In the Underdark there's an encounter with a redcap whose godsona is Bhaal who has been greatly inspired by Bhaal and fakes being a Lord of Murder himself, and I wish there were more special things when playing a Durge BUT there is at least one Durge-specific thing that can happen (when you decide to become BOOOAL's Chosen)

The absolute irony of Durge finding the BOOOAL cult in the Underdark. At this point they don't know they are Bhaal's former Chosen. They stumble on this cult worshiping the god of murder, BOOOAL. Durge has a dialogue option to inform the followers that the god of murder is actually Bhaal, or through other dialogue become the Chosen of BOOOAL, or claim that they, themselves are BOOOAL (if playing a bard). Durge can end the interaction with the Kuo Toa worshipping them, at which point Durge can tell them to build an army or stop the bloodshed.

That's it. That's the entire Dark Urge plotline played out in like 30 seconds. And boy, oh boy, the irony of playing this scene in a second playthrough knowing who Durge really is and having them tell the Kuo Toa to stop the bloodshed.

It’s funny how quests that can seem fun and goofy on one character become a traumatic event on another with a different backstory.

I missed the area in the Underdark on my first few play throughs a where you find the kuo-toa worshipping Boooal and finally did it first as Tirzah, my Durge, who made a deal to share power with the redcap. Somehow Lae’zel got caught in the cutscene and all the Kuo-toa started worshipping her which is fantastic. She will lead them to victory and death.

I have another Morgan save for my tactician run that I’m playing through very slowly… and now this quest isn’t so fun anymore. She was raised in a cult that ended up being led by a con man and led to the deaths of everyone she knows, so when she makes the arcana check to clock the redcap as a fraud, she goes instant aggro and demands he let everyone go. Ofc all the fish go hostile and she must then slaughter everything in the grotto.

Gonna need some fantasy therapy after this.

Sadly, this seems to be the only way to avoid killing them all. Standing up for them results in them attacking you, forcing you to kill them. 😞

idk if anyone else has tried this conversation string yet, but if you entertain the idea of sacrificing any of your companions to the god BOOOAL, Gale will glare at you like this from the back of the party
