked on Taron and Emily’s door with your hands full of bags. A moment later Emily opened the door and kindly invited you inside. You placed the bags down on the floor and smiled at Taron who was sat up in bed with his glasses on reading. When he spotted you he placed the book down and took his glasses off his face and smiled back.
“How are you doing today?” You walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge next to him.
“I’m okay. Feeling better than I did yesterday. I’m still in a bit of pain but as a whole I’m doing well. I should be up and running again tomorrow.” It’s true, he did look better than yesterday. Seeing him the way he was yesterday was terrifying. Last night when you had tried to fall sleep the images of Taron flying off the horse kept replaying in your head. It was truly disturbing. It made you realise how much you did care about Taron. Which then made you feel riddled with guilt and anxiety. Being this close to him now made those feelings rise again.
“Are you sure? I don’t want you rushing this! Please take your time, they can start filming around you if they need too. I won’t let you do anything you’re not ready to do.”
“I’m sure.” Taron took your hand with a serious expression on his face, “I promise you, I won’t rush into anything.”
“If you say so.” You smiled. “and I promise to never put you on the back of a horse again. I’ve spoken to the studio and we have arranged for a stunt double to come in and do all horse riding shots for you. We can’t risk putting you in that situation again.”
You could see the relief wash off Taron’s face. “Thank you Megan! I don’t think I could do that again.” It felt like he was staring into your soul. You felt a sudden impulse to pull back and away.
“I’ve got a surprise!” You broke contact with Taron and walked over to the bags you had brought with you. You picked them up and placed them on the bed and invited Emily over to join you. From one of the bags; you pulled out some packets of pre-sliced fruit, multiple packets of crisps, cakes and a bottle of wine.
You held up the bottle and said “I thought if you can’t go to the picnic, the picnic can come to you.”
“Oh wow Megan! I think this is a lovely idea!” Emily gushed and emptied the second bag of food onto the bed.
You opened the bottle of wine and started to pour it into glasses. As you looked up you caught Taron’s eye, blushed and smiled. You handed out the cups and joined the pair who were sat away from each other on the bed. You held up your cup, “Here’s to the start of a wonderful new adventure.” You all raised your cups and took a sip of your wine.
“Thank you for doing this. It’s incredibly kind of you.” Taron said in-between mouthfuls of food.
“Anything for you, Boss.” You teased and took another sip of your wine.
The rest of the ‘picnic’ went down a treat. You all sat around on the bed and talked about absolute nonsense. It felt nice to unwind with friends after the stress from the previous day.
“So, Megan.” Emily said and then finished her mouthful of food. “I’ve decided to head back home Sunday evening. This weekend will be my last here.” You looked up at Emily with furrowed brows.
“Really? Why?” You had thought that she was supposed to stay for the majority of filming. It certainly looked like she had packed that way.
She shrugged and looked down, you could tell something wasn’t right. “We just think it’s for the best.” You watched her look at Taron from across the bed. “Taron’s got a lot going on here and I don’t want to be the one getting in the way.”
You caught eye contact with Taron, he looked at you expressionless. Something’s happened. You thought. You looked back at Emily, then smiled and nodded at her.
“That’s a shame. I’m going to miss having another female around.” You tried to lighten the mood.
Emily looked at you with a sad smile, “Yes. It’s been nice.”
Time seemed to rush past and before you knew it, it was dark outside. You could see Taron was still in some pain so you all said you goodbyes and you went back to your room for the night.
When you went back to your room you checked your phone to see you had a message from James asking for an update. You sat on your bed and typed out a long message informing him of everything that had happened. From the confession from Taron, The Kiss, Ben and the accident. It had been a busy trip and it had only just started.
***
The next day you went downstairs to the breakfast buffet to see Emily and Taron sat in the corner eating. As you entered the restaurant, Emily spotted you and gave you a wave. You quickly approached them.
“Good Morning! Look who’s up! You must be feeling better!” You stood behind Taron and placed your hands on his shoulders.
“I do! I’m ready to get back to it now.” He said as he looked up at you, with a mouth full of food causing you to roll your eyes at him. That boy and food.
“Megan, please come and join us! We have room.” Emily offered.
You thought about the kind offer and nodded. “Sure. Let me grab some food and I’ll be back. Do you want anything?” You offered politely. “Tea for me please.” Emily smiled. You looked at Taron and raised your eyebrows, “and a coffee for me please.” You nodded and went off to collect your items.
You came back over to the table with a tray of drinks and a plate of food for yourself. You placed the drinks down next to each of them and then finally sat down to eat.
“What are your plans for this weekend Megan?” Emily asked as she sipped on her tea.
You shrugged in response, “I haven’t really thought about it. Have you guys got anything planned before you head back home?”
“We were thinking about exploring the city a little Saturday, weren’t we Taron?”
Taron nodded as he finished eating his food. He didn’t look too interested at all. He was far too interested in the last bit of food on his plate.
“Did you want to go shopping with me Sunday afternoon, Megan?” Emily asked. You looked up from your plate and looked between Taron and Emily. Even Taron had looked up and stopped. “You wouldn’t mind T if Megs and I went shopping would you? You’d cope without us for an afternoon wouldn’t you?” Emily nudged Taron.
His eyes flickered into your direction and they narrowed whilst looking at you. “Sure. I don’t mind. That’s if Megan wants too though.”
“I would love too, it would be nice to get some time away from you.” You joked and winked at Taron, who rolled his eyes in response and continued to pick at what was left on his plate.
“Perfect! It’s a plan! It’ll be nice to get some girlie time in before I leave. At least I know whilst I’m gone Taron is left in good hands.” It felt like there was a slight undertone in what she was saying. Something bitter.
Just as you were about to respond, you saw a text come through on your phone. You picked it up and examined the message.
Good morning. I hope things are okay with Taron. If you’re not busy, I’d love to take you out for dinner Saturday night. I know a sweet little place just down the road. I think it’ll be perfect. Ben :)
You smiled to yourself which didn’t go unnoticed.
“Ooo, look at you! What’s made you blush? Do share!” Emily giggled from across the table.
You looked up from your phone and looked at Emily. You felt Taron’s eyes burn into the side of your head. “I think I might have a date tomorrow night.” You blushed and looked down avoiding eye contact with Taron. You noticed Taron tense at your words from across the table. He placed his knife and fork down slightly too loudly causing you and Emily to jump and look at him.
“Who?” He asked, he couldn’t disguise the annoyance in his voice. You looked him in the eye and cautiously said, ‘Ben. From the other night.” Your words struck him. If looks could kill. You thought instantly regretting being so open and honest. He has no right to get mad. You assured yourself.
“Who’s Ben?” Emily asked intrigued.
“He’s the screenwriter.” Taron snapped. His demeanour had completely changed. “I’m in a bit of pain, I’m going to head back up to the room.” Taron snatched the keycard that was sat on the table. Scrapped his chair back and stood up and left. You and Emily watched him leave. You could see the confusion on her face. You felt like you had to cover for him.
“Has he been taking his pain meds? Was he in pain this morning?” You sipped at your tea and continued to pick at your food.
“He didn’t mention it. He hasn’t been right for a while. If I’m honest, things really haven’t been the greatest between us for a while. He doesn’t tell me anything. It’s like he doesn’t want me around anymore. He closed himself off from me a long time ago. We’ve been trying to patch things back up for a few months now which is why I came but I think it’s too late. Anyway, forget about that! Come on, reply to that message and tell me all about Ben! I want to know everything!” Emily gushed.
Her words lingered in your mind whilst typed out a reply agreeing to meet Ben in the lobby the following evening at 7:30. You told Emily all about Ben and about how he was going to take you out to eat. After you finished your food, you and Emily went back to your room. She has insisted on picking an outfit out for your date.
“Right, let’s see what you’ve got! I’m going to make sure you look amazing for this date.” She exclaimed as she opened your wardrobe. You sat on the bed and watched her go through your clothes. She pulled several items out and hung them over her arm, slowly creating a large pile.
“Go and try these on for me please!” She thrust a pile of clothes into you. “I want a fashion show.”
“Fine.” You laughed at her enthusiasm and got up with the heap of clothes and walked into the bathroom to change. You tried on outfit after outfit. Emily was incredibly kind to do this with you but it didn’t make you feel any less guilty. You thought about what she has said over breakfast, Things haven’t been the greatest between us for a while. You wished you could go back in time and replay everything that had happened between you and Taron, but you knew it wasn’t possible. You were just as guilty as him. But you now had Ben. You wanted to see where things with him were going instead of fussing over someone that couldn’t decide between two wonderful women. You looked at yourself in the mirror before walking out of the bathroom in the last option you had.
“Okay, this is the last one from the pile.” You showed her the skin tight red dress which she had picked out.
“No…It’s just not right.” She got up from the bed and went back to the wardrobe. “There must be something else in here.” She rummaged through your clothes before stopping at a dress that had been hidden behind other larger items.
“Yes! This is it! You have to wear this!” You looked down at the blush silk midi slip dress that you had worn when you went out for dinner with Taron back in London. Your eyes darted from the dress back to Emily.
“Really? I’m not so sure. I think this one is fine…”
“Go and try it on!” Emily forced the dress into your hands. You resistantly nodded and walked back into the bathroom to change.
You pulled the red dress off over your head and took the silk dress off its hanger. You slipped it over your head and looked at yourself in the mirror. It brought back memories. Both happy and sad memories. You ran your hands over the dress the same way you had before you went to meet Taron. You were interrupted by Emily knocking on the door.
“Are you ready?”
You took one last glance at yourself in the mirror and opened the bathroom door.
“Oh my god! Yes!” Emily pulled you out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. “Fuck, you look so hot!” Emily exclaims, “Megan you look insane! You have to wear this.”
“I’m not sure, I’ll probably get too cold….”
“Megan it’s perfect. Look how insane you look.” She pulled you over to the mirror. You looked sadly at your reflection. “This is the one, I promise.” She smiled and picked up her belongings. She walked over to you and gave you a hug.
“Right I need to get packing! I want to hear all the gory details when I see you on Sunday! At least one of us is getting some.” She winked at you, waved goodbye and left. You heard the door click behind her. You sat on the edge of the bed and looked down at the dress in despair. Why did she have to pick this one? If only she knew when you had last worn it.

My Dad
A.N.: Pat with all of his kids! That’s kinda it. I hope you like it! Comments and likes are appreciated. (I do not own anything related to the Stargirl tv show or the comics) :D
----
Pat didn’t plan on being a Dad. The superhero gig took up most of his time. He was fine with it too. He knows he’d only get a kid if he had time for one. Sylvester was the one who really wanted kids. Pat was more focused on keeping him alive to see him or her or they grow up. Sylvester was pushy though. Late nights when they were relaxing after patrolling he would day dream about little feet running about.
He finally got his wish years into their superhero routine. Sylvester and Pat had been living together for years. If they could get married, it would’ve been their 4th anniversary, and on that day, they brought home little Mike Pemberton Dugan. They argued for a long time on what his last name should be. In the end they flipped a coin and Dugan won. Life was fine for a few years. Then the ISA got worse. Pat begged Sylvester to not go and fight, but he wouldn’t listen.
“What happens if I don’t show up, Pat?” Sylvester would always ask him. “If I don’t show up, what kind of world would Mikey be subjected to?”
“A world without you,” Pat would always think, but never say. Eventually Sylvester would win the argument, and Pat thought it was the worst choice he ever made. It was a couple weeks before Christmas, Mikey was turning two. He was babling and walking down around the house, elated when Sylvester would come home.
Sylvester and the rest of the gang went out giving Pat specific instructions to watch over the kids. Pat didn’t listen. He found a sitter and paid her good money before rushing out to join them.
He was too late.
He was too late.
He was too late.
It kept running in his head, “He was too late.” The ISA had won and almost all of the JSA had died. Pat didn’t know what to do. How do you tell the little boy waiting at home that his other dad wasn’t ever coming home?
Mikey didn’t take it too well. He became moody and irritable overnight. A small funeral for the deceased JSA members was held a few weeks after their deaths, two days after Christmas. Him and Mikey were on their own after that. Pat tried to date other people, but nothing seemed to stick. Besides, the ISA were still out there so there were other things to worry about than dating.
Then he met Barbra. She was the sweetest, prettiest woman he had ever met. He thought, maybe, it was time to settle down again. Courtney was a slight problem though. She didn’t take too kindly to Pat. He thought maybe he should end things with Barbra, but she promised everything was going to be okay. And it was, Courtney, very slowly, opened up to Pat. Trust was there, and Pat tried so hard to be a good not-dad for her. Then it broke when they had to move.
She wasn’t happy about the move, Pat knew that. He also knew that he wasn’t her biological father, but he wasn’t going to let her get into danger fighting Brainwave. His brain screeched at him to acknowledge that Sylvester had another kid, but he shoved it down. That possibility could be dealt with later. Right now he had to figure out a way to keep his step daughter alive.
Joey Zarik dies and Pat has nightmares that it could’ve been Courtney.
Rick Harris seems like a nice kid. Troubled though, and Courtney figures out that he’s a legacy, Hourman’s kid. Pat was surprised, the kid’s grown up a lot since he last saw him. He decides to give him a gift, a piece of the car that he remembered Rick needing. At his house, something felt off. Rick’s uncle reeked of alcohol and he didn’t seem like the nicest person in the world. Pat didn’t want to say anything yet, he opted to just keep an eye on Rick whenever he could.
He hears that Courtney recruited a bunch of other kids, Rick included, to join the Junior JSA. Pat wonders if he has grey hair yet. He knows he’s going to get an ulcer soon. Sylvester would probably laugh at him. Pat spends most of his time planning on different strategies to keep them safe.
He fails.
He tried so hard to prevent this, but Beth gets injured. They were fighting off Tigress and she was out for blood. Rick picked up Beth and cradled her in his arms. Pat picked them up in his giant robot hand and flew them off. Barbra was waiting for them in the auto shop and immediately went to help Rick with Beth. Pat pointed out where the antidote was then flew back to help Courtney and Yolanda.
Despite the fear in his heart, he couldn’t help but feel pride at watching Courtney and Yolanda fight. They have improved so much, their moves were more precise and graceful. Pat stayed back and only attacked when needed.
They managed to knock Tigris out. Courtney and Yolanda dragged her body over to pat and together all four of them flew back to the auto shop. Barbra was taking Beth’s temperature while Rick clutched Beth’s hand.
Court and Yolanda took Trigis to the basement of the auto shop then put as many heavy objects as they could over the door. Sure it was a fire hazard, but they figured if worst comes to worst, Rick could move all the stuff off the door.
“How is she?” Yolanda asked. Rick was quiet, Pat noticed his usual brooding borderline angry look was replaced by complete sadness. He looked like his world was falling apart. Pat filed that detail away for later.
“She seems to be fine, currently she has a low fever and in a minute I’ll take her to the emergency room so they can monitor her.” Barbra replied clipped and profesional.
“She should be fine, guys. Green Lantern was hit with it once and he survived. I’ll call all your parents and tell them that you’re having a sleepover.” Pat reassured.
“But that doesn’t cover how Beth got poisoned.” Courtney almost yelled. She was pacing around fiddling with her fingers. Rick still hasn’t said anything, his eyes never straying from Beth’s face. Yoland crossed her arms and eyed Pat defensively as if asking, she’s right Mr. Dugan.
“I’ll think of something. For now, all of you get changed out of your uniforms. Take a shower, I’ll talk to your parents. Then we’ll take a trip to the emergency room.” Yolanda and Courtney left to go change while Barbra went to fix up the car so it could take Beth to the emergency room. Rick stayed though.
“Rick, she’s going to be fine. You need to change.”
“It should’ve been me.”
“Rick.”
“If I was just fast enough, then it would be me instead of her injured. It should’ve been me ‘cause now she has a fever and she’s in pain. And I’m not leaving her side, what if she needs me.” Rick swallowed a lump in his throat. “What if something bad happens?” Rick spews out quickly. Tears are threatening to fall now and his grip on Beth’s hand has tighented.
Pat scooted closer to rub Rick’s back in a hopefully soothing manner. “You don’t have to leave her side. I can stand my ground against your uncle. He’s been drinking too much for him to be a problem. Anyways, Beth’s going to be fine, medicine is advanced than it was ten years ago. And, don’t think that way Rick. Self-hatred will get you nowhere. After this we can analyze the fight and see what went wrong and what we can improve up and what we did right. I only need you to leave her side for a moment. You shouldn’t stay in that sweaty costume any longer than necessary.”
“Pat-”
“Now Rick, and don’t punch Tigris in the face quite yet. As is she’s quiet, I don’t want to deal with another thing right now. Beth and calling you parents, but mainly Beth needs my full attention.”
Rick reluctantly left Beth’s side to do as Pat said. He was surprised, he expected more of a fight from Rick. Then he realized that Rick probably left so he could compose himself and ‘shower’ by spraying febreeze on himself.
“The car’s ready for transportation. I called Mike, he’s up and he said he’ll bike over to the hospital but I refused. After dropping off Beth, I’ll pick up Mike. He seems pretty spooked.” Barbra rubbed her hands on Pat’s shoulders.
Pat rubbed his hand over his face. “I’ll bet. You okay honey?” Pat turned around and ran his arms up and down her to try and soothe her.
“Yeah, a little spooked, but she’ll be okay? She’ll be okay.” Barbra said in an effort to reassure herself. “I never thought I’d be this stressed as an adult. They’re doing well for themselves though. Very impressive.”
Pat nodded in agreement. “I should start calling all their guardians.”
“We need to do something about Rick’s uncle,” Barbra commented.
“Yeah, but I want to be careful about it. One wrong move and CPS will send him halfway across the country.”
“You’ll figure it out.” Barbra reassured. The calls went easier than expected. Rick’s uncle didn’t even pick up, and Alex picked up and he seemed fine that his sister was having sleep over. It was the Chapel’s that made him nervous. Her father was on a business trip, but her mom was already at the hospital and she promised to ready a bed for Beth. By the end of the call everyone was ready to go. Pat got into the drivers seat while Courtney, Yolanda, and Rick sat in the back holding Beth to their laps. Barbra made sure it was as safe as possible before climbing into the passenger seat. Pat got them to the hospital in record time. Rick picked Beth up bridal style and carried her into the ER. Mrs. Chapel showed Rick the right way to the emergency room. Barbra kissed her husband on the cheek before going to pick up Mike.
Yolanda and Courtney walked hand in hand into the hospital. Pat was right behind keeping an eye on them. Sue him, his already frayed nerves were completely broken after watching Beth get injured. “How are you girls holding up?”
“Beth- She’s like this bright light. She’s kind and she's positive and she always says the right thing you know? It feels wrong like something is deeply wrong in the universe, you know? It- not her. It never should’ve been her.” Yolanda tells him. Her voice sounds more hollow then usual, but her eyes her entire being radiates anger.
“I get what you mean.” For the thousandth time, Pat wondered if this whole game was worth it. They were kids, amazing kids, but kids nonetheless. At least with the original JSA they were adults. Pat knew they were in too deep, so he just texted Barbra to bring more coats before taking a seat in the waiting room with everyone else. Rick eventually came back, seething somewhat. Pat assumed that he was kicked out the hospital room and just gave him some space.
Barbra came back with blankets and coats and Mike, who looked dead asleep, was carrying a couple trays of drinks from McDonalds. “Mom and I stopped by McDonald’s for drinks. They’re all labeled.” Pat smiled at Mike calling Barbra mom, it was a small thing, but it made him happy. Mike went to everyone before heading back to his father. There was a seat open between Courtney and Pat so Mike took that one.
He, with his big puffy coat, curled into Pat’s side. “Everyone’s ok?”
Pat thought hard before answering Mike, “Well, we’re in the hospital, but we’ll be okay.”
It was a cold and long night. Mike dozed off not long after coming here. No one else could sleep. Horrible, awful, what-if’s ran through their mind. After a while, Rick was coaxed out of his brooding by Barbra. She gave him a blanket and a seat to sit on. No one said anything. Maybe they should’ve, but then a nurse entered the wait room and talking was forgotten in favor of listening to the nurse.
“For Beth Chapel?” Barbra and Rick shot up. Pat couldn’t with Mike and Yolanda and Courtney were half-asleep.
“How is she?” Rick asked.
“She’s going to be fine. Any of that weird substance in her system isn’t putting her in danger and the fever should pass by the night. Her mom is with her now, but soon multiple visits will be allowed.”
A collective exhale was let out around the room. Beth would be fine. Rick smiled. Barbra let out a relieved chuckle and gave Pat a kiss, careful of Mike. Yolanda and Courtney gave a sleepy whoop. They pulled Rick in for an hug that he got trapped in once they fell asleep. Pat felt himself finally relax knowing that they were all safe. He never planned on being a dad, he wouldn’t change his situation for the world.

Mr. Love: Ike’s Choice CH3 PT12 (end of chapter)
Sorry for my tardiness!! 2020′s one heck of a no thanks pal
AS A HEADS UP!!: I have already finished chapter four so there will be another post next Wednesday/Thursday. Now, normally I would do a one shot about Ike before I post the chapter but, because it took me so long to post this one, I won’t keep you guys waiting this time. And, trust me, you don’t want to wait too long for this next post ;P Enjoy the last part of chapter three!!
Warnings: None. Lucien being a fluffy boy. Adrienne being a queen. I guess Ike says the word “hell” if you’re sensitive to that........ oh but the epilogue gets intense. Without spoiling anything, be prepared to hate me for that cliffhanger :D
(Chapter Three (Victor and Lucien) prologue and part one, and parts two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, and eleven here~)
((Please read the author’s note (and the beginning of the story) on chapter one part one if you’re new here :D))
Chapter three:
Part twelve:
I sighed as I leaned on the entryway of the front porch, taking in the fresh autumn air. The neighborhood was nearly completely dark with a few dull street lights and dimly lit houses surrounding the block. I closed my eyes and went over what happened that night in my head.
After our group hug, Bart and Maria apologized profusely for being so distant and rude and promised to keep my thoughts and feelings in mind next time I made that kind of decision. I assured them that I wouldn’t do something like that again, but something in me told me that that was a lie. Sam went on telling everyone that he had trusted me the whole time and that he would never doubt me like they had. Adri praised him but Maria didn't find his words to be all that funny. Chris hadn’t uttered a word the whole time they spoke. Lucien offered to pop the champagne he had brought but I insisted on them having it without me, wanting to get that fresh air I had set out for before. This time, they let me go without question.
Shifting slightly against the creaky wood, I pulled out my phone from my pocket and opened it up. Scrolling through my contacts, I stopped at a particular name.
Victor.
My finger hesitated over the call button. Victor had asked me to call him whenever I had a bad day. Would today count? Should I tell him? Or was he just saying that I could call him to be nice?
The front door opened, quickly snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked up and saw Lucien stepping out of it. He was carrying two champagne glasses full of a bubbly substance. He locked eyes with me and smiled. “May I join you?” He asked sweetly.
“Only if one of those glasses is for me.” I said, standing from the entryway and pocketing my phone. Lucien’s smile widened as he walked out into the cold and towards me. He handed me one of the glasses. “Although you might want to extinguish that fire.” I said nonchalantly as I took a glass.
“Fire?” Lucien asked.
“The one on your pants. You know, from all your lying.” I took a sip of the champagne as I watched Lucien’s face. He was still clearly confused so I continued, “Your cold? That you had gotten from looking for me last night? Yeah, that was a lie. Your eyes aren’t puffy, you don’t sound congested, you’ve only sneezed once tonight and that sneeze was at the dinner table and clearly faked.” My casual expression fell into one of a glare, “You’re a liar. You just wanted to get Maria riled up to pull an answer out of me.” Lucien paused for a moment longer. Then his lips curved into a teasing grin.
“Actually, my intention was to bring the topic up on my own.” Lucien said plainly, “Maria’s input was a pleasant surprise.” My eyebrows furrowed deeper.
“So instead of giving me the chance to have a sincere and honest explanation with you while we were alone, you decided to humiliate me in front of my family?” My words made Lucien drop his grin. I brought my champagne glass to my lips and directed my eyes back to the quiet neighborhood, “Cool. Cool cool cool. Noted.”
“I had no intention to humiliate you.” Lucien said earnestly, tilting his head so he reentered my vision, “I merely had the feeling that they hadn’t heard the truth about that night either. And, from their reactions, I could tell my feeling was correct.” My grip tightened on the glass as I took a long sip of my drink, avoiding Lucien’s eye contact further. Lucien sighed, “I’m sorry you feel humiliated, but don’t you feel better letting yourself go like that? It must have been strenuous to have kept all that to yourself.” I thought for a moment then shook my head.
“That doesn’t matter.” I growled, “That was a scummy thing for you to do. This night was supposed to be about Adri’s arrival. You made me look like a child begging for attention. Screaming for her mother to look at her and only her…” I paused, “... It was pathetic the way I acted. No wonder they-”
“Ike,” Lucien interrupted, “No one belittled you after you left. In fact, the first words Christopher said were, ‘That was strong of her to do.’ He was right. You showed strength in a way that you could never show in a gym. Strength that will stay with those kids for the rest of their lives. I’m sure everyone in that room cares even more for you then they did before... I know I do.” Lucien’s last words finally pulled my eyes away from the neighborhood and into him. They immediately met his eyes, full of gentle adoration. "Anyone who can speak so powerfully like that earns every bit of my respect. But you,” Lucien walked closer to me. I tried to keep the distance but ended up backing myself into the pillar behind me. Lucien closed the distance between us and leaned his arm on the pillar over my head, “You have earned much more than just respect from me.” His voice was lower than before, cutting out every other sound from around us. I could feel his warm breath against my chilled cheeks, making my face burn brightly. Lucien chuckled.
“Is me being this close making you uncomfortable?” Lucien brushed his cold finger tip against my cheek as he looked meaningfully down to me.
“Wh-what do you think?!” I tried to hold the same indifferent tone but the distance that he held between us was nerve racking, sending my thoughts and voice spiraling out of control.
Lucien chuckled again but, instead of pressing the subject further, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, familiar looking bag. “You forgot this when you left yesterday.” Lucien teased, shaking the bag in front of me. I held out my hand and Lucien dropped it into my palm. It was the present he had bought for me at that strange thrift shop. I handed him my glass and pulled at the drawstring of the bag. I turned the bag upside down and a chain swirled onto my palm, only ending as a small charm in the shape of a flying bird topped it off. I eyed the necklace, slightly confused.
Lucien, sensing my confusion, said, “It’s a phoenix. A bird of legend that regenerates from the ashes that its predecessor burned in, becoming strong and young again.”
“I know what a phoenix is.” I arched my eyebrow and looked at Lucien, “Why would you want me to have this?”
“Because, much like the phoenix, I watched you rise from your ashes last night.” Lucien took the necklace from me and placed the glasses on a small table just behind me. Lucien opened the clasp of the necklace and reached around my neck to put it on. His cold fingertips occasionally grazed the back of my neck, causing me to tense and my face to flush.
After a moment of fumbling, Lucien pulled his hands away from me. The charm fell and stopped just below my collarbone. “You set your past aside to spend a night with me.” Lucien continued, “And then tonight, you showed me how strong you could be and let loose the fire you held inside of you."
“But I left you.” I quickly said, snapping my eyes onto his, “I didn’t learn anyth-”
“You can’t expect to completely change yourself in a night, can you?” Lucien softly interrupted my doubts. I looked in his eyes for a moment longer before looking down again. He may have been right, but why did I still feel so wry of him? After that night, after Lucien proved he wasn’t a threat, I should feel more trusting towards him, right? Was there something I was missing?
Lucien leaned closer to my face. I quickly leaned back, hitting my head against the post behind me. Lucien smirked and rubbed the top of my head softly. I tensed my shoulders.
“Don’t pet me like I’m a do-”
“Did you ever figure out what those flowers represent?” Lucien’s soft whisper shut my mouth instantly. I froze. I had completely forgotten about the flowers. Lucien, noticing my change of expression, shook his head slightly. His smirk turned into a soft smile.
Lucien opened his mouth but was interrupted by a creaking from the front door. I quickly whipped my head around and saw Adri standing in the doorway. She looked shocked at first but, slowly, her lips curved into a teasing grin. “Sorry,” Adri mused, “Should I come back later? Or would you like me to show you two to some place a little more... private?” I cleared my throat and I shoved Lucien away, a sharp burn running through my cheeks.
“Though I would love to take you up on that offer,” Lucien laughed playfully, “I’m afraid I must take my leave. I need to pack for my flight.”
“Flight?” I asked, feeling the flush in my cheeks slowly fade, “Where are you going?”
“It’s a business trip.” Lucien assured, centering his attention back onto me. He rested his hand on top of my head, “Don’t worry, I’ll be back before you know it.”
“I’m not worried.” I rolled my eyes and brushed his hand off of my head. Lucien smiled sweetly at me. He looked back to Adri.
“It was a pleasure to see you again, Adrienne.” He said in his usual gentlemanly tone.
“Likewise.” She saluted him casually and leaned against the doorway. Lucien directed his attention back to me. He leaned in close to my face.
“Until we meet again, Evelyn.” He whispered, sending the butterflies in my stomach into a raging fit.
“S-since when did I give you permission to-”
Lucien kissed my cheek, silencing me. Waves of heat filled my body, making it impossible for me to calm myself. I felt a distinct burning rush to my cheeks and heart, catching my breath in the process. I quickly shoved Lucien away from me. "What the hell?!” I growled, glaring at him fiercely.
“Sorry.” He laughed, “I couldn’t help myself.”
“Yeah, well, a warning would have been nice.” I muttered, still struggling to compose myself. Lucien arched an eyebrow.
“Now that you have been warned,” Lucien bent close to my face again, “would you like me to try again?” My eyes widened. I threw my hand onto Lucien’s mouth, stopping him from coming any closer.
“Don’t. you. dare.” I said through my teeth, the blush on my cheek betraying my attempt to be scary. Lucien chuckled and stood up again. He placed his hand on my head and patted it softly.
“Silly girl.” He sighed, “I’ll text you when I land safely, alright?” I opened my mouth to refuse but stopped.
“Fine.” I finally said, folding my arms and locking eyes with him, “Get home safe.” Lucien’s eyes flashed with surprise. Then they relaxed into that all too familiar front of adoration.
“You too.” He smiled warmly, “Goodnight, Evelyn.” Lucien turned and regarded Adri with a nod, who nodded back casually. Then he turned, catching my eyes with a glance before walking off the porch, avoiding the third step, and walking confidently to his car. I watched him leave. Some time had already passed since his kiss but my heart still slightly fluttered.
...
How could I still feel his lips on my cheek..?
“Wow!” Adri approached my side, “Are things normally this chaotic here?”
“Normally someone gets hurt.” I said, casually reaching for the glasses Lucien left behind.
“Well, the night is still young.” Adri chuckled and folded her arms in front of her, “So, you and the Professor, huh?” My hand froze over my glass. Growling, I grabbed both glasses. One by one, I gulped down each glass quickly and skillfully. I sighed as I faced the neighborhood again, taking a seat on the first step of the porch.
“Woah!” Adri giggled, “That bad?”
“You have no idea.” I sighed and closed my eyes, letting the cold air cool my burning face. I heard the floorboards creak as Adri approached and sat next to me.
“Well, I like him.” Adri hummed. We both sat in silence for a moment, drinking in the night and the sounds of the still neighborhood…
“Hey." Adri suddenly said. I hummed my response, "Can we talk about what happened in there? You know, at dinner?” My stomach dropped.
“Sure.” I acknowledged her but kept my eyes closed, “What about it?”
“Well, that was quite an act you put on but, I think we both know it was bull.”
I flung my eyes open and whipped my head to Adri. She kept her gaze towards the neighborhood, a grin slowly forming on her lips.
“Excuse me?” I asked wryly.
“You were buffing!” Adri said simply, turning to me, “You told me in my room that you were an ‘emotionally distant adrenaline hog,’ right?”
“... Yeah?” I said, slowly catching on to what she was implying.
“Well, if that were the case then you would have embraced the mugging. In fact, you would have probably bragged about how you took him down with one punch. Like some sort of anime hero.” I raised my eyebrows slightly. She got me there, "My question is, why lie? What are you trying to hide from Lucien? It can’t be embarrassment.”
“Oh really?” I folded my arms, “And why’s that?”
“Because you had already made an absolute fool of yourself at the table.” There goes no one belittling me about what I said, “So, why then?”
After a moment, I furrowed my brow seriously, “...you want the truth?”
Adri looked me earnestly in the eye, “Yes.”
“I am an evolved human being with superpowers and a target on my back. I think Lucien may be in on the plan to kill me.”
“... Fine! Don’t tell me. But I’m going to just let Maria and Bart know that the whole thing was a lie and they were worried for nothing.” Adri moved to stand.
“Wait.” I grabbed Adri’s coat sleeve, “... I’m just... having trouble with being… normal.” Adri paused, then sat back down again, I continued, “Lucien was the first person I ever went on a date with. I’ve never really opened myself up for anyone before. I… don’t really know who I can trust.” An awkward silence brushed the air.
“... Well,” Adri dumped my arm playfully, “You can trust me!” I turned to look at Adri again. She was smiling confidently at me. I sighed and smiled softly back.
“I know.” I said happily, “What you did for me in there was really sweet. What with you making up a story and all.”
“Oh I didn’t make up anything!” Adri’s smile widened, “That whole thing about my friend getting her tongue stuck on a pole was true! It’s actually one of my favorite stories to tell!... if you wanna hear it that is.” I shrugged and turned to face her, leaning back against the pole and folding my arms. I waved for her to start talking. Adri beamed and turned to face me better as well. “The day was August eighteenth!” She began, wiggling her fingers in the air to prepare the scene. I listened to her carefully, enjoying the time we spent as sisters as that beautiful autumn evening came to a close.
Epilogue:
The weekend passed swiftly and, before I knew it, I was walking into my office once again. I had my eyes glued to my phone as I pushed open my door, paying no mind to what could have been behind it. A sweet, flowery fragrance graced my face, making me halt in my steps. I looked up and found a beautiful vase of flowers sitting predominantly in the middle of my desk. Startled, I walked over to them. “Minor?” I called out of my office, “Where did these flowers come from?” Minor poked his head in the door.
“Dunno!” He said, walking in briskly, “The delivery guy just told me they were for you.” I hummed, only half listening to what he had said. My attention was more focused on the most prominent part of the bouquet.
The blue hyacinth.
My fingers brushed the particular flower. My slowly eyes fell on a small, azure blue note sticking out from in between the flowers. I pulled it out and read it.
“The blue hyacinth represents fidelity and loyalty from the person giving the flowers. You can rely on me for any and all things.
“I promise you will never have to be alone again.”
“Lucien.” I whispered the donor’s name, a soft smile growing on my face. Minor looked at me, curiously.
“Who’s Lucien?” He pried. I dropped my smile and looked up at him. My eyes fell on his empty hands.
“Where’s my coffee?” Returning my voice to the same tactless tone as before, “It’s eight o’clock.”
“O-on your desk, of course!” Minor stammered, gesturing to my desk, “I would never forget such a thing!”
“Then why are you still here?” My tone dripped with disapproval as I arched my brow. Minor nodded quickly and left the room as quick as he entered, leaving me alone with the flowers. I returned my attention to the card in my hand, giving it one last look of fondness. Then I cleared my throat, putting the note carefully back in the vase, and started my day.
>>>
I had finally gotten back in the groove of working when Minor approached my desk and placed a mug in front of me. I looked at it skeptically. “What’s this?” I asked, gesturing to the mug with the pen in my hand.
“It’s green tea!” Minor responded cheerily, “It’s supposed to help heal sprained ankles!”
“You mean the sprained ankle I recovered from a week ago?” I asked, pushing the mug away with my pen, “I’ve still got my coffee. I don’t need this. Take it away.”
“I know, it’s just...” Minor shifted slightly in his shoes, “... Gavin asked me to make sure I helped you with your recovery in any way I can. And since he is being released from the hospital today, I figured I would try something a little extra! I want to make sure you and Gavin are at your best when you finally go ou-”
“Is Gavin your boss?”
“... No?”
“Then I don’t see why you are taking orders from him and not me.” I eyed Minor dangerously, “Get this away from me.
“Now.”
“Y-yes, mam!” Minor bowed apologetically and snatched the green tea from my desk. He left the room with haste, carefully trying not to spill contents of the mug in his hands. I rolled my eyes.
Gavin had been persistent that my well being was taken care of while he was at the hospital. Luckily I had worked Minor hard enough that, most of the time, he forgot about it. Things tended to slip through sometimes though.
It was going to be nice to have it all behind us now that Gavin was getting out of the hospital. It was also going to be nice seeing him up and walking again. And out of those stupid hospital garments and back in his jean jacket…
That I had soaked and ruined with the smell of rotting fish.
I quickly scribbled a note about getting Gavin a new one when my phone rang.
“Speaking.” I demanded, answering so quick that I didn’t see the caller id.
“Woah! Is that any way to address your sidekick?”
My heart stopped.
Kiro.
Kiro had called me.
Stay cool, Ike. Stay cool.
“S-sorry!” I stammered, blushing slightly, “I didn’t see the caller id!”
“A likely story!” Kiro’s smirk played through his words, “So, the great Super Stranger is a business woman!”
My heart froze. “H-how did you...?”
“You answered the phone so professionally!” Kiro chuckled happily, “Business woman by day, hero by night! I’m writing that down in my notes!”
“Notes?” I asked slowly, “Notes for what exactly?”
“To guess who you are of course!! What else?!”
“Right.” I nervously cleared my throat, “So, why did you call me? Just to get more hints about who I am?”
“No, Silly!” Kiro’s laughed, easing my nerves slightly, “Savin just told me the good news! Your friend got the funding for the show! Congrats!!”
“Yeah.” The smile I had been trying to hold back finally released itself, “W-... they are starting filming in two weeks. Thank you, Kiro. They couldn’t have done it without you.”
“Hey, don’t call me Kiro!” Kiro pouted, “Call me by my hero name! Have you had time to think about it yet?” My stomach dropped.
“Actually, I have.” I cleared my throat and drummed my pen on my table. Nervous butterflies found their way back into my stomach, “I’m thinking something along the lines of-”
The sound of broken glass erupted from behind me, cutting me off. I covered my head and braced for contact.
When nothing came, I looked behind me. My window had been broken. The broken glass that still clung to the windowsill showed a strange shape, as if something had been thrown through it.
“Super Stranger? Are you ok?” Kiro’s worried voice snapped me back to attention, “What happened?”
“I’m... fine.” I slowly said, looking around, “Someone just... smashed my window. But how? We are on the second highest flo-”
My stomach dropped to my feet.
There, just beyond some glass fragments, was a black mask. On its forehead, sat a large, glistening, green scarab.
My breathing quickened as I stood briskly from my chair. It was exactly as Hickman had described it. Black mask and green scarab. There was no mistaking that it was the same thing.
Except it’s eyes were blinking.
Blinking with an all too familiar red light.
I dropped my phone.
This can’t be happening. My thoughts spiraled like they did at the warehouse, Not again. I can’t lose anyone else. Not like I lost Gavin. I looked around the room quickly trying to find a way out of it all. My eyes landed on my desk. I knew exactly what to do.

Wave 3 Operetta Diary
July the Twenty-fifth
Hey Fynn! I’m going to keep a diary. I’ll send it to you when school starts and you can read about my adventures...if I have any. I sure wish you’d join the modern monster world and get yourself a computer or at least an iCoffin so we could exchange email or texts. Having to send everything by ghost post seems like it takes forever, not that we don’t have it, but you get my drift. Anyway, the morning after the going away party y’all threw for us - which was clean outta fright - we caught a scream boat and headed up river to the “home of the boos”. I talked daddy and mama into lettin’ me go see the ghost of “you know who”. Daddy kinda rolled his eyes and said okay - betcha if it was a bunch of them old opera harpies all wearing helmets with horns sticking out he’d a jumped up and clicked his heels. At least he didn’t say no and I could smell the fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches before I got there. Turns out there was a jam session and I hadn’t seen that many singers and players gathered in one spot since the day the music died. They even let me sit in with them on a set. I had to promise not to sing though. Must’ve heard what happened down in Terrorbone Parish I reckon. During the jam I used that new lick you taught me and even that big ol’ werewolf guitar player you like so much howled and said, “Oh Red, I’m gonna be singing the blues if you don’t teach me that.” I told him I could show him but I couldn’t teach him. For that he needed to come find you. I was sad to leave but daddy wanted to head east so he could go check out some old opera house that was supposed to be grand. Turns out I enjoyed it more that he did since they weren’t exactly performing the kind of music he expected :)
July the Twenty-seventh
How did we get to the new opera house? Well there’s this underground train that somehow connects to the catacombs below Monster High. That’s where the opera house is, not in Monster High but under it. I actually met a group of ghouls from Monster High at one of the stations while we were waiting to change trains. They were all on the MH Fear Squad and were headed to some kind of competition or training or something. I didn’t really understand it all but they all seemed very nice although the captain of the team was a bit high and mighty for my taste. Got to go now, sorry so short.
August the First
We have mostly settled in although we still got some unpacking left to do. My guitars all made the trip just fine too. I was worried but I guess I shouldn’t have been. Those cases you gave me protected everything just like you said they would. The opera house is in pretty ghoul shape although there hasn’t been a production done here in many years. I reckon that’s why we’re here, well at least why daddy and mama are here. It’s a whole bunch different from the riverboat opera house though. This one has a big ole pipe organ that sounds like a whole fleet of riverboats coming down the “big muddy”. Of course the first thing daddy did was hop on that thing and play Toccata and Fugue in D minor...who didn’t see that coming? Later on I lugged my amp out to the middle of stage, plugged her in and played a little riff that lasted long enough for daddy to come running in and tell me to stop polluting his opera house with “that noise”. Whatever. I didn’t feel like arguing although I did finally quote that thing you quoted to me - “There’s only two kinds of music. Good music and the other kind.” To which daddy said, “Yes and I would have you play the other kind somewhere else.” Reckon I should have seen that coming too. I’m sure in no time though daddy will have this place snoring with “good music”. ;p
August the Seventh
I explored the catacombs a little more today. A ghoul could seriously get lost down there if she wasn’t paying attention. It’s like there’s a passages that go every which a way. Some just dead end and others seem like they go on forever. Some of the things I discovered are:
- An underground lake with a big island in the middle that has an old castle on it
- A passage that leads from the zombie side of town straight up to Monster High
- Lots of rooms and halls blocked by doors that you need some kind of key to get past.
I also found, or I guess I should say Memphis found, my new practice room/recording studio! I would have totally missed it because it just looked like a crack in the wall to me but Memphis must have sensed something though ‘cause he shimmied through that crack quick as a gnat’s sneeze. Before I knew it, a section of what had just looked like part of the catacombs wall swung open like a door and there was Memphis hanging upside down by a thread with a big fly-eatin’ grin on his face. The walls inside were covered by some kind of moss, not like the stuff that hangs off the cypress trees back home, but more like a soft carpet and it lights up! How creepy sweet is that? I have no idea what the room was originally used for but there are power outlets on one wall and a big table in the middle. Memphis and me brought all our equipment down here, cranked everything up and just went to town! You want to know what the best part is? When the door is shut you can be standing with you ear pressed right up against it and still not hear what’s going on inside. I don’t think I’ve ever had a place where I could play and sing without worrying about who might be listening. Maybe moving here won’t be so bad after all.
August the Eighteenth
Yes I have gotten out of the catacombs and my new recording studio to check out the town although I probably wouldn’t have left if I hadn’t needed to get some new strings. I ended up at the Maul - they’ve got a pretty good music store and some shops where I might actually find some clothes I like but you know me - I spent most of my time in the music store. They have a scary slick selection of guitars - nothin’ like you’ve made for me of course but I played a few anyway cause they just looked so sad hanging up there on the wall all by their lonesome. I was just kinda picking a little bit when I got the feeling some monster was watching me. I turned around and sure enough there was this little frizzy haired werewolf staring at me. Now you’d be proud of me cause you know normally I don’t like being interrupted when I’m playing but there was just somethin’ about her that made me call her over. I asked, “Ain’t you never seen a monster play guitar before?”
“Not like you,” she said.
“Good answer ghoul friend.” Her name was Howleen and after I played some more she asked if I would teach her. I put the guitar back on its stand and looked at her for a minute. “Why do you want to learn to play guitar?” She sorta shrugged a little and said, “I guess because no other monster I know plays guitar.” I shook my head and told her that from the time I was a little ghoul all I’ve ever wanted to do was play and sing. “If I’m not actually playing or practicing I’m thinking about playing or practicing and if you took lessons from me I’d expect you to be the same way.” I knew she wasn’t ready for that. I did show her a few chords though and she actually caught on scary quick. She’s got long fingers and good ears. I told her that she ought to sign up for lessons with one of the music store’s guitar creatures and when she had learned everything they had to teach her to come and see me. She screamed all right with that and the music store even threw me in a set of free strings for getting Howleen to sign up with one of their instructors. Who knows, maybe she’ll end up loving to play as much as I do...hey...I said maybe didn’t I?
August the Twenty-fifth
Monster High ain’t like our one room ghoul house back on the delta. I got a chance to really check it out today after Headless Headmistress Bloodgood sent daddy and mama a note asking if they would send me up to see her. So I made my way up from the opera house to her office and introduced myself. She seemed very prim and proper and I was wondering how long it’d be before I’d have a special seat with my name on it outside her office. She told me shad had just been going through my records from the school back home and that she was pleased to have me as a student at Monster High. She also said, “I will expect excellence from you and neither shoddy work nor laziness will be tolerated or rewarded.” I said I reckon I expected the same from myself as long as she didn’t expect me to be the same kind of formal phantoms as my daddy and mama or to back down every time some monster said “boo” to me cause that ain’t who I am! I sat back and crossed my arms cause I expected she was going to give me a lecture on rules and manners and obligations to our monter legacy but instead she just kinda leaned forward a little, put her head in her hands and said, “I understand your father’s performances have been known to bring down the house, but I’ll expect you to blow the roof off this sucker.” Right then and there you could have knocked me over with skeeter’s wing. Monster High may turn out to be a place where every monster has to play off the same sheet music.
August the Thirty-first
Hey Fynn! There was a dandy meteor shower last night. I took that cypress body acoustic you made for me and went down to the beach. I pretended that they sky was a sheet of music and each shooting star that fell was a single note. I played until my fingers gave out and then I just sat back and enjoyed the show. I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to keep up with my diary once school starts but I want you to know that even if I’m not glad all over I think I’m going to like it here just fine.

The Baby Project || M.YG || 10

Genre : Fluff
Summary : What happens when you and Yoongi are supposed to take care of a baby for a month?

@joyful-jimin
It's been a few days since Jaehyuk has arrived and he hasn't really been anything like what your teacher told you, tough he was a little disrespectful at times. (Yoongi explained to you that that's normal for adoptable kids because they don't get as much attention as kids who grow up with their parents.)
The only thing you found a problem was that he had little to no clothing, which was why you, Yoongi, Areum and Taehyung would go on a shopping spree with both kids today, because apparently their kid had only a little amount of clothing too. You also asked Seokjin and Mina if they wanted to come too, but they weren't up fro it as they 'didn't have the money' for it, which was weird because you still got around 400,- a month, which easily covered most of their stuff they need, meaning you had money over to buy them stuff.
" Morning, what are you cooking?" Yoongi asked as you were making waffles, wrapping an arm around your waist loosely and leaning a little into you.
Ever since he opened up to you, he became more touchy. You didn't mind it, quite the opposite actually, you loved it.
" Waffles, apparently Jaehyuk has never eaten those before so I tough I'd make all of us some while I'm at it." You said as you took them out of the waffle machine.
" They smell nice." He nodded before going to set the table.
" Thanks." You smiled as you started on new ones.
" What's that smell?" You heard the padding of little feet.
" I'm making waffles." You said as Jaehyuk now stood beside you, trying to see how you make them.
" Oh, really?! What do they look like? I've never seen them outside of a picture!" He jumped in excitement.
Yoongi, wo was listening to the conversation, moved to pick Jaehyuk up, holding him the way you taught him to.
You smiled at the sight.
" Ooh, they look nice. Can I have one?" Jaehyuk asked.
" Of course. Go sit down and Yoongi will bring you one." You told him as Yoongi set him down.
" Aren't you going to eat?" Jaehyuk asked Yoongi had brought him his food, noticing that you and Yoongi weren't sitting down yet.
" No, Y/N is going to finish making the last few and I'll wait till' she's done." Yoongi said as he ruffled your hair while mentioning you.
" Yah! Don't do that!" You huffed as you smacked Yoongi's hand away, hearing Jaehyuk giggle at the scene in front of him.
" I'll wait for you too if hyung is also waiting! Family eats together right?" Jaehyuk asked as he hopped off his stool.
Yoongi and you blinked at each other before smiling.
" Yes we do."
-
" Are we gonna do anything today?" Jaehyuk asked as you were all almost done with breakfast.
You nodded while Yoongi shook his head.
" Yes, we're going on a shopping trip with a few friends of ours." You said, pointedly starting at Yoongi.
" We are?" Yoongi asked confused.
" Did you forget?" You facepalmed.
" No, of course not." He lied as he moved to pick up everyone's plates.
You facepalmed.
Of course he'd forget.
-
" Oh my, you're so cutee!" Areum gushed as she looked at Jaehyuk.
" Awee, she's too!" You gushed over Hyeon, her child.
" So where off first?" Yoongi asked, just wanting to get out of the mall.
" How about the Gucci store? " Taehyung suggests, a bright smile on his face.
" Tae, that's a nice idea, but I'd like to remind you that we are broke college students." Areum stated.
" Oh right." Taehyung's smile fell.
" How about we go to the Primark?" You suggested.
You all ended up agreeing to that idea.
The rest of the afternoon went smooth, Hyeon and Jaehyuk ended up becoming good friends, playing around in the stores between picking out clothes. When it was time to eat, you all had different ideas.
" But the noodle bar around the corner?" You pouted as everyone said no.
" If you want ramyeon that badly, I can make you some later tonight or tomorrow, we don't need to go to the noodle bar for that." Yoongi huffed, obviously not in the mood for that.
The little argument went on for a little longer, until you felt Jaehyuk tug at your cardigan.
" Can we go to the MacDonald's noona?" He asked, big eyes twinkling.
" Yes! Can we go to MacDonald's? I've only went there once before but it was so tasty there! Can we go there please?" Hyeon asked, tugging at Taehyung's jacket.
You, Areum, Taehyung and Yoongi switched looks.
" Have you ever been there before?" Yoongi asked Jaehyuk as he picked him up.
Jaehyuk shook his head.
" No, but I've heard from miss Kim that it's very nice there. She said we never went there because we're bad kids. But we've been good today right?" He asked, a glint of hope in his eyes.
You nodded.
" Of course you've been good. Both of you. What do you think Areum noona, shall we eat at Mackey D's today?" You smiled at her as she put a finger on her chin as if she was thinking.
" Hmmm, I think that they've been good today. Let's go." She smiled.
Jaehyuk and Hyeon cheered, and Yoongi let Jaehyuk down so he could run hand in hand with Hyeon, sprinting off towards the Mackey D's sign.
" Don't run too far out of our sight Hyuk! You too Hyeon!" You called after the two kids.
" Yes mu- noona!" Hyuk replied, slowing their pass.
" Don't worry mum, they won't dissapear out of our sight that easily. Besides, I told you that'd we'd be good parents right?" Yoongi winked at you, grabbing your hand.
-
" He almost called you mum." Yoongi said later in the night once Jaehyuk was fast asleep on your lap.
The little boy wanted to watch Night at The Museum, but fell asleep halfway trough.
" I know, is that a good thing?" You asked, momentarily stopping your hand's movements in Hyuk's hair.
" Yes, and no. It's good because it means that you give him the love he deserves, but it also means that he's getting attached to you, which can be a little difficult in our situation." Yoongi said, softly smiling at Hyuk.
" Don't worry, we'll figure that out later...... By the way, Hyuk said something about being told that he was a bad kid, don't you think that something weird is going on there?" You asked.
Yoongi frowned.
" What makes you think that?" He asked you.
" I don't know, aren't the kids supposed to be at least a little loved there?" You asked.
Yoongi shook his head and shrugged.
" It happens more than you think in adoption houses. The one I'm from was build like that too." Yoongi said, a sad expression in his eyes as he glanced at Hyuk again, who was subconsciously looking for the comfort of your hand.
You nodded, absent mindedly playing with Hyuk's hair again.
" Hey, don't worry. At least we manage to give him the feeling for two months like he's got an actual family." Yoongi told you.
[ A/N: Because of the corona holiday I'm trying to upload this weekly, no promises tho. Also ( a shameless self promotion) I've put another story online! It's about Jin and a whole load of drama lol, considering you all prob have nothing to do, go check it out.]

imagine the movie Wild Child, but Silena Beauregard as Poppy Moore...
silena beauregard was born and raised in Malibu, CA. she lived with her mom, dad, and little sister until her mom died when she nine years old in a car crash. before the crash, silena was quirky, respectful, sometimes even quiet. but after the crash, she was like a totally different person. as soon as she hit middle school, she became a party-girl, and her nights weren't complete without drinking, dancing, or trashing somebody's house. of course, it also didn't help that her dad owned a million-dollar chocolate company and was rarely home
the last week of the summer before her sophomore year, silena's dad announced that his new girlfriend was going to move in with them. naturally, silena reacted with nothing short of a large ball of rage. when the moving trucks arrived, they were greeted by more than 100 teenagers that silena had invited over to take, trash, and torch all of her father's girlfriend's belongings
as if this wasn't enough, silena herself wanted to participate. silena scooped up a handful of clothes and started running full speed to the pool in her backyard. instead of jumping in the pool like everybody assumed she would, silena didn't stop running, but instead ran behind the pool to where the cliff looked down into the ocean, and dived in
right as she came up from the ocean, her dad arrived, and he immediately started kicking everybody out
flashforward to dinner that night, silena's dad tells her that she's going to boarding school.
in new york. and not the city new york, no, the countryside new york.
after dinner, silena stormed to her room. her younger sister, Lacy, came into her room and spent the night. they didn't get any sleep, though, but instead talked about their mom. "i've already lost her. i can't lose you too, S."
the next day, silena began packing. her friend, Kelly, helped her while lacy sat on the bed, talking about new york. "What if your school is like in Gossip Girl? That'd be awesome!" when lacy stepped out, silena and kelly looked at the school's website. the school showed a lacrosse field, outside dining pavillion, horse stables, a lake, and dorms. "could be uglier, I guess." kelly left, promising to call silena every night
the next day, silena and her father left early so silena could see the campus before classes started, and they drove all the way from california to new york; "S, it's like a roadtrip! Fun, right?"
it took them about two days to get there, and when silena and her dad finally get to the campus, it's two hours till dinner. as soon as she stepped out of the car, silena was met by the school's dean, Professor D. who introduced her to the school's head girl, Drew, and her friends
silena immediately takes an instant disliking to Drew, which is only increased when drew looks at silena's phone case. "'Pink is powerful?' Ha! Pink is weak- like you, I'm assuming." when drew tried to take silena's hand to shake, silena pulled it back roughly. of course, drew was taken aback. "You shake the head girl's hand out of respect." she yanked silena's hand
silena pulled it back. "When the head girl has earned my respect, then I'll shake her hand..
Biotch."
after drew and her posse stormed off, silena was introduced to Clarisse, her "big sister." while clarisse was nicer than drew, you could tell she didn't like silena either. all silena wanted to do was go home.
clarisse told silena to get any bags she needed and follow her to their room. when they got there, silena was introduced to her other roomates; Katie, Thalia, and Annabeth, though everybody just called Annabeth "Wise Girl"
when she got to the room, silena found out that technically she wasn't allowed to have her phone, except for sundays, and during the week it would be with her dorm's RA
silena hated this. this rule. this school. this whole thing.
two weeks pass, and silena wasn't any closer to liking this school, but also not any closer to finding a way out of it, either. her and her roomates barely talked, and when they did, it was snarky remarks or arguments
one night, silena ended up sneaking out after lights-out. she went to the school's computer room and logged into her email to write to kelly. after she wrote and sent the email, silena looked for the log out button so she could get back before anybody realized she'd left. right before she was about to log out, she saw somebody else sneaking around, just out of the doorway
it was annabeth.
silena left the computer to investigate. she walked out of the comouter room on her tippy-toes, looking this way and that for signs of anybody else. a thought popped into her mind, maybe she's meeting a guy, but as soon as that thought came, it was gone. silena creeped behind her and saw annabeth walk into a doorway. silena waited, counted to ten, then followed and peaked inside the room. it was the school's library. ugh, lame. silena left and started heading back to her room
when she was on the second floor on the way to the third, a fire alarm went off. scared of getting caught sneaking around during lights-out, silena hopped out a window and onto the fire escape. she walked on the fire escape until she got to an apparently empty bathroom. she hopped through its window
when she gets into the bathroom, she realizes it's actualky occupied. a voice calls out from her from behind the shower curtain. "may I help you?" it was a man's voice. holy hell, i've walked into one of my teachers taking a bath! "Uh maybe. I'm Silena Beauregard, sophomore, room 308. How do I get out of here? without getting caught, I mean." the faceless voice gave her directions and she ended up getting out without getting in trouble
a couple days later, silena is in pe class when she gets in a fight with drew. it starts out with a witty comment from silena, as it always does, but then drew threw the first punch. soon, both girls were rolling around on the ground, equally pulling hair and punches. "Silena Beauregard from 308?" it was the voice. silena looked up, but instead of coming face to face with a professor, it was a boy. a boy her age. "Charles! Hey, Charles! Hi, how are you?" Drew was quickly on her feet, rushing to shake his hand.
"Uh, well. Goodbye, now." Charles left, and silena found out that his full name was Charles Beckendorf, and he was the Dean's nephew. "How do you know him, fresh meat?"
"Aww, are you mad because you have a crush on him, old meat?" Drew's friends had to drag her away before another fight ensued
as she walked to her dorm from pe, a bucket of sewer water was dumped on silena's head, courtesy of one of drew's minions from seventh grade. silena wasn't alone, though, and turned around to see clarisse. clarisse laughed for several seconds before composing herself. "Okay, let's say we get yourself cleaned up, alright?"
after they had cleaned back up at the dorms, clarisse handed silena her phone. "We gave Mr. Brunner decoys; some old flip-phones. Go ahead and call your friend if you'd like."
silena calls Kelly but it goes to voicemail, and she texts her a simple "imy girly <3" instead
when all the girls are in the room, silena opened up about her mother's death and how hard it was at this new school. partly because they liked her, and partly because they felt bad for her, they all agreed to help Silena get expelled from school.
over the course of several weeks, the girls pulled a series of pranks; dying the lake blood-red, re-recording over Mr. Underwood's lectures, etc. they never got in trouble though, and the only thing the pranks were successful in doing was bringing the girls closer, though they didn't know it
after she realized their pranks weren't working, clarisse suggested a different approach: silena would seduce charles, and the dean would be so mad that he'd expel her immediately
their plan was put into motion at the school dance a week later. the girls were allowed off campus, and they went shopping for dresses in NYC. while they were shopping, clarisse suggested they all get their hair done. Silena went along with them, then even ended up swapping her platinum blonde curls for her natural raven-black waves. when the hair stylist was done, she realized with a shock that she looked exactly like her mother. she liked it
the girls showed up twenty-five minutes late to the dance, per silena's suggestion to be fashionably late. they were by far the most dressed up and stylish there, also due to silena's large interest in fashion and design
when they got there, charles was standing in a corner, awkwardly talking with drew
"Hey, Charlie, wanna dance?"
They danced, though it was more like Silena danced and Charles just standed there and watched. "Nobody ever calls me Charlie, y'know. It's either Charles or Beckendorf. I like when you call me Charlie."
in the middle of dancing, Silena tried some new move she had seen on one of her shows, but she tripped and fell on her head. charlie picked her up and took her outside to sit down. when she assured him that she was okay, charlie just started looking at silena instead. he leaned down to kiss her but they were interrupted by drew's followers
just as she was leaving, charlie asked silena on a date
the next day at school, silena was called into Professor D's office. he scolded her for not only for behaviour but also the fact that she had brought alcoholic beverages on to the school campus. silena sat silent through the whole stretch of this talk, waiting patiently for Pr. D to finish up and expel her. instead, her punishment was joining the girls' lacrosse team
after a good two weeks of lacrosse, silena had started to like it. she found out her mom not only went to the school when she was young, but also was the team captain to lead them to nationals, and silena was determined to do the same. somewhere along the way, she found herself actually falling in love with the sport. and something somebody else.
silena and charlie's first date was the day after her talk in the dean's office. charloe took her off campus to an underground bunker. silena was surprised to see that while it was a little packed, it was very neat and fresh-looking. "welcome to bunker 9." they had a picnic then went on a drive. the date ended with a kiss that made silena feel as if she was floating
when she got back to her room, she found Clarisse, Thalia, Katie, and Annabeth crowded around the computer. "What're you reading?" the girls turned around, faces mad and hurt at the same time. "Your email."
when she looked at a screen, silena saw an email from her account, though she hadn't sent one. it went on for more than a hundred words, with the summary being that she was only pretending to be their friend so they'd help her get expelled
silena checked her account to see that a similar email was written to charlie. both charlie and her roomates shut her out and refused to talk to her
upset and alone, silena decided to call kelly. when she did, she found out that kelly had been sneaking around with Silena's on-and-off-again boyfriend, Luke, since the first week of them dating in eighth grade. silena deleted both their numbers. she sat there, feeling almost as alone as she had when her mom died
poppy was in the common room after lights-out when she really started to feel depressed. absentmindedly, she started playing with her lighter. the flame accidentally touched the curtain and scorched the corner. though she put it out before anything else happened, silena was so spooked that she decided to retire to her room. as she walked, she heard footsteps, and her slow pace turned to a fast sprint
a few minutes later as she laid awake in bed, silena turned her head to see that outside of her window the common room was on fire. silena got up, started yelling, and slammed down the fire alarm to wake everybody up
once everybody was evacuated, the teachers started doing head-counts. silena and her roomates quickly realized that one of their own was missing. "ANNABETH!" silena pushed past the crowds, ran past the firemen, and made her way to the library. when she got there, she saw Annabeth trapped behind a fallen bookcase. silena, dizzy and bleary-eyed, led annabeth until they reached the kitchen, and the firemen carried out the collapsing girls.
after the fire was successfully put out, charlie pulled silena aside. when she tried to talk about the email, he only shoved her lighter into her hands. "I believe this is yours." he refused to listen to her explain and walked away, fully believing that she was the one who started the fire
the next day, silena sat in the dean's office awaiting his decision. ironically and cruelly, she found herself wishing not to be expelled. though she held off for a while, she started crying. she couldn't tell if the tears were because of the fire, or her friends, or even her mom, but whatever the cause they didn't stop. until somebody called her name. "Silena"
silena looked up to see charlie staring her right in the face. "I believe you. It was an accident, wasn't it? Tell me everything."
later that day, silena was set to attend a hearing concerning her future at the school. at the hearing, she told her side of the story, starting from when she first got to the school, and her roomates realized she didn't send the emails
they quickly left the hearing, and silena was convinced they hated her
they returned after several minutes of investigative research and took the stand in favor of silena. they defended her against drew and debated back and forth until drew let it accidentally slide that she had saw silena put the fire out, then started it back up herself again
of course, the case was immediately resolved, and silena was cleared while drew was expelled
silena spent the next weeks preparing her team for their nationals game. when the gameday came, silena was surprised to find her dad in the crowd with the rest of the parents. mr. beauregard was equally surprised to see silena's new natural, happy appearance
silena and the rest of the team ended up winning their nationals game by a landslide, and afterward they had a party at the beach by camp
silena ended the schoolyear completely different from when she arrived. she was now officially dating charlie, her team was staying with her for three weeks in the summer, she learned more about her mother and became closer with dad, and she was finally, truly happy.

meeting the family | t.h.
Can we get a head connon with meeting Toms family? Please love and I love your writings - requested by @tomholland64
oh my gosh, i love this! and thank you so much ♡ i had to repost bc my tags didn’t work the first time, sorry!
When Tom first brought up meeting his family, you were taking a walk in the park with Tessa
You were like afgjndf okay??
Because you were freaking out, who wouldn’t be?
You loved Tom, and meeting the family was a big deal because Tom was super close to them
Somehow you managed to go “yeah that’d be nice” and then afterward proceeded to go into panic mode
Tom found it cute, that you were so nervous because it meant that you really wanted them to like you
You kept asking him about everyone so you could make conversation and not sound like an idiot
“So Harry likes photography? Okay, I need to research famous photographers and camera types.”
“Sam likes cooking right? Lol then how come you suck at it, Tommy?”
*Tom stares off into the distance like he’s on the Office*
“Does Paddy like legos or is he too old for that? I bet he likes Star Wars though”
You took notes on everything Tom told you, and then did your own research because Tom was pretty useless
“Love, even I don’t know this much about my family, how did you find this stuff out?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy?”
Tom couldn’t stop laughing when you made him take you golfing so you wouldn’t look bad in front of Dom (you know, just in case), and you kept missing the ball completely
But he took you for ice cream after so it was all good
Then D-day came and you were running around like a headless chicken, trying to appear calm and composed
Tom had been ready ages ago, and now he was just watching you race around with a stupid smirk on his face
“Oh my god, I can’t wear this! What was I thinking?”
Your shared bedroom was a mess, clothes everywhere and jewelry strewn on the bed
Tom made a joke about an atomic bomb so you threw him out, you didn’t need that type of negativity right now
“But I live here too!”
“Try me, and you won’t for much longer bug boy”
Eventually you picked something that you felt good about and did your makeup
When you heard a little bark, you realized Tessa had been buried under a pile of clothes and had chewed up one of your dresses
But you just couldn’t stay mad at her so you ended up smothering her in kisses instead
“Can we go now?” Tom whined because he’s a literal five year old you and can’t argue this point with me
You finally emerged in a blush pink floral tea dress and the least annoying pair of heels you owned, giving him a tiny spin
“Does this look like I didn’t try too hard but also that I tried really hard?”
“What does that even mean?”
“Like I put thought into it but I’m also super chill, because that’s the vibe I’m going for here”
“You look hot, maybe I can cancel and we can just stay here and…you know…”
At this point you throw your clutch at him and he peppers your face with kisses because you guys are adorable™
So now you’re driving to Tom’s house, your heart beating so loudly you can hear it
Tom is playing some CD he bought while the two of you went record shopping and he keeps one hand on your thigh protectively
What, you looked really gorgeous? He could never keep his hands off you.
He kept telling you that you looked beautiful and had nothing to worry about, but did he expect you to believe him?
Meeting your boyfriend’s family is nerve-wracking, according to like every romcom ever
The drive was way too short in your opinion, and you literally refused to get out of the car for a few minutes
“Darling, you have to actually get out to meet them. I don’t think they’ll fit in here.”
“Tom, I can’t do this. They’re going to hate me and break us up like in Monster-In-Law!”
????????? Tom.exe has stopped working
“Okay, if you’re talking about the movie with JLo, don’t they end up together? And would you stop worrying, they’re going to love you. I talk about you all the time, I promise it’ll be fine”
Tom basically drags you out of the car, you clutching the bottle of wine and flowers you bought and trying not to trip
When he rings the doorbell, he holds your hand to calm you down
And also to stop you from running because let’s be honest, you were considering it
“Have I told you recently that you’re too pretty for me and I’m so lucky?”
“I mean…..maybe…..”
The door opens and your heart almost stops because the entire Holland family is standing in the doorway and smiling at you
You now realize where Tom gets his looks from because the entire family is GORGEOUS???
“Um, can we come inside first before you ambush her?”
Nikki gives you a hug immediately, thanking you for the flowers which just so happened to be her favorite
Heh, what a coincidence you totally did not pester Tom about it
Dom loves the wine, and is impressed when you tell him where it comes from
Tom is trying not to laugh because he’s the actually the one that bought the wine, but he won’t tell them that because you’re finally at ease
The twins love you already, because they can tell you make Tom really happy and you’re so sweet
Like you actually try talking about photography with Harry, who can tell you know nothing about it but he’s touched
And when you tell Sam that you wished you could cook, he actually offered to teach you just to spend more time with you
Paddy has officially made a new friend and big sister, and he begs Tom to bring you over more often so you can watch movies together because in his words
“She’s way cooler than you”
“Gee, thanks.”
Nikki thinks you’re wonderful, she’s very happy Tom found you and she can’t stop smiling at the two of you. She’s seen her fair share of girls and you’re already her favorite, especially when you offered to help her set the table and clean up after
Dom got to talk to you when Tom went outside with the boys to kick a soccer ball around, and he was really surprised to find you so intelligent too. You could hold your own and you had a strong mind and he appreciated that
He listened to you talk about world events and college and Nikki came to listen too and she loves that you know so much
“Dom, she’s so smart!”
When the boys come back in they try to understand what you’re talking about but it’s a big ?????
Tom is both low-key jealous and also really happy that his family has basically adopted you and likes you more than him
“Hey, it’s your eldest son remember me?”
“Tom, Y/N was just telling us about her classes! Did you know she’s majoring in Chemical Engineering?”
“Well, yeah I’m her boyfriend.”
Sam and Harry basically talk your ear off during Lunch, until Nikki tells them to knock it off because Tom is being pouty
“Mates, she’s my girlfriend and I wanna sit next to her.”
“You snooze you lose Tom”
He was an upset boi until you kissed him and told him that you would sit next to him after Lunch
Paddy tells you about his school and wants to know how you decided what you wanted to do but you tell him that he’s got plenty of time to figure that out and he should enjoy school in the meantime
After Lunch everyone sits outside in the garden and drinks while the sun sets because the aesthetic, ya feel?
“You better marry her, Tom.” Nikki whispers when you go play with Paddy
“Don’t worry, I’ve already got the ring”
Eventually it’s time for you and Tom to leave and everyone is sad about it because they love you
“Don’t forget to call us and you’re welcome any time.” Nikki sends a ton of food with you and Dom apologizes because you’re actually about to fall over and the boys can’t stop laughing
“Bye, everyone!” You finally finished hugging everyone and promising you’ll be back when Tom literally picks you up and takes you back to the car
“Hey, I wasn’t done saying goodbye!”
“You can call them later, we’d literally be 85 by the time you finish”
The entire car ride back you can’t stop gushing about Tom’s family and how great they are and Tom just can’t stop smiling
Because he’s so happy you like them and that they like you, it’s everything to him and he can’t wait to bring you around all the time
Tom will never admit it, but he was super nervous too and the fact that it all went perfectly means you must be “the one”
And with the ring in his jacket pocket, he can’t wait to solidify it and finally make you Mrs. Holland too
requests open!

#Hannigraham Meet-Cute Challenge: Infos
After having successfully concluded our Accidental Hannigraham sex initiative, and survived Christmas holidays, @fhimechan and I decided to promote another monthly project to fill this 2019 with delight and amusement in the form of fanfiction. This may not become that kind of party, but there’s still some promising ideas we recently found out, and we can’t wait for you to see them as well!
As you can read, this challenge will focus on meet-cute scenarios, universes where Will and Hannibal meet for the first time in an entirely different way. No analytical ambush, rather a serendipitous meeting in a coffee shop, an awkward moment in the libraty, a casual encounter in the middle of a fresh crime scene. We know you are very creative, there would be no need for us to provide prompts for your imagination to work, but this is a challenge after all (˘⌣˘ ) there should be something challenging. We selected twenty prompts from @meetcuteprompts for you to choose. You select one, you write your wonderful story, we collect it and promote your work in a post with the other entries of that month (◕‿◕)☆
#22: A is having a quiet night at home – that is, until A’s apartment neighbour begins blasting music. Frustration levels rising, A goes to knock on the neighbour’s door to ask them to keep it down… at the same time B, the resident on the other side, is about to. Need more detail? Click on the post.
#32: A checks into a cozy inn while on a cross-country road trip, beyond tired and ready to collapse. When A gets to the assigned room, he or she is in for a surprise! Someone else, B, is already in the room. Uh-oh.
#117: A is a professional assassin hired to take out a client’s cheating husband. But the client also spoke to B, a close friend, who has made it his/her’s own mission to also kill the husband. Unfortunately, both A and B have chosen the same night to do so, and it just so happens that B is a bit clumsy… and keeps getting in A’s way.
#143: A’s blind date just left, mumbling some sort of excuse about leaving the stove on. Confused and feeling rejected, A sits orders another beer at the bar, wondering where s/he went wrong. B, who had witnessed the situation, goes over and says sympathetically, “I think I know what went wrong… there’s something in your teeth.”
#162: A is interviewing potential roommates and is having very little luck. When it comes to B, A says, “I’m so sorry, I don’t think this is going to work. I can’t live with someone that I’d like to ask out.”
#166: A is at a coffee shop and sits down at a table, only to find a book on the chair. Intrigued, A starts flipping through it, and realizes it’s actually someone’s journal that had been left behind! And it’s fascinating. Unfortunately, B, the journal’s author, rushes back to retrieve it… and is horrified to see A reading it. But A, having gotten a feel for this person through his/her writing, asks if they want to go out sometime.
#176: A works at a pet store and is utterly surprised when B bursts through the door in a hurry and walks up to the cash without looking around. Out of breath, A says, “Please don’t ask why, but what do capybaras eat?”
#180: There has been a series of recent break-ins in A’s neighbourhood. B, a cop, knocks on A’s door to recommend safety measures and to ask if A has noticed anything peculiar — A hasn’t really seen anything, but invites the cop and his/her charming smile inside for coffee and a bit of false information so s/he might stay a while.
#207: A meets B and falls immediately for them, but B clearly doesn’t feel the same. After being rejected, A calls on Anteros, the avenger of unrequited love, to exact vengeance on B.
#210: A is a writer struggling to find inspiration for their next book. The publishers are breathing down their neck and the pressure is almost more than A can take. When A comes across an old Greek book in a thrift store, A brings it home and flips through the pages.... only to come across an old chant that was supposed to bring inspiration to those who read it out loud. A gives it a shot and... oh dear. Oh, oh dear. Somehow that summoned B, one of the Muses, to A’s living room.
#215: A is brought in to the police station for questioning about a crime they know nothing about and is put in an interrogation room… with B, who is another suspect in this particular case.
#231: A is hanging out with a friend but ends up stopping to look at some lingerie in a shop window. A is still chatting away, thinking that their friend has stopped with them also, and turns to where they assume their friend is to jokingly ask: “Wouldn’t I look sexy in that?” But it turns out that the friend had kept walking and it was B, a total stranger, who A had spoken to.
#232: A is in a public place and temporarily leaves their things where they are seated so that they can use the bathroom. When A returns, A notices B, the person sitting at the next table, putting A’s phone back on the table. A demands to know what they were doing with their phone, and B tells them that the phone was ringing non-stop and it was bothering everyone. Also… “Your friend is drunk and I think they want to sleep with you.”
#234: A and B are both looking for a movie to rent and, coincidentally, they have the same movie in mind! They reach for it at the same time and, oh, there’s only one copy left! After a few minutes of ‘oh, go ahead, you can have it’ from both sides, they agree to rent it and watch it together.
#239: A is sitting in a cafe trying to casually read their book, but is distracted by B’s loud phone conversation at the table over. B tells a joke over the phone, which makes A crack up unexpectedly – B looks over at A, annoyed that they were eavesdropping, but also appreciative that at least someone liked their joke! B hangs up and offers to tell A another.
#240: A stops at the pub near their house to pick up some food on the way home (they make the best fries in the neighbourhood) when A receives a phone call – and some terrible news. A starts crying and B, the bartender, asks A what’s wrong. As A opens up to them, B gives A a drink on the house, and helps talk them through it.
#246: A was fatally wounded in an accident and suddenly finds themself looking down at their own lifeless body in confusion. B is a reaper and offers A guidance… but A doesn’t want to do the whole follow the light bullshit. A wants to flirt with the cute reaper.
#248: A is a barista and has come to recognize the regulars and their orders. One day, B walks in and A greets them, starting to prepare their order, when B stops A with a sigh: “I’m not who you think I am.” After receiving a blank stare from A who has no idea how to respond to that, B continues, “I have a twin. I’m the other one.”
#251: A is in their backyard enjoying the nice weather when an animal saunters into view. A looks for a collar and finds nothing, but it lets A have a few cuddles before going on its way. The same thing happens for the next few days until one day, B appears trailing behind! “Aha! So this is where you’ve been running off to.” Ah, one more thing. The animal is B’s familiar.
#252: A is in the public library and notices a strange book that looks like it doesn’t belong in this section. A moves along to another genre, but it seems that this book is in every section… almost like it’s following A. How peculiar! When A finally picks it up to see what exactly it is, B appears out of thin air, and simply says, “I’ve been waiting fifty years for you.”
These awesome ideas have been selected arbitrarily among many others, which are as great and intriguing. If you’d like to fill a prompt we haven’t included, you’re free to do so; let us know and we’ll welcome your work in our collection, if not in our monthly update post. But if you’re willing to fill one of our choosing, you can choose the next: we will in fact substitute the filled prompt with another (of your choosing of ours, if you don’t have a particular preference), gradually running as many of them as possible, always trying to propose something new for you to sink your teeth into :D Our mission will be to achieve as many stories as we can obtain during the whole year with your help, our beloved fanwriters and fanartists!
That’s right, you’re welcome to provide fanarts as well as fanfictions, my deers ♥
Everyone can write or draw as many fanfictions or fanarts as preferred, and as long as you like, but please remember this is still about the meet-cute trope, so every work shall involve the tag Different First Meeting. Any rating, any length, any warning, if adequately tagged, will be accepted. We only ask of you to not be disrespectful and to stick to the prompt you choose, and honour every part of it :9 please include a link to it in your work, so anyone can read it!
We won’t book prompts, but we’re confident you’ll find something inspiring among our selection ;) and if you don’t, we’ll appreciate your reblog and hope for the following month to be more fortunate! In respect of our past initiative and our own preference, we’re concentrating on Hannigraham works. We know this is not as exciting as the Accidental sex, but don’t forget there’s no reason you can’t evolve the situation into something more... compromising ;) you’ll decide if there’s inevitable sex in store for us this time around!
Since we all know how Tumblr works, I’m tagging everyone I tagged in my last Accidental Sex post and hope that some of you are interested in pursuing this project with us. So here we are @a-hannibal-mess, @allionne, @ambar-gris, @andiemerizein, @angelchild1302, @avegetariancannibal, @ayden5956, @blackrose34, @bloodyilaria, @blueeyednightwing, @bonfire-choir, @cinelitchick, @crisisoninfintefandoms, @cutaneousmarginalpouch, @diemetzgermeisterin, @doyouacheforhim, @electrarhodes, @erodingthebluff, @eonblueinmay, @evolvingmydesign, @ethicsbecomeaesthetics, @fleeingdawn-blog1, @fragile-teacup, @gampire-thoughts, @gaycannibalbuddies, @grahamsdogs, @h4nnibalism, @hanfangrahamk, @hannibalatemyheart, @hannibalsbattlebot, @hannibalsimago, @hannigramfam, @hannigramfanfic, @hannigram-a-b-o-library, @hannigramwich, @hanniwinsagrahamy, @hunter-and-star-chaser, @ishipthemsogoddamnhard, @jadegreenworks, @jackalope-in-glasses, @janespetticoat, @kiyofan, @kobayashihatori, @krey-9-jorce, @louistennbookmarks, @mazephoenix, @maxaminkle, @mefistox, @mcsci4518, @midnight-stag, @purplesocrates, @saralecter77, @shaeshae-style, @slashyrogue, @snakesnlace, @stagswag, @sweetthingwithfeathers, @thatredbean, @thesilverqueenlady, @the-winnowing-wind, @tiggymalvern, @tinyenthusiasttriumph, @thenecronon, @whimsy-by-joja, @wiith-my-hands, @wlectergraham, @xcheekbonesandblueeyesx, @yes-yeah-yesh, @zigzag-wanderer many thanks for having indulged us so far, please bear with us a little longer if you please ^^ In @fhimechan’s or my next post, those who reblogged this one will be tagged again, and so on, trying to keep involved those who show their interest and support to us, leaving alone those who’d prefer not to be involved any further. I hope this will prove an efficient strategy, everything considered. We’ll handle things differently on Pillowfort, where we created a special community for anyone interested (o´▽`o )
In the hope of having said everything I needed to say, let me with you all a promising New Year, rich of amazing experiences and the loveliest fanworks. Fannibals are not done yet!
