You shush her quickly, looking around the grill at anyone that looks familiar before nodding

“Yes Damon”, you say

make it more obvious than it already is Caroline

“Ew”, she gags with a shake of her head, “sorry y/n but he would never go for someone like you”, she shrugs, taking a sip of her milkshake

You frown as you tilt your head

“What do you mean?”, you question, trying to hide your hurt and disappointment

“Do you not see it?”, she raises an eyebrow

You slowly shake her head, urging her to continue on silently

“Elena, y/n, Elena”, she stretches out her name

You sit back in your seat as you think back on the times you all spent time together and realize that she is right

“Ladies”, speaking of the devil, Damon walks over with a smirk on his face

“Ew”, Caroline makes a face and gets up, “I’ll see you later, y/n”, she says and walks out the grill

“Bitchy much?”, Damon raises an eyebrow as he takes Caroline’s seat and finally lays his eyes on you

You finally noticed it after maybe months of being blind. You realized the way he looks at her, the way he talks to her, even the way he treats her. Like she’s made of glass and she needs his protection.

Even when he talks about her to you, you hear it all and that’s enough for you to try and throw your feelings out the window and distance yourself.

Not like he would care, right?

You watch, from a distance, the way Damon and Elena are talking. How close and secretive like, they are. It made you wonder, what exactly does he see in her that he can’t see in you?

You feel selfish, Elena is your friend and you’re thinking about all this negative stuff. But sometimes, it’s better to be selfish, you know?

“Ugh why don’t you just talk to him, you guys are friends”, Caroline comes up next to you

“Yeah friends, and friends only”, you shake your head, “you even said it yourself that he will never go for someone like me”, you add

Caroline rolls her eyes, “i was just messing with you, y/n. Damon goes for anyone”, she says

“Yeah anyone as in Elena”, you sigh, glancing over at them, to see Damon already looking at you with a raised eyebrow

You nervously look away, “i gotta go”, you rush out, grabbing your stuff quickly and starts heading over to the grill’s doors

“Hold on”, Damon says and goes after you

“Oh no no no”, Damon speeds in front of you, “what were you and Blondie talking about”, he gives you that intense stare that you avoided

You shake your head, “none of your concern”, you say trying to walk away only for him to grab your arm quickly

“It is my concern when I am brought into that conversation, what did she mean by I go for anyone?”, he asks again but more specific

You shake your head, pulling your arm away, “It was a stupid conversation now can I go?”, you look over at him for the first time that you both started talking

“What’s going on with you, hm?”, he says which makes you raise an eyebrow

“I don’t understand nor do i have a care right now”, you sigh

Of course you understood and of course you cared

“Stop with the bullshit, y/n”, he narrows his eyes, “you’ve been distancing yourself from me and we rarely hang out, what’s going on?”, he asks

“Nothing, bye Damon”, you finally pulled your hand away and walked off, feeling his intense stare in the back of your head

For most of the week, that’s all Damon had done. Anytime he seen you trying to leave, he would be quick to stop you and pester you into telling him what is wrong. Usually always ends up with him never getting a direct answer and instead getting some attitude off of you instead

He even tried texting you but he was either left on delivered or seen

It irritated him to no end and on top of that, the conversation you had with Caroline seemed to be the icing on the cake for sure

Why was he brought up in your guy’s conversation and why did you seem so disappointed?

“Penny for your thoughts?”, he heard his little brother say as Stefan walks into the living room

“What are, Klaus?”, Damon raises an eyebrow

“It’s what happens when your forced on a trip with him”, Stefan shrugs, “but seriously, what’s up?”

“What are you talking about”, Damon looks over his shoulder

“You are real quiet, in thought maybe?”, Stefan questions

Damon debated on wether to ask him about it

Fuck it

“Have you noticed anything different about them? y/n”, Damon asks

“No, not really”, Stefan shrugs, “they seem fine to me, why?”

“They have become so distant with me, very weird not gonna lie”, Damon shrugs, “any time I tried talking to them, they always push me away”, he says, “Even weirder is that Caroline and them had a conversation and I was brought into it”, he adds

Stefan raises an eyebrow, he never seen his brother so so stressed about a situation like this, it surprised him

“Set something up”, Stefan shrugs, “catch them off guard, your good at that”, he adds before walking away as Damon nods slowly

You walked out the market with some bags in your hand, walking towards your car and to the back, opening your trunk. Once you settled and situated your grocery bags, you closed it and turned around, letting out a loud gasp when Damon appears in front of you

“Fucking christ, Dam”, you gasp, putting your hand on your chest, “don’t do that damit”, you shake your head

“Why have you been ignoring me”, Damon says with a sarcastic smile as he stares deep into your eyes

You knew he wasn’t compelling you, he was the one who gave you vervain anyways

“I can’t do this right now Damon”, you shake your head as you start walking to your door car in which he quickly covers

“Yes you can, cmon don’t be shy now”, he says with a little smirk that doesn’t really reach his eyes

“Get out of my way”, you groan

“What was the conversation you and blondie had, about”, he says instead which makes you immediately shake your head

“You are so annoying”, you growl, trying to shove him away

“Gosh you know I wouldn’t have to be if you would just tell me the dam truth”, Damon pouts

You were getting irritated and annoyed the more he kept pestering you. It only left you with an option that you really didn’t wanna use but if it meant he moved away and stopped talking, so be it.

You reached into your bag and grab a spray bottle that’s filled with vervain and spray it in Damon’s face

Damon let’s put a shout with a groan, immediately stumbling away and grabbing at his face

“Y/N”, he hisses, snapping his head towards you as you quickly get in your car

“You were getting annoyed”, you shrugged and started you car, before driving off

You finished up with putting your groceries away and started to make your way upstairs

You kinda felt guilty for doing Damon like that but it seemed like the only thing to get him to shut up and move away and plus you did do it before. Prior to the situation as of right now

Once you walk into your room, you almost let out a yelp when you see the man himself, laying down on your bed

“That wasn’t very nice of you, you know?”, Damon says as he plays with one of your stuffed animals you have on your bed, “These are for kids by the way”, he points, pointing at your animal

You glare and snatch it away from him

“What the hell do you want Damon”, you growl as you set your stuffed animal on your dressed

“Answers, y/n, answers”, he growls back suddenly now in front of you

You close your eyes, feeling it burn with tears and your frustration reaching its breaking point as Damon continues on about how you have been ignoring him and distancing yourself and everything that you have done to him

“…I am honestly hurt, y/n/n, i would have never expected anything like this from yo-“, he is cut off short

“I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU DAMON”, you shout out as you finally reach it, “I HAVE BEEN IN LOVE WITH YOU SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THIS FRIENDSHIP TO NOW. I HAVE BEEN IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING THAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME AND FOR WHOEVER THE HELL YOU PLAYED NICE TO”, you sob as you now start pacing, “IVE DISTANCE MYSELF BECAUSE I REALIZED THAT YOU WILL NEVER FEEL WHAT I FEEL FOR YOU. IVE REALIZED THAT I WILL NEVER BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU BECAUSE”, you bite your lip, stopping your pacing and finally looking over at him, “i realized am nothing like Elena…nor will I ever be Elena”, you whisper

Damon stares at you, his eyes slightly widened and his mouth slightly open

He was shocked. He never seen you like this nor has he ever realized that you felt like this towards him

“Y/n…”, he whispers as he raises his hands up towards your face only for you to slap it away

author's note: this is from my old account and i wanted to repost it here. the writing style is older and not similar to my style now soooo...

Y/n and Bonnie first saw each other when Klaus came to town. Being that she is Klaus’s sister things didn’t go as smoothly in the beginning.

In the beginning, they hated each other. Well, hate is a strong word. Let’s just say they extremely disliked each other. Bonnie thought she was just like her brother. The dislike for each other is kind of like a love-and-hate relationship.

While Y/n found it annoying that people judged her off on her brother, them not really knowing her, she was an alright person. Don’t get me wrong she is definitely not a saint but she has her moments.

Over time, she and Bonnie bond after Klaus leaves for summer to make his hybrids. They get to know each other and they soon learn to love each other.

They denied it like in a corny Netflix romantic comedy film. In the end, they accepted it. They fell in love. Y/n’s family just wants her to be happy so if the Bennett witch made her happy then who were they to pry.

Bonnie’s friends (more like Elena and Damon), on the other hand, weren’t as accepting. They judged her and kept saying that Y/n was a bad person and that she didn’t deserve Bonnie.

While they were fighting, Y/n let herself into the Salvatore Boarding House. She heard what they had all said excluding Caroline and Stefan, who were very accepting of the relationship.

Y/n continued to listen to them, Bonnie defending her every time. She couldn’t help but smile at her defensive girlfriend but frown at her friends not accepting their relationship, more so her.

The more she heard the more she believed it.

Y/n’s not a good person Bonnie!

Her brother tried to kill me!

I don’t trust her.

She’s going to hurt you, Bon.

It was at that moment that Stefan had asked a question that surprised the girl.

“Do you love her Bonnie?”

The hope to hear Bonnie say she loved her. She continued to listen and wait for an answer but she never got one, only heavy breathing.

Her face fell when all she heard was silence. Her heart broke. She left the flowers on a table that she planned on giving to Bonnie later.

She walked out of the house and slammed the door.

The sound of the door slamming made everyone jump. They went towards the door to see no one, other than the flowers Y/n had recently placed.

Bonnie went towards the flowers and picked them. She smelled them. Lilies she thought. She pondered, only one person knew her favorite flowers.

Y/n. Her eyes widened as she put everything together. She rushed to the door, ignoring the voices behind her. Any trace of her was gone.

Bonnie felt disappointed that she didn’t reply. She knew she loved Y/n with all of her heart. She hopped into her car and drove into town, roaming around.

She found Y/n sitting on a bench at the park. Bonnie looked at the sad girl who looked like she was crying.

Y/n’s thoughts were filled with all of the things they said about her to Bonnie. Then she thought of the question Stefan asked.

Did she love her?

Y/n knew she did. That’s what hurt the most. She was head over heels for the Bennett. She would do anything for her.

The more she kept thinking the more she cried. Her sobs weren’t loud. They were below a whisper. Y/n wasn’t one to cry, like Nik. You would never catch her crying over a woman or anyone other than her family.

But Bonnie was different. Bonnie made her feel alive. Not only did she make her feel alive she helped her live. If it wasn’t for her family (that wasn’t existent at the moment) and Bonnie she wouldn’t be here. She would still be here but not here. Her mind and soul would’ve been gone.

Whatever life she has left, gone. Bonnie restored the life that was fading and her family saw that. They saw the happiness restore back in the girl.

Y/n placed her face in her hands. She felt a hand on her back and flinched away from the touch. She looked up and saw the love of her life.

Y/n looked up and gave Bonnie a sad smile. Bonnie returned one back.

Bonnie then sighed and scooted closer to Y/n.

They both held eye contact for about 30 seconds. Bonnie opened her mouth to take nervous breath in. She then finally spoke.

“Y/n when I met you I thought you would’ve been the exact copy of your brother. I thought you had only come here to terrorize me and my friends. Then I saw something in you when Klaus sacrificed Jenna. I saw the sorrow and sadness on your face and in your eyes. During the summer, I saw the you I saw on the field and I fell in love with that version of you, the real you.”

Y/n has never smiled more widely than she is right now. She looked at Bonnie with admiration and… love.

They both leaned in and gave each other a heartfelt kiss. They parted and rested their foreheads against each other, breathing heavily.

“I love you, Y/n.”

“I love you, Bonnie.”

Bonnie groaned as Carline hurried over and helped her to her feet. When she glanced around she could see Elena and Matt helping each other up. 

Damon was hunched over Stefan who winced as something was pulled out of his arm. The room was in ruins. Thank goodness we all arrived at the event early Bonnie thought to herself. Who knows how many people would have been hurt if it happened during the charity event. 

“What happened?” Carline said as she helped Bonnie over to the others. The magic to hold off their attacker had weakened her and she had several small cuts and a sprained arm. At least she hoped that was all it was. 

“I don’t know. Someone came out of nowhere and chanted something at them. That guy went flying out but they followed…” Matt said. His head was ringing and he wasn’t making much sense. The group decided that it would be best to try and escape while they could. Damon tried to make the room look as if a wild animal had gotten in before helping anyone out. 

Outside was a different matter entirely. There was a massive almost imperceivable wall of shimmering air around the building. There was a figure with one hand in the air holding the shield up while they brought the attacker to their knees. “Woah. Who is that? They must be powerful!” Matt mumbled. Stefan was holding him up now and he muttered to Elena that they needed to get Matt to a hospital as soon as possible. He was quite sure the head injury was worse than it looked.

“It’s (Y/N).” Bonnie grunted. She winced as she held herself up using Caroline’s arm. Damon moved closer and frowned at the figure whose back was to them.

“Who exactly is (Y/N)?” Damon asked quickly. He still wasn’t fond of witches. Even if he had changed his opinion on Bennett witches. 

“(Y/N) is my sister. I haven't seen them in years.” Bonnie answered. The group stared at the figure as their attacker suddenly seemed to lose whatever mental battle the two of you had been in and suddenly crumpled into ash which settled over the ground. The shield around the building folded in on itself and lifted up so that the group could leave.

“Bonnie.” You said with a tight smile.

“(Y/N).” Bonnie replied in the same tone. There was a long silence which Stefan broke when he realised that Matt wasn’t going to stay awake much longer and he was worried giving him blood in the state he was in would do more harm than good.

“This is all very awkward. But my friend is about to die. If we could move things along.” Stefan said bluntly. Damon frowned at you suspiciously as you got closer. Caroline shared his instinct to move closer to Elena and Bonnie to defend them from you, sister or not. You reached out to Matt and placed a hand on his cheek. The group watched as drips of blood that seeped from his hairline and ran down his head moved backwards as if time were reversed and he seemed to perk up. The sickly shiny look to him faded and you stepped away.

“He should still go to the hospital. In case I missed anything.” You said to Stefan. He nodded slowly, gave you a suspicious look and then glanced at Damon who nodded. You all watched as Stefan vanished with Matt in his arms and headed in the direction of the hospital.

“What are you doing here?” Bonnie asked quickly.

“Saving your life apparently.” You answered, still mimicking her tone to you.

“We would have been fine. We usually are. It isn’t like you wanted to help before.” Bonnie was visibly angry and she winced as she stepped away from Caroline who kept her hand and reached out in case she needed to fall back. 

“Well, this time I need help too.” You said and glanced at Elena. She had vague memories of pictures of you. But really other than seeing you at Gram’s funeral you could have been a stranger to her.

“What exactly do you need my help with?” Bonnie asked.

“Oh, I don’t need your help. I need Katherine’s.” You smiled and stepped towards Elena. You managed to grab her and vanish into the air before anyone could stop you.

“I am so sick of the doppelganger thing.” Damon hissed under his breath.

“Bonnie, it’s ok.” Caroline said to Bonnie who looked devastated. 

“No. Grams sent (Y/N) away. I never tried to find them. It’s my fault.” Bonnie muttered.

“Well. I don’t know, wouldn't it really be Grams… she sent (Y/N) away so…” Damon trailed off when both women glared at him and agreed to drive to the hospital so everyone could figure out what to do.
