Imagine being Jason hearing that. Jason, who has spent the past five books trying to figure out where he belonged in all this. Jason, whose “Romanness” had been called into question- whose ambrosia no longer tasted like New Rome’s brownies but instead like sawdust. Who could not control those ghosts in the House of Hades because they didn’t recognise him as Roman, and who had to give up his Praetorship because of that. Who has been yearning for a place to belong this whole time, and finding himself being separated from Camp Jupiter…

And then this. Leo tells Frank and Hazel about his plan because they’re Roman, and they’d understand… and Jason isn’t. Not anymore. Jason’s best friend- the person he cares about most in the world, who he would willingly die for- doesn’t even recognise Rome as Jason’s home. He doesn’t even trust him enough to tell him of his plan, doesn’t think he’d understand about sacrifice.

Jason, who has thought multiple times about giving up his life for his friends and especially for Leo, who has basically devoted his whole life to serving others, given up everything, always put others needs before his own?

Jason. Wouldn’t. Understand. About. Sacrifice?

-the main designer and builder for the argo II, also the first hephaestus kid to have fire powers since hundreds of years ago (did i mention killed gaea? no? yeah he did that too)

-a girl who somehow charmspeak-ed gaea into falling back asleep (also side note daughter of super famous actor because why not)

-pretty much everybody is a two-time war veteran

-THE GOD APOLLO who just sometimes comes down to visit in the form of a teenage boy

-did i mention dionysus, god of wine madness and theatre

-also chiron, trainer of pretty much every greek hero ever

Bryce Lawrence, a legacy of the Roman god Orcus (Greek name being Horkos), the god of punishment in the underworld.

Nico literally ended Bryce’s existence, turning him into a ghost and sending his soul straight to the underworld

It was during the blood of Olympus:))

He takes down both Bryce’s zombie army and sends Bryce’s soul straight to the underworld after he overhears Reyna share the story of how she killed her father. He attempts to capture her and bring her to Octavian so he can charge her with Patricide (murder of a parent)

He’s actually the only known demigod to die at Nicos hands- (according to the wiki at least)

do you think the demigods are more likely to be autistic as well

like, the reason they’re canonically more likely to have adhd is bc their brains are hardwired for survival or whatever right, and they’re more likely to be dyslexic bc their brains are hardwired for ancient greek, and anyways that logic is kinda silly but i love it bc rick did it bc of his son’s adhd and dyslexia right. representation

anyways i think it would make sense for them to be more likely to be autistic, too

like, they tend to be more sensitive to their surroundings and pick up on things others don’t, allowing them to see through the mist. it would make sense for their brains to be really hardwired to pick up patterns and maintain strict routines ie training, etc + repetitive movements could help them out on the battlefield in the same way adhd does.

a lot of them have sort of obsessive special interests in things related to their godly parents, like nico w death, annabeth w architecture, percy w the sea, etc. plus, they tend to not feel like they “fit in” or “belong” in the real world, and before they find out abt being a demigod a lot of them think there’s something wrong w them. it’s only once they meet other ppl like them that they realize they aren’t alone

obviously a lot of this is also associated w adhd, but w rick’s logic i think this is fun to think of and makes a lot of sense! plus ✨ comorbidity ✨ exists and ppl w one disorder or condition often have others as well. adhd and autism often go hand in hand!

That moment felt like foreshadowing to me but I might just be delusional

the rage I feel when reading Blood of Olympus chapters 45-56 is almost equivalent in magnitude to the absolute joy I experience when reading The Last Olympian chapters 1-23.

remember when percabeth was good? when they meant the world to each other but had other people they cared about (nico, for one. both of them. so much), other worries and other storylines aside from their romantic plot? and when nico's completed arc wasn't repeated for no reason other than to dump more trauma on the youngest character in the series? when background characters were included in the story not for all the unnecessary last minute romantic subplots but because they were fun and fascinating to learn more about? and were actually friends with main characters? remember when grover was percy and annabeth's best friend forever? and antagonists were actually interesting and intimidating and had compelling goals? and the story revolved around friendship and family and loyalty? and death was definite and loss was palpable and battles were thrilling?

yeah. good times.
