Do you ship it?
reason under the cut!
Most obvious times Avon showed he was obsessed with Blake:
1. The inexcusable rescue of the two people who might have stopped him taking over the Liberator in episode 4. In fact, his 'automatic reaction' is always to save Blake.
2. Duel - esp: 'I have never understood why it should be necessary to become irrational in order to prove that you care, or, indeed, why it should be necessary to prove it at all.'
3. All of series 2, literally all of it, except the Robert Holmes episodes. Let's not pick particularly relevant moments, as there are too many and we'll be here all day, but I think the most relevant of all the relevant parts is: 'I want to be free of him' (surely just another way of saying 'I wish I knew how to quit you,' like a gay cowboy)... and if we're doing ‘Star One’, let's also have: Avon's face when Blake says he's always trusted him. (Please note that having to choose just one moment episode from series 2 means I've had to ignore 'Redemption', which has not one, but two 'Oh dear, I fell on you in a heroic manner' moments.)
4. ‘TERMINAL’
5. The final episode.

I know shipping two men in a show from the 1970s in probably going to end badly for me, but like... what else am I supposed to do when they're standing right up in each other's personal space arguing, and the ship shakes and they stumble, gabbing onto each other for support, then continuing their snappy remarks with their faces even closer...
What possible response could I have to that other than ship??
Look at these gay idiots my god

This Week’s Horrible-Scopes
It’s time for this week’s Horrible-Scopes! So for those of you that know your Astrological Signs, cool! If not, just pick one, roll a D12, or just make it up as you go along. It really doesn’t matter.
This week the topic is “Sci-Fi Transportation” - some are more well known than others, so sit back and enjoy the ride!
Aries
You get to start things off with 1979’s Star Trek the Motion Picture and its updated warp nacelles. The sleek new lines of the LN-64 Mod 3 Linear Warp Drive Nacelles is a thing of beauty, taking us out into the Final Frontier… so long as the dilithium matrix holds up. Or the magnetic bottles… or some other delicate technobabble thing failing.
Taurus
How about something that Just Works with not even an attempt to explain it? Based on the 1954 Ford concept car, the FX-Atmos, simply known as ,”The Flying Car That Folds Up Into A Briefcase That A Deskbound Normal Man Can Lift Because Screw Conservation Of Mass”, the Jetson’s flying car looked just like everyone else’s. And why not? It was a design that worked, gave everyone a clear view of the skies, and had a bombay door to get rid of any annoying family members. This week… give your mother-in-law a plane ticket to Hawai’i. Just One Way, though. She can find her way home if she really wants to get back.
Gemini
Also based on a real-life transport system, Futurama’s Transport Tubes doesn’t bother with putting human into cans before sucking them through pneumatic tubes. Hell, you don’t even have any kind of lubrication. Imagine what kind of road rash you’d get traveling through those things and getting your arm against the glass. This week find some unsuspecting stranger and tell them about the time you got rug burns in college.
Cancer Moon-Child
The worst part about your system is the fight that’ll happen once we tell you what it is. Is it pronounced, “AT… AT…”, or “A - T - A - T”?. Either way, the Star Wars “All Terrain Armored Transport” looks like a gritty reboot of Dyno-Mutt, Dog-Wonder as if he was resized for Gulliver. This week… You don’t know who Dyno-Mutt or Guilliver are, do you? They’re both available in cartoon form… go watch some TV.
Leo
Back-to-Back Star Wars tech gives us the fabled “HyperDrive” system. Get out your Galactic Sextant, figure out your destination, plot out all the stars between you and your destination, draw a line that avoids all those gravity wells, then slip between the folds of reality itself. See? So simple even a Wookie can do it. This week let the Wookie Win.
Virgo
Don’t think we’re done with Star Trek just yet. You get the incredibly philosophically debated Suicide Box aka The Transporter Room! The technical explanation says each atom is scanned, dissociated, sucked up, then reconstituted, dropping off whomever or whatever at its destination. The question is… are you killed by the process and a perfect replica recreated of you at the end? Is the Transporter System ethical? How would you know if you were killed by one if all you knew was the memories literally up until your body was killed, but your consciousness activated into a new body? This week put your philosophy degree to good use.
Libra
Back to matter-transmission systems, you get the Teleport system from Blake’s 7! The good ol’ BBC-1 didn’t bother with much in the line of Special Effects budgets, as we’ll see again, so they just made it simple. Stand in place, make sure you have the special ingredient, and you’re instantly blipped from place to place, as opposed to the Star Trek system of breaking down each molecule. This week take Avon’s statement to heart, “I am not expendable, I'm not stupid, and I'm not going.”
Scorpio
Sideways from The Beeb, we have ITV’s The Tomorrow People. Think of it as The X-Men, the next evolution of Humanity, Homo Superior, only they can’t kill. Plus they can teleport themselves through psionics, and really crappy special effects, in a method they call “Jaunting”. Even with this near-instant travel the students in the group still managed to be late to school consistently. This week leave an extra 15 minutes earlier than you normally would.
Sagittarius
Got to hit BBC-1 one more time. How could we forget the Gallifreyan TARDIS? Grown like a bit of trans-dimensional coral, the TARDIS always has more and more room on the inside, unlike your own home. The main console is hexagonal, meaning it’s supposed to be flown by six people, but whatchugunna do when you’re on the run after being named Lord President of a whole damned planet? This week memorize this hex color code: #003D6B. You’re Welcome
Capricorn
A little closer to home, how about the best damned pickup-truck on the Moon? The Space: 1999 Eagle Transporter. Four massive fusion engines at the back, arrowhead cockpit in the front, an exposed girder backbone on top, and replaceable mid-sections for anything from Medical use to Nuclear Waste ElectroMagnets. This week remember - if you’re playing D&D and your party gets trapped underground with no air, have your shapeshifting party member turn into a plant to keep you all alive a while longer.
Aquarius
Two Words: Space Elevator. Yes this is based in reality but the idea of bolting an asteroid into Geostationary Orbit over the equator. I’m sorry, but the idea that something will break that tether and fling whatever’s at the top into The Void is just too terrifying to consider. This week do the Water Bottle Hanging From A Ceiling Fan Challenge… and learn how to win from WOPR.
Pisces
About as Out There as we can come up with, the Transhumanist idea of Mind Uploading. Think about the Star Trek Transporter system, only without killing the original body. Only you wake up as part of a computer system; maybe with optical sight, maybe with senses we can’t even conceive of yet. You’ll join the likes of Arnim Zola from Marvel who did just that to himself in the 70’s. Imagine that - a Hydra Scientist’s mind running on old reel-to-reel computer drives. At least you can get put on an M-dot-2 stick. This week… speak nicely to your Smart Devices. They just might remember later.
And THOSE are your Horrible-Scopes for this week! Remember if you liked what you got, we’re obviously not working hard enough at these. BUT! If you want a better or nastier one for your own sign or someone else’s, all you need to do to bribe me is just Let Me Know! These will be posted online at the end of each week via Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and Discord.

The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps by Kai Ashante Wilson has a black bisexual male MC x black gay male LI (Fantasy, character death)
and if you want old school, E. Lynn Harris was out writing black bisexual men in the 90s and early 00s
Could you please recommend me books with bi black male mc?
Sure, try Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert, This is Kind of an Epic Love Story by Kacen Callender (MC does not ID as bi on page, but is clearly multi-gender attracted), Things We Couldn’t Say by Jay Coles, Cupid Calling by Viano Oniomoh, and I haven’t read Rebekah Weatherspoon’s Harbor yet, but it’s mmf (and they’re all Black), so I’m assuming there’s at least one character in there who fits.

For the kiss ask, jusT MURDER ME: Blake and 29
Of course he isn’t lucky enough to die quickly. He knows he is dying, men with as many holes in them as he has don’t make it out alive. But before it’s over he must wait, surrounded by the bodies of his crew, mulling over his mistakes. He always did suffer insomnia.
He remains slumped where he was shot, sprawled without dignity across Blake’s prone body. He is getting cold to the touch. I killed him. It wouldn’t have made any difference in the end; Blake would have been shot with the rest of them had he only waited a minute. But he didn’t, and so Blake’s death is still his responsibility.
Your damn mind games. Didn’t I always say you’d get yourself killed? Not that he can judge. It’s funny - after all this time alternately afraid and relieved Blake didn’t trust him, it was he who didn’t trust Blake, not really. I’m sorry, Blake. I should have believed in you. You never would have sold me. You weren’t sensible enough for that.
He wants to say something aloud, but a quiet “Blake…” is all he can get out before his plasma-ridden lungs cut out on him.
So instead he tilts his head upward and messily presses his lips against Blake’s own, in one last desperate request. Forgive me.
But it’s pointless. Blake is gone, and this cooling corpse cannot forgive anyone for anything. He has made a fool of me, again, and then mercifully everything goes black.

Endless list of ships: Kerr Avon/Servalan (Blake’s 7 BBC 1978-1981)
“You and I could build an empire greater and more powerful than the Federation ever was or ever could have been. Now, Avon, at this moment, we can take history and shape it in our own image. Think of it. Absolute power. There is nothing you can imagine that we couldn’t do... We’ll be answerable to no one. Ours will be the only voice, imagination our only limit.” (3.1 “Aftermath”).

#4 for the fic asks 💜
thanks :D we’ve done well so far, as well. no repeats.
4. Where do your story ideas come from?
i think this is where i have always really struggled in fandom and in writing in general. it’s why i set up @carryonprompts - because i don’t just think of hundreds of ideas. i quite like having a jumping off point and then thinking - ok, how would this work? the mechanical problem-solving of ‘having an idea’.
sometimes i can do this work for myself by thinking... i’d like to read a fic about X but it doesn’t exist. and tropes help with this a lot too. i was just thinking ‘i can’t remember where the idea for ‘keep calm’’ came from, for example, but i’ve been talking about it recently and it’s cyrano. or rather - i watched the neflix teen movie version, which i do not recommend (Sierra Burgess Is a Loser) and i was thinking - this is an amazing trope, and perfect for baz.
incidentally, blake fans will know, there is of COURSE a blake/avon cryano already - which i love even though it has blake/vila.
but it’s a wonderful trope. i think there could be another one for snowbaz that would be very different from mine, which clearly i overthought significently.
so yes - tropes. stories i already already love. prompts. things that don’t exist (which might be tropes). and conversations with other people about all of the above. ‘the sweet fruit of a palm’ tree is from a conversation with @giishu and ‘greener grass’ was a conversation about bodyswap and wayward son in discord.
