I have hit my goal of 100 books read in 2025 with almost 5 months left, which is pretty neat. Might just try for 150 now for the heck of it. I also have a secondary goal of reading at least 10 books actually from 2025 so's I can make a top ten of the year from the year, which I'm at like 6 or 7?

I feel like we need to talk more about how fucking boring depression can be. I pick up a book and can’t read more than a few sentences, a chapter if I’m lucky, before I can’t focus. I knit two rows of something and then can’t continue. I scroll through all the different options of shows I haven’t watched without clicking on any of them. I hop from app to app looking for content that will spark literally any single emotion. It’s not even 10am and I already feel like I’m just waiting until it’s time to go back to bed.

OK I'M SOLD I'M INVESTED.

It's starting to lay some interesting seeds. The fact that our deuteragonist was an evil war goddess who was defeated in eons past to protect the world, that our entire plot is undoing the punishment she received, that shenguai/demons and human are both harming each other, they all lay the groundwork for a potentially interesting morally grey conflict. I just hope it has the guts to actually pursue that rather than just sprinkling it in as a teaser of a better story hidden under the actual story
