SWTOR's Eric Musco updating us on the player characters’ looks issues (new revision incoming):

My guess regarding the PC/NPC looks renovations is: what they can work with, in a non-disruptive manner, are the game textures (replacing existing ones, possibly by regenerating their library in an automated manner) and the "shaders" (the code that uses the textures and other data to render the imagery, by adding new tricks to it).

Adding stuff that implies new sliders and/or new types of textures (the animated facial expression wrinkles would be an example) is major work that they have to carefully consider (lots of ramifications).

But after being stuck in a meditative coma for five years protecting sith history from the hands of the Eternal Throne, he kinda lost track of them. He spends about half the war effort squinting at maps and documents and hoping no one notices he can't see anything.

I still need to do the casing in, but I'm very happy with how the cover has turned out for my collection of the published SWTOR short stories. Featuring the key art of my favourite expansion of the game.

I rolled a new Khano when they updated the game lighting a little while back, so I could re-record all the cut scenes with the new lighting.. but now that they're doing a graphics overhaul, it's time for..... (you guessed it).... yet another Khano.

I am leery though, about the changes. If Khano's face changes too much, I am going to have a literal crisis over it. But if it makes him look slightly older and a bit more rugged, then I'll consider it a win, tho.

PAIN.

I love SWTOR. It's one of my favorite Star Wars games of all time. That being said, I think there's something not many people are talking about in regards to the story that needs to be talked about more. This will be delving into spoilers for SWTOR, and possibly KOTOR and KOTOR II as well.

Jesus fucking Christ SWTOR butchers the Jedi Exile. People talk day and night about how Revan was "ruined" by SWTOR, and yet I hear very little by comparison about how abysmally this game handled Meetra Surik.

I understand that Revan is very, very important to the time period. I get that. However, the Jedi Exile, in my opinion, is equally if not more important! Without Meetra Surik, the Jedi Order WOULDN'T EXIST by the time of SWTOR. And yet she's barely mentioned at all while Revan is practically treated like a god.

I think this is especially well illustrated in the first companion conversation the JK has with Lord Scourge. Scourge mentions that he knew the Jedi Exile and Revan, and the JK is given the option to question Scourge about that. However, the option is "You knew Revan?" Despite Revan and Meetra being equally important characters, the focus of conversation is immediately shifted to only one of them.

Maybe I'm just upset about nothing, but I really think KOTOR II as a whole is just treated really horribly by SWTOR. Of course, I understand that the Jedi Exile is dead by SWTOR while Revan is not dead, and I'm not upset about that specifically. What annoys me is things like the Jedi Exile appearing as a force ghost for the sole reason of telling us to go save Revan. That's it. That's all she gets until much later in the story.

In short, I love SWTOR, but holy fuck the Jedi Exile deserved better.
