I'm not saying I was born in the wrong generation, or whatever, because I wasn't. I just really, really hate modern architecture.

✨️✨️ARCHITECTURE RANT✨️✨️

Look at all this flavor, this personality, this artwork. By God, it is beautiful. Reject minimalism. Reject brutality. Reject beige. Reject concrete. Embrace maximalism. Embrace lace. Embrace hand carved furniture. Embrace stained glass. Embrace lots and lots of plants in your home. Return to your roots. Become beautiful once again. Be an oceanside house with sea glass wind chimes and stained glass windows. Be a hillside manor with an ornate greenhouse and plush bed. Be a little cabin deep in the forest with a stone fireplace and handmade chairs. Be a cramped apartment in New York with string lights and heirloom plates stacked in a cabinate. Anything but the London Lincoln Plaza, minimal, or modern brutalism. PLEASE. For some reason, unknown to me, society as a whole has become obsessed with sleek, clean designs. All houses must look the same. Save on space. Beige! I hate it. The overwhelming obsession with minimalism feels gross. Like people shouldn't express themselves through their home, the very place in which they live and thrive. When I walk into a minimalistic house, it seems like no one really lives there. Everything is perfect and pristine. Also, I hate cubes. And rectangles. And any perfect quadrilateral. Why should we as humans have perfect, pristine homes when we as humans are inherently flawed, imperfect beings? Why have we done this? Why shouldn't we show off our strange collections and bright throw pillows? Why should anything have to match? Why live your life and not express your joy? I understand that many people like these styles, but usually, if they do, they really mean eco-brutalist or googie. But minimalism brings no joy. I have too many things and opinions to express at once. Thoughts?

i personally think that odo has flown into a glass pane as a bird at least once, and i think quark deserves to be there when it happens

I work with horses for a living and I’d like to hop on the bandwagon and suggest some breeds. I can’t remember if your beans are Italian, but that’s the assumption I’ve been going with so I apologize if I’m wrong!

Machete: Sardinian Anglo-Arab or Cavallino di Monterufoli

Vasco: Salernitano or Lipizzano (they come in colors that aren’t grey)

I have other recs if they aren’t Italian. I would add Neapolitan to Vasco, but you won’t find many (if any) photos of them. It went extinct in the 50s as its own unique breed. The Lipizzano is a descendant.

#I've mentioned this before #but it's genuinely delighting when I briefly bring up some (usually unrelated) topic #and soon find out that there's people following me who are experts on that specific subject #like for example rare and extinct Italian horse breeds #oh and yes you remembered correctly they're Italian Vasco is from Florence and Machete originally from Sicily #I didn't know about that thing about horse colors! that's really interesting actually #typically it's the black cats and dogs that were seen as ill omens #weird to think that for horses the unlucky color could be white #at least in some contexts #thank you for taking the time to send these!#answered #halluseance

#text #art #eyestrain #cw eystrain #bright colors #cw bright colors #tetris #nintendo #god i dont know what to tag this with. i dont wanna tag it with the podcasts themselves cuz that feels disingenuous. swagever #i actually started this piece a while ago. ok yeah looking at the date that was almost 3 weeks ago wow #but i finally decided to bring it back and finish it #ive been getting back into digital art and its been really nice. its nice having finished pieces.#ive been trying to get weirder with my art. like this piece was weirdly 'personal' in a sense #its been my unique experience listening to these pieces of media. the game in the bg is jsut as important to my experience as the art itsel #the looming sense of dread these podcasts give fit weirdly well with the high tension of some of these games of tetris #i wanted to have that sorta weird ominous vibe to it. have even the pieces feel loud and threatening.#and the gameplay being Past the ds itself is something i thought could be neat #ykno the tetris effect? where you play a bunch and then after you see the shapes everywhere;you play it in your mind?#that was part of what i wanted to channel there. but also like; how your attention works with this stuff #i might be looking straight at the ds but my attention is elsewhere; my brain is in another world #the game is still inescapable tho. tetris effect whatever. these stories stick in my brain just as much.#its all given me some. very very annoyingn anxiety. but i have to go back to them. like a moth to a flame etc. hince the moth climbing out #but uh yeah. that set up was my life for a few weeks whenever i had free time.#the main podcast this is about was magnus btw <- not typing full name so im not on the tag #and uh.#objectum #yeah i think. i think yeah.
