Some 2000s "girls toys" had a curious trend of creating logos for major brands that looked like an employee had their tween throw them together the night before a presentation.

YEAH BABY, bring on the random lower case letters, squashed together words, and random font changes! Graphic design is my passion!

#toys #toy companies #Mattel #Hasbro #MGA #listen I love the G3 MLP toys #but the logo is so bad #the font is just ???#and the shape of the logo is referencing the 'double-heart' seen on the hooves of prototype ponies #but the double heart was SCRAPPED before the ponies started production #so the logo doesn't even make sense in connection to the brand #oh and the Bratz logo on its own isn't that bad #but then you add the flowery text tagline and the character art and yikes #interestingly Monster High has a very polished and symmetrical logo #and the couple 'boys toys' I looked up like Bionicle and 2001 Transformers had very slick logos too #but it's possible there are also boys toys with logos like this that I jsut wasn't thinking of

i get such a sense of primal envy when looking at edwin’s clothes up close because god you can just tell his coat is real wool and made to last and not cheap flimsy mass produced garbage and auggagghhhh that was just STANDARD in his time. by no means am i saying i was #borninthewronggeneration because i like having vaccines and household appliances but. man. to have a personally-tailored coat like that that’d last for years and years……. and fabrics of fine thread-dense quality………. if only

to preface this post i am anti-advertising i think we should explode the entire industry but it's sooo funny when you people make posts like "and they don't even work!!" like. sorry to be the bearer of bad news but yes they do. that's why we have to put up with so many despite everyone hating them and thinking its annoying. because they actually work really well and make a shit load of money

#it actually would be way better if they didnt work and made no money bc businesses would abandon them #this isnt like stocks where everythings abstract and is essentially gambling (i dont understand stocks)#like ppl in the ad industry create things. that make a tangible and quantifiable impact on the business #which is then used in further ad planning. it is NOT all smoke and mirrors #like its fake in that the industry is not providing a necessary service the way like. grocery stores are #but its not the level of fake where everything is abstract like theres deliverables #moreover there is an extensive body of academic work specifically on how to make ads more effective #ALSO i think some of u views ads like. as if they have a win condition. which is you buy product #but in current advertising this is pretty rare and comparatively ineffective #which is why you see MANY ads which dont seem to be selling anything in particular. or which have nothing all to do with the product #the 'win' condition for THAT kind of ad is something more like 'viewers remember our name'#like. ex i would say ads for temu have not been effective on me bc i havent bought anything from them #but temu probably thinks they were SUPER effective on me because i talked abt them like 5 different times at work #and i do in fact know exactly what the company does and what they sell #and they were able to capitalize on the reputations of existing companies (wish shein etc) to build their own brand #good idea generator

being highly sensitive to Perfume Smell is such a game of russian roulette in which you put Scented Stuff on your skin and wait 5-15 minutes to find out if it's going to stab you through the sinuses straight through your brain

#goddamn scent triggered migraines #you have NO IDEA how hard it is to find soaps and shampoos and lotions i can use #unless you are Same Hat #and of course every damn time ya find a lotion or soap that smells nice (even unscented is a smell i promise) AND doesn't hate you #it's wildly expensive/very difficult to find and/or immediately discontinued by the brand #also just because one scent from a brand works for you doesn't mean others will #fascy moisture bomb strawberry hand cream?? fucking phenomenal #disappeared forever as soon as i bought it #the other scents in the same product line? unfuckingbearable #i spent entirely too much time tonight hunting online for lotions with enough reviews to let me take a chance on it #and bought entirely too many because by god surely ONE OR MORE of them will work right???
