#Marvel #Marvel comics #Marvel 616 #Vengeance of the Moon Knight #Vengeance of the Moon Knight 2024 #Vengeance of the Moon Knight vol. 3 #latest release #Moon Knight #Soldier #that opening page is breath-taking (and perhaps in a literal sense for that dude getting whaled on)#/almost/ succeeded in distracting me from Soldier’s raging survivor’s guilt #but…oof #what really gets me about this issue (and I guess Soldier’s character in general) is how adamant he is about his willingness to die #and yet he continues to live #he didn’t get blown up in his introductory issue he got turned into a vampire and now he’s seemingly outlived Marc #it seems to be asking the question «yeah sure you’ll die for me but will you keep on living to continue my mission?»#which already gets me in the gut but also seems particularly impactful when it’s coming from Marc #considering how much he consistently felt like a dead man walking haunted by his past and alive only to somehow atone for that past #and I very much look forward to coming back to this issue if it’s ever revealed if this new Moon Knight is really Marc come back wrong #because Soldier spends so much of this issue insisting that the Moon Knight he would die for is dead #and it would make that first page wonderfully/terribly ironic #just the concept of the man you feel you should have died for still living but twisted into something unrecognizably despicable #maybe to the point where the man he was is functionally dead #that would be wild

Anyone else think it's kinda messed up that Skiff the Sailboat can't breath water?

Like. Dude is a BOAT. You would think that maybe because he's supposed to always be in the water he shouldn't be struggling to breathe all the time. Yet every time his face goes under he's always coughing and spluttering.

Like, why would they make a boat. That usually goes in the water. That can't breathe underwater? That just feels like needless struggling to me.

No one knows how close I was to orcas yesterday

#btw I swam 17 miles off shore by myself I’m actually not on a boat #no but actually this was insane they could’ve swam away from us at any point but they stayed and swam under our boat #they let us stay with them for like half an hour before deciding to go away #it was really hard to tell how many whales were in this pod but at least 4 #and they let us get so close to them I have a video of them swimming where you can hear them breathing cuz they’re so close #also there were some humpback whales near them for a little bit and they were not happy to be together #the orcas can’t kill the adult humpbacks but they can beat them up and the girls were fightinggggv #orcas #killer whale #Monterey bay #monterey bay aquarium #the monterey bay aquarium #this was not related to the aquarium I just want them to see my orca pod #Monterey bay aquarium I give you permission to use my orca pictures because I love you #whale watching #humpback whale #excuse me why did whale!reader come up as a tag when I tried to type humpback whale?#all of you are sick post cancelled

SHES JUST THE SWEETEST LITTLE BABY GIRL!!!!! AND IM SEEING HER AGAIN TOMORROW!!!!!!!

#one thing that stuck out when i did this encounter was when she was touching my hand she would kinda sway up and down with the water #but she kept pushing herself back up so she was touching me as much as she could #and i know they trained her to do that for the photo ops and it makes sense #but it was so sweet to me like she didn't just tap me she kept coming back for a good like 15 - 20 seconds 😭#and it reminded me in the moment how intelligent she is #i think at first it kinda didnt feel like real life and i wasnt processing what was happening #but when i noticed that i was like wait. this is a living breathing thinking conscious intelligent creature right here #so intelligent and special that i care deeply about how her species is treated #and i wouldn't even be here if i didn't know that it is the best possible place for her to be. and i actively boycott similar but bad places #and she is making a concious effort to be in as much contact with me as possible #and i KNOW she does it for everyone #but i kinda fully believe that she looked in my eyes and knew that i loved her on a more profound level than everyone else #and im kinda joking. but kinda not #ok goodnight for real bc i need to be rested to see my angel babygirl sweetie pie loml tomorrow :)#whales

Nature really went off with sperm whales. A 70-ton predator with teeth the size of a banana but it only eats squishy prey that it doesn’t even chew, it just schlorps them down whole like a vacuum cleaner. Big giant fat head full of goop. Tiniest fins in the world. Strong enough to smash a ship to pieces and smart enough to figure out how to do so but its first line of defense is just to shit everywhere. Possibly the most complex language in the animal kingdom and it creates sounds by blowing air through its internal right nostril (it uses the left one to breathe) into its giant fat head. It’s the loudest animal on the planet and might have the capability to create a beam of sound so loud it can shake your organs apart but they don’t seem to use that to hunt or fight. They’re highly flammable. We used them to make candles.
