maybe a concept for a Mistystar x Firestar au?
A Lore Ask? Ohohohoho yes please!
So to start, Thistleclaw figures out who the real father of Misty Stone and Moss is, and tries to start an interclan war over it, basically going hey you wet furbrains we have Riverclan kits nyeeehhhh. However Hailstar and Sunstar see through this and come to an agreement that pleases their warriors - after being weaned, the kittens go to Riverclan to be raised there, but Bluefur may visit them on occasion. The two clans become very close this way. When Rusty shows up, it’s to an elderly Sunstar and his deputy Bluefur, with her loyal ex apprentice Tigerfur. Thistleclaw disapproves but Sunstar welcomes the new apprentice, naming him Dawnpaw for his pale orange coat, and apprenticing him off to Bluefur. Redtail and Ravenpaw come back to camp, reporting that someone with Thunderclan scent has been mucking about Riverclan’s side of the border AGAIN, this time stealing and desecrating prey.
The next time Bluefur goes to visit her kits, now all warriors, she brings Dawnpaw, who is as respectful as possible - which Mistyfoot approves of. Crookedstar and Oakheart chit chat with Bluefur while Mistyfoot, Stonefur, and Mossback steal her apprentice for a swimming lesson. Dawnpaw comes back with a fat fish he offers to Crookedstar as a token of friendship. Leopardfur does not approve of the interclan friendships.
Some time later Sunstar passes in his sleep, and Bluestar rises. Crookedstar passes from illness and Leopardstar starts cracking down on the visits. Silverstream survives her kitting in Riverclan camp and refuses to name the father, but little Stormkit looks just like Graystripe. Dawnpaw, becoming Dawnheart, sneaks across to figure out what’s going on - Mistyfoot tells him that Leopardstar has been meeting a gray cat, but has little other details. Yellowfang is found, and Dawnheart is suspicious, a gray cat? In this camp? Brokenstar attacks camp and deputy Redtail is killed saving the kits and his sister, leaving his daughter Sandstorm and her maybe mate Raventail to mourn and Lionheart as deputy. Windclan returns triumphant. Yellowfang saves Spottedleaf, and when Brokenstar returns she blinds him. Thistleclaw tries to kill Bluestar and is stopped by Tigerfur and Dawnheart. Revealed as the traitor, he leaves in a furious huff. Later, after Brokenstar is poisoned I MEAN dies naturally, Thistlestar leads Shadowclan, and then joins up with Leopardstar to destroy the clans.
Stonefur is nearly killed fighting Darkstripe, who is a kit-poisoning terror, and Blackfoot, but Blackfoot sees the cats coming to save the half-clan cats, and throws the match, allowing Mistyfoot, Stonefur, Mossback, Silverstream, Featherkit, and Stormkit to escape, with Oakheart covering them, leading to his death. Lionheart steps down as deputy, and recommends Dawnheart, who recently finished training Cinderleg. Brightpaw and Swiftpaw live through the dogs, just barely. Mistyfoot and Dawnheart have a “secret” romance. The dogs throw themselves and Bluestar off the cliff, and she passes away. Dawnstar names loyal Whitestorm as deputy. Leopardstar refuses to back down, and is overthrown by the returning warriors, leading to her fleeing to Shadowclan. Scourge, attacked as a kit by Thistleclaw, kills Thistlestar and declares war. Leopardstar dies redeeming herself, saving Whitestorm. Dawnstar does not slay Scourge, but his rising drives off Bloodclan. Mistyfoot is chosen by Riverstar himself to lead Riverclan. Mistystar gives birth to five kits - Reedkit, Bluekit, Primrosekit, Pikekit, and Emberkit, and returns the rule of visiting cross-clan kits. Blackstar and Tallstar adopt this, and more kits grace the clans. When the Journey happens, Squirrelpaw, daughter of Sandstorm and Raventail, makes friends with Pikeface, leading to another romance.
I hope you like this AU!

RavenFire Royalty Families
For the sake if this AU, the family tree and certain character's ages have been shifted around.
Blood Kingdom royalty is the easiest to explain because it is also the smallest.
The king is Scourge who is unmarried and has no children of his own. His younger sister is Nutmeg who is the acting queen beside her brother. Nutmeg has a little fling with some rogue adventurer named Jake and had her two children Pepper(Princess) and Rusty. Pepper is married to Oliver and is expecting his children.
Hopefully that makes sense.
Thunder Kingdom is a bit more complicated.
The current reigning ruler is Queen Bluefur alongside her husband Oakheart. They have their three children and heirs to the throne, Mistyfoot, Mosstail and Stonefur. These three also have a small claim to River Kingdom's succession because their uncle King Crookedjaw has only one heir and River Kingdom's royal family is pretty skimpy besides them.
Mistyfoot is married to Blackclaw with their three living children Reedwhisker, Pikedapple and Primrosefoot. Stonefur is married to Brindleface with their two children Ashfur and Ferncloud. Mosstail is unmarried.
Bluefur's sister Snowfang(Snowfur) married Thistleclaw and had her two sons Whitestorm and Darkstripe. Whitestorm married Willowpelt and had their oldest son Graystripe before having three more children, Sorreltail, Sootfur and Rainwhisker. Darkstripe is married to Robinwing with their two sons Ravenwing(Ravenpaw) and Dustpelt.
Bluefur and Snowfang are the step-daughters of Sunfall who married Moonflower after her divorce to her previous husband Stormtail. Sunfall and Moonflower did end up having two children, Lionheart and Goldenflower who do have some claim to the throne, but Bluefur was made leader since she was the oldest and most experienced despite having no blood relations to Sunfall.
Lionheart married Patchpelt and has one son, Swiftfoot(Swiftpaw), with the help of Goldenflower as a surrogate. Goldenflower is married to Tigerclaw and has two children with him, Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt.
Tigerclaw should have been in line for the throne but King Pineheart stepped down as ruler due to personal reasons and gave the title and position to his distant cousin Sunfall. Because Pineheart stepped down, his lineage was pushed way further back in the successions, Sunfall's lineage taking priority.
I know this technically makes Tigerclaw and Goldenflower distantly related but they are the only couple in this entire AU like this. Still better than some of the actual canon couples but I understand if this one is a little(or very) uncomfortable for some people.
Bonus other kingdoms for anyone interested. They aren't important to this AU but I did think the out at least a little bit.
Shadow Kingdom's leader is King Brokentail who is married to Tangleburr. Their children and heirs are Brownclaw(Brownpaw), Webfoot and Littlecloud.
Wind Kingdom's leader is king Talltail who is unmarried and without children. The heirs are his younger half siblings Wrenflight, Rabbitear, Bristlebark and Flytail. Wrenflight is married to Stageleap and they have two children, Onewhisker and Morningflower. Flytail is married to Sorrelshine and they have one daughter, Whitetail.
(No Onewhisker X Whitetail in this AU because they're cousins)
River Kingdom's leader is king Crookedjaw who is a widower with his only surviving child and heir, Silverstream.
I don't really know enough about SkyClan to fully make any sort of decision on leaderships for Sky Kingdom but all I'm gonna say is that Leafdapple(Leafstar) is the heir to the throne.

Alright
Crookedstar x Bluestar + Thrushpelt x Willowbreeze + Oakheart x Rosetail
Crookedjaw is mates with Bluefur, Thrushpelt is mates with Willowbreeze. They all pretend to be mates in their separate clans to avoid suspicion. And it fucking works.
Willowbreeze and Graypool are basically the same character here. ThrushWillow have kits but they die very early. Around the same time Bluefur has Crookedstar's kits. She realizes she cant keep them or else Thistleclaw is going to take over. Thrushpelt is the one who suggests taking them to Riverclan because he knows his mate would care for them. Later in life, ThrushWillow has a single kit, Silverstream.
ALL THE WHILE-- Oakheart and Rosetail have been mates this entire time in the background and she keeps their kits, Redtail and Spottedleaf, in Thunderclan. Bc I love the Father-Son Angst of Red and Oak as deputies being forced to fight at sunningrocks while Redtail has no idea they're related. Yay!
I think I just created the funniest warrior cat polycule with my rarepairs
#I mostly just thought this was funny but unironically Oakheart being Redtail's father is a hc i really enjoy now...#rb#txt

Super random pairing but Bluestar x Tallstar maybe? Maybe Tall x Blue x Crooked? Headcanons or hypokits are cool whichever you feel like!
Mmm interesting…
In this AU, Oakheart and Bluefur never happen, and between becoming Bluestar and Rusty showing up, Bluestar REALLY wanted kits - to the point her leadership starts to suffer. After a gathering, Tallstar takes her aside - is there anything I can do to help? And Bluestar just spills her broken heart out to her fellow leader. Tallstar listens, and his heart aches - and an offer is made. Tallstar wants no mate, but to help a heartbroken queen? He will offer. The pair remain close friends, and Thunderclan never asks who fathered the litter - some assume a loner. The pair are aware of their father, and chat with him at gatherings if possible. Rainbreeze mentors Firepaw, and Heatherfur takes over Ravenpaw’s training. This leads to Tigerclaw being banished much sooner. On her deathbed, killed fighting Bloodclan, Bluestar passes her leadership to Whitestorm. Tallstar joins her after the great Journey.

When asked the question, “what is your favorite canon warriors pairing?” A lot of answers will probably come up, however if you specify that the pair must be forbidden, the options narrow down. A pairing that most fans mention is Bluestar X Oakheart. So, you can understand my excitement when I started to read Bluestar’s Prophecy. Finally I could figure out the hype behind this pair. I could experience the heartfelt moments, the heartbreak and the romance that makes this couple great. I could lament about how much I like this ship and cite evidence for it. But… um… why is this couple popular again?
Before I get into my own opinion, I will lay out the facts. Spoilers for most of the first arc and Bluestar’s Prophecy ahead. Bluestar was Thunderclan’s leader who served prior to Firestar. Her parents were Stormtail & Moonflower and her sister was Snowfur. This makes Whitestorm her nephew as his mother was Snowfur. Bluestar lost her mother Moonflower at a young age to battle and her father was absent throughout her life. In her apprenticeship, she was deeply troubled by Moonflower’s death and felt hopeless. Her mentor, Sunfall who later becomes Sunstar, saw this behavior and tried his best to help her through it. Bluepaw became a warrior alongside her sister and earned the name Bluefur. During her warrior years, her sister Snowfur fell for the angry bitter tom Thistleclaw, which Bluefur didn’t understand. Her sister ends up having Whitestorm shortly after becoming a warrior. After an argument, Snowfur runs out into the thunderpath to chase some Shadowclan cats and a monster hits her, she dies. Bluefur is beyond devastated. Later on, Bluefur begins to meet with Oakheart and eventually bears his kits. She gives birth to Stonefur, Mistystar & Mosskit but gives them up to become Thunderclan’s leader. On the journey to Riverclan, Mosskit dies from the cold and Bluefur gives her kits to Oakheart to raise in Riverclan. Bluefur then becomes deputy to Sunstar and takes over as leader after his death. She has several deputies in her life but most die. She eventually looses her last life in A Dangerous Path after throwing herself over the edge of a gorge to drown the dogs threatening Thunderclan. Now let’s talk about Oakheart. Oakheart was the prior Riverclan deputy to Leopardfur aka Leopardstar. His parents were Shellheart, the former deputy and Rainflower. This makes Crookedstar his brother. Throughout his life, Oakheart was supportive of Crookedstar, loving him despite his injuries. He felt bad about Rainflower favoring him and wanted Crookedstar to be a warrior alongside him. As an apprentice, Oakpaw trained under his father and unfortunately became a warrior without his brother. Oakheart then meets Bluefur, falls for her and she ends up having his kits. When Bluefur gives them up, Oakheart takes them in to Riverclan to be raised as his children. In the prologue of Into the Wild, Oakheart is killed in a battle over Sunningrocks, being crushed by falling rocks. Tigerclaw, after murdering the Thunderclan deputy Redtail, used Oakheart’s death as a means to cover up his crimes. Oakheart is seen guiding Bluestar to Starclan after her death and he appears at Mistystar’s nine lives ceremony.
Now that we know (or somewhat know) the parties involved, I can state my opinion. Honestly, I’m really sorry, I really tried to understand this ship. I went into Bluestar’s Prophecy with an open mind. I really wanted to see why this ship is so well liked but I cant. Oakheart & BlueFUR (at the time) only spend a total of what.. 3 times together? Oakheart is mentioned to her once at a gathering, she then goes several chapters without him and then she meets him formerly at the border. Then all of a sudden she’s all about him, thinking about him, the whole sha bang. They meet at fourtrees to spend the night together and she becomes pregnant. The last time she talks to him is when she gives her kits away to become Thunderclan’s leader, that’s it. She sees him again when she dies but by then he’s already in Starclan. Bluestar doesn’t even bat an eye when she’s told that he died at sunningrocks, having supposedly murdered her deputy. I understand they were not supposed to be together but she at least cared about him, you’d think she would be shocked or upset or something but nothing.. I honestly believe this ship was an after thought for the Erins, Bluefur just needed a reason to have kits to give up. I feel as though Bluestar’s life was tragic enough. She didn’t need to ALSO loose her children along with the other deaths she suffered. What’s strange to me is why did they even have Bluefur have kits? Bluefur expresses time and again that she doesn’t want to be a mother in her super edition and she only has kits because of an accident. What does this say about their relationships? Oakheart felt more like a fling than an actual soulmate. What’s funny to me is Bluefur had much better chemistry with Crookedstar, Rosetail or Leopardfoot than she did Oakheart. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Bluestar had fallen for Crookedstar instead. The whole Mapleshade curse could be extended to Bluestar aswell and it would have really spiced up the story, like when they were both leaders of their respective clans. And this ship isn’t out of the blue, Bluepaw actually interacts with Crookedpaw at a gathering and they seem to get along fairly well. If not Crookedstar, I feel like Rosetail x Bluestar could have been explored. But then again, Bluestar doesn’t react much to Rosetail’s death in Into the Wild despite having supposedly been friends. Even Bluestar x Yellowfang is an interesting ship. Generally speaking, I’m team BlueCrooked.
But me & the rest of the team want to know what YOU think! Do you ship BlueOak? Or are one of the other Bluestar ships more your taste. Do you think the Erins could have put more effort into BlueOak? What kind of plot points could they have done? Leave all your thoughts, opinions and feedback in the comments below. While you are at it, consider leaving a like on the original post on amino. Ok, here's a little challenge for you and the editors; roast for me 10 WC couples of your choice.
This was fun! We each took five with a bonus from the editor, and you can read our complaints after the readmore.
LYNX (editor)
Violetshine X Tree: I'm still trying to get through the latter half of AVOS, so I haven't seen their first time meeting up or them falling in love or anything like that. What makes me rather uncomfortable with this couple is that Tree's old enough to be Violetshine's father. Pebbleshine and Hawkwing were already young lovers, but with the release of Tree's Roots, one can calculate Tree to be born around the same time as Hawkwing. He even meets a heavily pregnant Pebbleshine when he's around fifteen months old. Honestly, if his and Violetshine's dynamic in late AVOS is good enough for a Warriors couple, I'm willing to just headcanon him as at most eight months older than her to make it more palatable. By the way, this has nothing to do with the ages when they meet up. Violet's a year old by Darkest Night and nearly an adult if her sister's warrior assessment is anything to go by.
Clear Sky X Storm: It's been some years since I read DotC, but the love drama in The Sun Trail was pretty stupid. Especially the insta-love thing. Maybe it was an insta-attraction? But this is Warriors and we can't have that, noooooooooo...
Clear Sky X Star Flower: Everyone's gone on with how Clear Sky getting with his son's ex is rather dubious, but what is often neglected is the fact that Star Flower can make choices too! She made the choice to go for her ex's dad which is about as questionable as Clear Sky's choice! My personal headcanon is that she's the kitty equivalent of a gold-digger.
Pebbleshine X Hawkwing: Alright, so you're either of these two nitwits who've recently become a warrior. Your very way of life has been drastically upturned by someone you thought you could trust. You've lost family and friends to your betrayal, and what's worse is you've lost your home. The world you've known for your whole life has been ripped form you and you have to keep ambling forward with the hope that the place you'll finally settle in will be worth all this hardship. The path ahead of you is long, uncertain, and dangerous, and you'll need to have a clear head to have a hope of surviving this season. SOUNDS LIKE THE PERFECT TIME TO BOINK AND START A FAMILY, AM I RIGHT?
Bumblestripe X Dovewing: Pushy, inconsiderate, trademark Nice Guy, from questioning why they haven't had children yet at some random meeting to suggesting they have children at her friend's funeral, everyone's said it already. Bumblestripe is not a good cat for Dovewing. I'm glad she's not with him since that makes her happy. But... Tigerfartstar X Dovewing: Yeah, Dovewing, your taste in toms is awful. This temperamental, arrogant, patronizing shipdit, while not as bad as Bimbostripe over there, is still pretty bad. It's been a long while since I read OotS and I haven't yet read Tigerheart's Shadow, but I probably should to get a refresher on why I hate this couple.
DULLARD
Bristlefrost x Rootspring: So ignoring that Rootspring as a -paw is a whiny, overly defensive putz that acts self-conscious about having Tree as his father, Bristlefrost does not ONCE show interest in him. Not once. Count ‘em, zero times. In fact, she’s aware of his crush on her and is embarrassed whenever he comes around and whenever people notice him staring at her. She actively avoids him and speaks curtly, even rudely, to try and drive him off. Then, out of buttfuck nowhere, she says she has feelings for him once he’s a warrior? When they’ve barely interacted beyond her spurring his affections? Fuck with that?
Crowpaw x Feathertail: Feathertail, you’re a nice girl. You’re team mom and almost a second in command to Brambleclaw. Everyone likes you. So why in the good god damn fuck does a pissant like Crowpaw (an apprentice at the time, by the way) deserve your recognition, let alone your love? You could get literally any other cat you wanted to, and you go for the fruit that was formerly hanging the lowest, but dropped off the tree and is now rotting on the floor. He is nothing but a dick to you and only starts being remotely kind two seconds before you die. Please love yourself and do better in StarClan.
Bluefur x Oakheart: Speaking of low hanging fruit, this is a very, very easy one to dunk on. It’s moreso the fact that this entire “relationship” is treated as one of the great tragic romances in this series than anything else. The two of them talk, what, two or three times? And then have exactly one night together before Bluefur kills one of their kits and shoves the other two on him and then that’s it. That’s all they had. A one night stand and child death. What a love story. Why does Bluefur think Thrushpelt is the worse option, again?
Dustpelt x Fernpaw: GOD, this relationship is creepy. I still get simultaneously unnerved and mad whenever I read the first arc, because Dustpelt initially seems like he’ll go with Sandstorm before she stupidly falls in love with Fireheart, but then he sets his sights on someone so much younger than him that he actually asks if he can mentor her instead of his original apprentice (her brother, fun fact). Let me emphasize that, because he is actively seeking a power imbalance in this relationship, and he clearly intends to eventually get with her. Bear in mind that she is still being treated like she’s a young kid, if not a teenager, by the narrative. I could be here all day on this fucking topic, but let’s move on.
Berrynose x Poppyfrost: We all know what I’m going to say here. Berrynose having the brass to say loving things to a dying, agonizing Honeyfern after she spent all this time pining after him, and then less than two months later, he shacks up with her sister. That is the coldest thing he could possibly have done to her. The fact that the writers decided that she’s totally okay with the relationship and takes care of her sister’s dead kits like they’re hers is extra terrible. Like, she still gets the scraps when she’s dead? Seriously?

Well, if we are allowed to ask for your thoughts... what are some of your favourite warrior ships, and what are your thoughts on the canon warrior ships? Not like, all of them, but those you are willing to discuss.
I think that for most of them, the canon ships are the best that we could come up with. Not as in they are the model on which I want to shape my own relationships, but narratively...
Leafpool x Crowfeather? Not very healthy sure, and doomed. But the Drama. the DRAMA.
See next to it Mothpool? Big age difference, both females so there can be no half-clan kits coming out of it, goes into the cliché that Mothwing is just "the lesbian medicine cat" when I think her arc is way more powerful when she keeps the vows she made to cats she doesn't believe in.
Then you’ve got Squirrelflight x Crowfeather, Feathertail x Crowfeather...? Little bit of drama, but half clan relationships have been seen before. The drama from Leafpool and Crowfeather comes from the fact two codes are broken and that Leafpool’s got basically no choice except to pull more and more people down after her as she tries to save everyone. (Squirrelflight being strung in it, then Brambleclaw by proxy, the Three, all of thunderclan...)
Raggedpelt x Yellowfang? OK they’re clearly toxic (or mainly Ragged is toxic and Yellow doesn’t know how to recognize toxicity and establish boundaries etc). But the sheer drama of having the leader break the warrior code and have kits with hismedicine cat??? Finger lickin’. Plus obviously the Oedipean dimension of Brokenstar killing his father and exiling (PG rated) his mother without knowing they are his parents? Great!
Then there are some I hate wholeheartedly, but as a whole I tend to like... ignore the canon ships I don’t like, and not imagine any non-canon ships. Like I’m not shipping Heathertail x Breezepelt, but that doesn’t mean I’m shipping them with anyone else. I don’t like Jayfeather x Half Moon but idem. The only exceptions (but maybe it will become true) are low-key shipping Rootspring and Bristlefrost, but I’m at the end of Lost Stars so don’t know if it will change, and it’s only because the ice-broke-female-dove-to-save-male is very reminiscent of GraySilver, and again low-key shipping Leopardfur and Stonefur if the whole Tigerclan situation hadn’t arisen, but shipping inside aus don’t count.
My favorite canon ships are:
(not ideal but living for the drama:) Basically Clear Sky with just about every canon mate. The guy has a very interesting social life, if not a very moral one. Leafpool x Crowfeather is interesting. Bluefur x Oakheart I don’t like them but the whole idea of her having to give up her kits etc is great. Mistyfoot and Blackclaw omg it’s a mess. Shellheart x Rainflower by jove!
(love them because they just love each other so much or have other compelling narratives while not being bad for each other:) Firestar x Sandstorm, Cloudtail x Brightheart, Brackenfur x Sorreltail, Lionblaze x Cinderheart, Finleap x Twigbranch, Jagged Peak x Holly, Cloudstar x Birdflight.
(haven’t seen much content about them but headcannons hard on them:) Frostfur x Lionheart, Deadfoot x Ashfoot.
Canon ships that are not presented as unhealthy/problematic/unhappy but i just don’t like them: Blossomfall x Thornclaw, Barley x Ravenpaw, Ivypool x Fernsong.
