I swear you pull off Mario and Luigi's bond perfectly in this AU! (And not just in this AU but in your other art as well!)

I can imagine the adventures your versions of Mario and Luigi go on!

For some reason, Super Mario Odyssey is coming to mind. I wonder how this version of Bowser and Peach would go in that, since Bowser is much more cruel in your verse. I also remember Luigi's Balloon World, where Luigi's so supportive to Mario. I can imagine your version of Mario being so happy to chat with his brother, venting his fears and pains as well as receiving love and comfort and telling happy memories to Luigi too. All while Luigi comforts Mario and laughs with Mario during happy times.

Also, poor Luigi in the Snow Kingdom forgetting his coat, he looked so cold in his overalls. I can imagine Mario instantly dragging his shivering brother to the Odyssey for soup and blankets.

Sorry for the rambling. My point is, your version of Mario and Luigi and Peach and Bowser is soo cool and I love them and it makes me think of what the games would be like in your verse (we need more vulnerable Mario). I just needed to let it all out. Keep up the good work and thank you!

Also these are all wonderful examples!! While I haven't thought of full adventures for them yet per say, I've often pictured them in a wide variety of very specific scenarios; picturing how each would react to this or that situation, how their interactions would go, what the primary mood would be, etc. 😊 Be it in a context where they're younger, where one of them is feeling down, where there are romantic shenanigans involved or where the setting is cozy and domestic, I find their relationship simply delightful to explore!

And omg YES, more vulnerable Mario ftw!! 😩💯 Some could say that mine is arguably perhaps even a bit too vulnerable, but that's just how I like to present him. 🥺💖 Emotional depth and openness is one of my absolute favorite traits to illustrate, and in my personal opinion, it's one that suits Mario quite well. ☺️

i see a lot of people talk about edward being disabled in fma, but it's less often talked about how alphonse is also disabled. i think it's partially because alphonse doesn't experience physical pain like edward so for a majority of the series, he's not having any of those kind of symptoms, but he is still disabled. also because alphonse's experiences are unique. like you don't see ant walking, talking suits of armour in real life (unless they're piloted by a human being physically inside them) and in world, there are about 3 others like alphonse).

alphonse is dependent on edward's survival to function. after fighting scar for the first time, alphonse is literally in pieces. he can't walk or anything until edward is in a position to fix him. similarly his body is dependent on nutrients from edward's body. like there's the point towards the end where edward gets impaled and alphonse collapses. furthermore, these periods where alphonse collapses start to become debilitating towards the end of the series and massively alter his daily living.

also, alphonse constantly talks about how upsetting it is for him to not feel any physical sensations. yeah, he's not feeling physical pain, but he's also not feeling the warmth of a fire, the sun on his face, or the fluffiness of the cats he keeps petting. he talks a lot about not being able to eat or sleep, and how there's a lot of foods he wants to try.

there's another thing that highlighted by edward at one point. alphonse's body doesn't regenerate at all. the parts scar destroys are gone forever; edward stretches out the metal that alphonse has left to repair his body. and obviously human beings don't regrow limbs, but imagine if your skin didn't ever heal over a cut. how long would your body last?

also alphonse gets told several times that his body is great throughout the series, and he literally argues against it every time, because to him it is shit. like he is missing some of his senses just for some supposedly immortal body that isn't even immortal.

even once alphonse gets his own body back, the amount of physical therapy the boy has to go through. his body has essentially been doing nothing and only receiving what nutrients it can get from edward for years. by the end of the series, he's still using a cane as a walking aid. it's unknown whether he requires that cane for the years to come, but for at least a period of time he requires a mobility aid. I don't know enough to say what effect muscle decay from inactivity and severe malnourishment during a major portion of his teenage years would have long term.

after act 2 I thought Sky is the hexcore manipulating Viktor.

after act 3 I thought Sky is the real Sky, both she and Viktor are being manipulated by hexcore as they see their magic as something good when it actually isn't.

but 1: if that's real Sky why did they change her model

but 2: how can she possibly see their magic as good when it literally killed her? did she thought "it killed me but revived Viktor so it's ok"? alright

then, I believe, when she realized all this evolution is NOT good, it was too late to persuade Viktor. she be "he won't listen to me anyway lol bye" so her death does nothing to his hexdamaged brain.

and then we see Jayce persuading him in like 3 minutes. I'd believe Jayce meant more to Viktor than Sky but it was Sky who was with Viktor all this time when he rejected Jayce right after his resurrection. It was Sky who inspired and guided him in his herald path.

and they made her to be just a metaphor for his humanity to discard when she was a REAL person with her OWN mind and POWER to affect Viktor. well guess she wasn't.

I think it's really tragic how wukong never felt satisfied with his immortality it never felt enough for him if he never got imprisoned and met tang sanzang I believe he would've never stopped

and you can understand why, he never had parents he was never a child he was deferent from everyone else not a celestial being not exactly a demon just a stone monkey I think immortality and power made him feel safe and it didn't help that most of his old friends only became his friends because he's powerful I think it pushed the idea in his head that he should be powerful to be loved

Then he met tang sanzang the only person who got mad at wukong for abusing his powers or when he act like he should do whatever he wants because he's powerful that's how everyone treated him like and when macaque said to wukong "the great sage thinks he can do whatever he wants" it was a bit too late for that call out not saying it was his responsibility to guide wukong because it wasn't but he probably should've said those things in his mind earlier because it's obvious that he built some resentment that he kept for himself

and don't get me wrong wukong was definitely in the wrong but so is everyone who allowed him that mindset and even encouraged it mostly azure for treating wukong like he's above everyone even azure himself it only give wukong problems with his ego and sometimes narcissist destructive ways of thinking

and then he met tang sanzang who made him realise in the hard way that he isn't above it all because he's strong and immortal the thing he worked so hard for became meaningless

tang sanzang was the only person who was capable of saving wukong from his path of self destruction without him he would've probably looked for more immortality forever or till it finally destroyed him the pilgrims and him were on equal footing he wasn't treated above them like he was treated in the brotherhood he made mistakes they made mistakes they forgive him he forgive them they made each other better people they gave him a sense of belonging he could've never had with the brotherhood

That's why they probably stayed together even after the journey because they're family in the ways that mattered that's why wukong isn't obsessed with immortality anymore because they're more important because he doesn't need to be strong to be loved by them he just needed to be more empathetic and selfless and he did all those things

He can play cheeky and obnoxious all he wants he's definitely one of the gentlest characters in the show after sandy and it's all because of the pilgrims especially tang sanzang

Someone probably already said something similar to this at some point, but I want to get this out myself: I feel like Roy and Riza not getting an on-screen happy resolution (and an obstacle in them getting it ever, though if they ultimately do is left to the audience's imagination) is not only not a flaw or something missing from the ending, but actually a good thing. Not because I don't like RoyAi - I do, but because it works thematically. This aspect I find interesting when contrasted with the other major couple in the series, Ed and Winry, who get about as definitive of a conclusion as you can get (and with the proposal scene, and the family photo in the montage - the EdWin "confirmation" is pretty much what caps off the series).

 When Riza tells Ed about Ishval, and her and Roy's plan to have those who carried it out tried as war criminals, she tells him to not worry about them, but be more concerned about himself. Basically: "your hands aren't stained with blood, go and be happy, don't get bogged down by those like us whose are". And I think this sentiment applies to the romantic couples: Ed and Winry are innocent, and get to maintain that innocence throughout the story (Ed held on to his principles, primarily about not killing, Winry didn't pull that trigger), so we see them get the happy ending. Roy and Riza aren't innocent, so they don't get that conclusion. I even like to think that that's why in that conversation Riza so casually brings up Ed loving Winry. Maybe she's seeing herself and Roy in them, but unlike with herself there's nothing stopping them from finding happiness together, so she wants them to. I'm looking at this through a shipping lense, because I enjoy examining this aspect from that perspective, but honestly this applies to the ending overall. Ed accomplishes his goals, and through the final episode/chapter we definitively know that he and the people closest to him (like Al and Winry) pretty much get to live happily ever after. Roy by series end hasn't yet accomplished his goal of becoming Fuhrer, his romantic arc isn't resolved, there's still that "tried as war criminals” thing they're planning looming over. His ending is a lot more up in the air. Team Mustang not named Roy or Riza actually do get happy endings via photos, and sure enough those are the ones who didn't serve in Ishval.

okay ! so, i wanted to do a fun little thing for my upcoming birthday (may 22nd) and i've been wanting to practice writing smut SO i came up with a onlyfans/pornstar!au with multiple characters (it's lowkey super self indulgent cause i love these characters sm)

like anything that you need an actual mind wipe to enjoy the same way as you did the first time. for it to be just as emotionally devastating. for every twist and turn to make you feel the same.

There is a brutal contrast in how Megatron and Optimus's stories end. Optimus nobly surrenders his spark, along with the Matrix of Leadership, having been sent off by his dear and trusted friends after giving them a fond farewell. He has accomplished his life's greatest goal; now he is able to rest. He dies willingly, at peace, bringing hope and giving life to the next generation by restoring the Allspark.

Megatron had already been killed, and was told that he can never join that very Allspark. Having been enslaved, and only released because of Optimus's actions, he is now reanimated, inhabiting his own corpse. His only remaining ally, who has constantly betrayed him, does not understand him. He flies off, alone, having lost all his forces and failed in his mission, and realizing that his life's greatest purpose was misguided. He is left, we can only assume, to live a hellish and hopeless life--a shell, consumed by the past.

And he did not tell Optimus goodbye. He knows that Optimus will leave him behind, will obtain the heaven he can never enter. He gives him the parting gift of his repentance, to acknowledge this. But in his refusal to say farewell, there is an echo of his own wretched endurance. He does not get to rest. Megatron will remain, eternally alone--eternally waiting for a reunion that will never come.

oh god can you imagine if the elrics grew up with access to mario kart. at least one of them would not have survived to adulthood. if they physically fought over toys and whipped out the graduated cylinders over 1.3ml difference in juice distribution i think mario kart would make them actually kill each other 😭
