but the horrors. oh stars the horrors.

Mojave messes up again and again and again- they're too quick to speak, throwing explanations and justifications up like shields without realizing that the arrows have already struck.

There's an important thing: Mojave didn't realize they were babying Elwood. Similar to Vast babying Rune, Mo was protective because they care about Elwood. But there's a sharp line between protectiveness and treating someone like a child.

Mojave crossed that line. They have been crossing that line. And of course Elwood still cares about Mojave but their attitude towards Elwood does not feel like one between two adults. Pride in someone is not fawning over every single accomplishments like your three year old has just drawn something that looks vaguely like a coherent shape. Even those you love can step on your toes enough for something to crack. And Elwood cracked. But Mojave, understandably, didn't comprehend why Elwood was acting like this. Its easy to step on toes when you can't see your feet.

Then there's Armor and Erin. The two that even though they weren't in full support of Elwood in terms of agreeing, knew that what the Starling was saying was true. But for the most part, they stayed quiet. And then that one time Mojave reached for a leg to stand on, a shoulder to hold to support their wounds... they scratched the hesitant shoulder that was there for them to hold. They called Armor "Atlas"

Armor said it himself: He doesn't care that they knew, he cares that they used it. That name is hers to allow others to use. His to tell others. The mix of shock, bristling fury, and overall, hurt, made Armor flee. Mojave is a box of matches, and they're scorching bridges quickly.

Then Elwood and Mojave fight a bit more. And Elwood leaves. And Erin tries to reach out, to find a nice middle ground, to calm Mojave down a bit.

But that match was still burning.

"Yeah, like you did?" Mojave asked. and immediately regretted. But a frightened cat sometimes only knows how to scratch. And Erin backed away. But unlike Armor, Erin spat back before she left. She called Mojave "Gold". Now I haven't watched the previous stream fully but... Mojave fucked up with this entire thing, huh?

And then they went and cried (and we got the WONDERFUL CMV from Zenni)

I shake these birds around violently in a jar abababa so interested in what comes next-

I also feel like they’d be one of the kids who like… doesn’t find CHB until they’re older and spent a lot of time traveling and fighting monsters on their own. Maybe even finding a younger demigod (Mirasol) and losing them in a fight, which is finally enough to convince them to go join the camp.

If i was hypothetically making an au hypothetically based on rick riordans demigod universe stuff, hypothetically Mojave would be an apollo kid

Im gomna avoid making characters kids of the big three unless it really makes sense so

I think the Avicane would probably translate into Camp Jupiter somehow, so i definitely think Vast wnd Armor would be Roman demigods

Vast probably has friends in Valhalla, which is the magpies, maybe they're kids of a lesser known god, farther down the line of gods?

I can't exactly explain it but i wanna make Sylph norse? Maybe something like they're at CHB but are actually norse because she just doesnt like being norse and wants to be closer to xers friends? Possibly maybe

Rune is mortal, though that doesn't mean he won't be important:]

I think most everyone else is greek, though that may change

The one i mainly thought about was Sylph, who i think is Lokis kid, especially since its often known that they're genderfluid shapeshifters, which just fits them extremely well

Technically this isn't a godly *parent* but! I think Runes an oracle of delphi, maybe even vibing with the Hephaestus kids, but being fully mortal, it feels fitting to me, it gives him a good plot reason to be around everyone but also still being fully mortal and mostly unrelated to the gods. Probably goes and gets tea with Hestia every week though, yk

Nemo and Gavrin are probably both kids of Iris, i feel as if it fits well! The goddess of rainbows often being associated with creativity, which to me just kinda fits, though Nemo could be a kid of Apollo as well

I refuse to be basic and make every nerd a child of Athena BUT... Im sorry Elwood is an Athena kid, listen- you- yeah.

For Taliesin im tempted to say Hecate but i feel like with all the fraud stuff it doesn't fit well? But for now we'll sit with Hecate

Erin gives off either Athena or Demeter kid vibes, mostly leaning Demeter though, especially with the plant stuff, feels right

I know making Virgil a kid of Athena is the best option, but im cool so *no* that bitch is just insanely smart, they're a kid of Mania the god of insanity because HEAR ME OUT. His powers come out through explinations, driving people to insanity by dumping mass amounts of information on them, probably hangs out at the Athena cabin a lot thoigh

Pietro (pieman) i honestly don't know, i was considering Athena (especially because owl), but i actually don't know? So Athena for now especially with the owl stuff, probably has a few owl friends

Armor is a tough one for me personally, i was tempted to go with Apollo but that didn't sit with me right i guess? So Mercury for now i guess? Feels like the best option to me, plus god of trickery makes sense with an eventual betrayal of camp jupiter:]

Where will you turn when your conscience is calling your name? Memories burn, I just watch as they go up in flames (Vast- people asking Vast for the first part upon learning he is an Avicane. Memories burn possibly Kalia or Vast forgetting his victims)
