ok so post episode reflection time. i wanted to like the episode but it just wasn't as memorable as other finales, which is weird for me because it was meant to be the 'last' before the move to ABC happened. this episode felt bungled, let me go into why.

1.) okay so this sounds weird to complain about but that bridge collapse sucked. nobody was in true peril, there never felt like there was stakes honestly other than brief scenes with hen and chim. i wanted there to be a serious injury, i cannot lie. i'm tired of the 118 being fine after these things and just bouncing back like nothing happened. it's too episodic, if that's the word. things aren't lasting

2.) speaking of no stakes, bobby was heavily implied to be hurt. he was not. all we hear is that he hurt his shoulder and needs scans. chim was completely harmlessly impaled pretty much, just walk it off. that whole thing was traumatic in many ways and bobby and chim should not have been so scot-free in an episode that required high stakes

3.) chimney had gloves on and wasn't wearing The Ring of Power. -1000 points from Gryffindor for that one babes sorry

4.) i'm not super against buck/natalia as a couple but it felt weirdly rushed because she came in literally last minute for the birth then started dating buck. maybe it's just because i wanted her to show up at lucy's doorstep because i'm a garbage eating goblin with no self control

5.) the eddie/marisol thing. i really really really wanted to hold out hope that she would defy the trope of 'firefighter gets the girl after saving the day'. i genuinely thought she'd be involved in this 'mass casualty accident' that was over in like ten minutes. seriously wtf was this bridge collapse??? where is the drama, i can't see it???

6.) what in the world was that meditation scene? why did we time skip so far ahead that the flashbacks seem like flash forwards??? what is going on with this pacing it's like being dragged behind a truck with a drunk driver at the wheel

7.) the fucking speed they tore through every plot line this episode was unreal. the bridge collapse served us a nothing sandwich in ten minutes flat, the 118 checked in and checked out of the hospital before i could blink. the relationships were slammed in in such short fast scenes they felt forced and sudden. they did the time warp and blew through weeks of development and the birth of a baby that honestly happened so fast idk how much time went by between that and the cute little bwidge cowapse. seriously the pacing sucked, really girl give us nothing

8.) the episode was pretty much only saved by the cast. i cannot describe how disappointed i felt about this finale. despite amazing work from the actors, things flew by too fast, the tone was all wrong from a directorial and production standpoint, relationships felt mishandled. like i'm sorry, henren are going to have another baby in the house and we get... a hug? a time skip and a h u g??? buck has this super moving scene getting to see the life he gave to his friends to nurture and is able to let go and does the time warp into a new relationship, eddie is pressured by chris to call marisol, who didn't even appear until the last 2 minutes (??????????) now they're going on. a date??? bobby is totally fine after being pinned in a metal bin by an suv and an ambulance and a bunch of concrete because apparently bobby has fucking adamantium bones and has +100 resistance to crush damage. like literally i'm not even a little nervous when bobby gets pancaked because he's literally that cartoon character that pops up from being flattened like 'i'm ok!' *insert clown silly noises* where is the writing, sis? where?????

9.) where was the wedding? we get a rooftop meditation flashback/flash forward thing with weird thoughts from all the characters but not the fucking madney wedding???? i wanted to see chim barely survive that bridge collapse and have the viewers thinking he was going to perish before seeing him at the parish in a boyle style butt cast or something marrying maddie because literally being strapped to a flaming gurney wouldn't stop him. instead chim is magically fine and there isn't a wedding. i'm going to eat glass

10.) lucy: i have a sprained ankle *gets in a helicopter and flies out of the series* WOULD YOU LET THE FEMALE FIREFIGHTERS STICK AROUND AND DO THEIR JOBS PLEASE??

god it was just so unsatisfying. imagine if the tsunami episodes plot was over in 10 minutes with no stakes at all. like really?? idk what it is but the stakes in this season have literally never been lower. the earlier seasons had me INVOLVED in the emergencies. things have gotten so goofy lately. most emergencies are comedic and unserious, the writing isn't taking the characters as seriously as their actors, it feels like one of those happy AU fanfics that I just struggle through reading because you know it's going to be saccharine and there's nothing that's going to happen that's gripping which you would expect in a drama series.

I like creative mind projects. This became one of them.

Alright let’s set the basics of this ‘show’. The Xavier Institute, situated in Salem, Westchester, is run by Charles Xavier. A professor, doctor, and world renowned author and scientist. However he possesses a secret, a discovery he made on his travels abroad: mutants. He has returned home and opened a school for those said mutants, and we follow his ‘first class’.

Our main characters, at least for season one, would be the og five. Scott, Jean, Warren, Bobby, and Hank. And guess what? The school actually is a school. They take classes taught by Charles, and do superhero stuff on the side. Here is their everyday clothes:

Think the vibes of X-men Evolution. The show would focus on the dual life of the kids, but would also focus on them being kids. The trouble they get into, the antics they get up to. The drama that comes with being a teenager. Additional clothes(on colder days)

So what is everyone’s backstory?

Scott Summers Scott has a very similar life to the one we know. Parents dead in a plane ‘accident’ and him being separated from his brother in the foster care system. He goes from house to house until his mutation manifests. In which he is thrown into a few bad situations regarding his foster parent using him for his powers, before being found by Charles. Scott was the first student to live on campus, but by far not the first student, however he sees Scott as a father(even if Charles doesn’t see him as his son). He is a mix of the cautious and rather reserved. He’s malnourished body earned him the nickname Slim, but don’t let the meek act fool you. He is sarcastic as you could imagine and has a very strong moral code. He will make a good leader.

Jean Grey Jean’s telekinesis came to her when she was young. Charles has been a constant figure in her life since then, almost taking on what she might call an ‘uncle’ role. He has been working with her for years, and was the first to know when her telepathy manifested, at the death of her best friend. To Charles, she was his first student, and the closest thing he feels he has to a kid. She joins the team last, the premier episode being about her moving into the mansion. She is feisty and spirited. The most reckless of the five, but also oddly balanced in responsibly. She knows she’s powerful and she fears it.

Warren Worthington III Warren’s wings did not grow in until he was away at boarding school. Lucky for him, he could hide them well at first by dropping all the sports he played. Warren used to play the part of an upstuck rich kid very well, but that never was him. When his wings fully came in, he spent the nights saving people from muggers and robbers. He realized it felt good to do something his parents would never do. When Charles offered him a place at the school he toke it, and has been learning to move past his rich ego, however some habits are hard to break. Warren still loves posh language and loves the fact that he is the richest among his friends, but also has a genuine want to help others.

Bobby Drake Bobby always knew he was different. He was gay. Something he found very hard to hide. That was until he found out he was a mutant, something he could hide behind. Bobby’s manifestion consisted of him freezing his entire room and himself, in a very Elsa manner. His parents were outraged, which caused Bobby to realize he could never come out to his parents. Charles came and wiped his parents mind, making everything easier, but Bobby still has the secret he has told no one. A secret he still hasn’t fully realized himself. Bobby hides his self loathing and anxieties behind bad jokes that he hops will be funny. As the youngest on the team, he often deals with the need to prove himself.

Hank McCoy Hank was good at hiding. His physical mutation made him very ape like in appearance, but if he stood the right way, played his card rights, and knew the right people, he could make everyone look past it. He was a genius, but hid behind a football jock exterior, an explanation for his body that made people look past him. Hank joined the school under the belief that he would not need to pretend anymore, and so he let go of his football alter ego. He prefers his academic side and is interested in pursuing the world of knowledge. He has a very academic way of speaking, but oddly really understands human emotion. He pushes himself hard and loves any and every form of learning.

In this show, the X-men was created by Charles as a way to get the public ready for the announcement of mutants, but they become so much more. Charles originally thinks that if the public can see super-powered people helping the world, they will be less likely to attack those people. He designs his perfect team, and even designs their suits.

The team….likes them….kinda

Within the first season, mutants would be exposed to the public and the X-men’s fight focus on the fight of oppression and proving they can be good. Teased in the final moments of season one, Scott will reveal the x-costumes he has designed for everyone. These would be the suits worn from then on forward, representing a switch from being Xavier’s X-men to the X-men that fight for mutant kind.

Additionally we would have lots of very weird love triangles!! Hank is not apart of it, because he very easily finds Vera who becomes his girlfriend. Bobby has a crush on Scott however. He plans to go to the grave with this fact. Warren and Scott both like Jean. Maybe they like each other….who knows? Jean on the other hand has no care in the world for romance at the moment and misses every interaction.

Some of the prominent names that would show up in the first season is of course Magneto. Magneto would be the battle for the first episode, and then there for the reveal of mutants, and then the final battle. He is the big overarching ‘villian’. Other villains would consist of classic 60’s villains such as Vanisher and the rest of the brotherhood. However Scarlet Witch and QuickSilver would not appear till season 2.

Additionally Xavier has a divorcee(that’s not Erik shocker) that is Moria McTaggert. I love the idea of them being bitter exes that have tea with each other and talk shit. Moria is mainly a doctor in Scotland, but would make appearances when one of the kids get to injured. Additionally she has ties to the CIA and aides Charles that way.

The thing about superhero au parrot duo is that. Okay.

So Bobby was taken away from them by the FoH, and they both know that he’s okay. They’ll always be able to recognize their son, and they know he’s kicking ass. But also? He’s their son, and he’s a child, and he shouldn’t be a superhero!! Roier doesn’t even want to be a superhero, and he’s Spider-Man!!

So they both have come up with different ways to try and make sure Bobby is safe:

Roier wants to destroy the Federation. He’s never liked them, anyway. He just wants his son back, and he’s fine if he gets in a bit of trouble over it because he knows he’s OP as hell. He’s more than happy rescuing the other kids in the program, too, because, again, children should not be superheroes

Jaiden, though? She finally gave in and joined the FoH as the hero Blue Bird in hopes that doing so would allow her access to Bobby again. But she’s too low-rank for that and she’s kinda sort been slowly manipulated by Cucurucho and the other :)s to more or less just be on their side

They both know each other’s secret identities, it’s just a matter of when Jaiden’s loyalty to Roier runs out. She says she’ll never turn him in, but, lately, he’s starting to wonder if she’s telling the truth…

Chapter 13

Melody’s promotion went through very quickly and by the end of the month, she was juggling three different jobs and earning three times what she’d been working at the start of the month.  While the new job came with new friends and new employees who hadn’t known that six months ago she’d been an unpaid intern, the people at the Daily Bugle who had seen her meteoric rise through the ranks weren’t all supportive.

Some were fine.  Ben Ulrich was happy in his job as an investigative journalist and always would be.  The Bugle could go through every change in focus possible, as long as he could expose secrets in the superhero world, he'd be happy.  Peter Parker was excited for her, especially given it meant he was getting more regular work that fit around his rather bizarre schedule.

Some of the others resented her for the fact she’d somehow become Jameson’s golden child.  The person who couldn’t seem to hide her disdain the most was Norah Winters. The views-obsessed writer hated the fact that Melody was such a popular choice for celebrity and superhero interviews, nor the fact she’d been given the job as lead editor of what was now officially known as the Blast.  She thought that was her rightful job given how much she’d done to get the kind of clickbait content the Blast would run off.  It shocked her that her mean-spirited clickbait was not the vibe that Jameson had wanted for the new website.  Besides, Melody being so young and new to the industry meant he could pay her so much less than the more seasoned Norah.

Two weeks after Melody had started the job, she was well underway curating the new content, she’d found an apartment with two bedrooms that she and Bobbi could afford.  It was a large percentage of their combined income, but that’s how New York was, and they had been getting by until now.  It was also six blocks further up, so there was now three minutes more travel time and they were further from the parts of Central Park that they liked best, but it would all be worth it when they moved in and had their own rooms.

Steve and Bucky had been helping the women move in, going so far as to borrow a van from the Tower and load it with their stuff in the few hours a day all four of them were free at the same time.  It had been slow going, but tonight they were bringing the last of their things over, including the beds.  As soon as she was done for the day Steve would pick her up and they’d head over there.

“We’re never going to beat the puppy interview,” Melody said as she packed up her things for the day.  “But we definitely need something that people are excited for.  I wonder if we could ever convince people to try different kinds of alcohol or edibles because that would be hilarious.”

As she spoke to the other members of staff who were working on content of The Blast, Peter Parker came out of Jameson’s office and made his way through the bullpen.  “Pete,” she called.  “You know, Spider-Man.  You think he’d do an interview while doing shots or trying different edibles?”

“Ahh… no I don’t think so,” he said, pausing and looking over the top of her cubicle.  “You’re close with Captain America, why don’t you ask him?”

“His metabolism is too high, he processes drugs and alcohol too fast for them to affect him,” she said.

“That must be fun when he’s injured,” Jasmine, the new intern said.

Melody shrugged.  “Yeah, it’s probably not fun,” she agreed.  “Okay… what about something like a scavenger hunt?” she suggested.  “We ask questions as we go around the city looking for clues.”

“Spider-Man might be into that, but it sounds like it would be a long interview.  It might be hard to lock most celebrities down for the time you need,” he said.

“And knowing Spider-Man he’d just leave halfway through because someone would have robbed a bank or something,” Jasmine added.

“Hmm… well we could put it on the docket as a possibility if we have more time with the people.  If we get a really fun host and start with people we know, it might work,” Melody said.  She made a quick note in her notebook to work on the idea.  It might be a good one for Bobbi to host.  “What about something where we get them to try different snack foods?  Potato chips from around the world.  All those different KitKat flavors.  Pizza slices from around the city.”

“Now that Spider-Man would be totally down for.  Hawkeye would do the pizza one in a heartbeat,” Peter said.

Melody looked up at him and raised an eyebrow.  “You know Hawkeye too?”

“Uhhh… everyone knows Hawkeye loves pizza,” Peter said quickly.  “I better go.  Photos to take, homework to do.”

He hurried out toward the elevator and Melody checked her phone for the time.  “Shit.  I gotta get out of here too.  If you have any ideas, we’ll workshop them on Monday.  Have a good weekend.”

She grabbed her bag and dashed to the elevator.  Peter was nowhere to be seen but Norah was stepping into the open elevator car.  Melody ducked in beside her and moved to the back.  The doors closed and Melody looked up at the display showing what floor they were on.

“I know you're dating Steve Rogers,” Norah said.

The statement took Melody by surprise. Not because it was a secret she was dating Steve, just that the accusation was so banal. If Norah had accused her of breathing air she might have been just as surprised.  

“What?”

Norah turned to face her.  “I know you're dating Steve Rogers.”

Melody kept facing forward, not wanting to engage.  “That's not a secret, Norah.  I've never tried to keep it a secret.”

“It's not exactly well known though either.  I mean you talk. about him in that little column of yours but you never mention his name or what he does.  And I don't see the paparazzi hounding you.  Shit, even your X posts lack the weirdo obsessives trying to make you want to break up with him. It sounded like a threat, but Melody wasn't sure what the woman was threatening.  She couldn't stop her from posting the gossip.  Shit, she'd been expecting someone to.

“What's your point?”

“My point is, I know you must have something on Jameson.  He'd have been telling you that you had to dish the dirt if you didn't.  Not to mention this promotion that should have been mine.”

Melody rolled her eyes and thankfully the elevator opened on the ground floor.  “You're paranoid.  Jameson knows that if I keep things quiet I might have better access to the Avengers for the fluff things I write.  You're the one that writes the kind of gross shit that would end a relationship, not me.  And the promotion was more about saving money than anything else.  You know he's a Scrooge.  Go home and relax.  There's no grand conspiracy here.”

“Yeah well, I think you've had too good of a ride,” she said.  “But thankfully you've given me a great idea.”

Melody stopped and watched Norah leave through the large glass doors at the front.  She didn't like the sound of that, but she had no idea what the woman could be planning other than outing a relationship that wasn't in any way a secret.

She shook her head and went out the side door to the alley.  Steve and Bucky were waiting for her in the large silver van.  The side door slid open automatically when she approached and she jumped in, kissing Steve on the cheek before buckling up.

“You ready to spend your first night in your new apartment?” Steve asked.

“You know I am,” she said.  “Let's do this.”

It didn't take very long to get the last of Melody and Bobbi’s things over to the new apartment.  Having two supersoldiers made moving furniture a lot faster and a lot less effort.  Plus, Melody found it extremely hot seeing Steve just hoist her bed base on his shoulder and carry it up the four flights of stairs to her apartment like it was nothing.

What kinda ultimates do you think the members of QSMP would have?

to absolutely No One’s surprise i have, in fact, thought about this extensively. so here are all the ones i’ve decided on

jaiden is, obviously, the ultimate animator. not only is it true to her, it Also matches up with sdr2’s backstory as to how despair spread (as stupid as i think that explanation was). if they’re in a simulation, it would make sense for a danganronpa au that they were put there for the same reason that the 77th class was to return them to their pre-remnant states. (additionally, i think the explanation for the new arrivals would be that the brazilians, french, etc weren’t captured with the original cast and found later, hence why they weren’t added in at the beginning)

someone joked about ultimate yandere for forever and ADMITTEDLY i did toy with the idea. as funny as it is, i think he’d more accurately be the ultimate terraformer/landscaper, considering his past clearing of a mountain and current clearing of an entire desert. maybe ultimate yandere could be a secret title, like junko’s ultimate analyst or the ultimate hope title?

pac and mike definitely have matching ultimates in the science field somewhere, considering they’re currently building their laboratory/factory! i’m not sure what exactly yet tho, just that they’re somewhere around there

regarding jesse and dean saying they could use him in a fight… do you think maybe dean’s motivations are two fold in the sense that he is thinking about how useful jesse could be but also thinking about being able to protect jesse better if he’s just already with them? somewhat like sam’s initial motivations regarding jack if that makes sense

Context

Sam and Dean definitely wanted to protect Jesse—there's no question about that one. They both burst into Jesse's house after Cas flies away to kill Jesse when Sam and Dean refused to go along with it. Even Cas didn't want to kill Jesse—he just thought it was what was necessary (and Cas's ruthlessness in these sorts of circumstances is also a through line—all the way to the Rosemary's Baby storyline in season 12 where he goes behind Sam and Dean's backs to kill Kelly). But the actual plan to take Jesse with them was born out of an argument with Cas where Sam and Dean were trying to keep Jesse alive while being realistic about the fact that demons would continue hunting him.

When Cas first arrives in the motel and opens with "We should kill Jesse", Sam and Dean let him explain, but then Dean tries to reason Cas toward the solution being, "We should just leave him the hell alone":

DEAN Well, if Jesse's a demonic howitzer, then what the hell's he doing in Nebraska? CASTIEL The demons lost him. They can't find him. But they're looking. DEAN And they lost him because? CASTIEL Because of the child's power. It hides him from both angels and demons. For now. DEAN So he's got, like, a force field around him. Well, that's great. Problem solved.

Cas insists that Jesse is growing stronger because of Lucifer's rise, and something he does will draw the demons attention and he'll be found. This crushes Dean's "Just leave him alone with his parents" angle, and Sam interjects to tell Cas that they aren't killing a child not matter what. Dean backs Sam on this, while pushing a new solution that takes Cas's concerns into account:

Okay. Hey, look, we are not going to kill him. All right? But we can't leave Jesse here either. We know that. So...we take him to Bobby's. He'll know what to do.

Cas objects to this too, saying they have no way to actually get Jesse to come with them to Bobby's, much less stay with them. So Sam pushes another solution, which is to tell Jesse the truth. This does the opposite of placate Cas, and he flies off to kill Jesse without their support.

So Sam and Dean both wanted to protect Jesse. They didn't want to kill him. They tried to compromise with Cas by saying they'd take Jesse to Bobby's where he'd be safe.

Nobody was talking about Jesse actually helping them in a fight until Sam and Dean rushed over to the house, and Dean, who never said he was onboard with telling Jesse the truth, tries to get him to come with them somewhere safe without telling him the truth, because (as he says at the end of the episode) he wishes his own dad had lied to them when they were kids. Jesse's become aware of his own powers though, so what Dean comes up with is that Jesse is a superhero.

DEAN You're a superhero. JESSE I am? DEAN Yeah. Yeah. I mean, who else could turn someone into a toy? You're Superman—minus the cape and the go-go boots. See, my—my partner and I, we work for a secret government agency. It's our job to find kids with special powers. In fact, we're here to take you to a hidden base in South Dakota, where you'll be trained to fight evil. JESSE Like the X-Men? DEAN Exactly like the X-Men. In fact, the, uh, guy we're taking you to—he's even in a wheelchair. You'll be a hero. You'll save lives. You'll get the girl. Sounds like fun, right?

Much of season 4 is about the inevitability of hunting from Sam and Dean's perspectives—that at a certain point, you are in the life too deep to get out. Sam and Dean never had a choice in this life and now it's too late and they have to make the best of it. In season 4, Sam mainly talks about it as something he wouldn't change anyway (until the end) but Dean pretty consistently grieves (4.04, 4.08, 4.12, 4.12, 4.19, 4.21). Jesse is similarly already trapped in the life by the circumstances of his birth and the fact that demons are looking for him.

So what Dean does here is a reflection of his own coping skills with being trapped in hunting when he was a kid. This is a Dabb and Loflin episode, and what Dean does here mirrors Dean's childhood romanticization of hunting according to their previous episode, 4.13 "After School Special", where it's obvious that in order to cope with the weight of John's neglect and the stress of responsibility to the family and being trapped in the life, a young Dean pushes himself to focus on the fact that they're a family of heroes, that they have a sweet setup at the motel with free ice, and being left there for weeks in charge with no curfew is fun and not stressful and soul-crushing at all. Dean talks about a similar narrative from around that age in 2.03 when he describes to Gordon how he embraced the life as a teenager by telling himself he was seeing things other kids his age never got to see, and we later contrast this with "Bad Boys".

Adult Dean's feelings are very different from the feelings of that kid who was just trying to cope. We see this starting in 2.10 and 2.11 when Dean refers to John's last words as "Screaming in his head all day" and says "I wish to god he never opened his mouth" and "Well Dad's an ass! He never should have said anything. I mean, you don't do that, you don't, you don't lay that kind of crap on your kids!" Then at the end of 5.06:

DEAN You know, we destroyed that kid's life by telling him the truth. SAM We didn't have a choice, Dean. DEAN Yeah. You know, I'm starting to get why parents lie to their kids. You want them to believe that the worst thing out there is mixing Pop Rocks and Coke—protect them from the real evil. You want them going to bed feeling safe. If that means lying to them, so be it. The more I think about it...the more I wish Dad had lied to us. SAM Yeah, me too.

Dean wishes John had protected them. He didn't want to be left with the weight of Sam's demonic destiny on his shoulders (that also signified Dean's own potential to become a monster he didn't want to be). So at first, Dean tries to fill Jesse's head with vague ideas that he's a hero and destined for good. Then when Sam tells Jesse the truth, Dean urges Jesse to come with them somewhere safe, where he can train and "you'd be handy in a fight, kid". I don't know—I think it's hard to say whether Dean really meant he'd ask Jesse to fight side by side with them in the apocalypse, and also how far that would go even if they did end up asking Jesse to use his powers to assist them. Like Dean is pretty consistently against involving kids in the life. I do think at the very least, Dean was trying to instill a sense of heroism into Jesse to reinforce that he doesn't have to be evil just because he's half demon and some demons want him to help them kill people. Sam also doesn't object because he also sees Jesse having to come with them as inevitable. After Jesse says "What if I don't want to fight?" Sam tries to talk him through it (he also suggests Jesse has to abandon his parents to protect them). The thing is, Jesse proves all of them wrong. He proves Cas wrong by never doing what he was foretold to do, and he proves Sam and Dean wrong about the inescapability of hunting by flying off to Australia never to be seen again.

In my universe, Earth-18104, the X-Men had three schools in different times, the Xavier Mansion changed names every time a new "era" started, according to the story and the events of that time.

The story of the Xavier Institute is based in the comics and influenced by other events of this universe, that are based in other medias like the movies and comics, and don't follow the time-line of the comics in a precise way, because I wanted to give this universe a more real feeling of time passing slowly and the characters aging different from each generation.

So... yeah, some characters are older or younger than they are in the comics.

Here are some of the students that were enrolled in each school. And here the list of other groups of young superheroes.

• Xavier Institute for Gifted Young People (1972 - 1999)

The first school, of course, when Xavier still had to keep his and his students' identities a secret. People believed it was just a private school, even thought it had only a very few students, at first.

The first students were the original X-Men of 1972, trained by Xavier, Magneto, Mystique, Mastermind, Moira MacTaggert and Destiny (based on the movie X-Men First Class):

The people turned to dust in this break of time didn't aged.

After these events, the Xavier Institute changed names again. Xavier, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Hank McCoy, Logan and Scott Summers were the ones in charge.

The mansion was had more of a structure to resemble a real school, and even had a student body, more classes, etc.

After this, the Xavier Institute was destroyed and the Graymalkin Lane was left empty until 2018. In 2017, with the return of Hope Summers, a new group of X-Men was formed in Utopia, the Lights, though they did not resided at the Institute.

In 2018, Wolverine went back to Westchester and rebuilt the mansion, trying to give the place the feeling of real school. The students also could only start training when they were in 9° grade and could train to be X-Men and join teams (like in Academy X) after they were in 10° grade.

He made a deal with the Shi'ar to have technology to protect the school, as long he accepted the son of Gladiator, asked to be Quentin's guardian and they had a clone of Krakoa as they grounds.

A few old students joined the school in the first year, and a few only in the second and third year. The school opened in August of 2018.

Clint has been around the block, been around a lot of different team, and eras. He knows a lot of people. So I will say that the most obvious favorites of Clint's will in fact be his first, the originals and kind of the people who made him. A lot of his favorites tend to start off on the wrong foot with Clint.

All of that, and it is hard for Clint to divorce his personal feelings. His favorites as the originals, his favorites are his best friends; but this is a guy wwho actually has a lot of love for a lot of people, who he wants to be on a team where cohension is, where they work out and can sit by the pool together, go out for a bite together. If a teammate can be a friend, they are his favorite, for that reason.

His favorites, I would say, are people he would absolutely want to be around outside of "work" / "superheroing" // clint's favorite's list is long, and think of this. if he had to tap the absolute best for a team. these are his candidates. also natasha, bobbi, and jess are this list but his deep romantic entanglement is why they aren't listed.

Tony Stark // he wouldn't be where he is without Iron Man, by that extension without Tony. Sure, Clint may have naively tried to be a hero, because he wa jealous and in awe of the fame of Iron Man, but Tony's the first to vouch for Clint. Despite all their differences and times they are at odds, Tony's a man he deeply aspects and admires. If he and Tony can be on the same team, it's a good day. (legitmately top of the top for clint)

Steve Rogers // another man who made him who is he is today; there is so much love and respect for this man. Clint's distraught that it affects his personal relationship with Natasha when Steve quits the Avengers. One of the best fighting partners Clint has ever had andd will ever have is Steve; with how Steve worked him, trained him. They fight in sync so well, and again, Steve's one of his favorites to get a rise out of too. (legitmately top of the top for clint)

Hank // that's another very old teammate of clint's; that's another one (like steve actually) that Clint did not start off on the right foot with. It took them a long tim, but its pretty clear that by the time of Hank's death in canon. Clint's obviously regarded Hank as one of the best, and help such a love, respect, admiration for the man, despite everything, and has an almost unwavering faith in.

Wanda Maximoff // absolutely influenced by his crush on her, but simply she is his friend. they go way back with each other. no matter what they've been through, despite the actual pain, of them literally killing the other (house of m; it was a thing); she's still his frind, a good teammate to have to back you up.

Greer Nelson // another big player, now from his west coast ddays, that absolutely is someone who if you look at the text; she had been one who he has fought fiercely for. Its anothre example of someone who made him, this time made him while he was leading, he's taking a shot on her, he believed so much in her after Greer had left the Avengers after beeing on the team for like only a couple of months or less, because she didn't believe in herself. Starting this West Coast branch? When he was looking for members and not coming up with many. That's a big leap to take on someone, when her history is quitting due to confidence issues; that means that Clint did see she had what it takes.

Melissa Gold // from his Thunderbolts era and a little more some; she is the stand out among the rest (now that may in part be due to marvel comics and writers) but she is by far someone that Clint would vouch for (even with all the double/triple crossing with AIM stuff and how she hurt him; which the amount she did tells you a lot. favorites hurt most when they betray you). He's someone he came to trust, to admire, and felt so proud of to watch her grow, watch her redeem herself from her past and make something of her life.

Kate Bishop // I mean, duh, does this have to be said. She is top of the top of the top. She's his first mentee that he took on personally, one on one, and I mean this girl gets vouched for, by, Captain Amereica, by Steve who was Clint's final and best mentor. She is evereything, his favorite that he can say full-stop. ( legimately top of the top for clint / number one )

Now for least favorites; that's hard because with Clint? He's a prickly pear, a cactus to deal with at first. A lot of his frienshipss, working relaitonships, and dynamic start off as hostile or rivals or rubbing each other the wrong way. I mean Clint does not like a lot of people at first (literally so many people are like this for him)

I’m not going to claim to be The authority on Bobbi or anything (that would be @ootcs, who probably has an infinitely better list), I started doing a chronological completionist read of Bobbi’s 616 appearances a while back that I need to get back to, but she’s super fun even in the 70s when she’s stuck in some boring Ka-Zar comics.

The unfortunate thing about Bobbi is that she only has the one solo run (which has problems despite the fact that the first few issues are solid), and a lot of her stories are tied to Clint. Part of why I'm always complaining about Bobbi being excluded from modern comics is because we've already lost so much time with her; she was dead for 15 years of publication time.

(I told myself I was going to make a neat little list but I can't stop myself from making my little comments on everything.)

New Avengers: The Reunion, Hawkeye & Mockingbird, Widowmaker: These three series were all made by the same creative team, McCann/Lopez, and they were also my first introduction to comics altogether. They're very focused on her and Clint's 616 history, but I don't remember having any problems understanding it? Bobbi is dealing with a lot of trauma here, but she starts up her own spy agency and her costume is perfect. Also Lopez draws the buffest Bobbi, which is wild because this is all before she gets the supersoldier serum. They also have a D-story in a one-shot called Enter the Heroic Age, that is like peak Clint/Bobbi battle couple dynamics. (I'm listing these first because it was my entry point but everything after this is chronological).

Hawkeye vol.1: this is secretly Bobbi's solo. I love her here and I love Gruenwald's decision to bring her into Clint's life. She's fun and impulsive in her own way and just an all-around proactive character, whether that's taking down this sketchy security firm or macking on Clint ten minutes after her apartment exploded.

West Coast Avengers vol. 1: I love Bobbi's dynamic on teams, I wish we saw more of it in modern comics. Sure, Clint's the official leader but Bobbi truly understands how to actually support the members of the team off the field. Love whenever she and Greer are together. It’s four issues and it’s just good plain superhero fun. We’re getting the gang together! Whacky disguises and hijinks abound! The literal second line on the first page is Bobbi making cunnilingus innuendo!

West Coast Avengers vol. 2: So the first 30 or so issues are pretty similar to that first mini, then...Well, I'd have to devote like 1000+ words to parsing my thoughts on everything else, but suffice it to say I'm a fan of what Bobbi did and you should stop reading around #37 if you don't want to see all of the shit that Clint puts her through. Then the comic gets progressively worse until she dies (though there are a few issues where she and Greer form a splinter team with Marc, those are fun).

New Avengers (2010): Yeah it's Bendis but Bobbi's back! Can't remember which issue it is that introduces her.

Unstoppable Wasp: We get more of a focus on Bobbi as a biologist and we get to see her as a mentor. Her dynamic with Jan is fun <3

Honestly, I'm still missing a ton of her modern stuff because I just haven't read many modern comics in general. I read anything with her in it as it comes out but I still need to go back and read a lot of 2012-2020 stuff. I need to finish Silk (2016) still, but she's good in what I've read. Secret Empire is a terrible event but she has a pretty decent role in that and gets to interact with characters she rarely gets to be around, like Hercules, which is a nice change of pace.
