A common comment on my last video was something to the tune of “I can’t find any bone piles on Google” or “know of any in [state]” or “I’ve lived in the US my whole life and never heard of bone piles.”

First, I am very glad that people are looking to explore and find bone piles near them! Major kudos for wanting to explore the real world! And I wish I could tell you that every natural feature is categorized, marked, named, and documented on maps.

But, sadly bone pits are not tourist attractions that you might have “heard of” or that have social media profiles you can look up. (Although, I did write an article about the cow bones in the East Bay Regional Park District! And I have seen one with a sign.)

Bone pits are generally just kinda there. Like those illegal dumps filled with old trailers, boats and tires. Bone piles and dump sites tend to be created by people who don’t exactly want you to find them. Maybe that’s because sometimes I find things that suggest suspicious activity. (Not like murder, but like littering, illegal habitation, drugs, generally signs of poverty…possibly some wildlife crimes like wanton waste.)

So, if you wanna find bone piles, see if you can befriend some hunters and farmers!

The Lazarus Pits are actually ectoplasm distilleries made by ghosts that have since been abandoned after being discovered by humans.

Ra’s Al Ghul, various heroes, villains, all were revived due to the ghost equivalent of Blinds You strength moonshine.

Additional idea: Danny doesn’t know of the existence of Lazarus Pits and just turned 21. Ember brings him to her favorite Lazarus Pit; the one that’s directly under Gotham

THE BONE PIT IS WHERE THE BONE CREATURE LIVES. IT COLLECTS BONES AND ADDS THEM TO ITS ANATOMY USING ITS OPAQUE, MUCOUSY FLESH AS A SORT OF GLUE TO KEEP ALL ITS COLLECTED BONES IN PLACE. I GO OVER THERE BECAUSE THE BONE CREATURE CONSTANTLY EMITS A HUM AT A SPECIFIC FREQUENCY THAT CALMS ME DOWN AND ALLOWS ME TO MEDITATE AND THINK.

Hear me out- Ghosts have wings. They have wings, which are affected by their cores, and can make them disappear from sight if they want or need to. You got that? Good. 

Ecto-contaminated people? Don’t have wings. Liminals and Halfas, who have developed cores? Do have wings, and they can’t hide said wings, because unlike ghosts? Their bodies are physical living flesh. 

Now Gotham? Ecto-contaminated, there’s no doubt about it. The amount of portals that have been opened there and death pits and death cults… yeah it’d be surprising if it wasn’t. But again, no one really notices, because at most? Most just get a bit of eyeshine. 

The Bats however? Oh man are they freaking out when they wake up with aches in their back and feathers starting to poke through their skin. Curse? Nope! Welcome to Liminality, enjoy the second puberty of wings, emotion-sharing, fangs, claws, and whatever else you might develop- also enjoy the whole eating fear thing. (Wait, the what-)

If Danny had a nickel for every time he met an alternate version of himself that was built like a tank he’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
