Whatever [Jamie Campbell Bower's] role may be exactly, it is expected to be a major departure from the monstrous Vecna Bower plays on Stranger Things, something he recently alluded to at a fan convention while bringing up a conversation with his therapist about his post-Stranger Things plans.

“I turned around to him, and I was like, ‘to be honest with you, man, I just don’t think I’ll be doing another bad guy for a minute,’” Bower was quoted as saying. “Like it f—s me up. I’m dead serious.”

Not much is known about Marsan’s character either (code name Dromm) besides the fact that he has a brother. Since the role reportedly required a Scottish accent, the English actor could presumably be playing a dwarf.

Celeborn or Witch King? Honestly, he is better suited as a witch king, I believe it is a role he would like to play, I don't see him wanting to be Celeborn. And I don't think Amazon will bring Celeborn any time soon, as they still use Sauron and Galadriel as a way to promote the series.

Just saw about the news "Rings of Power" has cast Jamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan in roles for season 3!!! 😀 I've been a fan of both for years and they're great actors. Jamie's is a series regular while Eddie's is recurring. I do think Jamie is an elf or human, while Eddie is likely a dwarf and possibly Durin's brother.

With Jamie there had been rumors that he had been cast since Megacon Orlando as he told fans that he finally was cast in a non-villain role and was very excited for the project. Seeing the articles, especially Deadline's, that he's not only a series regular but it is for the "high born knight" casting call that was posted in January he very likely is going to be Celeborn, Glorfindel, or Anarion. The show's writers already told us at SD Comic Con that all 3 of those characters will be coming on the show soon and with the time jump it works for all 3.

Now also tagging this as Haladriel as the Deadline article speculated he could be Celeborn and mentioned that Halbrand/Sauron was "Galadriel's love interest". 😏 Some fans might now know this but back before season 1 aired various articles talking about the show all said that he was her love interest, which shocked the fandom as they didn't know the show was going to say that Celeborn died. So very interesting that Deadline worded it this way again as a lot of us are wondering how the show is going to do this not only with them having had Haladriel being a romantic ship, but how popular it is. I always said I hope Celeborn is played by an actor I'm a fan of as I want to like him too and be ok with Galadriel being with him, that he looks a bit like Charlie, is close in age to Morfydd and Charlie, and I am a fan of Jamie and I do see a resemblance. LOL 😀 Will be interesting if the show does go full love triangle as I don't see them ever getting rid of the Haladriel dynamic either, but more that Galadriel is always torn between the two of them and with Sauron always trying to reach out to her all the way till Frodo destroys the One Ring.

But again he very well could also be Glorfindel or Anarion as they should be in season 3 as well.

So again I'm very happy to see these two have been cast and to find out who they're playing. We'll get more casting news soon that will help us figure out more who exactly they're playing and the season's storylines.

I'm not saying that Jamie Campbell Bower IS Celeborn. I'll wait for the actual announcement of the character he's playing because we ALL remember what happened with the speculations last time.

BUT him saying that he's done with villain-roles for now gives me hope. He'd be a perfect Celeborn. He fits the 'silver clam' imagery, but at the same time he has an imposing presence, brings depth to his roles and has great chemistry with his castmates EVERY SINGLE TIME. He also sings beautifully and I've always said that Celeborn should sing to Galadriel. I'm also still an advocate of the show introducing fighting with songs of power.

I will be satisfied no matter whom Jamie ends up playing, but I will be freaking ecstatic if he plays Celeborn.

Time to speculate on this completely innocuous emoji combination that is absolutely not a hint towards his character

99% chance his emoji choice means nothing, but given he knows his character, and a quote in the Deadline article pictured about not wanting to play villains, hmmm...

The only heraldry that fully fits a black heart and a dove is Telcontar, which is obviously not applying here because that's Aragorn's Reunited Kingdoms house. lol

The House of the Wing, Tuor's, has a wing but is on blue, and also Jamie's character is implied to be a main cast regular, so he cannot be a flashback character. That also rules out Eärendil and Thingol whose devices are also superficially similar, with a lot of black and then pointy bright elements

The house of Anarion's device is the classic Gondor white tree on black, no feathers, but the dove also has a branch, but the only other white winged bird is a swan.

If this IS an intentional hint, and he's hinting at Anarion, a swan may have been way too obvious and the dove is a more incognito choice

HOWEVER... Celeborn is of Doriath's royal house, so even though Thingol is his grand-uncle it could theoretically still be a hint to Thingol's device (white winged moon on a black field) that way, suggesting Celeborn?
