Using speedrun strats for the only reason that really matters: getting a decent highscore in this silly minigame.

links meet au idea: all of the links are the product of a speedrun. ww link can launch himself across the great sea at a speed faster than sound. oot link uses bombs to get himself to unreachable places and can often be seen floating in midair. tp link has used the gale boomerang to launch himself across gaps
the only exception to this is botw link. who is the only one who had a proper adventure

saw that you like speedrun strats/glitches !!!! do you have a favorite that you like to do/watch? i personally really love botw moon jump LMAO 💖
Never done and never intend to do it but the glitch/exploit of the shrine loading zones for the 100%/all shrines botw speed runs always blows my mind. Both cuz it says a lot about how the game was made but also how much perseverance was needed to even figure that out

A French link that noclips through every shrine (bc apparently botw in French has better times for speed runs?) I love ur tags on that one post kgodkfnekf
French: "What do you mean you don't know how to noclip?"
Bread: "I just don't?"
French: "But you speak French!"
Bread: "Only because it's faster than English."
French: "How can you use some speedrun strats but not the most important ones?"
Bread: "My quest wasn't that big of a deal anyway."
French: "What was your quest again?"
Bread: "To cook bread as fast as possible."
French:
Bread: "I ruined everything by the way. I don't recommend speaking French if you can't understand it."
French:
French: "What the-"

V-chan! Im curious and I been wanting to ask you this for a while but like everytime I was going to do it i just forgot haha
In the last vote you put The Legend of Zelda and I been really curious about it since then, I want to know what games had you play and what games are your favorites of the saga!! 😃 (if you don't mind me asking of course!)
i do own a ton of zelda games and have played them to various degrees (i think the only mainline games i don't own are twilight princess, windwaker & four sword)
i did finish breath of the wild, hyrule warriors: age of calamity, phantom hourglass, spirit tracks and tears of the kingdom (though i'm missing some side content in totk that i'll do eventually)
i did start playing hyrule warriors, ocarina of time and skyward sword and got a bit into those games (i'm halfway through ss, about to do the second dungeon in oot and a few chapters into the og hyrule warriors)
other games i own but didn't play much are the legend of zelda, zelda 2: adventure of link, a link to the past, links awakening, majoras mask, oracle of ages & seasons, minish cap, tri force heroes and a link between worlds
my fav game is skyward sword! i like those versions of link and zelda the most, the music is amazing and the areas look beautiful!
i also had a fun time with botw and it was my first zelda game and one of my first switch games as well! i love doing glitches and speedrun strats in that game, it's so fun!
and age of calamity is awesome as well! i ate that game up when it released! i played through it so quickly and it was the first game i ever bought dlc for. the story there is great and i love it so much <3
what about you, moonie? i'd love to know which games are your favs and which you own/have played! 🥰

i think a fun part of botw was the fact u could finish it literally as soon as u booted up the game but nintendo removing a bunch of speedrun strats in totk is so like. was that not the point?!?!?! was that not a conscious game choice you made???? and its like so obvious that nintendo and other game companies see speedrunning as something bad when it's so obviously the opposite. these people are putting all their effort into trying to get the fastest time on YOUR GAME. like how is that dedication offensive to you? i rly dont get it

I learned how to (sort of) do a speed running strat on BotW and I don’t think I even know anyone else who care about speed running but I’m losing my mind in excitement

since I have spent. a truly upsetting number of hours playing botw and have done p much everything there is to do (besides find all 900 korok seeds and break-the-game speedrun strats & glitches which I can't get the hang of), I'm now attempting a no-fast-travel run and it's honestly really changing how I play the game
like obviously it's much more tedious and if I hadn't already played it to death I think I'd be getting more frustrated taking the time to ride halfway across the map and back all the time, but. since I beat the game that's kinda what I was doing anyway. just exploring
but without fast travel I'm needing to be soooo much more strategic about the order in which I do things and when I complete quests. like first of all (unless it's a major test of strength, which I don't have the hearts/power for yet), if I see a shrine or it pops up on my sensor, I'm immediately going there and completing the shrine, bc who knows when I'm gonna be back there?? I'm also just grouping things together--like rn I'm back in hateno village to upgrade my runes after collecting all the ancient parts I needed, and while I'm here I'll also transfer my stamina into hearts so I have enough to pull the master sword in the lost woods (my next big objective), and I'll also hunt around for some rare ore and stuff to sell so I can save up for the house here (just for funsies). then I have to pick whether to tackle the big bird or the big lizard next.
my last big objective was traveling around to get the ancient horse gear so I could call my horses to me whenever (invaluable when you can't fast travel), and while doing that I stopped by upland lindor to get the best horses. before that, I spent a while in zoras domain doing all the tasks there and beating vah ruta. and I still haven't been to the volcano or desert or unlocked those parts of the map. also, one of the first things I did was go to castle to get some cool gear and dip back out. I am NOT playing this game as intended!!! having fun with it tho!

I am once again craving to play BOTW. YouTube's been recommending speedrun and sr strats videos to me, and I want to learn to bomb fly, it looks so fun.
Also maybe it'll give me the motivation to finally finish the comic i started like a year ago lmao

Question 1: Do you know what wind bombing is? (BoTW speedrun strat)
Question 2: Are you taking sketch requests on your birthday, or do you want a break?

Jesus. Apparently sometime last night ikkitrix brought the record all the way down to 40:18 for BotW any%. Looks like sub 40 is coming up soon. How far are we gonna be able to push this game? It's only been out for a month and three weeks and we’re already down this low.

I just watched sketodara01414′s half hour speedrun of botw and the strats for this game are absolutely insane.
in the context of the story, the hero of hyrule wakes up from a 100 year coma, collects each of the slate’s abilities from the starter shrines w/o actually opening them, launches across the land by leaping off bokoblin’s heads, and flies onto the castle grounds via tree, taking the strongest weapons in the royal family’s armoury before ripping through dark beast ganon’s multiple forms naked.
if they ever make an anime, this is how I want it to go down.

Tip for doing the trials of the sword in botw, just look up speedrunning strats, the ones where people glitch out of the walls, and do it that way. It's way easier and you can finish all three trials with only some hassle.
no we do this like men

Thoughts/experiences regarding PL:A cus I finished the story quests and am now just running around Tryin To Catch Em All
Spoilers below obvs!
- Just gonna go ahead and get this outta the way, cus this has been a trend in Nintendo’s open world games in general - it just felt kinda empty, is all. Felt similarly to BOTW, while I absolutely LOVE it, it seems they were so focused on making an Open World that they forgot to Put Stuff In The Open World HH. I’ll make fun of Skies Rimmed quite a lot, but I do think it did a decent job in providing more content in the world, more stuff to see and explore, even if a lot of the locations were copy-paste. In comparison, PL:A and BOTW both kinda suffered from “The World is Open, but at what cost? (everything ever in the world)” maybe if the game had included more settlements, more folks, just anything to make it feel more… lively, I suppose. Altho I do think having Pokémon in a lot of the world helped in that regard!
- Alright those onions outta the way, I DID very much enjoy PL:A LETS GET THAT STRAIGHT EJFBJD I think it was a MUCH needed breath of fresh air for the Pokémon series! I think an open world format just FITS a lot more solidly with Pokémon than a more restrictive, “have to do this in the exact order needed” kinda format, but I also feel like PL:A’s format in particular helped ease the transition a lil bit! You don’t get the whole world all at once, and even in the sections you can access, there are in fact places restricted based on what “HM” Pokémon you have available. I think it helps make the experience a lot less overwhelming, and it’s also nice, upon getting a certain functionality, to go “hey! I can go to that FUCKING ISLAND IN THE OBSIDIAN FIELDLANDS now! :D” It’s very fun!! I enjoy it a lot!
- Adding onto that last point tho, just a fun fact from my own play through: I um. Didn’t know there was gonna be a Rock Climb functionality HWVDHDVSJBS so when it came to getting all the wisps, pre-Sneasler, I did just. Do the Skiedrim thing where you take ur horse (Wyrdeer) and just jump very aggressively to climb that slope BWVDVJSVDJSV BUT HEY GUESS WHAT I DID COLLECT ALL THE WISPS THAT NEEDED ROCK CLIMB PRE-ROCK CLIMB THAT WAY!!!!!! I FOUND A WAY BFBDJ MAYBE I SHOULD PUBLISH IT AS AN OFFICIAL SPEEDRUN STRAT….
- Characters & plot. Oh man characters & plot are my favorite fucking thing in the Pokémon games and PL:A FUCKIN DELIVEREEEEDDDDDDD BDVDH I’ve posted about her but Cyllene my Beloved. Holy shit I love her so much WHVDJS AND I REALLY LOVE THE APPROACH THEY WERE GOIN FOR WITH PL:A….. it genuinely feels like. A more mature Pokémon game almost? Not in that it’s more “violent” or whatever who gives a shit, but rather the conversations being had felt more… nuanced, I suppose. There’s no Evil Team that Has To Be Stopped, if anything there’s One person who’s considerably more morally bankrupt, but before you realize he’s morally bankrupt he continuously assists you. Helps you. He gives you fucking shelter and accepts you during a time you were ostracized by everyone. God okay I have many feelings on Volo I admit BWVDVHDVSJSBSJ MY PATHETIC RAT BASTARD OF A MAN… whore (affectionate)
- VOLO RANTING ASIDE, the game overall just feels like it wants to tell more nuanced and more meaningful stories. Which. Makes me a lil sad cus I feel like it doesn’t elaborate on certain things as much as it could 😭😭 I felt like I knew a lot about Irida by the end, just as an example, but what’s Adaman’s whole d e a l. Does he just not have one??? No trauma, no doubts about his abilities as a leader, hell maybe he just thinks there’s no fuckin time for All Dat Bullshit BEVDJD No Time For Dat Goku…….. but yea just in general I feel like there were a lot of characters that were given more attention than others, and the characters that lacked attention really lacked attention. I mean. With the popularity of a certain subway boss I’m probably speaking to the choir huh WVDVDJSVH
- SPEAKING OF. WHY INGO DO YA THINK? LIKE OF ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS WHO COULDVE GOT TAKEN BACK. WHY INGO WHDBDJBDDJ honestly my best guess is just that it’s going to tie into the Gen 5 remakes, whenever those are announced. Or like, do we know if PL:A is getting DLC??? Maybe there’s gonna be some DLC in the future that expands on it but who knows! Tho I will say the moment where Ingo helps lead you through the cave and he talks about what he feels is missing… owie ouchie that HURTED JEBDJDN… also very much thinking of a TAZ/Lup&Taako mirror… Ingo not remembering Emmett despite the fact that every time Ingo looks at his reflection he’s seeing his brother’s face… HHHHHHHHH OTL also balding Ingo FTW I BELIEVE IN BALDING INGO RIGHTS!!!!!!!!!
- Playing the exile arc as Six fucking killed me yall lemme tell ya HWVDJDBSJSB… makes the Volo betrayal even harder for him cus the exile arc made him feel like he could trust Volo above all else and it’s like SIKE!!!! YOU THOUGHT WHEVDJDB Am thinking more about Six/Val in Pokémon now tho…………. Hmmmmmmmmmm
- BUT ALSO UH. I DID ALL THE STORY QUESTS. HAVENT GOTTEN TO ARCEUS YET BUT UHHHH DO THEY EVER LET UR CHARACTER RETURN HOME??? LIKE THEY DIDNT JUST FORGET THEY FELL THRU THE RIFT RIGHT. I get how gameplay wise that wouldn’t be maybe the best thing But Also that’s how literally every Zelda game ending ever has functioned So BEBDJDBDJSB PLS JUST GIMME AN ENDING…. SOME CLOSURE FOR THE CHARACTER…….. I suppose I shall see what happens when I Get arceus bevdjdbdn 😭😭
MAYBE HAVE MORE THOUGHTS IN A BIT BUT HERES WHAT I GOT FOR NOW…
