Happy Friday Surfers! Can you relate to this? I feel like being in the right position is the best cure for low wave count. My shrimpy arms agree (though I'm SO much better at paddling now than when I first started and was pretty sure I'd die out there).
I'm an artist/new surfer and I write a comic about what's it's like to learn surfing as an adult in Santa Cruz, CA. I drop a new comic every Friday so follow for more! Thanks!

I got to see a very close relative of my favorite shark; the Bluntnose Six-Gill. I saw the Broadnose sevegill!! Seeing one was so exciting!! They are literally prehistoric babies :3 A fun fact about the Broadnose sevengill is that they’re the only extant member of the genus Notorynchus. Notorynchus is a genus of deep water sharks.
Another fun fact is that I am the #1 fan of all Hexanchiformes

Hi surfer people!
I'm taking one week off my comic and here's why: I've been battling severe bronchitis for weeks and dragging myself through life. This week I went to the doctor to get treatment and I am finally starting to feel better. Weird that it took a doctor listening to my lungs going, "woah, let's get you x-rayed right now," for it to click that I've been super sick.
Instead of a comic, I'm sharing otter sketches because I'm working on a piece about Otter 841! Santa Cruzians know this otter mamma is iconic for aggressively defending her territory against all invaders. I'm excited about it and otters are super fund to draw! Soon I'll also be launching a series of caricatures of surfers I encounter in the water.
So, there's lots more on the way and I'm sorry to miss a week but I'm going to spend today relaxing in the sun and resting up!
Thank you so much to everybody who looks forward to my comic, you seriously keep me going! I promise I'll be back next Friday. <3
And I cannot freaking wait to get back to surfing!!!!!
