On this day in 1993, Eazy-E protégés Blood of Abraham, a Jewish hip hop group, released their debut album ‘Future Profits’.

The album gained publicity from ads centered on large text proclaiming “Jesus was a Black Jew”.

Blood of Abraham was sighed to Ruthless Records, a record label founded by N.W.A. member Eric “Eazy-E” Wright. The group composed of members Benjamin “MC Benyad” Mor and David “MC Mazik” Saevitz.

They gained a minor following that eventually led them to wider exposure through a television appearance on ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’ in 1994.

A key characteristic of the group was their unapologetic Jewish identity. Their best-known track, "N*ggaz and Jewz (Some Say K*kes)", was a call for Black and Jewish unity. The song featured a verse from Eazy-E, as well as the first recorded appearance of will.i.am, known at the time as Will 1X.

Will’s association with the group likely lead to him chanting the Hebrew phrases “mozel tov” and “l’chaim” throughout the Black Eyed Peas song “I Gotta Feeling”, the highest selling digital single in the United States. It also likely explains why Mor directed the video for the song.

Although Blood of Abraham has been on hiatus since 2000, the members have continued working in entertainment. Notably, Mor directed music videos for Beyoncé and Coldplay (“Hymn for the Weekend”), will.i.am (“Scream & Shout” with Britney Spears & “That Power” with Justin Bieber), Katy Perry (“Part of Me”), Tinashe (“All Hands On Deck”), Black Eyed Peas (“I Gotta Feeling”), Nas (“Just a Moment” with Quan), and the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup— “We Are One (Ole Ola)” by Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and Claudia Leitte.

[Sonic and Rouge enter GUN, each with one of Shadow’s arms over their shoulders to help him walk, as his left leg has a gash haphazardly wrapped with a piece of cloth. They help him sit on a nearby armchair. Abraham comes out of his office and sees the scene.] Abraham: What is going on here? Sonic: That’s what I’d like to know. People see a coworker bleeding out and nobody moves??? Someone get a paramedic or something. Shadow: No, no, it'll heal on his own. Sonic: But— Abraham: And in the mean time, you’re getting blood everywhere! Shadow: I apologize. Sonic: Apologize? Is everybody crazy in here??? Abraham, let someone take a look at him. Shadow: No, it's fine. I heal on my own, it just needs time. Rouge: He doesn’t like doctors. Sonic: And I don’t like my friends bleeding out. [to Abraham]: Get me some gauze or a proper bandage, at least, please. Abraham: That’s for my agents, and he’s made it clear he doesn’t want to be one. Sonic: Funny, because for someone who isn’t one, he sure tore his leg up in one of your stupid missions. Rouge: That’s on me, I asked for his help. Abraham: And now you bring him here to stain everything with that green stuff that who knows what it could cause. Sonic: I don’t know about my friend’s blood, but I’m about to cause you a black eye that’ll make you forget your own name. [jumps up and walks toward Abraham, making him shrink back]: If you don’t want to interrupt a paramedic’s Pac-Man game, that’s on you, but you are going to give me what I need to patch him up myself. Or does that bother you too?! [shoves him out of the room]: And don’t worry, I’ll pay you in coins for whatever your stupid gauze costs! You’re gonna be the richest man in the graveyard, you bastard! Rouge: Oof. He got heated… Hon, either you ask him out already or I’ll do it for you. Shadow [nudges her lightly without looking at her]

Mina, in hypno-mode, Dracula's consciousness and voice overlapping hers: "This is the way." Van Helsing: "How know you it?" I ask. Mina-Dracula, smug as hell: "Of course I know it," she answer, and with a pause, add: "Have not my Jonathan travelled it and wrote of his travel?"

So I have reached to the part of the novel (October 29) where Mina is suddenly feeling free and asking to be involved again and Van Helsing is sneakily putting her to the test to see if she's being puppeteered and if she still has a pulse:

"Oh, my dear, I see that your eyes are opened, and that to you the lightning flash show all the leagues,” for Mrs. Harker began to clap her hands and her eyes sparkled. He went on:—“Now you shall speak. Tell us two dry men of science what you see with those so bright eyes.” He took her hand and held it whilst she spoke. His finger and thumb closed on her pulse, as I thought instinctively and unconsciously, as she spoke:— [Mina enthusiastically monologuing about Dracula's battle tactics] “Good, good! oh, you so clever lady!” said Van Helsing, enthusiastically, as he stooped and kissed her hand. A moment later he said to me, as calmly as though we had been having a sick-room consultation:— “Seventy-two only; and in all this excitement.” 

So that hit me... Mina's heartbeat has been slowing down, now to the point where her heartbeat in excitement is only 72bpm. Which means that her resting heart rate has by now gotten unnaturally slow, in the process of slowing down to a stop. And now I can't help but think of the Harkers those days, lying in bed, Jonathan's head on her chest. Listening to her once young strong heart struggling to beat... wondering if he'll wake up with it silent. And her still stroking his head...
