A/N: I am unashamed to admit that suits are fucking hot and the shit they do to me is what I imagine straight men feel when they see a VS model in lingerie. And Steven is hot. So is Marc. And Jake and Oscar in general you get the rest. Imagine the Mrs Knight suit looks something like this. (Also featuring the headcanons by @my-secret-shame-but-fanfiction for Jake's craftiness!)

🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒
It had been a banger of a night. A fun Halloween bash at the museum, amazing costumes, great food. Donna even seemed to be in a decent mood. But of course that woman could have been faking it.
You and Steven decided to go with matching costumes. In a gross abuse of Steven, Marc, and Jake's status as Moon Knight, you'd convinced him to use his "Mr Knight" suit as his costume.
Jake helped you make yours to match. Finding the majority was easy enough at thrift stores (despite Marc's insistence that you should buy a new one), the mask was what was the pain.
That's where Jake's expertise came in. Sure his main skill was in knitting, but that didn't mean the man wasn't nuanced in other ways to make clothes. You couldn't count how many times Jake would stitch up the seams of your favorite jacket that you just refused to throw away, or how many times he'd hit you with that smug smile when you blubbered about how awesome he was for giving extra life into your jacket so you could wear it juuuust a bit longer.
Your mask turned out to be almost a perfect replica of his, complete with glowing lenses to match Steven.
You were nervous when you got dressed, looking in your floor-length mirror at your reflection.
Your hair was pinned back neatly to allow you to pull the mask on or off (because unlike Steven's, which was magically suited--pun intended--to be comfortable) without much problem, and you would still appear "flawless" as Steven put it.
But right now, you were having second thoughts. You weren't sure you liked how the skirt fit you. Or the blazer.
The waistband of the skirt squeezed your waist and the rolls of your tummy, the creases in the fabric seemingly emphasizing every imperfection you saw in yourself.
Your transparent white stockings were not helpful either, the bands squished the fat of your thighs in a way that made them look like muffins, even moreso than your tummy. They kept rolling down so much you had to buy garters to wear beneath your skirt just so they'd stay up...
You frowned at your reflection as the skirt rode up your legs, showing off the cute lace trim of the stockings and your squishy thighs; honestly if you weren't careful, or you bent over the skirt would bare your ass to the whole party.
You were tempted to go and grab that last minute shitty vampire costume you had stashed away, when Steven walked in, already dressed immaculately in that gorgeous white suit of his.
He adjusted the tie, not looking at you as he does so.
"Hey, luv, I'm fairly ready. I can help you with your makeup now, if..." His eyebrows shoot up and his mouth feels suddenly very dry at the sight of you all dressed up.
His tongue darts out to swipe at his bottom lip, moistening it as he clears his throat.
"You look good."
"Oh.... Thanks." You mumble shyly, trying to pull the edges of the blazer down to cover the rolls poking out of your skirt a bit more.
"Hey, hey, what's wrong, beautiful?" He said softly, moving up to you.
"I... I look like a marshmallow." You sigh hesitantly, your tone full of self-deprecation.
"Hey, now." Steven smiled sweetly, wrapping his arms around your waist as you tucked your face into his lapel.
"You're the most gorgeous marshmallow on the planet if that's the case." He told you, kissing the top of your head.
He felt something press down on him, and he looked up at the mirror, getting a full view of your back, but he saw Marc's face staring back at him with a cringed expression.
(Dude, that was the shittiest compliment ever. What woman wants to hear her being compared to a marshmallow??) He hissed.
Steven was about to retort, before you started bubbling out on laughter at how silly his compliment was.
"That was so corny." You snicker.
Steven gave a smug smirk at Marc before looking down at you with a soft, lovesick smile.
"Yeah, well, you love my sense of humor, eh?" He winked.
"Yeah... I guess I do." You smile back.
"Now, then! Your makeup. Let's sit you down so I can work on it for you!"
Whenever you had your doubts about your appearance, Steven, Marc, or Jake would pipe in and alleviate your worries. Sometimes all three at once, though rapid switching would often cause problems for them (like migraines).
You kept your eyes closed as Steven carefully applied your highlighter to your cheekbones, the brush tickling your skin, his shaky breaths ghosting over your face.
He would mumble some curses when he messed up, but would correct his mistake.
When you had asked him where on earth he learned to contour and highlight he shyly admitted he watched half a dozen tutorials on YouTube to get it perfect for you.
You felt the coldness of the liquid eyeliner as he painted on the wings with the white liner, the silver and gold glitter further adding to your look.
"'Kay luv, open your eyes so I can apply your mascara." He murmured, looking down in your makeup kit for the said cosmetic.
Once he did, he pulled out the black tube and made sure there was no excess before he carefully combed the white creamy substance on your eyelashes, lightening them up to enhance the face he'd helped apply for you.
Once he was finished with both eyes, he leaned back and allowed you to blink, smiling that puppy dog smile of his in satisfaction at his handiwork before placing the mascara tube back in the kit.
He lifted his hand and shook the bottle of setting spray so you wouldn't accidentally sweat it off or wipe it off with something during the night (or god forbid it rub off on the inside of your mask).
"Close em again for me."
You couldn't help but smile at his level of gentleness and politeness.
You restrained from physically recoiling as the cold setting spray hit your skin and quickly dried.
"Now, do you want to put on lipstick now or when we get to the party?" He asked as he watched your sickeningly gorgeous lashes flutter open. All the white, silver, and hints of gold on your face enhanced your eyes and their color, the very depths of them stealing his breath away.
"We can do it now. I have liquid matte and regular lipstick." You reply, smiling once again.
"Which would you prefer?" Steven asked you.
"Whichever you think would look best."
He sucked in a breath that his lungs were suddenly starving for, and grabbed the liquid tube.
His hand gently cupped your chin as he brushed the satiny lipstick onto your lips, carefully lining them so it wasn't too much. He'd even dipped his finger in your cosmetic glitter and applied a very gentle amount.
"Gorgeous." He breathed.
"Aww..." You giggle, thankful for the glitter and makeup that hid your blush at his praise.
"Now then... Let's go, shall we?" He said, taking your hand to help you stand and slip in your white heels.
As the two of you left, Steven could hear Jake in the back of their headspace.
(Que hermosa... Be careful, hermanito. If she bends over, I just might take over for the rest of the night and have that ass for myself.)
🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒
Mr and Mrs Knight. That's what you two went as for the party. You two even won the prize for best couples costume!
Sure it was just a gift card to some restaurant, but it was exhilarating to hear how people adored your matching outfits.
And you couldn't help but notice all night that Steven simply couldn't keep his hands off of you.
He would get like that sometimes; working himself up like that, but trying to be subtle. You knew it was only a matter of time before an awkward boner would be the cause for the two of you to leave early, so you excused yourself to the restroom under an excuse to check and see if your makeup needed retouching or if you could go the rest of the night without your mask.
But you got a little nervous when two women went into the lavatory after you, and you felt trapped within your stall. You simply couldn't stand the glances from other women you were getting all night. You were afraid these two women who were clucking at each other like hens were amongst the ones judging you.
And your fears were confirmed.
"I can't believe that such a handsome guy would pick a blimp to be his girlfriend." One of them scoffed as she applied a fresh layer of brick red lipstick. As if she didn't have enough on already.
You felt your heart sink further inside of you as the other joined in.
"I know, right? It's gotta be her tits, only thing I can imagine. Maybe her ass, too." The other laughed as she touched up the false blood on the corners of her mouth.
"Either that or she gives good enough head that he can overlook the fact that if she ever got on top she could crush him." The first one snickered.
Your hands knotted in the mask you held in your hands, threatening to tear the stitches Jake so lovingly sewed in for you to wear tonight. You bit the inside of your cheek harshly as the two gossiped further.
"Ugh, and the sad thing is, he's cute, for a bookworm who won't shut up." The second sighed.
"Ugh, I know... I can look past the blabbering if I can see what he's packing."
"Right? I wonder if he's as good with his mouth as he is with his stupid history facts." The first giggled.
You gritted your teeth. You couldn't take much more, you knew that. Insulting you, you could take and bottle up to deal with later, probably in the heat and privacy of your shower.
But talking about Steven like he's some kind of... sex toy? No. Hell no. If you were anything, you were insanely protective over your boys. Even bordering on possessive at times (of course the same was true for the boys about you).
You were done.
You slammed the stall door open and sort of enjoyed how startled they seemed when they saw you, their jaws dropping when it hit them that you heard everything.
You hurriedly wash your hands and slip your gloves back on, gripping your mask in your hand tight as you spare them a backwards glance before leaving the lavatory to find Steven.
You felt sick to your stomach and you wanted to go home...
When you found him, his brows knitted upwards in concern at how tight-lipped and tense you were when you gripped his sleeve tight.
"Ey luv, what's wrong?" He murmured to you, leading you away from the crowd.
"I... I just want to go home." You say, the words those women said about your body weighing down on you, and the things they said about Steven burning hot in your gut. You weren't sure what to feel with this cocktail of emotions.
"Hey hey, okay we can leave." He says, kissing you on the forehead.
"Let's go."
🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒
The walk back to your flat was... Difficult. You could barely hold yourself together, suddenly hyper-aware of every roll and stretch mark on your body, even the slight double chin you had when you moved your head a certain way.
It wasn't until you were in the lift of your building that you finally broke down, your reflection staring back at you in the walls of the tiny space, crushing down on you with every imperfection you saw.
You couldn't keep in the bubbling sobs, or the fat tears that rolled down your cheeks and ruined the makeup Steven worked so hard to put on you.
He cradled you against him and cooed to you, saying sweet nothings and whispering nothing but praise for your looks, rubbing your back and kissing your hair.
In the various angles of the reflections, and the oppressive feeling weighing down on Steven... He could see and feel Marc and Jake.
Both looked pissed. Marc almost looked violent.
(If anybody talks like that about our muñeca again...) Jake trailed off.
(Oh trust me, I'll do the honors.) Marc growled.
The walk back into your flat felt horrid. You didn't just cry, you ugly-cried. You ruined your makeup, your hair fell out of the pins, and your skirt rode up more with every rushed step you took to hurry up and get in to get into some baggy clothes that didn't showcase your body.
You didn't feel cute or sexy anymore, you felt... ugly.
And Steven didn't like that one bit. Marc and Jake retreated, knowing that their anger at your injured self-opinion wouldn't help. This kind of situation was a Steven situation. He knew best how to be the sweetest person on the planet with you.
But right now he wasn't feeling particularly sweet. Sure, you were upset. But he couldn't help but get a good look at you as you walked ahead of him, the skirt riding up so much that he could just barely see the black and blue panties you wore beneath, your cheeks peeking out from the edges of the fabric, the garter straps clinging desperately to your stockings in effort to keep them up your gloriously plush thighs to keep them up.
He felt hot beneath the collar, his trousers getting uncomfortably tight as blood flowed straight to his cock.
The moment the door closed behind you, your hands, trembling and rushed, went to unbutton the blazer to get it off of you quicker, sniffles and tiny sobs sneaking out of you in the process.
However, your actions were halted when Steven placed his hands gently on your shoulders from behind, his thumbs rubbing soothing circles through the fabric of your blazer, trying to soothe you.
"Love. You're gorgeous. Beautiful." He breathed, resting his forehead against the back of your head, inhaling the lingering scent of your shampoo.
"Steven, I'm... I'm not." You sniffle. "I'm fat, I can barely squeeze into a pair of jeans, I can't even shop at normal clothing stores for women. I get looks when I wear anything tight, and--and the things I hear people say about me--"
Your voice is broken off when you hiccup, feeling another sobbing fit try to get out of you.
"You don't understand what I'm sayin', luv." Steven smiled into your hair, ever patient.
"You're the prettiest girl in the world to us. You don't need a flat belly, or toned thighs to be pretty. You're funny, you're warm, and you're soft."
You made a shocked squeak when his hands snake around you, his gloved hands gripping at your belly and squeezing the plushness there through your clothes.
Your denial died in your throat when Steven rolled his hips into you, his hard cock throbbing as he rutted into the curve of your ass.
"You wouldn't be able to get to me like this if I didn't find you the most gorgeous woman on the planet. You wouldn't get Jake to say the filthy things he tells you in bed. You wouldn't have Marc snuggling you and resting his head in your lap or on your belly..."
His breathing got heavier as he rocked his hips into you further, a bitten-back whimper dying as he swallowed hard.
"S-Steven--"
"You've been driving me insane all night. This skirt looks so good on you." He says hotly in your ear, his fingers rolling up the hem of your skirt to reveal your panties and garters, making you gasp again.
"Those stockings huggin' you so tight. Been thinking about how badly I want to have my head between your legs, tonight." He growled.
Before you could say anything else, his gloved hand went up to your mouth and he tapped your lips, begging for entrance. Powerless to resist him, you let him press his fingers into your mouth, your tongue wetting them effectively before he pulled them away, and slipped down into your panties
He dragged one of his fingers up your puffy lips, parting your folds before he turned his attention onto your clit.
"S-S-Steven--" You whimper when he starts to circle the little nub.
"Hush, now. Let me show you, eh?" Steven said, biting at your earlobe softly.
You couldn't fight it, you couldn't fight the warm nectar that gushed out from you at his words and affirmations. All your mind could focus on was how wonderfully his fingers toyed with your cunt, deftly rolling, pushing, and pinching your clit in every way he knew that brought you the best pleasure, the fastest.
Your mind practically went blank when he curled two fingers into your weeping hole, the leather around his digits making them thicker than they normally would be, and providing a luxurious texture to your clit as he massaged you with his palm. His mouth trailed down your neck, breath hot on your skin as he bit down and sucked.
It wasn't like when Jake did this to you, no. Every one of them had different methods, different touches...
And Steven was particularly good at balancing out the sweet and the hard, paying more attention to your own pleasure than his. Sometimes, he would get so lost in pleasuring you he'd cum in his pants without even being touched.
This time was no different... in no time at all, he had you cumming so hard you almost fell to the floor, your slick gushing out and soaking the glove.
He smiled sweetly into the skin of your neck as he eased you forward, so you could press your palms on one of his desks, thighs quivering as you recollected yourself.
You barely saw through your haze clearly enough to catch Steven licking his glove clean through the reflection in the mirror on the desktop, his eyes closing in satisfaction at your savory taste.
You half expected him to drop to his knees and eat you out, next, but he doesn't. He just stands there for a moment, staring at you with a lidded and loving gaze, curls falling forward over his forehead as they always do.
That's when your self-consciousness rears its ugly head, and you pinch your legs together, and try to wiggle away from his gaze, to retreat to the safety of the bathroom and escape from his heated staring.
But in a flash, Steven is on you again, his hands gripping at your hips and that's when you feel the hot, heavy weight of his leaking cock slap against the barely clothed flesh of your ass as he rolls your skirt up completely over your hips.
"Steven!" You squeak.
"Hey, now... 'M not done showing you yet." His voice croaks out, heavy and barely coherent as the silk fabric of your panties brushes the head of his dick.
He groans, giving one more roll of his hips against your ass, smearing more precum on the fabric and skin, there; before he gripped the base, lining his cock up to your weeping hole.
"Fuck, luv. So soft. So wet f'me." He said, voice strained from barely contained arousal.
You squirmed, still feeling inadequate despite Steven's words and assurances.
God, you wanted him. You wanted him so badly. But right now you just felt so... so...
Your thoughts cut themselves off when he reached behind him, and from beneath his coat pulled out one of his engraved truncheons.
Placing it in front of you and gripping it with his other hand, pulling you tight against him as he thrust sharply into you, sheathing himself in one whole go, the tip of his cock slamming upwards so suddenly you felt his tip smush your cervix before he eased back.
"B-baby--" You whine, despite yourself.
"Not runnin' away, luv." Steven grunted into your hair as he thrust into you, his hands gripping tightly on the truncheon, using the bar to squeeze against your belly and hold you against him while he fucked you raw.
You couldn't fight the snapping of his hips or his raw need for you, right now. You couldn't hold back the moans and whimpers he wrenched out of you with each punctuation of his hips.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck--" You hear him wheeze as his thrusts get more and more desperate.
There is a metallic clang as he tosses the truncheon to the floor in favor of gripping your thigh and lifting your leg so your knee was on the desktop.
You let Steven guide you so you're practically laying face down on the desk, his cock still spearing you open, pussy fluttering around him at the change in position.
You were taken by surprise when he grips your wrists next, ripping off his tie before slipping it over your hands, before tying them together at the curve of your back. Not tight enough to cut off circulation, but tight enough you couldn't squirm free.
He hesitated a moment. As nice as it would be to watch the soft flesh of your ass bounce and ripple while he fucked you... He didn't want to do it like this.
So, without further hesitation on his part, he gripped you, lifting you off your feet and rolling you so you were laying with your upper half on the desktop, pulling your legs up so your calves rested on his shoulders, all without dislodging from the warm tightness of your cunt.
You whimpered as he does this, and try to wriggle from his tie so you could cover your face, your running makeup and smeared lipstick.
Your pitiful, chubby face--
"Hey, hey..." His voice is soft and shaky as he leans in, cupping your cheek with one hand as your thighs squish against the both of you.
He caresses your soft cheek with a thumb and he smiles.
"Don't hide from me, sweetheart. You're gorgeous and I want to see you."
"Steven, I..." You whimper as your pussy clenches around his shaft, making it twitch inside of your tight, gummy walls.
His eyes rolled back with a groan.
"I'm not gonna stop until you see what I see." He grunts, dragging his cock out slowly until only the tip remains inside of you, the rest of your cunt squeezing desperately around nothing.
You're barely given a moment of respite before he snaps his hips into yours again, fucking you relentlessly and hitting your sweet spot over and over withe every arch of his hips.
Some of Marc's precision was bleeding into him as he aimed the tip of his cock like a weapon against your g-spot, pounding into you hard and fast, stoking the fire in your belly so hotly that you felt the embers scatter throughout your veins, every nerve in your body aflame in pleasure.
His left hand kneads the soft skin of your thigh, squishing and rolling the plush flesh beneath his gloved fingers before he slips his other hand between you, circling your clit mercilessly, making you shriek with every sharp thrust of his hips.
He loved how your body jiggled and bounced with every thrust; how your tits were bouncing so hard that they were spilling out of the top of your bra cups, your blazer falling completely open around you, now.
Despite still being fully clothed, you felt utterly naked beneath his gaze. Fresh tears burned in your eyes as he crammed his cock into you over and over again, his fingers working your second orgasm out of you faster and faster with every swipe of his fingers.
"It's okay, luv." Steven moaned, turning his head to plant a kiss on the inside of your knee, the leg he was squishing in his fingers.
"Cum for me, yeah? Show me how pretty you are." He pants, his thumb pressing hard into your clit.
That was all it took, the friction of his fingers, the thrusts of his hips, and each jab of his cock, plus his words? You were on cloud nine, brain fried and all sense gone as drool dribbled down your chin and you cum with a choked cry, babbling out his name over and over as your body clamps down, gushing around his cock, spraying out and soaking his hand and the front of his suit.
Steven, poor, loveable, goofy Steven could never hold out too long after you came, the squeezing and milking of your pussy was simply too much for him to bear.
Your eyes rolled back and you felt yourself spasm in an aftershock as you felt the hot ropes of his cum painting your walls a milky white, flooding your hungry cunt with everything he had to give you.
He drops your leg, wrapping them around his waist as he leans in and kisses you roughly, his tongue pushing past your lips to twine with yours and steal your recovered breaths.
"See... You're fucking beautiful. Wouldn't do this to us otherwise." He mumbles against your lips.
"Oh... God." You whimper.
Your mind ticks back into sanity and you realize the two of you are still clothed. Your outfit was of course mussed, but Steven was almost completely immaculate. The only thing he was missing of his suit was his tie, and the only sign of mess was the wet stain on his front, and his cock still sheathed inside of you.
"Hmm." He hummed softly, looking down at you with the softest gaze he could fix on you.
Steven gave you a sweet kiss to your forehead before he moved his mouth to the shell of your ear.
"And if you still don't believe me... Jake and Marc want to have a word with you."

I love your animatronic toy OC guys so much, they have so much personality to them and their colours are really good (especially umbra)
Thank you! The funny thing about Umbra's design was that while I was developing it about two years ago and had some colors in mind, I described in text what I already came up with to an image generator for fun (shitty unconvincing old kind, vs now where it looks like shit but in a somewhat more convincing way) and it produced something so silly that I made her design better than what I would've settled with out of spite.
More details of my process and anti-AI ranting below the cut, so the examples given won't show up on search results. Google Images is getting polluted too much with slop to begin with.
Let's begin.
In 2022 I was drafting up Umbra's design with mostly concrete details. At this time image generators were newer and much less convincing, and I was a bit less aware of just how unethical they were, so I fed one a text description of what I had drafted for her design out of curiosity. Something along the lines of, "doll of an anthropomorphic owl librarian in glasses, blazer/suit jacket, skirt, corset, high heels, sitting on a bookshelf" and probably a few more terms. Really specific, lengthy prompt.
I try to be open-minded and give new things a shot, but the results were Not Great. Ideally, I'd want to not share the AI pictures at all on-principle, but I feel like it's useful, transparent, and necessary to show them. Both as a means of not hiding anything, but also just to appreciate where the design is at in spite of it.
Outside of this particular collage of Weird Owls, no other pictures on this blog are AI-generated. AI Image Generation is harmful, and I am against its usage.
But hey, two of the generated pictures look close, right? The top left is the closest, and bottom right is second.
That's because they started out worse, and I had to actually erase chunks of them and have the generator fill in the blanks to get anything remotely close to what I wanted. Misshapen limbs, unrecognizable anatomy, fever-dream clothing details, etc. They didn't even have a corset or proper legs until I slapped the generator in the face enough times to make it produce them. I was just using it to photobash, which was such an annoying process, I just went "this is dumb" and stopped. They're literally posed like that because I kept erasing and regnerating their limbs until they looked vaguely in-character. It literally only looks passable thanks to STRANGLING it with human input.
Before I used the image generator, I already drafted her to be night-themed with yellow eyes and something like purple, dark blue, or sky-blue as her main color; the generator making one owl yellow-eyed and purple was a happy coincidence, and the only thing the generative AI "came up with" that I didn't already have in mind or included in the prompt was the light blue shirt, which I did adapt into her cyan shirt and stockings/socks as well. That was a good call. You get One Point, Mr. AI.
...Which still meant that at its absolute best, it was a largely redundant step in the creative process if its contribution was worse than what a randomized palette generator or character creator could come up with.
That's already putting the ethics of it aside, like carbon emissions, data pollution, using artists' and photographers' work without credit or permission, the incentive to plagiarize, flooding sites like deviantart with slop, Willy Wonka Shit, etc etc etc. When people say "you can use AI as a tool though", this ordeal was enough to convince me that it's more trouble than its worth, even in its most ethical usage. I feel gross for having even tried. I wish I knew what sources went into the creation of those Weird Owls. It'd be better for research if the right people could be credited.
Nothing else on this blog is AI-generated or ever will be. The art below is purely my own (2022 vs a few weeks ago)):
Actually drawing Umbra and solidifying her design was far more rewarding than having an image generator vaguely approximate my own ideas. I wanted her to look really special, so I used a black cape and pants, gold highlights and buttons, and blue undertones to make something more distinct. Also, neck floof. Very important. I wanted the head in particular to look distinct and original, going with bold black streaks to really help her look distinguished.
I also have certain inevitable Hydroisms for Fancy characters like her; most apparent in these designs for Chasey and Kaita from even longer ago, which were more of an influence than anything else. (Old art of mine from like 2021, Kaita ref looks wonky but Chasey still holds up nicely):
Most of Umbra's other design elements were already commonly used with established ocs like Kaita, like her shape language, corset, skirt, heels, etc. It was my previous work with Chasey that inspired the use of gold buttons and highlights.
Umbra is also now a bluer shade of purple partly to distance the current design from that ordeal. All things considered, I'll probably make her more indigo next time. I already wanted her to have a wide color range from the get-go (Featured below is, again, purely my art from 2022:)
I may use a different colored shirt and stockings in the future. I like to think she has many different shirts and clothes based on the different stages of the night sky, from dusk to dawn, and the painting I made in the top right there was an exploration of her range in different lighting.
All in all, it's frustrating. I'm proud of her design, but explaining all of this is annoying, because it's technically all relevant to showing how her colors were picked and how the design was made. I still technically have AI to """Thank""", in the way you thank a bad experience for encouraging you to make things better out of spite.

So a year or two ago I saw this amazing post on tumblr about colour symbolism in Miraculous (I really wish I could source it here but I can’t find it anywhere I am literally kicking myself right now). Anyway, it is an incredible theory and once start seeing the connections you can’t stop. The basic idea is that the some of the colours that characters wear or are associated with symbolise their general motivations. The theory focuses specifically on the colours red, white and black. The meanings kind of evolved as more people reblogged but from what I remember the basic gist is this:
Red= duty / loyalty
White= control
Black= love
I think they actually said that black was romance, but that definition is just a little too limiting in my opinion and broadening in it out allows you to make more connections. I am also broadening out red as well to include loyalty for the same reasons (besides duty and loyalty are also pretty similar, so it’s not that much of a stretch).
Anyway, I bring this up because I saw the post at some point during season 4—definitely before the release of season 5 anyway, but looking back on the latest season just made me realise that oh my god they were so right. So, I’m just going to show you some of things I’ve noticed when it comes to this theory, especially surrounding season 5. (Buckle up guys, this is gonna be a long post).
But before I get into all that, I just want to mention that the placement of the clothing also informs the meaning behind the colour. This was also mentioned in the original post too I believe, but I can’t remember exactly how it worked so I’m just gonna put my own spin on it based on what I noticed.
So when I say the placement of the clothing I’m really just talking about whether the colour is the top or bottom layer of clothing—jacket vs. T-shirt, blazer vs. shirt etc.. The bottom layer is the character’s core motive, with the top layer being more secondary. A lot of the time the secondary motive informs the core one, so it kind of becomes the means with which they achieve their core motive. For example, a character wearing a red coat with a black T-shirt could be interpreted as loyalty or duty coming from a place a love—they do what they believe is right because of the people they love etc.
Ladybug / Marinette
Ok, time to put this theory into action, and what better place to start than the main character? Ladybug’s costume is pretty straightforward: red with black spots. The red obviously represents her duty as a hero, her main motive when in costume. and the spots could either represent her love for Paris or if you’re a Ladynoir shipper, her love for Chat Noir, it could really go either way.
Her civilian outfit is where it starts to get interesting though. Marinette wears a black blazer with a white top underneath. With the white as the core motive and the black as the secondary one, this indicates love from a place of control, and this is backed up by the events of show. Marinette clearly does love Adrien but she can also be very particular about how she approaches her love. She knows every detail about him, such as the schedule she has in “Copycat”, and feels the need to control every detail when she tries to confess to him, such as Operation: Secret Garden in “Gigantitan”. This controlling nature is only solidfied in the episode “Derision” after Kim pranks her on their date. “I should’ve had a plan […] I’ll never tell another boy that I love him before I know everything about him” (11:53-12:04).
Chat Noir / Adrien
Chat Noir is also pretty simple when it comes to colour symbolism in the show. His suit is all black, indicating that his main motive is love. In earlier seasons this most likely symbolised his love for Ladybug but now that he is with Marinette we can assume that it symbolises his generally loving attitude, whether it be towards his friends, family, maybe even Paris itself.
His civilian clothing also points to this same idea, with his T-shirt being black. Adrien also has a white over shirt, but rather than this representing some need for control, I’d argue this more so symbolises Gabriel’s control over him, which of course, does inform a lot of Adrien’s actions. Gabriel’s control pushes the black down another layer—it suppresses it. Instead showing off his colours proudly like he does as Chat Noir he has to leave them cloaked under a white surface, trying to navigate his core motive of love while being unable to fully shake off the white. Think of the many times when Gabriel has kept him away from his friends, like in the episode “Bubbler” where he wasn’t allowed to have a birthday party, or in “Revolution” when Gabriel ships him off to London for the next school year.
Interestingly, this isn’t the only instance where a white top layer indicates control thrusted onto the character wearing the colour. Kagami also follows a similar pattern sporting a white blazer and a controlling mother. She also has both red and black in the bottom layers so make of that what you will.
Another thing to note is that many of Adrien’s modelling outfits are fully white, such as the one in the fragrance ad or the angel outfit in “Simpleman”, representing the complete control Gabriel has over him when he is modelling. Correct me if I’m wrong here, but the only modelling outfit that is not white (apart from the stock photos like the ones in the mansion perhaps) is the one that he wears in “Queen Wasp”. Instead of fully white this suit is fully black, and it is topped off with a black pigeon hat, a hat that Marinette, who is in love with Adrien, made. Additionally, this is the episode where Gabriel almost gives up being Hawkmoth because of how Adrien was attacked by Style Queen in the previous episode. He is less controlling of Adrien and more loving in this episode, even go so far as to hug him in his first public appearance since Emilie’s death, and the black suit reflects that.
However, the idea that Adrien’s all-white clothes represent Gabriel’s control isn’t even just limited to modelling. When Chat Noir is akumatised in “Chat Blanc” his suit also becomes fully white.
In season 5, the Alliance rings are also closely linked to the colour white. The Adrien and Kagami avatars wear all white, indicating the controlling nature of the alliance and the fact that The two of them have no control over how their image is used. Even the virtual space that the avatars exist in is an empty white void, reminiscent of the padded rooms the two are placed in during the season 5 finale, rooms which are used to confine and control the two.
The only time when the Alliance interface is not white is when it changes to red. There’s two times this has happened as far as I’m aware: in “Revelation” when Hoaxer enters the Alliance rings and feeds the people fake news, and in “Confirmation” when Gabriel creates fake footage of Ladybug and Chat Noir kidnapping Adrien and Kagami’s avatars. In both of these scenarios, someone is preying on the public’s loyalty to the alliance rings and their sense of duty to get them to do their bidding.
And look, I know I’ve been straying away a from Adrien a bit, but I also just want to mention that the colour white is often associated with the rich and powerful of Paris in general. This is most clearly seen in “Emotion”, where the VIP party’s dress code is literally all white, reflecting how all the people in that room control Paris.
Gabriel
Speaking of rich and powerful, Gabriel also draws from the colour triad. He does have a few layers that aren’t one of these three colours but his very bottom layer is a white shirt, which isn’t a surprise really, we just went over how he is controlling with both Adrien and the alliance rings. He also has a striped red tie symbolising either his loyalty towards Emilie or the fact that he believes it is his duty to bring her back to life. The white stripes also indicate control, probably to reflect the way that he will do anything in his power to bring Emilie back, like using the miraculous wish, because he is incapable of accepting that sometimes things happen beyond your control and all you can do is move on.
In season 5 he wears all white as his obsession with the wish—his means of complete control, takes over. It could also represent how he’s become even more controlling of Adrien despite pretending to be more loving, (because again, he literally ships his own son off to a different country). Interestingly, in the episode “Destruction” he is inflicted with a cataclysm, a black cataclysm, which could be a visual metaphor for his love for Emilie literally destroying him, which is a really cool in my opinion.
Lila Rossi
Lila is definitely the most interesting character to analyse under this theory, because not only do her clothes draw from the colour triad but even her name does. According to nameberry.com, Lila means night (ie black) and Rossi means red in Italian. She also wears a red cardigan with black underneathduty or loyalty from a place of love. If we take Lila claims at face value then this makes sense, like in the episode “Chameleon”, when she catches a napkin with her sprained wrist to protect Max, all the while saying things like “I didn’t have a choice” (i.e duty) and “Why wouldn’t I Max […] you’re my friend” (i.e love) (5:40-42 and 5:47-50). But of course, Lila is a liar which means that everything from her name to even the clothes she wears is a carefully constructed illusion.
In the episode “Confrontation” it is revealed that Lila has actually been juggling two fake identities: Lila Rossi and Cerise Bianca. Now this is where it gets really interesting because Lila’s second identity also draws from the colour triad too. Cerise is a shade of red similar to that of cherries or rubies and guess what Bianca means in Italian? That’s right—white.
This can mean a few different things. Perhaps her Cerise persona is more noticeably controlling. Lila’s name directly reflected her clothing, with her first name indicating the the bottom layer (the core motive) and her second name the top layer (the means) so if we apply the same logic to Cerise then maybe her name indicates that this persona’s motives are control from a place a duty, in other words being bossy and controlling because she feels like it’s her job to lead and help everyone.
Another interpretation could be that these are Lila’s true motivations, especially with her being named after the colour white, and if you really want to stretch it, then you could also argue that the red indicates loyalty to herself; she controls everyone because it exclusively benefits her.
it could also be interpreted as somewhere in between. Instead of it being solely Cerise’s fake motivations or Lila’s true motivations it is rather a step closer to the truth. The loyalty to herself theory is, like I said, a stretch. If anything, her true motivation is probably just control for control’s sake, and in this Cerise persona her true colours are shining through a little.
I couldn’t really find a natural place to put this but I also just want to point out here that when she was akumatised into Hoaxer she still had the red and black colour scheme that she does as Lila because she’s still using the same tactics that she does as a civilian, pretending that all she does is out of love and duty. She does also however have splashes of white on her belt, tail and ends of her hair, so maybe that also symbolises her true colours showing through too.
I’m honestly curious to see if Cerise’s clothes will change in season 6 to reflect her name, especially with a lot of the other characters getting new outfits too. Either way I think it’s really interesting how both her fake identities are based off of these three colours.
The great thing about this theory is that it’s not just confined to these four characters. Plenty of more characters also wear these colours, such as Kagami, who I briefly touched on, Emilie (and Amelie by extension), Tomoe Tsurugi, even Nathalie. The only reason why I didn’t delve into these characters is because this post is getting pretty long and I think I’ve made my point, but really, I’ve barely scratched the surface here. There is so much significance with these three colours, they are literally everywhere.

Masculinity & appearance observations in Alan Wake 2
This may not be a fully coherent post but bare with me, I'm writing some observations on different men in AW2.
It goes without saying that while there's more diversity in the game vs their previous AW game, the majority of characters are still men so I thought it'd be fun to look at some of them.
--
Alan/Scratch/Zane/Seine: I think Alan is, appearance wise, somewhat generic. White, male, dark-haired and bearded protagonist. However, him being a writer first makes him more unusual in the game world. Usually, a male protagonist is an adventurer, a soldier but while Alan has some basic knowledge of firearms and uses them, it's not his main profession nor is it his main weapon, that would still be the flashlight and even then, his sections aren't as action-packed as the first game.
His mental health and constant confusion also makes him deviate from the standard of your typical male hero (even in the horror genre) These traits are not often seen in men in games, who are supposed to be stoic, confident, heroic and aggressive. The latter trait being very overt in Mr Scratch who behaves more animalistic in AW2 than AW1.
Finally, you have Zane who is nothing like we've seen him in AW1. He has more personality and a completely different look. Especially in the motel sequences. As Ilkka had said himself, Zane can love whoever he wants and his romantic/sexual freedom is reflected in his fruity outfit. The leather pants, bracelets, necklaces, shirtless or bare-chested with a loose blouse or just a blazer on. He wears eyeliner and is much more expressive in both body language and voice. His hair is literally not straight. The contrast is prominent when he's directly played against Alan who has a more muted posture/attitude and outfit. Only in YY where Seine portrays Veikko, does he wear a formal, typical masculine suit in the writer's room but interestingly, when he exits the Well, he wears the leather pants and is shirtless again.
Casey: In any other game, Casey probably would've been the protagonist. Somewhat stoic, knows how to handle weapons, an ex-wife, etc. But through interactions with his partner Saga and through Saga's mind place, we know Casey to be not just a hard-boiled cop (like his Dark Place counterpart/Alan's Casey). He seems to have a soft spot for Saga and her family (directly shown in that photo of him doing the dishes during Logan's Bday party).
Warlin Door: Door is a well-composed man and great talk show host. However, when the camera isn't rolling and he confronts Alan, his attitude shifts and he becomes dead serious and calculated. Alas, we don't see or know much more about Door besides his appearance on the talk show. He is one of the few men of color with a prominent role and I think he has the most screentime (Steven Lin and Ed Booker having significant less screentime) (On a sidenote, it's great to see how much David Harewood enjoyed playing this role and I hope they do more with his character in the future)
The Anderson Brothers: Their age doesn't make them stop dressing like rock and roll stars: the combat boots, the leather jacket/coat. Tor seems to be wearing a Viking-inspired necklace and subtly has braided his beard to look the part as well in this iteration of him. I don't have much else to say about them.
The Koskela Brothers: Them with many NPCs in Watery embody the male, working class. They are blue-collar workers: Jaakko's construction pants, Ilmo's fishing waders and on top of that, their leather jackets to signify their involvement with the Kalevala Knights motorclub. Ilmo is assertive, an active business man with a whole lot of plans. Jaakko is a bit different, having some traits and a role that you also don't often see in male videogame characters. He is a single dad who seems to care about his kids, and unlike Ilmo, Jaakko is introverted with a more monotone voice for most of the game. However, his appearance is very manly with a big mark being of course his beard. Through notes, it's also apparent he's the maintenance guy in Coffee World.
Ilmari: Now I'm not too well-versed in Finnish history, but a fellow fan pointed out that Ilmari and his men might've been based of of the puukkojunkkarit (knife junkers/fighters) Historically, these were troublemakers in the Ostrobothnia region of Finland. On the wiki page it's also said that people respected them becos they dared to stand up against society and authorities. (Which is interesting, because Ilmari is somewhat connected to Ilmo who also shows to be anti-authoritarian.) The gang clearly seems to be of the lower class when you look at their outfits. Ilmari, however, seems to be richer. The shirt looks nicer, he wears that bolo tie and the leather jacket.
Steven Lin: So Steven is the only Asian male character that is named and has a bit of dialogue in the game. He is a technician with the FBC and is seen talking to Ilmo and Saga. Can't help but notice that the technician is an Asian guy. The seems to be a standard Asian male Taken and citizen (which is also used as the FBC agent arresting Ilmo) and I think that's about it when it comes to Asian male rep. I'm adding Steven becos as an Asian guy, rep can be severely lacking lmao.
Besides some racist remarks toward Saga, I don't think race has been really discussed unless I've forgotten something.
--
Anyways, feel free to add your own thoughts and observations

How to formally dress masculine
When I was younger the only formal event aside from prom was cotillion, so when I got a black tie invitation to a distant cousin's wedding, I was conflicted. I was recently out as trans, and while my cousin had said it was fine, I didn't know how to dress up in a masculine way. I hounded the internet for so long, trying to figure out what to wear. I struggled to buy stuff as well, since I'd never had to measure myself for a tux before, and all the ones at the closest mall looked cheap, and I wanted my first look to be one to remember.
Apparently, there's a lot that goes into deciding what to wear. The event changes the type of outfit, the venue changes the vibe of the fit, suits vs tuxedos, color scheme, color combos, pocket squares vs boutonnieres... let's just say it was more stressful than it had any right to be. So let's begin just at the type of event.
Event
White tie, black tie, black tie optional, semiformal, cocktail... and many more event types exist out there. I'll quickly sum each up. White tie masculine means you're dressed to the nines, but as if you were in the 1800s. Tailcoats, waistcoats, gloves, the works. Black tie masc means its an event the paparazzi will stake out so you gotta look Nice. Tuxedo, patent leather shoes, preferably bow tie with studs but long ties work. (Also, black tie doesn't mean your tie has gotta be black, just a dark color.) Black tie optional events are where you can wear a suit if you'd like, long ties are preferred, and as far as I can tell this is where belts start getting worn, and they gotta match the shoes. Semiformal is the same as business wear. Suits are preferred. Cocktail is like tuxedo casual, ties aren't required, sports coats can be worn, pocket squares preferred. If you're looking for a specific type of event, I'd check google.
Venue
Venues can surprisingly change your vibe pretty easily. Think about it, you won't wear the same thing to a museum wedding as a barn wedding. Same hat, essentially. Thankfully, it can be explained pretty easily: if it's inside, typically it's gonna be nicer than an outdoor event. There are outliers of course, I mean, have you ever seen the kentucky derby? But usually that is a pretty good indicator of outfit vibes.
Keep in mind you can always google "cocktail wedding masculine outfit inspo" and check if your fit, well, fits.
Color Scheme
Pay attention to the venue of course, but also look at your calling cards/invitations. What colors are prominent? If it's a wedding, does it specify colors for you? If not and you've never done this before (like me) an all black fit with a white shirt is pretty standard and fits a good amount of events. If the invitation has earthy colors, maybe look for a green tie and brown suit. If it's navy blue and gold, maybe a navy jacket with black pants and gold studs and cufflinks. You judge.
Color Combos
On that note, all colors look good but not all colors look good together, you know? I'll just go ahead and list common color combos here in a sec, but a good piece of advice is try and do the same color hue. Dark blue and dark grey, or tan and pale green or pink are good combos, but dark blue with hot pink? It would only work in a specific and unique circumstance, yeah? Just keep that in mind.
Good combos:
Blue, grey, and black are standard colors and look good with a lot. Steel blue and middle grey. Light grey and a sage green. Terracotta and tan. Of course, black and white.
What is what
Suits, tuxes, sports coats, and blazers are all different things, apparently. I guarantee not a ton of people know this anymore, but if you wanna get technical, there are a few telltales on which is which.
Suits have buttons that are plastic or wood, and you see the holes where they are stitched to the jacket. The lapel (the folded part of the front, where you see your shirt underneath) is the same as the rest of the jacket. The fit is more rectangular than triangle. Suit jackets match the fabric of the pants.
Tuxedos have buttons that are covered in cloth. The lapel is usually a satin in a similar color as the rest of it. Tuxedo pants have pleats and don't have belt loops to my knowledge.
Sports coats are patterned, and you don't have matching pants, but instead have pants that compliment the pattern.
Blazers are a solid color and have metal or wood buttons. You don't match the pants, but instead compliment the jacket.
Pocket Squares vs Boutonnieres
It used to be that pocket squares were worn at every event, folded nicely and tucked into the breast pocket. They have since fallen out of style, and replaced with boutonnieres (thank spell check for that btw). Boutonnieres should complement the rest of the outfit OR stand out from the rest of the outfit. An ivory ribbon with an ivory shirt, Never wear white with ivory unless that's the specific look you are going for (it looks dingy). Blue flowers with blue suit. Pocket squares tend to match the tie. They can be worn at the same time, but one must be understated to allow for both without looking "overweighted" in your pocket.
How to Measure for online orders
This is a sizing guide I just mocked up that follows the majority of formal wear websites that I looked at (it's not perfect, I did it on my phone). Some sites may differ, so double check it, but I'll walk you through measuring.
The first measurement you should make is red, going around the base of the neck where it connects at the shoulders. Don't measure too tightly, but also don't measure too loose. You should comfortably be able to stick two fingers next to your neck without choking you out.
The second is in blue, beginning in the middle of the neck where the spine begins protruding (if you're wearing a t-shirt, look where the label sits and go just above it), extending to the left outer shoulder on the back, then to the part of the elbow that's boney, then to the meat of the thumb, stop it just before the first knuckle of the thumb
The third and fourth are both green. The third will stretch across the widest part of the chest over your arms. If you're trans, wear the binder you will be wearing when you dress up, or else it will be too big. If you're cis, the measurement will cross over where most folks have their nipples, but I gotta say prioritise the widest part of your chest over your nipples when measuring. The fourth will be almost the same measurement but under your arms, oftentimes in the armpit. Take a deep breath.
The fifth, sixth, and seventh are all a hot pink color. The fifth measures around your natural waist. This is your typical "dip" in your sides, and should cross over your belly button. The sixth will be where you tend to wear your waistline of your pants. The seventh will crosses over most folks' crotch area, and will go over your butt, across the widest part of your seat.
The eighth and ninth are a purple color and the only ones got top to bottom instead of left to right. The eighth begins at the same place the sixth line ends, at the right of the waistline of where you wear your pants, and will extend along the outer leg, and will end where the knob of your ankle is. The ninth begins where the crotch is, and extends down the right side of the inner leg, and ends where the knob of the ankle is of the same leg that you measured for eight.
The first and second measurement will be for your shirt, for example a 15 inch neck and a 34 inch arm seam will be 15x34. The third and fourth will be your chest measurements and will make sure you don't hulk out of your jacket. They tend to have an 8-10 inch difference, such as 48 overarm and 40 underarm. The fifth, sixth, and seventh will ensure when you drop it down low you don't split your pants wide open, and tend to be similar to the underarm measurement with a 5 inch difference. So a 40 chest will be a 40 hip/widest part, with a 35 waistline and say maybe a 37 natural waist. I noticed some companies prefer one over the other for the eighth and the ninth, so check for OUTseam vs INseam when looking at their site.
How to check if an outfit fits correctly
Well, first put it on. If you can't get it on, shockingly I don't think it fits (haha).
The top shirt button, even if it will be covered by a tie, needs to close and not choke you out. It may be uncomfortable if you aren't used to them, but there is a difference between uncomfortable and choking you out. The neck typically is the determinator of the rest of the shirt aside from the sleeves, and doesn't usually get smaller/bigger without getting a smaller/bigger size neck. Some companies do offer a fitted version of their shirts, so check when looking online if you think you need one. The sleeve of the shirt, once buttoned, should rest on the meat of your thumb and around your wrist.
The pants should feel comfortable, if not a little thick, and you should be able to sit without them riding up past your sock or threatening to split. While standing, you shouldn't see above your ankle knob and the pants should have a little crease while resting on top of your shoe, unless you're showing off your shoes.
While wearing the jacket, you shouldn't be able to pinch more than an inch of fabric at the shoulder seam. The sleeves should let a little shirt peak out but still rest on the wrist while your arms are at your sides. The lapel shouldn't bulge or stretch once buttoned. The bottom of the jacket should rest at about your palms when you stand tall and relaxed.
Wow. That was a lot more information than I thought I knew. Maybe I should look into being someone's tailor /j. Anyway, I ended up renting from https://generationtux.com/ since they are totally online, and really like how I looked, but maybe check for in person rentals, since if something had gone wrong I wouldn't have been able to fix it.
If you're trans and wearing a formal look for the first time, wear the stuff you'll be wearing under your suit while measuring, and you should look fairly masculine, especially since suits don't tend to have a feminine cut.
Anyway, happy formalwear hunting. :)

Dress for success: royal tour vs faux royal tour by u/Mickleborough
Dress for success: royal tour vs faux royal tour Comparisons are odious, but Meghan begs for them.Looking at images of Meghan’s undress on the Sussexes’ faux royal Nigeria tour in May 2024 triggered memories of the (then) Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s actual royal tour of Pakistan in October 2019. There are some high-level similarities between Nigeria and Pakistan: both have distinct traditional garb and - naturally - local designers of note. Nigeria‘s roughly 50-50 Christian and Muslim whilst Pakistan‘s Muslim. Both can be regarded as conservative countries. The temperatures are also similar - Nigeria’s around 31 C / 87.8 F in May, and Pakistan 29 C / 84.2 F. NB I haven’t checked humidity or other temperature factors. And interestingly, the flags of both countries are green and white.I’ve tried to confine this to clothing worn on similar visits and occasions.Visiting the army -Altazurra 2-piece - apparently the blazer and trousers aren’t matching, so not a suit. Wait okay I've been looking at the pics of Gerard closer bc I was curious about something. There is one thing that working in a clothing shop has taught me and thats recognizing womens vs. mens cuts (well... clothes are just clothes but I gotta tag them as womens or mens etc whatever, unfortunately very binary here, gross).
Ofc the skirt, feminine. They're wearing nylons, also feminine.
Their dress shirt has those seams down the front that shapes the garment to help account for breasts. It's a woman's dress shirt. A few people have pointed that out.
But what I haven't seen people bring up is: their suit jackets button is on the left. Mens clothes have their buttons on the right. Theres shape curving it in slightly at the hip, and there's shoulder pads which, yes, appear in both, but I've seen them more with the womens blazers that come into the store than the mens. Their entire outfit is comprised of "womans" clothes. I thought it was a mens blazer this whole time until I noticed the fuckin shoulder pads and questioned myself.
#I mean I'm no fashion expert but I do know my button placements#mcr#tbh womens blazers look better than mens i just think they're more flattering on anyone

How to Find the Perfect Business Suit for Women: A Style Guide
In the world of business, how you present yourself matters. Whether you're climbing the corporate ladder, attending high-powered meetings, or leading your own company, wearing a business suit for women that fits well and aligns with your personal style can make a powerful impression. But finding the perfect formal suit for women isn’t always easy. The right suit should not only look professional but also make you feel confident and comfortable.
In this blog, we’ll explore essential tips for women on how to choose the perfect business suit, from selecting the right fit to finding the best fabrics and colors.
1. Know Your Fit: Tailored for Success
The key to looking sharp in a business suit for women is getting the right fit. Unlike casual clothing, a business suit needs to be tailored to your body shape to give off a polished appearance.
Shoulders: The jacket’s shoulders should align perfectly with yours. A well-fitted shoulder creates a sharp, professional look.
Waist: The waistline of your jacket should create some definition, even if you prefer a looser fit. Avoid overly tight jackets, but also stay clear of those that look boxy.
Pant or Skirt Length: For pants, ensure that the hem just grazes the top of your shoes. If you’re opting for a skirt, the ideal length is just above or below the knee—flattering and professional. This is essential for creating a refined business formal women look.
2. Choose Fabrics Wisely: Comfort Meets Elegance
Fabric choice is crucial when selecting a formal suit for women. High-quality fabrics not only look better but also last longer and feel more comfortable throughout a busy workday.
Wool: Wool is a popular choice for business suits for women due to its durability, breathability, and luxurious feel. It's ideal for year-round wear and comes in various weights for different seasons.
Cotton Blends: Cotton suits are great for warmer climates. They provide breathability but may wrinkle more easily than wool. For an office suit for women, cotton blends offer a more relaxed feel while still maintaining a professional appearance.
Linen: While linen can be stylish and comfortable in summer, it tends to wrinkle easily, making it less ideal for formal business settings.
3. Select the Right Colors: Classic vs. Contemporary
The color of your suit can set the tone for how you're perceived in the workplace. For a business formal for women, choosing the right color is essential.
Classic Colors: Navy, black, and charcoal gray are timeless choices that work in any professional setting. These colors exude authority, professionalism, and dependability.
Modern Neutrals: If you want to break away from the norm, consider lighter neutrals like beige, camel, or soft gray for a contemporary, polished look.
Bold Hues: Deep jewel tones like burgundy, emerald, or royal blue can be great for women who want to add a pop of color without sacrificing professionalism.
4. Mix and Match: Versatility is Key
A versatile suit wardrobe can help you maximize your office suit for women collection. Start with a few core pieces and mix and match for different looks.
Blazers and Pants: Buy separate blazers and pants in neutral colors so you can create multiple combinations. A black blazer can easily pair with gray or navy pants, giving you more outfit options. This allows you to create both casual and business formal for women looks with ease.
Layering: Add versatility with blouses, turtlenecks, and button-down shirts that can be layered under your suit jacket. This will also allow you to incorporate a bit of your personal style through prints or colors.
5. Details Matter: Accessories to Elevate Your Look
Accessories can elevate your formal pant suit for ladies without overpowering your look. Keep it simple yet stylish.
Shoes: Invest in a pair of classic pumps or loafers. Ensure your shoes are polished and in good condition. Stick with neutral colors like black, nude, or navy.
Jewelry: Minimalist jewelry works best with business formal women outfits. Think simple studs, a classic watch, or a delicate necklace. Avoid anything too flashy or large.
Belts: A thin leather belt in a neutral shade can cinch your waist and add a finishing touch to your outfit.
6. Consider Your Body Type: Flattering Silhouettes
Different body types look best in different suit styles. Here are a few tips based on common body shapes:
Hourglass: Look for tailored jackets that accentuate your waist. Opt for pencil skirts or fitted trousers that complement your curves.
Apple Shape: Choose longer blazers with a structured fit to create balance. Straight-leg pants or A-line skirts can also flatter this body type.
Pear Shape: Highlight your upper body with fitted jackets. Go for wide-legged trousers or A-line skirts to balance proportions.
Conclusion
A well-chosen business suit for women can be a game-changer in your professional wardrobe, boosting your confidence and making you stand out in the best way possible. French Cuff vs. Buttoned Cuff: Which is the Right Choice?
There are plenty of alternatives available when it comes to dress shirts. The choice between a French cuff and a buttoned cuff is one of the most important ones you will have to make. French cuffs, sometimes referred to as double cuffs, are secured by cufflinks after being folded back on themselves. They are well-liked for black tie parties and are frequently connected to more formal settings. However, the more conventional choice are buttoned cuffs, which contain one or two buttons to secure the cuff. What situations call for a French cuff to be preferred over a buttoned cuff, and vice versa? In the end, the choice is based on the situation and the individual. French cuffs exude sophistication and elegance and are typically more formal. These are perfect for elegant events like black tie affairs or weddings. They also look fantastic with a blazer or jacket on top. Contrarily, buttoned cuffs are more adaptable and suitable for a range of occasions. They may be dressed up or down depending on the situation, making them ideal for the office. To ensure that every customer has the ideal fit and design, Reign Custom Tailor offers French cuffs and buttoned cuffs in over ten distinct shapes. For a special and elegant finishing touch, our bespoke tailors can additionally add a monogram to the cuff. In conclusion, take the occasion and your own style into account when choosing between a French cuff and a buttoned cuff. At Reign, we have the know-how to guide you toward the best decision and produce a custom dress shirt that suits you well.

The Bandhgala: A Timeless Piece of Indian Menswear
The Bandhgala, also known as a Jodhpuri suit, is a classic garment that has become a staple in Indian men's ethnic wear. Combining sophistication and tradition, it offers a versatile option for various occasions. Whether you're attending a wedding, a formal event, or even a festive celebration, a well-tailored bandhgala can elevate your look and make a lasting impression.
Decoding the Bandhgala: History and Style
The Bandhgala's origins can be traced back to the British Raj era in India. It emerged as a fusion of the Achkan, a long coat worn by Indian royalty, and the formal European suit. This unique blend resulted in a garment with a distinct character – a short, knee-length jacket featuring a mandarin collar and a closely fitted front with a single row of buttons.
Key characteristics of a Bandhgala:
Mandarin collar: This signature element adds a touch of elegance and cultural flair.
Close-fitting front: The single row of buttons creates a clean and streamlined silhouette.
Knee-length jacket: The typical length provides a formal and balanced look.
Paired with trousers: Bandhgalas are traditionally paired with fitted trousers for a cohesive ensemble.
Bandhgala for Men: A Versatile Choice
The beauty of the Bandhgala lies in its versatility. It can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and your personal style.
Formal Events: A classic Bandhgala suit in rich fabrics like silk or brocade is a perfect choice for weddings, receptions, and formal gatherings. Opt for muted tones like black, navy blue, or beige for a timeless look.
Festive Celebrations: Incorporate festive colors and patterns into your Bandhgala for a celebratory vibe. Sherwanis with Bandhgala jackets are popular choices for Diwali or other Indian festivals.
Modern Twist: For a contemporary touch, explore Bandhgala blazers in lighter fabrics like cotton or linen. These can be paired with a kurta and churidar for a stylishly ethnic look, suitable for semi-formal occasions or even a fusion wedding.
Choosing the Right Bandhgala for You
With the growing popularity of Bandhgalas, there's a wide variety of styles and fabrics available to suit your taste and budget. Here are some factors to consider when choosing the perfect Bandhgala:
Fabric: Silk and brocade offer a luxurious look for formal occasions. Cotton and linen are more comfortable options for everyday wear.
Color: Opt for classic black, navy blue, or beige for a timeless appeal. For festive events, explore vibrant colors like burgundy, emerald green, or even printed fabrics.
Fit: A well-tailored Bandhgala should fit comfortably around the shoulders and chest, with a clean line down the body.
Styling Tips for a Polished Look
Accessorize: Elevate your Bandhgala with a pocket square or a statement brooch. Consider adding a Nehru cap for a more traditional touch.
Footwear: Opt for formal shoes like Oxfords or Derbys for a polished look. For a more relaxed setting, loafers can be a good choice.
Underneath it all: Pair your Bandhgala with a kurta in a contrasting color or a simple white shirt depending on the formality of the occasion.
Bandhgala vs Sherwani: Understanding the Difference
Both Bandhgalas and Sherwanis are popular ethnic wear options for men, but there are some key differences:
Length: Sherwanis are typically longer than Bandhgalas, reaching down to the knees or below.
Closure: Sherwanis often have a side closure with buttons running diagonally across the chest, while Bandhgalas feature a central front closure.
Formality: Sherwanis are generally considered more formal attire compared to Bandhgalas.
Ultimately, the choice between a Bandhgala and a Sherwani depends on your personal preference and the occasion.
The Bandhgala is a timeless piece of Indian menswear that offers a unique blend of sophistication and tradition. With its versatility and range of styles, it's a must-have for any man who appreciates classic elegance. So, embrace the charm of the Bandhgala and elevate your ethnic wear wardrobe!

Full Sleeves Shirts For Women vs. Puff Sleeves Shirts: A Stylish Showdown
When it comes to fashion, the debate between full sleeves shirts for women and puff sleeves shirts is one that ignites passion among style enthusiasts. Both styles offer unique aesthetics and appeal to different tastes, making it essential to understand their differences and how they fit into your wardrobe. Let's delve into the stylish showdown between full sleeves and puff sleeves shirts, exploring their styles, versatility, and popularity among women.
Full Sleeves Shirts For Women: Timeless Elegance
Full sleeves shirts exude timeless elegance and sophistication, making them a staple in many women's wardrobes. The elongated sleeves offer ample coverage and create a sleek silhouette that flatters various body types. One of the main advantages of full sleeves shirts is their versatility. They can seamlessly transition from casual to formal settings, offering endless styling possibilities.
In terms of styling, full sleeves shirts for women are incredibly versatile. They can be paired with tailored trousers for a polished office look or with denim jeans for a casual yet chic ensemble. Accessorizing with statement jewelry or a belt can elevate the outfit and add a touch of personality. Additionally, full sleeves shirts are perfect for layering under blazers or jackets during cooler months, allowing for year-round wear.
While full sleeves shirts offer timeless elegance, they may not be suitable for everyone. Some women may find them restrictive or too formal for their everyday style. Additionally, full sleeves shirts may not be ideal for warmer climates or seasons, as the extra fabric can feel cumbersome in hot weather.
Puff Sleeves Shirts: Playful Sophistication
On the other hand, puff sleeves shirts are all about making a statement with volume and drama. Characterized by their voluminous sleeves that gather at the shoulders and taper down towards the cuffs, puff sleeves shirts add a playful touch to any outfit. They evoke a sense of femininity and romance, making them a favorite among women who embrace bold fashion choices.
One of the main advantages of puff sleeves shirts is their ability to elevate any look. Whether paired with jeans for a casual day out or a skirt for a special occasion, puff sleeves shirts instantly add a touch of sophistication and flair. They create visual interest and draw attention to the upper body, making them a flattering choice for women looking to accentuate their shoulders and neckline.
When it comes to styling puff sleeves shirts, the key is to balance the volume of the sleeves with the rest of the outfit. Opt for streamlined bottoms like fitted trousers or pencil skirts to complement the voluminous sleeves. Avoid overly bulky or layered pieces, as they can overwhelm the silhouette and detract from the shirt's statement sleeves.
While puff sleeves shirts offer playful sophistication, they may not be suitable for every occasion or personal style. Some women may find the dramatic silhouette too bold for their taste or challenging to incorporate into their existing wardrobe. Additionally, puff sleeves shirts may not be ideal for layering under jackets or blazers, as the voluminous sleeves can create bulkiness.
The Verdict: Choosing the Right Style for You
In the end, the choice between full sleeves and puff sleeves shirts boils down to personal preference and individual style. Both styles offer unique aesthetics and versatility, allowing women to express themselves through fashion. Whether you prefer the timeless elegance of full sleeves or the playful sophistication of puff sleeves, the key is to choose the style that makes you feel confident and comfortable.
At The Anteros, we understand the importance of finding the perfect shirt to suit your style and preferences. What are the clothing styles of Elphaba and Glinda?
Even though I've only seen this musical once onstage so far, I've been looking through production photos and articles on the costuming just so I can answer this question well.
Elphaba clearly favors plain, conservative, dark-colored clothes at every stage in her life. But as she goes through her journey of becoming "wicked," her aesthetic changes from "drab, nerdy schoolgirl" into "sleek, sophisticated lady."
When she first appears in college, she wears a simple dark blue turtleneck sweater, calf-length skirt, blazer jacket, and knitted cap, with tall brown boots. The school colors of Shiz University are dark blue and white, so make Elphaba and Glinda stand out and highlight the contrast between them, Glinda wears all white, while Elphaba wears all blue. When she attends her first party at the Ozdust Ballroom, she wears a stark, sleeveless dark blue party dress, and the pointy black hat Glinda gave her which becomes her signature hat from then on. Back at school, after her makeover by Glinda, she replaces her heavy blue blazer with a form-fitting white jacket. When she first visits the Emerald City, she wears a high-necked, ankle-length, button-down black dress in an Edwardian design, very similar to the dress worn by Margaret Hamilton's Wicked Witch of the West. In "Defying Gravity," Glinda puts a black cloak around her to warm her, which completes the classic "Witch of the West" look. Throughout Act II, however, when she fully becomes the Witch of the West, she wears her most iconic dress. Black, floor-length, high-necked, long-sleeved, and still in a conservative Edwardian style, but much more glamorous than any of her earlier costumes, with a subtle yet wide assortment of patterns, textures, and colors woven into it (chiefly purple, red, and teal). The costume designer Susan Hilferty wrote that she meant for this dress to evoke the earth – raw, jagged, rocky earth, but with gemstones shining through it. At the very end, though, she wears a simple, low-cut, floor-length black dress when she leaves Oz with Fiyero after faking her death.
Glinda's costumes are just the opposite of Elphaba's – light, frilly, flouncy, and bubbly. Although one similarity (possibly symbolic?) is that in Act II, she favors the color blue like Elphaba did in Act I, just in a much lighter shade. Her aesthetic also changes from girlish and cute in Act I to more glamorous and womanly in Act II.
Her schoolgirl outfit is a short-sleeved white blouse and vest, a lacy knee-length white skirt, and white buckled high heels (she loves high heels), with a white travel jacket and white tam o'shanter hat at the beginning. To the Ozdust Ballroom party and in "Popular," she wears a frilly, sleeveless, knee-length pink dress and pink heels. In her first trip to the Emerald City, she wears a similar sleeveless, knee-length dress, but in yellow. Then in Act II, her costumes upgrade to reflect her new, high-status public role. Her "Thank Goodness" costume is an elegant yet conservative (although still slightly quirky and Oz-like) suit dress of ice blue and mint green silk, with a tiny white hat, inspired by the 1940s fashions worn by Eva Peron to evoke Glinda's similarity to Eva as a political figurehead. To her engagement ball, she wears a sleeveless, sequined, pale green ballgown with a full, 17th century-inspired skirt that looks like flower petals, and a silver tiara with a flower design. Finally, she wears her iconic, elaborate "bubble dress": a short-sleeved, bare-shouldered, large-skirted ice blue gown like that of a classic fairy princess, all covered in tiny crystal sequins, with another petal-like design for the skirt, and with a silver tiara shaped like glittering stars on her head.
The differences in Elphaba and Glinda's costumes is mirrored by the design of their college dorm room too, with Elphaba's plain patched-quilt bed and shelves of books vs. Glinda's frilly purple bed and shelves of designer shoes. By the way, that dorm room set reminds me of the difference between Margaret Hamilton's dressing room and Billie Burke's on the set of The Wizard of Oz. Allegedly, the studio treated them almost as if they really were the Witch of the West and Glinda; Billie Burke had a beautiful pink and blue dressing room, while Margaret Hamilton was just given a plain, ugly canvas tent.
