This is a reminder to:
Never mention a possible pregnancy/abortion to anyone, especially not through a social media app messaging service such as messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Snapchat, etc.
Delete all period tracking apps and to start tracking using a planner or physical calendar
Book appointments for a form of birth control if possible, or to always carry condoms for yourself and other

Prepping for NaNoWriMo (of sorts) and the project I'm working on got me thinking more and more about how badly I want a TS4 EP highlighting African cultures.
Hmmm... so, how would I do it/pitch it?
A hobbies wishlist/wildlife conservationist pack in a blended world of a city district, a traditional village, and a savanna neighborhoods [with an oasis hidden lot]!

Looking back at the EP idea #4, it really did start with being about fossils and then towards the end became about conservation. Do I believe this was generated by Ai. Oh a 1000% but I'm gonna hold them to the ideas they promoted. I lend fossils more to museum gameplay and that alone could fill its own pack and I like the "Oceania Shores" world and all that possible gameplay. So let that pack be about fossils and this pack be about wildlife [which should've come with 4R but *shrug*].
New "Harvestables"/animals/flowers:
clay from pits, cotton &/or silkworms, geese, desert rose, violets. Gold, other metals, and diamonds spawn in the world.
Possibles for New Skills:
Pottery - that are giftable, sellable to collectors, on plopsy, etc. Same kind of poor to masterpiece qualities. Ability to make urns. Store/catch water [for Seasons/EcoLife cross-pack]. Used as an offering on a shrine. Set as an heirlooms. Paintable/Decorate. Breaking causes auspicious chances [if sim is clumsy or low skill or caused by ghost].
Weaving/Sewing - imo can go one of three or all of three ways with introducing the loom, sewing machine, &/or tufting gun to create quilts, fabrics, clothes, and/or rugs [dk if this should come with a second career for a seamstress or fashion designer, active or rabbithole, or should be it's own GP]
Glassblowing and/or Beadwork - same with pottery but also for beadwork - clay or glass - crosspack with Crystal Creations to introduce new headpiece/mask/glasses designs.
Oneirology - studying dreams, journaling, sharing dreams with others, starting an oral story and sharing/passing down those, astral projection as a reward for the top of the skill, chance of a prophetic dream, meet an ancestor
Update/Expand to Photography skill - nature, street, studio, modern photography
Update/Add on to woodworking table - masks and totems, stools, etc.
Update/Add on to herbalism
Sketching/architecture skill to bring back the drafting table and add regular sketchbooks
Possible new Instruments:
solo drum [no way there's still no bands/drums pack by this hypothetical point that expands on music production], xylophone, shakers, wooden flute, harp, lute, trumpets. Adds options to the music station to record/produce/mix with/from, collab with someone, and add a new design for that station
If the bands pack doesn't already, add ability to write music and lyrics from the beginning, it can be poor to masterpiece, and it can be edited. Also if the bands pack, doesn't add rap & opera, I will riot ... so in the least add rap to this pack! [and kind of makes me want a Theatre/Musical GP]
Wildlife Conservation:
new lot type, 100 x 100 plot in this new world.
Active Career or Ownable Lot - needing the charisma skill, writing skill, and/or maybe handiness skill? vet skill cross-pack?
at least 4 interactive reserves (lions, elephants, giraffes, and flamingos) - could work just like CL with their "barns" or could spawn if you place a marker in river for the flamingos, a certain tree for giraffes and elephants, a rock cave for lions [very much taking from DDLV]. I'd add cheetahs and zebras if they'd give us 6.
Could add a cowplant exhibit and/or introduce a new "endangered" animal that we rescue?
Placeable rabbithole shells with at least 8 swatches for different types of exhibits. AND/OR a marker to set in front of builds to note what it is and give a presentation?
Has guests, staff, offers tours, offer scholarships and ability to apply for grant from our National Leader.
Conversations: talk about eco-tourism, fundraise, film education videos, ask questions, maybe even trait specific interactions for clumsy, high maintenance, erratic, etc.
Give me BB/architecture: strollers, new version of stylist chair that looks like a salon chair, spiral-stairs. More thatched roofs, more round wall windows, clay/mud wall textures, adobe style pieces, high rise buildings, tribal masks and statues, handwoven rugs, carved wooden chairs, stools, clay pots, and woven baskets.
African food (a given) BUT gameplay - if you cook together with an elder [maybe at a certain level] there's a possible "learned family recipe" buff/trait and/or recipe that appears in inventory to set an heirloom/pass down. If sim already has a cookbook or writes one, they can either add recipe and betray family secret or keep it in the family. And if you've unlocked this buff/trait, you can ask other sims about their family recipes or be asked, some might spill and you can choose not to.
CAS: cowrie shells, kente, ankara, kaftans, locs, braids, bantu knots, cornrows, headpieces, makeup, cross pack add headpieces, dresses, and dashikis for MWS,
New dances, music station, and shrine.
Events and Extras: A coming of age event [if they wanted to add something big - preteens], market/harvest [where the community trades and celebrates together], cross-pack add traditions to MSW, a chance to add zodiac signs and the world at night in the savanna could have beautiful skies
Traits: Communal Spirit, Tradition Keeper, Wildlife Enthusiast, Rhythmic, Captivating, Barterer

It's not cold but it's still my fav season, and with Life & Death and Agatha All Along I'm excited for once. Strange. And after a sad summer's end. My computer glitched, fried my hard drives, and I lost everything: my sims, my cc, my work, my mind. Anyways, it's been a time for sure, back to Sims.
EPs are back? New dance, new pet, new book type, new aspiration, two careers: active and rabbithole, meaningful life and death journeys, new skill, new side hustle (? maybe two), classic sim lore, new collectable and traits, cemeteries and crypts, funerals and condolences, wills and inheritance, good grief system, heirlooms, ghost occult update, interactive world with new quest townies (?), hidden lot (?), reincarnation, and there's more!?! This pack is fat af (as it should be) and they've been teasing it for years! I'm so ready for Halloween.
As per usual, thoughts and rant!:
Love the Romanian World, can't wait to update my SimNation map! I just wish the world name reflected it's inspiration.
With wills and inheritance, will someone related always read it or will it be a lawyer townie (possibly from DU?) I can't wait to learn the process of setting one up, filling it, and retrieving it.
The house/portal, reminds me of Grim's Manor from S3, will this be headquarters for the active career?
How did the ghost child die, and any relation to Temperance?
With rebirth, how long will the "special ties" connect families? 2 gens? 3? 5?
Will the crypts cull gravestones in the worlds? [My biggest annoyance was always going to a random house and finding like 6 gravestones]
Will sims finally stop going into despair at random stranger's death?
Can I charge for tarot readings? Can I use the cards on the seance table from Paranormal Stuff?
If I'm a spellcaster, can I summon a murder to my enemies?
Will the pet crow actually operate like a pet? Needing to be feed? How many crows can I have? Will multiple crows interact?
Kissing a ghost, okay... but woohoo? Ghost baby?
Nervous and Olive either better be townies or be on the Gallery!
Will the wreaths be craftable on flower arranging table? [not really holding out for this as they didn't add the flowers from Lovestruck to the table]
Is the music box a hint? Also will it be craftable on woodworking table [they really forget about this thing, but with the new kit maybe it crossed their minds?]
If you die with an atrocious reputation will you automatically go up a tier on the poltergeist track?
If you record yourself while a haunting is happening with a drone, could there be a new video type?
Will there be funeral activities custom to occults?
Probably won't be an option but the option to send the ashes off to become a diamond/jewelry piece or "seed" to plant would've been *chef's kiss*
There isn't much to this rant because imo the team actually did really good for once. And some of the things I want from the pack are so nuanced they're grains of sand. This beats all sims packs hands down and not just because I'm goth. It has something for family players, challenge players, and occult players like any good EP should... and makes Lovestruck look really weak in comparison. It just came out!
I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of zodiac signs but not only is that what mods are for [since I'm fortunate enough to have fixed my PC] but also many more years of the Sims so maybe one day. Spooky/Metaphysical content can always be added - zodiac signs +. horoscopes, oneirology, taxidermy, reiki, haunted woods, spiders, return of "watchers", and covens [ie group spells]. I'm actually happy they went down the rebirth route instead of juggling the politics of good/bad place gameplay [which they could still do in the future if they're brave enough or desperate enough for content].
Also still waiting for Fairies [and Zombies].
Gameplay Trailer Update:
Love, love, love this pack! It's massive on BB and CAS alone. The build/buy hits nearly every category. The CAS has items for nearly all ages (idk if I saw anything for infants). I can't think of a single pack that even comes close to being that full.
The world is good. 14 lots (I thought they'd hide the netherworld/headquarters away but it's just on the map... but thinking about it, makes sense, I believe they characterized the world as a place where life and death intermingle) and I hope that bell tower rings when in that neighborhood!
There is a lawyer townie/npc... kinda bummer that it'll probably have no DU compatibility but I'll live. I wonder if it's tied to the event or the desk? Can I move them indoors?
Still have questions about the tarot - there was a suspicious tent setup in the trailer - can I hire a tarot reader? Can I randomly go get a reading? Will this effect me?
Yes to Woohoo and Have a baby with Grim! .... but ghosts?
Ghost powers look amazing, but not deadly? The evil ghost looks mildly inconvenient at best.
Was that a new craftable planter, or have I just not even looked at the woodworking table in forever?
Coffin woohoo being for humans, makes me wonder if the new coffins will be usable for vampires?
What was with that extra hexagon in CAS? New category? If we ever get zodiac, I wonder if that's how they'll implement it?
All my spooky CC gravestones/urns, plz be an easy update/batchfix!
I hope the soul's journey isn't too easy and I have questions about being reborn into a household (do they know me? Is this like Billy/Willam situation in the Sims?)
The will being in the inventory; can I store it in a chest and hide it in the attic to be discovered when the sim dies... or is it stuck there?
8 humans graves + 6 for the occults (whomp whomp plantsims), what about the Snowy Escape one? And the debug ones? Is this officially more graves than umbrellas?
Are the skeleton hands accessories in CAS or....?
It would've been cool if I don't make/find enough money as a ghost sim to pay my bills, my house gets "repossessed"/npc sims move in and I got to haunt them.

Can't keep myself from wishcasting. With many more years of Sims 4 ahead, I want every pack they suggested and more (and refreshes!). Here are my expectations, wants, and ramblings for each idea.

[Also: so weird and surprising that they didn't bring up hotels, fairies, bands, or specific hobbies which might be my last big asks. My most generous assumption is that these are already in the works and my most delusional is that they'll be game packs (if we ever see those again)]

I picked this one as one of my favs.
Surfing (third chance's the charm?) for toddler+
Swimming update - teach infants and toddlers
Fish bowl/home aquarium update
Volleyball (hobby & sport for HSY and DU)
Turtle pets
Sailing (and being lost at sea)
Yachting (for the rich)
Pirating (because I love pirates)
Underwater lot (for mermaids) and gameplay ( I imagine once you dive [and you're not a mermaid] it'll start a timed event where you have to leave and get air before the end or die? OR have extra scuba tanks in inventory to extend the timer)
Fix the bug preventing waterfront apartments
Crosspack update to mermaids (at this point bring it to base game if need be to update them, mermaids are not the selling feature of IL. Give them the skill tree they deserve!)
Aquarium lot interactions and gameplay for all ages
It's coming off as Jungle Adventure and Strangerville but instead of tombs, sims will "discover" towns/islands and trading goods might help with attracting animals to your aquarium (as PG as possible)
Sea monsters (and integration with Loch Ness from Get Together)
Idk about the submarine, it'd probably end up being a rabbithole and a moodlet (maybe even a chance of death:)

I'm skeptical.
Is this how they give us cars? Please no. This is honestly the weakest of all the ideas imo (on the principle that I feel like it's baiting car fans) and not just because I like my idea better.
Would the "van" be like the "fixer-upper car"? (that you buy in various conditions [broke, working, pristine] to act like a tent and you'd customize it by adding a bathroom, a kitchenette, etc using the mechanic skill in this case or buying the upgrade outright if already in better condition) - I fear this could be the whole pack, no other "car" included. It won't move but it'll be draggable.
How does "life on the road" play out? The most literal, a road neighborhood with lots on it? Instead of 3 neighborhoods, it's 6 streets?
Would the heft of the pack come in with the road destinations stops and events?
What would make this pack different from being "off the grid" - the build/buy? That's not an EP, barely a SP.
What would make it van life? Possibility of bears? Bigfoot or other cryptids? Journaling sights/experiencing? Filming?
How would the mechanics career tie in? Traveling mechanic and his elder townies? Traveling elder mechanic? Mechanic retiring?
If not already a future pack, hotels/motels would fluff this pack out if you really lean into the land travel idea and less van life and/or cruises, if you really just want to add Elder gameplay and the boat could be its own map.
Side: does this mean we're not getting anything elder related with Life and Death? Or maybe the upcoming content is for pre-death elders and this would be for post-retirement elders?
Would be a great chance to add canes (if not already in L&D), dentures, bingo, crossword/sudoku books, water aerobics?
Even putting this idea out there to flirt with the fans who want cars makes cars even less likely to happen.
Real or not, give toddlers those tiny cars and me, motorcycles!

so Batuu but official? or maybe I'm leaning too much on the 'otherworldly' aspect and this is just apocalypse/dystopia/survivor gameplay (*squint*)
This is actually the weakest idea. Van Life at least had some replay value depending on what they add for Elders but this, not so much. Too vague. The world would be cool though.
Will this still be a vacation world? Will the world change (like Eco Lifestyle) into something solarpunk or ecopunk? Will it also be like Jungle Adventure?
Snakes, as pets.
I like the expanded fishing and exotic pets though it could be included with idea#1. EPs should fit in Sim Nation and expand my entire game; and expanding fish isn't enough. It's just too GP and niche.
What could be added? An update on woodworking and painting (crafting and gathering). More harvestables or flowers? Archery/Marksmanship. Pottery. Blacksmithing. The Watcher and Cults [imagine being a cult leader]. Playable daycare, oddly enough.
I don't think they'd add raid mechanics to TS4 but Zombies as spawn npcs [and a Zombie mini-game where you'd have to escape the zombie chasing you and if you lose you get bitten]
Zombie occult with a skill tree. Plantsims with a skill tree.... though I know they can't do EP Occults right to save their lives. They could go the alien route and give us the desperately needed alien update.
Also what happens if the "resource" is managed poorly? Game over? Mysterious crate shipment? Do I fight for someone's shelter and resources?

So Jungle Adventure but Australia?
I want useful museums and bigger items so I'm not mad at this. This could have gameplay across ages and re-playable regardless of being the visitor or the owner.
With the other idea mentioning aquariums, this could go along the lines of fossils for museums / wildlife for conservation parks (new lot type)
Museums could work on a reputation scale and hire front desk workers, tour guides, janitors, maybe rent out "rooms" (from the Gallery) as exhibits, apply for research grants, hold fundraising events, introduce wealthy donor townies, have that useless national leader swing by. Museums could be so much better.
Conservation Parks work along a similar line but hiring knowledgeable caregivers. I'm not even going to dream of EA giving us animations for seven+ kind of animals to watch/play on the same lot. Lucky if we get one or two, but maybe rabbithole illusions [windows, door, set pieces] to give the idea of it that we have to buy?
Would we get larger lots? Imagine a 100 x 100 Conservation Park.
Taxidermy (just because)
Maybe for the education part: new post-grad school and degree (which yes would be DLC for DLC but if we're stuck with TS4 I'll need more than just 2 colleges: post-grad, community, medical, clown, and more degrees) OR create a base game community college / trade school and add post grad for both that and DU degrees.
^^ side rant: my biggest critique of DU is that it could've done more with frats/sororities [and parties]- treated it just like the secret society and have legacies [to be a legacy player playing a legacy was right there] and charity events and having a "rush" task/event
New jungle gyms for kids. Seesaw. Balance beam. Park items. Getting scuff marks and stains or roughhousing amongst kids should loosen a tooth.
If world is based around Australia I either need items that reference giant spiders or ... giant spiders (and a new fear.)

Again we're getting niche and the only thing saving this is that vibrant futuristic cities already exists alongside uncontacted tribes IRL so this doesn't need to be a world that exists in a vacuum like Batuu...... so I'm excited for the world more than anything. More cities please!
Even so, EPs usually introduce a new system/UI usually and I'm just not seeing it with one. Unless they're going full cyberpunk and we'll get a body map to replace with customizable pieces. [but that's really niche, where would it hide?!]
Tattoo Career? Brainchips? Mad scientist?
How will this pack mix with Discover Uni Servos or Batuu Droids?
Robot fighting? > Betting? > Gambling? > Casinos? Are we back?
Will we see the return of the Food Synthesizer? Intro to Hoverboard? Maybe even as things we have to make ourselves? I'm down for more tech and science.
Prosthetics base game update?
Expanded Hacking.
Cinematography and Glassblowing - random, but I can see it.
Update boxing to a hobby/sport or introduce a martial arts.
Update on Science - small microscope, science lab for HSY, ways to do science as a teen. Ant farm return? Train set return? Hypothesizing and experimentation process in a journal or on a white/chalk board?
Motorcycles! How do we still not have this?
I wouldn't mind seeing Errands or Side Quests specific to townies, but what's the end game here? How will this change my Sim Nation?
CAS and BB requests - neon vs brutalism, tech wear, insane masks and eyewear.

Pool/Billiards and the counterfeit machine.
Being a Mafia Boss, making sims sleep with the fishes in game, shaking down sims, having goons, running multiple operations, evading the law, and keeping it in the "family" this could be so funny.
An update on the spy, criminal, and detective careers where they effect each other.
Make jail mean something!
This would create banks and again add purpose to museums (for possible art, fossil, plant, collectable, heirloom theft) - I want to assemble a crew or risk it solo and for it be semi active for planning, giving orders, and hacking.
Simish illicit materials (similar to Riverdale with its jingle-jangle and fizzle rocks) and shady townies.
Cross-pack play with 4R!
Being a vigilante? So would autonomous crime be a thing? Autonomous pickpocketing during a timed event? Stealing from vendors (a loaf of bread)? And the sim has to find out who did it and different outcomes for right or wrong, fighting and/or peaceful? Would the vig-sim get arrested instead?
Con artist? A side hustle to make phone calls, emails, and grift?
Are they introducing crooked cops to base game? To play both sides?
Would you get like errands or PI cases-odd jobs for the stakeouts (and use the photography skill)?
Graffiti update?
Casino possibility again? Motorcycles! Marksmanship?
Burglar return? Alarm system? Lock boxes in banks?

I'll never say no to more things for the kid, but this is possible in game already? Move kid from household with "counselor" into "camp" lot in Granite Falls and/or do scouting, look for frogs, etc. for a few days. Move Back. Done. This way the game would just prompt you first?
What saves this: different types of (horse, science, space, music, art, spy, correctional, tumbling, etc) camp to introduce and the sheer amount of activities they could jam into this even if they stick with traditional camp: river-rafting, kayaking, canoeing, VOLLEYBALL, marco-polo, ARCHERY, scavenger hunts, tug of war, various new paper crafts and recipes, making tie-dye shirts, sending letters home, talent shows, relays, food fights, etc. and the more kinds of "camps" they do the longer the list gets.
^^ so would this become a create-a-camp pack? With similar UI to restaurants/retail?
Also would this be before or after EP idea#4, is adventure camp a given with this pack?
Update scouts to include a cookie drive.
Diving - hobby/sport
Pottery & wood carving
For Teens + active career? semi-active? Would work similar to daycare?
Slasher townies?
Large forest jungle gym. Bungie jump? Zipline?
Preteens and crushes!
Also could this not just be boarding school? It doesn't specify "summer" so when would you send them away? What happens to their grades while away? And if it's boarding school - return of schmoozing to get my kid in.
Also bringing up Granite Falls, plz free this world from its lonely purgatory when/if we get hotels.

Multi-functional lots, but I fear this will break RRs [more than it's already broken] <- [side rant: sometimes sims enter my apartment to disappear in my basement and even after setting up all the rentals I can still see inside someone other sim's apartment].
Everything about this is perfect. I'm not thinking it'll be a "past" pack but rather the world will feel stuck in time [similar to a futuristic pack] Truly a time where no one minded their own business because they didn't have pocket distractions.
This would fix everyone walking around with phones.
Make buying the phone a thing: New phone skins & new earbud skins and put them in the inventory as they should do.
BB requests: boombox, old box computer, a sega, landlines, coupon books.
Getting letters in mail, writing letters as communication.
A regular arcade machine and new games!
Comic book collecting and writing! So painting update or new sketching skill with a simple sketchbook.
Cinematography skill, videos and, hopefully we'll have bands already, music videos.
Would mall cop be a playable job?
Record shops and vinyl collecting!
All the DND clutter! New action figures. The lava lamp.
New side hustle for kids (done two ways: walking and on bike), parttime for teens+. - the newspaper but also maybe even magazines. Active babysitting (possible hauntings happening)
Model career, just because.
That charlatan sim!
Skateboarding.
Strollers.
Break-dancing.
Return of the hacky-sack.
Graffiti update once again.

Despite my ranking, I'm not against this pack. It's going for high society and finer things but even as a modern monarchy I don't see how it fits [within SimNation]
Queen Cordelia lore unlock though.
So do you create Kings/Queens in CAS? Does it start with a quest for the crown? Will the game assign roles if you're not playing with monarchy or will you be able to toggle it in settings? How do heirs work? Will my sim need to get rid of their sibling? Do they fight for the thrown? Are there multiplle ways to claim the throne?
Are there warring kingdoms? Rivalries? Alliances? Militia?
Secrets and scandals in the palace! Palace lot trait? You've given us polyamory so are we getting a harem next?
Can my sim behead someone? Do I go around claiming citizens and collecting taxes or is each world now its own kingdom? Can I, ruler of Oasis Springs take over Tartosa? What about the Leader from the Politician career? Does they just go missing? *wink*
How else does my sim earn money? Or does it just appear?
Will there be class gameplay?
Is this active days of fundraising and philanthropy or rabbit holes?
If ever a pack for the sewing machine to return, this is it.
Model career, just because
Blacksmithing again / Glassblowing .
Would BB just be really expensive items?
Carriage rides (with horses) and wheelbarrow plow (attached to horses for quick harvesting)
Birds in cages, seems fitting.
Will it start with Emperor/ess or King/Queen? Can there be multiple kingdoms in one save? Can I arrange the princess to be the Queen of Willow Creek through marriage?
Would my sim make laws? Would this conflict with NAPs? Can I outlaw magic and be cursed for it?
Can another sim plot to overthrow the ruler? Can I be overthrown by my citizens and beheaded? Will there be a new kind of reputation UI for the kingdom? How will all these systems communicate/work together? Are kings/queens automatically famous?
I just have so many questions and honestly it just feels like another shallow attempt at appeasing players who've been begging for some kind of royalty pack. The cross-pack play would go insane though. Imagine an immortal vampire King.

FURTHERMORE
It isn't just a sex mod! Turbo really revolutionized gameplay with this. The ability for animations to spawn objects (and some posemakers use WW for animations for this purpose). There's an attraction system, you can position your sims to get rid of clipping when posing. There's all sorts of things that WW contributes to the game. I may or may not be a subscriber because of this. Not ONLY do we get all of these gameplay additions, he updates regularly and frequently. Bro doesn't play about his mods. And you know what? I like that shit. I like that you care enough to put out a product and MAINTAIN IT. Unlike the developers of the actual game its for.
Storytelling is nearly impossible without Turbo and I hope he knows that the majority of us know better and appreciate this mod enough not to fuck with the creator when new updates/packs come out.

TS4 Lovestruck: More
As a proud hater who loves to rant, I'm actually surprised by how ready and excited I am for this new EP. From when it was first leaked all the way up until the livestream, I was convinced it was a glorified GP... and it still is tbh, BUT after the livestream and with EA content flooding my feeds, I'm pleasantly surprised by some aspects of Lovestruck and overflowing with ideas for what I would've wanted and what I would've changed

MY LIKES
All-in-all, it looks like a great pack (ie all the things I like, which has a longer list of likes than the last four EPs) and it feels like the first EP in a while where things will happen TO my sim as a consequence of their actions OR at the whims of other sims around them.
Even though I really like it, it's too themed around YA+ with very little teen integration (which tbf makes sense for a love pack) but first crush/supervised dating could've been great for child+ and of course, there wouldn't be turn ons and turn offs for kids but rather regular (but some new) likes and dislikes of superheroes, princesses, dirt, art, music, or "pick on crush" interaction and "why did I do that" buff, or even having it be completely random for them would've been better than nothing.
If I had to nitpick at my likes: the world could've added a new flower or harvestable, the career could've been semi active and include cuddle therapy and random clients to help [and could work similar to the detective career during "interrogation"], and [dips into what I find mid] the consequences could've added more DRAMA for sims outside of a romantic relationship... meaning: MESSY. I want to give my sim the opportunity to lie on other sims' relationships and cause DRAMA without having to kiss or flirt with the partner sim directly and/or tell the truth about seeing a sim cheat on their partner [similar to Trash Another Sim but with new pop up response] and have this new aspect count towards the Villainous Valentine aspiration.
MY DISLIKES
The update to the dating system is bad. It's not that different from what it was before just more micro-manage like MWS. But also the date activities just seem so vague? Does a Fitness date's goaled activities include throwing the ball around, kicking the ball together, playing basketball, climbing the mountain, going for a jog, etc? Will Food dates give goaled activities to eat at a restaurant or cook together or order in?
And the missing activities imo:
No reading/studying [for my nerd sims?]
No shopping [for my sugar baby sims]?
No laundry [for my lazy multi-tasking sims]?
Also why isn't going to do Pier activities or Boba/Thrift a part of the goal in a date or their own options?
I just don't think out of everything this pack could've included we needed the dating system if it was just going to be the exact same in the end, BUT I will say, I do like that you can extend a date, ask how they're enjoying it, and bail on the date. Plus, with all the autonomy maybe my Sim will get ditched if it's going poorly?
And why can't infants, toddlers, and children get lashes!? Explain!
UPDATE: Lovestruck is just a happiness simulator. It's very easy to keep a relationship "Satisfied" and there's no drama. There's no "argue" menu over text. There's no "suspect cheating" or feeling distant. I went days without seeing my partner and no accountability for that as long as they interacted in their romance style the next time they saw each other. I don't like that if you reject moving in together after the first date they never ask again nor complain about it nor does it create distant. It's just a sentiment and not even for the sim that asked!
THE MID
Cupid's Corner not allowing you to catfish or lie about traits is such a missed opportunity and this combined with the Turn Ons and Turn Offs not including more physical attraction *sigh* TS4 team has woked too close to the sun.
Catfishing [while the costume is hilarious and beautifully detailed] could've added more consequences, awkward and mean interactions, a "looking past the lies" chance, and/or be another way to die from embarrassment or anger.
Physical attributes didn't even need to include a Fit or Fluffy option; Beards, Piercings, Accessories, *VOICE*, Eye color [maybe my sim only likes yellow eyes] Makeup, Hair Length, Hats, Tattoos, [Occults*] all come in game and can contribute to attraction without needing to be as sexualized as b**b size, butt size, p*nis size, or body size [which is mod territory]
As far as the other new CAS categories go:
Way of Life could've had: Fame [maybe it'll be there when played with Get Famous], Messy/Toxic [b/c some people just are and like it], Geek [not the same as Academic, will not explain], Spiritual/Devout [mod territory], Introversion/Extroversion [not the same as Interpersonal], and Rustic [not the same as disliking Media and Tech but living off the grid, canning, etc.]
Romance Styles could've had: Dates/Travel [again, sugar baby sims], Conversation [simple, don't get why this wasn't included automatically; if flirting can be a turn on so can talking], Compliments [same], Arguments/Mean [messy sims and booktok girlies, enough said], and Kinks/Fetishes [if physical intimacy and woohoo can be different, then kinks/fetishes and woohoo can be different, and most definitely mod territory]
MOD REQUEST: I'm going to need turn on/turn offs or likes/dislikes for Simdipendent, Llamacrat, Plumbobican [b/c trauma]
This doesn't seem like the pack to have a lot of cross pack play but [what is or what could've been] I'm mostly interested in how this will change mates for werewolves, any added attraction between occults, or maybe the occult sim isn't into human sims.
Outside of occults, we're getting official "gift flowers" which is somehow going to be different from making a bouquet and gifting it romantically. Will there be or could there be a buff for gifted handmade flower bouquets? Will we be able to craft the new bouquets if we have Seasons?
All of this is doubtful.
Build/Buy is meh, so many bars and bar backs [there's a low bar joke in here], highlights: canopies and curtains are amazing, but everything feels small and it leads into my MAIN problem with the gameplay items. Love the nostalgia but it's a bed ... that vibrates... and it's a blanket. Neither of these items are big enough. Even if you try to include the commercial lot closet [duplicate from Get Together] and/or the trunk [basically a dresser] it's STILL too small.
There's nothing new-new like we got with the electricity/water in For Rent, the treehouse in Growing Together, or even the wine maker in Horse Ranch and if it would've included THAT it would've made this an EP for me [though of course, not an EP by TS3 standards].
I understand the budget probably went to the new animations but I would've rather had a new activity over the dating system.
WHAT'S MISSING
Outside of catfishing, drama, and physical attraction...
The dumbbells would've been a great chance for more [especially with Gym dates being a thing] and a nice at home item instead of getting a treadmill or a weights machine [also when are we going to get a modern walking pad].
Magazines / Media App - some way to develop likes and dislikes and turn ons and turn off through gameplay that's random so you don't have to pick it through CAS.
WE JUST NEEDED REGULAR ACITIVITES [I appreciate Sims trying to mature for once but a big date item would've completed this pack for me]: Billiards, 1v1 Soccer with a Net, Mini Golf, Ax Throwing [could've been similar to horseshoe or darts], Hot Air Balloon Ride [ where they go up kinda like with the rocket] Pottery [With an instructor's station similar to Yoga, and yes, a Ghost moment], and Dual or Duel Guitar Hero video game [this would've been so cute]
Long Distance Dating. Kind of leans into some of the catfishing idea and only really works with a mod to restrict sims from one world walking around in another world. I don't think this works automatically as I can just see you spend all that time talking to your match via texts or calls and then you go out to a random lot and they just show up and strike up a convo with your sim even though they've technically never met.
Walking/Hiking while Holding Hands [literally would've cried]
While funny and classically quirky Sims shenanigans, the Seductive Dance needs to chill or at least have a loop that's just two people dancing closely.

Why do we have a Music category likes/dislikes that breaks down into the music genres/types but not similar types for Sports, Books, TV Shows, Movies, Food, Weather, and Games?
Does anyone else think the blurb lore about the " lawn gnome sculptors" could be a pottery hint? What about all the music signs, a bands hint? And the sports jersey, nacho libre wrestler fit, and dumbbells, a sports hint? I think the butterflies are too obvious to be fairy hints, but who knows?

For now, I can't with this save anymore so I'm just going to update on the roughly last 12ish years of her life before picking up a different save (I have SAS; save abandonment syndrome but I'm trying to recover I think) and I'll come back maybe, hopefully, idk.
She was my CC save and there's still my mess of a GT save, HR save, and the JoL challenge save ALL since my complete cc/mod restart and the countless abandoned saves before that (my Barbie Werewolf save, Cam Girl in Oasis Springs save, 100bby save, [literally remembering all the saves I kill off like it's a drive-by] Unintentional Black Widow save, Slayer save, is it Normal save.) I've only seen my starter sim die once and it hardly counts b/c it's 100bby and that was a mercy kill.

Sims 4: Cars (an ai EP Concept)
Yes, I still want cars in TS4. Traveling is just so bad and a bike no longer cuts it. We're a decade into this generation of Sims with no end in sight (as Project Renee, if it even happens now, was promised to run alongside TS4) and I still can't believe that while absent-mindedly playing the game and sending my sim home from visiting the local museum that they have to walk a mile before getting to a loading screen. Wild.
So I get to thinking how would cars even work, realistically, in my pixel world? How would they even be introduced? How hard is it that we still haven't had them yet? Ai, while controversial, is a good tool to replicate the EA EP model to answer some of this without getting too lost in my thoughts of features, nuance, and such.

A CAS for cars - CCAS!
Competing in races! Street racing is a bit NSFW for TS4 team and would probably be a mod OR if possible, a popup event once you get enough reputation or find the street racer NPC or just a sign to click that would take you to a Hidden street racing lot.
More likely, it’d be toned down into a PG NASCAR active career with its own lot (like the studio for Get Famous) and lot specific animations of racing on a track but I could see it. New trophies. New way to be famous. Car repair bay vs car customization bay. New neons. Greasy Clutter. A working garage door (you didn’t give me saloon doors with Horse Ranch, redemption arc?)
Or, less likely, they just make a huge track object like 100x100 and create a new lot-type (but while it would be fun to visit a track as the career-player as a family-player or occult-player it would be a large lot with no real purpose or gameplay (outside of buying a ticket to see a show and that would be a splurge for EA))
If they added a Junkyard and the fixer-upper car from TS2 that would work with the CCAS that could also be a lucrative new business for the sims with rags-to-riches story possibility and Eco Living cross-pack play. I would love this pack more if it gave us consequences like accidents/broken legs, arms, etc to add cross-pack play with Get to Work but that's just too much like life for EA.
The last one is less of a feature and more of things we're able to do with Get Together and examples of possible interactions, preferences, milestones, and events that could be added as well, but overall a great start for a pack!

Now while I'm sold on something like this, I do think that cars are just so huge that even the ai-generated concept is too niche and features 2-4 could simply be a stuff pack or game pack at most and it's really the CCAS that's pushing it into EP level (as demonstrated by the horrific release of Horse Ranch). It also leaves out family-gameplay simmers and occult-simmers and excludes cars from any future updates once behind an EP for some odd reason only EA knows.
So easy solution, CARS WOULD BE A BASE GAME UPDATE*

After loving the concept that ai gave me I went back and asked for features for occult and family players to see if it would give anything I wouldn't expect.
Mundane Family Life Features:
Family Carpool System: Introduce a new family carpool system that allows Sims to commute together to school, work, and other activities. Coordinate schedules, share rides, and bond with family members during the daily commute. Strengthen family relationships and save time on transportation logistics.
Car Maintenance and Repairs: Keep your Sims' vehicles in top condition with a new car maintenance and repair system. Schedule regular tune-ups, oil changes, and inspections to prevent breakdowns and maintain performance. Visit the local mechanic or learn to DIY with a new skill branch in mechanical expertise.

As expected. Most of the family features (1) would automatically (logically) be included in the base game update. Obviously driving around to get your infant to sleep or dropping your kids off at school shouldn't be locked behind DLC.
While I'd want this to just lean more into ways to commute, I could also see that being its own second update/dlc (introducing regular buses, skateboarding, and subway passes - similar it seems to how vitiligo is going to be a two part update)
Also (3) packing up the car (having its own inventory) and driving to a lot isn't much of a feature [and some of the things they listed would just be interactions on a computer] so again, another obvious inclusion.
The second and fourth features are the only ones that could be locked behind DLC and "Road to Racing" would be great for that, fleshing out the remaining lackluster parts of the pack and really drive home a $40 price.
Unfortunately occult players get the short end here, there isn't much to add outside of the haunted car decals and maybe a hearse as a vehicle [this could also be an additional style direction the pack could lean into] More integration with Realm of Magic could be nice but instead of a broom, a magic flying car spell instead? And as far as the vampire idea goes... no, bad ai. That's a terrible feature. Alien abductions though could be cool, but could also be apart of its own alien focused update/pack (we need one; I could also see befriending your spaceship and upgrading it to have a projection of a human or animal).
So those four features (outside of CCAS) would make a fuller EP: a new active career, a new hustle/business, car repair/maintenance, driving lessons, and a couple new events, traits, milestones, likes/dislikes with CAS and BB styles of retro/rockabiliy/gearhead/greaser and/or haunted/eerie/more goth/maybe whimsical and/or old money vibes AND OF COURSE this pack adds eight new cars (+ the hearse)
NEW DEATH: crushed by car (not as traumatic after already being able to fall off a mountain and get crushed by a vending machine)
IMO an EP should add something to every life stage in the game and this one is currently focused on Teen+, so:
Infants & Toddlers: new themed cribs, changing tables, toddler beds, and potties. New car toys. New car seat. [This would be a cute chance to add strollers back in... but this is EA]
Children: EA's hardest life stage to add stuff for. Maybe a car-themed cake recipe and bedroom set with that car rug. Gameplay wise: more play pretend interactions or a new school project of 'What I want to be when I grow up'. Not child-specific but that racing simulator game as an object could be fun for arcade builds. Maybe also similar to TS2 fixer car, a soapbox car for kids+ to put together and race maybe with the help of an adult.
Elders: While there's nothing keeping elders from doing everything in this pack, there actually should be. Elders should need to retake driving test to keep their license, hire a Driver [a new service] if they fail or just don’t want to drive, maybe add a new reward trait [Tough Metal] that allows them to continue working on cars [a very laborious and possibly deadly activity for regular elders].
NOTHING TO DO WITH CARS, JUST WHAT I WANT: for all my sims who hate to read, this is a great chance to add magazines and magazine subscriptions into the game that offer fun, skill boosts, and give random likes/dislikes based on the type you're reading. (EX. Lifestyle magazine: maybe a new favorite color. Cooking magazine: skill boost and/or dislikes cooking. Car magazine: maybe even a way to buy used cars similar to adoption)
MY OUT THERE ASK: A stretch for sure, but I'd also want a cars pack to come with motorcycles.

OH RIGHT, THE BASE GAME CAR UPDATE:
All lots would be updated to be navigable to and from [This is the first impediment to cars coming to the TS4. According to Reddit, I refuse to count them all, there's over 200+ lots and each one would have to be tweaked and tested for each car - QA team where?]
All cars (like 11-12 BG, and 8-10 this pack) would get updated models and be available for customizing in CCAS and I'm talking partnership with Max20 detail-level cars. [This the 2nd impediment to a cars coming to TS4 - imagine, replicating all the debug cars to be functional]
Car parking on home and commercial lots would have to be figured out - does it go in your inventory, is there a parking curb that needs to be placed down, an invisible marker added to worlds to park on the side of roads, off lot? [ideally, yes to all]
With the new break and enter from For Rent, will there be break ins to cars, theft, alarms?
CCAS can only be entered via clicking the car, once you get a car.
Reintroduce School Bus and Taxi [would be cool if all services also got their vehicles back but these two are more important].
Walking if lazy, high maintenance, snob could cause sore feet buff or irritation.
Car has an inventory (obvi)
Dropping off kids and driving around to soothe infants/toddlers. [Also throwing in a BG car seat for infants and toddlers to either be upgradeable via the car or a build-buy object]
Car Woohoo.
Sending my parent sims away on the car via rabbit hole vacation.
Befriending your car [literally does nothing, just funny]
Cars would give need gains or loss depending on state, can also give career or school boost.
Cars can get dirty and need a wash (child+)
Cars can be slept in.
Cars can be searched to find spare change or random items.
I like the nuance that Cars would also have their own needs bar similar to the cow barn and horses, that would show it needing gas
Friends can come by and ask for ride.
Car Keys obj that you get when you buy or register car that can be taken from you when drunk by bartender [if in public] or by friend [if public or private]
Cross-pack play/ideas: Eco Living [hybrid upgrade, flying car, industrial or eco footprint, find car parts] Discover Uni [pay to park on campus, also restrict car access on campus], Get Famous [car collection gives fame], For Rent [new rule to pay for having a car at RR], Seasons [car gets frosty in cold, dust off snow/leaves, can be used to warm up, trunk or treat], Cats and Dogs [used to transport to vet], My Wedding Stories ["just married" in simlish as a decal with bells on the back], Werewolves [that rampage is going to destroy this car], Realm of Magic [scruberoo spell might destroy car/car fire, magic flying car spell, repairio might break car as well or fill your tank], Dine Out [drive-in restaurant], High School Years [spirit week decals, driving lesson class credit or grade boost], Cottage Living [an option to go grocery shopping and come back with grocery bag], Horse Ranch [wild ask: carriage vehicle attachment to horses], Crystal Creations [Junkyard has metals and rare crystals], Vampires [coffin slots into the back of hearse], Paranormal [being in car on haunted lot debuffs fear, except when that car is a hearse], Get to Work [injuries/broken bones, better cops (only in a video game), and alien-sim player initiated alien-abduction)
Will add more if I can think of more, but yeah this would be my perfect Cars BGU to roll out before a Road to Racing EP… also partly why it’ll never happen because it’s massive.
*THE WORLD*
I completely forgot about this! TS4 worlds make me so angry because they're so boring and even more angry because the level of boring fluctuates. At least be consistent, and when was the last time we had harvestables in world or a new insect or even a new jungle gym?
Rant aside, every now and then I just look up fan-made concept worlds to see actual creativity and this reminded me I hadn't thought of a world for this made-up pack! I don't want to see another America based world for like 3-4 worlds down the line. A part of me thinks a Tokyo/Japan themed world, or Monaco/France, Cape Town/Africa, or Kerela/India
What I would like to see is a world emptier than Newcrest with the neighborhoods being vague-ideas like: city, villa, country, commercial to offer ideas to builders but not like all the set dressing we see in our last worlds. I want 14 (but it’s really like 16) lots: 5 lots with a river/beach that’s swimmable, 5 lots with a kids area and parking lot, and 4 lots with a Junkyard "interactive shell" or, in a perfect world, a Junkyard lot-type, and let’s not forget the NASCAR “studio” lot and/or Street Racing hidden lot. Also it should go without saying but lots of roads and maybe an empty/sparse car lot so teens can practice driving.
World name: ?
World interaction: two new metals, a gem, a flower, and a new harvestable. Might seem random but I'd like to see figs added and of course, fig inspired dishes. Figs attract wasps and that could be a new insect they introduce [with a new fear, buffs, consequences when stung]. For the metals and gem, they can go wild here. I don't care what they're called as they've always been inventive when it came down to the metals and gems already in game. Not only could it be used in car repair/fixer up or decoration/ornamentation but also would go great with the new Crystal Creations [as I expect them to continue adding more metals and gems now that they have a purpose] and any new flower!
(The flower led to a whole different spiral. Outside of being a florist and using flowers that way, I wish they'd do a Painting overhaul to either need to buy paints or create paints out of flowers, fruits, etc but maybe if we ever get proper clay/pottery/sculpting the overhaul could happen then as well)
*WORLD UPDATE*
At the same time, I'd love an update to the UI starter menu so that instead of a new game loading CAS it'll load the seasons selection first [if you have seasons] and then it'd take you to the world map, singular. I want all worlds connected on one map and then each new world would build upon or unlock/change the current map.... then from there you can select if you want to play a premade family or enter CAS.

Sims 4: Burglars
The more I think about burglars (official burglars) the more I become convinced it might never happen, especially the way I want them... and it just makes me want them more. So to get out of this spiral, I'm doing what I always I do... think about the mechanics as if they were real.

A perfect world this would add npc burglars, npc cops, npc lawyers and overhaul/update the criminal career, detective career , law career, maybe even the spy career.
My ideas are merely a mix of Carl's Burglars, NC4T's Be a Burglar, RVSN Piggy Banks, Sacrifical's Extreme Violence, bits of Basemental Gangs and SimRealist's Financial Centers, and a heavy heap of Payday 3 [without the police shootouts, snipers, and hostages (maybe)]
For starters, we need something to protect - safes, banks, vaults
Whether residential, residential rental, rental, or just retail sure our big things (tv, couches, etc) are a go to for the common TS3 Burglar but the TS4 Burglar wants your cash, jewels, and electronics first
The GF vault would be something to break into obviously (at high levels) but we also need smaller things like bags/cases of money just lying around, bedroom safes, lockboxes, secret hollow books, piggy banks, wallets, and jewelry
Would apply on bank lots [but with gold bars, palettes of cash, deposit boxes] and any retail lot with a safe or register
Now the "protector" - an alarm system
the classic alarm but also maybe I want my alarm to be quacking ducks so sound options
automatically sets when house is empty or manually set by sim
upgradable: unbreakable, smart house, to be automatic, window sensor, etc
works on retail lots / has a retail lot variant
smart alarm has an app on a sim phone, even if you're away there's a chance your house gets broken into and a possibility of them fleeing without stealing anything
will deter even active burglars if they don't hack
NPC Burglars / NPC Cops / NPC Lawyer
NPC Burglars steal your stuff
Fight or Call Cops, even if you fight them you can decide if you want to file a report at the station [GTW compatibility] or a rabbithole or worse, risk them coming back
You file a report: you may see an NPC Cop walking up and down your "street" (loaded lot space) which may prevent another break-in for a few days
There's further nuance that could be added like "identifying out of a lineup", "pressing charges" (added gameplay with DU's Law Career / NPC Lawyer), etc but that's a bit meh for my gameplay and as far as the spiral goes for that
Being the Burglar
Sure EA thought they were doing something when they gave us the ability to break in with the 4Rent pack but honestly when my sim whipped it out for the first time I was just like where the F**K did you get that - and this sparked another spiral.
Burglary skill - 10 level skill - low skill your sim will freak out at an alarm / high skill they will be unbothered and shut it down before the NPC cop comes (also a lot of the high end skill set deals with the Spy Career and Criminal Career)
* Break in - barehanded *
* (at door)- a tweak to the animation where instead of magical crowbar they use their shoulder (that way theoretically every sim can break in but low burglar and low fitness and that door is not budging) HOWEVER:
^this will get NPC Cop called, so maybe enough time to take an item or two if you get in, and NPC Cop will show up on lot to "apprehend" you; if you have high enough fitness you can try to take him down but if you're caught there's also a chance if you have high enough charisma and low burglary "to ask to be let go" which may or may not happen OR it's just better sometimes to get off the lot
^so you've been caught and have GTW and DU, your inventory gets cleared (??), you get processed and booked and you're in jail. You can call your lawyer (if you have one - this adds a bit more gameplay playing a Lawyer through DU but that's not really relevant in a section about the burglar) and/or get one assigned NPC Lawyer, and you either charged and released (get most of your items back in a bag), bail out, or you're just in that b***ch (UNLESS.... I'll get to that later) until a rabbithole trial/court/whatever (if you're a repeat offender). THIS NEVER NEEDS TO BE ACTIVE, who wants to sit in court as the one on trial IN A VIDEO GAME?? and if found guilty, you're going to sim jail for a few sim days (UNLESS). IF I'm losing hope for burglar there's no way in hell the TS4 Team would ever do Prison [if you want to play an active prison, you'll need a mod lot trait or imagination on a residential/RR lot]
^so you've been caught and have GTW, same but only an NPC Lawyer as the DU Law Update would give you the ability to be someone's lawyer / be picked as lawyer / pick a lawyer
^so you've been caught and you don't have either, you're taken to a rabbithole and get a few chance cards womp womp
^now lets get back to those "UNLESS" - you break out. Either playing on the station lot or playing without the lot as a chance card or in a household of other sims that you also play you'll get the chance to escape if you have the right skill combination, correct chance card path, and/or the right tools
* Break in - rock *
(at window) - is there a more nuanced version where you break in barehanded through the window yes and is there an even more nuanced version where you get hurt by the glass yes but that's two nuances too many BUT if you have HSY, and a house has that special window you can instead break in that way for a better chance at success
^This route does offer a bit more time before the NPC cop shows up and if the house doesn't have the window sensors upgrade you can steal quite a few things.
^This is also just a rock and will need to have already been in your inventory or... on the ground, so rock update. Now this does make me want to have a weird rock collection in game......
* Break in - crowbar *
Same 4Rent animation BUT you will either need to buy a crowbar and have it in your inventory or be apart of the criminal career and be provided a crowbar at Level 2 [they can at least give you one right, if you lose it the next one's on you]
^break ins with crowbars got a bit smoother, less noise but if lot/house has an alarm you'll have to get by that and NPC Cop will take longer to arrive on scene. If you get caught with crowbar it will get taken away and you'll have to get another one womp womp
^crowbar also works on HSY window
* Break in - thieves tools *
Took like ten minutes to remember that this is also called lockpicking. This is when we get into high levels of burglary, criminal career, and spy career
^break ins with thieves tools are the most subtle and quiet and that combined with a high programming skill and the NPC Cop may not come at all. Loot to your heart's content!
^on the off chance you are caught, before engaging with the NPC Cop "hiding" the thieves tools will keep them in your inventory at the station and up the chances of a successful break out.
^works on HSY window
^thieves tools provided high into Spy and higher into Criminal Career, but if you lose it the Criminal Career will not replace it and it's pretty expensive
And that's pretty much as far as I went for active burglars
As far as Update to Criminal Career
Add organized crime: group burglary but with more people = more chance of getting caught
If they ever did add cars even TS2 cars: car theft
Make criminal behavior more of the tasks to do. Duh.
Offer Retail business your "fee-sible protection"
Shady Organization Lawyer
If caught and in jail your organization would arrange for loud escape
As far as Update to Spy Career
Who are we spying on? This could be it's own whole thing but:
adding secret missions
more use of the whole hacking for information
going to certain lots
planting bugs
stealing documents
poisoning people
if you're caught and in jail your agency could arrange your quiet breakout
imagine an object you put down that's just that laser grid that your sim has to sneak by or hack, even if its the same animation it'd *chef's kiss*
MISC: GTW Retail and Home Insurance
If you're playing as the Business owner or Household that got robbed you'll probably take out an insurance plan but this is again might be a step too nuanced.

Sims 4: B 4 Real
I made a Sims 4: 4 Rent Expansion Pack What-I-Wish-It-Was Wishlist because even though the bar is in hell as far as the Sims 4 Team is involved, it's fun to imagine what the pack could've been, what features could've been added blah-blah-blah.
I've seen the Release Trailer, the "Gameplay" Trailer, the "Livestream", and absorbed as much EA Creator Network content as I can handle... and it's meh-to-yikes (MWS 2). So....

RENTING
Not mad at what they did. This is exactly how I, in my dumb-dumb non-coder brain, figured that they could've made working apartments HOWEVER they could've added a better screening process, moreso accepting tenants to apply for the apartment rather than outright accepting them.
The application process could've given the player the ability to accept tenants sight unseen OR given them the ability to screen traits, wealth, or if they have a job with the possibility of getting sued for housing discrimination.
On the other end, if you're playing generationally you can apply for an apartment, pay the application fee, look around, meet the landlord, and/or get rejected because it's your first apartment and your Sim Score is non existent.
All the gameplay I've seen so far, I actually like as far as the water heater and fuse box, mold, and infestation, and all the events. I also like that you can experience all those issues in a regular residential. (RIP Plumbros you've been incorporated?)
I do wish they would've gone back and updated Elevators and allowed a High-End Apartment experience such as Building Maids, Doormen, Receptionist, a basement Irwin, etc.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL LOTS
This would've actually shocked me and 100% made the pack worth it, if they'd given us both the ability to make apartments and make a bar beneath me.
The Multifunctional lot would've worked the exact same way and allowed for storefront RENTALS (but I imagine this would make GTW useless to those who only use the Retail system)
WORLD
9 lots!? BFFR.
:Conspiracy Theory Side Rant: I think they had planned for water lots. The bottom of that map is wayyyy too empty both in world and in world view. I think they hit a snag in coding and instead of delaying to figure it out they scrapped water lots and pushed out this pack and that's why we also can't build on the waterfront lot in Sulani. Nothing can sway me. :End:
It's a pretty... empty world. I wish there was less set dressing and more lots. The cave isn't nearly as cool as the one in Horse Ranch and I could do without it. It really just punched home all the rabbitholes (like seriously Sims 4: For Rabbitholes) and I don't even dislike rabbitholes. I wanted more rabbitholes in Growing Together and less in this pack.
CULTURE
I'm not SEA but I love broad representation, so I love the new dances, love the squat toilet, the food, the night market, the fish market. I just wish there was more! To be exact 10 more, but I'll detail 3.
MY NUMBER ONE WISH - the Animal Sanctuary - imagine the same shell but when you click on it you have the options for a guided Tiger Tour (the current system more or less, popups and all) and an Elephant Walk where it takes you to a TIMED HIDDEN LOT EVENT (also what happened to hidden lots) with elephants that will walk around with the possibility of being drenched in mud, feed them a banana, wave, etc (nothing too crazy as even in a video game I want to remain ethical... to animals) Also would've been a great opportunity for EA to partner with an ethical animal sanctuary and spread awareness. One animal I would've been content. Two. Three. EA would've blown my mind. Imagine the First Person POV in-game and those Safari Cars driving in the BG.

MY NUMBER TWO WISH - Surfing (child+ in water, toddler+ training)- I'm still awed by how we didn't get surfing with Island Living and now with this golden second opportunity they didn't give it to us once again! It would work like this: an invisible marker (in live mode) that we place in Build/Buy and when we click on the water we'd get the option to practice surfing. Waves won't simulate without the marker, they'd go through the surfing animations depending on skill level, and the marker could even designate where the sim would pop up after they wash out. This could be its own fleshed out thing with surf training in water and on land, playable lifeguard, surf competitions/career, injuries, but I would've taken just surfing.
MY NUMBER THREE WISH - Muay Thai - as an activity (child+) AND apart of a Fighter career. I'll never expect an active Fighter career from EA as that's too many animation cycle possibilities for them for some reason but could've been a great opportunity to give us Boxing 2.0 and become full-time World Class Fighter.
Quick 4-10
4. Boats! Group boats! Tour boats (even as a rabbithole, might as well go all in if you're going to give them to us)
5. River rafting (just more water activities would've been great)
6. Sunken ship hidden lot (deep diving to a hidden lot) / more snorkeling spots (though I understand snorkeling is a draw in for IL)
7. Hiking (I know we've gotten hiking essentially in the last two EPs but this would've been a great EP for it and/or give us a climbing mountain experience like in SE... but green)
8. Harvestables - tea, spices, fruit.
9. A TukTuk Tour (cute to say and if we only got one rabbithole this would've been fun for my tourist sims)
10. Botanical Garden. At the bottom b/c even EA didn't care enough about this. Seriously, no new flowers?
Secret 11. Night Market Worker, would've been nice if the reason a night market stall was empty was because you could come up and work it, sell at it like any other selling table or have it be its own job.
SPEAKING OF SECRETS.
Breaking and Entering to snoop through a Sims things when I can do it through multiple different interaction is cucking me and I don't like that. Just give me burglars. Or update the Klepto trait to not have a cooldown (sure, there are mods for this but EA shouldn't depend on modders to give us something they're teasing)
In that same vein CONSEQUENCES, I don't want my sim to just get into a fight. Arrest them. Send them to jail. Give me some cross pack combability with GTW and let me use that lot for once to report theft and/or give me NPC Cops to fight instead.
And my biggest gripe so far, for a pack that I haven't personally played, are the SECRETS themselves. I hate how much EA infantilizes its players while simultaneously being the same game with a plant that eats people and a murder apartment. The secrets, which are a fun mechanic, just seem so blah. Not only because they also seem random but they're also just... childish. (I get T for Teen, but I feel like most of the player base are adults) Give me SPICY SIM SECRETS: who's having an affair, who's faked their death, who has a literal skeleton in their closet, who's embezzled money, who's proudly the weekend (Also a great mechanic to make their occult states a secret) ! Make the blackmail worth it and make it more than $100 dollars. If a Landgraab has a secret love child out there and I find out they're wiring me 10k a week for life, at least. If I can't have consequences, give me hot tea! Also sure, I could keep their secret but also let me gossip about it to other people and get in a fight because I didn't keep their secret. It's a good game mechanic but it's a wasted opportunity.
MISCELLANEOUS: and this is nitpicking but I would've wanted an animation of the child drawing out the hopscotch and marble circle instead of one you just put down in Build/Buy. Other than that I love having more things for them to do and the collection system for marbles but I want more marbles.
Okay, off to watch Kdramas. I will post regular game screenshots... eventually. I'm prepping for Joy of Life. It's my first real generational challenge (2nd challenge overall, I got to baby 79 in 100 baby before I just stopped)

Sugar finally went riding around! My Roberto has face tatts (what interesting stories he must have), instead of dismounting Spice found a different way to help her down and then she went galloping around while Sugar tried out her first batch of nectar. Didn't go quite as she hoped but her big dream 'BlackRock Bottles' will happen one day.

THE SIMS 4 HORSE RANCH
These were ideas I had before the pack came out with just knowing we were getting horses, nectar making, and mini-goats and sheep and just thought of how much more they could've done.
Tabletop dancing -> broken arm, leg, drunken antics, ie consequences
Bulk -> sell to bars, shipping, packaging, (carton of eggs, wine, boxes of apples), (personally would like to see cat and dog food as a purchasable item, cans and bags and tupperware)
Scouts update - > fundraising, bake sales / cookie drive, and horse camp
Lasso -> toddler to elder, child+ competitions
billiards -> social activity for teen+, random outcome, betting, pool hall
motorcycles -> we have bikes, wouldn't this basically be the same animation without the moving feet.
Rodeos - > with zero pixel animal abuse - social event and competition (using mechanical bull riding) at a saloon lot type with saloon doors
glasswork, ironwork, stones -> gold or stones from river, mining, making horseshoes, glassblowing, bead-making
any indigenous gameplay?! Sage harvestable, burnable, craftable sage, weaving skill, dreamcatchers, totems, blankets, books/conversing with sim about culture - > beads, jewelry, knitting addons - > crafting table
horse plow -> attachable wheel barrow to mass harvest all
mischief and politics -> new protests, new policies, and the urban legend of cowtipping
petting zoo - > update to barn to free llama and cow, ability to lock bunnies in, employee a fox, [just adding snakes and lizards]
nectar making - > should've been in mws - winetasting, order bottle during meal, blends, nameable, snob interactions and/or moodlets about the notes, make box wine [low, get drunk quick quality],
stare down - > rude introduction
pianola - > upgradable to play on its own [even though not historically accurate] - > ability to play piano drunk
MY IDEAS AFTER THE PACK WAS RELEASED (and I've spent like two days in game, not bored just drawing out that single drop of gameplay) - this is mainly where the "not a modder" comes in as I have no idea how easy or difficult it would be to add these things.
First off, lock that dance behind a skill or something
A Wandering Cowboy Mod - a cowboy NPC shows up randomly at my doorstep, is he hurt, is he friendly, is he a burglar, is he here to start a quest???
^^^ same concept but Alien Crash landing
Horses that steers goats/cattle back.
Ability to lead horses
Horse betting / mini game (make my rich sims poor)
Obvi, wild horses
Ability to brush teeth and/or an actual horse bath
Horsegirl books, toys, interactions,
Holster gun match with chances of misfire, with either possibly dying, etc, (historic version of this too)
Gunslingers and Bounty Hunters
obvi, Unicorn things; could be cool if used to cure all sickness/alignments from other mods and/or resets their age and/or work like Father Winter.
Bank Heists
A fiddle or banjo.
Ability to craft all the furniture with woodworking table.
Falling off the horse -> consequences
Replace in-game harvestable grapes with debug grape vines
Dual riders, teach to ride for children, romantic kiss where one sim is on the horse and the other is standing below them, lift onto horse to kiss, thrown over the horse and taken, watching stars together while sitting on horses
Nothing to do with westerns but the rocking horse mod made me want a rocket ride coin machine mod
Add with more thoughts later.
