My younger brother got the name I would have gotten had I been a boy.
(Brother after that got the name my mother was peer-pressured into giving him though she still made his middle name the one she wanted him to have).
Random fact: I'm the only one of my parents' kids who doesn't have a Y in my first or middle name. (Brothers both have Ys in their middle names, sister has one in both her middle and first names).
super curious today about how people feel toward the names they might have been given. apparently i used to ask my mom about my “boy name” several times a week and get really sad i couldn’t have both my given name and that name. being trans this is hilarious to me now so wondering
also curious how this intersects with being trans!! i feel like my fixation with it definitely had a lot to do with that, so idk add in tags? if you feel like being trans makes you more/less curious about it

Kinda love that almost all my friends have some sort of theme when I dream about them
Roo: weird/intense shit happens but he always gets me out of the situation and takes charge
Fabian: we literally just go camping. Or go on car rides. Things are calm, we are in nature, all is well
Oliver: he sleeps. I may put a blanket on him. Or I bring him something to eat
Magnus: he's just doing the usual, doing a lil dance, wearing odd hats, smiling a lot

I see so much of "is post-crisis Robin Jason an innocent little sweetie-pie or a mean aggro delinquent" and after reading through all of his batman and detective comic issues post-crisis I think i can safely say he's... an introverted and distrustful, but altogether friendly teen boy who has convinced himself to the deepest level that he is an Adult Man, and also does not hold a particularly good view of adults.
The sweet little babypie characterization falls a little short (assuming we aren't being too silly with it, there's plenty of that in the comedy issues of tec) because it disregards the part where he's a jaded teenager who is constantly going off and trying to take care of his own problems like "his own man" and reacts negatively to any breach of trust or move to take care of him. But negative doesn't mean "violent and rageful." The delinquent angle is incorrect because not only is his disposition peppy, silly, and agreeable most of the time, but assuming the problem upsetting him isn't a predator or the guy who killed his dad (and three out of four canon instances it is a predator to be clear) he reacts to emotional turmoil with Bruce by bedrotting, sulking, communicating through notes, and overall being avoidant. The only times he lashes out are when Bruce is calling him out or after Bruce told him to his face that he chose to look for the Joker over looking for him, and that case of "lashing out" is just getting a little snarky.
More than anything his main personality trait (besides being silly, a robin staple) is kinda coming into this parentified as fuck. Not that it's Catherine's fault, but it really shaped his character, like one of the first things he says to Bruce (after he promised not to turn Jason in to the foster system) is that he kept her fed and warm as long as he could like he wasn't her ten year old child when he started. It's why he views himself on the same level as adults and why he gets all closed off at any insinuation that he needs to be taken care of, both of which heavily inform his dynamic with Bruce. He's constantly checking in on Bruce's wellbeing, like half of Batman: the Cult is just him taking care of Bruce while he recuperates from being brainwashed. (Side note, he's also constantly asking Bruce stuff like "what's your relationship like with this woman or this rogue or the concept of religion, how did that play out, how do you feel about it?" he is Very chatty like that.) The first thing he does when Sheila tells him her (revised to exclude medical malpractice) life story is hold HER and try to affirm her struggle. After a while he starts to act more childish with Bruce (although he doesn't really stop trying to brush off attempts to care for him) but as soon as Bruce admits he prioritized crimefighting over Jason and didn't show up to look after Jason like Jason assumed he came there for, Jason snaps back to acting very independent and rejecting any attempts to be looked after on any terms other than some kind of "equals" thing, which he isn't, as he's a 15 year old boy. Like. He's very sweet to his former neighbor, but also he refers to being a homeless child and the sole provider in his condemned building living situation as "getting by" to her.
He's definitely not. some bloodthirsty delinquent, at least to anyone who's not an uber-misogynistic predator, and he like demonstrably is a pretty sweet kid. It's just that when people say he's a sweet kid they kinda just jump to "untraumatized eight-year-old who grew up in a loving family and just got a new puppy from Santa" instead of "good hearted and curious teenager who has trust issues and is deeply uncomfortable with being taken care of, so kinda just compromises by pretending his dad is a Friend Doing him a Solid and acts like his kid only when he has plausible deniability so he can't get the rug pulled out from under him." Of course. He does kinda get the rug pulled out from under him despite all that. So there's that.

Tumblr media
You stand in the courtyard of Winterfell. Cold wind and snowflakes swirl around you. Nevertheless, you are not freezing. Your husband has made sure that you are always dressed in warm fur coats and thick fabrics.
When you first arrived in Winterfell, you froze for weeks. You grew up under the hot sun, in deserts, water gardens, and heat. Winterfell is the complete opposite.
Nevertheless, you are happy here. You never would have thought that you could be happy here in the cold North. This macgt began purely politically. After the death of his first wife in childbirth, the Lord of Winterfell needed a new wife. To have another heir, just in case. For House Stark.
Your family needed allies in the seven Kingdomes. To secure independence from the Iron Throne. For House Martell.
So ravens were sent back and forth, and shortly after, you were on your way to Winterfell to marry Lord Stark. A Dornish princess for the North.
It was not easy for you to adjust. Cregan had been distant at first, but quickly thawed out. Not even three months into your marriage, it was no longer a political marriage, but love.
Your stepson Rickon is the apple of your eye. A nice, well-mannered, friendly boy, just four years old, but already behaving like an honorable Lord. At least that's what you think, but you are his stepmother after all.
Excited, he stands next to you and watches the sky. His small hand in yours. He wants to see the prince's dragon. Of course, it's all terribly exciting for him.
"Do you think I can pet the dragon?"
Cold fear runs down your spine at the thought of your little boy approaching a fire-breathing monster. Nevertheless, you smile at him before responding.
"You'll have to ask the prince about that."
Heavy footsteps behind you reveal your husband before you hear his voice. "As far as I've heard, the prince is very friendly so don't be afraid to ask."
Cregan places his hand on your lower back as he stands next to you. A smile immediately appears on your face, and you lean slightly into your husband's arms. For a moment, you simply enjoy being with your little family.
"He is a prince just like you are a princess, right?" asks Rickon with the curiosity that only children have.
"Exactly."
"Why didn't you marry a prince instead of father?"
Cregan looks at his son. His jaw tightens slightly, as it always does when he is angry. But you can only laugh and squeeze Rickon's hand.
"I don't need a prince." you say then.
A restlessness spreads among the guards on Winterfell's walls, and immediately Rickon turns his attention back to the sky.
You notice how Cregan tenses slightly next to you. The next few days, the negotiations with the prince, will seal the fate of your house in this Targaryen war. He must now sovereignly fulfill the role of the Lord. You don’t doubt for a second that he will be successful with this task and lead your family out of this crisis.
You stand on your tiptoes and press a kiss on his cold cheek. You want to say something else, but a shadow flies over you. You look up and see a dragon circling above the courtyard. You are almost relieved when you see the dragon, you had feared it would be larger.Nevertheless, the ground trembles slightly as the dragon lands. Prince Jacaerys slips out of the saddle and lands firmly on the ground.
You sink into a curtsy while your husband and your stepson bow.
"Welcome to Winterfell. It is an honor for me and my family to welcome you here."
You straighten up again and look at the prince closely. Dark curls, tousled by the wind. Noble clothing in the colors of his house, red and black. His cheeks are slightly flushed from the wind and the cold, a friendly smile on his face.
"The honor is on my side, Lord Stark. I am grateful that you are receiving me."
You can hear in his voice that he is unsure, but he is trying to hide it. For a moment, their silence lingers. Jacaerys shifts nervously from one foot to the other.
"You must be cold, my prince. Please come inside, we have warm food and drinks prepared." you say with a gesture towards the castle, fully in your role as Lady Stark.
The prince nods and says a word in a language you don't understand. The dragon behind him takes to the air again and flies away.
"He won't attack any people, will he?"" asks Cregan, his voice controlled but worried.
The prince begins to laugh but quickly becomes serious again at a glance into your husband's face. "No. Of course not. Vermax hunts exclusively venison. Even your farmers' cattle is safe. Should it still occur, House Targaryen is, of course, ready to pay compensation."
You immediately recognize that he has memorized this. Cregan nods, he is not yet fully convinced. Tension runs through his shoulders. Quickly, you force a smile onto your lips.
"Your words reassured us. Thank you my Prince." you say, giving Cregan's hand a light squeeze.
Together, you go inside. The halls of Winterfell are warm. A nursemaid takes Rickon while the Prince, Cregan, and you make your way to the great hall. There, bread and salt are first shared before the servants bring warm soup, meat, wine, and beer.
Jacaerys' insecurity falls away a little and he seems to relax. It calms you a little as well. The Targaryens and the Martells have had a rather tense relationship for a long time. It follows from the unwillingness of your people to bend the knee before the Conqueror and the subsequent dragon attacks. You cannot focus on the past now but must support your husband and the North. So you greet Jacaerys with emphasized friendliness while the usual pleasantries are exchanged. Jacaerys praises the beauty of Winterfell, Cregan asks if his journey was pleasant. However, you notice that the longer the meal goes on, the more nervous the prince becomes.
"You surely know by now what has brought me so far north," he begins after the last course is finished.
"The news of your war has reached us, yes," Cregan replies. You place your hand on his thigh and give it a gentle squeeze. Show him your support.
"My mother's birthright was stolen from her." Jacaerys begins, sounding as if he has rehearsed it again.
"One might see it that way." you respond as diplomatically as possible. You don't want Cregan to go to war for the queen. You want him here with you in Winterfell and far away from the battlefield. The mood is a bit tense again. Jacaerys looks at you for a moment. His gaze is uncomfortable for you. Nevertheless, you smile.
"You want my armies and support for your mother's claim." Cregan's words are a statement, not a question.
Jacaerys nods. "Lady Arryn from the Vale has ..."
Cregan raises his hand to interrupt him. "It is of no importance what Lady Arryn promised."
"House Stark swore an oath. An oath of loyalty to the Iron Throne."
"I know. But House Stark also swore an oath to protect the people of the realm. And this oath is a thousand years older than the one made to your ancestor, the Conqueror."
Jacaerys looks at Cregan, confused. "I don't understand, my Lord Stark."
"It's hard to explain. Accompany me to the Wall. Then we'll continue talking about oath and armies."
The prince hesitates for a moment, then he nods."Fine."
"Good, now that that's settled, my prince," you begin, giving him one of your wider smiles. You want to dissolve the tense atmosphere. "We have prepared a small celebration this evening to properly honor your visit. You probably want to rest beforehand. Your journey was long and arduous."
"Yes, of course, thank you, Princess."
"A servant will show you to your guest chambers." says Cregan, already beckoning a servant over.
"I will take care of that. It is an honor and my duty as Lady Stark to host our guests, husband."
Cregan glances briefly at you, then at the prince. He nods. "Fine."
You rise, kiss his cheek, and then turn to the prince. "Please follow me."
He gets up and you accompany him through the halls of your home to the guest chambers. You both remain silent, but you can hardly bear the tense atmosphere.
"My husband doesn't mean any harm. It´s just that is duties as Lord of Winterfell are very important to him."
"I understand, Princess."
You can understand that he feels rejected about the postponement of the negotiations. "The war, however, is of great importance for the future of the kingdom."
"Of course."
"It probably doesn't interest you.House Martell is, after all, independent."
You're trying not to let the insult, which lingers in his tone, get to you and instead smile politely.
"House Martell, perhaps. But House Stark is my family. We keep our vows."
Jacaerys suddenly stops. "I didn't mean to offend you. I'm sorry. I'm just." he interrupts himself.
"I can understand that it is a difficult situation. Your house was certainly not prepared for a war against your own blood."
"No, we weren't," he admits. "I don't have much practice being an envoy."
"You are doing well. Come now, my prince. Everything will surely be fine. Have faith in the oaths of the Lords. They all knelt before your mother and swore loyalty."
Jacaerys nods and smiles slightly. "Yes, I'll try."
Winterfell is showing itself form his best side. The great hall is filled with laughter and music. The food was exquisite. Jacaerys followed your husband's invitation and left his honored seat at the high table to walk beside Cregan through the great hall and speak with the bannermen of House Stark. The mood is good. People are dancing, and for this evening, you can also forget the looming danger. The wine tastes you a little too good today, the warm air in the hall doesn't help, and you notice your mind becoming slightly hazy as the wine takes effect.
You are engrossed in a conversation with Lady Mormont and your cousin Elisan Sand when the prince approaches you. "Princess. A dance?" he asks. His cheeks are slightly flushed from the wine, and he smiles kindly.
"Of course, my prince."
You stand up and let Jacaerys lead you to the dance floor. He leads you through the dance steps elegantly.
"I would like to thank you," he begins. His steps are confident. You have to think for a second about your first dance with your husband. He stepped on your feet three times back then. Even after all the years of your marriage, you couldn't turn Cregan into a dancer. No matter how much you love to dance, your husband rarely joins you on the dance floor. Only in the privacy of your chambers, without an audience, does he sway you to the music.
"For what?"
"Your words this noon. Your trust in your husband and in the oaths of the Lords have reassured me a little."
"The realm would fall apart if Lords did not remember their oaths," you say confidently. The Lords of the Seven Kingdoms cannot be so foolish as to risk a civil war among the dragons. The dispute over the throne would surely be over quickly. Who will supports a usurper?
"I hope so." says the prince. "Still, thank you Lady Stark or Princess. What do you prefer?"
"My name."
He says your name as if to try it on his tongue. "Under one condition, princess." a smile flickers across his lips as he sees your confused look.
"Which one, my prince?"
"Call me Jace."
"Jace it is."
He smiles at you. You wouldn't have expected this kind of kindness from him. At least not towards you. When you look at the history of your families, there has always been nothing but bad blood. But neither Jace nor you seem to care about the past. While you dance, you fall into a pleasant conversation. You are surprised by his sharp mind and friendly demeanor. He is well-read, clever, witty, and charming. In addition, his dance steps are confident and elegant. Jace is not at all the spoiled prince you had imagined. He elicits laughter from you with a few of his jokes, the wine you've drunk contributes, and you join in on his banter. You give him a few clever remarks on his jokes, which makes him laugh. He laughs openly and warmly, so you can't help but laugh along with him. Jacaerys spins you around a few times to the music before pulling you back into his arms. His hand lands a little too low on your lower back, but before you can say anything, he corrects his grip upwards. His cheeks turn a little redder, but you decide to ignore the little accident. Before you can resume your conversation, you are suddenly pulled away from Jace. The tight grip is almost painful. Immediately, you tense up and are about to complain, but the sound of your husband's voice reaches your ears. A smile immediately appears on your lips, the sound of his voice is enough to make your heart beat faster. Sometimes you feel sick of yourself because you love your husband so much that your thoughts are cheesy and full of love.
"You excus, my prince?" Cregan reaches for your hand before Jacaerys can respond.
"Of course." he gives you a slight nod and then leaves the dance floor.
You smile at your husband as you begin to dance. He still seems slightly tense.
"Have you spoken with your bannermen?"
"Yes," he replies shortly.
"They are not thrilled about the prospect of going to war."
"Of course not. Winter is coming. It's not time for war."
You almost have to sigh. Winter always comes. "The prince will surely understand if you can't provide him with any or only a few men."
"I honestly doubt that." his voice is unusually cold. "I just hope he won't burn Winterfell down with his dragon if we really turn him down."
"He wouldn't do that," you say confidently.
"Seems like you know him well already." his jaw tightens and he avoids your gaze. You furrow your eyebrows at his unusual behavior. Cregan is a serious man, but he is not suspicious. He trusts a man's word. Because he always keeps his word. That's how the Stark men are, it's in their blood.
The song ends, but instead of leading you through the next dance, Cregan steps back. He gives you a brief nod.
"I still have to talk with a few Lords." he turns away and just leaves you standing there. He didn't even give you a kiss. Confused, you stand still for a moment before leaving the dance floor. Actually, you would like to dance with your husband a little longer, but you can also understand that he has duties to fulfill.
Your gaze sweeps through the hall. Jace is already dancing again. This time with your sister-in-law Sara.
You are surprised to see her here. Normally, she stays away from such feasts, she doesn't like the looks and the whispers that come with her status as Snow, a bastard from the North. Here in the North, bastards are despised. At your home, it's different. You never had a problem with Sara being a Snow and not a Stark and love her like a sister.
You return to your seat and take another cup of wine. Quickly, you find yourself drawn back into a conversation with Lord Karstark and Lady Pole, so much so that you don't even notice how time flies. Only when you interrupt yourself for the second time in a sentence to yawn you decide that the evening is over for you now. You look around for your husband to let him know that you will be withdrawing. But you can't find him. Confused, you beckon a guard over.
"Where is my husband?"
"Lord Stark has already retired."
Without telling you? That's more than unusual. Once again, you are puzzled by his strange behavior. Nevertheless, you smile at the guard and send him back to his duties. Then you stand up and clap your hands. Immediately, the music falls silent and all attention is on you.
"I will now withdraw. I thank you all for your presence and the kindness with which you welcomed Prince Jacaerys here in Winterfell. Please, drink, dance, and continue to enjoy yourselves. I wish you a pleasant night, my Lords and Ladies."
The attendees, except for Jace, bow to you and you make your way out of the great hall. The door is not yet fully closed when the music starts again and the room is once more filled with loud voices and laughter.
You shiver slightly as the cold air surrounds you and quickly make your way back to your chambers. You are worried. Has something happened that required Cregan's attention and he left the feast because of it? Where could he be? Why didn't he let you know?
As you enter your chambers, you realize that your worry was unfounded. Your husband is already in bed. The chambers are dark, only a single candle still burns on your side of the bed. Cregan lies with his face turned away from you, his breath steady.
"Are you awake, Love?" you ask, but get no response. You quietly slip out of your dress and then into bed. The furs are cold, and you shiver again. You are used to falling asleep in Cregan's warm embrace. It takes a long time for sleep to find you.
When you wake up the next morning, the other side of the bed is empty. You stroke the furs on Cregan's side of the bed. They are already cold. You sigh. Why is he acting so strangely? Where is he? Normally, you wake up together, usually stay in bed for a while longer, cuddle and enjoy the morning together for as long as possible before your duties pull you apart.
A strange feeling spreads within you. You push it aside and swing yourself out of bed. You long for your husband. Nevertheless, you call your maid to help you get dressed and make your way to the nursery to pick up Rickon to break the fast with him.
All morning you have been busy with your duties. Rickon is sitting nearby with his nanny and plays. He keeps asking impatiently when you will finally have time for him. You promised him that today you would go with him to the prince and ask if he could pet the dragon, Vermo,or something like this.
Finally, all the important things are done, and you turn to the little Stark.
"Shall we look for the prince?"
His toys are immediately forgotten, and he runs to you. "Yes, Mother."
Cregan had allowed Rickon to call you that as long as he swore not to forget his real mother. You make sure that Rickon visits the crypt regularly. You also haven't dismissed the friends and ladies of the former Lady Stark from the household. You want to make sure that Rickon grows up with stories of his real mother, from people who truly knew her.
You drape a cloak over him before reaching for your own. For a moment, your fingertips hover over the silver buckle with the direwolf. Once again, you are overcome with longing for your husband. You haven't seen him all morning. That is also unusual. Is he so preoccupied with Jace's visit? Why doesn't he share his worries with you like he usually does?
You take Rickon by the hand and make your way to the guest chambers. There you meet Jace. He greets you with a friendly smile.
"What can I do for you?" he asks.
You gently nudge Rickon and smile encouragingly at him so that he gathers his courage. "Prince Jacaerys. I wanted to ask if I could maybe pet your dragon?" asks Rickon with red cheeks and then shyly hides behind your leg.
Jace kneels down to be at eye level with the little Stark. He smiles warmly. "Of course. Come on, Vermax will surely be happy to have visitors."
Rickon's eyes begin to shine, and he lets go of your hand to run ahead. Jace holds out his arm to you, and together you follow Rickon into the courtyard. So his name is Vermax, you weren't so far off with Vermo after all.
"Vermax hasn't been spotted by the guards. How do you know where he is?" you ask curiously. The hatred between your families has made you ignore everything there is to know about Targaryen and their dragons. That might have been a mistake.
"We share a bond. I can feel him just as he can feel me. I can call him and he will come."
The prince is right, only a few minutes after you enter the courtyard, Vermax lands in front of you.
Jace says a few Valyrian words to him, the dragon makes a whistling sound that resembles a melody before it blows smoke from its nostrils. Jace laughs happily and strokes the scaly monster. You recognize strong affection in his gaze. It surprises you. You always thought the dragons were a means to an end for the Targaryens. A weapon to oppress the people and to justify and secure their claim of power. You were obviously wrong.
Rickon jumps up and down next to you. His gaze is glued to Vermax, and he tugs at your skirt. "May I go to him?"
"Jace?" you ask a little uncertainly. The thought of the little one strokes the dragon definitely makes your stomach turn. But Rickon hasn't talked about anything else for days. You don't want to spoil his joy, so you keep your worries to yourself. The little one doesn't understand how dangerous the dragon actually is. He could easily destroy Winterfell.
Jace turns away from his dragon and reaches out his hand to Rickon.
"Come here. No need for fear."
"I am not afraid," he says, but his voice trembles slightly. Little liar, you think to yourself. Nevertheless, Rickon goes to Jace and reaches for his hand. Slowly, the two approach the dragon. Vermax seems to be completely calm, yet you are tense. A snap and Rickon could be seriously injured or even die. You would personally snap Jace's neck if he endangered the boy.
Jace says something to Rickon, he nods and slowly reaches out his hand. When his small hand touches the scales on the dragon's nose, it squeaks excitedly and he quickly pulls it back. "He feels warm." he exclaims, turning to you. His eyes sparkle with excitement and his smile is so wide and cheerful that despite your worry, you can't help but smile too. "Come on Mother, pet him too." Uncertain, you look at Jace. He nods encouragingly at you.
Slowly, you walk towards the dragon. As you stretch out your hand, it trembles slightly. Vermax whips his head around and you flinch back in shock. Rickon giggles joyfully, his fear seems to have vanished.
"May I?" asks Jace, nodding towards your hand. You hesitate for a moment but then nod. Jace reaches for your hand and gently places it on Vermax's nose. You can feel the warmth of his scales even through your glove. For a moment, you hesitate, then you stroke the dragon. Excitement floods through you and you have to laugh. You are petting a dragon. Probably the first person from House Martell to ever pet a dragon. But when Vermax lets out a growl, you quickly step back. You don't want to push your luck.
Rickon pulls on Jace's cloak. "How often do you ride him? How does it feel? Do you have a fear of heights when you fly? Is the saddle comfortable?" he bombards him with questions. Jace and you both chuckle lightly, then the prince kneels again to be at eye level with Rickon.
"I fly with him at every opportunity I get. It is incredibly fun to fly, and no, I am not afraid of heights. As for the saddle, there are more comfortable seats but I'm not complaining." he answers patiently to every question.
"Can I sit on it too?"
Jace looks at you at this question. Uncertain, you shrug your shoulders. You are not sure if Cregan would like it if his son goes this close to the dragon.
"Sure, but it's not my permission that counts."
"Please, please, Mother." Rickon begs, and at the look from his large dark eyes that he inherited from his father, you weaken.
"But only for a short moment and you do exactly what Jace tells you."
"Yes, of course." he jumps up and down excitedly before moving closer to Vermax again. Jace picks him up and approaches his dragon. He lowers his front leg slightly and lets Jace climb onto him. The dragon is completely calm, and you are glad about it.
As the two sit on the dragon's back, Jace begins to explain what all the buckles are for, how to hold the reins, and how he communicates with Vermax while flying using commands and shifting his weight.
You almost have a heart attack at the sight of Rickon on the dragon. You breathe a sigh of relief as Rickon slides down Vermax's wings after Jace's explain him how to do it. Laughing, he runs to you.
"Did you see how I rode the dragon?"
"Yes, of course. That looked really great. Like a real dragon rider," you say to him, brushing a strand of hair from his forehead.
"Do you want to try it ?" Jace asks from the dragon's back.
You quickly shake your head. "Absolutely not." you say.
Jace starts laughing again, but it's a warm laugh, the kind that's so contagious. He is not laughing at you. You laugh with him.
The prince also slides down the wing of his dragon. "Maybe another time," he says then.
"Probably not." you contradict.
"Don't be so sure, I can be very convincing." he winks at you, and you roll your eyes at his banter.
"Rickon." Cregan's voice echoes across the courtyard. You turn around immediately, hoping to finally be able to hold your husband in your arms. Cregan stands on the gallery above the courtyard and looks down at you. Even from down here, you can see his tense posture and his angry gaze. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to let Rickon sit on Vermax after all. "You have lessons."
You pause, confused. You are sure that you did not schedule any lessons for Rickon today. His teacher would not visit him again until tomorrow. But perhaps you messed up the plans with all the excitement about the prince's visit and the organization of yesterday's feast.
"Yes, Father." says Rickon quickly and takes a few steps towards the entrance before stopping and turning back to Jace once more. "Thank you for letting me pet the dragon," he says politely and bows before running inside.
You almost burst with pride for the boy when you see that your upbringing is showing. He would become a fine Lord of Winterfell, you are sure of that.
"Thank you, he hasn't talked about anything else. It's very exciting for him that you're here."
Jace smiles. "Gladly. He reminds me of my little brothers. I miss them."
You nod slightly, understanding the homesickness. "I also have to excuse myself, I have duties to attend to." you want to turn away and go to Cregan to finally have a moment alone with him.
"Please give me just one more moment."
You would prefer to refuse and run to Cregan, but politeness forbids it, so you nod and wait eagerly to see what Jace wants from you. He retrieves something from Vermax's saddle and hands you a small box. Confused, you open it, and a necklace comes into view. Pure gold is intricately crafted into suns with spears and three-headed dragons. The seals of House Martell and House Targaryen. A beautiful piece of work. Probably more expensive than most of your wardrobe.
"My mother asked me to hand this to you to remind you of the friendship between our houses."
She wants support from Dorne. She wants to buy you. It annoys you. Nevertheless, you smile.
"Please give your mother my thanks. I will cherish this friendship. But please remind them that I cannot speak for my brother and House Martell. I am a Stark."
Jace face tenses up slightly and his smile looks forced. To save the mood, you take the necklace out of the box.
"Would you help me?"
"Of course." he takes the necklace and you turn around so he can put it on you. When the necklace falls into place, you turn around again. "Thank you." you say and smile. "But I have to go now. You know, duties and that kind of stuff." you try to joke to get out of this irritating moment.
"Yes, of course."
You turn away and go inside. The necklace feels cold against your skin and is heavy. You will wear it as long as Jace visits Winterfell and then simply take it off. Of course, the necklace is beautiful, but you don't necessarily feel the need to carry House Targaryen's sigil with you. Besides, your husband has given you enough necklaces. All made of silver and with the Stark family crest. You like these necklaces a thousand times better even though they are not quite as finely crafted. They are gifts from your husband. He could give you a leather strap, and you would treat it like your greatest treasure. Just because it is a gift from Cregan.
When you arrive inside, unfortunately, you can't find your husband. Frustrated, you exhale. Maybe the Maester knows where he is. But before you can make your way to Winterfell's Maester, you are stopped by the blacksmith. He has an important matter, so you postpone the search for your husband.
Fate, however, is not kind to you, and so you are constantly pulled from one duty to another, and when you finally finish all your tasks, the sun has already set. But even now you can't give in to your need to search for your husband. Jace comes towards you.
"Can I help you?"
"Yes, to be honest. I have a letter for my fiancée Baela. Could I borrow a raven?" his cheeks turn slightly red as he holds up the scroll. The thought that the prince took the time to write a love letter in the middle of negotiations about troops for the war makes you smile.
"Of course. Come, I'll show you the way."
Hopefully this is really your last task for today. The longing for your husband is terrible. You can't remember the last time you went a whole day without talking to each other. You long to be pulled into his arms, to feel his kisses, to hear his voice.
You enter your shared chambers. You almost worry that Cregan is already asleep again, but he is sitting by the fireplace. A cup of wine in his hand. His long legs stretched out on the furs, yet his posture is tense. As the door behind you clicks shut, he turns his head towards you. His gaze is angry, his jaw tense. Your smile slips from your face.
"What happened?" you ask worriedly.
"Where were you?" he is on his feet and with two steps by you. The air around him almost pulses with his anger. Confused, you have to blink. What's going on? Worry spreads within you. You want to reach for his hand, but Cregan pulls his arm away. Surprised, you stand there.
"Where were you?" he repeats in a dark voice.
"Um, with Jace we .."
He snorts and interrupts you. A little angry, you furrow your brows. What's wrong with him?
"Jace." he says the name like an insult. "Interesting how close you are to the prince."
You almost want to laugh when you finally understand why your husband is acting so strangely. He is jealous. But with that angry look and tense posture, the laughter get stuck in your throat.
"Cregan." you begin in a gentle voice and take a step towards him. His eyes radiate anger, his whole body is tense. For others, that might seem frightening, but not for you. But again he doesn't let you finish. He looks to the side. His eyebrows are drawn together, his jaw is tense.
"You quickly became good friends. I watched you and him. At the feast and today with his dragon and Rickon."
"I'm just being friendly. Like I am with every Lord who comes to visit us." you try to be reasonable. Your voice is calm even though his unfounded jealousy and his doubts about you makes you angry. You don't understand why he has a problem with Jace.
"Not so friendly. I haven't seen you laugh like that for a long time." Now his memory is playing tricks on him.
"That's not true," you say.
"It is." your husband insists. You want to shake some sense into him. "But I can understand you. A handsome prince, of course you're interested in him. He could offer you a lot."
"Do you really think I would care about what he can offer? You give me more than I ever dreamed of. He is a prince, yes. Well, and who cares? How could I be interested in him when I have you?"
Cregan snorts again, avoids your gaze, and crosses his arms over his chest. "He gave you jewelry."
"No! His mother gave me jewelry, he is just the deliverer. The queen wants the support of the Martells, that's why."
"Nevertheless, you strut around with the necklace around your neck as if it were your most precious possession. I understand that. You are used to wearing expensive jewelry and fine gold. The North cannot offer you that."
He is so angry that he doesn't really take in your words. He doesn't want it. He is getting worked up about it. But you know your husband. You know very well that words sometimes don't get through to him. Especially not when he is angry. Cregan is a man of action, not of words. You reach for the necklace and tear it off your own neck. The clasp clinks slightly as it hits the floor, you don't care. You simply throw the necklace into the nearest corner of your chambers. A servant can have it, or it can end up in the trash. You don't care. Who cares about gold necklaces, gemstones, and jewelry?
You approach Cregan, und despite his anger and tension, you are not deterred and simply reach for his hand again. This time he doesn't flinch, but he also doesn't uncross his arms and take your hand. His eyebrows are furrowed, and you can see that his mind is working.
"I am yours and you are mine." you repeat the vow you made years ago before the Heart Tree in Winterfell's Godswood. "Always. Do you really think my love for you is that fragile?" you're almost offended.
"No." Cregan sighs. "It's just. He is a prince. The future king of the Seven Kingdoms. What can I offer you that he can't? You are a princess and you deserve a prince. Even Rickon understood that. A princess belongs to a prince."
You shake your head slightly, reach for his face, and force him to look at you. Of course, he could easily break away from you, but he doesn't.
"Cregan Stark! Who do you think I am? What are the words of my house?"
"Winter is coming," he grumbles as if to make it clear once again that you are his wife. A Stark. Still, you shake your head.
"Not those words."
"Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken"
"Exactly! And so is my love for you. Do you think I would be impressed by a little prince with a pretty smile? Do you really think I would regret my life here? Regret our family? No. This here, Winterfell, you, our marriage is all I need. I am happy here. I don't want all the frills and fuss. Who needs a prince and a ridiculous Iron Throne anyway? I love you, Cregan. You. And your boy and our home."
"Your life with him would be much more pleasant. No deprivations like here in the cold north. You could live in all the luxury you deserve. Like a real princess. Not hidden and far away from everything. I can't give you the live you deserve. No matter how much I want it."
You put a hand on his cheek. Your thumb caress him gently while you look into his eyes.
"Listen to me carefully! I don't want luxury. I don't want a Red Keep, a court, or bended knees. I want you. I love you. Only you. No one else could ever have my heart. It belongs to you. Always. Completely. I love you with my heart and soul. I could never be happier than with you. Do you understand what I'm saying? There is no reason to be jealous of a little prince."
Cregan's gaze is upon you. His eyes dart over your face. Suddenly, he leans forward and his lips crash onto yours. You are startled for a moment but then you return his kiss. The passion washes over you like a wave, your hands burying themselves in his dark hair while Cregan's hands wander to your back and he pulls you closer to him. Breathless, you pull away from each other. Cregan leans his forehead against yours, holding you tightly in his arms.
"I'm sorry. I saw you and the prince and my thoughts got the better of me. I know that I am not good enough for you. I never was, I never will be. I'm sorry, love. I just love you so much." he kisses your forehead.
You smile and bury your face in his chest, breathing in his familiar scent. Love and warmth course through you as he holds you so close.
"Never doubt yourself, my Love. As long as my heart beats, it beats for you and only for you."

Hii!
Could you possibly do a Percy Jackson smut with Percy fucking the brat out of reader, his rival? Rough sex with degrading and praise pls and ty 🫶🏼🫶🏼
A/n:This was quite an interesting request for me to write, thank you for the idea! All character have been aged up (19-20)
More than rivalry
Percy jackson masterlist | Main masterlist |
Summary: Percy gets jealous seeing you (his rival) with another boy and decides to fuck you to make sure you remember that you are his but you end up being too cocky for his liking
Warnings: smut, degradation
Pairing: Percy x daughter of Zeus! Reader
Reader pov:
I was practising my archery skills with some Apollo kids and we were actually having a lot of fun
Over the time I had spent Robert over the past few days perfecting my archery we both really grew close together
He was one of the very few people at camp who were actually friends with me for me and not because I was Zeus’s daughter.
While we were training I clumsily fell over a rock and was about to go crash into the ground but Robert caught me in time.
We stayed in the position for a little bit not knowing what to do.
We looked at each other with soft and gentle eyes, like how friends would rather than people who like each other though it seemed otherwise to most.
It was a sweet moment we both were trying to savour when a bellowing voice split us apart
“Oi thunder witch! What are you doing, let the poor guy out of his misery and do some practising on your own yea?” Yelled the voice that I really didn’t want to hear right now
Percy motherfucking Jackson
“Ocean ass how about you go bother someone else. He’s here with me at his own will for your kind information. Care more about your friends yea?” I retorted
I wanted to leave the arena as fast as possible so I bid Robert goodbye and left for my cabin
Percy pov:
Crisis averted.
I didn’t let Robert and y/n have their moment.
Why the fuck out of all the girls here does Robert have to go for y/n?
He has like a hundred girls dying for him.
Doesn’t he know she’s mine?
I know we seem like enemies but I wish to fuck like every second of the day at this point
She’s just so beautiful and that attitude damn.
I had a plan to get y/n away from every other guy, not just Robert.
Reader pov:
I was sitting in my cabin reading a book when I heard a knock on my door
That’s odd, I thought
Nobody was usually free at this hour in the evening
Everyone was too busy scheming for capture the flag except me of course
I wasn’t allowed to participate along with Percy since we were a tad bit overpowered
I walked over and opened the door and before I could figure out who it was they shoved me against the wall and started kissing me
I pushed the figure away and tried to run but they caught me
“Don’t try to run bitch. You need to be taught a lesson. Now be a good little slut and listen to what I say or the consequences will be severe for you” the figure whispered in my ear.
Then I realised who it was
Percy.
I was feeling cocky today so I decided to tease him a little
“You sure you can be intimidating and dominating seaweed brain? I don’t think you can even satisfy me forget punishing me”I replied with a smirk gracing my features
“Oh you asked for this whore. By the time I’m done with you you will be so dumb for my cock that you won’t even remember your name. Just you wait “ he said in a Husky voice which turned me on more than I would like to admit
He started removing my clothes as fast as he could and I couldn’t help but sneak in a cheeky comment
“Desperate are we?” Boy oh boy was this a bad decision
“I’m going to fuck that cocky attitude right out of you. You really just can’t keep your mouth shut can you whore?” Percy said and threw me in my bed
Undressing himself he got on the bed and made his way towards me like a predator approaching its prey
He moved my panties to the side and roughly shoved his cock inside me without any warning
“A-ah p-p-Percy that hurts sto-“ I was cut off by a slap I received
“Shut the fuck up slut. You were the one who was acting all cocky just a few minutes ago. Bitches like you don’t deserve to be cared for” Percy panted as he continued thrusting in and out
His pace was ungodly. He kept thrusting in and out of me letting my pussy drink up his cock
I felt like I was losing my mind as he hit my g-spot repeatedly completely abusing it
“O-oh fuck your pussy is tight. G-gods I’m going to come. Ah yea just like that” He whispered huskily
“I am going to cum too Percy” I told him
“No no. You don’t get to cum you little slut. You’ve been a really back whore for me. You don’t get to cum today, deal with it yourself” Percy said as he came in me
He got dressed quickly and left leaving me a panting and unsatisfied mess
Goddamit jackson.
A/n: let me know if you guys liked this fic or if you have any feedback! Requests are still on hold unfortunately but they’ll be opened soon. Kissies ✨

🥹✨Enhypen as Dads✨🥹
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fluffy, only lots and lots of suggar
Heeseung
Tumblr media
Making everyone very sad (I know we would all like to see Heeseung being a “girl dad”, I would love it too) but I see Hee being father of two boys (about 3 or 4 years apart)
I honestly think he would be so happy with that since he grew up with his brother too so he wants to provide a childhood as cool as his children was
He is 100% the type of father "don't tell your mother"
"Don't tell your mother we drank soda at dawn"
"Don't tell your mother we stayed up playing video games until 4 in the morning"
"Don't tell your mother I took you to Burger King after school"
Etc etc
I also can see you scolding your son and he saying "hey honey but he didn't do anything wrong" and you just look at him and automatically he turns around and says “VERY BAD KID THIS IS VERY VERY BAD”
What can he do???? He's the good cop
I think Hee would be the kind of father who would be very supportive of his children, especially if they want to pursue a career in music, but I think he would be very wise to tell his children that it's a very exhausting life and full of very complicated obstacles
His oldest son is definitely his best friend (he lives to make this boy feel proud of him)
His youngest son is his baby
As Heeseung is the youngest children in his family I think he sees himself in his baby boy so is that the reason why he’s always very emotional about the youngest
He wants to be the cool and laid-back father to his youngest son while he wants to be the loyal friend of his oldest
I can really imagine him taking his oldest son for a drive at night to clear his head
Speaking of cars, these 3 always go on a fishing trip every month IT'S A TRADITION
His youngest son doesn't like fishing that much but he loves spending time with his father and brother so he goes anyway🥹
His children always come back covered in mosquito bites because Heeseung always forgets his insect repellent home, but they come back smiling and happy so it doesn't matter.
Jay
Tumblr media
Ok, let's go
Jay is a couple father, DOES EVERYONE AGREE?????
He has an older daughter, who he raised with all the love, affection, care and protection and will always take care of her because she is his princess.
And he has a younger son that is his best bro forever (maybe 6 years between the children?)
I imagine that his daughter must have been so jealous of her brother when he was born
I can see them at 16 and 10 years old, having a Disney Chanel sibling dynamic, who live to make each other's lives hell, are fighting 100% of the time but deep down love each other deeply
He and his youngest son are quite a duo
They have a garage band together🥹🫶🏼
Jay taught him to play guitar but the boy's passion is the drums
I imagine that he is much closer to his older daughter, but he doesn't know how to deal very well with his daughter growing up and no longer depending on him.
So he spends all the time he can with his youngest because when the youngest grows up it's over for him
Jay loves to keep his kids entertained so he would be up for anything
“Daddy, are we going to the Taylor Swift concert?”
“Sure, my love.”
“Daddy, can we go to the skate park?”
“We’ll leave in a few minutes, okay? Just let daddy finish this first”
Btw, he supports everything his children want to do
I swear his children have already taken every course and private lesson that exists on the earth
Jay will enroll them in and out of anything they want
Because he wants his children to be happy and he grew up with a family that gave him so much support that I believe he will do the same
Btw, the family tradition is take the childrens to see baseball games
In fact, Jay had a huge existential crisis when his daughter started not wanting to go to the games🥹
He started remembering her when she was little with a t-shirt and a cap that was too big for her, sitting on his shoulders and watching the game🥹🥹🥹🥹
Poor man, he collapsed
Jake
Tumblr media
I imagine him being such a calm and relaxed father, you know?
I think he would be such a relaxed father.
His relationship with his children is based on trust, affection and love 100% of the time.
I don't think he smothers his children or wants to be with them 100% of the time.
Of course he is a present father, but I think he respects his children's time a lot.
But let’s go, he has 3 children.
2 older boys and a younger girl (about 2 years apart from each child?)
Oh, how this man was in heaven when these children were born.
Jake loves being a father, I think he considers it his favorite profession.
And he is simply so delicate with his children, his tone of voice is always soft and loving, he touches them as if they were made of porcelain.
He loves taking them to the park, riding his bike with them and stopping for ice cream afterwards, or taking them to the pool, spending the whole day at the water park and then stopping at the McDonald’s🥹🥹🥹🥹
God, he loves his little 4-year-old girl, he’s an idiot for her (she gets whatever she wants, he’s her personal butler)
You see him walking around with weird hairstyles and stickers on his face quite often (he’s a regular at the 4pm tea party with his daughter and her bunny every Wednesday)
But he’s so incredibly in love with his 8 and 6-year-old boys
I can imagine them playing with lots of Hot Wheels tracks lol (and Jake taking it so seriously)
They build a lot of Lego together too, God, his kids have BOXES AND BOXES of Lego of every possible and imaginable type
He’s the kind of father who dances with his daughter dressed as a prince and gives her flowers so she gets used to receiving love early on so he doesn’t worry about future relationships
At the same time, he’s an example of such a good man for your children
Your children are so in love with your relationship🥹♥️
I imagine the 3 of you being so close, they are brothers who truly love each other unconditionally because the only reference they have is love, love and more love♥️😭
Sunghoon
Tumblr media
OKAY LISTEN…
Two girls
NOBODY WILL PROVE ME OTHERWISE
He has two girls who are about 3 years apart from each other
His oldest is like “🎀✨💕DADDYS GIRL💕✨🎀” and his youngest is more like “💋✨⛸️DADDYS GIRL⛸️✨💋” if you can understand me
Like the oldest is more “Daddy, can I use your card??? I need a new dress” and the youngest is more “Dad, I told you! You don’t have to buy me anything”
BTW
He is absolutely in love with them to an extreme level
They are his world, after they were born nothing else matters more to him than the happiness of his two little girls
He is a REALLY OVERPROTECTIVE FATHER
like really
He can’t be able to sleep if he knows that your girls are on a party or on a date
He just CAN’T
And you’re like “babe, cmon, let’s rest a little” and he will be like “I can’t sleep, y/d must call anytime”
Something he miss when the girls are little babies…
When they were little they cried for him to put them to sleep and sing to them😭♥️
And now his princess wanna buy short skirts and dance all night😭💔
His youngest really like to skating so they do it together sometimes
These two girls are the pinnacle of what a doting and protective father can do with a girl
But like I said he is protective
The day you came to him saying he was so cute like your oldest daughter had a boyfriend in kindergarten….
He went to the school to have a serious talk with a 5-year-old boy and his parents
Even today, more than 10 years later, he still has a grudge against the poor child who just held his little girl's hand
I can imagine your daughter going to say that she has something important to talk about and him saying "did you find out you're a lesbian and are you going to get rid of that idiot?😃"
and your daughter saying "no daddy" and he would reply with "are you absolutely sure you're not a lesbian?😃"
You think Jay would spoil his children but nothing is as good for the economy as Park Sunghoon, his daughters and his black card at the mall
You know that scene from Beverly Hills where the father asks what his daughter is wearing and she answers "Calvin Clain"
They have this energy
He takes them and picks them up from everywhere because he doesn't like his princesses to walk around alone and he doesn't want boys bringing home
Nothing in the world would break his heart more than seeing his daughters cry. He always makes a point of buying their favorite foods, giving them a cuddle and leaving a kiss on their heads when they are crying.
Now if it is because of some boy... God have mercy and may he not find out the address of that boy
Sunoo
Tumblr media
He has two girls too, but they are twins.
He is over the moon with them.
Do you agree with me that they would wear matching outfits????😭😭😭😭
He knows ALL the Disney princess songs
ALL OF THEM.
He would be his daughters' best friend 100%. He gives his daughters a lot of space to talk to him about absolutely anything and everything, he is always very present and aware of everything that happens in the lives of his little gems.
One of them is really extroverted and shining just like him and the other is like “omg you two are making me feel embarrassed please stop”
But he is also very protective of them.
Not like Sunghoon, of course.
Dad Sunoo is like a mother lioness, he protects his children tooth and nail no matter what.
(Like the “PELA CRIANÇA EU DOU A MINHA VIDA GRAÇAS A DEUS!!!” meme)
If this man finds out that one of his daughters is being bullied at school... I feel so sorry for the principal of that institution because he will DESTROY her.
He also watches a lot of movies with his daughters, when he gets home from work and his girls have already come home from school, it's always the perfect time to order food and watch Korean dramas together
He would always be available for serious, intimate, or everyday conversations
I think he would be such an attentive father🥹🥹🥹 but at the same time he would have no patience at all
He seems to me like the kind of father who when his kid makes a fuss he leaves the child on the floor of the store crying, walks away and pretends he doesn't know her
I imagine him being very truly with his daughters too, like "are you going out like that? With those clothes???? No, you can't change that, it's not good, you're dressing like Sponge Bob"
He would be their safe place too
I can see him comforting them when they were crying about something, like them lying on his lap while he caresses them and says "it's okay, love, it'll pass, I already have your age too, it'll pass"
Jungwon
Tumblr media
He has a son, a little boy
You are thinking about having another one, but he is always analyzing how you have such a comfortable life with only one child and that a second child would require you to give up some privileges, etc.
Obviously he would be up for more children if you wanted, he catches himself thinking about another baby often, but he always brings up this conversation at some point
But anyway, your little boy is around 5/6 years old????
I feel like Won is in a limbo between “being the cool dad” and “being the example of a responsible man that his son needs”
He demands a lot of himself as a father
whenever he gets home and sees that his son is already in bed sleeping and he didn't get him “good night kisses” he feels terrible😔😔😔 (I think you will have to reassure him several times a day that he is doing an excellent job)
I can imagine him like this:
“What's up, son? Boys' day today, huh? Let's go to the park, the movies, and then have ribs for dinner, what do you think????”
“What's up, buddy? How was school today?”
And your son LOOOOOOOVES HIM
Like that type of kids that say “MY DAD IS MY SUPERHERO” is really cute
Doesn’t help the fact that this kid has his father kitty bubble tea eyes😭✨
But he’s really shy when hes not with you or Jungwon, like, your two are his best friends.
Jungwon is such a fun father🥹
Even if he comes home feeling sad, limping, anemic, fragile and inconsistent, he will take time to play with your son and this will charge his energy 100%.
Just like Jake, Won is the kind of father who lets his son do whatever he wants with him.
His son will stick stickers on his face, draw a mustache and a goatee with a marker, etc., etc., and he will stand there laughing at how cute his son is.
He loves taking naps with your son (he even went through a difficult time when your son stopped being afraid of sleeping alone and asked to sleep with you every night).
I think he would be such a responsible father. He would know how to say no to his child when necessary and would teach that there is a time and place for everything and that we should be polite and patient. 🥹♥️
Riki
Tumblr media
Just like Won, I imagine that Kiki has 2 father skins: the fun-child father with a 4-year-old mentality and the extremely mature father who is aware of his activities as a father.
He fluctuates a lot between these two.
He is extremely responsible when it comes to his children, he can handle any situation on his own without any problems.
Btw, I can see him having a family just like his own (two girls and a middle boy🥹). They are like 10, 8 and 5 years old. 🥹🥹🥹
He and the older ones do so much messy together that I swear to God I don't know how your house is still standing.
They play a lot of running games until Kiki stops and says "Aaaaaah daddy's back isn't the same anymore."
Like I said, his older ones brought out his fun and agitated side, but his youngest is so calm and sweet that he can't be the childish father with her, he just wants to protect her from everything
(he also joins the team of daddys who let their little daughter do whatever she wants with him) this girl is almost always riding on her father's shoulders😭♥️
He is the biggest fan of his children, he is there for everything his children want to do
I can see his children so interested in his “idol” career and always with stars in their eyes when they see videos of enhypen's performances
But unlike Heeseung, I think Riki would be reluctant to let his children enter the world of stardom, especially young ones like him, I think he wouldn't want his children to go through as much as he did and he would be far away and imposing to do something...
His favorite pastime is taking his children to Disney, I swear to God they are at Tokyo Disney almost every weekend
I like to think he likes to hold his two oldest ones by the feet while his youngest is on his back and playing mechanical bull AJAKAKAKAKAKA
His kids feel so comfortable talking to him (he's not a very jealous dad either)
I also think that there’s moments that Riki just stops, look at his kids and says “wow” like “they’re real, I made them”
And I think he’s the “what your mom thinks about that?” Type of dad, like “bro, you know that mommy is the leader of this family go ask her”

Foreign Exchanges. (Anthony Vaughn x Reader.)
Tumblr media
Summary: Moving school in the middle of the year is never easy. Let alone from an entirely different country. Despite Y/N trying to garner the least amount of attention possible, she still manages to catch the eye of a certain brunette.
Word Count: 1.5k
Gif Not Mine . Requests are open!
Warnings: Mature language.
A/N: My first Ant fic and I’m debating making this a series but you’ll have to let me know what you think! Anyway just a short one to start us off but there’ll be more soon. Don’t forget requests are open!
“I’d like you all to offer a warm welcome to our new student Y/N Y/L/N, she’s moved here all the way from the UK! So let’s show her some of that Hartley spirit.” The teacher, who introduced herself as Jojo, announces to the class. All of them staring at me with blank stares. “Go ahead and say a few words.”
She nudges my shoulder gently before I can decline the offer. Encouraging smile on her face. There are no smiles from my classmates however, only bored faces who couldn’t be less interested in my arrival. For which I’m grateful. I’d seen this school on the news prior to my enrolment, I know these students are brutal. I mean, a sex map? Dad wasn’t too happy about sending me here though he didn’t really have a choice, no other schools were admitting students this late into the term.
“Um hi, I’m Y/N. It’s good to be here I guess.”
“Does anybody have any questions for Y/N?” Jojo offers, attempting to find a way for the class to get to me.
Numerous hands raise and I let out a groan internally. It’s bad enough that I’m stood at the front of the classroom like a new shiny toy but to now be subject to whatever ridiculous questions these teens can come up with is a new form of torture. One that I am really not looking forward to.
Jojo points to her first student, allowing them to be the first to ask. “Why don’t you have a proper British accent?” The girl seems genuinely curious, eyes focused on me as she combs her fingers through her orange hair. Stickers adorn her face along with colourful eyeshadow to match her bright outfit. She has a gentle aura surrounding her, which makes me relieved as I realise her question wasn’t meant in malice and more so pure interest. Maybe these kids won’t be so bad?
“Um, I think the accent you’re think of is the Queen’s English. There isn’t many people that talk like that really, maybe a few down south but I grew up in the North East. None of us talk posh.” I tell her, watching as she seems to take notes as I speak.
“Thank you Quinni, Spider what about you?” Jojo asks, pointing to the tall blonde that is hunched over at the back of the class.
His eyes flicker up to me, giving me the once over though he doesn’t seem too impressed by my presence.
“Yeah, what is it with you and all the other poms having bad teeth?” The boy pipes up, I notice the two boys next to him laugh. Though the one in the baggy outfit makes eye contact with me and a flash of guilt appears on his face.
“I don’t have bad teeth actually. Nobody I know does and to be perfectly honest, that stereotype is deeply rooted in classism and while the UK faces a major cost of living and wealth gap crisis, I don’t think it’s funny to joke about things like that. Do you?” I retort, causing h the pink haired girl and her friend to applaud my mini speech. Both offering cheers.
“Okay any more questions that aren’t going to cause arguments?” Jojo asks, a few hands lowering as they don’t want to get in trouble. “Yes, Amerie?”
“Do you miss home?”
“Yeah, yeah I really miss it.” I start, thinking of everything that I had to leave behind. I know this was the best decision for my family, but I do hold a slight resentment towards being here. “Don’t get me wrong, Sydney’s great and all, but I miss my friends, my house, my pets, I even miss the shitty pub from down the street.”
“Thank you Y/N, I feel like we’ve got to know you a little bit more now, so feel free to take a seat and we’ll get started.”
The only open seat is next to the girl that Jojo called Amerie. Smiling as I take my place, I open my notebook and begin to doodle swirls and other patterns across the page. Focusing on that rather than the subject being taught. It’s some form of sex education by the sounds of it. However, it seems very outdated and heteronormative. Nothing worth listening to anyway.
Upon hearing the bell ring, I begin to pack away my things and watch as a few students mutter things towards Amerie. “Map bitch.” “Cunt.” and “Crazy bitch.” Just to name a few. I realise that may be the reason she had nobody sat next to her and figure it may be best to avoid her if I want to stay under everybody’s radar.
Finding my locker, I begin to turn the lock with great difficulty. Back home, the numbers simply connect and the door clicks open, that doesn’t seem to be the case here though. Fiddling with the dial, I hear the bell signal the beginning of the next class and I huff, annoyed that I’m having this much trouble with a stupid locker.
As the hallways clears out, I continue to twist and pull at the lock. Bag dumped on the floor as I try with all my strength to pry the door open. With no such luck, I throw a quick kick to the locker beneath mine, leaving a dent in the door slightly. Slumping with my back again the metal, I find myself face to face with the boy in the baggy outfit.
Not previously noticing how cute he was, dark hair hidden beneath a beanie, a couple of curls escaping. Boyish grin plastered across his face and piercing brown eyes staring directly at me. I won’t even try to deny that Australia has one up on the Uk in terms of boys, they’re just so much cuter over here.
“What did the locker do to you?” He jokes, taking the slip of paper with the locker code out of my hand.
“Bloody thing won’t open.” I mumble, stepping out of the way as he demonstrates how to open it with ease. My cheeks tinged pink as I fear my outburst may have been unnecessary.
“I thought you Brits were supposed to be good at containing your emotions anyway.” He leans against the locker beside mine, watching me as I stuff countless books into the small space. Normally this would make me uncomfortable, yet there’s there’s something about him that makes me feel warm and calm.
“Nah we love our fair share of violence.” I tell him, smiling as I do so, remembering the amount of fights that used to take place on my estate daily. Providing free entertainment for all the neighbours. “We’re polite, but piss us off and we’ll knock you into next week.”
He laughs, folding his arms across his chest as I close the locker door. His eyes gaze over me as I turn to face him properly. Noticing the small cross necklace hanging from his neck, I can’t help but imagine what it would look like against his bare skin.
“You religious?” I ask, nodding towards the chain.
“Nah, I’m Ant.” He brushes off my question and tucks the necklace beneath his shirt. Clearly a touchy subject that perhaps I shouldn’t have brought up. So instead I attempt to lighten the mood.
“Ant?” The word escapes my mouth as a slight giggle, unable to hide the amusement his name brings. “And your mate’s called Spider?”
“Yeah, stupid right?” He chuckles, playing with the straps of his bag. Almost as if he’s nervous. “We’ve been best mates our entire lives. My real name’s Anthony but nobody calls me that. Same with Spider, his name’s Spencer. Kids started to call us Ant and Spider when we were like six, guess it just stuck.”
“That’s cute.”
Picking up my bag, I throw it over my shoulder. Figuring I should probably head to my next class despite being extremely late already.
“Hey, about Spider.” Ant reaches for my arm, clearly sensing that I’m about to leave. “I just wanted to apologise, he can be a bit of a dick but he’s a nice guy deep down.”
My arm tingles where he’s touching it, feeling the slightest of move of his fingers. As though my nerves are on fire. Suddenly hypersensitive to any little movement he makes. I know I shouldn’t be feeling things this intensely, hell, I’ve just met the guy. Yet he sparks an excitement in me that I haven’t felt in a while.
“Honestly it’s sound. You don’t need to apologise.” I assure him, offering a smile, I see his shoulders relax. “I can handle a prick like him any day.”
“Yeah you certainly shot him down quick.”
As he removes his hand from my arm, I’m quick to begin walking away. Cheesy grin on my face as I recall the interaction in my head despite it only happening seconds ago. I feel dizzy with excitement, my feet feel like they’re walking on clouds and I almost miss the shout from behind me as I go to turn the corner.
“Hey, do you wanna get high?”

Okay hear me out: Sky and Sun started the royal bloodline, yes? So what if Groose got married too eventually, and his kid started a ranch. The kid had a son named Talon, who named his daughter Malon. They met Four.
A few generations later, someone named their kid after good ol' Talon, and he named his daughter Malon as well. She married Time. They had kids and Twillight happened.
But in the downfall timeline, another Lon had a son, who had another kid, and generations later there was a Lon who fell in love with the princess. They got married and had twins, a boy and a girl. But since Hyrule isnt supposed to have princes, the son was given to his father's brother, a loyal knight.
The boy then grew up to be the hero of Legend, not knowing his parentage until being told by one of the golden godesses.
He then meets the chain, realizes he is related to Sky, and pretends like he is not a prince because Warriors would tease him so much, and because Sky already is a mother cucoo, and he doesnt need more of that. Then he meets Malon and both him and Twillight have a crisis.
Later, the princess, now nicknamed Fable, has a kid, who then has two kids. One of which ends up asleep for 100 years, before being saved by a half fairy named Link. The same as her great uncle.
Add onto that Wild being Twillights decendant, Wind being related to an alternate version of Marin, and Warriors somehow being related to Legend for extra emotional damage and you're good to go

The party—gala, more like—was in full swing. Violins swelled and a piano forted, and somewhere out of your sight was a woman singing opera. The music would have been lovely had you been anywhere else, but here you are.
At a Marine Gala of all places. You heaved a heavy sigh, sipping at your champagne as you forced a smile, pushing back your shoulders.
The heavy gaze of your father rested on you from across the ballroom, worry lining his face at the thought that you might do something to disgrace your family name. That thought had never been more tempting, but you were nothing if not calm and collected.
So you busied yourself with being a wallflower, dwelling in the itchy fabric of your outfit. It was nice, you gave it that, a rich blue color you might have picked for yourself if you had the option, which you hadn’t. Your father chose this outfit, like he made most of your decisions these days.
He didn’t think Koby was a good influence? He had you transferred to another ship. He didn’t think you were ready for that promotion? He told your superiors just that. You hated him. You wanted to end him. You smiled at him from across the room as he raised a glass in your direction, speaking to Vice Admiral Garp in a low tone.
You downed your glass and wiped your chin, resting your eyes for a moment. Your father had risen to the rank of commodore recently, which had been a major boost to his ego. You’d been feeling the brunt of it for weeks. But maybe, things were about to change. This party was for you, after all.
The partygoers grew sparse for a moment, and as if light were shining down in a heavenly glow, there was Koby, his eyes scanning the room as he rose on his tiptoes. A wide smile split onto your face, and not even Helmeppo bobbing up behind Koby could sway it.
Uncaring of your father or proper etiquette anymore, you waved wildly and called, “Koby!”
A few strangers cast you dark looks as Koby’s bright eyes found yours. He all but raced in your direction, speed walking across the floor to maintain some level of poise. He nearly hugged you, nearly spun you around he was so happy, but settled on taking your hand and shaking it firmly.
You returned the gesture with a roll of your eyes. “Pleasure to see you, Captain Koby.”
“The pleasures all mine, for certain,” he answered, barely able to keep the mirth out of his tone and eyes.
Helmeppo caught up to his friend, looking from you to Koby before doing a double take. A little grin slid onto his lips. “Oh, Commander.”
You nearly replied when Koby swatted his arm and gestured to the medal pinned over your heart. “Captain, remember? We’re at their promotion gala.”
“It’s not just my gala,” you said, shuffling your feet. “There’s others promoted too… And don’t call me Captain.”
Koby’s eyes darkened slightly, his gaze flickering all over your face. He was disappointed to find that even more light had left your eyes since last he saw you. This world was draining you of everything beautiful about you, and he feared the day the proud yet haunted cadet he’d met swabbing the decks all those years ago would be gone for good.
“Helmeppo,” Koby said distantly. “Can you get me a glass of wine?”
Instantly the boy perked up and clapped a hand on his friend's shoulder, muttering something as he went off in search of a drink. You watched him go, tired eyes fluttering, and as soon as Helmeppo was out of sight Koby set a hand on your shoulder and began to usher you deeper into the crowds of people, well out of your father’s line of sight. “Koby—?”
“You look miserable,” he drawled, squeezing your shoulder. “C’mon. Let’s get outta here.”
“I…” You thought of several reasons why, like the consequences if your father found out, or maybe being mugged on the streets, before you grew sick and tired of this awful anxiety you’d been dealing with for years.
Letting out a determined huff, you nodded, allowing a smile to show. “Okay.”
જ⁀➴
A laugh ripped out of you at some awful joke Koby made as you walked through the night chill, heart light and shoulders relieved of that weary weight usually stacked on them. Koby bumped your shoulder. “You feelin’ better?”
You nodded despite yourself. “Yeah. A bit.”
The truth was, you never were better. You’d perfected the art of going numb, ignoring the ache of regret always looming in the back of your mind. But then, just some months ago, you’d seen stupid Red Hair Shanks, and he planted all these thoughts in your head. Just like he planted them in Luffy’s.
Your steps faltered, face falling, and you came to a halt to turn out to the sea on your left. The boardwalk of the city dropped off into deep blue waters splashing up against it. You shivered, wrapping your arms around yourself as Koby noticed you’d stopped.
He slowly inched up beside you, following you gaze. “What is it?”
You fiddled with the medal pinned to your clothes, a symbol of your new position among the Marines. “Do you think I’m a good person?”
The question caught him off guard. “Uhm, yes? I mean, of course I do.” He ducked to catch your gaze, growing increasingly worried when you simply closed your eyes. “What’s wrong?”
You hung your head and chewed at your bottom lip. “I… I’m tired, Koby.”
The bags under your eyes were evident, and so Koby nodded. “We can head back to base. I’ll tell your dad you’re sick—”
“Not just physically,” you choked out. Eyes pressed shut, you hissed out a sigh. “Mentally. I’m so tired of—of this.” You gripped your medal and ripped it off your chest, tearing a hole in your outfit. “I didn’t think I’d get this far. Now, I’m a captain. As a captain, I’m in charge of so many more people. So many more people will see me as this—awful thing that I’ve become.”
“Woah, hey.” Koby reached to take the medal from your vice grip, but you weren’t done, jerking away from him and looking right at him, eyes ablaze with years and years of thoughts better left unsaid.
“You know I never wanted this,” you nearly whispered. Your hands shook around the cold metal. “Koby… what if I can’t get out?”
For the longest time, all he did was stare at you, eyes slightly wide, and you feared you’d crossed a line. Regret pooled in your eyes as tears swelled at the corners. You half wished to return to the party, allow your father to berate you for disappearing, and continue a horrid night with your only friend angry with you.
Koby turned suddenly, expression unchanging, and trudged down the boardwalk, toward a row of buildings overlooking the sea. Hesitant, you followed, running your thumb over the back of your medal.
His pace slowed to allow you to catch up and walk beside him, your eyes stuck to the ground as you let him lead you blindly into the light of a hanging street lamp. You glanced up, gut going cold as you met eyes with Monkey D. Luffy.
You’d seen his wanted poster so many times you’d found every little detail you could, yet you still jumped out of your skin every time.
Instantly, a burn welled up in your chest, fists tight at your sides. “Why…”
“You love him, right?” Koby asked.
Dazedly, you scoffed, lost in the poster. “What kind of question is that?”
“He feels the same,” said Koby, watching you gaze at Luffy’s picture like one might gaze upon a magnificent fresco.
“You think so?” you wondered.
“I know so,” he replied with certainty.
Swallowing your tears, your eyes wandered around the wall in front of you, scanning over the several other wanted posters pinned up. Luffy’s crewmates took up much of the space, each looking so brave and fierce. Even Shanks’ poster was there, though slightly faded.
Luffy. Shanks. Even Koby. They all had something in common: that brave fire you’d always been too fearful to ignite.
Your fists started to shake. If courage was a fire, then you were a pile of wet logs, desperate for some kindling. Eyes flickering back to Luffy’s wide smile, plastered up on this wall, illuminated by lamplight, you forced down the taut coil in your gut, and exhaled.
As your eyes fell closed, every crashing wave and calling bird fell silent. You barely even heard yourself breathe. Love. You loved him. You craved to see him. A thought hit you so sharply, you didn’t believe it was your own: did you love him enough to do something reckless?
The tether tight on your soul quivered, sending shockwaves across the sea and right to the heart of a boy made of laughter. His laugh grew brighter till you swore he was right beside you, but as you opened your eyes, there was only Koby, staring at you with some concern.
“Y/N?” he spoke tentatively, causing you to force down a thick swallow.
Breathing uneven, you blinked widely at him. Yes, you answered the question. Go, it replied. “I can’t stay,” you said so quietly Koby almost didn't catch it.
But he knew. He understood. Koby reached for your hand, taking the shiny Captain’s medal from your enclosed fist, and glanced out at the ocean. When he placed the medal back in your hand, you moved instantly, rushing at the water and hurling the medal far into its arms. The splash was too far away to hear, but you felt the medal sink into the depths as another of the binds tying you down snapped.
Your blood rushed in your ears, that same exhilaration from when you’d chased down Shanks some months ago. This time though—you heaved a hefty breath, shock written all over your face—this time you were taking the first chance you got.
A laugh was dragged out of you as you raked your hands through your hair, finding Koby behind you when you whirled around. “Shit… my dad’s gonna kill me.”
Yet, the thought didn’t hold much power when you considered that Luffy used to promise he would take you far, far away from that man. Maybe… maybe you could take yourself away. To Luffy. Hopefully, he would recognize you after all this time.
And when you raisec your gaze to Koby, he was smiling, eyes squinted as he reached to grab your shoulders and tug you into him. Your arms wrapped tight around his middle, and he hugged you all the more tighter, his hand finding the back of your head. “I’ll miss you.”
“I’ll miss you more,” you murmured, dragging a watery chuckle from him.
“It’s not a competition.”
Jerking back, you scrutinized his face, swearing you would never forget him as long as you lived. Perhaps you’d see him again some day, long down the road, when he’s some big shot marine and you’re—well, you’re a pirate.
It had always been Luffy’s dream, his calling. For the longest time you had no clue if you had a dream of your own; you had one now. I’ll be brave, and Luffy will be proud. I’ll be proud. You wanted so dearly to be proud of yourself for once.
“Here.” Koby shoved a pouch of money into your hand. “Take this. Ask around for a way off the island. Y’should ditch the fancy clothes too.”
Nodding, you glanced down at your attire, deciding you’d snatch something off a clothes line and leave some beri on a windowsill. “What about you? You know my dad will suspect something.”
Koby simply shrugged it off, sporting a grin. “I’ve been with Helmeppo all night. No idea where you ran off to all of a sudden.”
Suddenly out of breath, you flattened your shaky hands against your sides, beaming up at him. This is it. My second chance. So many years of wishing and hiding had led you here. No more running, you decided.
“Tell him I said hi,” Koby murmured. He turned to look back down the street, where far off out of sight the marine gala went on through the night, unaware a deserter was gathering their nerve. “Go now. Get off the island before sunrise.”
You nodded, and despite the cold chill running all over your skin, you shoved out your hand to shake Koby’s, chin quivering. “Goodbye, Captain.”
His smile faltered, his eyes glassy as he shook your hand firmly. “See you, Y/N.”
The moment he retracted his hand you set one foot in front of the other, holding your breath as your fists closed around your pant legs. You didn’t dare to look back even once all the way through the city. Finding clothes wasn’t too much of an issue; you found a clothesline running between two buildings fairly easy, swiping what looked like a mens shirt and a pair of work pants. You snabbed a hat for good measure, and left a handful of beri in your wake.
Down to the docks you rushed, setting eyes on a quartet loading crates onto a small ship nearly the twin of the one Luffy had left Dawn Village on. You were gone before the sun ever rose above the horizon, and Koby was none the wiser as to where you had gone, and he told your livid father just that, all while Helmeppo swore up and down they lost track of you at some point during the night.
Free of your uniform, free of your title, free of your father—free of it all, you stood on the deck of that little ship, doing what you could to help, your smile unrelenting against the wind whipping against your face.
“What’re you smiling about?” asked the young son of the merchant who owned the ship.
You gave him some stupid answer about the sunrise being pretty, which it was, but you didn’t feel like explaining the euphoria you never thought you’d ever get to feel firsthand.
Luffy once tried to explain the feeling the sea gave, how he got so thrilled by the adventure being a pirate would bring. You never understood, simply nodding along to whatever he said, because he looked pretty when he smiled like that.
But you could feel it now. Deep in your chest danced a mix of nausea and excitement and dread all at once, but none of that mattered when the salt spray made your hair damp. You understood him now, and you couldn’t wait to tell him so.
You only had to find him now.
જ⁀➴
Luffy had been thinking for a while now, and it had his friends a bit worried.
Thinking about food, and the one piece, and the usual things he thought about—but mostly you. He’d been wondering a lot about when he’d find you again, and if he’d ever have the chance to get you back. So much time had passed, his grand adventure getting in the way of tracking you down, if he even could.
And sometimes, on odd days, he also wondered—what if you didn’t want to come home? That question was daunting, leaving him in a daze for a whole evening. It couldn’t be true. How could you ever want to stay there, wherever you were?
Surely, surely, you wanted to find him as much as he wanted to find you. Luffy longed to stand beside you as the sun longed to stand aside the moon. He ached to hold you close and never let you go, like he should have all that time ago.
Luffy knew you—probably better than you knew yourself. You’d done something heroic that day on the beach, dragging his grandpa down with you. But maybe… maybe if he’d done a better job at chasing away your fears, then you’d be with him now.
He hardly noticed when Robin sat beside him at the kitchen table, only blinking awake from his reverie when her shoulder pressed against his. “Luffy?”
He grinned. “What’s up?”
She shrugged. “Nothing. Just bored.” Her eyes found the sheet of paper lying before her captain, specifically the crudely drawn picture scrawled across it. “Uhm… what’s that supposed to be?”
Luffy’s eyes brightened and a smile split onto his face. “Oh!” He shoved the drawing in Robin’s direction. “Ya like it?”
Nodding, Robin wagered he’d drawn something between a stork and a windmill. “Mhmm. I like the… dynamics. What is it exactly?”
Nami walked by, mumbling reminders for the day under her breath, and she turned to smile at the pair, catching sight of the drawing. “That’s a nice drawing of Y/N, Luffy.”
“Thanks!” he beamed at her.
Robin watched a giggling Nami leave, slowly returning his gaze to Luffy. “Who’s Y/N?”
As if he needed a reminder of why he’d been upset. Luffy’s face threatened to fall before he pulled himself together and smirked. “A marine. A special marine.” His eyes settled on the drawing. “My marine.”
No further explanation provided itself, but Robin almost didn’t need one; the way Luffy’s entire being softened at the name revealed just enough. All afternoon she inquired about this marine, hearing stories from Luffy’s past that all included the missing person.
“Where are they now?” she asked when he was done, and he tilted his head. “The marine. Where are they?”
“Oh, I dunno,” Luffy shrugged as he added a few more details to his drawing. “That’s the problem, I guess.”
Robin poked his shoulder. “You don’t have a lead?”
Luffy shrugged. “Nope. Just that they’re with the marines. I always figured they’d give me a sign when they’re ready to be found.”
Though she hardly understood that logic, Robin nodded as she set a hand on his shoulder and took her leave. Luffy examined his drawing, letting out a near-depressing sigh, and wished beyond wishing that you’d send him a sign soon.
The truth of the matter was, Luffy had tried to track you down. He’d interrogated each marine he came across, getting tidbits of information about the notoriously cold Commander Y/N. But whenever he thought he’d come this close, you slipped through his fingers, always a few steps out of reach. Like you didn’t want him to catch you.
Let me find you, he begged, and the very last of the tether tying you to land broke in two, throwing you head first into the life the sea had raged for you. Haha!
Luffy jerked around, swearing he’d heard… something. But he was all alone, everyone off to their own devices. He shook out his shoulders, but nothing could rid him of the goosebumps.

You’d been somewhat well-known within the marines, but as a deserter? You were something of a celebrity.
Sure, hiding your face everywhere you went was tasking, but at least you looked nice in your wanted poster. You liked to think Koby had chosen the picture used, doing you yet another favor even as you ran for your life.
And your poster didn’t go unnoticed by any means. Nobles who’d crossed your path, fellow marines you hadn’t seen in years, they all gasped at the sight of your poster being added to their roster. A few in particular were rather noteworthy…
Nia, far too sweet for such a world (one wonders why she’s a marine), stood frozen for five whole minutes when she saw it, not sure whether to be horrified or giddy you’d finally done something about the forlorn look in your eyes. She balled up her fists, and wondered what freedom tasted like.
Vice Admiral Garp himself laughed so hard he nearly fell off his desk chair, startling the poor cadet instructed to take the poster to him. He swiped up the paper and wiped at a tear, positively thrilled. “Finally! The coward’s grown up!”
Red Hair Shanks, so tipsy he nearly missed it, before Beckman gripped his shoulder and smiled so big his cigarette nearly fell from his teeth. Shanks ripped the poster off the wall, admiring the number on your head. “Well I’ll be… They did it.”
And Monkey D. Luffy, wandering a port town with Nami’s hand on his shoulder to keep him from running off. Unsuspecting Luffy, griping that he didn’t need an escort.
Nami tightened her hold, steering him through the crowd of shoppers. “Listen, this is supposed to be a quick supply run. I can’t take any chances.”
“Nami,” he drawled, rolling his eyes. “You’re hurtin’ me! Let go. I promise I won’t get distracted.”
She shot him a skeptical glare, assessed his innocent smile, and scoffed. “Fine. But I swear—”
She released him, leading the way to a bread stall. His eyes roamed over the busy market place, the scent of fresh flowers mixing with grilled foods. Some little kids played a game with a ball in an alley they passed, and two seagulls fought over scraps on the corner. A normal little town, full of life by the look of it.
“Oof!” Luffy ran right into Nami’s back, stumbling as he righted himself. He cast her a glower, huffing, “Now who’s sidetracked. This is a quick supply run, Nami—”
“Shut up,” she snapped, lips parted and she sightlessly reached for his shirt and started to drag him along once again. He huffed and puffed until Nami stopped again, this time in front of a long wall lined with poster upon poster of wanted criminals.
She snapped in his face, silencing his complaints. Nami wasn’t sure what to say, unsure if she’s right, yet somehow confident she’s not wrong. So she simply grabbed his face and turned it toward one poster in particular; the picture was of a person around their age, standing rigid and proud in a marine get-up. Their lips were pulled into a tight grin, but their eyes were dead and blank.
“Is that…?” Nami trailed off, watching with bated breath as Luffy reached to take it down, the corners tearing from the tacks used to pin it up.
Luffy held the poster like it was glass, eyes flickering all over, checking for inconsistencies. He found none, bringing the poster closer to his face, a soft chuckle slipping past his lips.
Former Captain Y/N L/N. Wanted dead or alive for ten million beri.
He hardly believed his eyes. His sign. You’re ready.
The whole town heard his victory shout, rattling windchimes and alerting everyone around that, “THEY DID IT! They’re free!” He whirled on Nami and shook your poster in her direction. “Nami, we have to find them! How do we find them?”
“Not sure,” she said, unable to help the grin on her face. “But we will.”
Now it was Luffy doing the dragging and Nami doing the whining, all the way back to the ship, and the whole crew was witness to the blinding smile spread on their captain’s face as he brandished your wanted poster to them.
What would he do? What would he say? Luffy figured he would apologize first—for what, he didn’t really know, he just felt like he should—and then he’d yell at you for feeling like you had to stay, before attacking you in a hug sure to drag you to the ground.
And then he’d kiss you, probably, definitely. You were long overdue for one of those.
He just had to find you first.
Sanji and Zoro stood leaning on the banister around the ship’s helm, watching as Luffy rattled on about how you’d love Robin’s library, when the cook turned to the swordsman, taking out his cigarette to speak.
“So we’re bounty hunting Luffy’s lost marine?” Sanji mused with a half grin, drawing a smirk from Zoro.
He cast Sanji a look and shrugged. The cook laughed wryly and stubbed his smoke on the banister. “This should be fun.”

Within a week the rumors had spread like wildfire across the sea: ex-marine Y/N L/N was searching for Monkey D. Luffy.
“Did you hear?” said a baker to his neighbor. “That marine deserter stole Yuri’s boat!”
“I thought they looked familiar!”
And some miles off, a widow whispered among her friends. “And as they were sailing off they shouted, ‘Tell Strawhat Luffy I’m after him!’ And off they were!”
Three islands later, the people of a lonely village began to whisper as Y/N the Deserter stepped off a little sloop. Your void expression, calloused hands, and narrowed gaze were intimidating enough, but what was more nerve-wracking was your silence.
As you did on every island before, you headed right for the closest bar, and without much pretense, you asked if Strawhat Luffy had been seen in the area. Usually, the answer was a nervous twitch followed by a thoughtful silence, and then, usually, a no.
Receiving the expected answer once again, you gave a frustrated sigh and said no more, sitting solitary at the end of the bar, shooting glares at anyone who dared to look at you too long. Deep in your thoughts, you wondered if this was payback for hiding from Luffy for so long, always slipping through his fingers as he was yours now.
All this happened five more times, three of which nearly gave you hope, but Luffy was always leaving as you were arriving, always just out of reach. Each time you left a village, you left with the same message: “If you see Monkey D. Luffy! Tell him I’m looking for him!”
No one was quite sure if the Deserter Marine meant to kill the Strawhat, or meant some other kind of pirate business. Either way, your intentions were clear to those you crossed, so you can imagine one small island’s sudden excitement when shortly after your departure, in sailed Monkey D. Luffy and his crew.
The restlessly bored daughter of the mayor wasted no time in rushing up to the pirate captain and explaining in long-winded detail your declaration. Luffy started to laugh almost maniacally, grinning from ear to ear as he turned to shake Zoro by his stiff shoulders.
The rumors stretched even to the marines, tirelessly searching for their escaped soldier, primarily the group led by Captain Koby, who forced down a laugh when the information reached him.
“I’m sorry,” he told his superiors. “We’ve searched for months, and honestly, we’re exhausting our resources over a deserter. I think it’s time we give it a rest.”
Slowly, your wanted poster was overshadowed by those around it, and people stopped whispering about Y/N the Deserter, who traveled from island to island, village to village, entering a spectral and leaving a spectacle.
You fought off bounty hunters and swindled food vendors, using all your money on information alone. A stolen sword on your hip and a suspicious maroon stain on the cuff of your sleeve, you looked more and more like a pirate by the hour.
Months. And nothing. No sign of him.
Nothing.
Till just now.
You weren't exactly sure if you were seeing right, squinting through the blazing sun as you slowly walked down the dock of the latest island. A ways away, pocketed away between two large vessels, was a caravel with a creative masthead; a lion, to be precise. That isn’t what stopped you in your tracks, though—emblazoned on the sail was a skull and crossbones, the typical jolly roger… accompanied by a Straw Hat.
So many days… you’d very nearly given up, the idea always at the back of your mind, wondering if all of this was foolish, if you’d made tragic mistake after tragic mistake and now you would never see your best friend and the love of your life ever again—yet here you stood, breathless, eyes locked on the ship you’d only ever dreamed of seeing.
On tentative feet, you walked down the docks, weaving in and out of busy sailors to reach that ship. The sky was cloudy and dark, and it would probably rain later that day, and still you swore a beam of sunlight was shining down upon the vessel. The Thousand Sunny.
“I’m gonna be sick,” you whispered, clutching at your gut as your skin got all clammy and cold and suffocating. “Oh, god.”
Hah! Was your mind playing tricks, or was he really so close you could hear his laughter just up on the deck of the ship. You barely realized when you stopped moving, only aware once your heart started thumping in your ears.
Your fists tightened with resolve at your sides and you surged forward, forcing step after step till you reached the gangway of the ship. Blood rushing, hands shaking, heart racing, you set one foot on the beginning of the wooden ramp, eyes raising to where the gangway opened up to the deck.
“Sanji! You changed the combination on the fridge again!”
Frozen in your tracks, you realized you’d forgotten what his voice sounded like. He sounded different now—older. Either way, you couldn’t move, listening closely as a man replied, “Yeah, I did. No clue how you cracked the first code.”
The scoff to follow was so clear you could picture the boy rolling his eyes perfectly. Your pulse thundered, drowning out every other noise, a chill passing through your blood once again. You could do this. You would do this. Luffy was right there.
“Hey.” You jerked back, wild eyes finding a man leering down at you, suspicion all over his face. One hand rested on the hilt of a sword, one of three. “What d’you want?”
Zoro’s brows met as he assessed the stranger staring blankly up at him, their jaw dropped as they searched for an answer. The stranger backed away like a frightened animal, cursed softly, and bolted deeper into the town.
“Okay…” Zoro tilted his head, wondering why he had the feeling he’d seen them before… Oh. Oh. Zoro’s eyes widened and he misstepped, nearly falling overboard as he raked a hand through his hair. “Shit—Hey! Hey, wait!”
Nami rushed to the edge of the ship in an instant, book abandoned on her chair. In seconds she zeroed in on the figure ducking into the crowds, her breath catching. It couldn’t be. It was too perfect. “That’s…”
Zoro barked a laugh. “Yeah!”
Her jaw set and she whirled on him in a flash, brows met. “You let them go?!”
“What—” He sputtered a response as she punched his bicep. “I didn’t—”
“What’s going on?”
Nami and Zoro froze, heads whipping back to face their captain as he hopped down from the helm, a pair of deer in headlights. Luffy’s head was tilted, his hat snug on his head, looking as chipper as ever. Nami tried to speak, yet her throat had run dry, only a squeak escaping.
Zoro expelled a sigh as gravity of the situation fully set in. Years and years he’d been listening to Luffy rabble on about first first-mate, his best friend, the one he’d lost to the marines. The true story of how you were separated was muddled and confusing, for sometimes it was you who’d left and sometimes it was him. You’d been as strange and elusive as the One Piece itself until the day you’re wanted poster was found, and Zoro realized you were a real person and not just some fictitious story.
You meant as much to Luffy as his dreams, and to Zoro, that was something sacred.
The words found him instantly, eyes locking with Luffy’s and voice laden with solemnity. “They’re here.”
Luffy’s face drained of color and Zoro nearly went to make sure he wouldn’t fall. “What?” he croaked.
“They’re here,” Nami gasped at last, a smile working its way up her face. Luffy turned his eyes to her, all wide and disbelieving. “We found them.”
The edges of Luffy’s lips quivered upward, gaze flickering between his friends. “I—I told you that innkeeper wasn’t lying!”
Nami rolled her eyes. “That’s what you’re focused on?”
Not even a beat went by when, “He did tell you so.”
“Yeah,” Luffy laughed. “You said we shouldn’t trust ‘em.”
She wasn’t in a fighting mood, not at a time like this, so she gritted her teeth and relented, “Fine, you told me so. Can we go? They ran off and who knows where they’ve gone.”
And just like that, Luffy snapped to attention, brows vaulted as his eyes darted to the crowded streets beyond the docks. “They ran away? Why?”
“Zoro probably scared them,” Nami grunted, swatting the broad shouldered man who huffed in reply.
“Whatever!”
The crew was rallied in ten minutes, their ranks spreading through the city in a matter of moments. Really, it was only a matter of time before they found you, at least Luffy told himself that.
But he couldn’t get it out of his mind. Why did you run away?
જ⁀➴
The only reason you stopped sprinting was the driver who shoved you aside to help his lady into her awaiting carriage. Otherwise, you might have run from one end of the island to the other, just to be safe.
Teetering on one foot then the other, you spat a curse and hunched over, clutching at the collar of your shirt as you hurried into the awning of an alley. You muttered over and over, hitting the heel of your palm to your head. Slumping against the wall, you mocked yourself, “Oh, Tell Monkey D. Luffy I’m looking for him! Did you really think you’d be able to face him? You’re so stupid!”
And now, his friend had seen you. You’d have to escape the city somehow, sail far away, and start anew. A new name would have to be decided. Hopefully Absolute Fucking Idiot the First wasn’t too common.
Right after the foolishness was the shame—how could you come this far just to sprint as fast as you could from your him? The one you would travel every sea twice to find, if only you could find the nerve.
Clawing at your arms, inhaling deep, you allowed yourself a moment of peace (it didn’t work). Dark spots crept up your vision, wide eyes blinking fast, a cold sweat forming. You needed to sit down, preferably not in a damp alleyway.
You found your way to a bar, a scene you’d grown familiar with over the years. Though your ears and eyes were peeled, you couldn’t help the sneaking feeling that man was going to find you. You assured yourself it was a stupid, that you were good at hiding, that you’d made an art of it—but what if?
What if something inside wanted Luffy’s friend to find you? To drag you back? To give you no choice but to see Luffy and know him again? On that thought, you lifted your gaze and ordered a glass of juice, because you’d rather have a clear head when that crewmate of his didn’t stop searching.
Sipping at your drink, you sat a while in thought, chin rested on your palm as you swirled the juice around with a straw, creating little whirlpools. You nearly fell asleep like that when the bell over the bar’s door jingled. You peeked out the corner of your eye, seeing a pretty woman gazing around, looking for someone.
Her long dark hair draped around her shoulders as she crossed her arms and sighed, defeated. You turned back around and drank the rest of your juice, ignoring how familiar that woman looked. It was probably nothing; probably just another pirate off one of the many wanted posters you’d been presented with.
“You’re Y/N, right?”
Every muscle in your body stiffened, all breathe lost at the mention of your name. You whipped around to find the woman a few inches away from you, her eyes now intently locked on yours.
You licked your lips as your panic swelled. A bounty hunter perhaps? “Who?”
“Y/N,” she repeated, undeterred. “The Deserter. Is that you?”
Leveling her with a glare, you stood and set a hand on your sword. “You’ve got the wrong person.”
Taking in her blank stare, you sidestepped and made to weave around her, heart racing once again, when she grabbed your tricep in a grip stronger than she looked capable of. You jerked away, but she only tightened her hand.
“Luffy’s looked for you a long time,” she whispered, shooting icicles donw your spine. “You mean a lot to him just to run off when he finally finds you.”
Slowly, you met her gaze, jaw slack as you heaved in deep breaths. “He… what?” You tried to get away, weaker this time. “Who are you?”
A grin slid easily onto her face, giving her an air of danger. “So it is you.” She extended a hand to you even as she kept you in place with her other. “Nico Robin. I’ve heard a lot about you, Captain.”
Instantly, every fiber of your being crawled, a sneer taking your face. “I’m not a captain.”
“Not anymore. Luffy was so excited when he found out.” Robin released you, grinning when you stood frozen in place. “Could we talk?”
You’re not sure how Robin got you sitting at a shadowed booth near the back of the bar, but there you were, sitting across form her as she stirred her drink. You felt stiff all over, hands folded in your lap. “Listen, I’ve been looking for him too.”
“We know,” Robin said after a sip. “We got your messages.”
Your skim warmed. “Right, uhm. I was headed for your boat—ship—Sunny…” You gaped, grasping at words that practically sprinted away from you. Were the walls closing in? Was the air getting thinner? You snatched at the first feasable sentence. “But I couldn’t...”
When you lifted your gaze, you’re not sure what you expected. Maybe for her to be angry, disappointed, amused even. But instead, she looked curious, her head tilted slightly, her eyes scanning your face.
“Why?” she asked ever so simply.
You felt very small, looking anywhere but at Robin, fiddling with your thumbs. Deflect. Deflecting is good. “Is Luffy okay? Good, I mean. Is he good? I heard him. He sounded happy.”
She didn’t answer. She only sat in silence, a brow raised. You cracked your neck from side to side, too awkward for comfort, desperate worries boiling up your throat and—
“I think… I think, sometimes, he’s still better off without me.” Your leg bounced up and down. “Like, what if I see him, and I haven’t changed at all? I’ve always been a coward. What if that’s all I’ll ever be?”
Robin watched you very closely, her heart aching as a part of her regretted being so harsh with you before. She’d only been thinking of Luffy, but still. She leaned closer and set her arms on the table, trying to catch your flickering gaze. “Hey.” She held your stare firmly. “You deserted the marines. A coward wouldn’t do that.”
“But I ran away.”
“No,” she said with a shake of her head, offering a slight smile. “You’re here with me.”
Robin never swayed in her direct attention to you, and though her gaze burned into you, something about its blaze was warm. Your mother had always been a blur on the forefront of your mind, killed in action some years after your birth. The one memory you had of her was of a scolding, when her eyes burned into you just like this.
“He looked for me?” you asked, tapering off.
Robin smiled. “Since he saw your poster a few months back. I suspect he’s been looking for clues even longer.”
“But… he’s gotten so… great. Everyone knows his name.”
“And yet…” Robin ensured she had your attention. “He never forgot yours.” She pushed aside her half-full glass and inched toward the end of the booth. “Why would he? To me, it seems like you’re the love of his life—maybe even above the sea.”
She left you dazed, not breathing nearly enough air, and you stammered as she stood to her feet. “Where are you going?”
“Back to the Sunny,” she shrugged, stretching. “Feel free to follow.”
You slipped to your feet as well. “You won’t make me?”
Now was when she looked amused. Robin’s lips quirked as she shook her head. “I can’t make you do anything. But, if you wanna prove you’re not a coward—”
She pivoted, hands in her pockets as she called over her shoulder, “—you know where to find him.”
And she was gone and quick as she appeared, out of the bar and down the street in a matter of seconds. Rattled, you leaned on the table and collected your wits from where they’d been scattered all over the ground.
You could have been standing there for three minutes or three hours—you couldn’t tell—but when you finally shook yourself back to reality you swiftly paid and set out into the street. You shielded your eyes and looked toward the sun, catching it hiding just behind the tops of the buildings on either side of the street.
A lot happened in those few moments of looking at the sun.
You were nine years old again, holding a training sword and having no idea what to do with it. Your father had shouted at you for not catching on quicker. Your mother’s grave was newly dug. You were only nine, yet expected to be so much more. You wanted—needed to be so much more.
A little boy watched on, wondering when you’d stop staring at the ground and notice him only a few feet away. After ten minutes, he grew bored and jumped off the log pile he’d been perched on.
“What’re you doing?” he asked, startling you.
You blinked widely at him. “Practicing.”
He grinned crookedly. “For a staring contest?”
“To be a marine,” you said forcefully as you thrust the little sword out pathetically. “Father says I have to be the best.”
The boy plopped down on the grass in front of you, pulling at pieces of it and sprinkling them back down. “Yeah, my grandpa says the same. Too bad for him though.”
You examined him carefully, letting your sword drop to your side as you slowly knelt beside him. “Why too bad?”
A wicked grin crossed his face. “I’m not gonna be a marine.”
“What will you be?” you asked when he didn’t go on.
“I dunno. Happy, I guess.”
“Can marines not be happy?”
“Not the ones I’ve met.”
He had you there. You puffed up your cheeks, took a quick look around, and leaned in very close to whisper, “I don’t wanna be a marine either. But that’s a secret!”
The boy nodded quickly, his smile so bright you felt warm under its shine.
You wandered down the street, head in the clouds, as a ghost of that little boy dragged you along with him, your hand trapped in his. A smaller you was stumbling to keep up, your strides too short.
“C’mon! Shanks is back!”
“Wait! Luffy, you’re too fast!”
He always let you catch up. Always. You blinked and the little boy wore a straw hat now and had a scar on his cheek. He was terrifying you, slingshotting himself across a forest. He was holding your hand and scowling up at your father, slapped across the face a moment later. He was telling you about his dreams, and how in every one, there was you.
“I’ll be captain of a mighty ship! And you’ll be my first mate, won’t you?”
And he was watching as you remained on shore, standing beside his livid grandfather, left to face the consequences on your own. Left behind of your own accord, feeling as if there was never any other choice.
“But there’s always a choice,” you whispered, and it hit you like a train; you’d been making all the wrong ones.
The street fell to the background as you lifted your gaze from the ground, finding the docks right there in front of you. Somewhere, the Thousand Sunny rested on the water, her masthead peering out as if watching for you. All you had to do was step beyond the sidewalk and onto those wooden platforms.
Feet itching to step both forward and back, you held your breath as your muscles locked up. Your world dug in its heels yet the sun continued to set, ignoring your hesitance, growing tired of waiting on you. As your fingers dug into your pants, you willed time itself to stop, just to let you think this through a bit longer.
You were denied.
“If you wanna prove you’re not a coward, you know where to find him.”
You expelled all your breath in an utterance: “I’m not a coward.”
Shaky legs carried you down the docks, past little sloops and grand vessels, around lumbering sailors and lanky merchants. The air chilled your bones as night grew closer, winds casting in from the sea. Salt air filled your lungs and pushed at your back, wrapping around you and shoving you forward still.
You walked and walked till you hit the edge of a gangway, falling forward and landing on your palms with a yelp. Heaving a sigh, you glanced up, finding the top of the ramp you’d seen earlier. No burly swordsman stood at the top. No one stood in your way.
But could you get out of your own?
Jaw set, you shoved to your feet and stomped up to the deck, steps faltering when you finally made it. How… lackluster. You released your stiff shoulders as you cast a look around, finding no reason for alarm or vigilance. No armageddon or catastrophe. Only a peaceful ship deck, drifting upon calm waves.
Not a soul stood on deck. A bucket hinted that someone had mopped recently, and a book lay closed atop a beach chair. Somewhere below deck was a shouting, but you couldn’t make it out. Whatever horrible fate you’d expected to face was nowhere to be found.
You were here, and all was well.
A small sound came from behind you, and it sounded like your name.
For once in your life you didn’t think before you whipped around, gut lurching. The boy was so close. He looked older, like you thought he would, but still very much the same. A new scar ran across his chest, revealed by the open shirt across his shoulders, but it was without a doubt Monkey D. Luffy.
His eyes pierced you, reality sinking in and crumbling you. After all the years and worries and waiting, he stood only a few feet away. The world didn’t break. The sky didn’t fall. You weren’t struck down by some mighty force of fate. Luffy didn’t look angry at all—in fact, he looked almost happy.
A small smile trembled on his lips, eyes so bright. “You came back.”
His name left your lips like a gasp as you stumbled for him on unsteady legs. You hadn’t even blinked and he was there, hands grabbing at your shoulders and running down your arms so delicately, as if you might turn to mist right then and there.
You reached for his hand and clutched it tightly, lacing together your fingers and marveling at how easily they fit—a pair unhindered by time. Your eyes flickered up from your interlocked hands to find his eyes. The softness of his features knocked the breath out of you.
You broke the bated moment, throwing your arms around him and pulling him close, your chin finding his shoulder. Luffy held you tightly with his eyes wide and his breathing heavy.
“I’m sorry,” you gasped, ducking your chin to press your forehead to his collarbone. “I’m so—I won’t ever leave. Never. Please don’t—don’t—”
“I won’t,” Luffy murmured in your ear. His rubber arms extended to wrap around the two of you twice, for only once would never be enough. “I’m sorry.”
Just as tears began to break past your lash line Luffy took you by your arms and jerked you away from him, keeping you a breath away. “You never had to stay,” he practically hissed. “Why did you think you had to stay?”
He made it hard to think when he wiped the tears off your cheeks. All you could do was lean into his hands, stammering. “I just thought you’d be better—”
“No.” He shook his head. “No. No, why would you ever think that?”
You blinked, at a loss for an answer. “I dunno. I—I’m just fucked up like that. Self-destructive and… what-not…”
Luffy didn’t let you lower your head even as your cheeks warmed his hands. His fingertips traced the apples of your cheeks, memorizing the feel of your skin. He leaned closer, catching your gaze with a reassuring smile and stroke of your face. “I won’t leave you if you won’t leave me. Ever.”
Slowly, you nodded, a burn rising in your neck. “Deal.”
He pulled you into an impossibly tighter embrace, one hand cradling the back of your head, the other around your back. You hooked your hands around his shoulders and breathed ever so gently as his hand settled on your back, soothing the tension wrought throughout your body.
You shivered, nails slightly clawing at him. Close was not close enough. “I missed you.”
“Me too… Worm.” And the moment was broken as the most unflattering laugh left you. You pushed him off with a scoff, grinning wide as his brows vaulted innocently.
“Shut up! I don’t even read anymore!”
The smile quickly slid off his face, replaced by a face so cutely quizical. “Why not?”
“I just…” You thought of how to phrase it. “I don’t have anything to read, and if I did, I still don’t have the time.”
Just a beat later he had you by the hand, determined as he started to tug you along with him. “I’ve got something to show you.”
You were dragged below deck before you could say a word, led swiftly through the dimply lit hallways. His snickers and beaming smile flooded your head and left you helpless to ask anything at all, following after him as best you could. You passed by an open door that presumably led to a kitchen, briefly spying a crew of people gathered around a table as you zipped on by.
Luffy stumbled to a stop right outside a closed door. Chest heaving, you rose a brow. Luffy grinned, squeezed your hand, and pushed inside. It was dark, voidish shapes scattered around. Luffy left your side, rushing to a lantern and igniting it, casting the room in a warm glow. Jaw falling slack, you spun around, gaze flickering this way and that.
“A library,” Luffy said needlessly, at your shoulder once again. “Like I promised.”
On every wall a floor to ceiling shelf was littered with books tall and wide and thin. Your hand brushed the many spines, the deep warm colors and soft leather and canvas covers running under your fingertips. You pinched yourself next, heart hammering in your chest as you swiveled around, blinking quickly. “Luffy…”
It was one thing to hear that he’d never forgotten… but it was a very different thing to be standing in the tangible proof that Luffy never stopped believing.
It felt as if you were seeing him for the first time all over again, all doubts cast away and dashed out. He was the same Luffy, but he was stronger, mightier than the Luffy you’d known. More determined, if it was possible. As he stood there before you with a hope laden gaze, his dream felt real.
A shiver ran down your spine; Luffy would be the Pirate King, and by God, you’d be there to witness it.
Your fear had gone somewhere you couldn’t find nor feel it, and though it left a gap in your chest, that gap was quickly being filled by a ten-fold love for this boy.
You took his hand and held it in both of yours, peering into his eyes all glassy-like. “Thank you. For not giving up.”
He grinned, asking, “Was there ever any doubt?”
Youd get into that later, perhaps with a therapist should you pass one on the seas. For now, you scoffed a laugh and pulled him closer, a hand reaching for the scruff on his neck and carding through it. He leaned into you, nose brushing yours, as he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead.
You pursed your lips despite sighing at the soft touch. “You missed.”
“I did?” Luffy snickered as you rolled your eyes. He caught you off guard, darting in to kiss you slowly, drawing you in close.
“Join my crew,” he asked—stated, more like—holding so much hope in his eyes that you had to stop just to admire him. You relished in the fact that he was right inf ront of you, reaching to trace his face from his temple to his jaw, vowing to never take him for granted ever again.
The tethers and cords of your souls melded back together, as they should have remained from the very beginning. “Yes, Captain,” you replied, laughing at how his smile grew brighter.
He gripped your hands in both of his, tugging you along as he retreated for the door. “Wanna meet the others?”
You dug your heels into the floor, chuckling dryly. “You know, maybe we should hold off till tomorrow, yeah?”
Luffy paused, brows meeting, blinking slowly. “Okay, if that’s what you want…”
Purring your lips, you looked from each of his eyes to his nose to his forehead, sighing when defeat found you. “You really want me to meet them now?”
The squeeze he gave your hands, along with how the smile grew back on his face, was answer enough. Another sigh pulled at your chest as nodded. “Lead the way.”
By the end of the hour, the entire crew had come to a decision: you fit in perfectly, even if they had to (gently) jam your piece into the puzzle just to get you to converse with them. “They’re nervous,” Luffy not so silently whispered to the others, causing heat to crawl up your neck as you pinched your nose.
Gathered around on various modes of seating, you found yourself wrapped in an uncanny warmth despite the chill of the sea air. You shared a crate with Luffy, thigh to thigh, his hand playing with your fingers as he recounted story after story of his adventures with his friends.
A bittersweet smile sat on your lips, happy he was happy, wondering what could have been if you’d gone with him. Stop it. It’s in the past.
“What about you,” Robin interrupted Usopp’s next inevitable tangent, eyes zeroed in on you. “Surely you’ve got stories.”
All eyes shifted to you, and the warmth fled the moment instantly. You shook you head quickly. “Nah, nothing as interesting as yours.”
Luffy bumped your shoulder, suddenly excited. “Then tell us a boring one! I wanna know what you’ve been doing.”
Grinning softly, you stared at your feet, twindling the toes of your boots.”I don’t want to think about it.”
That surely sucked the happiness out of air, replacing it with an ominous vagueness. Luffy’s side pressed against yours, and with a sigh you quickly broke the awkward silence. “Not all of it was bad, though. I had Koby—Oh! He says hello, by the way. I did some good things too, or I hope I did. Like, this one time, my captain at the time got a call from a nearby village.”
“The call was from this girl, I think,” you recalled. “She pleaded for help. These pirates had come in and plundered everything… The call ended in a gunshot.”
You had the whole crew’s attention then, the silence almost eerie. You cleared your throat. “So we took maybe twenty marines and headed to the island. By then the pirates had hostages at the center of the town.” You pushed back your shoulders, imitating your superiors. “Surrender now, said the captain, and the leader of the pirates obviously laughed in his face. Captain Gozi—that’s his name—kept pressing in, acting so docile, even as the pirate captain pressed a gun to the head of this young boy. Gozi is a good man, but we had differing opinions on how to go about the situation.”
Nami interjected, “How did you want to solve it?”
You hesitated before admitting, “Well, I did wind up solving it, and Gozi wasn’t too happy about it.”
“What did you do?” asked Chopper, his ears flitting back against his head.
“The pirate captain kept on laughing, and when Gozi continued to try to negotiate, the pirate threw the boy down and was about to shoot—so I shot first. Right here.” You tapped your forehead. “That’s actually the reason I was promoted to captain. They made me out to be a hero.”
“Woah,” Usopp sighed.
Zoro tilted his head. “So you shoot and you use a sword?”
“I’m sort of a jack of all trades, master of none.”
Sanji shrugged. “Still better than master of one.”
Before you could say something quippy in return, a swift peck was left on your cheek, leaving a blooming warmth on your skin. You whipped around to blink wide eyed at Luffy and his lopsided smile.
“What?” you laughed.
He gently kicked your foot. “I just really love you.”
A series of coos erupted from Nami and Chopper, along with some snickers from the boys, and you sat growing increasingly flustered under the attention. You rammed your forehead into Luffy’s shoulder to hide your face, dragging a bright laugh out of him.
Minutes later, when the focus shifted away from you and toward the next elaborate tale to be strung by the Great Usopp, as he called himself, you leaned into Luffy and murmured softly. “I really love you too.”
High above, the stars shined and wove themselves through the night sky, no longer tiring themselves with transferring the love of a pair between the edges of the seas—they were together again, at long last, and the stars rested easy now that Fate had had its fun.

The Infiltration
The Beginning of the New Pantheon
Masterpost
Donna Troy dialed a familiar number as she flew through the air from Mount Olympus. She could feel the weight of her coming responsibilities on her shoulders already. Zeus had chosen her to be Queen of the New Olympians. She would need a whole freak out later, but for now, she had to inform the others.
“This is Nightwing.” Dick’s voice came through her comm, calm, curt, and ready for any crisis. Just what she needed.
“Hey Boy Wonder.” Donna said.
“I get the feeling this isn’t a social call.”
“Unfortunately no. I’m going to send you a list of junior leaguers, can you make sure they are waiting for me at Titans Tower? Along with any of you bats that are free.”
“Of course, Donna. Does this have anything to do with the emergency meeting Diana just called with the rest of the League?”
“It sure does.”
“Got it. What should I tell the others? What should I be ready for?”
Donna took a moment to think through what she thought would happen and how the others would react.
“Tell your birds to polish their batarangs and prepare for an uncertain diplomatic situation.”
“Got it. I’ll round up the others and meet you at the Tower.”
“Thanks.” Donna almost ended the call, but stopped. “And Nightwing?”
“Yeah?” His voice was half distracted as he sought out where the other bats were currently.
“I’m going to need your help to keep them all from falling apart.”
“Don’t worry Donna. I’ve got your back.”
.
Cassie was baffled by her mission. How was it that there was a group of heroes that had flown completely under the radar of the Justice League, yet had somehow earned the respect of the Olympians? Her list had a bunch of different names on it, but all had the same location. She had looked up the names in the JL systems as she flew from Olympus to the middle of nowhere Illinois. None of the people were in the database. Red Robin would be pissed if he knew.
Even more concerning was the fact that there wasn’t even a town listed at the coordinates. Batman insisted that the League had the best satellites with the best cameras and there was nothing in the area. There weren’t even any JL calls! If there were a bunch of heroes who had been facing things that had been known to the Olympians, there should have been some calls from civilians for help right?
She was really hoping this wasn’t some kind of weird murder-cult or unsanctioned government organization. She hated dealing with those, and for now she would be on her own. Young Justice got up to a lot of weird stuff that didn’t make it into the League reports, especially under Red Robin’s leadership, and this might top all the rest.
Cassie landed just on the outskirts of what appeared to be a regular suburban town. Her eyebrows rose at the sign that welcomed her to Amity Park. Underneath the city’s name had previously been an older town slogan, she could still read the faded letters even though the words themselves had been removed, “The Most Haunted City in the US!” Over those faded marks was a new slogan, “A Place to Live.” Clearly the slogan had changed recently, with a real half-assed effort.
Over top the new slogan was some graffiti in a neon green spray paint that crossed out the other words and said, “Welcome to Hell.” She supposed it only made sense for someone who would replace Hades as the lord of the Underworld to live in a place like this. She sighed to herself, switched her uniform to her more stealth focused look and crept past the city limits.
Her feelings of concern grew when she saw what was clearly a government blockade stretching across the road into the rest of the city proper. Multiple all white vans blocked all out going traffic and the in going road was limited to a single lane. She could make out multiple government goons in tacky white suits carrying all manner of glowing green weapons; blasters, rifles, even what looked like a bazooka.
A fence extended from the blockade and seemed to wrap around the entire city. The fence was topped with barbed wire and had strange sensors every few yards. She pulled a few wires, and connected them to the small palm computer she carried with her equipment. She might not be as techy as Red Robin and Impulse were, but she was better than Superboy, and Red Robin made sure they were all equipped to handle the basics of infiltration and espionage.
Whatever the sensors were searching for, and it wasn’t movement, heat, radiation or anything else she could figure out on her own, they also didn’t detect her. There didn’t appear to be any cameras that she could see, so the goons were solely dependent on these sensors. This was becoming even more of a mystery, and she hadn’t even found Phantom yet.
Cassie lifted off, flying easily over the fence to land on the other side. Both the goons at the gate and the sensors were aimed at the sky, so she had to imagine that whatever they were trying to contain was a known flier. Even if the sensors couldn’t detect her, she would have an easier time avoiding problems on the ground even if it would take longer to get around.
She walked quickly into the mid-sized town from the outskirts and her concerns only grew. There were hardly any cars on the roads, which made perfect sense considering the road was pocked with massive craters like the town had been bombarded by meteors. The few citizens she could see hurried by as if afraid to be caught out on the streets.
This was a city under siege, but from what?
Also, why hadn’t the Justice League been called?
Cassie had a bad feeling that she wouldn’t like the answer to either of those questions.
She hurried through, her eyes peeled for any threat, as well as on the look out for the mysterious Phantom she was supposed to be making contact with. There were stores boarded up, more sensors along with loud speakers on tall poles, and posters warning the populace about a curfew.
Cassie ducked into an alley at the sound of squealing tires. Her eyes just about bugged out of her head as a silver tank, with that same neon green detailing barreled around the corner. It took out a stop light, then without stopping carried on down to the other end of the street. The tank had what  she could only describe as a cannon on its roof, that same eerie green glow to it.
She had fought alongside Superboy often enough that her first thought was Kryptonite, but unless there were somehow an entire city of secret Kryptonians, it didn’t make sense for them to carry weapons specifically against the Supers. She leaned out into the street to see if she could see which way it was going, or if there was any sign of what a tank like that was needed for.
“Hey! Get out of the streets!” A voice hissed to her from the opposite alley way.
Cassie whipped her head up. There in the opposite alley were two teenagers, desperately waving her over. She double checked that the tank had turned the corner and wasn’t in sight and she ran across to them. They pulled her away from the street into the back alley behind one of the businesses.
She looked the two of them over once they were no longer moving. The girl was goth, with dark hair, pale skin, a leather jacket, and backpack with several plants hanging out of it. Cassie thought she might get along very well with Raven. The boy had dark skin, a ratty and stained beanie and the oldest PDA she had ever seen even if it looked modded to Hades and back. He would probably get along entirely too well with Red Robin. She would have to keep the two of them apart.
The boy was watching back the way they had come, his PDA in his hand as he checked for any followers. The girl was watching with Cassie with the same examining glare she was used to from Batman.
“What are you doing?” The girl snapped her question out. “We told all teenagers to stay off the streets. It's not safe with the GIW on patrol!”
Cassie ratcheted up her mental alarm scale quite a bit. This whole town already had so many red flags it looked like a ski slope, and now she was adding even more. She set her feet and squared her shoulders. She was a member of Young Justice. She wasn’t going to let this happen.
“I need you two to tell me everything you know. I’m called Wonder Girl and I’m with the Justice League and I’m here to help.” Cassie said, using her “Daughter of Zeus” voice that she reserved for during a crisis. Impulse always said he could hear thunder in her voice when she did that.
“What’s the Justice League?” The boy asked, and Cassie was knocked onto her back foot. She had purposely said the main League because people sometimes looked down on YJ and TT because they were kids, but how could someone not even know about the Justice League? They were in the news almost every day for one reason or another.
“Uh, the Justice League is a group of heroes that protect Earth? They’ve fought off alien invasions and saved lives and things like that? Because of my strength I usually help fight off meta humans who want to conquer the world or steal stuff.”
The two teens looked completely baffled and Cassie just gave up trying to catalog the red flags in this town and just marked the whole thing as FUBAR. She would probably need the help of the rest of Young Justice to get this sorted, or maybe even the full League.
“Well, ‘Wonder Girl’ my name’s Sam and-”
“Wait, Samantha Manson?” Cassie ignored the implied finger quotes around her hero name in her excitement that she may have just found one of the people she was looking for.
“My name is Sam.” Sam snapped.
Cassie ignored her clear irritation and unrolled the scroll she had been given, ice and frost cracking and flaking off as she did so. If Sam Manson was here, it made sense that she would know the other heroes the Olympians were looking for. Cassie closely examined the list she had before looking up at the boy. He didn’t look like a Jazz, or Danielle, he might be a Dan or Phantom himself, but considering his collection of tech she could see, she had a good guess of who he could be.
“And that means, you must be Tucker Foley!” Cassie said triumphantly.
Both of the teens now looked at her with even more wariness than before. That made sense considering what Cassie had seen, but she now had part of her mission objective in front of her. She dismissed the stealth mode on her costume, flicked her wrist to unfurl her lightning lasso and allowed some of her ‘demi-god aura’ out.
“I am from the Justice League, and I am a hero, but I am also a daughter of Zeus, and I have been sent here on a mission from Olympus to summon the heroes of this town to come to our aid. It is only right that I assist you in any way I can from the troubles you currently face.”
“What?” “What?”

Hello. So...I need like enemies friends, demons diety's, just everyone's reaction to Pucca reader's abilities, because I keep thinking to myself how everyone else would react, because Wukong (and MK for Monkie Kid) didn't know for so long.
Oh Boi Back at it again with the scary wife privileges😈🤣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Lmk Wukong) To say the rest were shocked was completely an understatement, like seriously, mk knew you weren't ordinary, but for God's sake, what kind of creature are you?! The others were bamboozled by your secret abilities and strength unknown to anyone in the 3 realms, like what else about their connection to you may have been a lie??? Of course, you were more focused on making sure Wukong and Mk were ok because of the chaos from all the concent life-threatening world crisis so of course you were more focused on your son and husband. Meanwhile Macaque made sure to behave himself unless he wants another brain damaging beat down.
Tumblr media
(HIB Wukong) Luier and Silly girl knew their was something different about you, from the very beginning. It was pigsy and Wukong who were utterly shell-shocked by your gifts and abilities, especially when you do it all with a smile. Luier and Silly girl were your main Priority especially with what was going on with Hun Dun evil plans and you were worried about your kids. Wukong was especially surprised about your own secret demon form and joined him on taking Hun Dun and his army down, and Rescue the children. Wukong was definitely attracted to your strength fued by the love you have for him, Luier and Silly girl. And I guess you care about Pigsy too😒😒😒
Tumblr media
(NR Wukong) Wukong and admittedly Li would be up in your business like They're both equally obsessed about learning your secrets and Origins to your gifts and abilities. It would have Creep you out if it wasn't your son and husband. Your future daughter in law Su wasn't any better either, after seeing what happened in the final battle She had a whole list of her own questions for you. Li was mildly afraid of you and your mystery especially knowing that you even have some connection to his previous recarnation Nezha. Wukong was more so the Betrayed then afraid because he married you, but it seems he doesn't know anything really about you. Although you never took it to heart only opting to kiss him he still felt disappointed in him, and turned on by your power.
Tumblr media
(MKR Wukong) His mind was genuinely blown with by demon form, and He had no clue that you could control the weather in that form. Wukong was very prideful of you more so then now knowing that you're just if not more powerful than he is. He has never been more in love with you, and he will now never stop being in love, especially when you saved fruity from being sacrificed. The monk and the pilgrims had a newfound Fear and respect of you and now knew never to cross you especially When it has something to do with your husband. Your powers also got the attention from heaven, And the second buddha and the jade emperor found out that you were the monkey king's wife. The two had a stroke so bad they both had to be bedridden for centuries on end and heaven would be in more chaos if you both plan to start a family.
Tumblr media
(Netflix Wukong) Lin and Dragon king had looks of bewilderment and shock as you continued to kiss Wukong's face over and over. Lin knew you for quite a long time, but she had never known you had abilities and powers like this. Wukong is still a bit afraid of you after beating the stuffing out a buddha and all the celestials like that but soon he started to see you in a different light. Wukong started going on dates with you with Lin's advice of course, and with the time of being together he grew more attracted to you and began to show off and try to impress you but he should know that he had your heart from the start and is just waiting for him to pop the question.
Tumblr media
(BMW Wukong) He'll hath no fury like a woman's scorn vibes is what he always gets from you. Considering you are a surprisely powerful you are, but luckily for you he is very into it. When the celestial realm somehow heard of the immortal monkey in red and actively shat themselves, everybody saw how you had effortlessly beat Erlang like he was a glorified Piñata. Everyone in the celestial realm were terrified of the idea of the idea of Wukong having a just as powerful wife so, They had tried various ways to break you guys up or turn you against each other. Which maybe would have worked Except Wukong is just as obsessed with you as you are of him and would woo you back to him in no time. This is worse than anything anybody could hope, Well anybody in heaven that is.
Tumblr media
(Destined one) If your pucca, then he is most definitely garu, as he is as silent as a mouse. Zhu Bahje was lost for words when he saw the destined one come back with a smiling monkey girl. At first, he was happy that the destined got a new girlfriend. Until he saw what you could do on and off the battlefield, he didn't know whether to be impressed or terrified of your abilities. Not to mention when Erlang came to harass the Destined one (omg just like Tobe🫨) then you stepped in taking his staff and gave Erlang an PTSD worthy ass whooping. It was so bad I'm pretty sure the other 2 realms can hear his screams of agony and fear as you ripped his eye out of his head. The Destined one was able to calm you down with a kiss and you went back to Smothering him to death, it was at that day Zhu Bajie Learned never to mess with the destined one too much Unless he wants to have what Erlang's having.

The days still grew cold as winter was slowly turning into spring, the wind would howl in his ears and his cheeks would turn numb from exposure while he protrolled with Endeavor, Shoto, and Deku. Bakugou shivered as ducked his face into the high collar of his hero costume, attempting to block the direct hit from the bitter chill as he propelled himself through the air with his explosions.
Endeavor suddenly landed onto a high building roof while he surveyed the area around him, the three interns quickly caught up and each landed onto the roof with heavy feet. Silence filled the air as their eyes darted rapidly trying to find the next emergency they would rush off to before Endeavor could.
"You three still can't beat me to the scene. Heh." He scoffed as he glanced over his shoulder at them.
Katsuki's anger bubbled over, ears red and numb from the wind blowing around them. His crimson eyes flared with the frustration that was running through his veins.
" I HATE THE WINTER! IF IT WASN'T FOR THIS GODDAMN COLD I WOULD BE OUT TIMING YOU IN SPEED OLD MAN!"
Shoto and Deku watched as Bakugou continued to let out the built up frustration he had been compressing the last few days. Endeavor sighed at the sight, his demeanor grew more intimidating as he waited for the ashy blonde to finish his unsightly temper tantrum.
Were these boys really Shoto's friends?
Bakugou heaved, angrily breathing in air while he calmed down, his clenched jaw relaxing as silence surrounded them. Endeavor clicked his tongue in annoyance, turning his back on him once more to look at the people below.
"Are you done with that childish rant? I've already told you don't make cold weather an excuse for you falling short. Figure out a way to get stronger."
Bakugou scoffed but stayed silent as he listened to the number one hero. The three boys watched him with intent analyzing his actions and the city that surrounded them, before Endeavor's stern voice cut through the air once more.
"You have been tasked with defeating a villain faster than I can, of course I'm not going to make it easy for you otherwise you wouldn't learn anything."
Determination rose in the boys at the words, the fire under their drive to beat him being furiously relit. Endeavor jumped off the side of the building propelling himself towards the next crisis, the interns eagerly running and throwing themselves into the air after him. Bakugou was right behind his mentor, nearly at his heels as the corner of his mouth quirked up a wide smirk forming. His palms crackled loudly, bursting more explosions from his hands in order to close the gap between him and the number one hero ahead of him. He felt the heat rise throughout his body as his hands simmered under the gloves, finally warming him up in the cold as he raced towards the target.
I'm almost there, just have to push a little bit more.
A dim light fading out in a passing alleyway caught the corner of his eyes, He squinted while he glanced at Endeavor who was still heading fast towards the original crime scene. Bakugou's thoughts gnawed on him as he tried to ignore the light he had seen, but something was telling him he needed to turn around and investigate. He tried to fight the urge, he was so close to victory and finally fulfilling the task he had been given at the start of their internship.
He glowered at himself as he slowed his pace and turned back towards the alleyway, Shoto and Deku exchanged a wide eyed expression as they called out to him briefly, stopping in confusion at his actions.
"Bakugou! Where are you going?!"
Bakugou didn't stop to answer their calls, nor did he spare them another glance as he made his way towards the now faded light. Shoto and Deku worried on who to follow before ultimately deciding to trust him with what he was doing while they continued to follow Endeavor.
His expression dulled as the alleyway came back into view, he surveyed the area as his feet landed loudly on the concrete. He kept his guard up as he took in his surroundings, the alleyway seemed deserted but he wasn't going to take a chance at being unprepared for an attack. His pupils flared and eyebrows furrowed as he heard movement from further down, a scowl returned to his features as voice rang out echoing off the walls loudly.
"HEY BASTARD! GET THE HELL OUT HERE BEFORE I DRAG YOU OUT, YOU GODDAMN COWARD!" Bakugou demanded.
He heard feet shuffling from the side of the dumpster a few feet away from him, His hands crackled in anticipation as he readied himself for a fight.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" He cursed, his lips drew back in snarl as he took in the figure in front of him.
A six year old boy stood there in shorts and a short sleeve shirt, his thoughts raced through protocols on missing children as he leered down at the kid.
"Damn! What's your name kid?" He asked, his tone going softer as the rush of adrenaline dwindled down.
The boy kept his face lowered towards the ground, ashy blonde hair covering his eyes as his body visibly shivered from the cold. Annoyance rose within him as he waited for the kid to answer, clicking his tongue when it was obvious he wasn't going to receive one.
"Hey, you don't know how to talk or something?! If you want help, answer otherwise stop wasting my time and leave." A vein popped out of his neck as he spat harshly.
Another breeze blew through the alleyway causing the boy to shudder and wrap his arms around his torso. His face looked up suddenly, eyes still closed with the faintest sign of tear streaks running down his cheeks, his eyebrows furrowed tensely as he shouted out.
"KATSURO BAKUGOU! YOU ASSHOLE!"
Katsuki's body tensed, the color drained out of his face as the name echoed into his ears. His hands clenched, nails digging into his palms hard enough to rip through his gloves. His mind reeled at the information, crimson eyes darted quickly over the boy's physical features and appearance.
Could it be a coincidence? Was Bakugou a common last name and what about how he looks... he's practically...?
"Why are you silent after yelling so much you jerk?! Are you even a real hero?! My daddy said 'extras' like you should all go to hell!" The boy ranted angrily, finally opening his eyes to meet the hero standing in front of him.
Recognition dawned on the tiny face as bright e/c eyes started deeply into his crimson ones. His mouth hung wide open before he quickly slammed it shut and his awe was turned to anger, his tiny fist clenched at his sides as he snarled up at Katsuki.
"Daddy! Why are you playing such a dirty prank?! Wandering off this time wasn't even my fault, so stop being a jerk. "
"HUH?"
Katsuki's mind froze the moment the boy addressed him as daddy, his whole body went cold as he tried to process the information.
"This isn't funny anymore! Let's go home!"
"Kid, I don't know what's going but I'm for sure not-" Katsuki paused upon seeing the look of fear in the child's eyes as he willed himself to push back the unshed tears.
God damnit! I can't just leave him here on the street.
He kneeled down and quickly grabbed the boy and easily threw him over his shoulder. The boy let out a shocked gasp and Katsuki started walking down the alleyway towards the street.
"What are you doing?" Katsuro asked while he looked around his surroundings.
"Taking you somewhere warm."
"Took you long enough."
"Shut Up Runt!"
"You shut up Old Man!"
"HEH!" Katsuki scoffed, growing annoyed at the boy over his shoulder.
An idea swept through his mind briefly before moved his grip towards the boy's ankles and dragged him off his shoulder to instead leave him dangling in the air. The child gasped in shock from the sudden movement as his head was now dangling above the concrete.
"I dare you to say it again." Katsuki sneered, taking pleasure in the brief look of fear that flickered over the boy's features.
The boy twisted around to where he was facing Bakugou before lifting his palms in frustration. Bright explosions crackled and popped in the six years old hands as he swung towards the man holding him, one small explosion managing to actually hit him. However, due to the low impact power, it didn't do anything to him other than cause him to pause at the realization that the boy had the same quirk, no had his quirk.
The civilians that walked around them gawked and gossiped in shock at the abrasive way he was handling the child, he huffed out in annoyance before readjusting his grip on the kid and holding him properly in his arms.
"I don't need you to carry me! I can walk on my own!" He huffed, puffing out his cheeks in frustration at being carried like a child.
"You'll slow me down."
"Heh! You're the one who is slow, asswipe."
Bakugou's steps paused for a moment as his eye twitched in anger, before he compressed the feeling down.
I've never wanted to beat up a child more than I do right now.
Katsuro continuously glanced at Bakugou throughout the walk, taking in the features that were so similar and yet so different from his father at the same time. His mind buzzed while it searched for an explanation in the hero's features.
"What?!" Bakugou sneered, noticing the boy looking at him carefully with furrowed brows.
"Did you get hit by a quirk? Why do you look like your high school yearbook picture?"
Bakugou remained silent to the child's question, his eyebrows furrowed as he pieced together information. This kid was to similar too him, looked too much like him to not be related by blood. The quirk alone convinced him of that fact as if the spiked ashy blonde hair and facial features wasn't enough. This was his child from the future, and for an unknown reason he had shown up in the past. He had gotten lucky to briefly notice the light in the alleyway and find the child, it had his thoughts going on haywire.
If someone had known I was going to be there, it would make sense why I was able to find him rather than someone else.
The thoughts did nothing to settle his restless state of mind, it only caused him to become more anxious and in need of answers.
The silence that remained between the two seemed to answer Katsuro's question even though Bakugou hadn't verbally replied. He turned his head away, sadness clouded his features as he pieced together the information he had and the moments leading up to appearing in the alleyway.
"I'm in the past, aren't I?"
"Yeah." He mumbled back.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Bakugou saw Endeavor and the others in the distance, he used his quirk to propel him into the air, closing the gap quickly between them all while the boy excitedly laughed as the wind blew through his hair. The number one hero eyed the boy with a suspicious gaze before placing a stern pointed glare at his intern.
"You disappeared." He noted flatly.
"Keh! I saw something you missed, an abandoned kid in an alleyway. So much for being able to notice everything even before it happens huh?" The explosive blonde mocked.
"And you didn't feel the need to report your whereabouts to anyone?"
"Would have taken too long. What's the problem? I'm here now aren't I?"
Endeavor sighed deeply while closing his eyes in frustration, already growing tired of the conversation. When his eyes reopened he focused them on the ashy blonde boy who had climbed out of Bakugou's arms and jumped onto the concrete beside him. The resemblance between the two was shocking, if it weren't for the e/c eyes the boy would have been a miniature clone of Bakugou and the thought alone was unsettling for the number one hero.
"Who is the kid?"
Bakugou tensed slightly before quickly regaining composure, however the slight slip didn't go unnoticed by Endeavour. He let out a harsh breath and rubbed the back of his neck anxiously, preparing himself as well as the rest of the group for his next words.
"This is my son-"
"YOU HAVE A CHILD!? IN HIGH SCHOOL!? HOW IRRESPONSIBLE! SHOTO I DON'T CONDONE YOU BEING FRIENDS WITH THIS DELINQUENT!" Endeavor raged, interrupting Bakugou.
"SHUT UP!" Bakugou continued.
"This is my son from the future."
Crimson eyes meet turquoise as Bakugou and Endeavor glared at each other in a silent battle, sharp gasps filled the air at the reveal as Shoto and Deku processed the information.
"Convenient."
"Whatever Old Man, like I need to explain anything to you."
Katsuro had observed the interaction's in amusement, a bright smirk formed on his lips as he laughed happily. Deku had managed to regain his composure from the sudden shock of his childhood friend suddenly appearing with a future child and had made his way over to Katsuro, a gentle smile on his lips as he kneeled down to the boy's height and waved in greeting.
"Hello! I'm Izuku Midoryia, but you can call me Deku. What's your name?"
"Katsuro Bakugou! Are you really Deku?" He questioned.
"Yes, is there something wrong?" Deku anxiously replied.
"The Deku in the future is way cooler."
"Wha-" Deku stuttered before being interrupted.
"Heh?" Bakugou scoffed, instantly irritated at the boy's words.
"Deku? Cool?"
"Deku is the greatest! Unlike you Mr. Number Two! No matter how much trouble he's in, he's always the winner and that's why he's my favorite hero. I'm going to be just like him when I grow up and become the number one hero myself!" Katsuro said confidently.
Bakugou's eyebrow twitched, crimson eyes flashed with anger as he glared at the green haired boy still kneeled on the ground. Miniature explosion's crackled in his palms as he clenched his hands, nails digging into his palms once more while his breath quickened.
Wide green eyes glanced up to see the fuming blonde at his side, he nervously backed away from him while he tried to form words but all that came out of his mouth were anxious stammers and incomplete sentences. The blonde lunged at him suddenly, explosion's bursting from his palms that he aimed for Deku's face while he narrowly dodged the attack, the hit grazed his face causing his mask to rip. Endeavor reacted quickly, restraining the explosive blonde and barking out orders that the team is returning back to headquarters for the day.
Katsuro walked beside Endeavor towards the car that was awaiting them, his arms animated as he punched the air while talking about old fight's he had seen of the current number one hero. Bakugou grumbled as he walked beside Shoto and Deku, he lowered his gaze towards the ground in annoyance as his feet continued to harshly stomp the concrete beneath him.
"You know his e/c eyes remind me of someone."
Shoto's sudden voice broke him out of his thoughts, he glanced over at the boy with a glare as he took in the thoughtful expression on his face and furrowed eyebrows.
"Like I care Icy-hot. Deku! Don't think you're better than me just because of what he said, that's still years away and I can change it. I won't lose to you!"
"Okay Kacchan, I won't lose to you either!" Deku Agreed with a smile before continuing "You know, Katsuro is so much like you."
"No shit, he's my kid. We are practically identical."
"I'm not just talking about his looks. What he said about me, well no what he said about the number one hero and why he's the best. It's almost exactly what you said when we were kids, I see a lot of your drive and confidence in him." He said, awe taking over his features as he spoke.
Bakugou remained quiet for a moment as they walked in silence, his spiky hair covering his expression as he continued to look away from the two boys. His neck burned slightly from the rising heat coursing through his body while the tips of his ears turned a slight shade of pink.
"Shut up and die." He barked out with annoyance.
"Hopefully he doesn't take after Bakugou when it comes to his attitude." Shoto added with a playful smirk formed on his lips.
Laughter filled the air around them as the boys went back and forth with remarks and lightheartedly mocking each other. The tension from earlier had finally dissipated from the group as they descended into the car.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The agency was a safe haven compared to the bitter winter that still raged on outside. The heat instantly warmed up the group as they stepped inside, Katsuro's shivers halted as he began to relax in the cozy heat of the building.
"I can't believe you let your son stay out in the cold for so long without a jacket." Shoto chastised.
"I'm not the one who dressed him dumbass!"
"Still, you couldn't give him your own?"
"Stop telling me what to do!"
Bakugou's eyes found the ashy blonde hair of his son who was happily running around the lounge area. A few sidekicks would share a glance as their eyes darted between the similarities of him and Katsuro, which he would return with heated glare at the noisy employees.
The other sidekicks happily welcomed the child with no questions asked, greeting him with waves and doting on the boy as he introduced himself as the next number one hero confidently. Every so often when he wanted more attention drawn to him, he would show off his quirk and crackle the mini explosions in his palms for the viewer's around him.
"Woah! What a great quirk!"
"You're right! You will definitely be the next number one hero with a quirk like that."
"How flashy!"
Bakugou raked his fingers through his hair as he watched his son be praised for his quirk and the smile that was plastered happily on his face. His thoughts flew back to when he had manifested his quirk and had received just as many compliments that raised his ego growing up.
My mom always said when I had kids they would dish out to me twice as much as I did to her....
....I just wasn't expecting to suffer the consequences so soon.
"Katsuro, why are you wearing summer clothes in the winter?" Deku questioned.
"It was summer before I came here."
Endeavor glanced at the boy, thoughts raced through his mind as his eyes darted towards Bakugou taking in the furrowed eyebrows and his clenched fists from across the room. He shook tiredly before his voice echoed throughout the room as he spoke, the conversations around him stopping instantly.
"I think it's time we understand exactly what's going on here."
Silence filled the air as the tension rose in the room, Endeavor stiffly sat on the couch as he motioned for Katsuro to sit on the couch across from him. Bakugou saw the hesitation that flickered in the boy's eyes and quickly scoped him into his arms before playing him on the couch and taking the empty seat next to him.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
He stroked his beard in thought as the boy continued sharing his memory of the morning before arriving in the alleyway, listening to every detail and examining it.
Bakugou raked his fingers through his hair as he processed the information eagerly being told by his future son. His eyes glanced tentatively toward Katsuro who had risen from his seat in excitement as he talked about his family members' quirks as well as his own.
"Aunt Chihiro was babysitting me since both my parents had to go out to face villains!" He said animatedly "My cousin Suzume and I were playing near the house, there is a big tree that is like a bridge over a small river. Her foot slipped, I went to reach for her but when I did a bright light shot out at me."
"How old is your cousin?" Endeavor asked deep in thought.
"She just turned five a few months ago."
"Hmm."
Shoto stepped closer as he let out a harsh breath, his eyes briefly made contact with Bakugou before glancing over towards Endeavor.
"It sounds like her quirk activated out of fear, but still a time travel quirk and it was her first time using it...There's not a lot of information to go on regarding when he will go back."
Bakugou rubbed his forehead in frustration at Shoto's words, he had already pieced together that information and to have him repeat it out loud irked him. His crimson eyes glanced down towards the boy now sitting beside him again, he didn't look worried or scared about the possibility of staying here for an unknown amount of time which eased the weight Bakugou felt on his chest.
"Time travel quirks are extremely rare though, only a handful have been reported over generations." Deku rambled.
"It's not unheard of though, Katsuro, does your other parent have a time manipulation quirk?" Endeavor questioned.
"No, but my aunt's quirk allows her to stop or speed up time around her."
"So the kid's quirk mutated to a time travel quirk." Bakugou stated, his voice rumbling.
Since the quirk was a mutation and didn't work exactly how the mother's quirk worked, he knew that it would be harder for them to figure out how exactly the quirk worked or if the kid needed to use the quirk again to bring him back it would be unknown when he would go back home. His mind raced at the thought of having his future son with him for days, months even. Anxiety prickled up the back of his neck as he thought about being a decent father.
"It's rather lucky he ended up here and not somewhere random." Endeavor mentioned briefly while glancing at the clock on the wall.
"You're right! It must have to do with the quirk, maybe there's a limit to how far back a person can be sent? Or it will bring the person close to someone blood related to them?" Deku started to ramble.
"Well-" Katsuro started before all eyes darted towards him causing him to stop.
"Keep going kid." Bakugou encouraged while lightly ruffling his hair with his palm.
"Suzume was talking about old year books she saw of my parents before she slipped, so I think since she was thinking of that time is why I got sent here."
"Bakugou your kid is smart." Shoto said with a monotone voice.
"Of course he is, asshole, he's my son."
"I would have figured he got that aspect from your partner."
Bakugou grumbled angrily as Endeavor raised his hand, stopping the bickering from continuing. Turquoise eyes sternly trained on him as he waited in silence to fill the room again before speaking.
"I believe until he goes back home, the safest place for him to be is with you."

The U.A. Class 1-A dormitory stood tall before them, the winter chill starting to bite at Bakugou's bare arms. His mind wandered from the upcoming events of seeing his noisy classmates to his son and his eyes peered over at Katsuro, who was taking in the sight of the campus. The large blazer drenched over his small body in a feeble effort to fight off the cold.
Endeavor had called the school and made the principal as well as Aizawa aware of the situation, giving him as much information as they had gathered from the young boy. When the work study students had reached the front gate, they were met by the tired eyes of the eraser hero.
Shoto and Deku had followed their homeroom teacher into the dormitory willingly while Bakugou slowed his footsteps to a sudden stop. He knew that the reaction he would receive walking in with his son, and was hit with a sudden sense of dread at having to deal with his annoying classmates.
Aizawa's head peaked out from the door of the building, his eyes surveyed the area until they landed on Bakugou and Katsuro's figure. He sighed tiredly before calling out to the two still standing out in the cold.
"Come in, I already explained to your classmates briefly about Katsuro's appearance and stay in the dorms."
Bakugou caught his son's attention as he started to walk towards the building, his feet crunching along the cold grass as he did. Katsuro raced after his father, syncing his footsteps into pace with him as he got closer.
The warmth of the dormitory instantly kicked the chill that had rested over this skin, his crimson eyes quickly surveyed the lounge area as he observed his classmates' facial expressions to see his mini double.
"I heard you have a kid! Where is the cutie?!" Mina mused excitedly as she jumped to her feet.
He jerked his thumb toward the small boy standing behind him, his eyes narrowed as he watched Mina bounce on her toes as she peered behind his figure.
"OMG!" She exclaimed.
"WHAT?!" Kirishima asked, surprised at her sudden outburst upon seeing the kid.
Mina launched herself towards the boy engulfing his small body in a hug as Bakugou sighed and moved out of the way, his feet led him to a resting point and he leaned against the wall.
"HE'S SO CUTE!" Mina sang.
The class gasped at the sight of the six year old boy wrapped Mina's arms, their eyes darted quickly from Bakugou to Katsuro as they took in the obvious similarities the two of them shared in appearance. The ashy blonde hair that seemed to spike in different directions, even though his son's was slightly less spiky compared to his. His lips set in a frown and sharp furrowed eyebrows matched the same expression he was wearing, and the shape of his eyes and nose were a perfect replica of his own.
Katsuro's forehead creased heavily as the arms continued to stay wrapped around him, his e/c eyes burned with frustration and annoyance at the girl beside him.
"Hey, Hag! Will you let go of me now?!" He barked, out causing the room to still in silence.
Mina's body tensed at the insult thrown at her direction, an evident line appeared between her brows as she clenched her jaw.
Bakugou couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips at his son's words. His mouth twisted upward into a smile as he quickly placed a hand over his mouth to hide his obvious amusement from the girl's chilly glare.
The student's had jerked their heads in the direction of Bakugou's laugh that broke the tense atmosphere from moments before. Mina let go of the boy and whirled towards Ochaco with a wilted expression seeking comfort.
"I can't believe he just called me a hag!" She wailed.
Krishima's red eyes wandered to Bakugou's as he sent him a questioning look at the events that just took place. The blonde lifted his shoulders in a half shrug, lowering his hand to show the blatant amused smile playing on his lips.
"Hey kid, I'm Kirishima. What's your name?" Kirishima greeted with a wave and a bright smile.
"My name is Katsuro. I already know who you are! Uncle shitty hair!" He beamed.
Another laugh escaped Bakugou as Kirishima's expression faltered slightly. The red haired boy released a harsh breath while massaging the back of his neck with his hand.
"Glad to know your nicknames live on even in the future." He remarked as he grinned towards his friend.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Katsuro sat merrily on Kirishima's firm shoulders as he led him around the lounge to meet all the students. Bakugou watched from his spot, still leaned against the wall with crossed arms as he took in the slight dimples the boy expressed when he smiled.
His mind wandered as he thought about the few characteristics he didn't share with his son. Even though Katsuro was practically a mini clone of himself, the bright e/c eyes were a stark difference in the two. He watched the boy happily from afar as he ordered Kirishima around the room as curiosity washed over him.
"Woah! Our Bakugou is now a teenage dad, how unexpected!" Kaminari teased as he drew closer to him.
"Woah! You haven't melted your brain today, sparkplug." Bakugou mocked back.
"Ugh! Come on, you have to admit it's funny. Out of everyone here I would rank you lower on the list for the chances of being a teen parent."
Bakugou raised an eyebrow at him as Sero and Mineta wandered over to join the group.
"How so?" Bakugou questioned as he jammed his hands in his front pockets.
"Well, your attitude is so bad that it would be hard to find someone who can put up with it."
"Yeah, outside of this class you don't have any friends." Mineta added in agreement.
"Whoever it is, they must be a saint!"
Sero's eyebrows furrowed in thought for a moment. "I don't think that's true, at least not anymore. Bakugou's competitive for sure and has an attitude, but he always treats his friends good!"
Bakugou's eyes widened slightly at his words before quickly hiding his shocked expression. The others seemed to nod in agreement to Sero's words, thinking back to all the times Bakugou has shown his good side.
"This is making me more curious about who the other parent could be. Do you think they go to U.A.?" Kaminari pondered.
"They obviously aren't in this class, he hasn't acknowledged anyone else as his parent besides Bakugou." Mineta chimed in.
"Ah! I Know!" Kaminari exclaimed, eyes darting towards Kirishima.
Kirishima stood beside Mina, Ochaco, Jiro and Ida as they observed Katsuro demonstrate his quirk in front of them. His palms cracked loudly like firecrackers as sparks popped brightly in the air, a rather big explosion from the six year old's hands made Ida jump back slightly.
"Your quirk is so strong for your age!" Ochaco praised.
"Don't inflate his ego more than it already is, this punk gets praised too much as it is." Bakugou called out from his place across the room, slowly making his way towards his son.
Katsuro blew out his cheeks in annoyance at his father's sudden instructions. He clenched his hands into fists at his sides as he glared up at Bakugou, flaring his e/c eyes.
"You jealous?! EXTRA!" Katsuro fumed.
The sudden silence that followed his remark was broken by the laughter that filled the room as the students beamed happily around them.
"Like father, like son." Sero laughed.
"HE'S JUST LIKE HIM!" Jiro voiced, another fit of laughter escaping her lips.
"It's really a mini Bakugou! He acts exactly like you!" Momo Remarked.
"How does it feel to face off against a younger version of you?" Ayoama teased.
"DIE!" Bakugou roared at his classmates, his nostrils flaring as he sent heated glares around the room.
"Bakugou! That isn't appropriate to say in front of a child!" Ida scolded.
Katsuro whirled around to face the engine hero, still heated from his father's remark from earlier.
"Shut it four eyes!"
"Uh! H-How rude!"
Bakugou annoyance simmered down at the sight of his son insulting the class rep. He let out a sharp breath as he relaxed his shoulders, his mouth twitched ever so slightly into a smirk.
The conversation moved forward as the riotous class settled down, Kaminari approached Kirishima mumbling to him as he gestured towards Bakugou and Katsuro. The red head's face lit up as he raced off to his dorm room, returning a few moments later with a book in his hand.
Kirishima placed the book on the table, opening it to the first page filled with pictures. He gestured for Katsuro to come over and when the little boy padded his feet over to him , he generously picked him up and placed him in the chair.
"What are you up to?" Bakugou questioned catching the attention of his other classmates as they pieced together the situation.
"Amajiki gave me an early edition of this year's yearbook, maybe Katsuro will recognize his other parent in here."
Katsuro flips through the pages, his eyes darted over the portraits of the current student of U.A before his eyebrows become furrowed as he gets to the end of the book.
"I don't see them here..." He mumbled
Bakugou absentmindedly placed his hand on Katsuro's bowed head, waiting a moment for the boy's e/c eyes to turn up towards him before lightly ruffling his hair with his fingers. Katsuro gazed up at him in awe before shaking his head in a feeble attempt at fixing his messed up hair. The soft gaze that greeted him when he glanced back at his father shocked him, it reminded him of how his father would look at him back home in the future and that thought comforted him.
"I'm hungry!" Katsuro stated, changing the subject, a rumble emitting from his stomach as he did.
"Who's in charge of making dinner tonight?" Bakugou questioned Kirishima.
"Pretty sure it's you and Momo."
"Huh? Me? Again?" He gritted his teeth, annoyed.
"What can I say, everyone loves your cooking!"
Bakugou sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, his eyes glanced back at his son who was watching him from his seat at the table.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Mapo Tofu!" The boy exclaimed happily, jumping down from his seat.
The corner's of his mouth turned up into a smile, a sudden jolt of happiness rushed through his body as he took in the bright smile on his son's face.
Of course, he and his son would have the same favorite food.
"Come on, you're helping." Bakugou said as he extended a hand toward his son.
Tiny fingers firmly wrapped around his hand, the two walked towards the kitchen hand in hand. The smiles on each of their faces was seen by their classmates, no one dared to ruin the bonding moment with their mocking.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
(The next few scenes are small occurrences that took place over the week.)
The next few days went by in a blur, Bakugou had quickly gotten used to being a father which had shocked his classmates. Their shock continued when they noticed how good of a father he was at that, the explosive blonde made it seem almost effortless when the two weren't taunting each other.
After seeing the two wholesomely cook dinner together, the class had decided they wanted to keep witnessing the cute bonding moments between the two. Due to that, anyone who was scheduled to prepare dinner the following days would purposely make mistakes so that Bakugou would get annoyed and take over the cooking himself.
"Is everyone here stupid?! Why can't any of you cook?! I should let you all starve!" Bakugou grumbled as he tossed the charred food from the pan into the trash.
He let out a harsh breath as he rolled up his sleeves.
"Move it, ears!" He gestured for Jiro to leave the kitchen, missing the smile that formed when she turned away from him.
"Katsuro! Come help me cook, you are more talented than anyone else here."
The small boy bolted jumped from his seat beside Deku, the movie he was watching being paused quickly before he bolted towards his father's voice. His feet pattered against the wood floors as he excitedly made his way to the kitchen.
The classmate's watched in awe at the soft gaze that overtook Bakugou's face when Katsuro entered the room. Happily observing as the two prepared dinner together, Bakugou assigned his son to wash the vegetables he placed in a bowl before handing them to him.
"We defiently need to keep doing this! Not only do we get to see him being nice, but we get good food." Kaminari whispered towards Jiro.
She nodded her head in agreement as they carefully stole glances at the father son duo in the kitchen.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Bakugou watched Katsuro's face light up with excitement as he watched All Might appear on the screen of his computer. Bright e/c eyes observed in wonder as the retired number one hero saved the day once again in the old clip.
"You know, Deku and I had to fight him in order to pass our final exam."
"What?! No way?! Did you lose?"
"HAH! As if your father would lose!"
Katsuro's laughter rang in his ears as he looked down at the kid sitting in his lap, a lopsided grin formed on his lips at the sight. His eyes wandered to the boy's shoulder where a piece of lint had caught his gaze.
"Well, he almost killed us. I'm pretty sure he broke some bones in Deku's spine during that fight." He picked the piece of lint from his shoulder as he continued.
"Even with quirk restrictors on, he had managed to destroy a whole city street with one punch." He absentmindedly rattled on as he remembered that day.
"That sounds..." Katsuro trailed off.
"Intense?, Cool?"
"Scary..."
"Yeah, it was. Good thing he was the symbol of peace right?"
"Right!"
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Bakugou watched with tired eyes as Katsuro played another round of Uno with Tsukuyomi in the lounge. The sky had turned dark and Bakugou had already gotten himself and his son ready for bed, all that was left was getting his hyperactive kid into his dorm. He yawned as he rubbed his eyes, his body starting to feel heavy and in desperate need of sleep.
"I win." Tsukuyomi stated calmly.
Katsuro grumbled with frustration as he stacked the cards for another round to begin, Bakugou quickly called out to his son to stop him from starting another match.
"It's time for bed, let's go!"
"But it's only 9 pm!"
"What's your point?" He raised an eyebrow at the kid's frustrated expression.
"Can't you let me stay up to play some more?!"
"Revelry in the dark." Tsukuyomi chimed in suddenly.
"Revelry in the dark!" Katsuro cheered happily repeating his words.
Bakougou swooped the boy into his arms, his eyebrows furrowed angrily as he glared at his bird-like classmate.
"Don't teach him that shit!" He barked.
He angrily stomped to his room with Katsuro thrown over his shoulder.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Kirishima and Deku tried to control their whispered voices as they glanced back at the couch in the lounge. They both had been the first ones to wake up that morning and when they came down stairs from their dorm's they were surprised at the sight that greeted them.
Bakugou was sleeping soundly on his back, Katsuro just as peacefully sleeping with his head on his father's chest. A remote lightly gripped in one of Bakugou's hands while the once was placed protectively over the small figure laying on top of him.
Kirishima and Deku shared a glance as they each pulled out their phones, eagerly taking a photo of the two sleeping peacefully on the couch together.
Deku's camera had let out a loud shutter noise as he took the photo, instantly grimacing at the fact he forgot to mute his phone's noise effects.
The noise had made Bakugou's eyebrows furrow as he blinked his eyes open, trying to adjust to the bright light in the room. His eyes surveyed the lounge, settling on Kirishima and Deku with their phones still pulled up and pointed in his direction making his eyes widen slightly.
"RUN!" Kirishima blurted before running down the hallway.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The day's had passed quickly and it was time for the work study students to return to their agencies. The winter chill had stalled as the weather was warmer and not as frigid as the previous weeks. Bakugou was excited to go patrolling, confident that with the warmer weather that he would beat Endeavor to the crime scenes.
However, when they arrived at the agency he had stated they would be using the training room while he went out on his own, causing Bakugou to grumble in frustration.
"He's doing this on purpose! He knows I'll beat him today, that bastard!"
Shoto stopped training suddenly from across the room to stare at him blankly.
"I believe the more likely reason is that you have a six year old with you who can't go on patrol."
Bakugou grunted angrily under his breath as he made his way from the training machines to the weights where Katsuro sat watching Deku train eagerly.
"Deku! Do something cool!" Katsuro cheered.
"HEH! What's so good about him?" Bakugou mocked, while he cocked head up.
"What? are you jealous number 2?" He taunted slyly, his e/c eyes twinkling with mischief.
Bakugou's eyebrow twitched at the mocking attitude thrown his way, his nostrils flared as his hands tightened into fists at his sides. He jerked his head in the direction of the dark green haired boy who was lifting weights.
"Deku - get over here - before I kill you." Bakugou gritted out between clenched teeth.
The hand weights were placed on the ground gently, careful not to drop them under Bakugou's rage-filled glare. He swiftly made his way over to the father/son duo, a nervous smile formed on his lips as he drew in closer to the two.
"Was there something you needed kacchan?" He questioned, swallowing the lump in his throat.
Bakugou's mouth twitched as he cackled at his nervous behavior.
"Katsuro here was just telling me how great you were and said he wanted you to show him something cool." He jeered.
"O-Oh, well thank you Katsuro. I don't think I have anything amazing to show you though." He placed his hand on his chin while he hummed in thought. "Hm, I have been working on black whip. Would you like to see?"
"YES!" He beamed with excitement.
The corners of Bakugou's mouth quirked up in amusement as he watched Deku prepare himself, knowing full well what was about to happen would disappoint his son. He leaned against the wall as he waited for the show to begin, crossing his arms over his chest comfortably.
A black mist formed slightly on Deku's palms, it slowly shaped itself into a line inched its way outward making it about an inch further than the day he performed it in front of Mt. Lady before it drizzled out. Deku excitedly bounced on the balls of his feet as he rambled about how it was slowly getting longer, while Katsuro's excitement fell from his face causing Bakugou's heart to ache just a bit at the sight of how disappointed he was.
"Disappointed in your favorite hero?" He mocked lightly.
"No!"
"Keh, sure you ain't."
"Whatever! Deku might be a loser now, but he's cool in the future."
"Hm, that's a bit-" Deku sadly began before being interrupted.
"How is he better than me?!" Bakugou criticized.
Katsuro pumped a tiny fist in the air as he confidently stared at the two heroes in training. His e/c eyes twinkled with newfound excitement, as a bright smile was plastered on his face.
"Uncle Deku told me he's going to give me the secret of One for-" Bakugou slapped a hand over his mouth instantly, as his eyes quickly darted around the training room.
A sharp breath released from the One for All quirk holder beside him, he ran a hand through his hair as he tried to steady his anxious heart rate from moments before. Crimson eyes looked at him with a disapproving glare as he timidly darted between confused e/c pupils and his own.
The hand dropped from Katsuro's mouth as he struggled against him with annoyance. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked up at Bakugou with a questioning glare and burning eyes at the fact he had been restricted.
"Idiot! Look around before announcing something private. If it's a secret, keep it a secret." Bakugou scolded lightly while jerking his head away from his son's glaring eyes.
Katsuro tensed as his ears dusted pink from embarrassment at his father's words. He ducked his head, his gaze resting on the floor as he felt the heat rush to his face. The thought of him mindlessly revealing a secret in order to boast repeated endlessly in his head, causing him to remain silent as he reflected. A firm, warm hand brushed the plaguing thoughts away as it rested on his head, gently ruffling his hair in a comforting gesture.
His e/c eyes peeked up towards the figure that stood in front of him, crimson eyes peering down at him with a softened gaze. His hand firmly ruffled his hair once more before being satisfied and pulling his arm back down to his side.
Bakugou exhaled slightly. "It's okay... Do you want to see Deku and I spar?"
"YEAH!" He exclaimed, his happy features returning to his face.
"Go wait over there, and you better cheer for me when I kick his ass." He motioned towards an open area while lightly chuckling.
Katsuro dashed away with excitement, happily preparing himself to watch the two boys spar.
"Geez! that was a close one, thank you Bakugou-" Deku began.
"Looks like even the you in the future can't keep a secret. I can't believe you told a six year old about One For All! What were you thinking, dumbass?!" Bakugou scolded with annoyance.
Deku timidly scratched his chin as he thought about his future self's actions. His eyes closed briefly as his eyebrows knitted before he anxiously smiled back at Bakugou, waiting for the scolding to finish.
"What?!" Bakugou snarled, noticing the smile directed at him.
"I was just thinking how great it is that your son is going to be the successor."
Bakugou tensed briefly before quickly recovering his composure before his childhood friend could catch the slip in emotions.
"Whatever."
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The sky turned dark as Bakugou chased the hyperactive child running around his dorm at the agency. Katsuro jumped onto the bed laughing happily as Bakugou grabbed him and lifted him up. He dramatically laid him down on the bed as the boy's laughter slowly started to die down.
"Okay, you had dinner and we got ready for bed. It's time to sleep, we have an early morning."
"We can't play a bit longer?"
"Nope! I already extended it five minutes longer the last time you asked, It's time for bed."
"Okay dad." Katsuro mumbled sleepily.
Bakugou tensed at the word he was addressed by, he still wasn't used to being called so affectionately and it shocked him every time he heard his son call out to him. His eyes softened as he looked down at Katsuro's already sleeping figure in his arms, a smile grew on his lips as he thought about the last few days he had with him.
He never expected to feel so connected to someone else before, and once he met his son he doubted he would be able to be a good father so suddenly. However, being around him felt so natural and taking care of him came effortlessly day by day. Some say it's because of how alike they are, but even though he saw all the similarities between them, he also could recognize the differences.
Deep down he wants to believe that even though his son hasn't been born just yet in this timeline and he hasn't met his future partner, that he still has an unbreakable bond that's tethered between him and his son. That there was a connection that led him to turning back the first day and finding him in the alleyway. A connection that grows stronger each day they spend together and depends on the bond between the two.
His eyelids grew heavy as he rested his head down on the pillow next to Katsuro.
"I love you." he mumbled, voice thick with sleep.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
His hands absentmindedly reached across the bed, filling the empty mattress instead of Katsuro's figure beside him. He patted the empty spot beside him a few more times as anxiety started to break through his sleep filled mind.
Bakugou's eyes blinked open, adjusting to the darkness in the room, he looked towards the bathroom to see no light on underneath the door. His eyes darted across the room looking for a sign of the boy when the corner of his eyes caught it briefly.
A faint dim light barely even visible, fading away. The same light he saw in the alleyway days ago when the boy had appeared. His mind raced as he processed the turn of events in the silence of the empty room.
He's back home.
Relieve flooded his body as the weight lifted off his shoulders and he fell back onto the mattress below. His crimson eyes closed as he tried to force his mind to go back to sleep, but an aching feeling started to creep its way into his thoughts.
The silence of the empty room he now resided in became to still, his heart ached at the fact that in the morning he wouldn't get to wake up his son and see the annoyed half asleep face he makes before finally smiling brightly at seeing him and questioning what is for breakfast like he had the last week.
His mind reeled at the sudden feelings of loss as he replayed the memories he had with his son in his head.
Maybe I should have let him stay up for five more minutes so we could play a bit longer.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The next morning the frigid weather felt as though it came back in full force. The wind blew past Bakugou's exposed ears, numbing them from the chilly cold. He groaned lowly under his breath, thick clouds of air were made visible as they wandered from his lips and out of the high collar of his hero uniform. He noticed dark green eyes would glance over at him every so often from the other side of Shoto's figure, his forehead creased in irritation at the worried glances pointed his way.
"Deku! stop fucking looking at me before you walk into a pole, dumbass." He barked.
His childhood friend's eyebrows rose in shock as his cheeks turned a light shade of pink from being caught.
"Haha, sorry kacchan! Um- just- Are you okay? You know with Katsuro being gone?"
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"Oh, well-"
The conversation stalled suddenly when Endeavor launched himself over the guardrail along the sidewalk, Bakugou and the others quickly moved after him as the faint sound of car siren's met their ears.
The team anxiously prepared themselves for the upcoming threat, propelling through the air while the quick scenery of the city passes by them. The sight of a car crash and a villain floating in the air appeared up ahead as they furiously raced to the scene.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Unbeknownst to them, two figures had been watching from a rooftop building. Crimson red feathers moved slightly from the noisy disturbance down below, sharp golden eyes looking away from the book in his hand to the chaos on the streets.
"Oh, dear... such bad timing." His honey voice said playfully.
He motioned to the figure behind him as he spread his wings and prepared to descend from the roof.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The glass villain rushed down a narrow alleyway at the sight of Endeavor, desperately fleeing to get away. Melted glass rained down to the street from the powerful maneuver the number one hero used. The team raced after the villain as they quickly rushed into the alleyway, a few villain's that had teamed up with the glass villain were waiting by the exit ready to attempt a surprise attack.
Endeavor narrowly dodged the attack as he lunged towards the villain, grasping him by the shoulders and roughly pulling him towards the concrete.
Crimson red feathers grabbed the fellow villains by the collars of their shirts and lifted them into the air. Barely a moment later a flash of ice, Deku and Bakugou had rushed past the winged hero as he caught their targets.
"Huh?" Deku mumbled in confusion when the person he was about to kick was no longer in his field of vision.
"Oh, work study students?" The winged blonde mused.
"HAWKS!?" He hesitated.
Bakugou grumbled angrily as his feet landed heavily on the ground, he pivoted with knitted eyebrows towards the number two hero who was smiling happily.
"Sorry, I was just a little faster!" The hero teased.
Bakugou glanced at Shoto and Deku as they landed, the excitement that was boiling in his veins just moments ago was quickly dying out.
"What is Hawks doing here?" Shoto questioned out loud.
"I thought Endeavor was in trouble!" Hawks chirped.
"Did it look like I was in trouble?" He scoffed.
Hawks landed swiftly in front of Shoto, a teasing smile formed on his lips as his playful eyes glanced at him.
"It did, didn't it, Shoto?"
"Sure..."
"I thought I told you to let me know when you were coming." Endeavor exhaled slightly annoyed at his sudden appearance.
Hawks golden eyes narrowed slightly before returning to their normal carefree gaze.
"Well I just happened to be in the area."
Sirens blared through the air as cop cars raced down the empty street, tires screeching as they came to a sudden stop near the scene. Endeavor and Hawks quickly brought the villains to the policemen and started to debrief them on what had occurred moments ago.
As the police moved the villains into the vehicles, Bakugou watched as Endeavor made his way towards him and the others. The winged hero walked beside him, his mouth turned in a lopsided grin as he talked.
Deku approached the two pro hero's excitedly, his body tensing as he greeted hawks.
"N-Nice to meet you! I'm in U.A Hero Course, Class 1-A. My name is Izuku Midoryia!"
"Ah! You're the kid who destroyed his fingers right? I've heard about you from Tsukuyomi."
"Oh! By the way, where is he?"
"I have him following my sidekicks today, while -" Hawks gestured towards where a work study student stood a few steps away. "Y/N is shadowing me one on one."
Bakugou's eyes widened in shock at the familiar features that greeted him, the bright e/c eyes that twinkled with happiness and the corners of your mouth being turned upwards burned into his memory over the last few days. The voices around him became background noise as his eyes trailed your every move, taking in every playful smirk and hand movement as you talked.
His chest rose and fell with rapid breaths as he realized all the subtle similar features you shared with his future son, the heat rose up his neck to his face and turned the skin it touched scarlet. He quickly ducked his face beneath the high collar of his costume in an attempt to hide the growing blush as he flustered helplessly at your sudden arrival.
"Hey y/n! It's been awhile." Shoto greeted, casually.
"Hey Todoroki! Yeah it has."
Bakugou's eyes darted towards Shoto as the greeting between them had brought him out of his thoughts. He sent a pointed glare towards the icy hot classmate as his crimson red eyes met the mismatched pair of turquoise and gray.
"Bakugou, I told you I knew who the eyes reminded me of. It's y/n, we are neighbors."
"Someone had the same eyes as me?" You questioned curiously.
"Well, to be exact it was-"
"SHUT UP!" Bakugou Growled
"But-"
"I said shut your mouth, icy hot!"
Dark messy green hair shielded your view of the two bickering, a beaming smile greeted you as turned your attention towards the person now standing in front of you.
"Don't pay attention to them y/n. It's nice to meet you, I'm Izuku Midoryia or you can call me Deku."
"Nice to meet you. Um, do they do that all the time?" You questioned while stealing a glance at the two.
"Haha, sometimes... Wait, you go to Shiketsu right? I'm pretty sure I saw you at the provisional license exam."
"Yeah! I'm a first year, but I was able to take the test early with the second years."
The bickering grew louder as crackles popped and simmered in the explosive blonde's hand. Bakugou suddenly turned his head towards you and Deku and angrily barked.
"Deku! What are you saying over there huh?!"
"N-Nothing I swear!"
You tilted your head as confusion took over your features at the interaction around you.
"Bakugou greet them, you're being rude." Shoto scolded.
"Don't tell me what to do."
Golden and Turquoise eyes watched the group from a few steps away, a smile twisted its way onto Hawks face as he let out a fit of laughter. Endeavor let out a harsh breath as he sighed, he shook his head downward at the sight.
"Hm, what's all that about?" Hawks quipped.
He rolled his tense shoulders. "Don't ask."
"It looks like one of your work study students fell for one of mine." He said in a sing-song voice. "Maybe we should drop by more often if it's this entertaining to watch them interact."
"I would prefer if you didn't"
Bakugou's voice suddenly broke their conversation, their attention being drawn back to the crimsoned eyed blonde.
"Earlier, I was faster than you!" He yelled as he glared towards Hawks.

✧ ˚ · . Bonus Scene:
That day turned into night as the long patrol ended for the Endeavor agency students. The team stood outside a restaurant waiting for the arrival of Hawks and his students. After the chaos that happened that morning, it was eagerly decided upon by most of the members that a joint dinner would be a good bonding moment for everyone.
Crimson feathers came into sight as Hawks landed swiftly in front of the group, Tsukuyomi and you landing close by shortly after. You greeted the group with a wave as your feet wandered closer to the three boys.
Shoto and Deku eagerly greeted Tsukuyomi, while Bakugou awkwardly stood next to you. His hands stuffed into his pant pockets and face turned away from you as he watched his classmates.
"Don't tell Hawks I'm saying this, but you're right. You were just as fast as him earlier and just barely missed him." You say breaking the silence.
"Heh. I Know."
"What's it like working beside Endeavor?"
"He's a jerk, but he's the number one hero so I want to learn how he handles things."
You let out a lighthearted laugh, the corners of your eyes crinkled as you smiled brightly at him. He stared at you, his eyes softening slightly before he glanced away composing himself. His eyes wandered back to you, a faint touch of pink dusted his ears as he continued the conversation.
You two talked back and forth over a variety of topics, training, school, family before the group was alerted that the table was ready. His pace was steady beside you as the two of you walked behind the rest of the group into the restaurant.
"Do you have a sister named Chihiro?" Bakugou asked, catching you off guard.
"Yes, how did you know?"
"When you have kids in the future, don't let them babysit."
"W-What?!" You stammered, your step faltering.
Bakugou continued to walk ahead of you, his eyes trained on the group ahead of him and refusing to look back. The back of his neck burned as the pink that dusted his ears grew rapidly.
"You can't just walk away without explaining that?!" You exclaimed while walking faster to catch up to him, desperately trying to sync your footsteps once more.
"I'm pretty sure what I said is easy enough to understand."
His head jerked towards you, his chin lifted upwards slightly as a smirk played on his lips.
"Maybe for you, but I would like some more context."
His eyes over your head for a moment before crimson returned to meet e/c once more. His eyebrows furrowed in thought as he pondered his next words, his mouth opened slightly as he took in a quick breath.
"Friday, 5 pm at Ootoya."
You tensed in response, the quickening of your heart beat drumming in your ears as you process the words he said. He grumbled slightly under his breath at the lack of response and the shocked look that had overcome your features.
"Huh?" You managed to mumble out.
"If you want to know more you can meet me there."
"Like, a date?"
"What else would it be?" He said as he started to walk towards the group who had been seated at the table already.
"You know most people would just ask clearly." You tease as you walk beside him.
His steps faltered as he stopped suddenly, turning towards you. He looked into your eyes confidently, his lips held in a stern line as his eyes slowly started to soften the moment they met yours.
"Will you go on a date with me?"

Bakugou's eyes opened suddenly, he sat up in his bed as the thought that had forced him awake repeated in his mind.
Tsukuyomi knew you and had met Katsuro, there was no way he didn't realize you were his other parent....
Fuck you Tsukuyomi!
