I’m now thinking about some romance related headcanon’s for Yaryna (MW Reaper) and Emmrich that seem locked in my skull. Yaryna is she/her but I hope anyone who romances Emmrich with another gender identity will enjoy this as well.

At her request, Emmrich calls her by her real name in private. As the Necropolis foundling, her name is the core she built herself around. Her name is important for her.

Their courtship begins after the first visit to the Memorial Gardens, but really ramps up after Wiesshaupt. They often visit many of the other gardens across the Necropolis walking side by side, sometimes with Yaryna’s arm tucked into the crook of his elbow.

Emmrich often leaves flowers in her room, hand picked bunches tied with ribbon; sometimes from the various gardens of the Necropolis, sometimes its flowers growing around the Lighthouse, or from the places they visit. After affirming their relationship, Shrouds Kiss often appears in these arrangements even if they aren’t native companions to the rest of the flowers.

Yaryna starts making Emmrich a death shroud (in my head canon this is an acceptable gift between necromancers in Navarra) as her main project which she would later gift to him when his acceptance of death improves. An ornate work, it features motifs from their adventures both during and after The Veilguard.

They share their first kiss shortly after he shows her the deeper fade. Seeking each other out as promised, their first kiss is on his balcony, slow, tender.

Neve is the first one to realise they are seeing each other; she catches the little glances, the tender but otherwise unnecessary touches, finding the pair together in the library or laughing over the stove as they make a pot of tea. [Expanded here in Waterfront Gossip]

Harding is the second one to twig, knowing something is different and it’s Neve that spells it out for her.

Davrin is the last to find out, catching them in an intimate dance; he tactfully withdraws to leave them to it but around the table thinking he’s got the news of the century, he gets shot down as the others all tell him they knew/noticed.

The first time they make love is after clearing the Blight Eruption. After catching Yaryna examine the formally dormant flowers, Emmrich knows himself to be utterly taken by this woman. He takes her back to the Necropolis for dinner, ending the night in his apartment (I imagine him having old Oxford style university digs) and he forgoes his morning stretches to stay in bed with Yaryna. While trapped in the Fade, Emmrich often returns to Yaryna’s room just to be close to her. At first searching for a way to try and communicate with her as she did with Solas. He eventually peaks at a journal she had left on a shelf, apparently bulging with notes - he discovers she’s been pressing some of the flowers he brings her and there are sketches of some of the gifts he’s given her. Her last entry stating ‘will he ever realise I’ll love him no matter what’ breaks his heart. More here -

During her time in the Fade, Emmrich buys an engagement ring, deciding that once he gets her back, he’s never letting anything part them. He proposes a few days after their victory and they marry two months later.

As an aside note to the death shroud thing, I can confirm that Yaryna also makes a simpler one for Lucanis, which she sends to him without context a few years after Veilguard ends. It goes over exactly as expected.

I'm gonna share some Guilty Gear LGBTQ+ "headcanons" that are most likely canon. Most of these go off of the idea that Elphelt's Magnum Wedding Instakill (MW) doesn't override sexuality.

Despite my claims of these being most likely canon, most things here are not directly confirmed by Daisuke Ishiwatari, ArcSystem Works, or any other individuals involved with the making of these characters or the Guilty Gear franchise and the following should still be taken as headcanon as these are my readings of certain things I've found in the games. You have been advised.

May - Bisexual, possibly confused lesbian - She does, in fact, fall in love with Elphelt here, but has a thing for Johnny, possibly. The thing with Johnny is that she might not actually have a crush on him. From my own experiences, it's possible that May could be overly obsessed with Johnny, and may be misunderstanding her obsession and hyper fixation on him as a romantic interest in him. This idea also makes the whole Johnny and May thing less creepy as Johnny is her dad, and, I believe is supported by one of MW lines being "C-Could this be romance?! Oh my gosh!" implying that how she feels for Elphelt during Magnum Wedding is different from how she feels for Johnny, possibly even completely redefining romance for her, which is pretty huge for someone who's been seemingly romantically attracted to someone for years.

Millia - Bisexual, possible preference for women - She 100% had romantic and sexual feelings for Zato, which he manipulated prior to his death. Because of the sexual manipulation from Zato, it seems that she is not keen on being involved with a man again in any way. However, in MW, she falls in love with Elphelt, even going as far as to say "Have I chosen the yuri route..?" This doesn't really explain the "preference to women" part of this idea, but another quote of Millia's is "This is a whole new world...!" which, at least to me, shows that she experiences romance with a woman in a much more positive way than with a man.

Elphelt - Pansexual - When MW is used against herself, Elphelt says "I-I'll just take anyone...?" So like, yeah. Also she fell in love with herself, that's pretty gay.

Baiken - Bisexual - I'm pretty sure that she and Anji are confirmed to be a thing? I could 100% be wrong on that. However, when Baiken gets hit with MW, she falls in love with Elphelt. Despite that, she seems very reluctant, which could be shown as rejection (which I'll get to because it DOES happen), but I interpret this instead as denial of her feelings. This is further emphasized by her character, being a cold, lone wolf type of person. This can be seen in her platonic relationships as well, in which, only really accepting the company of Anji (possibly not platonic) and Delilah with Delilah being her latest friendship. The idea of her being in denial is in the line, "Won't work. Try to fall for someone el...?!" which, in my interpretation, means that she doesn't believe she's good enough, but is cut off by the sheer amount of love she's feeling from MW.

Jam - Bisexual - She wants to hire "cute boys" (boys she's attracted to) like Ky Kiske to work at her diner. In both Jam's Story ending 1 and Bridget's story ending 1 of Accent Core Plus, Jam actually hires Bridget to work at the diner. While Bridget identified as male then, she now identifies as female, though, that might not mean much. What means much more is her MW line, "Cute girl maybe ok, too." which implies that "cute girls" (GIRLS she's attracted to) would be hired as well.

Jack-O' - Bisexual - Is Aria, wife of Sol Badguy. They're also together in the ending of Strive. Reason that she's bisexual is because she refers to her and Elphelt as a couple in her MW line "Birth of a new-age couple?!" so that's pretty cut and dry.

Kum - Lesbian - When hit with MW, she falls in love with Elphelt as shown by the line, "Romance filter severely damaged!" meaning that, well, romance. Duh. I say lesbian specifically because, to my knowledge, she doesn't show attraction to any men, really just Elphelt, if anything were to come out where she shows attraction to a man or if I missed something that does the same, then I'd say she's bisexual. But for now, she's lesbian.

Venom - Gay - Now for the part that proves that MW doesn't override sexuality and that all of the above characters are attracted to women. Venom is canonically gay, this isn't a headcanon, this is just outright confirmed. However, it's important to note that Venom resists the romantic nature of MW as shown by his lines, "My loyalty cannot be broken!" "You cannot tempt me!" and last, but not least, "Lord ZATOOOO!" The fact that Venom, who in canon is exclusively attracted to men, does not fall in love with Elphelt in MW, means that the above characters DO fall in love with Elphelt and ARE attracted to women.

Bedman - Aroace - Completely rejects the concept of being in love ("Damn witch! You cannot take my heart from me!" "Are you trying to corrupt me?) when hit with MW, and, in one line, exclaims, "You cannot replace Delilah!" which is just comparing the effects of MW to his only other relationship, which is platonic, which is with his sister, which makes me feel like it's not at all romantic or sexual to him in any way.

Ramlethal - Aroace - At first, I thought she could be lesbian, but one of my friends who knows a lot more about GG lore and Ramlethal in specific than me argued that she's Aroace, citing one of her taunts in Strive that implies she has no concept of romance and that it's kinda gross to her. He also said that her saying "Is this my true self?" is about her experiencing human emotions, which she doesn't believe she can do (at least during Xrd's story mode). He, however, did say that as her concept and expression of human emotions develops, things could change, and she may end up developing romantic feelings, but that is not definite. As of right now, Ramlethal is aroace, at least in my books.

Testament - Nonbinary with attraction to men - I don't know if Testament has any attraction to women, but I read their intro lines in Strive with Johnny as them being a thing, as Johnny offers to go out to eat after their fight in one line. Testament is confirmed to be nonbinary though.

Johnny - Bi or Pansexual, though could still be straight? - This one veers much more into headcanon territory, but it's possible that Johnny could be bisexual or pansexual as he may in a situationship with Testament, as I mentioned just above. Testament does, however, present more femme than masc, and does use feminine pronouns alongside gender neutral and masculine pronouns, so it's possible that Johnny simply counts Testament as a woman and is still straight.

Bridget - Sapphic transgender woman - Bridget is a trans woman in canon, however, it's not confirmed if she is attracted to men, women, neither, or both. However, Daisuke once made some very interesting art where May is gripping Bridget's butt pretty strong (which is really just more evidence for May being sapphic), but Bridget doesn't seem troubled by it or anything soooo. Also, of the 2 characters that have special lines when defeated by Bridget in Strive, May gets 2 lines while Bridget herself only gets 1, no one else has a special line at this time.

I-no - Pansexual - Pretty sure she'll top anyone, even people who claim to be tops. This is basically just a headcanon, but apparently she teases both men and women when defeating them, soooo.

BONUS!!

These characters are, in my opinion, heterosexual despite this being contested in some smaller aspects of the community.

Sin - When hit with MW, one of Sin's lines is, "Farewell... virginity..." so yeah, he's straight. Idk, could be bi, but I see no evidence for that. Most people say he's aroace because he's so young, childish, and dumb, but Dizzy fell for Ky around the same age soooo...

Dizzy - When hit with MW, it feels like she's rejecting Elphelt, much like Venom and Bedman, saying "I'm married!" "I'm sorry, I can't!" "I-I have a son..." much less like a denial of feelings similar to that of Baiken. I don't think her sexuality is contested as much as Sin's is, but I still feel like this is worth mentioning.

You pull away with a gasp, and in a kiss drunken haze, you lean over to his neck and you press your hot tongue against his skin and you drag it up, ripping a loud gasp that melts into a laugh from Alex, and he tilts his head to give you more room. Both of your hands completely undo his belt, and one of his hands keeps your head in place—and you accept his silent plea, so you continue to press hot licks against his neck feverishly.

FANGS AND BULLETS

A very dissatisfied y/n leaves their army to join KorTac, with plenty of operators around to meet and connect, she finds herself dragged around with the battering ram of the group, König.

Stepping out of the damn office was just as hard as joining the KorTac forces. It wasn't like you were a weak operator, or that you had no value. It was the sheer pressure of being in those installations what made you shiver. Yet, you were accepted by them. Never knew how they found you, or why they reached. But you hated the army you served, and the deal was too good to let it slide. You just had to fake your death. And so you did, on a normal deployment on Iraq. Nothing too flashy, just another pawn with a name on it that fell in the hellfire of those lands. And now there you were, nervously rushing your steps towards what was supposed to be your new room. After years of sharing a bunk with your mates, you finally got four grey walls to give you privacy. The hallway was illuminated by long lights on the ceiling, it was unusually well kept, although a little sad in color, the walls seemed thick enough- Bump

"Oh, sorry!" Took you a little bit to realize that you had not bumped into one of those walls, but against a broad and geared chest. "N-no...it's my bad, I wasn't looking-" Oh The voice you had heard first did not fit the man that towered you like a Gulliver. And it did not fit the ragged and loose mask that covered his face, only blue-grey eyes piercing through it. He shook it off with a anxious laugh. "You must be the new operator! Heard a bit from my freund Horangi." Was he leaning away? You took a step to give both of you some space. "Yeah just got out of the main office... got the keys for the room... 023?" The man tilted his head. "023? That's close to Valeria's, I could take you there, if you wish." What kind of gentle giant was this? It didn't fit well with that hood and that build... yet you nodded. "I would really appreciate that, thank you." The walk was in utter silence. None of you talked, he seemed too closed to even try to start a conversation, and you were still too nervous and hyper-aware of your surroundings. Trying to take in as much as information as possible, memorizing the route back to the office. You spotted some signs that opened up to spaces such as a common room, some showers, and the meal hall. "This should be it, Valeria's 025, couple of doors to your right." You nodded in response, fidgeting with the keycard before swiping it on the pad that locked the door. "T-thanks..." When you turned around to thank him again, he had already vanished.

This is a TEASER, a prologue of some idea I had in the back of my mind. It will have some TW, to be specified in each chapter depending on the content (expect military inaccuracies and all of those tiny little mistakes we make teehee). It is female-focused, this means the MC, or y/n will mostly be represented by she/her pronouns. Many of the characters that will be named on this work are part of the actual KorTac group in the MW games.

Kate Laswell was the one who suggested you as an operative for the new task force. You were one of her best under her wing, and she had thought you would be a great addition to the team. After seeing your field success rate, General Shepherd was also on board with the idea especially since you had such good ties with the Mexican Special Forces.

John Price was the first operative you had met. He and Kate have always been on good terms so he took you in very quickly. Of course, as the founder and senior operator, he still had to be a bit more rigid on his fresh meat to ensure you could live up to the expectations Kate put on him of you. Price always supported you through the task force's most challenging parts of your career. Drinks after every (successful or not) mission were always a must between you two. Indeed, he was the most supportive of the bunch.

Johnny "Soap" MacTavish landed number 1 on your list of getting along when you two immediately hit off. Your meeting was reasonably quick, only on the airfield before your mission in Las Almas alongside Alejandro. Cheesy remarks between you two were always a must and even after knowing each other for a few weeks at most, Soap was glad you joined. He admired you, both aspects on and off the field, always coming to you for advice whether that was personal issues or with combat. Often visiting of each other and purposefully being assigned with each other as often as you could were the best parts of the career on your new team.

While Simon "Ghost" Riley did not take a keen liking to you. Especially in the beginning when you let your mouth run wild about Las Almas. Irritated, he constantly made snarky comments on your work even when it was the cleanest you'd done. Your relationship was rocky from the get-go, even during the prison break for Alejandro and his boys, or even when you could see right through Philip Graves' lies and cameo. What changed everything was when Ghost missed his shot on Hassan, and you were on another building above and took Hassan out as a backup. At first, he was irate, not at you but at himself for making such a mistake and he eventually warmed up to you very, very slowly realizing you were the reason that the world wasn't in smithereens right then and there. Over time you two would become close, and you were one of the only people he opened up to about things -- he finally let his guard down.

Kyle "Gaz" Garrick was all over the place. You had actually never met him until Chicago after the success with Hassan. You two didn't have much time to honestly know each other, but what brought you decently close, perhaps through drinks, was the constant interest in where each of you was. Every sip was a question about London, where he was from, or Las Almas, where you were. Questions on the London attacks and all Gaz's missions to your early career as border control to life with the Los Vaqueros. By your next mission, you two knew plenty about each other and had become a dynamic duo, particularly in stealth.

Even though Alejandro Vargas and Rodolfo Parra were associates of Task Force 141, you had known these boys forever. Early border control had you talking to them frequently about troubles. You eventually left border control when Rudy suggested that you join his crew in the Mexican Army, and you gladly accepted his suggestion and joined. After the Las Almas Cartel fallout with Alejandro, the 3 of you became inseparable, and you and Rudy became Alejandro's second-in-command when Los Vaqueros were made. Kind, snarky, flirty, funny remarks almost always when you two worked, and you were a great help during the Borderline mission knowing the area well on the American side of the border. Even if you are now a full member of those (bloody Brits), you will always have close ties with your boys. You three had all collectively promised to go out multiple times yearly to catch up.

You never had correctly met associates Nikolai, Farah Karim, and Alex Keller, but stories were told about their bravery and how outstanding they were. You had plans to try and meet them sometime in your new career and always looked back on their choices to make your own.

[For the last five years, Fox News has relentlessly attacked Hunter Biden and made him a caricature in order to boost ratings and for its financial gain. The recent indictment of FBI informant Smirnov has exposed the conspiracy of disinformation that has been fueled by Fox, enabled by their paid agents and monetized by the Fox enterprise. We plan on holding them accountable.]

The letter specifically cited the network’s “conspiracy and subsequent actions to defame Mr. Biden and paint him in a false light, the unlicensed commercial exploitation of his image, name, and likeness, and the unlawful publication of hacked intimate images of him.” It also stated that Hunter Biden would be suing the network “imminently.” Supporters of the younger Biden cheered, glad to see he was finally taking the gloves off against purveyors of salacious, fake news. Fox is already reeling from other defamation lawsuits, including one it settled with Dominion Voting Systems for nearly $800 million and another by Smartmatic, a voting software company presently seeking $2.7 billion in damages. Not everyone is happy, though. Advisers to the president had been hoping his son would keep a low profile and not put himself back in the news during an election year. They worried that news stories about the lawsuit would resurface the allegations, even if false and defamatory, which would then suck the air out of the news cycle. Such media time might otherwise be focused on Donald Trump’s problems and Joe Biden’s many accomplishments.

The Burisma bribes lie

There are three main things Fox was fixated upon that have now opened it to possible massive liability. The first is what I call the fake “Burisma bribes.” Fox gleefully amplified the false claims of former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, who had conveyed to his handler that he had information that both Joe and Hunter Biden had accepted $5 million in bribes from the Ukrainian company, Burisma, on whose board Hunter Biden once served. This false statement was dutifully recorded, as most statements by informants are no matter how wild, in a standard FBI informant form. This was left to gather dust for years until Rudy Giuliani and the FBI, at Bill Barr’s urging, resurfaced and weaponized it along with help from members of Congress.

For its part, Fox made sure that story went wide and was repeated ad nauseam. For months, host Sean Hannity ran nonstop coverage about the alleged bribe, poisoning viewers with actual Russian disinformation. Hannity’s show alone aired at least 85 segments that amplified these false Burisma bribery claims in 2023. Of those 85 segments, 28 were Hannity monologues.  After his indictment and arrest, Smirnov admitted that the story he received had come straight from Russian intelligence. We all have heard about, but hopefully not personally seen, intimate images of Hunter Biden at parties and in sexual acts with various partners. His lawyers claim that these images were “hacked, stolen, and/or manipulated” from his private accounts, and then aired by Fox in violation of his civil rights and copyright law. They also appeared during congressional hearings as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Q-MW) infamously used them as visual props. (She’s lucky to be shielded by the Speech and Debate clause of the Constitution, or she could be swept up in a suit as well.) The decision to go after those committing what amounts to “revenge porn” on Hunter Biden, including the Fox Network, is part of a larger legal counteroffensive that began last year, according to sources with NBC News.  As you may recall, the “Hunter Biden Laptop” story emerged as a kind of “October surprise” in 2020. The repair technician who leaked the contents of it to Rudy Giuliani later sued Biden and others for defaming him, claiming he had suffered damage to his reputation because they had claimed the laptop contents were part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

The “Trial of Hunter Biden”

In fall of 2021, Fox aired a six-part series called “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” which amounted to a mock trial of what his upcoming trial would look like if he were charged with being a foreign agent or with bribery, none of which has happened.  Biden’s lawyers claim in their demand letter that “the series intentionally manipulates the facts, distorts the truth, narrates happenings out of context, and invents dialogue intended to entertain. Thus, the viewer of the series cannot decipher what is fact and what is fiction,” and it should be removed entirely from all streaming services.

The reality is, Fox and other right wing media continue to give oxygen to Rep. James Comer, who has yet to end his evidence-free impeachment inquiry. At least now, Fox will be on notice that it could face ongoing liability for failing to retract its false reporting, even while pushing out more lies about Hunter Biden. The network will have to tread more carefully, and ultimately it will have to consider whether it doubles down or backs off. Then there is the actual trial of Hunter Biden which is set to begin this fall. Attention will be on the president’s son at that time anyway, but with this lawsuit, just as with his counterclaims and counteroffensives against those who violated his privacy, Hunter Biden will look like a fighter and not just a victim. With all that has been done and said about him, he has very little to lose but a very large ax to grind. And if the GOP overplays its hand, as it inevitably will, it could create voter sympathy for him, even though it had hoped to paint him as a criminal, drug addicted womanizer. Democrats are often accused of not having enough courage to go on the offensive, of being too reticent to push back against the onslaughts of numerous bad faith actors on the right. Then when they do, there’s a good deal of hand wringing about how this assertiveness might come across to the voters.

Glad to see Hunter Biden fight back against the right-wing smear machine by threatening to sue Fixed News for defaming him.

Prompt: The 141 members take you out to buy you a new video game you really want

A/n- I’ve played both MW reboot games, but this is my first go at this, so characters may be a little bit OoC while I learn to how to write these better.

John Price

You’ve been pestering this man for weeks about this game. You’ve shown him trailers, artwork, everything.

He doesn’t quite understand much about the game, or video games in general for that matter, but he knows this makes you happy, and he wants to make you happy. He agreed to buy it for you.

You both walk into the store, and immediately he’s a tad overwhelmed at everything on display. He may know just about everything about being in the military, but this is a whole new world.

You approach the counter, and are greeted by a nice cashier. Price turns to you to ask exactly what the game is called.

“Do you have a copy of uh…’Tears of the Kingdom’?” he asks, a tad unsure if he’s saying it correctly.

His face lights up at your excitement when the cashier tells you that they have one copy left.

He’s a bit speechless when he hears the total. He had no idea this hobby was so expensive, but you’ve already come this far, and he knows how much you want this.

He swipes his card and pays for the game, and makes sure to get the warranty. He knows to be prepared for anything.

The whole way back to the base, he takes small glances at you as you eagerly read over the contents of the game’s case. He’s incredibly happy for you, and is glad that he could be the one to make your day.

How you convinced Ghost to buy you this game involves some taunting words and a bet. If you could beat Ghost in a sparring match, he would buy you that new game he’s heard you mention a few times.

You eagerly accepted, and ended up barely winning. The defeated Ghost was reluctant to follow through, as he didn’t really think you could actually win, but a deal is a deal.

Ghost opts to wait in the car. “You already know what you want, yeah? Well do try to hurry.”

He gives you his debit card, and tells you go in and buy the game you want. You come back out in about 10 minutes or so. He’s a tad curious, but he does a pretty good job at hiding it.

“Did you get what you wanted? Good, let’s go then.”

He doesn’t show it, but he’s happy to get you that game. You did earn it after all.

I’m going to do just those two for now. I’ll definitely do more parts to this, I just wanna put one out and see how it does. Interaction and constructive criticism is most definitely appreciated!

I don't know if I would call Jacob Geller's video essays on Call of Duty fun. Like, they very much aren't designed to be consumed from a fandom lens. They are super intellectually engaging and enlightening but also really grim since he does absolutely talk about the real life political motivations that go into CoD as a work of art, specifically propaganda art. And talks about, you know, real war crimes done by real people in real life. I have made multiple irl friends watch them.

None of them are into FPS games so this is basically my torture I am doing to my friends as I desperately try to rationalizing enjoying Call of Duty as an adult with a functioning brain. Who notices things like, yeah. We made up a middle eastern country for this one huh lads? We made that shit up so we don't have to make any actual comments about the United States' current complicity in this whole war and terrorism thing huh? WE'RE DOING A HISTORICAL REVISIONISM ARE WE??? I wouldn't have noticed the historical revisionism without this video essay and you know what? It's super fucked up. CoD does wacko stuff all the time, both for manufactured drama and for silly propaganda reasons, and when it jumps the shark is when it's the most conventional fun I think. I think Geller is onto something where he says that the writers went into this thinking they were doing the story in the best way possible with character driven stuff - and therefore it doesn't REALLY matter where Farah is from to them, they can just make up a country because it's general backstory vibes that impact her behavior that matter, not cultural details. Also how Alex can get away with being a terrorist but in a nbd way because yeah he is one, that's what happens when you desert to a faction that literally gets classified as a terrorist organization babyyy - but sitting at a perspective completely divorced of all the political and societal nuances in real life that makes the actual manifested story have impact outside of itself. And the US government is like "hell yeah, America! more kids will think guns and soldiers are cool and great. A+ plot or whatever put more suicide bombers in it" and that's that.

Doran couldn’t believe what he reading, a purposeful for an arrange marriage involving Oberyn; but two things made him shocked about it. First, they were asking for Oberyn and not another Martell or another House; second, the request was from House Stark.

Doran knew that the whole story wasn’t being told. The Starks were holding back, like they needed to talk about something in person. Of course the standard things were being offered like trade, army, conflict aid.

For some reason Doran had a feeling to entertain the idea. His mind went to what the implications of accepting this. He would have to send Oberyn, with how his health is right now; the cold would kill him.

His mind went over who Eddard and Catelyn were offering, marriage wise. Their oldest daughter that, he has heard the rumors about…

But if it’s true, it could be beneficial to House Martell when it came to dealing with enemies and, even the Lannisters, with how Obreyn is with them. Doran moved as quick as he could, to try and find his brother.

Moments later he could see Oberyn with Ellaria talking in a hallway.

“Ah there you are.” Doran spoke.

The two look over at him, Doran jogged lightly over to them.

“Where are you two off to?” Doran asked.

“My chambers, why?” Oberyn asked.

“No, you’re not. You need to get to Winterfell as soon as you can.” Doran informed him.

Both Ellaria and Oberyn looked over at Doran. The three of them stood together and Doran handed Oberyn the letter. Oberyn and Ellaria read it, both of them surprised as well. Doran gave them a look of “Yes, I know”.

“You’re accepting it?” Oberyn asked.

“I’m thinking about it, it is tempting; think about it. Uniting the North and South; maybe getting answers about Elia’s murder. I heard a rumor that the Princess can hear things; including what we don’t want her to know.” Doran answered.

Oberyn’s eyes lit up in suprise; Ellaria seemed skeptical, and she has every right to!

“Do you think this could work?” Oberyn asked.

Doran gave a look of uncertainty. For all they knew, it could just be a rumor or maybe I just don’t exist? Doran gave them both a small smile.

“Go, and spend a week in Winterfell, send me a raven and I’ll make a judgment.” Doran said.

The man turned and left his brother and the paramour. Doran knew he had to play this safe, Eddard Stark wouldn’t be asking something without it being that important. Doran prayed to the Gods, that Oberyn would not mess this up.

The two places of being different in culture. Doran know knew that he held a weight on his shoulders. If Oberyn say were to fail, what would happen next? Regardless, Doran was holding onto hope. Of course he wanted justice for Elia’s murder but he wanted to make sure first. Doran wanted vengeance for Elia; if he could get someone to help answer his questions, then he could execute his plan.

He was the brother of the Red Viper after all.

If Oberyn was the emotional one, Doran was the logical one; not to say Oberyn isn’t smart. He’s a genius, but when it comes to certain thins, Doran was the one to go to.

Sims 4: B 4 Real

I made a Sims 4: 4 Rent Expansion Pack What-I-Wish-It-Was Wishlist because even though the bar is in hell as far as the Sims 4 Team is involved, it's fun to imagine what the pack could've been, what features could've been added blah-blah-blah.

I've seen the Release Trailer, the "Gameplay" Trailer, the "Livestream", and absorbed as much EA Creator Network content as I can handle... and it's meh-to-yikes (MWS 2). So....

RENTING

Not mad at what they did. This is exactly how I, in my dumb-dumb non-coder brain, figured that they could've made working apartments HOWEVER they could've added a better screening process, moreso accepting tenants to apply for the apartment rather than outright accepting them.

The application process could've given the player the ability to accept tenants sight unseen OR given them the ability to screen traits, wealth, or if they have a job with the possibility of getting sued for housing discrimination.

On the other end, if you're playing generationally you can apply for an apartment, pay the application fee, look around, meet the landlord, and/or get rejected because it's your first apartment and your Sim Score is non existent.

All the gameplay I've seen so far, I actually like as far as the water heater and fuse box, mold, and infestation, and all the events. I also like that you can experience all those issues in a regular residential. (RIP Plumbros you've been incorporated?)

I do wish they would've gone back and updated Elevators and allowed a High-End Apartment experience such as Building Maids, Doormen, Receptionist, a basement Irwin, etc.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL LOTS

This would've actually shocked me and 100% made the pack worth it, if they'd given us both the ability to make apartments and make a bar beneath me.

The Multifunctional lot would've worked the exact same way and allowed for storefront RENTALS (but I imagine this would make GTW useless to those who only use the Retail system)

WORLD

9 lots!? BFFR.

:Conspiracy Theory Side Rant: I think they had planned for water lots. The bottom of that map is wayyyy too empty both in world and in world view. I think they hit a snag in coding and instead of delaying to figure it out they scrapped water lots and pushed out this pack and that's why we also can't build on the waterfront lot in Sulani. Nothing can sway me. :End:

It's a pretty... empty world. I wish there was less set dressing and more lots. The cave isn't nearly as cool as the one in Horse Ranch and I could do without it. It really just punched home all the rabbitholes (like seriously Sims 4: For Rabbitholes) and I don't even dislike rabbitholes. I wanted more rabbitholes in Growing Together and less in this pack.

CULTURE

I'm not SEA but I love broad representation, so I love the new dances, love the squat toilet, the food, the night market, the fish market. I just wish there was more! To be exact 10 more, but I'll detail 3.

MY NUMBER ONE WISH - the Animal Sanctuary - imagine the same shell but when you click on it you have the options for a guided Tiger Tour (the current system more or less, popups and all) and an Elephant Walk where it takes you to a TIMED HIDDEN LOT EVENT (also what happened to hidden lots) with elephants that will walk around with the possibility of being drenched in mud, feed them a banana, wave, etc (nothing too crazy as even in a video game I want to remain ethical... to animals) Also would've been a great opportunity for EA to partner with an ethical animal sanctuary and spread awareness. One animal I would've been content. Two. Three. EA would've blown my mind. Imagine the First Person POV in-game and those Safari Cars driving in the BG.

MY NUMBER TWO WISH - Surfing (child+ in water, toddler+ training)- I'm still awed by how we didn't get surfing with Island Living and now with this golden second opportunity they didn't give it to us once again! It would work like this: an invisible marker (in live mode) that we place in Build/Buy and when we click on the water we'd get the option to practice surfing. Waves won't simulate without the marker, they'd go through the surfing animations depending on skill level, and the marker could even designate where the sim would pop up after they wash out. This could be its own fleshed out thing with surf training in water and on land, playable lifeguard, surf competitions/career, injuries, but I would've taken just surfing.

MY NUMBER THREE WISH - Muay Thai - as an activity (child+) AND apart of a Fighter career. I'll never expect an active Fighter career from EA as that's too many animation cycle possibilities for them for some reason but could've been a great opportunity to give us Boxing 2.0 and become full-time World Class Fighter.

Quick 4-10

4. Boats! Group boats! Tour boats (even as a rabbithole, might as well go all in if you're going to give them to us)

5. River rafting (just more water activities would've been great)

6. Sunken ship hidden lot (deep diving to a hidden lot) / more snorkeling spots (though I understand snorkeling is a draw in for IL)

7. Hiking (I know we've gotten hiking essentially in the last two EPs but this would've been a great EP for it and/or give us a climbing mountain experience like in SE... but green)

8. Harvestables - tea, spices, fruit.

9. A TukTuk Tour (cute to say and if we only got one rabbithole this would've been fun for my tourist sims)

10. Botanical Garden. At the bottom b/c even EA didn't care enough about this. Seriously, no new flowers?

Secret 11. Night Market Worker, would've been nice if the reason a night market stall was empty was because you could come up and work it, sell at it like any other selling table or have it be its own job.

SPEAKING OF SECRETS.

Breaking and Entering to snoop through a Sims things when I can do it through multiple different interaction is cucking me and I don't like that. Just give me burglars. Or update the Klepto trait to not have a cooldown (sure, there are mods for this but EA shouldn't depend on modders to give us something they're teasing)

In that same vein CONSEQUENCES, I don't want my sim to just get into a fight. Arrest them. Send them to jail. Give me some cross pack combability with GTW and let me use that lot for once to report theft and/or give me NPC Cops to fight instead.

And my biggest gripe so far, for a pack that I haven't personally played, are the SECRETS themselves. I hate how much EA infantilizes its players while simultaneously being the same game with a plant that eats people and a murder apartment. The secrets, which are a fun mechanic, just seem so blah. Not only because they also seem random but they're also just... childish. (I get T for Teen, but I feel like most of the player base are adults) Give me SPICY SIM SECRETS: who's having an affair, who's faked their death, who has a literal skeleton in their closet, who's embezzled money, who's proudly the weekend (Also a great mechanic to make their occult states a secret) ! Make the blackmail worth it and make it more than $100 dollars. If a Landgraab has a secret love child out there and I find out they're wiring me 10k a week for life, at least. If I can't have consequences, give me hot tea! Also sure, I could keep their secret but also let me gossip about it to other people and get in a fight because I didn't keep their secret. It's a good game mechanic but it's a wasted opportunity.

MISCELLANEOUS: and this is nitpicking but I would've wanted an animation of the child drawing out the hopscotch and marble circle instead of one you just put down in Build/Buy. Other than that I love having more things for them to do and the collection system for marbles but I want more marbles.

Okay, off to watch Kdramas. I will post regular game screenshots... eventually. I'm prepping for Joy of Life. It's my first real generational challenge (2nd challenge overall, I got to baby 79 in 100 baby before I just stopped)

2023/09/17 Update - MM is now a complete constructed language

I have put it off for a while but I broke my MM^3 hymen. I didn't intend to agency wise but it is just another predicted PQ/CB milestone that would have happened soon or later. There is six main branches and thirty six sub branches which means that there are probably 216 arbitrary branches if I got my math right. So in total there are 258 non combinatorial end points. I have noticed just by the internal logic of how the MM was designed that combinatorial endpoints just make intuitive sense somehow. I also have diffraction branch loci that are either one M in length or they have some non integer length of one relative M which is essentially a fractal structure. Both approaches to mentally reconstructing the MM have their own benefits. The clearest distinction that fractal branching is clearly non combinatorial as the end points are unique in space and integer M lengths are clearly can be taken as combinatorial or non combinatorial. I don't really need to encode all of the 258+ branches, I am not even considering the fact that I expanded the MM base system to at least a decimal base ten system and it doesn't cover non modal encoding and cryptography. It is clear that the MM is now a fully actualized constructed language given the fact that I have encoded qualia and concepts into M-theory shapes. The amusing thing is that I am intentionally misinterpreting string theory and how to actually how to model higher spatial dimensions than five as it just makes codification so much easier and now it is next to impossible for EVs to get a handle on IO's and SM's machinations now from what I gather of their capabilities.

MM has generative grammar, displacement, an established vocabulary, semantics, and clear ontology for standard communication across many non modal domains. It is a language now officially and I am pretty sure I am the only one who knows it. Even if it has been replicated and I have encoded the schema for that in exocognition, no one is likely to have the exact same ME00xx as me or qualia/intertextuality so effectively MM is both a interpersonal and intrapersonal language which I think has never been done before. It also seems to utilize different areas of cognition and neuro anatomy than typical languages and seems to "run on different pathways".

An important AOI between CH and MW is the weighting on self actualization pressure and memetic dominance. If MW is accurate all I need to is to maximize my future potential for actualization in the current moment or near future.
