Character ask thingie, a Legend of your choosing but you must answer ALL the questions
This is DERANGED. But I respect it, and I will do it (the questions for this ask game are here, feel free to send an ask in)
I am of course going to pick Zari Tarazi, because why the hell not
1. My first impression of them
I was deeply confused because I first watched Legends out of order and out of context, but I did love her pretty much immediately
2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them)
Immediately
3. A song that reminds me of them
IT GIRL by Aliyah's Interlude
4. How many people I ship them with
Let me count real quick... 3 or 4 (don't ask questions)
5. My favourite ship of them
I really like her and Charlie
6. My least favourite ship of them
Her and John. It's fine I guess, but I'm not that bothered
7. A quote of them that you remember
"I was just doing a runway turn ☺️"
8. Your favourite outfit of them
Yeah I'm not picking, when she looks good, she looks good
9. Your least favourite outfit of them
When she got high in season 7 (real rock bottom for her)
10. Describe the character in one sentence
Icon of all time, but severely down to earth beneath it all
11. What's the first thing you think about when thinking about the character?
How vibrant she is
12. Sexuality hc
I don't think she uses labels, but I don't think she's straight
13. Your favourite friendship they have
Her and Ava will always be so brilliant
14. Best storyline they had
Her moving away from her very vapid persona and becoming more grounded. That or the Speakeasy episode
15. Worst storyline they had
Why did she give up the totem like who asked for that
16. A childhood headcanon
She was really into Scooby Doo before she was famous
17. What do you think their first word was?
Probably Mama
18. How do you think they were as a kid?
Deeply kind
19. The most random ship you've seen people have them with
... No comment ( @sideguitars you will pay for your crimes) (just kidding)
20. A weird headcanon
She reads classic novels in her downtime
21. When do you think they were at their happiest?
When her Z1 and Behrad were all in the timeline at the end of S5 after he came back to life and the world was saved, but before B started like dying and stuff
22. When do you think they were at their lowest?
Right after she found out Behrad died
23. Future headcanon
She does a deep dive into the totems history in her family
24. What do you think is a secret that they have never told anyone?
Probably that she has major stage fright
25. When do you think they acted the most ooc
Giving up the totem at the end of S7 (seriously who asked for this)
26. When do you think they were being "themselves" the most
After Behrad died and her determination to bring him back cancelled out her persona for a while. She was still on her girlboss shit, but she had focus and drive, and no time for bullshit
27. If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc, who would be the most fun for them to meet?
Daphne Blake. They'd break the slay-ometer
28. The most unnecessary thing they ever did?
Give up the totem (I'm so upset about this, can you tell?)
29. How do you think they would be as a parent?
I don't think that's for her, but if she was one she'd be the parent who says "you can be anything you want to be" and makes it happen
30. The funniest scene they had?
In S5 when z1 is trying to hack the loom and z2 just. Unplugs it. The popping into frame, the pause before she does it, her little fucking smile, the contrast with Z1. Perfection.

Second Chance
Status: In Progress , On Hiatus
This is a High School Musical: The Musical: The Series fanfiction that follows Blake Sahan alongside her childhood best friend and first love, Ricky Bowen.
This series loosely follows the plot of the show, each chapter being based on every episode. A few notes:
Blake Sahan's faceclaim is Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
Timeline might be a lil wonky at times, but I tried my darndest to get it right (also might not be perfectly aligned with the show)
There will be a few differences in this series from the show to fit the new storylines.
Some differences include: Gina doesn't fall for Ricky, Ricky and his dad don't move out, and more.
Ricky Bowen has Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), though it's unknown at first.
Blake has BPD, pre-established.
Disclaimer: All BPD storylines are loosely inspired by my own personal experiences! (beautiful princess disorder sol xoxo)
Also, this series will involve cursing. I don't care. #Let Ricky Bowen Say Fuck! (and they did! hehe thank you s4 writers)
There's gonna be A LOT of those cheesy/cliche tropes and I'm not even sorry.
childhood best friends to lovers
falls first x falls harder
hurt/comfort
one-sided pining
mutual pining
I will add trigger warnings specific for each chapter, but here are some general trigger warnings for this series:
Alcoholism
Addiction
Mental health (mainly Borderline Personality Disorder)
Toxic relationships
Poor relationship with parent / absent father
Death of parent
Occasionally some adult themes

You know, I just saw a post supporting the writer's strike and saying there are plenty of old shows to watch... and it occurred to me that it might be good to share some shows we love just in case people haven't seen them yet.
Places that make it easy to find where to watch things: Reelgood and JustWatch. Check both, they sometimes conflict, get it wrong, etc.
My Recs (in hopes others will add) (admittedly the low hanging fruit):
The X-Files, 1993, 11 Seasons, free on freevee, available on Hulu, can rent or buy other places. If you haven't seen X-Files, you're missing out. It was a smash hit in the 90's for a good reason. Two detectives, a believer and a skeptic, try to solve unsolvable mysteries in the midst of grand conspiracy. And find, somehow, that as much as they annoy each other, they need each other.
Babylon 5, 1993 / 1994, 5 Seasons, free on Roku and Tubi. An Epic Space Opera that never quite got the success it deserved. It is one of those things whose influence is written all over modern sci-fi and fantasy without much acknowledgement. This is the interplay of empires and mythology, double dealing and political cruelty.
SPACE: 1999, 1975, 2 seasons, free on Crackle, Peacock, Fubo, Pluto, Freevee, Plex, Shout, and Roku. I dare you to listen to the theme song and not feel the groove of this classic campy space opera. When Earth's moon is ejected from orbit to hurtle through the galaxy, the people of Moonbase Alpha have to confront new alien weirdness every week. Part of what makes it so good is that the show takes itself completely seriously, there's no wink and nod in here.
Kindred: The Embraced, 1996, 1 Season, available as a slime tutorial. It's Vampire: The Masquerade as a cheesy soap opera. There are constant reminders of what the clans are like in the most pointed, ridiculous dialogue you can imagine. Had the lead actor not died, this show might have found its place in a couple of more seasons, as it is, it is deliciously campy and dumb. Days of our LARP.
Profit, 1996, 1 Season, available as a slime tutorial. What if the Antagonist was the Main Character. Profit was ahead of its time. It would be right at home in the modern streaming era but it absolutely didn't fit in its own day and age. Profit is dark and twisted (For people who follow me, see if you can find an early inspirations for JJ) with mature and uncomfortable themes. One of its benefits is that it was network televison, so it couldn't show all the gratuitous violence and sex that it would be given if it was made today. It's psychological violence and murder off screen, which, if you let yourself get into it, can grow into worse things than can be shown. Profit is about power, greed, and ruthlessness and what happens when someone even more ruthless and immoral than you shows up.
Farscape, 1999, 4 seasons and a TV movie, available for free on crackle, peacock, popcornflix, shout, freevee, pluto, roku, and tubi. In spite of my picture, this is live action space opera, but it is looney tunes, literally in one episode. This is what happens when the Jim Henson company decides to make a space opera as far away from Star Trek as possible. It's zany, over the top, sometimes hilarious, often creepy, and there's only one human who is far out of his depth.
Blake's 7, 1978, 4 seasons, available on BritBox, and you should be able to find all of it with a little searching on youtube. Like Farscape, this show focuses on escaped prisoners but when they find an advanced spacecraft, they decide to become freedom fighters against their fascist regime instead of just trying to escape. Darker than most of what you could find on US tv until fairly recently. These are wounded people in hostile space.
The Outer Limits, 1995, 7 seasons. Free on Roku. This is a sci-fi anthology series. Some episodes are more interesting and thought provoking than others but overall a lot of good stories.
There are now 12 series with 44 seasons between them totaling up to 880 episodes of Star Trek. That's about 3 months straight of 24 hour programming if you ran it back to back with no pauses at all. That's a lot of show. Mostly on Paramount+ but it's probably not terribly difficult to find the material less officially. It may not all be your cup of earl grey but there's a lot to try out to see if you like it.
1899, 2022, 1 season (cancelled), available on Netflix or wherever else one finds shows. This is my only modern show because I know it didn't get a lot of viewership in spite of being brilliantly twisty. 1899 is one of those shows that it is very hard to talk about without spoilers. I think it is however immediately obvious that the cruise ship Kerebos, en route to New York, is not at all in the situation it appears to be in. It is magnificently multilingual with the ability to communicate when you can't speak each other's language front and center in the narrative. It's sadly cancelled and the creators are on record that they don't want to finish it in another medium so we'll never know exactly what happened but there is wonder to be had from this first season.
Magnum P.I., 1980, 8 seasons. Free on freevee and Roku. 1 season available with Amazon Prime, rest for rent or purchase. Mix a lovable goofball naval vet with PTSD and a very stiff necked British curmudgeon vet with PTSD and you get a fun mystery every week in paradise. Magnum shrugs off most of his work and pawns it on to his friends getting by on charm and some wit.
Murder, She Wrote, 1984, 12 seasons. All available for free on Roku. 6 seasons available for free on freevee. Note that one of the primary writers for Murder, She Wrote was J. Michael Straczynski, this is the job that got him the ability to make Babylon 5. Jessica Fletcher is a charming and clever lady who has retired to the placid sea side village of Cabot Cove to write mystery novels but somehow always ends up at murder scenes. It has been estimated that if Cabot Cove was real, it would be the murder capital of the US.
Tales from the Crypt, 1989, 7 seasons, available as a slime tutorial. To get it to lucky number 13, I present another great anthology show. Every episode a different tale of the macabre or horrific. The crypt keeper is a charmingly gruesome host and there are a few episodes that have stuck with me since I first saw them in the 90's.
Hopefully one among these number can fulfill your needs and if not, hopefully someone else will tack on a few more. I know I left out plenty of my own favorites. There's lots to see while your current faves are on hiatus. There might be a brand new fandom waiting for you.

The Sunnydale Herald Newsletter, Saturday, May 11th
ANYA: The rapid reproductive rate of our rabbits... has given me an idea. I can give the excess out to the townspeople, exchanging them not for goods or services, but for goodwill and the sense of accomplishment that stems from selflessly giving of yourself to others. OLAF: Ha, ha, ha! Sweet Aud! Your logic is insane and happenstance, like that of a troll. It is no wonder that the bar matrons talk of you.

yes !! i love judging stuff lmao
season 7 the whole original fam is together, everyone's in their hot era, nothing too traumatic happens, and there are lots of family moments
season 11 tara !! the queen arrives, entropy episode <333, the last episode as well as Morgan's episodes are sad, but i love the suspense of the whole season
season 9 mommy alex blake. sort of like season 8 but with less trauma, and i love the two-parter
season 1 everyone is so baby and the episodes are amazing
season 10 i love kate and there's some adorable cm family scenes
season 4 love the family being together, little bit traumatic, also has my favorite episode minimal loss
season 14 love 300 with all my heart and omg does this season have drama or what. there's Luke's episode, 300, truth or dare, chameleon
season 15 it's got date night and other people might hate it, but i don't
season 8 trauma for poor Spencer, but there are some good episodes
season 12 drama !! i live for drama and this season bring it
season 13 never really stuck out to me, except for the last episode
season 3 sad because Gideon leaves and traumatized spencer, but i love rossi and the team is solid
season 2 aw poor spencer, it just makes me so sad and elle leaving as well :((
season 6 sadness. JJ goes then Emily dies, Spencer has random headaches. and i hate Seaver so much omg
season 5 i'm sorry it is just too sad that it has to rank last. haley's death is the saddest thing that happens in the whole show

》 General Info 《
The story will take place in a fictional city called Devil Town set somewhere in the US.
Some terms are tossed around a lot that I've gotten questions about in the past, which I will explain in this section!!
Unnaturals - Unnaturals are classified as anyone with abilities/powers, or just simply aren't Human. Most of the LDT cast consists of Unnaturals, for example: The main 4, Button, etc. There are thousands of different kinds of Unnaturals, all with their own abilities. Some abilities overlap, like Arsonists [ex. Stitches] and Flare Elementals [ex. Vanny], but are considered to be separate categories depending on strength over their ability [While Stitches is only able to summon flames, Vanny is also able to control existing flames and direct them far easier than Stitch can]
Banned Unnaturals - This is a list of certain Unnaturals and their abilities that The Jury have deemed too dangerous to be allowed in the public. The list ranges from abilities that can get you arrested for being shown off to abilities that will get you publicly executed as a reminder of what will happen if you don't obey. The current Jury aren't too fond of that last option, some members wanting to remove it completely and rewrite the laws, but are unable to as it's the only thing preventing people against Unnaturals from having a full on riot and destroying what little Devil Town has.
Cursed Unnaturals - A category of Unnaturals that don't occur genetically/naturally [hehe]. Instead it's a forceful ability cast upon someone, and something they, in most cases, cannot control. This isn't limited to Unnaturals, some humans can also be cursed - thus making them classified as an Unnatural once cursed.
Souls - The very life essence of a person, Human or Unnatural. A person, in most cases, cannot live without their soul. It's what makes them who they are, their very being in a form of hidden light that only Unnaturals with abilities linked to souls can see.
Hosts - A person's body, what souls will link onto to create life.
Souleaters - Souleaters are considered part of the Cursed category of Unnaturals, a curse that makes the recipient require the souls of people to stay in control of their hosts. They have two states: The Dormant state, where they've been successful in consuming souls and keeping control. And the Starvation state, a monstrous form hellbent on consuming as many souls as possible - though reaching this state means the souls they take will never be enough, because as far as anybody knows, a Souleater cannot return from their Starvation. They are on the Banned Unnaturals list under the Execution section.
》 Groups/Group Roles 《
Dollhouse Inc
Dollhouse consists of Lucid, Puppet, Stitches, and Dolly [and Ghoul but. she's a cat. so-]. They work alongside OAC Afterhours, aka Oxyne's secret mercenary side business. Lucid provides new souls in the form of Living Dolls for Oxyne to convert into clowns when the old ones fail, and Oxyne pays for the warehouse Dollhouse currently lives in.
While Lucid is considered the “Leader” of the group, there's not actually a specified order amongst them - they can do what they like, they just tend to look to Lucid for guidance on missions.
Oxyne's Abnormal Circus
OAC consists of Oxyne, Ainsley, Tiny, and Button, along with various other background circus characters. The circus was a project Oxyne started with the help of Vanny and Merlin to bring attention to the wondrous side of Unnaturals and their abilities, making her a very prominent figure in Devil Town.
Roles
Oxyne - Ringleader, Oxyne is the mastermind behind the Circus. She's completely in control, both because she's the boss and because she can literally mind control her troop if she wants.
Ainsley: Fire breather/Acrobat, Ainsley is both Oxyne's right hand and one of the most well known acts of the Circus. They do various tricks involving flames along with flinging herself through the air and various flaming hoops to wow their audience. Sometimes Stitch will join in to help Ainsley with their act, providing the fire she uses.
Tiny: Strongman, pretty sure this one speaks for itself. Tiny likes to show off just how much that big ass hook arm of his can handle, often testing his limits on stage of how powerful it really is and taking audience suggestions for what materials he can or can't slice through [spoiler: most of the time he can]
Button: Contortionist/Clown, being a Living Doll allows Button to twist and bend in inhuman ways that is both amusing and slightly horrifying to witness in the ring - but the audience enjoys themselves anyway. It also performs as the lead clown when those acts are going on.
Alsifur's Mythics Shop & Stage Tricks
AMSST consists of Vanny and Moss only, selling various mystical items having to do with Unnaturals and such. Kinda like a magic store but with actual magic in it. It was the first thing Vanny was able to do after being freed from her family, and she's very proud of her business. She also offers personal lessons to young Unnaturals struggling with control of their abilities, Dolly being one of her primary students.
The Jury
The Jury consists of Merlin, Roman, Kanary, Seren, and [despite never being seen by the public] Cosmos. They act as the elected leaders of Devil Town, keeping the city in check and making sure things stay peaceful between Humans and Unnaturals. They're also the ones that uphold the Banned Unnaturals list as a way to keep the peace between the two, restricting which Unnaturals can publicly use their abilities, which will be arrested if they do, and which will be executed if found.

Blue Moon - Masterlist
((Aesthetic by the amazing @trexrambling!!))
A/N: So. This happened. Haha! I hope you guys like it! Took care of two prompts. I contemplated making this a one shot, but just decided to let it be long and multi part. It took on a life of it’s own. Based off of this prompt and this prompt. It ended up being one of those that follows along with the episodes (from the requested 3x4-on to the end of the season 3A) but not in a direct insert way, more of a “if this character was in the series, this would have happened off screen”, etc. so it’s not directly inserting into the episodes. (Also I feel I should mention, Derek feels a little OOC to me, but I think that’s just how I wrote him “brainwashed” like the request. And I think I did this on purpose so that when they meet up in the end, they can be as snarky and sassy and (our beloved) Sourwolfy as possible. 😆)
I do not own Teen Wolf or it’s characters. Sadly.
Thank you to @wheresthekillswitch @xteenwolfwritingsx @mymonandsymon @jazziwritesthings and the amazing @trexrambling (who is writing an amazing Dylan x Reader that I love and you should all read) for looking this over for me! (and the latter for helping with my sleep deprivation grammar and autocorrect from hell’s typos (I swear they’re not mine😬).)
Warnings: Some language. Typical show violence, mention of severe bleeding, (the scene where the Alpha pack sticks the piece of pipe in Derek in the episode mentioned in the request), mention of passed characters. Mention of implied death/assumed death. Character death canon with the show. Mostly just fluff, though.
Word count: Pending (24,988 and counting.)
Newest to the pack, Y/N is still learning the ropes under the watchful eye of her mentor and current roommate, Derek. Things take a turn for the worse when Jennifer Blake comes into the picture and has Derek acting completely out of character. With unease settling in her gut and her instincts pulling her in different directions, not to mention the quick approach of the full moon, Y/N tries to sort through the whole mess, searching for light at the end of the tunnel. But it just seems like wishful thinking, something that would only happen once in a blue moon.
(Updated as of 03/01/2022. Number of parts may change, as I am still writing the story, but it’s already over 10k+, so I figured it’s okay to start uploading it.)

Octavia as The 100′s Jesus Figure, Part 4: Bardo, The Crucifixion and Second Coming of Octavia Blake
So we’re back for a fourth part of this series, which I started after season 6, because wouldn’t you know it - there’s more to be said.
In Part 1, Origin Story and the Meeting of Two Saviours, I discussed Octavia’s origin story as the Dark Saviour and her relationship with the show’s other Saviour Lincoln, and how with his death he invested her with the mission to save all of their people.
In Part 2, Saving Humanity and the First Passion of Octavia Blake, I talked about Octavia finally accepting and understanding her mission as the Saviour, redeeming the sins of humanity, and her first Passion narrative, which was left incomplete, and thus she lived.
In Part 3, Planet Alpha and the Second Passion of Octavia Blake, I wrote about Octavia’s second Passion narrative on Planet Alpha, which led to her road to Golgotha at the Anomaly, from which she is resurrected (the Crucifixion narrative still remaining a mystery) and then meets those she knew once again, before her ascension as the Anomaly reclaimed her in the last seconds of the S6 finale.
So now, Part 4 - Here we will get into that missing Crucifixion narrative, as well as the events that come to pass with Octavia’s Second Coming, the Judgment of Humanity, and how things may have played out differently had it been Octavia who walked into the glowy ball of light instead of Cadogan, Clarke and Raven.
From Dark to Light
Before we return to that missing Crucifixion narrative, which takes place on Bardo, Octavia, along with Diyoza and Hope, land on a different planet for ten years. This planet also has its purpose in our Saviour narrative, because while the show starts on dark themes, and thus needed Octavia as a Dark Saviour, in season 7 it began to shift to a theme of light and transcendence.
Enter the appropriately named Penance.
Octavia spends ten years on Skyring/Penance/Planet Beta, healing from her pain and darkness, and thus is no longer the Dark Saviour the narrative needed her to be before to bring salvation to her people, now she can be the Light Saviour who will save all of humanity.
Her new demeanour - though I hesitate to say new because it was born of ten years of peace, plenty, family, and healing, it wasn’t new to her, merely to those who used to know her for whom time had been much shorter - is evidence of her new Light. It confuses many, because they hadn’t had the same time and healing as she had, but it is evident in every move she makes. Rather than the tornado of righteous fury that she used to be, now Octavia is the steady and calm voice of reason - to Echo, to Hope, and especially to Clarke.
But back to that crucifixion narrative.
Every Noble Crown will be a Crown of Thorns
Her peaceful world torn asunder, Octavia is taken to Bardo, and thrown into M-Cap at the first opportunity. Others have mentioned how the M-Cap headcap looks like a crown of thorns, and they’re quite right - this is where Octavia’s Crucifixion narrative comes to fruition. No one spends as much time in that crown of thorns as she does.
She fights it, at first, but when acceptance is what will provide salvation to her people (or person, in this case, being Hope), she accepts her fate and faces her past - brutal days of reliving her history as the Dark Saviour, to firmly close that chapter of her life (a symbolic death rather than just her regular baptism-rebirth cycle).
She’s freed from her crown of thorns when Hope comes. Hope, the symbol of her new Light, and the Light that she will carry with her as she returns to Sanctum to be resurrected among those she once knew, those who had believed her to be lost, but who dearly needed the Light she was to bring them.
Revelation and The Second Coming
There are a lot of different moving pieces involved in the apocalyptic scenarios of Revelation, and how these come to play in season 7 of The 100 isn’t any different. So let’s take a look at some of the other key players and how they connect to Octavia’s story.
The False Prophet, The Dragon and The Beast
Now, in my Part 3 of this series (written after the S6 finale), I predicted that Bellamy would have a large part in the revelation of Octavia’s Saviour narrative. Obviously, that part didn’t come to pass, because of Bob’s absence from the show, but you can still see hints within the narrative that suggest he would have been a part of it before Bob pulled out (most notably, the Hesperides flashback in 7x04 - this flashback is pretty pointless in the context of Hope telling Echo and Gabriel that story, but if you imagine Bellamy being there to hear about how his sister raised Hope in much the same way he raised her - then it becomes way more meaningful).
But the narrative as it played out also presents interesting Biblical allusions, by casting Bellamy in the role of false prophet, fighting on the side of the Beast (Cadogan), instead of on the side of Christ (his sister).
The false prophet is said to be the second beast to rise in Revelation 13, who has “two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon” (Revelation 13:11) who is given the authority to speak on behalf of the first Beast (Cadogan), to deceive the people so that they will worship this Beast. The false prophet having the appearance of a lamb is relevant here, because Jesus is often referred to as the Lamb of God - thus, the false prophet (Bellamy) resembles the true Saviour (Octavia), not coincidental since they are in fact siblings and thus do bear some physical resemblances.
So who is The Dragon - that is, Satan? It is easy to say that the Dragon is Sheidheda, for it is the Dragon who is imprisoned, only to be released to deceive and wage war before being finally defeated. But it goes deeper than that - The Dragon is the dark side of the Flame itself, Sheidheda’s only the last prophet of that darkness. It is the Flame that gives Cadogan, the Beast, the power he needs to rule over his people - the glimpse of the idea of Judgment Day as something for the Disciples to work towards - “The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority” (Revelation 13:2) - even when the good side of the Flame, the Humanity that Becca believed so vital, wanted to keep it from him.
The Children of the Kingdom of Heaven
Jesus says “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). Octavia’s always been tied to different children throughout The 100 narrative, first as the child herself, and then others such as Gavriel, Ethan, Madi, Rose and Hope. But the important children for the purpose of this post are the three that are the “next generation” so to speak of the leading trio of the show, and their important roles in the final battle.
There’s Jordan, the Head-centered, who takes over Clarke’s role as John the Baptist, the prophet who bore witness to the Light (Jesus) so that others would believe. His testimony shows that the Final War is instead a Test, and he’s instrumental in making sure that Octavia can stop the war and pass the test to grant humanity eternal life instead.
There’s Hope, the Heart-centered, who takes over Bellamy’s role as Saint Peter, the disciple who becomes the leader of the church after Jesus’ ascension. Hope is Octavia’s grounding force, her new rock, and her love gives her strength to continue her journey.
And then there’s Madi, the Soul-centered, who is Octavia’s next generation counterpart. It’s made clear from the start of Madi’s introduction in season 5 that Octavia is her favourite, that Octavia is the one she looked up to, and even in season 7, these parallels are there, as Madi is ready to sacrifice herself to save the others, and in more peaceful ways too, like when she’s hiding in the reactor with her two new friends, reminiscent of season 1 Octavia and her friendship with Monty and Jasper. Madi, too, meets her Crucifixion in the M-Cap chair, in an even crueler and more vicious manner than Octavia did. But when Octavia saves humanity, this liberates Madi’s soul and grants her eternal life as well.
I am the Way, The Truth and the Life
Wonkru falls apart in Octavia’s absence. There’s no other way to say it. Wonkru crumbling in 7x03 is made even more conspicuous by the fact that they don’t even mention Octavia, because they’re still denying her, despite everything she brought them. They don’t realize that she’s the one to save them all, they don’t realize that, as Jesus says, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 4:16) - something that they will finally come to understand in the climax of the final episode.
But it isn’t time for that story yet. First we must turn to Revelation to see what happens to Wonkru and the others on Sanctum while they’ve chosen to deny her and follow the Dragon and the Beast instead.
Here we see the different plagues that strike the unbelievers - both in Revelation 8-9 and 16.
The first to come are “ugly, festering sores [that] broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast” (Revelation 16:2) - the radiation sickness that is a marker of the broken nuclear reactor in 7x03, which claims as James as one of its first victims. If you don’t remember who he was while watching that episode, look back to 6x02, where he’s one of the people attacking Octavia in the Eligius IV mess hall. He breaks faith with her, and here suffers the consequences of that.
The second and third plagues speak of both the seas and the rivers turning to blood - references to the rivers of blood created by Sheidheda’s massacres, first of the Faithful and then of the Children of Gabriel.
The fourth plague, the sun scorching people with fire, takes us to the eclipse in 7x13, where the sky is red with the eclipse. This leads to the fifth and sixth plagues - the kingdom being plunged into darkness as Emori kills power to the reactor to bring down the shield, which makes it possible for “locusts [to come] down on the earth” (Revelation 9:3) and devour those “who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads” (Revelation 9:5).
It is only the final plague - “rumblings… and a severe earthquake… [where] the great city split into three parts” (Revelation 16:18-19) - that strikes where Octavia is, with “a loud voice from the throne, saying ‘It is done!’” (Revelation 16:17). This line from Revelation calls back to what Octavia says to Hope in 6x13 before her Ascension - “Be brave, tell him it is done” - a sign that Octavia is needed elsewhere again. And soon enough she does depart to Bardo, alongside Clarke. Meanwhile, the survivors remaining on Earth have to reunite the three groups split in the bunker - those in the rotunda (Hope, Jordan, Gaia, Indra, Miller), those in the rec room (Raven, Murphy, Emori, Jackson) and those in the bunkrooms (Echo, Niylah) - to prepare for the final war and judgment.
The Fall of Babylon
Before Octavia can bring light to the world and grant humanity transcendence, there is still one more key part of Revelation that must come to pass, and that is the fall of Babylon: That is, in this ‘verse, Clarke.
Throughout Biblical narrative, Babylon stands in opposition to Jerusalem and its righteousness, just how in The 100 narrative Clarke and Octavia have always been set as foils to each other. Now, Clarke isn’t evil per se, but she’s always been set in her ways and doubles down when questioned about her past deeds - as we see both in how she faces the Primes in 6x03 and the Judge in 7x16. She doesn’t learn, and so she fails. Clarke, like Babylon, is locked out of heaven for not learning the patience and humility that Octavia did: “For her sins are piled up to Heaven, and God has remembered her sins. Give back to her as she has given, pay her back double for what she has done.” (Revelation 18:5-6).
With Clarke fallen, it is now time to begin the Final Judgment.
Final Test and Judgment
After Clarke’s fall, someone must step in to advocate for humanity, to guide the Judge’s gaze to the righteous, to the Saviour - Raven steps through the glowing orb to do so. So which figure in Revelation is most suited here? None other than the writer of Revelation themselves, historically considered to be John of Patmos, who is given these visions by the angels as a warning for humanity.
Raven bore witness to a number of the plagues, and while not always a believer in Octavia - in fact, out of all characters around for all seven seasons, they’ve shared the least screentime with each other - but they’ve still fought on the same side. Also of relevance here is that Raven’s been granted visions in the narrative of the show, like John of Patmos has in Revelation - though hers came as a result of ALIE.
While the Judge takes Raven to the battlefield in Bardo to prove humanity to be unworthy, this battlefield is instead where Octavia proves humanity to be worthy. Indra and Wonkru follow Octavia’s lead, finally recognizing that their only way to salvation was through her (see John 4:16 above), and after the Disciples too laid down their weapons, humanity is deemed worthy and the Judge grants them eternal life in the form of transcendence - rising to the heavens in the manner of the Rapture, “We who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
Where is the Judgment of the Dead?
Now, one thing missing in season 7 compared to the Book of Revelation and Jesus’ Second Coming is the Judgment of the Dead and welcoming those worthy into the domain of Heaven.
A longstanding phrase in The 100 has been “May We Meet Again”. This is part of the Traveler’s Blessing of Skaikru, and one that they use frequently with one another even in non-death contexts. So with that phrase, a lot of people expected that the dead would also be able to be part of transcendence somehow, and that beloved characters would then also be present on the beach in the final scene as they rejected transcendence to live mortal lives.
I believe, given everything in the past posts about Octavia, that had she been the one to go into the ball of light to face the Judge personally, rather than saving humanity on the battlefield, that this would have happened.
While logically I believe the best form for the Judge to take for Octavia would have been Diyoza, since Diyoza was her greatest teacher, her mind would be more likely to choose her greatest love, Lincoln - who, if we go back to Part 1 of this series, we remember is the other Saviour of this show’s narrative.
That would have been a reunion even more epic than the Clarke and Lexa reunion that the show gave us, for Lincoln and Octavia were far closer and together for far longer. And if the Transcendents possessed the powers that they do - instant genocide by crystallization at the wave of an arm, transcendence through the blink of an eye, restoration of healthy and whole bodies if those souls reject transcendence - then surely raising the dead would’ve been a simple task.
The only reason that couldn’t happen was extratextual - there was no way Ricky would work with JRoth again, and so this extra dimension, this aspect of the narrative that could have made things so much sweeter and less bitter, had to be put aside.
Now, that doesn’t diminish Octavia’s Saviour narrative in the least - she did still save humanity. She did still bear the sins of the human race, she was still mocked, cast out and sent to her crucifixion by those who denied her. She did still return from that symbolic death, resurrected, then ascended. When she faced Wonkru again - remember, that battlefield in 7x16 is the first time the bulk of Wonkru has seen her since 5x13 - it was in her Second Coming to bring the Final Judgment to them. The trials they’d faced in Sanctum in her absence showed them the truth - that they had to believe in her again to achieve their salvation.
She was the Way, the Truth and the Life of The 100 universe, and no one would have reached transcendence except through her.
