Watching Sarcophagus and reached the conversation between Avon and Tarrant and stuck by Avon’s reaction to each words. I don’t know if it’s me reading too much into it but when he was accused to be desired to take over the ship, Avon just really ignored the comment but when Blake was mentioned there was really a twist in his expression.
Especially when Tarrant said “if it wasn’t for Blake, you would be rotting on Signa Alpha” The lack of comment given by Avon is a way he accepted it was true. Also what an act pull off my Paul Darrow. The man didn’t even have to say any lines but his body language just said a thousand.

#I’m oof my seat with this scene#I replay it like 3 times now and I need to calm down#also I get it now why people very draw to Avon and Tarrant relationships cause now I am too#blake’s 7#blakes 7#kerr avon#roj blake#del terrant#my live reaction#spoilers

So the funny thing in I Saw the TV Glow is of course that in-universe, The Pink Opaque's ending must be weird AF. Like, we don't talk about it because it works just too well as a metaphor, but that teens' TV show absolutely did end with both main character getting buried alive and kind of left there.
Except that, of course, our world has got wildly popular TV shows with similar ending, too.
So, may I propose the mental image:
You are out here, living your life. It kind of sucks, like there is this thing that isn't quite right, but you don't know what it is, so you are kind of existing without any greater joys or passions, but what can one do. Then your old friend, whom you haven't seen in ten years, randomly shows up, looking somewhat hectic, and announce: "So, remember that old TV show, Blake's 7? Turns out, I am actually Blake. The Federation caught us and is currently mind washing us to think that all of this is real. You need to wake up, Avon."
I genuinely don't know what I would do in this situation. But the idea is so fucking funny.
#oh look it's my biannual Blake's 7 post#so for everyone who is now forced to see this post:#Blake's 7 is a SERIOUS dystopia#so the most logical reaction to this would be something along the lines of#'FUCK YOU Blake you've already ruined my life once'#like if I had the choice between being a main character in that show and the Midnight Realm#I'm not saying that the Midnight Realm is not the better option#on the other hand...#this scenario would give me the option of looking like Paul Darrow and flying a spaceship....#which IS quite compelling#but only if it comes with the chance of changing everything from the season 3 finale included#IDK#like this started out as a genuine joke#but if it was a real option?#I seriously don't know#i saw the tv glow#Blake's 7#like the show that would realistically be The Pink Opaque#is for me obviously Doctor Who#or a certain childrens' book series That We Do Not Call By Name#but those are easy#everyone wants be the Doctor or the director of a magic school#Blake's 7....#Not THAT is an interesting choice!

thing that kills me about jealous blake is the fact she has a whole harem trailing behind her, but still get jealous of ww getting yang’s attention, it’s great lol
I know, right? Girl just got a little too used to Yang's eyes being on her 100% of the time.
#the funniest thing is Yang gives the kind of reaction that somebody who's already in a relationship would give#when we know they weren't quite there yet#which leads me to conclude that Yang already thought of herself and Blake as basically a couple back in volume 7#anonymous

If you do the black phone still can I request Headcanons on their s/o (female) being unserious and laughs at almost everything and is very giggly?
This was fun to write!! I love writing tbp requests guys its sm fun to me! I’ll be so honest, i was watching aphmau(which i'll be taking requests for now!) while doing this, so i was having a whole load of fun :3!!
|| THE BLACK PHONE BOYS WITH A REALLY GIGGLY S/O! ||
FINNEY BLAKE
Finney has a 50/50 reaction when it comes to his s/o being super giggly! It really depends on the situation
If it’s a situation where either of them gets hurt, for example, tripping or something, he’s a little bit confused as to why your laughing
Until he realizes it’s the “laugh first ask later” type of thing
But of course he makes sure you’re okay! He’d feel bad if you were really injured with it.
If you’re just super giggly, he doesn’t mind! Just unless it comes to school.
Definitely uses your giggly personality to his advantage and stuff, especially during pillow fights and tickle wars!
Yes. He gets dragged into the pillow fights mostly by Gwen.
ROBIN ARELLANO
Robin's a little bit confused about being supper giggly, but he's not mad about it at all!
He's just used to being super focused on his fights, so he enjoys the change of having a giggly partner! it's actually really refreshing to him
like Finney, he uses the giggly personality to his advantage, all the tickle fights and everything of the sort
Would beat the living fuck out of anyone who said it was childish to be super giggly or any insulting words (those are usually from Moose)
Again, laugh first ask later type of person unless it’s super SUPER serious injuries
He buys you silly bandaids just to hear your laugh!
BRUCE YAMADA
Has no issue with your giggly personality! In fact, he matches it! He has a younger sister, so he’s used to outgoing and giggly kinds of situations!
Your laughter and just smile in general is his motivation to win any of his baseball games, he just loves your smile and giggles so much!
He has no issue trying to make you laugh, but of course he makes sure you're okay! He couldn't bear the thought of you getting hurt then laughing it off. well- he can, but of course he's worried about it!
He's definitely the type of person who'll like- copy? If that makes sense! So if he hangs around someone for too long he'll do the same?
For example because I'm bad at explaining, if your super giggly and Bruce hangs around you for a while, he'll eventually start to be a bit more giggly and outgoing!
VANCE HOPPER
Vance is on the "what the fuck is going on" side between the super giggly personality, as he's more used to super serious situations (for example, him always getting in trouble with the cops and everything, getting into fights)
He likes hearing your laugh, dont' get him wrong! he's just not the type of person to get all giggly or laugh much himself. after all, not a lot of people trust him since he's always getting into fights and such.
He enjoys the difference between you two! He enjoys the opposites sort of vibe you two have.
He would willingly beat the shit out of anyone who tries to make fun of your giggly personality. Like Moose for example :]
He's not one to join any pillow fights or anything, he prefers to be much more on the "just relax and let me hear your stupid jokes" side of the relationship
In general, a 7/10 when it comes to his s/o being super giggly!
BILLY SHOWALTER
Billy's similair to Finney for this one, super confused!
But he enjoys the giggles once he finds out it's just your personality!
He loves hearing your laugh when you're playing with Harper, since Harper's usually a super energetic dog!
Definitely takes you to carnivals and loves hearing your laughs at those glass house mirrors (like the silly and funky ones!)
Hearing you laugh while he's making silly faces in photos or anything is like his #1 goal in life
Billy loves you so much that he would definitely send you silly notes during class(he only hopes it doesn't get you two in trouble)
He'd also start laughing if you two ever get a stern lecture, just because of how unserious you are
GRIFFIN STAGG
Griffin's not used to unserious or giggly people, as he's usually self-reserved and quiet with his nose in a book
If you asked him a character that reminded him of you, he'd say Pinkie Pie automatically
He enjoys the silly and outgoing personality you seem to have, he has no issue with it!
He thinks his mother would've loved you, as your the reason he's getting out of the house!
Griffin has NO problem having Vance beat the hell out of someone for making fun of you

Mostly I'm doing Farscape reactions a few episodes at a time, but last night I watched DNA Mad Scientist and that is an episode that needs a post all on its own.
Sometimes Farscape is sexy. Sometimes Farscape is kinky. Those two things overlap less than you might expect.
I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when they decided to put NamTar in full fetish gear, is what I'm saying.
You know you're in for quite an episode when it begins with someone getting a needle poked into their pupil.
(Headcanon: NamTar could have taken a DNA sample from anywhere, he just chose the creepy eye thing to filter out people who would stand up for themselves, like how scammers make obvious mistakes in order to identify easy marks).
The fact that Zhaan is all-in on stealing Pilot's body parts is fascinating to me. I expect that kind of thing of Rygel and D'Argo but not of Zhaan. Having previously grumbled about how little the passage of time is marked in this show, I very much like that we are directly and immediately seeing the consequences of her turn to sadism in That Old Black Magic.
The way that she used her powers to take Pilot's pain while mutilating him was fucking chilling.
I described Farscape as Blake's 7 with muppets, and it's not not that, but in this episode - as with a fair few others - there's also an early-season TNG vibe, which I'm very much into.
For instance learning that Rygel is "not a body breeder" feels very akin to TNG taking all of two episodes to inform us that Data is "fully functional in every way". It was important to learn that the android did fuck and it is equally important to learn that the puppet does not fuck. Despite Zhaan's best attempts.
Although I'm a bit concerned about what that implies for the imperial succession. Would Rygel - had he not been deposed - just have released some reproductive materials into the air like pollen? Or are his species all test tube babies?
Crichton/Aeryn continues to do its sweet slowburn thing, which is fine, but I also very much hope for some more chaotic love interests for each of them.
Was this too early in the 00s to hope that they might not all be straight? It suddenly occurs to me that I would really enjoy queer!Aeryn. (I am normally all about avoiding spoilers but feel free to let me know a yes or no - no details - on this one).
I'm generally not finding D'Argo that interesting relative to all the other characters, but the ending of this episode - where he plays music when Pilot expects a weapon - is an interesting nod to possible hidden depths.
Pilot though. I can't wait for that Pilot-centric episode you've all promised me will come up eventually. What a fascinating character! Who I also very much want to hug.
Just think how cuddly all the arms would be.

That makes me question what was the point of the Atlesian Knights. I guess Ironwood only wanted mindless robots that wouldn't ask questions to work for him.
you know how in Jurassic Park, Hammond keeps talking about how he 'spared no expense' when it came to the running of the park, and the film reveals some massive, gaping problems with the management because the IT system was run by one guy that they didn't even pay well enough that he was willing to sabotage InGen for their competitors?
it's like that. the image of security and safety and Atlas superiority (prioritising the aesthetics over practicality for. robot soldiers. 'a little less scary' why is that a priority to you James? where are you deploying the robots in places that civilians might be scared of them?) and 'removing the human element from the battlefield' was more important than designing those things to be able to take a hit, or programming them to actually use what they're working with (we see in volume 8 when Watts takes control of one that they're capable of sprinting and have explosives in their chests that can be remote detonated, which would both be really useful if you're sending them into Grimm territory. but no, it's always a constant slow march, and they're down in one hit to a Grimm. or a civilian armed with a trash can. or Qrow ripping them apart with his bare hands - plus they were likely made by whichever military contractor bid the lowest)
the only times we see them used to any degree of effectiveness was a) with older models which were clunkier and more durable, b) in larger numbers and c) within enclosed spaces (Black trailer where they were able to pressure Blake and Adam for a minute within the train car, and in the opening to JLxRWBY part 2 when the girls were trying to connect a portal to Earth when there were more deploying than they were destroying)
it's also just a demonstration of how fucked the priorities were in Atlas that the fragile robot drones were primarily deployed for the military when there were much better jobs they were suited for (like. Dust mining. which is repeatedly shown to be horrendously dangerous and life-threatening. cheaply produced robots that can be piloted remotely would reduce the risk to life and limb, not to mention the established long term health risks inherent to Dust mining)
but no. Ironwood doesn't trust anyone so we get his papier-mâché tin cans consistently wasting military money, which is super funny when it keeps backfiring on him
#rwb/y#it is genuinely hilarious that the only time they're shown to be remotely effective is when literally anyone but the military controls them

Blake & Qrow
I watch a lot of RWBY reaction videos. It's one of my favorite pass times and I've noticed an interesting contrast in the way people react to Blake and Qrow's storylines in RWBY. People will often express frustration with Blake's arc in volume 4, while showing sympathy towards Qrow's struggles with his semblance. Despite the fact that both these characters have a similar theme of self-isolation that the show portrays as harmful.
The similarities between Raven and Blake is something that everyone had largely noticed. They are the Cowardly Lions of their respective teams who ran away out of fear. But the connections between Blake and Qrow largely went unnoticed until the volume 7 soundtrack.
Both Qrow and Blake are based on animals associated with bad luck, black cats for Blake and crows for Qrow, which is reflective of how they perceive themselves. Harbingers of misfortune that bring pain and suffering upon their loved ways by merely existing. This toxic and damaging mindset caused them both to isolate themselves to avoid causing harm.
They each have their own reasons between their their isolation. Blake ran away because of Adam. I mean he literally threatened to kill all of her loved ones to her face right before cutting off the arm of one of her best friends/teammates. Qrow keeps away from others because his semblance brings misfortune upon those around him.
Neither of these reasons are any more or less vaild then the other. So I find the different reactions to them stange, to say the least. But you know what do I know?

rwby fans really are a different breed huh
imply the show could be improved in any way and they'll get on your case telling you that you're actually a hater if you don't just swallow whole the hot garbage mess that shawcross and luna pull out of their butts when writing a season because they didn't plan out the show from the start and just make it up as they go.
and to all the people who say "whaaat of course they planned it out from the start you just don't understand their vision" you're right about one thing, I don't understand their vision but I don't think they do either. In the Volume 3 Commentary video, it's said that Monty only came up with the Maidens after Volume 2. The Maidens that proceeded to become the driving plot point for the rest of the series to this day didn't exist in anyone's plans when writing the show at the start. Not satisfied? How about the fact that Neo wasn't written in until volume 2 because Monty decided that Torchwick needed a henchman. Neo had like ten minutes of screentime pre-volume 6 but became one of the most popular characters so they decided to make her a major antagonist, even the main antagonist of volume 9. That DEFINITELY wasn't planned before the show started.
I think the show could have been so much better if the plot was planned out from the start and honestly a reboot feels like the way to go to me. Too many times, the writers feel like they're not writing to actually tell a good story but instead they're writing to try and get a reaction out of people. Looking at you, bumblebee. Blake and Yang had one (1) interaction in Volume 2. In Volume 3, Blake runs away at the end as isn't reunited with team rwby until the end of volume 5... but somehow by volume 6 they've somehow become a thing? Literally just shawcross and luna seeing bumblebee being a popular ship in the fndm and going "here you go guys! enjoy!"
It seems like their goal when writing is just to make the audience do this meme

"Whoa, bumblebee! These two characters are canon now and they totally interacted beforehand!"
or alternatively, "Whoa, Neo/Penny is back!"
I could make an entire other post about all the lost potential they had with the plot points that had been set up. Penny the robot girl is killed in volume 3 but surprise she's back in volume 7! That's not an issue per se but imagine the juicy angst steak if Penny's memory had to be wiped or rebooted because they essentially made a new Penny (being a destroyed robot and all) and so she'd forgotted Ruby, her only friend and Ruby thinks she knows Penny but this Penny is essentially a different person. But nope, Penny remembers everything and is a superhero now or something.
Oh and don't even get me started on World of Remnant. If your show can't explain your own lore in a way that isn't making separate lore videos to try and make your world make sense, there's a problem there.
I think this post is long enough though so I'm just gonna leave it at this: I used to really enjoy the show but as it went on the bad writing became harder and harder to ignore and I think the show would greatly benefit from a reboot because nothing of great value would be lost if they never finished the current series. The show had some really good ingredients but the cooks tried too hard to make something unique and ended up with something "technically edible" but not really all that tasty (and fans will insist it was perfect how dare you say anything bad about it but oops there I go looping back round)

Wolf Faunus Weiss AU (part 8)
Yang walked out of the bar as it caught fire behind her. This was the third so far and still no trace of Weiss. She wasn't too worried about her safety, as she trusted she could take care of herself. But disappearing like this wasn't normal either.
She took out her scroll to check on the next closest bar to ask around, when a message pinged in. It was from Blake, telling her they had found Weiss and that she was okay, but also that they needed her back at Beacon.
Without a second to spare, she hopped on her motorbike and drove back to the academy, happy they'd found Weiss but intrigued.
Once back at the dorm, the scene only brought up further questions.
Weiss was sitting on her bed, while Blake and Ruby were sitting on the oposite one. They looked fine, if a bit exhausted, but the tension was clear. Plus, for some reason, Weiss was wearing the same black bow as Blake's.
"Hi girls, everything okay?" Yang asked cheerfully.
"Yes, Yang," Weiss replied, breathing in and sighing. "Please, do sit down. I have a... confession to make."
A confession? that was definitely not in Yang's mind when she pondered what could have been they needed her for. She sat between Blake and Ruby, caressing her sister's shoulder but enjoying the closeness to her other friend too.
"Welp, Weiss, lay it onto us."
In response, Weiss took a deep breath.
After the fight with the grimms, she's been thinking about this moment. Acting and reenacting in her head what to say, how to react, even trying to get ahead and predict how Ruby and Yang would respond each individually, and what to say to them. Trying her best to stay at least two moves ahead.
But she still didn't know how to even start.
"The matter is that," she began, deciding to push herself into it. "When I woke up this morning..." No, that wasn't working either. She tried to hold her gaze up to her friends, but her fist clenched by themselves.
"Ah, to hell with it." Weiss reached up and undid the black bow Blake tied for her, revealing her new wolf faunus ears.
Blake was the first to show any reaction, sighing at her friend's rush, but smiling she could finally get it out of her chest. Next to her, Yang and Ruby looked as if a thunder had struck them for a second before either of the sister said anything.
"So," Yang started. "You were a faunus this whole time?" She tried to sound as casual as possible, but her confusion was clear.
"Not that I knew of," Weiss replied, clamer now the secret was out. "I literally woke up this morning with... these," she pointed at the top of her head, shrugging. "Then I ran off because I had no idea of how to deal with it until Blake found me." She tried to smile, but she was getting worried that Ruby wasn't--
"Oh my gosh, you look adorable!" And there she was.
"Uh, thank you?" Weiss replied, not sure if this was the reaction she expected. She couldn't help but blush, as her ears were pointed forward, at Ruby's dumb-yet-adorably smiling at her.
"So, Weiss," Yang came to her rescue. "Do you plan on coming out to the rest of the academy?"
"I honestly don't know," Weiss ears perked up at Yang, as if trying to focus on anything but Ruby. "I mean, I guess I should."
"No, you shouldn't." Blake interjected. "It's your body, your life, so your decision only."
"And no matter what," Ruby chirped in, also blushing a bit. "We're behind you one hundred percent."
"Yeah," Yang finished, leaning over and hitting her palm.
"Ah, thank you, guys." Weiss felt as if her entire body was released from an enormous weight. She was so ready for resistance and scrutiny. But instead, her friends showed nothing but support.
She got up and hugged them all together.
"You are helping me get a white bow, right?" Weiss asked. "Black is really not working out for me," she side-eyed Blake. "No offense."
"None taken," Blake nodded.
[Part 1], [Part 2], [Part 3], [Part 4], [Part 5], [Part 6], [Part 7], [Part 8], [Part 0]
--
AN: Yeah, this is probably the last part. Overall, the whole "Weiss discovers she's a faunus" was the original idea. I have some concepts in the back of my head, like how and why, as well as future developments like Team JNPR and the rest of Beacon finding out (Ozpin already knows, of course).
But those are probably come out less frequently or linearly.
One final thanks to you all for reading. See you in the next one.

Do you ship it?

reason under the cut!
Most obvious times Avon showed he was obsessed with Blake:
1. The inexcusable rescue of the two people who might have stopped him taking over the Liberator in episode 4. In fact, his 'automatic reaction' is always to save Blake.
2. Duel - esp: 'I have never understood why it should be necessary to become irrational in order to prove that you care, or, indeed, why it should be necessary to prove it at all.'
3. All of series 2, literally all of it, except the Robert Holmes episodes. Let's not pick particularly relevant moments, as there are too many and we'll be here all day, but I think the most relevant of all the relevant parts is: 'I want to be free of him' (surely just another way of saying 'I wish I knew how to quit you,' like a gay cowboy)... and if we're doing ‘Star One’, let's also have: Avon's face when Blake says he's always trusted him. (Please note that having to choose just one moment episode from series 2 means I've had to ignore 'Redemption', which has not one, but two 'Oh dear, I fell on you in a heroic manner' moments.)
4. ‘TERMINAL’
5. The final episode.

So I’m rewatching some MCU movies and I just thought of something that could be pretty freaking cool to write.
Imagine this convo:
“The cell was just in case-“
“In case you needed to kill me. But you can’t. I know, I tried.”
With any the reaction of the following characters in an x reader:
1. Thomas (maze runner)
2. Newt (maze runner)
3. Gally (maze runner)
4. Minho (maze runner)
5. Basically any MCU character
6. Spencer Reid
7. Bellamy Blake
8. Jake Dawkins
9. Steve Harrington
10. Finnick Odair
11. Damon Salvatore
12. Klaus
There are many more characters that would fit a plot where the reader says Hulk’s line and the character reacts to it. I just can’t think of all of them, so please tell me your thoughts and if you think of anymore characters.
I would so read this story, but I can’t find any with this plot and I’ve hit my lazy writing arc 😭

One of the things I hugely enjoyed this year was the Babylon 5 (re)watch organised by @babylon-5-lurkers.
There's no convenient anniversary to peg it to, but in 2025, would there be any interest in doing something similar for Blake's 7? Watching from the start, one episode per week, sharing live reactions?
