Not to be controversial but I think if you're on a Food Network cake baking competition, your cake should be made out of...cake. Like the people on The Big Bake make a small cake and the rest of their huge piece is styrofoam and metal covered in modeling chocolate. That's not a cake. It's not impressive actually. Make it like 90% cake. Show me your skill.
