I took @e-greywalker 's advice and googled SWTOR sabers, and found some more options:
I kind of like this one for Lena. Good mix of natural and mechanical, and the emitter shroud has the cool filigree. Not sure I like the straight lines of the overall shape, but it could easily be curved.
I also don't mind the one on the far right of the below for Lena. Make it a little bit of a darker metal to reflect her darker origins, and it would work well-- the structure seems regal enough to fit the daughter of a dark empress.
Also, the far left of the above could work for Kara. It's got the themes of RedK, and also has the regality of a princess. The winged blades on either side of the emitter adds an extra edge of lethality as well. I like it.
Overall, this one is pretty similar to the first option above for Lena, but I'm wondering if either one of these could be repurposed for Kara, once she's rehabilitated to the side of good. Like, part of me wants her to keep her existing RedK blade, but I could also see her switching it out for something softer, especially if the RedK one is damaged or lost somehow.
I love love LOVE the leather wrapped hilts here. And also the switchblade aspect. Seems something Miss "My-Shoes-Also-Carry-A-Baton" Lena would be into. But it would HAVE to be a switchblade. If it just sticks out there permanently it would defeat the purpose of being sneaky and being able to get the element of surprise.
Thoughts? Feel free to join in, folks. This is now officially a group project.

The Legend of Titanfoot
This is a work of fiction!
Deep within the towering pines of the Pacific Northwest, where the mist drapes the mountains like a ghostly shroud, a secret had been kept for centuries. The secret was a being of immense power, a protector of the forest, and a legend among humans. This was Titanfoot, the superhero Bigfoot.
Origins of Titanfoot
Long before the rise of mankind, a tribe of Sasquatch roamed freely, guardians of the natural world. They were gifted with extraordinary abilities—strength beyond measure, speed that rivaled the wind, and an innate connection to nature. Among them, a particularly massive and noble Sasquatch named Korruk emerged as their leader.
Korruk’s destiny changed one fateful night when a meteor streaked across the heavens and crashed deep into the heart of their forest. Drawn to the celestial object, Korruk found a glowing crystal pulsating with otherworldly energy. The moment he touched it, his body surged with newfound power, and he became something more than his kin. Korruk was transformed into Titanfoot, imbued with cosmic abilities to protect not only his tribe but the world beyond the forest.
The Call to Action
For centuries, Titanfoot lived in peace, silently safeguarding the balance of the natural world. However, as humanity expanded, so did its greed. Deforestation, pollution, and encroachment into the Sasquatch's sacred lands awakened Titanfoot’s sense of duty. He couldn’t stand idle while his home—and the planet—was being destroyed.
His first act of heroism came when a group of poachers stumbled into the forest, hunting for rare animals. Titanfoot, with his towering frame and glowing golden eyes, emerged from the shadows. He didn’t harm the poachers but used his powers to scare them witless, shaking the ground with a roar that echoed for miles and uprooting trees with a single swing of his arm. The poachers fled, their tales of a “giant glowing Bigfoot” spreading across towns and media outlets.
Titanfoot soon realized that protecting his forest was no longer enough. The world needed a hero who could stand against those who sought to harm it.
Powers and Abilities
Titanfoot possessed a range of superpowers:
Titanic Strength: He could lift entire boulders and fell trees with a single blow.
Earth Control: His connection to nature allowed him to manipulate the earth, causing earthquakes and creating barriers of stone and roots.
Invisibility: When needed, Titanfoot could vanish into thin air, a gift from his Sasquatch lineage.
Healing Touch: He could heal wounds of both humans and animals, a power derived from the meteor’s energy.
Empathy Link: Titanfoot could sense the emotions of living beings, allowing him to communicate with animals and even calm hostile humans.
The Fight for Harmony
One of Titanfoot’s greatest challenges came in the form of an industrial tycoon named Victor Greaves. Greaves was the CEO of ApexCorp, a company responsible for mass deforestation and illegal mining operations in the Pacific Northwest. Unapologetic and ruthless, Greaves saw Titanfoot not as a protector but as an obstacle to his profit.
Greaves developed a team of mercenaries armed with high-tech equipment designed to capture or kill Titanfoot. Their weaponry included sonic emitters to disorient him and drones equipped with heat-seeking missiles. When ApexCorp's machines rolled into the forest, Titanfoot was waiting.
The battle was epic. Titanfoot used the terrain to his advantage, summoning landslides and tangling ApexCorp’s machinery in massive roots. Greaves’ mercenaries, though well-equipped, were no match for Titanfoot’s raw power and strategic brilliance. He fought not to kill but to drive them away, dismantling their machines with precision.
In the climax of the battle, Greaves himself entered the fray, piloting a massive mechanical exosuit armed with flamethrowers and saw blades. The fight shook the forest, with trees crashing down and the ground splitting beneath their feet. But Titanfoot, drawing on his cosmic energy, delivered a final blow—a seismic stomp that sent shockwaves through the earth, toppling Greaves’ machine and forcing the tycoon to retreat.
A Hero to All
News of Titanfoot’s heroic deeds spread far and wide. Though some dismissed him as a myth, others believed and rallied to his cause. Environmental activists adopted his image as a symbol of resistance, and local communities banded together to protect the forests Titanfoot called home.
Titanfoot, however, remained a mystery. He never sought recognition or fame. He returned to the shadows of the forest, watching over the land he loved, ready to rise whenever the world needed him.
And so, the legend of Titanfoot lived on—a superhero Bigfoot, the silent guardian of nature, and a beacon of hope in a world that often forgets the importance of harmony with the Earth.

Know That Great History Behind the Kanan Jarrus Lightsaber!
There is a wide range of lightsabers you can find these days. Some of them are traditional ones and some of them have become more advanced. The advanced lightsabers are mostly admired and used these days by those who love to go for the dueling. Star Wars series have inspired us so much that we prefer getting involved in the duels and these are the time when you can really have a great experience once you have a perfect lightsaber to use. The advance versions of lightsabers come with the most unique lighting and sound effects. When the blades of these lightsaber clash these lights and sound effects are produced. If you are looking for a more versatile kind of lightsaber these days, then the Kanan Jarrus lightsaber is what that might draw your attention at the first instance.
When you look for the Star Wars series, you can really find a great history behind the creation and use of the Kanan Jarrus lightsaber. Once develop by the Kanan Jarrus, this lightsaber was also named as the Caleb Dume. This used to have a blade for which the length can be adjusted. It was the time of the Galactic Empire, when Kanan Jarrus used to keep his lightsaber hidden. Instead of hanging that lightsaber with his belt, he separated it into two different pieces and managed to hide it inside his belt. This is how he prevented himself from being identified as a Jedi.
The grip of the hilt and the main body of this lightsaber used to remain at his back as well as emitter shroud used to remain at the left side. Due to this reason, Kanan Jarrus hardly need to insert that shroud section into that main body as well twist them together to lock the whole thing. This lightsaber also comes with the low-power setting mode. This setting helps to prevent any kind of injuries to the partners when you are practicing with them. At this particular setting, Kanan Jarrus lightsaber use to produce a very attractive and unique blue light and it also produce a very unique vibration for which the pitch remains bit higher.
It was the first Geonosis battle when the Anakin skywalker has used the green lightsaber. The blade of this lightsaber used to be green in color and that’s the reason it used to produce the green light when clashed with the other lightsabers. However, during that battle such lightsaber was destroyed and after that Anakin has managed to make another lightsaber for dueling. If you are looking for a perfect replica of the Anakin skywalker green lightsaber, then you have come to the right place. It’s a lightsaber that you must have for your collection. Now you can get this amazing and unique lightsaber in affordable price right at the online store that supplies top quality lightsabers online. As a fan you are surely going to receive the most amazing and distinct kind of experience while using this green bladed lightsaber.
If you will refer to the Star Wars episode 2, then you can easily trace that the lightsaber of Anakin used to produce the blue light. It was the factory scene when this lightsaber was sliced into two halves. Once the Jedi was there for the rescue, the lightsaber was tossed into in spares. And then it has managed to get the green light. Anakin skywalker green lightsaber is what that can bring the same sort of feel for you on the use. This is surely a very amazing and unique lightsaber that you will like to get for your collection of lightsabers.

“...he recognized it: its feel was as familiar as Yoda’s voice.
It was a lightsaber.
It was Depa’s lightsaber.
Instead of slapping it away, Mace drew it toward him - and through the Force he felt her, felt Depa as though she stood at his side and had taken his hand. Its grip smacked into his palm.
In the green flash of Depa’s blade, the situation looked different.”
- Shatterpoint, by Matthew Stover
This book is straight fire, my dudes.
As promised, some shots of the aforementioned Depa Billaba saber, with some of my own (minor) modifications, paired with that of her Master, Mace Windu. The saber is based off of Depa’s appearance in the first episode of The Bad Batch television show and while I personally find that show to be ‘meh’ at best, her saber’s design is quite nice:
Whether intentional or not on the part of the designer, the muted color of the gun-metal gray/blue shrouds, contrasted with the mirrored electrum finish of the accents around the emitter, activation switches & covertec wheel is really beautiful. And it serves as a nice visual reference to Mace’s Bad Mother Fucker.
More specifically, this is the Korbanth V1 version (V2 is available now, if you’re curious) and while less accurate than something like the One Replicas version, I personally find it to be a much nicer-looking hilt. Which is a good thing, since it’s staying on my shelf.
As I’ve said before, one of the greatest pleasures of building lightsabers is keeping the odd one for yourself, every now and then.

All 11 Lightsaber Color Meanings
All 11 Lightsaber Color Meanings [Ultimate Star Wars Guide]By
Arthur S. Poe
/ September 4, 2021
Lightsabers are an all-important asset in George Lucas’ fictional world of Star Wars. They are a weapon used predominantly by Force users, be their Jedi or the Sith, but there are some variations that have been used by other characters.
The fact that they are mostly used by Force users is explained by fact that they are actually very hard to control for people who don’t have a strong connection to the Force. They are not heavy or anything, but total control over a lightsaber requires a lot of skill, which is why “regular” characters usually avoid them, although there have been instances in the Expanded Universe where non-Force users used a lightsaber in combat.
1 second of 15 secondsVolume 0%
The movies initially presented three different lightsaber colors – blue, green, and red – but this was expanded as the franchise developed and now we have several different iterations of Lightsaber colors.
We are bringing you a list of lightsaber colors, as well as their meanings and the most famous users. You’re also going to find out a bit about the process of making a lightsaber and how the color is actually determined.
How Are Lightsabers Made?
Lightsabers are an essential part of the Star Wars mythology. We have explained that they are generally used by the Jedi and the Sith, although there are some variations of the weapon used by non-Force users in the franchise. The lightsaber is a weapon used for both offense and defense, which makes it a very practical tool to have when in trouble.
Now, the mechanics behind a functional lightsaber are quite complex and they require a lot of skill to compose properly. This is why there aren’t many lightsabers around.
In order to function properly, a lightsaber needs to draw power from an appropriately-sized power cell. Parts that are usually used to make a lightsaber include modulation circuits and an energy gate. The essential parts are a blade emitter shroud, the emitter matrix, and some type of activator to turn the weapon on and off. Additional, but non-essential parts include handgrip ridges and a blade length adjuster. Some lightsabers also had a non-lethal low-power setting used for training.
Single-bladed lightsabers generally had a belt ring so they could be hung from the wearer’s belt hook, or a wheel-shaped attachment that slotted into a matching belt clip on the owner’s belt when not in use. This way is quite practical, if you think about it.
Some specially designed lightsabers could even use unstable kyber crystals; an example of such a lightsaber was Kylo Ren’s lightsaber, which featured two laterally facing vents designed to divert excess energy away from the cracked crystal and keep the lightsaber stable.
During assembly, it was important to not accidentally invert the emitter matrix; when activated the lightsaber’s power grid would backfire. At best this could cause the blade to quickly short out, but if it was left on, the faulty weapon would violently explode, potentially killing those in close proximity.
What Are Kyber Crystals?
Alongside the complex mechanics, a kyber crystal is basically the essence of a lightsaber as it is its main source of power, the “thing” that produces the saber itself. Kyber crystals are actually rare, Force-attuned crystals that grow in nature and can be found on scattered planets across the whole galaxy.
They were likewise used by both the Jedi and the Sith in the construction of their lightsabers, although the latter had to put the crystal through a painful adaptation procedure.
As part of their Jedi training, younglings were sent to the Crystal Cave of the ice planet of Ilum, probably the most famous source of kyber crystals, to mine crystals in order to construct their own lightsabers. The crystal’s mix of unique luster was called “the water of the kyber” by the Jedi. There were also larger, rarer crystals of great power and that, according to legends, were used at the heart of ancient superweapons by the Sith.
Although they all had the same denominator, kyber crystals appeared in different types and, through history, a lot of different types of kyber crystals have been discovered and described. The known types are:
Adegan crystal
Barab ingot
Christophsis crystal
Corrupted crystal
Cracked Jedha crystal
Dantari crystal
Dragite gem
Ghostfire crystal
Ilum crystal
Kimber stone
Krayt dragon pearl
Lorrdian gemstone
Nishalorite stone
Obsidian
Seeker crystal
Solari crystal
Sorian crystal
Synthetic kyber crystal
Tainted Nightsister Crystal
Thontiin crystal
Varpeline crystal
Zophis crystal
Mephite crystal
Mephite crystal
Pontite crystal
As Master Yoda once said: “The heart of the lightsaber, the crystal is.” This short piece of wisdom tells us just how important the crystal is and how it, actually, determines the saber’s nature. This is why there are so many different types of lightsabers based on their colors.
Known Lightsaber Colors and Their Meanings
As of today, there are 11 main lightsaber colors that have been identified in the Star Wars franchise. Some of them have specific subtypes, but the majority has just the base form. The table below is going to present the main colors and their basic subtypes where applicable:
Not what we have given you a brief overview of the colors, we can continue with our article and elaborate what each of the colors means and what each of them actually represents. We’re going to be approaching the colors in the order they are listed in the table above.
Blue Lightsaber Meaning
In modern times, lightsaber colors really don’t have the same weight as they had in ancient times and the interpretations of each color are based on their historical importance rather than on their modern significance, although Lucas and the other authors tried to keep the symbolism in modern characters.
In that aspect, a blue lightsaber, which is also the most common one seen in the galaxy, represents what was historically known as a Jedi Guardian, the protector of the Jedi Order and a person that embodied bravery and righteousness. Jedi Guardians were fighters and they vehemently defended the ways of the Jedi, and the blue color of their sabers represents those qualities in them.
The two most famous owners of a blue lightsaber are Obi-Wan Kenobi, who is the perfect example of the qualities described above, and his former Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the Dark Side and became Darth Vader. Luke Skywalker and Rey had a blue lightsaber for a while, and even General Grievous, who had been trained by Count Dooku, had a pair of blue lightsabers.
Green Lightsaber Meaning
The green lightsaber has usually been associated with the most powerful Jedi Knights. Unlike the blue lightsaber, which is usually associated with fighters and soldiers, the green lightsaber represents wisdom and skill. It is usually associated with Jedi who have a strong connection to the Force.
Owners of a green lightsaber are experienced and wise, they have a deep and fundamental understanding of the Force and they are usually among the higher ranking Jedi Knights. They value harmony and rely more on their mental skills than their fighting skills. That is why they are usually held in very high regard and are among the most respected Jedi Knights in the whole franchise.
By far the most famous owner of a green lightsaber was Jedi Grandmaster Yoda, who is considered to be the most powerful Jedi in history. Yoda was the embodiment of all the qualities associated with a green lightsaber, which is why he is the best example for this section.
Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn also had a green lightsaber and had it not been for his rebellious and unorthodox nature, he would have certainly been a member of the Council.
Luke Skywalker also owned a green lightsaber later in his life. Interestingly enough, General Grievous also had a pair of green lightsabers, but like the blue ones, they bore no significance for him.
Red Lightsaber Meaning
History has taught us that kyber crystals had such a strong connection to the Force that they were, practically, sentient objects. With that in mind, we also have to remember the fact that kyber crystals resisted the Sith and there was no natural way for the Sith to control a kyber crystal. The only was for them to do it was to use the Force to subjugate the crystal in a process that was very painful for both the Sith and the crystal.
Since the kyber crystal would “bleed” during the process, the crystal would change color and become red. Thus, a red kyber crystal doesn’t really embody evil, but it does represent pain and suffering, both traits characteristic of the Dark Side of the Force. It also embodies all of the hate a Sith used to make the kyber crystal “bleed”. This is the reason why a red lightsaber is exclusively associated with the Sith since such traits aren’t really characteristic of the Light Side of the Force.
Historically, all Sith Lords are associated with the red lightsaber, with some of them even having more exotic designs, like Darth Maul or Kylo Ren. Darth Sidious is by far the most powerful user of a red lightsaber, with Darth Vader, his apprentice, being very close. Count Dooku, after leaving the Jedi and going to the Dark Side, also used a red lightsaber.
Purple (Amethyst) Lightsaber Meaning
The story of the purple lightsaber is very interesting, as its origins can actually be found off-screen. Namely, Lucas never intended on introducing a purple lightsaber to the canon, but Samuel L. Jackson, who played Mace Windu in the Prequel Trilogy, wanted his lightsaber to be purple because purple was his favorite color. Lucas agreed and that is how this color was actually introduced into the franchise, which means that it initially had absolutely no meaning.
Still, the Expanded Universe authors retroactively gave the color meaning, stating that a purple lightsaber represented moral ambiguity, uncertainty, and reconstruction; this was due to the fact that purple is a combination of red and blue. What does this ultimately mean?
It means that a character with a purple lightsaber has connections to both the Light and the Dark Side of the Force. Such Force users have usually been quite powerful as they had to endure the temptation of the other side in order to maintain their personal path.
Although Mace Windu, by far the most famous owner of a purple lightsaber, wasn’t really ambiguous – he held the values of the Jedi Order in high regard – he did have his moments and he was far less composed than, for example, Yoda or Qui-Gon. Still, he was exceptionally powerful and his ability to stay on the path of the Jedi despite his lightsaber color proves that. Another famous owner of a purple lightsaber was the Rodian Jedi Knight Huulik.
Black Lightsaber (Darksaber) Meaning
A black lightsaber, also called a Darksaber, is actually a unique lightsaber; there is only one example in existence. The Darksaber is shaped like a traditional sword and it’s somewhat shorter than an actual lightsaber; still, it is without a doubt a subtype of a lightsaber. The Darksaber is associated with Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian Jedi, who created the Darksaber as a one-of-a-kind weapon.
The weapon represented the Mandalorians’ fight against the Jedi and was a very powerful tool in battle; it also represented the emotions of the Mandalorians (something the Jedi avoided) and their murderous rivalry with the Jedi. At one point, the Darksaber was taken by the Jedi and kept under lock, until it was stolen by the Mandalorians and returned to the descendants of Tarre Vizsla.
The owner of the Darksaber also claims the title of the ruler of the Mandalorians and the only way to legitimately claim ownership over it is to defeat the former owner in combat (i.e., kill them).
As far as the famous owners are concerned, the Expanded universe as well as the TV shows have shown us that it has been owned by Tarre Vizsla, Pre Vizsla, and Sabine Wren among others. The Mandalorian has also established Moff Gideon and Din Djarin as its owners.
White Lightsaber Meaning
Although not completely unique, white lightsabers are among the rarest in the whole galaxy. The only two notable examples are, in fact, Ahsoka Tano’s white lightsabers. They represent neutrality and autonomy; while they are associated with the Light Side of the Force, they represent an individual who has cut ties with the Jedi despite remaining on the Light Side, and an individual that has no connection to the Dark Side of the Force.
An interesting thing here is that a white kyber crystal, the basis for a white lightsaber, is not natural, but is created by reversing the process with which the Sith create red kyber crystals.
Namely, by using the Force, an individual is able to purify a red kyber crystal, removing the Sith’s influence from it. During that process, the crystal loses its red color and instead becomes white, remaining completely usable. This form of purification also has its symbolic value, as stated above.
Ahsoka Tano is not only the most famous, but also te only known user of a white lightsaber. She was able to purify the red kyber crystals from the Sixth Brother’s weapon, thus creating two neutral, white crystals which she used in her lighsabers.
Yellow Lightsaber Meaning
Along with the white lightsaber, a yellow lightsaber is among the rarest in the galaxy. It is not certain what this color actually represents, since it has never been explained by anyone, but we do know that a purified red kyber crystal (which was done by Jaden Korr) turned yellow on one occasion.
That is interesting because the purified color was later changed to white, as per the section above. Jedi Sentinels, the powerful protectors of the Jedi Temple, are usually associated with a double-bladed yellow lightsaber, but their story doesn’t really reveal much about the origins and the symbolism behind one of the franchise’s rarest lightsaber colors.
The powerful Asajj Ventress was the owner of a yellow lightsaber at one point, as was Ahsoka Tano. Still, most people will probably identify Rey, the protagonist of the Sequel Trilogy, as the most famous yellow lightsaber owner, as she is the only one among the three to have appeared in the main movies. The Jedi Sentinels, who guard the Jedi Temple, also use yellow kyber crystals for their weapons.
Orange Lightsaber Meaning
Due to it also being extremely rare, we don’t know much about the orange lightsaber. We know that it was canon before the great Disney purge and that it has appeared in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game, but there isn’t actually any precise theory on its origins or its meaning. One theory states that it is a rarely used color because it is owned by those who have sworn not to use their weapons unless absolutely necessary.
This would mean that the orange lightsaber represents pacifism. Another theory, on the other hand, states that it was used by the Sith in the early days, but that practice has since been abandoned. Connected to this is the theory that an orange lightsaber contains a partially purified red kyber crystal which still contains traces of its original redness. The game guide, finally, states that an orange lightsaber represents a character with a void inside them, doomed never to be filled.
Whatever the correct theory might be, we’ll have to wait for it, as the current canon doesn’t really tell us much. Yaddle (the female Yoda that had a cameo in the Prequel Trilogy) had an orange lightsaber and it is also associated with Cal Kestis since Fallen Order came out.
Other Colors
As for the other colors that are mentioned in the table but have not been addressed individually, the reason behind that decision is because we have no story to tell. These other colors, as well as some non-canon ones (like gold or bronze), have appeared in the franchise, but the stories never really revealed much about them so we have no clue that they represent. There are certainly going to be more colors in the future so we’ll update the article as they appear, but this is everything we know about the current canon colors of lightsabers in the Star Wars franchise.
Thank you for reading, please follow me and send me a message about you favorite color or which color is yours!

4 BBY
Young Cassidy Kestis has just turned seven years old.
As she grew, she has become more exposed to the doings of her parents: watching them trade strikes with beams of light that emit out of a metal cylinder once ignited, wave their hands around to move things from something as a bug to something as large as a boulder without needing to touch them, and her childhood was heavily influenced by that—she was a constant spectator of her parents.
It fascinated her. Though she didn’t know that she was more like them.
You and Cal have been teaching her mostly about the Force ever since she was five years old. It was you who taught her the ways of the Force, how to reach out to it, and how to strengthen her bond with it.
“So, when can I learn how to lift things without my hands, Mom?”
The innocence and naivety of your daughter amused you. Perhaps it’s inherent in many younglings to ask when they can start to lift things using the Force—you were no stranger to that, you and Cal are practically guilty to such an inquiry once.
“Soon, Cassidy,” you still entertained her question, but quickly added the important bit. “But lifting things with the Force isn’t the most important thing you’ll have to learn.”
“Then what is?”
The sprightly young girl hopped from one rock to the other as she followed you into the forest. She showed off her balancing skills by lifting her one leg up while keeping the other planted on the narrow tip of the boulder stuck on the ground; you quickly caught her in your arms when she started to stumble facedown.
“The Force itself, no less,” you settled her atop a stone’s throw in the middle of the clearing. “That’s the energy that surrounds us and binds us everywhere.”
“But how can I know it’s there when I don’t even see it?”
She had a fair point, you thought, her insight was repaid with a chuckle stifled by a smile.
“That’s very perceptive,” you commented. “But you’re right, though: how could one know something is there when they don’t see it?”
That was a rhetoric, though your daughter’s acumen reminded you of the very same standpoint you once had as a Jedi youngling. You recall the words of Master Yoda from one of your lectures back in the day. You paced back and forth, stringing together the words of the lesson, her head followed your every step as she loosened her shoulders and lay her hands over her legs crossed together on the stone’s throw.
“The Force doesn’t need eyes to be seen, Cassidy, it needs to be felt. So, can you tell me how does one feel?”
Her eyes wandered the forest, in search of an answer, and then she perked up right away.
“Touching!” she showed you her palms wide open and wiggled all ten of her fingers.
“That’s right, that’s one thing,” you reward her answer with a smile and she shifted in her seat. “Can you think of another?”
“Not exactly, Mom,”
“All right, I want you to try something. Close your eyes,”
The child did as she was told. Nothingness shrouded her eyes. With her vision darkened, her other senses keened—it was more of an unconscious action than something noticeable—her hands were pulled away from her knees and then were planted against the cold, smooth surface of her perch by you.
Feel, Cassidy…
The hushed words of her mother faded into the still, afternoon breeze, they swirled about in her mind as if to embed itself into her system; at first, she didn’t know what or how to do with it, but she never let go of those words and acted upon them.
The ambiguity of your words afforded Cassidy a lot of wiggle room as to how she’ll go about it. She was attempting to comprehend what you meant—the lack of sight was beginning to make sense, she was able to make out sensations and emotions that stretched farther than the span of her arms.
“I think I feel something…” Cassidy whispered. “Warm…? No, cool—like the water in the river.”
An indescribable feeling seeped into her, like an inward embrace. All kinds of sensation coming from all around her entered her system like a siphon.
“There is something…!” she gasped, overwhelmed by the things flooding her mind—it was perhaps too much for the seven-year-old. She squirmed in her seat, refining herself to control it better.
“That’s the Force, Cassidy—you’re letting it flow within you,”
A certain warmth blanketed her. It commanded her body to relax and loosen away from the tension. Moments later, even with her vision darkened, she had a full view of the forest clearing—the stream, the grass, the rocks that she made stepping stones out of, and her mother standing opposite her.
Her fingers curled over the stone’s throw where you had planted them, as she allowed the Force to guide her silently and act on her pure instinct, you observed the pebbles rattling next to your feet—unfazed yet intrigued by this, you return your attention to your daughter.
“Deep breaths, Cassidy,” you instructed in the middle of her trance.
She obeyed as she heard. To her, it felt like the influx of sensations have balanced itself out when her lungs released the air they collected—but little did she knew that it was all on her as she tried to calm herself and clear those thoughts. She had yet to understand that her actions and the Force itself were symbiotic with one another. Later on, even if she wasn’t told, she attempt to open her eyes, slowly.
Standing right in front of her were her parents, their posture were alike—shoulders loose, hands behind their back, and a smile greeting her as the light enters her dark eyes.
“Well, Cassidy?”
“There was something, but I don’t really know what it is—it just made me feel things,” the scarlet-haired girl struggled with her words, hoping that you would understand her takeaway—you knew exactly what she meant.
“You did a good job, Cassidy,” you chirped. “That something you said? That was the Force reaching back to you, because you called it and it answered you.”
“So, it’s like talking but without the words… and with my eyes closed?”
An amused smile stretched from ear-to-ear, you caressed the curve of her cheek.
“Something like that, my sweet,”
You gave her a few minutes’ worth of rest before it was Cal’s turn to train her. It has become a point that he teaches combat while you teach Cassidy how to wield, connect with, and use the Force. BD-1, excited as always to reunite with Cassidy, skittered off of Cal’s shoulder towards her and the two friends immediately got lost in their own little world.
“She’s learning,” Cal chirped.
“Yes, she is. She’s a fast learner, I’ll give her that,”
“But she has much to understand,”
The absence of a reply from you meant that you agreed, though you weren’t sure how to word it out. The two of you watched Cassidy prop herself on her knees and concentrate on her own, applying what she has learned just now without any supervision—it’s a consistent trait of hers to do something independently after having learned or been taught about it; she has exhibited that when she first witnessed Cal lift a fallen log that blocked the path using the Force—that event was two years ago.
Eventually, it was Cal’s turn to train her today.
“Cassidy,” he summoned. “It’s time for instruction.”
“In a minute, Daddy!”
Her smiling face paled the radiance of the daylight as she scampered towards Cal with open arms, running towards him in a bear hug; their scarlet hairs clashed and shimmered a fiery hue against the sun as Cal brushed noses with her. They were binary suns personified.
Cal’s teaching methods take after Jaro Tapal’s style—straightforward and concise, firm yet gentle. Perhaps, the only thing Cal differed from his late master was patience. Cal handed over the prototype saber that he had fashioned for Cassidy, but it wasn’t technically hers—she has yet to undergo her own Gathering pretty soon.
“Now then,” he started as he configured the training droid. “Let’s have a little warm-up.”
Cassidy assumed a stance, she did an adorable job in doing so, the hilt was unignited but the weapon was positioned in the defensive. Cal smiled at the eagerness of his daughter, the tiny lights that riddled the body of the training flickered open and then it hovered up and away from his palm. Using the Force, he gave it a little nudge towards Cassidy’s direction.
The young Kestis girl’s stance stiffened, eyes glued to the floating droid, her palms sweated and coated the sleeve of the saber. The slightest centimeter that the hovering sphere made, the girl’s eyes followed. Her thumb had already pressed against the switch, a blue blade hissed out of the emitter, and the sphere became more hostile in a sense.
The lightsaber mirrored where the training sphere hovered to, anticipating an attack; the two of you can sense the uneasiness in her which Cassidy herself confuses with determination, however, she meant well, she strived to do well especially in combat—witnessing the two of you perform combat techniques and fighting patterns which was ultimately impressive and spectacular in her eyes, she’s made it her personal goal to reach a level such as her Jedi parents.
“Relax, sweetie,” Cal instructed.
Although she tried to loosen her shoulders, they always tensed back up. When the droid found a window of opportunity, it zapped out two white projectiles in quick succession.
Left. Right!
She succeeded in deflecting the blasts, but a third one caught her off guard as she celebrated mentally too soon—a zap got her shin, bringing her to her knees to rub away the sting.
“Do not think that you’ve won—not until the enemy is down,” he interjected.
Cassidy pulled herself back up, resuming into the same position as she started, and narrowed her sights to the floating sphere only. The blue beam of light protected her from two more successive blasts, learning from her mistake earlier, she anticipated the third shot—and deflected it at the last minute.
A short exhale huffed out of your mouth, impressed, you watched her experiment with her stances combined with her handling of the saber and how effectively she defended herself with such a position.
“My girl’s a fighter,” you hummed within Cal’s earshot, an agreeing smirk from him was your reply.
The training sphere stepped up its game, going beyond three successive strikes and recalibrated its attack patterns, rendering its opponent clueless of its next move. It hovered to one side, releasing two quick projectiles to Cassidy’s right side, and then zoomed to the opposite direction to zap two more before she had time to react. The floating sphere did this a second time around which greatly frustrated the redheaded youngling.
She growled at the object, the hissing noise it made as it zoomed to the other direction annoyed her—as if mocking her—out of the four total blasts the droid made, she was able to deflect two: one for each side whenever the droid changed positions. Before it could get any worse, Cal abruptly cuts the session by freezing the sphere in place with the Force as he knelt down to Cassidy’s level.
“You’re getting angry,” he pointed out.
“I couldn’t hit the zaps!”
“That’s okay. The hardest part of fighting with a lightsaber is controlling your feelings and not letting it do things for you,”
This moment afforded Cassidy to clear her mind, going to a full mental restart before engaging the training remote again. When Cal returned to your side and gave the floor to Cassidy versus the training droid, the child tried to understand her father’s advice and apply it in reality. In fairness, she was able to do much better compared to what she was getting herself into moments ago.
“She reminds me of myself,”
“Never took you as the type to be easily frustrated,” Cal half-joked to which you responded with an exhale through your nostrils as you smiled.
“Oh, believe me, it took me a great deal of practice,”
Cal craned his head, catching a glimpse of your smirk—whether it was a proud smile for your daughter improving her skill or the fond memory of your childhood amused you—he found himself infected by it as the two of you watched over little Cassidy.

I Learned Nen So You Don’t Have To
Nen is the name of the power the people of Hunter x Hunter universe can use. It has 4 basic principles, 6 types, and varying power levels/manifestations, depending on the person's aura and how they develop it. I attempt to explain (in extreme detail) how Nen works below.
Physicality
You have to have mastered the basics to discover what your type is. The entire system is based in a person's aura, or “presence” (to be explained later), so potentially anyone in HxH can learn Nen, but it is NOT well-known in-universe, and it can be very powerful and dangerous. Some will naturally be stronger in their auras. Nen is learning to manipulate your aura and forming a unique ability that suits you using that aura. The body has Aura Nodes (basically pores) that excrete a person's aura at a balanced rate compared to it being produced, maintaining their life force. If it isn’t maintained correctly and the person loses all of their aura, they will at least pass out and maybe die. To be able to manipulate your aure and use Nen, you have to open these Aura Nodes.
The two ways to open Aura Nodes: Training! (the normal person way, the safe, less-likely-to-die way), or FORCING THEM OPEN WITH NEN AND LETTING ALL YOUR AURA POUR OUT AND HOPING FOR THE BEST (the Wing way, a.k.a “we’re aren’t sitting through 20 episodes of two kids trying to exfoliate”)
Goin’ Back to the Basics
Your Aura Nodes are open. Congrats! When learning Nen (the manipulation of the aura), you have to master the 4 Basics. Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu (in that order preferably - lookin’ at you, Gon).
• TEN is the ability to halt the flow of this aura and hold it closely around your body in a thick shroud. It is basically a powerful shield. It can be be broken and takes concentration to maintain, but it limits the damage taken from physical blows and blows from others’ Nen.
• ZETSU is the 2nd basic principle. Now that you have a better control of your Aura Flow, you move to Zetsu. This is where the “presence” from earlier comes in. Zetsu is the ability to completely cut off the flow of your Nen, making it basically impossible for people to sense your presence. (This is important because since it is a presence, people sensitive to Nen will be able to sense powerful sources of Nen, sometimes from city blocks away. Its good to know Zetsu for stealth.)
• REN is taking your aura and forcibly pushing it out away from your physical form. This can be used as a strong intimidation tactic, as strong emotions can be sensed through aura, such as murderous intent. It can be powerful enough to stop people in their tracks and physically force them backwards. (Usually around this time people can learn an advanced form of Ten called Gyo. Because SURPRISE unless you've studied Nen, most normal people can't see auras. Studying it allows you to see it, but Gyo is more refined and stronger, meant to be strong enough to see through Zetsu. But it also requires concentration. So you cant have a Ten shield and super Gyo sight at the same time.)
• HATSU is the final Basic Principle of Nen. It is learning to control a constant release of Ren without injuring yourself. This is the longest phase to develop, as once you have reached this stage, you can discover your Nen type and develop your unique Nen Ability, which will require years of study for some, as well as training to accomplish.
Until you have learned these basic principles, you never truly pass the Hunter Exam. All true Hunters know Nen.
You’ve passed the Hunter Exam! ... Now what?
Once the first 4 basics are mastered, you can take the water test and figure out your Nen Type. There are 6 Nen Types: Enhancer, Transmuter, Conjurer, Manipulator, Emitter, and Specialist.
• Enhancement - Enhancers literally can do what the name implies. They can use their aura to to buff their current abilities (physical and aura-based). For example, you could make a flick as strong as a gun shot by boosting it with your aura. It generally helps people endure battles. Enhancers usually have higher stamina. They can do more if creative (for example, Gon's Nen Scissors being like a sword.)
• Transmutation - Transmuters can change the composition of their Aura and use it in battle. For example, someone changes their aura into literal electricity. In order to do so, they spend 12 years literally shocking themselves at varying voltages, so they can see how the electricity feels tangibly, within them, and in comparison to their aura. After fully understanding their aura and how they want to change it, their aura can be changed to match those qualities.
• Conjuration - Conjurers can create objects with their Nen and thus imbue them with special abilities. They are visible and tangible (if the Conjurer wishes them to be). There are objects that are impossible to create, such as an impenetrable shield. You could create a super strong shield, but it will never be impenetrable. Since they are made of Nen, they can appear and disappear at the user's will. They can also be made invisible by masking them with Zetsu, thus only able to be seen with use of Gyo.
• Manipulation - Manipulators can control either living or non-living things that already exist at their own will. The biggest difference between Manipulators and Conjurers is that Manipulators’ objects already exist. Where Conjurers may spend years feeling iron and listening to it and studying it in the attempt to replicate a shield correctly, Manipulators could just go buy a shield and do something to it with their Nen. This is the Type where Conditions are most commonly implemented. The Manipulator sets up a number of Conditions going into fights using their Nen. Once the enemy has met all the Conditions, effects can take place that can (if that was the desired outcome) lead to almost instantaneous death. Manipulators must be good at manipulating their enemies, just as they are objects, since some of their abilities aren't even able to work unless Conditions are met.
• Emission - Emitters are able to disconnect aura from their body. The power level only caps at that person's Ren output, so some Emitters can be stupidly powerful. They don’t usually do good in endurance settings, as the farther from their body the aura gets, the less intense it can be. An application of this Nen Type is teleportation. It is best when matched with Enhancer Nen to boost it in strength.
• Specialization - No one knows how this ability functions. It is entirely unique and does not adhere to rules. There are very few Specialists and not all Specialists are born with the Specialist type. It is the one Type that other Nen Types can eventually evolve into. It can be literally almost anything, and no one understands how it works. The abilities developed by Specialists are still very rooted in the Basics, as in it can't be more powerful than the Aura Output someone has. Also, they are just as personalized (if not more so) as the other 5 can be.
RESTRICTIONS, CONSEQUENCES, and CONDITIONS OH MY!
Restrictions can be applied to any Nen Type and are a hindrance and buff all at once. Basically, if a Nen User places a Restriction on their own abilites, (depending on the severity of the Restriction) the power of that ability will be increased to a proportionate amount. However, that means that the Restriction must be upheld, and the user has to have a Consequence set in place for if the Restriction is not upheld. It’s a give and take. When paired with Conditions, this can result in an attack that, if meeting the Conditions and Restrictions for the ability, can result in an instant death. For example, Kurapika. He has an ability called Chain Jail that is designed to immobilize anything it wraps around, no matter how strong they are physically, and suppress their Nen. The Restriction he placed on this ability is that there are only 12 people he will ever use it on. The Consequence is that if he fails to meet his restriction, he will instantly die. That is what grants the ability its overwhelming strength.
FOR an example of Conditions, we return to Kurapika. He has an ability called Judgement Chain. The chain impales anyone he marks and wraps around their heart. He sets Conditions after it is in place. Such as "Answer my questions truthfully, or the blade on your heart will kill you." If they lie, the blade on the chain pierces their heart. That is an example of Conditions.
Got that? Cool. There’s MORE. (But we’re almost done)
>>> “Why the picture?” I hear you wondering. Well, young Hunter, I shall ramble farther.
Even though people are born with an affinity for a specific Nen Type, they can use the abilities of any other Nen Type if they train super hard
>>>>> "BUT DOESN’T THAT NEGATE THE POINT!?!?" You scream!! No, let me explain.
You can only FULLY master the Nen Type you have an affinity for (which the aforementioned water test tells you). You can master the two closest on the wheel (Hexagon???) at about 65% capacity, and the two farthest from you at about 25% capacity. Only Specialists can be Specialists. So, an Emitter can fully master their Emitter abilities and make them entirely unique and their own, and then train SUPER hard into Enhancer abilities to boost their Emitter abilities. BUT if that Emitter wanted to learn Conjuration abilities, it would be almost not worth the effort. The farther you get away from your affinity, the harder it is to learn, too. So, Manipulators and Conjurers (based on the hexagon) are the most likely to develop into Specialists over time. REALLY special people can 100% master 2 types of Nen. This is SUPER rare.
And now you understand Nen. Woo!
This is based off of the explanations learned from Wing and Izunavi in the Heaven's Arena Arc. (As well as some stuff from Kurapika, because he's actually pretty smart about Nen even though he's a dumbass and didn't think about the Consequences HE SET UP,,,,, pissed)
#long post#hunter x hunter#hxh#nen is wild yo#I feel like a weird professor trying to appeal to their audience of zombie students at like 8 am#when its like Medieval literature and no one in the class is a lit major#but hey this is here if anyone needs it i guess#Kurapika is in italics because his abilities upset me#i made a thing

The Saberforge Silver Knight lightsaber hilt is a custom saber inspired by the design of Imperial Knight lightsaber in Star Wars Legends. Saberforge Silver Knight is a gorgeous, two-toned hilt predominantly metallic silver in color with a black grip section and a few black accents. Silver Knight was first released in 2015. The hilt has been discontinued.

Saberforge website https://saberforge.com
The simple, yet elegant design of the hilt references several Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy lightsaber design cues like the slanted emitter and the black, horizontally grooved grip section. The hilt is about 12.5 inches long and is designed to accept a 1 inch diameter blade.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The slanted emitter shroud, similar in design to the Darth Vader lightsaber, Skywalker lightsaber, and Anakin Skywalker AOTC lightsaber, tops the Silver Night hilt. A flat-top emitter, dotted with a series of small, black indentations, lies beneath the shroud, peaking out near the lowest point of the angled cut of the shroud. A circular, flat black greeblie with a flat edge is situated in the lower part of the emitter area.
The hilt widens into its second, larger shroud, a lengthy metallic silver colored shroud. The shroud features a large, cutout window on one side that exposes the black grip section beneath. The black grip section and its shroud is similar in design to the Qui-Gon Jinn lightsaber and the Obi-Wan Kenobi TPM/AOTC lightsaber. Unlike the Prequel Trilogy hilts, however, Silver Knight’s grip section features thin and shallow grooves rather than deep grooves.
The rear of the hilt features two retention screws: a black retention screw and an LED module retention screw. The LED module retention screw is situated in a slightly tapered choke point below the slanted emitter shroud. Two switch holes are cut into the grip section shroud.
A silver colored Covertec wheel attaches to the lower side of the grip section shroud. The opposite side of the Covertec wheel is balances out with a small, flat, circular greeblie. A thin, black groove is situated below the Covertec wheel. The black groove visually ties in with the grip section and the smaller black elements throughout the hilt.
A raised ring section indicates the top of the vented pommel. A small D-ring hooks through a small domed section that caps off the end of the pommel and the end of the hilt itself.
Overall, Saberforge Silver Knight is a gorgeous hilt exuding a simple elegance while referencing and honoring to other popular character hilts.

The lightsaber is configured as a Warrior Tier Saber, which is stunt saber that lights up, but does not make sound. The lightsaber is equipped with a Blood Orange blade. Although the blade looks a bit yellow in the photos, but in real life the color looks more like a bright and vibrant safety orange or construction worker orange.
Saberforge Gladius about 10.5 inches long and accommodates a 1 inch diameter blade. The hilt is primarily metallic silver in color with some black accents and a features a Dark Brown Synthetic Leather Wrap (other optional wraps in various colors and styles are available).
A slightly domed emitter, the widest section of the hilt, flares out of the top of the hilt. The hilt narrows and narrows further into two deep, horizontal grooves. The deep grooves, which are black, feature two thin and shallow grooves at the bottom. A large, smooth, metallic silver colored shroud extends down the hilt. A recessed activation switch is situated near the middle of the hilt. The hilt tapers in the middle (the tapered area may serve as a choke point for spinning and maneuvering the lightsaber). A Dark Brown Synthetic Leather Wrap extends around the lower grip section.
The hilt flares out into the second widest section near the base. The section, which features the Covertec wheel, echoes the design of the wide emitter section. Finally, a discreet, domed, vented pommel caps off the end of the hilt.

This is a Force Relics Venator 2.0 Lightsaber Hilt that I purchased second hand. In Star Wars canon, Venator-class Star Destroyers are Clone Wars era ships. Venator is also the Latin word for hunter. Venator 2.0 is not one single lightsaber hilt design, but rather a mix-and-match series of a few different combinations of lightsaber parts.
Force Relics Etsy Store [affiliate link] https://www.etsy.com/shop/ForceRelics
Force Relics released Venator 2.0 in 2016, offering the hilts empty or installed with electronics. The company released at least 11 different mix-and-match combinations of parts, labeled Venator 2.0 A through J and Venator 2.0 Kanan”. My Venator 2.0 features a Kanan Jarrus style emitter shroud and tsuba (hand-guard).
The multi-piece hilt is comprised of four main pieces: the blade holder (emitter), tsuba (handguard), main body, and pommel. The hilt also features a heatsink inside the hilt. The blade holder, main body, and pommel are all threaded. amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "sabersourcing-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "search"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_default_search_phrase = "force fx lightsaber"; amzn_assoc_default_category = "All"; amzn_assoc_linkid = "c991cb93a111c36f08ab455e20ef839d"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "true"; amzn_assoc_search_bar_position = "top"; amzn_assoc_title = "Shop Related Force FX Lightsaber Products"; amzn_assoc_rows = "1"; The coolest part of the lightsaber hilt, by far, is the emitter section. The emitter section features a cutout shroud with a knurled thumbscrew that serves as a blade retention screw and a greeblie (i.e. decorative piece). The base of the blade holder is adorned with two anodized black rings that contrast the otherwise entirely metallic silver hilt. The tsuba, which is removable, attaches to the hilt below the emitter section.
Moving down the hilt, below the tsuba there are two groove followed by a slight taper and a 12mm activation switch hole. The main body of the hilt is mostly smooth with a few small and shallow grooves along with a few larger and deeper grooves. The black Covertec wheel at the base of he hilt is made of aluminum. Finally, the removable pommel (end cap) is vented with sound holes on the bottom. Force Relics offered an optional blade plug as well. The blade plug design mirrors and complements the pommel design.
Overall, the Force Relics Venator 2.0 Kanan lightsaber hilt is minimalistic, yet elegant in design. Force Relics (FR) is a Belgium-based custom saber company that operates an Etsy store an also their own website. The company sells empty hilts, installed hilts, and lihtsaber parts.

This is an 89 Sabers custom Qui-Gon Jinn lightsaber hilt. 89 Sabers, sometimes written 89sabers, is a China based custom saber company. I purchased the hilt second hand so I didn’t get the hilt from 89 Sabers directly. This is neat hilt right out of the box since the hilt is mostly assembled. If you’d like to make the hilt kit display ready or cosplay ready, all you would need to do is attach metallic red switch more securely to the hilt. The blade plug, which is included, helps complete the look of the hilt as well.
