Something about how Nina created the fake plague in Ketterdam and she made the siren sound and how when it starts ringing Kaz says it wails like the piercing cry of a woman in mourning and when Matthias dies Nina screams and the scream scratches against the empty place where her heart used to be something something

i think strange and off-putting wylan is the best. you know how he is in those fanfictions where he just. stares. and creeps people out. in the inside, he's having ten different panic attacks, but on the outside it's all just big blue bambi eyes and an entirely unresponsive demeanor. things happen around him and he doesn't react. he doesn't move. he doesn't blink. he just stares. he's weird and there and that's it. jesper instantly needs him carnally and all he did was look at him blankly and ignore him from then on. nina finds him hilarious. matthias finds him a little weird but also the most normal person in the crows. inej gives him a knife to protect himself but he's already got a whole lot of bombs hidden in his little gay satchel that he's told no one about and will bring out in the middle of a random fight where he will romantically lock eyes with jesper and then blow up a bunch of people. kaz glares at him and wylan just looks back without flinching so kaz hires him because how the fuck??? how??

Imagine being 12yo drüskelle playing with your friends and a pile of cute little wolf puppies. And then your Weird Classmate that is the top of the class and never talks to anybody and also is the general's favourite appears, covered in blood, with basically a grown isenulf with badass scar across it's muzzle and oh great Djel, it's his blood this wolf is covered in?, and proudly claims this monster is his, before promptly loosing consciousness. Like I bet Matthias had a Reputation™.

normally i hate the “touch her and you die” trope but kanej did it nicely

bc he didn’t say “touch her and you’ll die”

she just got stabbed and he gouged out eyeballs killed the guy who did it

(also inej isn’t portrayed as weak, or in need of kaz)
