Still a month away from watching these two be their adorable goober selves together:

I keep telling everyone around me I'm going to be insufferable for a while, with Jimin and Muse coming soon and then these two together, week after week ... makes me giddy. Sorry, not sorry.

We'll get teasers. I'm going to squee over all of those as well. Again, sorry, but not very sorry at all actually.

All of it takes me back to when I realized JK's 2022 Vlog was going to be centered around camping. Honestly? I was a little surprised. He has never come across as the outdoorsy type to me. But he'd never had the chance to express much of what interests him outside of BTS and outside of what we saw on various content through the years either!

This series of vlogs helped us see each member doing things they chose to do on their own and helped kick off the "solo" era in 2022.

Jungkook's delight in stopping at Korea's version of Buc-ee's and buying gas station food and eating to his heart's content was oddly satisfying. Maybe because I take great pleasure in doing such simple things too, after all, the best part of a road trip is stopping to buy snacks along the way, am I right? The service area where they stopped is called the Gapyeong Service area on the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway (60). These places are like a food court/mini mall. Just like Buc-ee's.

I am already laughing at the thought of he and Jimin stopping at a grocery store to buy deli pizza in Connecticut... IT'S GOING TO BE WOEFULLY SUBSTANDARD I FEAR!

In his 2022 vlog, Jungkook helped set up the camper he slept in and cooked and sat around the campfire drinking. And we know in past Bon Voyage seasons and other content, they've pitched tents and slept outdoors. All of these things he must have immensely enjoyed if we might be seeing them again soon with Jimin.

Then there's the recent story going around about someone spotting he and Jimin returning their rental car in Japan and learning Jungkook was driving... Jungkook got to drive on the "wrong" side of the road in Japan! He put that international driver's license to use finally!

From the preview clip the other day, it appears Jungkook also got to practice his motorcycle handling skills. Handling a Harley Davidson is a bit trickier than handling a smaller motorcycle. Those things are heavy. And it's a little different when you have a passenger sitting behind you. The two Harley helmets we saw sitting on the edge of his sofa last year... yep, he's had practice.

TMI: I was today year's old when I learned that motorcycles are banned on major roadways in Korea.

Are we going to see how Jimin scraped his knuckles while snorkeling on Jeju?

And that nekkid-in-bed live when Jungkook was begging him to come over and Jimin told him to look at the photo he sent... did Jimin get a black eye from being elbowed when they were sleeping?

And as I was running through my blog posts, I realized all of these things I previously said last year:

I wondered if Closer Than This was a pre-release to an upcoming album...

I'm thankful to Tae for bringing JK along with his Wooga friends to that ski resort back in 2022. We can't know if JK had ever snowboarded before that but it appears he loved it enough to want to stick around long after they left him there. And now he had the chance to do it again with Jimin! I know they had so much fun together. At the beginning of this year, I pointed out some fun facts about Sapporo...

Skiing? Snowboarding? All of the above?

And save this for future reference, it's the onsen resort image we heard about and I mentioned in a weekly Bangtan report this past February....

Maybe none of the above will be accurate, but thinking about how much fun they had anyway has me very excited for August 8.

Sorry for any grammar or spelling issues English is not my first language. I was never a fan of bts I have heard about them bt was never really interested. So about a year ago or I think in the beginning of this year I saw a reel on YouTube abt TH and JK at the airport where TH was trying to hold JK hand and I didn't understand ppl where commenting abt how they were finally coming out and JK was shy or scared and all I could think abt was that JK body language was "the hell you trying to hold my hand for" that's what I got. Remember now I didn't know them didn't even know their names bt that reel was just cringe for me,and I didn't even know there was shipping going on in bts😩... Bt about 6or7 weeks ago a saw a funny video of them on insta and rm caught my attention so I searched their songs on YouTube became a instant fan bt then I got obsessed with jimin. Well suddenly all these tkk reels started coming on my tml and I was curious at first because there were so many tkk stuff and ppl always commenting under posts tkk is real I looked Into that first and I got to say I don't know how ppl can say they a couple bc I didn't even know abt jkk and those tkk stuff got me messed up coz when a saw a vmin reel I was like yeah they can maybe be a couple bt Def not tkk so I started searching jimin Omg that man is heaven Send... And low and behold jkk stuff popped up on my time line, my god when I tell you about the butterflies I felt when a saw that reel about 2018 where it looks like JK wanted to devour jm I knew a was at the right place.. Now I still don't know very much abt jkk I'm still looking into it bt for me who didn't even know bts or abt tkk, vmin, and jkk and learning about tkk before even knowing abt the other 2 bt saw at first glance that no a big hell No are the a couple, now for me that says alot because I would vmin a chance of being real before tkk. And can you maybe tell where and what I can watch to know more abt bts and jkk... I really love all 7 so much.

No don’t worry, your English is fine and welcome to the world of BTS and shipping even though it’s crazy out here so buckle up lol.

I guess some people see something in taekook while others don’t and you happen to be one of those who doesn’t. For me, it’s always been clear that taekook are just friends not just because I couldn’t see anything beyond friendship but because all the evidence and common sense points to them being just friends but I guess not everyone sees things the same way and that’s why we still have tons of taekookers out there.

As for Jikook, they’ve always been the most likely pair to be real to me not just because of what I see or feel about them but because there’s been alot of that has strongly pointed to the possibility of them being more than friends over the years. I cannot swear that we are right about them being a couple because we never know but I know for a fact that they have and have always had an incredibly deep bond. Also, I am positive that taekook are nothing more than friends, no matter what taekookers would like to say about them and the solo era.

I would advise that you try to find and watch as much original content as possible. You can find some on Youtube, daily motion, weverse etc. Try to avoid youtube, instagram or tiktok edited videos because those tend to take out alot of context which makes you misunderstand alot of their interactions or moments. You can also check out @stormblessed95 blog. She has done an incredible job in explaining their dynamics and breaking things down. She is also the best person to go to if you need to find a specific content. To know more about the other members you can follow member focused accounts on any social media platform but make sure you are not following toxic or delusional shippers or solos because they could influence you to start hating on or being shady towards other members. Find content like run bts, In the soop, Bon Voyage to really get to know them. You can also watch their Vlives from weverse. Those are good places to start and you can always send in asks if you have questions about anything. Hope you have a great time catching up with content anon💜

I felt the need to write this in light of soo many asks I’ve seen throughout Chapter 2

The crux of the asks that got me here are “I don���t see many moments around Jikook anymore” “We need more Jikook moments” “I don’t think Jikook are close anymore, xx/xx have more moments than them”

I just want to share *my thoughts*...

How did we meet Jikook?

Some of you may have known of them since debut, some since Blood Sweat & Tears, HYYH era, Dynamite, Butter or even most recently in Chapter Two.

However you became aware of them, you would have also been aware of their group. The reason for their current status. To know Jikook you must in some capacity know Bangtan.

I say this because to have gotten to know Jikook, it would have been through the group using videos, Bangtan Bombs, Bon Voyages, In The Soops, concerts, all of the above, some or none at all.

(I won't mention those that only know Jikook through fanmade edited Tik Tok, fanmade YouTube edits etc.)

We learned more about them as idols, as members, as friends and as brothers. All of what we learnt we learnt with the approval of either the members or their company.

The only other ways to have learnt about them without either theirs or their company’s approval, would have either been through paparazzi, stalker/sasaeng info, fictitious YouTube videos, rumours, guesses and assumptions.

Unless it came from the members directly, from their company, interviews, their music or their filmed content, it wasn’t meant for public consumption. It was most likely not in the members best interest and not in their control.

Now I’m not going to judge our consumption of the above mentioned ‘unapproved’ content. I myself have enjoyed and shared many sighting photos, concert videos, stories from people that had met them etc.

For example when Jikook were spotted heading to Tokyo, prior to that, their private schedule had actually been released, allowing some to know that the two of them had indeed planned to travel alone. They're private concert viewings of other idols & groups, their private cinema and dinner outing and more. This was enjoyable information for jikook fans, supporters and shippers to know but also scary information for the two’s safety, when in the wrong hands.

After their return from their private Tokyo trip that Jungkook organised and paid for as a gift to Jimin, Jungkook published a beautifully directed, edited and produced video of their trip. His first ever Golden Closet Film. On his terms we got full in colour, with meaningful (the permission to use Troye Sivan's song, again paid for by Jungkook) background music, a glimpse of their private trip, through Jungkook’s artistic eye. He shared with us his perspective of what he saw and how he felt felt during their private trip.

I give GCF Tokyo as an example, when we wait for THEM to show US, we get soo much more than 144p blurry images, mistranslations etc.

We get it straight from them, exactly how they see it or how they want us to see it, exactly how they feel it, or how they want us to feel it.

How do we stay with Jikook now?

They are on group hiatus, meaning we just had the last of the Run Bts’ for a while. Bangtan Bombs are now focused on solo endeavours not the group as a whole, to see the group dynamics at present, no group concerts, videos, interviews etc.

Therefore we no longer have company approved content. We still however get member approved content, such as when they go on live, Weverse interactions, music etc.

We still get ‘unapproved content’ such as stalker/sasaeng footage, paparazzi pictures & info, fictitious YouTube videos, rumours, guesses and assumptions.

However with the group just recently celebrating their 10th year anniversary, they are no longer new to idol life, they have learnt from their past, they have reduced their circle. They have increased their security, they are internationally known and more recognisable even with hats, masks & baggy clothes. They also have more money and access now, access to private jets, private rooms, private villas or even just getting whatever they want or need to the privacy of their own homes, no longer shared with a 7 member team.

They no longer have to leave the dorms for a change of scenery, after touring the world, after sharing a form for years, staying home could be said to be their change of scenery at times.

So it’s understandable that the ‘unapproved content’ would be massively reduced in comparison to if they had embarked on Chapter Two 5 years ago.

So we no longer have a lot of company approved content (yes of solo endeavours but rarely of more than 2 members at a time and rarely repeatedly), we don’t have as much ‘unapproved’ content.

What do we the consumers have left?

What the members show us and what the members tell us.

What have the members have shown us/told us?

Since Chapter 2 Jungkook has shown us that he had initially been enjoying down time. Rightfully deserves after training and working since the age of 13/14!

He went through puberty working in the public eye, away from home, away from his parents. Most westerners know how that turns out for some child stars. Bleak. Jungkook has shown the strength of his character by being able to maintain his humility, joy, humour, care for others & love for ARMY.

We know about his down time due to him sharing this with us through his weverse lives. Straight from him, not the company, not sasaengs but him. And we enjoyed it! We love our hours long late night lives with Jungkook. We’ve gone boxing with him, eaten fried chicken with him, sang & danced with him and even most recently had him fall asleep with us TWICE!

Isn’t content straight from the members soo much sweeter?

Jimin, whilst Jungkook was having his down time, was flying all over the globe and in and out of the company's studios & offices. He was having intense music camp like periods with producers and practicing for his solo debut. He didn’t share with us more than a couple of pictures here and there with different producers, but when he did launch his FACE promo and subsequent videos & album, we were and still are GAGGED. Jimin KILLED K-POP in 2023 and DOMINATED (and still is) the industry.

The wait well worth it and we LIVE still!

Jikook

Though the loss of official content for some feels like a Jikook drought, some feel like the loss of official content somehow now means the loss of Jikook’s bond, relationship, whatever you may believe it to be.

Some feel as though the lack of official Jikook means they never were all they felt them to have been. There are a number of things I have seen and heard in regards to Jikook since Chapter 2.

But what have JIKOOK themselves shown us. As I said before, aside from ‘unapproved’ content, which is severely reduced as the members are older, smarter, richer and wiser, we can really only truly rely on the members themselves.

Jungkook

With his downtime, as I said earlier, shared his boxing training, his eating, drinking, watching tv and sleeping with us.

However what did Jikook share with us when Jungkook was boxing?

What did Jungkook share with us when singing?

What did Jungkook share with us on white day?

How sweet was it to see his face light up with each of his interactions with Jimin? How fun was it to watch him stan over Jimin’s music? How cute was if to watch him uwu over Jimin’s interviews?

Jimin

We know had been super busy in being involved with every aspect of his solo debut.

His solo music was and is soo important to him. It was his priority in Chapter 2. However he never failed to show his support with his presence via the comments on MANY of Jungkook’s lives.

Not only that but the biggest gift to ARMY, Jikook supporters and Jungkook was Jungkook’s presence on an album that Jimin clearly stated in multiple interviews had no features. Jungkook’s name is in the credits and his do ring voice cannot be denied, but apart from the credits and the vocals, Jimin has never mentioned Jungkook’s participation.

I guess they really mean it when they say ‘You are Me & I am You’

Letter to *me* is Jimin’s GCF Tokyo. A labour of love, showing us the thoughts, feelings and emotions, this time not through video but through song.

What Jungkook & Jimin have shown us in Chapter two is MORE than enough for me, it’s just as sweet and even sweeter than any ‘unapproved’ or approved content.

If you still need more from them, that is not for their benefit, with their interests in mind or to cement their bond/relationship. That is your issue to deal with.

Whenever you feel like you need ‘more’ from Jikook than they’ve already allowed you to have, go back and watch their labour of love GCF Tokyo (heck pretty much all of the GCFs including Saipan), go back and listen to their labour of love ‘Letter’, go back and read their interviews.

If all of that is still not enough, it’s a you problem.

Not a them problem.

You know watching the first two episodes of AYS made me understand Jungkook so much better maybe because he was a little more chatty than he usually is when we see him on shows like ITS or Bon Voyage.

Jimin and Jungkook’s car conversation about not seeing each other or calling each other when they were both free made me understand that Jungkook is someone who isn’t very great at taking initiative to initiate things. When Jikook used to hang around each other alot some years back, I feel like that mostly only happened because of Jimin. I remember Hobi and Namjoon having a conversation in BV with Hobi mentioning that Jimin likes taking Jungkook places and then in one of those MBTI Labs episodes, Jungkook mentioned that for him to go somewhere, someone has to bring him with them. Putting all these together made me realize that the reason why Jikook probably didn’t see each other is because Jimin didn’t try to make the effort as he always does. Him saying that the travel show wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t push for it also solidified this belief because it seems like Jimin knew that while Jungkook wasn’t opposed to the idea of them doing the show together, he wasn’t going to make any moves for it it happen because he was fine if it happened or didn’t happen. In my opinion, if Jimin was actually interested in seeing or hanging out with Jk in the solo era, it would have happened but it seems like he wasn’t really interested in spending time with Jk either because Jimin literally made time for everyone else including visiting Jin in the military but couldn’t be bothered to give Jk a simple call or go to Jk’s house to eat the ramen he asked Jk to cook which i’m sure Jk would have happily cooked. He wouldn’t even let Jk come to him when Jk was more than ready to go to Jimin’s house to do a Live and then shower there later if only Jimin said the word but Jimin still said no. Makes we wonder what the issue was because Jimin generally makes time to spend with everyone he cares about. He also didn’t even try to visit and support Jk physically in the solo era even though he was there for everyone else. He visited RM, visited Hobi, visited Yoongi more than once and was also very present for Tae but he didn’t even go to GMA even though he was in the US, didn’t go to support Jk at Inkigayo and didn’t go to his concert either. This is so strange coming from Jimin because if there is one thing Jimin would do, it will be to be present for everyone he cares about even if he has to move mountains but it seems like he wasn’t even trying when it came to Jk.

I know you probably wouldn’t like to hear this but I see the exact same thing happening with taekook. I mean them probably not keeping up with each other much unless Tae makes the effort. In the solo era, taekook hung out alot together but when you really look at things, it was always Jk tagging along with Tae and his friends and never the other way around which makes me believe that those outings also happened probably because Tae made the effort to reach out and invite Jk to hang out with him and his friends which Jk didn’t mind ofcourse because I’m sure he likes hanging out with Tae. If he didn’t do this, maybe Taekook would have gone a long time too without hanging out because Jk probably wouldn’t have made the effort. I used to ask myself why we only saw Jk hanging out with Tae and his friends but never once saw Tae hanging out with Jk and his friends but after watching AYS and listening to Jimin and Jk talk, I finally got. I would have thought that maybe it was just a Jimin thing if Jimin and Jungkook had a history of never hanging out together but they don’t. They used to hang out together alot actually and then suddenly it just stopped happening and now it’s kinda clear to me that it stopped happening because the person who always made it happen just stopped trying.

When I look at everything we know about Taekook’s hangouts in chapter two and how Jk was mostly seen tagging along with Tae and his friends I just think it is obvious that most of those was just Tae probably bringing Jungkook out with him or asking him to join them. Was there any outing we know of that actually happened because of Jk? Bowling was with tae and friends, snowboarding, tae and friends, musical tae and friends, premiere, tae and friends, even Hawaii was still because Tae asked Jk to come join him. We saw Jk hanging out with his own friends but never saw tae tagging along too. Jk was constantly asked to do challenges with members and he would always say, they might not accept but we all know it would have happened if he asked. In the documentary, we saw Jimin calling Jk and asking him to come over and Jk went and then they went out with friends the next day to eat. Jk said if he didn’t go to Jimin’s place he would have just stayed home and had a beer or two so I think Jk would go if any of his loved ones asked him to come and do something but he probably just wouldn’t think to ask if they want to do something or maybe he really doesn’t feel like doing anything until someone proposes. Even with the travel show, he accepted when Jimin asked but didn’t really care if it happened or not but by the time they were done filming the episodes in NY, he was at the point where he wanted them to do atleast 12 more seasons or do it till they are 50 lol even though he was indifferent about it at first.

There probably really isn’t any point to this ask. I was just doing some thinking and wanted to see what you thought about it.

The conversation in the car is both of them admitting they didn't bother. You say Jimin didn't bother to see JK.

But you then place the lack of effort firmly with JK by making him a common denominator in your perception of his hangouts with Tae. Despite the fact that Jimin also didn't bother.

Didn't JK arrange the much referenced Tokyo trip?

As for Tae dates, I'm very confused by this passiveness you think JK has. Why do you think that?

Let's take Hawaii for example. Even if Tae begged "come quickly I miss you," it's still JK getting on a flight. It's still JK coming to him. All Tae had to do was be in Hawaii where he already was. JK made all the effort in that trip.

We don't know which of them organised Paradise. We don't know which of them organised Namsan. We don't know JK didn't ask Tae to be at Inkigayo (in fact, I would say "where were you?" suggests he had asked.)

We don't know JK didn't tell his driver to go straight to Tae's after long flights. We don't know JK isn't the one who showed up for a shower at Tae's place. We don't know that JK didn't invite Tae over to play with Bam.

(Also Tae has been spotted with JKs friends. Admittedly not with JK as far as I know but logically one can assume time has been spent for those relationships to have been established in that 97 line configuration.)

There's plenty of dates or events where the organiser is unknown. And this is just what we know about. We can very safely assume, knowing that hanging out at home is also a thing they do, that we know barely any of the time they might spend together.

And when there's this many unknowns, it's uncharitable and baseless to assume JK has never made an effort in his life or in his relationship. Hawaii proves that if JK wants to, JK will.

This idea is also a slight irritation to me as a depressive agoraphobic. I don't know if JK has that exactly but he's talked of being a homebody with social anxiety. In my experience, even if someone else is coaxing you out, the effort that goes into charging your battery for social stuff is not for nought. It is An Effort.

But we simply don't know. And while we don't know, I'm erring on the side of kindness and respect for Jungkook enough to not infantilise him and allow him agency as a grown man.

“ why are you talking like we’ll never see each other again? ” + lestat! thank you 🥰

I don't know why I seem to be stuck on the Prince Lestat era lately, but he's some post-PLROA Lestat/Armand arguing. About 1200 words.

Lestat stands in the doorway of Armand’s bedroom, watching as he carefully folds clothes and puts them into his suitcase. He tries to tamp down the rising panic that climbs up his throat and wonders if this is how Armand felt back in the late 80s, when they all started to pack up and leave The Night Island. 

“So it’s true? You’re taking your fledgling and absconding back to your stronghold in New York?” 

Armand glances over at him, expression unreadable. “That’s not what ‘absconding’ means.” 

Lestat waves a dismissive hand. He certainly has no desire to argue semantics. “I thought you supported this Court.” 

Armand smooths out a shirt on the top of his suitcase. “I’ve been here, haven’t I? Though my contributions are pushed aside, I endure it, because of my support for you.” 

“And yet now you’re retreating at the first opportunity!” Lestat argues. “I should forbid it!”

Armand rounds on him, eyes bright and full of fury. “Oh, do try and decree my required presence at your castle. I look forward to shattering your illusions.” 

Lestat huffs. He knows, of course, that if he and Marius begged and pleaded, Armand might stay. And Daniel will do what his maker does right now. The two are enamored with one another again. But Marius refuses to plead or apologize for the fight they’d had over the Replimoids. And Lestat will not beg. 

Armand goes to his closet and pulls down several suits. Then he retrieves a garment bag and starts the process of zipping the suits into it. 

“How long will you be gone?” Lestat asks.

Armand shrugs. “As long as Daniel and I desire.” 

“And what if you’re needed?” Armand doesn’t respond so he adds, “You’re an invaluable part of this Coven.” 

Armand gives him a hard look and lays the garment bag flat on the bed. “Why are you talking like we’ll never see each other again? You can traverse the ocean in hours and I have an army of planes. If I’m needed, I’ll come.” He turns back to study his luggage and adds, so quietly it’s nearly inaudible, “But you already know that.” 

Lestat sighs. If Armand leaves for a bit, taking young Daniel with him, so what? It’s just two of them. But the problem is that it’s like a party. Once one couple heads out, the others might start looking around and consider doing the same. And before long, he’ll be rattling around an empty castle, a Prince to everyone and no one. Alone. 

“I’ll command Marius to apologize,” he offers. 

Now Armand looks furious, his russet hair a fiery mane around his pale face as his amber eyes burn into Lestat. “You will mind your own business.” He hisses the words, his tone caustic. 

Lestat remains still, as if afraid he might provoke him further. The truth is, anger is radiant on him and only makes Lestat want to reach out and touch him, even if the result is getting bitten. After a long moment, he asks, “How can I convince you to stay?” 

Armand’s glare softens and his forehead crinkles the tiniest bit, such subtle change that a mortal might not even notice it. He opens his mouth to speak but then Daniel appears in the doorway, holding his own suitcase, a garment bag slung over his shoulder. He looks from Armand to Lestat and then, sensing he’s interrupting something, asks, “What’s going on?” 

“Lestat is wishing us bon voyage,” Armand says tersely, and he glares at Lestat, daring him to argue. 

Damn his timing! Lestat is sure he was chipping away at Armand’s resolve but one look at fledgling packed and ready to go, and all that progress is lost. Not that Lestat can blame him, not really. Daniel is a pretty thing, and he has such an easy air about him. No wonder the little imp wants to secret him away for some private time. 

Lestat starts to protest, but then Daniel smiles at him, and it’s disarming. “Thanks, man. You know, if you can get away, you should come visit. Everyone needs a break.” 

He’s so genuine and there’s a bounce in his step, a lightness in the way he lays his garment bag on top of Armand’s and then sits on the bed. He looks thrilled to be getting away with his maker. They haven’t had much time alone, that is true, and perhaps they deserve it. 

But Lestat needs Armand here, at his side. It’s where he belongs.

Besides, if he heads back to New York, what will stop Louis from deciding to join him? God knows he still calls the damnable townhouse home! And Sybelle and Benji and then Marius… It’s a house of cards and once Armand is removed, it all collapses. 

“Actually, I just suggesting that you two remain here,” Lestat says.

Daniel frowns slightly and looks at Armand, who’s too busy staring daggers at Lestat to look at him. “Do you want to stay?” he asks his maker. 

“No,” Armand says immediately. He closes his suitcase and pulls it to the floor, handing the handle to Daniel. “Will you take our luggage to the car? The plane will be ready in an hour and I’d like to leave shortly.” 

Again, Daniel looks from Lestat to Armand, uncertain, but then he does as he’s told, gathering up their luggage and obeying his maker. “See you later, man,” Daniel says to Lestat, and then he’s gone. 

“Must you be so selfish!” Armand hisses. “ I’ve given you everything: Louis, my house to call a Coven House, my counsel, which is repeatedly brushed aside.” 

Lestat opens his mouth and Armand steps closer, the one motion so imposing that Lestat immediately closes it again.

“And now I’m taking Daniel home. You can reach me if and when you desire, but you will not stand in my way.” 

Armand storms passed him out of the bedroom and into the rest of the apartment. He stops at the door to pull on a coat.

“What if they all leave?” Lestat blurts, unable to keep the nagging fear inside a moment longer.

Armand stops, mid-button, and looks at him. This time his expression is softer, more angelic. He sighs. “You cannot hold Court together by sheer force of will. You must build a Court that will endure no matter who comes or goes.” 

Lestat frowns. He doesn’t want to hear that. He wants reassurance. He wants Armand to stay. But Armand stubbornly finishes buttoning up his coat and lifts his auburn hair so it’s not caught in the collar. 

Then he turns and stares at Lestat for a long time. “Take advantage of the time it affords you with Louis,” Armand says. “And Daniel is right: you’re welcome to visit if the inclination strikes.” 

“Ah yes, so I can bring Louis and he can find some excuse to stay behind!” Lestat shouts.

Armand does not quite roll his eyes but he comes close. “Louis is perfectly capable of making his own decisions about where he wishes to reside. If you cannot keep him…”

Lestat hisses, the sound coming out of him unbidden, the frustration untenable. “You insufferable little imp!” 

“And that is why I’m taking my leave,” Armand says sharply. He turns and goes, closing the door behind him, leaving Lestat alone in his chambers. 

“You’ll be back!” he yells through the door, knowing that Armand will hear it. But the damned little cherub  doesn’t respond or return to argue the point.

So Lestat stands there trying to ignore the chasm in his chest that expands as he listens to his footsteps retreating down the hall.

Ays is too best friend coded to be having shipping fights weekly over it. People really need to get a life jesus. At this point when I see shippers (jkkrs or tkkrs) rambling about it, I feel the same way I do when I see trumpers talking about cats and dogs being eaten. Yeah sure that seems like a wild conclusion to have reached but I don't care enough about you to contradict you. In a way it's almost a relief it's finishing next week but we don't have any Jimin content to look forward to after that which is sad 😭

Ays was a more boring than I thought it would be but at least it fulfilled the prophecy of Jimin at the hot springs that we all wanted 🙏🏻

Yea AYS has been lackluster. I feel like the earlier seasons of Bon Voyage were a lot more entertaining. I am happy it’s ending though because between the type of sexualizing posts I’ve seen about Jimin from jkkrs and the standard tkkr fare my patience for it has been depleted. Thankful for the cute Jimin content it’s brought though at least. It was nice enough wind down transition from MUSE era. And we still have the exhibition to look forward to which I’m pretty sure we’ll get a lot of new content from so there’s that.

Jikook Week 24 Complete ✔️(21 - 28/05/2024)

Their twenty fourth week in the military is now complete and time to celebrate this milestone with a look back at this week in 2016.

This was The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever era with BTS promoting Epilogue: Young Forever, Fire and Save Me from when the album was released on the 2nd May 2024.

In mid-May, BTS began filming Bon Voyage 1 with a trip to Scandinavia to celebrate their three year anniversary. The adventure began on the 15th when they were told their destination and that the staff would not be on hand to help them to organise tickets and food. They would also be assigned a budget which they could not exceed for each country. They asked for a student backpacking like trip and that is what they got.

First was Norway followed by Sweden (19/05) and then Finland. They did a live from their first stop in Bergen, Norway on the 17/05/2016. It was the day after their arrival and Jungkook's coming of age celebration. This was the party where it was suggested they play rock paper scissors to see which one of them would give him a congratulatory kiss and only Jimin was up for it.

On the 19/05 they took a train trip and Jimin posted these photos on TwiX. Tired Kookie asleep on the train, que guapo!

Next they flew to Sweden and Jimin posted these photos looking handsome on the streets of Stockholm. They also did a group live.

On the 22/05 they were in Finland after cruising from Stockholm to Helsinki.

Unfortunately, RM losing his passport meant that he was unable to remain in Finland and had to take the first plane back to South Korea. It was not the way anyone wanted to finish the trip.

J-Hope and Jimin did a seven minute live in which they asked for suggestions on what to eat that night. Someone suggested lamb skewers and Jimin immediately thought Jungkook would love that.

They spent the afternoon in a sauna and playing games that ended in the loser having to jump into the cold water of the lake. Jimin ended up in the lake twice once accompanied by V and once by Suga.

Luckily there was a hot tub where they could all recover afterwards.

The next day it was JK and Yoongi's turn and lamb skewers were mentioned again, this time as a possible souvenir from their trip.

JK also talked about his early morning camera shoot and this is the amazing picture he took of the sunrise over the lake.

They arrived back in South Korea on 25/05/2016 and wow Jimin looked so cool walking through the airport.

I had so much fun watching the Bon Voyage 1 episodes and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen them yet. There were so many famous jikook moments that suddenly all slotted into place on the timeline.

Also these guys are the most forgetful group I've ever seen.

Jimin leaves his case on the airport bus and has to retrieve it

Hobi loses the ticket to the cable car which was luckily picked up a tourist and returned to him.

RM leaves his bag behind (but the staff actually retrieve it and give it back to him)

RM loses his passport and the replacement travel papers will only allow him to fly back to South Korea and not continue the vacation in Finland. He was so disappointed and the last leg of the trip wasn't the same without him.

V gets lost in the middle of nowhere after getting on the wrong bus from Stockholm airport and then getting off the bus at a random stop.

We all know that I think Brother Bear is the Magnum Opus of Disney and I've elaborated on that in a previous post. This one will therefore be dedicated to Pixar's Magnum Opus.

Moana, I hear you ask? Inside Out? Up?

No.

The Incredibles.

In order for it to be an amazing film there has to be layers to it. Inside Out, to me, is pretty one dimensional. I didn't get a lot out of it. Moana was okay, but nothing special, like I didn't hate it but I didn't love it.

But the Incredibles? It was amazing.

To start off with, this came out in 2004. Do you know what other superhero films were out in this era? Spider Man. Tobey McGuire's Spiderman. Other than that, the superhero franchise hadn't really hit off. It would be years until Iron Man, Captain America or even the Dark Knight would have the impact it would have on cinema. (The Dark Knight trilogy is great btw. I love and accept it as canon way more readily than I do the Snyder verse. That verse can go away and never see the light of day)

the point is, for this movie to have survived, nay, thrive, in a superhero-less world is astounding and I think that's just down to good writing, characterisation and the story itself.

To start off with, I didn't know this was set in the 60's until like, a month ago. But now I do know I love it. It fits so well and answers so many questions. The 60's were like the golden age of heros, or, what we call the golden age. You had the batman show in the 60's, you had the golden age of comics. It's just right that the Incredibles is set in the 60's too.

In terms of storytelling this is good too. We see that they still have phones and computers and tv's but they're limited. No smart phones, the technology that we would see in present day is high tech to them. I love it because it isolates the characters so well. The reason why a lot of shows these days die is because they set it in our modern world. The convenience we have in being able to send messages to each other is just ridiculous. In order to create a good story you need a way to isolate your characters. There needs to be mystery. By limiting the Incredibles to what was available in the 60's Brad Bird eliminated the questions on why Mr Incredible didn't just send a text to his wife or Edna that he was in danger. Why the other heros didn't ask for help. Their technology is limited, their data plan is nonexistent, they can't contact people across the world and this is great for creating an interesting story.

Starting back at the beginning, I think it's really interesting how we're introduced to Buddy. A lot of superhero sidekicks are literally found like Buddy was hoping to be found. He has the intelligence too. He basically did a Tim Drake. He tracked Mr Incredible down, he made himself available and he showed that he had the skills to at least be a good hero. The only difference here is that Mr Incredible's world isn't Batman's world. Buddy didn't persevere like Tim Drake did, he took his knowledge and he twisted it for evil which, again is such a good analysis or interpretation of what Tim Drake could have been if he didn't put on those Robin colours and force Batman to take him on board.

Then we get to the lawsuit. So, if you didn't get it, the Incredibles kind of honoured marvel here. I think X Men was out by now. It should have been. Yes. It was out in 2000. So the concept of mutants being second class citizens was known to those who watched the beginning of the MCU. The Incredibles is paying homage to this by making supers illegal. The supers are creating too much damage, they're doing more harm than good. Therefore the common people are fighting back and making them retreat back into the shadows. Again, an interesting concept because what happened to all these villains? What happened when Bon Voyage escaped prison again? How many people did he kill without Mr Incredible there to help catch him? We don't know but it's always been a wonder of mine as to how the world is as peaceful as it is when we catch up with the Incredibles in present day. How did they get to that point?

I'll never know.

Mr Incredible and Elastigirl, I think are Batman and Catwoman. I think. Meta Batman and Catwoman. They have the same feel, the same banter of Batman and Catoman but they could be another superhero couple. Either way, they have their happy ending by getting married and having kids

There's an interesting post out there explaining the kids names and the connection to their powers which I loved. So, yeah, dash- superspeed. He's the Flash, he's quicksilver. He's basically kid flash right now, or impulse since, is impulse born with his powers? Whatever the case, he doesn't quite know the extent of his powers just yet because he grew up in a world where supers are in hiding. Which, again, makes me question what happens to those heros who don't hide. There had to be a penalty for them beyond being sued. Back to the kids. Violet- ultraviolet light that can be invisible. There's also something about her being a teenager and keeping everyone out which is why she has her forcefields. She's also Susan Storm, that's the inspiration for her character's powers. Jack Jack is jack of all trades. His inspiration, I think, is Legion. I'm not too sure. Either way, I love their names and how they tie into their characters and powers.

Helen and Bob are aliases. People know that right? I'm pretty sure they got different identities through the years after their covers were blown. They would have to. Even in the 60's people could be tracked down, that's why they have this rehoming program for supers. It makes me wonder what Bob and Helen's real names are. I think they're alias's anyway. Either way, their last name would have to have changed over the years. At the beginning of the movie it's Parr which means average.

Which is what they're trying to be. They're trying to be average. But they aren't, that's the whole point of the movie. They're the only ones who are capable of doing what the government, what ordinary people, can't. They're the only ones who can adapt and put themselves in danger to stop Syndrome who spent his entire teenage and adult life trying to destroy supers. The whole message of the movie is there at the beginning. Violet and Dash can't help but use their powers because it's a part of them. They aren't normal, they're never going to be normal and they shouldn't have to be.

Mirage is an interesting character to look at. She's very Bond esque. It felt like they were mixing genres by introducing her but it works. She's a powerful woman at the head of an organisation. But then there are layers to her. Her name is literally Mirage, she's not what she seems. She looks good but is secretly working for Syndrome. But the real message is that she's on the bad guy's team but she's not a bad person. She does what's right for Mr Incredible, she lets him and his family go. She also suffers the Bond girl trope where she's either killed off or injured but her character arc is kind of over at this point so it works. That's the point with some tropes, they're not necessarily good but they work because they serve a purpose. Mirage doesn't need to be in the picture anymore so she needs an excuse to not be there. She's injured, easy, she's out of the picture now. It's not bad writing, it's just practical writing. Otherwise we'd be asking where she was.

I think I want to dedicate this part of why the Incredibles is amazing to focus on the super's graveyard. Not only the one Syndrome made, but the ways the supers have died over the years. Edna describes so many supers dying from such mundane things like a costume malfunction. How many of them perished before Edna refused to give them a cape? How many funerals were there over the years?

I think it's also important we focus on the supers graveyard for another reason too. Bob isn't the only super out there that feels like his purpose in life was taken away. The reason why these people take such mundane jobs as covers is because they have something else in their lives that makes them feel fulfilled. By not being allowed to fulfill that purpose they're only left with the mundane, and for us it's okay because this is the only thing we know, but for them? With their powers? It must feel so... disheartening or another word I can't think of right now. But to be talked down to, to not be recognised. It's not narcissism that has them out there helping people. They're good people trying to do good in the world because they can. It's sad that they can't, and it's horrible that this good nature is took advantage of by Syndrome. He murdered them horrifically. He turned their strengths against them, he made a murder bot, isolated them on an island, and had them hunted down just because he was told to go home as a child. To not be put in danger like kids shouldn't be put in.

It begs the question again, what happened to the other villains? Where are they? Why is Syndrome the only one we see appear in this gap of superhero history? I was expecting the 2nd Incredibles to focus on more villains that had cropped up in the shadows while they were gone but it didn't. Not really. the 2nd one wasn't as good as the 1st one. It was good, but it was lacking the layers the 1st one has. The questions on why and where. A lot of the new one was focused more on the family than the plot where as the first one had a good balance of the two.

Anyway, back to the analysis. This is such a good origin movie for Violet, Dash and Jack Jack. You have the mentors in Mr and Mrs Incredible, the ones who are experienced and handling a lot of the action. Then you have the young ones finding their powers and discovering what they can do, what they're capable of. You feel happy when you see Violet protect her brother with her shield. You're elated when Dash can run on water. They're little things that an experienced hero isn't able to elicit because they're used to their powers and we see this in the ease Mr Incredible has in himself and his capabilities, same as Mrs Incredible when she's worming her way into the compound. This movie is both an origin movie as well as kind of like a comeback. Mr and Mrs Incredible are out of retirement and the kids are stepping up into roles they never dreamed they could have.

The colour story is good too. Mr Incredible's old suit is blue. It's the suit he wore as a standalone hero. It's the suit he wears when he goes out with Frozone and the suit he wears on the island for the first time. It's the suit he wears where he's separated from his family. He's blue, he's alone. Red is a danger colour, it's passion, it's what groups this family together. They are the danger to Syndrome. They also have the yellow there to lesson the impact of the red. It's a happy colour, very soothing and lets us know that they're on the good team. It's also Elastigirl's old colour, or one of them. It's Bob finally including Helen in his life

There's a lot more to this movie I can't think of it right now.

Jackal Queenston was an alias under the Halley Labs label. He is a hybrid of a jackal and a German shepherd, who was often seen smoking and wearing attire originally inspired by the Nazi Party and other WW-II era uniforms, as time went on, JQ's outfit would slightly change to reflect less of its original appearance, with the Nazifur symbol being replaced with an X as a homage to Metal Slug, to the armband and hat badge being completely removed. He typically produced drum and bass, characterized by heavy bass lines, fast drum breaks, and dark themes alluding to violence or power.

Jackal Queenston originally debuted as a new character for the Mungyodance series, with songs first appearing in an official Addon Pak for MGD 2 and then MGD 3: The Third Rave, released on August 23, 2008. His first album, Rise, included several songs originally made for the Addon Pak.

Due the rise of Neo-Nazism on the internet, no possibility to redesign this character without connection to offensive content, and the restrictions of the alias's sound, Jackal Queenston was retired around the end of 2020.

Jackal Queenston is 5'7" and weighs 150 lbs. [citation needed]

The 'X' insignia seen on Jackal's armband is an homage to the Rebel Army from the video game Metal Slug.

This change was made by Squeedgemonster, who eventually removed the armband in other art. Em agreed to these changes. [1]

Before Squeedge's Metal Slug homage, in older artwork it is seen that Em wanted Jackal's armband to have an paw insignia, depicting that Jackal is a Nazi Fur.

Jackal's markings used to be that of a golden jackal, but were changed later on to show more resemblance to a German Shepherd.

Jackal may hold the record for songs that were later attributed to another alias, with Amber Starlight (re-attributed to The Queenstons), Sleep Tight (re-attributed to Adraen), Soulcrusher + Heartsifter (both re-attributed to G-DARIA, Darius' stylistic predecessor. They were originally collaborations with Sonitus Vir). Poison & After Effect (both re-attributed to Azrael, as collaborations between the two), and My Wolf Eats Preps (re-attributed to Renard). Humanoid was originally a Jackal song (It is still available on ON Trax Vol. 1), but it was later re-released with vocals on The Queenstons' album Figurehead.

Em has expressed that Jackal Queenston is due for a design overhaul to completely be rid of looking like a Nazi. [2]
