Blake laughed, shook his head and revved his engine in return, "I never let anyone win, ya gotta earn that shit." He called out over the motor as he lined up next to Vik then leaned down over the handlebars.

Kit kept bouncing on the balls of her feet eager to see how Vik's bike would stand up against Blake. Slim moved just in front of the two racers, lifted a hand, looked to the finish line and gave Swirv a nod then counted them down. As soon as his arm dropped the two were off in a cloud of dust.

"Oh fuck--" Clutch waved the dirt away from his face but didn't look away. It was a short race and the two were neck and neck the whole way but from their end they couldn't see who crossed the line first. In a rush, all three bikers hopped on their bikes and rode down to the gas station to meet up with Swirv and review the playback.

"That was so damn tight!" Clutch called out with a laugh as he parked his bike and jumped off quickly towering over Swirv's shoulder. Blake and Vik watched intently, Blake brushed a hand through his white blond hair.

"Shit that was close..." Blake mumbled and nudged Vik with his helmet at his side, the smallest smirk on his lips. "You're fuckin' good," he mumbled.

"Did she beat you?" Kit asked pushing her way in with Slim next to her. "It's like a hair but she totally fucking beat you! Oh my god!" Kit laughed and reached out to tap Vik's arm. "No fuckin' way!"

"You can't see that," Blake countered and shoved Kit teasingly, his lips still quirked up in the smallest of smirks. "It's a tie at best." He turned to Swirv, "Right?"

Today We Honor Noble Sissle and Eubie Blake

They was one of the nation’s premier composers and bandleaders, particularly in the early days of American popular song and theater.

As the Dixie Duo, Noble Sissle and Eubie Blake were the first African American act to perform without darkening their faces with burnt cork in the style of blackface minstrelsy.

During their extensive tours they met Flournoy Miller and Aubrey Lyles, a veteran comedy and dance duo who had gotten their start in theatrics at the historically black Fisk University in Nashville. The two acts joined forces, expanding Miller and Lyles’s sketch “The Mayor of Dixie” (later called “The Mayor of Jimtown”) and adding songs by Sissle and Blake to create the musical Shuffle Along, a pioneer musical featuring Josephine Baker, Florence Mills, Caterina Jarboro, William Grant Still, and Hal Johnson.

The production also helped propel the Harlem Renaissance of the early 20th century.
