This is part of why there's such a difference in a good Bruce villain vs a good Terry villain. Bruce would have bested Blight in minutes by simply buying him out as Bruce or have devised an anti-radiation suit alloy as a contingency like 2 years ago, Terry literally takes what many people consider to be Bruce's nemesis (definitely his most iconic villain, for better and for worse) that gave him the runaround for literal decades and beats the Joker in arguably his strongest form that isn't just AU shenanigans by just...being his damn self and having fun with being Batman like he always does.
Bruce is stern and hyperfocuses on plans/contingencies, meaning that a total wild card like the Joker troubles him. Compare this to Terry, who's entire story as Batman is basically an improv routine that he not only is good at but LOVES. He will make jabs when it actively puts him at a disadvantage, so give him an opportunity to have it work? Oh he loves that.
It's also fucking insane how Terry refers to Bruce as 'the real Batman'. Because it's so clear how much he's tailoring this just to fuck with the Joker. Terry sees himself as Batman. A major part of THIS MOVIE is Terry proving that he is every bit as 'Batman' as Bruce ever was. But Terry knows that the Joker doesn't see it that way. Joker was obsessed with the other Batman. And if calling that other Batman the 'real one' will fuck with Joker more, then so be it.

#I would like to push back on the idea of Terry being what Bruce would be if Bruce hadn't lost his parents#because it kinda ignores some fairly integral parts of Terry's character (ie juvie and his need to provide for his family and etc)#that Bruce would never have had to go through regardless of if his parents lived. either that or it wouldn't make sense for it to happen#Bruce Wayne the billionaire kid of a genuinely beloved family going to normal person juvie? probably not. a fancy rehab center maybe.#and Terry's experiences in juvie and the delinquency that lead him to that position are inextricable from his character#it's a major factor in his decision to be Batman after Powers is gone. outside of his father's death it's probably the most important#thing that happened to Terry before he became Batman. and it not only informs his own actions but how others act towards him#Barbara mistrusts him in part due to his record. Dana's father doesn't want her to be with him. His own mother sometimes#worries that he's getting caught up in that life again. it's a big fucking deal that Terry went to regular non-billionaire juvie#both to him and to the people around him#even if Bruce's parents never died he would not be like Terry. maybe he'd be MORE like Terry but they wouldn't be that similar

In another (happier) world, I think Muhen would've been Akechi's Sojiro. Akechi would've lived above Jazz Jin just like how Joker lived above Leblanc. Muhen would've taught him how to make the drinks and close up at night. They would've bonded over music. And Akechi would finally have an adult looking after him. Because Muhen does care about him in-canon. He's the only character in the epilogue that mentions Akechi, he notices who Akechi spends time with, and he wishes to see him again.
It's so sad that Akechi assumes nobody cares about him or wants him around and yet this random jazz club owner does. Do you ever think about Muhen seeing Akechi at the Jazz Jin sometime in December, not knowing it would be the last time he ever would

saikis powers are a vital part of him so it makes sense that people who dont know about them cant truly understand his whole self, but its also very silly to me when people act like its the ONLY important part of him... people act like his friends that arent in the know are completely blind to who saiki is, but i feel like that kinda means you missed some major points... he cant keep his powers a secret forever and it DOES matter, but he can still be loved and KNOWN without knowing about them... hes still human, he still has a personality, he still has regular likes and dislikes, etcetc
his friends perspectives on him may have been wrong at first, but they CHANGED... they know him and love him, and theyll KEEP loving him the SAME once they know of his powers...
some people cough cough cough in this fandom like to reduce saiki to JUST his powers and its so obvious that you just. missed everything. you didnt absorb anything from the show, you just saw it and went "ha, everyone thinks hes just a guy when hes actually super cool and powerful" no no no, he IS cool and powerful but look a little closer and at his core he is still LITERALLY JUST A GUY 😭😭😭

I think it says something that Jimmy absolutely destroyed the crew and ship in half the time Curly was captain. Like he couldn’t even get them past 2 full months before breaking down.
Like he really couldn’t be half the man he thought Curly was.
#like I think it’s crazy cause the whole trip from when we start the game is like 6 months#they are only six months into the trip post crash it’s why getting help was so futile#they had to survive another 6-7 with almost no resources sense most actual food resources where blocked off or destroyed#I see people saying they were surviving for six months after the crash or at least five but it’s only two#they were on the ship for 4 months before hand like the time frames we play are extremely small in retrospect#it’s like what 187 days when we get into the game? that’s about 6 months total#like I’m sorry this is also about peop saying Anya was liek 5 months pregnant but I think a big point is the assault just happened and Curly#didn’t react to it correct initially cause like have you seen someone whose 5 months pregnant? #ffxiv#sketch#wol#meteor survivor#zenos yae galvus#adventurer zenos#oh no#its the consequences of his actions#everything is fine until the only man on the star you care about looks at you with the same contempt your father did#(Meteor's not doing it intentionally- its a reflex after he comes back for quite a bit)#and zenos is getting bodied because its been a while since... you know... him being able to really feel anything at all#and no- its not him regretting anything that had to do with varis- just him regretting the thought meteor could look at him like that#little does Meteor know he's emotionally bodying the man he's trying to be cordial with#its a little okay because in how I write adventurer zenos this serves as one of his main wake-up calls to make some changes#and realizing both the mistakes he's made with meteor and that meteor hating him in any way is actually -not at all- what he wants#but not okay on the end that every time meteor does this he has to watch zenos actively dissociate right in front of him#until zenos just kinda autopilots and walks away#the second time (or perhaps third) in the last 11 years that zenos has felt regret to any major capacity-#on meteor's end I just enjoy seeing the progression of the WoL through subtext#and why meteor is willing to even entertain the idea despite how much he hates zenos- his decisions and the path he's walked#is the realization that there is high chance that he could actually be a direct catalyst for zenos' growth#and the realization the wol has that they were the only one zenos has ever genuinely reached out to#besides- i just like the idea of having your equal other half fighting back to back with you- or being able to handle threats you cant#and i find their dynamic neat- of meteor not forgiving zenos but giving him his last chance- and growing to enjoy being around him#and zenos being able to work on moving past being the weapon or the monster- finding the connections he's longed for#and giving himself purpose to finally truly just live- for him to learn to experience and have the freedom to find what he enjoys#(and curiously him having estinien's brand of accidently helping people even in StB gives me ideas...)#but enough tag ranting- ill get to zenos' actual adventuring in another post lol
