@blackboysom •  •  •  •  • My Brothers Healing Yoga Challenge Day 2 / Tuesday 3/12 ( @brandoflows / @iron_yogi06 ) Fire Log Pose Middle Passage Insufferable journeys through many waters This pose is uncomfortable even on my best day. One thing it taught me though, was not to sit in discomfort and ensure but to get up and adjust to my comfort. Working in healthcare I was no so surprised to learn in a study of American medical students that they were less likely to provide adequate pain relief to black patients. There is the stereotype that is a remnant of slave labour; black can endure, black feels pain but does not show it, black is strong, always, black does not need help. This is false. Black is human. When given the chance to go big or go home, if rest is what I want I'm going home, I'm gonna nap and then we can think about enduring another day. This is my favourite act of rebellion. I got back to Ghana 🇬🇭last week on Monday. I hit the ground running with the Independence Rock Showcase and thought I could just keep going 😳🙄🤣🤣...Fast Forward..It’s been three days since I last ate anything solid. This banana and pineapple smoothie is everything that I need right now. Until yesterday, I was managing a 102 fever 🤒 for three days. Not to mention, it’s hot as I don’t know what in Ghana 🇬🇭 right now! I was sweating like a race horse my whole first week back. I have been learning many valuable lessons during this mercury retrograde..including patience, clear communication, delegation & most importantly self muthaluvin care!! No matter what you have going on..remember to take care of yourself as well! Since beginning my fast three days ago, I manicured the nails on my hands and feet, got a fade and line up, washed/oiled my locks, did a sea salt body scrub, stayed silent and layed TF down all day if I wanted too 💁🏽‍♂️😜 Unfortunately, I could not be an active participant in My Brothers Healing Yoga Challenge organized by @blackboysom...But I am strong enough today to share the Brothers posts on my story 🙏🏾😊I’m Loving 🥰 What Im Seeing So Far!
