Updated Post. Imma be real for a sec, some of the new information that was brought to my attention is amazing and, in fact, very helpful, so I'm making an updated post to this one here.
A Beginners Guide to Crystals.
How to spot fakes (typically glass) and dyed crystals, Crystal Shapes, and Crystal Color Associations are the topics in this post.
How to spot glass, resin, and other types of fake crystals. (You can still 100% use them in witchcraft, but if you want genuine crystals, then this guide may help you do just that!)
If you think that your crystals are fake, here are some things you can look and do to tell.
Rubbing your crystal with a finger should reveal tiny pores on the surface of the crystal. If it does not have any pores and is instead completely smooth, then it's possible that it's glass or resin.
While some crystals can have naturally formed air bubbles in them, it is rare and may just be glass that was shaped into the crystal.
You can easily search up "fake crystal name" vs. "real crystal name" and compare the two pictures.
You can also look up "dyed crystals" vs. "undyed crystals" to see what a natural coloring of crystals should look like.
If you're worried that your turquoise is fake, then you can take the tip of a hot pin and press it into the crystal, if it burns then it's real, however if it starts to melt its a fake.
Opalite and Goldstone are glass crystals, man made.
9/10 times if your Crystal looks very brightly colored it could have been dyed.
I'll put in some pictures of glass/resin crystals next to the real crystals to show the difference.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Natural coloring of crystals occurs because of the different metals and other minerals that are absorbed during the creation of the crystal. Quartz is just silica and oxygen, so it's appears colorless, but when iron is absorbed, it creates purple or yellow, depending on how oxidized the iron was in the creation of the crystal.
Tumblr media
Natural citrine does form, but it's not going to look burned or splochty.
Splotchy color in crystals usually means that it's been dyed, as you can see in the first two images. Dyed crystals also very obviously look dyed because of how brightly they are colored.
Tumblr media
Even in Malachite, the green in the fake malachite is brighter than the genuine malachite. You can also look at the unnatural banding on the fake and compare it to real malachite.
Tumblr media
Real opal is not see-through like Opalite is. Real opal is more clouded with spots of color, while opalite will have streaks of color or look like the see-through ones above.
Tumblr media
Real turquoise is going to have brown or black webbings and cracks or chips, while dyed howlite is going to be smooth with brown or black inclusions. You can take a swab of acetone and rub it across the crystal to see if any coloring comes off. If the color does come off or the crystal looks lighter in the spot, then it's more than likely dyed howlite. You can also do that hot pin trick mentioned above.
The picture on the left is dyed howlite, while on the right is the natural turquoise. You can see that the natural crystal has deep webbing into the stone, very obvious cracks while the holite doesn't have cracks, only webbing that looks like it but it's going to be smooth along those lines.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crystal Shapes in witchcraft
Double pointed- absorbs and emits energy.
Cluster- Radiates energy.
One point- concentrates and directs energy.
Raw- Strong open energy.
If the crystal is more round then the energy is going to be calmer
If the crystal has multiple points, then the energy is directed off of each point.
The size of the crystal doesn't dictate the amount of energy it gives off.
Different crystals have different energies that they give off. The ones most commonly used in witchcraft and their properties are listed below.
Clear quartz- Clarity
Amethyst- Grounding
Citrine- Happiness
Rose quartz- love
Black Tourmaline- Protection
Obsidian- also protection
Aventurine- luck
Tigers eye- money
Labradorite- aura healing and protection
There are many other crystals that give off similar energies that can be used. As stated, these are just some of the more commonly seen ones.
Now, different crystals can give off different energies depending on the person using them. Some people may see use amethyst as protection rather than obsidian or black tourmaline. Some may use aventurine for money spells over tigers eye. That's 100% okay.
Crystal Color Associations.
Color associations can depend on how the witch feels about a color. This is the general association plus how I use colors in my path.
Red- Anger/passion
Orange- Courage (or in my case repulsion)
Yellow- Happiness
Green- Luck and money
Blue- Calming or sadness (depending on the mood)
Purple- Spirituality
Brown- grounding
Pink- self love
Grey- solemn, seriousness.
With some crystals, the color is also associated with the things listed above. However, again, not all witches will use the color associations of crystals this way, and that's 100% okay. Each witch has a different path and different associations when it comes to the tools they use in their path.
If you're interested in learning about what energies different crystals give off, often just googling "what is crystal name used for in healing" and you will receive an answer.
Though with any type of research, please look at 3-5 other sources that say the same or similar thing. Though it may take more digging to come to a conclusion.
Thank you for reading the updated post, and let me know if I missed anything or if you'd like to add anything. A big thanks to everyone who has corrected the previous post on this subject and any posts that may have contained misinformation in them.

Some kinky/m-rated post-revival headcanons for msr, please?? ☺️
1. Her moisturizer is obnoxiously expensive. It comes in a fancy little purple jar that he always winces at seeing in the recycle bin because he feels as though even the empty vessel must be worth money that he does not need.
Scully runs her fingers down her Vespucci throat, fingers slick with obscure polymers, and he remembers why he doesn’t care.
“Can I help you?” she asks, massaging nightingale shit or snail venom or some other unholy thing into those impossible cheekbones. Into eyelids taut and fine as dew-jeweled spiderwebs. Watching him in her Edwardian silver-glass mirror through lashes like opera curtain fringe.
Decades of touching her, but he cannot say she has skin like the finest vellum without sounding like Ed Gein. He cannot say, “I want to bite your calla-lily throat until it bruises into a violet,” without sounding like Ted Bundy.
“Nothing,” he says, his lip between his teeth. “I didn’t mean to interrupt your ablutions.”
He bites at his tongue like a cherry in April, almost ripened but not quite. He twitches a little in his faded yellow pants, twitches and considers, but isn’t fully hard yet.
Scully watches him in the mirror. Runs lotion between her high, bare breasts with her Rodin hands; studies him with her tourmaline eyes.
***
2. His forearms. She fell in love with restrained sexuality - no. No, she had a concept of it after she watched Casablanca one afternoon home from school with a stomach bug. Catholic girls fall in love with restrained sexuality very young, only they don’t know it. They iron their kilts and they pray and they confess to all the wrong sins. They fall in love with dark wool blazers and satin ribbons and the brave wilted starch of hand-me-down blouses.
The muscles below his elbows, woven like a braid. Like a scourge.
He’s past sixty. He’s past sixty and if she’d met him now at the same age she was then she still would have bitten her lip and said “Jesus H. Christ” and quietly, secretly, shamed her father.
Let him finger her in a Ford Taurus. Called her sister and said, “Ohh, Missy, I think I fucked up.”
Daniel, Daniel. She thought that was love.
Mulder smirks, a five-o’clock-shadow on his disparately perfect face. Mulder with his squinty eyes and his too-short chin and his beestung jigsaw mouth like the reason kissing was invented.
“Can I buy you a drink?” he asks, tapping his nutmeg fingers on the scarred kitchen table.
“You don’t make very much money,” Scully notes, running her thumb along his brachioradialis. His skin is the color of sand castles, of the the edges of chocolate chip cookies. “With your blog.”
Mulder pouts. “I made it the old fashioned way,” he says, his thumb against her philtrum. Her lips. Her tongue.
“You certainly didn’t marry it,” she teases. “Living in sin.”
He nibbles the fleshy pad of her thumb. “I inherited.”
***
3. Her waist is sister to a Stradivarius. Her waist like Maud of Wales. He knows he shouldn’t obsess over this, her taut palimpsest belly, especially after the birth of a child they can no longer even claim. He knows it’s a quirk of genetics, like her startling eyes and her amber hair and her glorious brain. He knows she was born to be someone’s muse and that he has thwarted her destiny of Gauloises and pouting silver-nitrate immortality in a coffee table photography book.
She could still launch a thousand ships, she could bring Rossetti to his knees. He does not realize that the muse she is - a Perugino angel, a Lovelace polymath - remains his alone by her desire.
Scully, nearly sixty. So soft and so hard and angular and curvaceous. How had he ever waited, her waist and breasts and hips all bound in wool and gabardine and fitted black poplin? How had he let her beg off the lyric of “If I were the king of the world/Tell you what I'd do/I'd throw away the cars and the bars and the wars/Make sweet love to you.”
He curves his hot palm below her rib cage with his left hand, thumbs her tailored blouse open with his right.
He sucks at her rosy-brown nipple, her clavicles, her pale calf; he a ucks at her like Eve drinking in the first sweet juices of the apple.
***
4. Mulder should have been a pianist or a surgeon, she thinks. Should have been conducting an orchestra with fingers that beautiful, but instead he’s massaging a focaccia into a lazy rectangle.
He’s a tactile animal, her love, with his rangy hands and his absence of physical boundaries. Mulder has loomed and leered and poked and prodded for decades. He’s touched her in wildly inappropriate ways since Monica Lewinsky could legally drink. The 90’s, what a goddamn time, with his wholesomely filthy calendars and his flagrant innuendo.
Scully’s watched him squeeze limes and kill terrible people and braid challah and still - shameless - she sucks her bottom lip when he unbuttons a cuff, grips the gear-shift in their Highlander.
Mulder slices a tomato, chiffonades the basil.
“How long to rise,” Scully murmurs, cupping her palm around the tender juncture between his thighs.
Mulder sucks in his breath, arranges a flower garden on his dough. Adjusts an olive slice with the precision of Michelangelo.
“Twenty-four hours in the fridge,” he says, pressing deeply into her hand. “I hope you haven’t got plans.”
***
5. He licks at it like someone’s elderly aunt, like a mother cat, like a judgemental yiayia, bubbie, meemaw.
Scully swats at him, irritated. “Stop it. It’s not schmutz.”
“No,” Mulder says, tenderly. Stubbornly. “All those years, who did you think you were fooling?”
She scowls, too thin and too pale and too aristocratic for his comfort. “When I was nine Aunt Olive said it cluttered up my face.” Scully presses a forefinger to the birthmark above her lip. “It made me self conscious.”
“Je suis coquette,” Mulder says, his tongue teasing her lips apart, pleased with his own cleverness. He took three semesters of French, traveled there, but studied Les mouches independently.
A gentle swat to his nose. “It’s a cluster of melanocytes.”
He would absolutely love to slap Scully’sAunt Olive. Scully's dreary biology professors. “Tell Marilyn Monroe,” he mumbles against her fleur-de-sel mouth. “Tell Cindy Crawford.”
Scully says nothing, but her skin warms. Softens, loosens. She melts, midway cotton-candy at the State Fair, into his waiting mouth.

My Spell Crafting Thought Process
I had a friend ask to me earlier about how my spell crafting thought process was and I honestly thought I should share this as I sort of thought it all out. My friend found it helpful and I think people who are trying to create their own spells instead of learning other witch's spells would find it really helpful. I have the five basic ingredients for every spell: Emotion, Energy, Intention, Ingredients, Belief. Now I am not saying intention is everything and neither are the ingredients but you aren't going to get chocolate chip cookies without chocolate chips if all you are using is intention.
Emotion: I share the belief that our emotions have access to our energy. It's why energy vampires break our emotional barriers and feed on our energy when our emotions are low. When I am trying to craft a spell, I think about what emotion would seem perfect for it. Ie. anger and malice for hexing, love and desire for love, etc. Of course remember, the stronger the emotion, the stronger the spell.
Energy: Energy is important as you don't want negative forces influencing your spell and that includes you. Therefore it is important to stay grounded while you are casting as well as projecting the energy you want. It is also important to cleanse your space so therefore you are able to have the energy you desire to linger instead of the other energies influencing your spell. More info on the importance of protection, cleansing, and grounding later. Some ways I set my energy for a spell is to play specific music while harnessing a specific emotion's intensity.
Intention: Intention is as I showed in my example earlier, very important. You don't want to let loose a bull without a corral. Set what you want to happen, set what you desire as the intention is one of the most important ingredients of spell work. What you can do is to circle things in a clockwise motion with a wand/athame or repeat the intention in your spell or your mind. This is why when you are setting the intention with your incantation, the specific words are needed to so that the spell doesn't run to the left when you are trying to make it run to the right.
Ingredients: As I showed in my example earlier, you need the proper ingredients for the proper outcome. Spell crafting in my opinion is like chemistry. Many herbs and crystals have many meanings but when they are put together specifically, you are able to make a stronger energy for one thing while weaken the others. Ie: amethyst and chamomile for calming, black tourmaline and lavender for protection, moonstone and mugwort for good dreams, coal and sage for cleansing. Of course, sometimes you need another ingredient to fine-tune the ingredients energies; like: citrine, pumpkin seed, and bay leaves for abundance.
Belief: the final ingredient is the most important. Belief or faith that your spell is going to work is a very important ingredient as it is needed to keep the spell in motion. Now this can go hand in hand with intention, however, belief in the spell and your spell crafting itself is just as important as it wont do anything for you if you don't expect it to. An egg would never hatch if it was never incubated thoroughly, therefore you must always have faith in yourself and your spells for it to work, otherwise it's not going to be a fulfilling spell.
Yeesh, rereading all my work that I wrote for this post and I realized I just wrote this post in an essay's format. I'm not trying to take the fun out of spell crafting, this is just my thought process on how I make my spells with my five main ingredients being: Emotion, Energy, Intention, Ingredient, and Belief. Although, rereading this post made me think I should put a disclaimer on this as some people may find it hard to use other witch's spells when they follow it word for word.
Disclaimer: Sometimes, the reason why other witch's spells might not work for everyone is because the person trying to use it is lacking in one of these ingredients.Another thing to think about is that the witch's that made those spells mostly made them for themselves and therefore those spells are tailored to their individual energy and not everyone else's so therefore you should twist a spell to fit you personally and your own needs as it is your craft and NOT ANYONE ELSES .
As Always,
Blessed Day, Blessed Morrow, Blessed Be,
-Jean

IRONHIDE'S DEFENSE
Tumblr media
To call upon Ironhide to protect you from unwanted threats and negativity. Inspired by Ironhide from the Transformers franchise.
Tumblr media
What You Will Need:
A small drawstring pouch, any color
1 hematite crystal or a few crystal chips
1 black tourmaline crystal or a few crystal chips
Salt
Black pepper
Optional: 1 spent shell casing, small
Tumblr media
💥 Settle in a quiet, comfortable place where you will not be disturbed or distracted. Have all of your spell ingredients nearby and ready to use.
💥 Start by closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, then exhale for 4 seconds. Repeat until your breathing is calm and even. Allow your muscles to unclench and relax as you breathe.
💥 Focus your thoughts on Ironhide and all the times he has protected his comrades in battle. How he has taken fire for them and given them cover when needed. How useful his arsenal of weapons has proven to be during each and every battle he was involved in. Focus on the strength he showed and the defense he provided.
💥 Open your eyes and grab the hematite crystal or crystal chips. These represent the silver of Ironhide’s body as well as how grounded he is in the heat of battle. The hematite will help you do the same during times of strife. Place the hematite in the pouch.
💥 Grab the black tourmaline crystal or crystal chips next. These represent the black of Ironhide’s vehicle form and the cover he offers his comrades. The black tourmaline will help you block any negativity that may come your way. Place the black tourmaline in the pouch.
💥 Now obtain a pinch or two of salt and drop it in the pouch. Salt, especially black salt, is good for repelling negativity and protecting the body, both physically and spiritually.
💥 Then obtain a pinch or two of black pepper and place it in the pouch. Just like salt, black pepper is great for protection and dispelling negativity. This will add an additional layer of both to the pouch.
💥 OPTIONAL: Grab the spent shell casing and add it to the pouch. The casing represents Ironhide as the Autobot’s weapons specialist. He will use any means necessary to keep his comrades safe, which includes you. Now close the pouch and tie it off.
💥 Hold the pouch in your dominant hand and say, “With this pouch, I am under the protection of Ironhide. His body will shield me from harm. His arsenal will grant me cover and peace of mind. I am safe behind the barrel of his guns.”
💥 The spell is now complete. Clean up your space and remember to carry the pouch with you when you need a little extra protection.

Welcome to Corvus Luna Creations!
Here at Corvus Luna, I make hand-made, custom and themed crystal bracelets, with more materials and designs being added frequently.
A Bit About CLC's Products
Apart from some pre-designed or single-material bracelets, all items are made-to-order, allowing you to get precisely what you want. With over 100 (at current count, estimated to be 127) materials, ranging from Afghan Jade to Yellow Tiger Eye, there is bound to be something to catch your fancy.
Are CLC Beads Real Crystal?
All beads, with the exception of a handful, are natural crystal, though some are enhanced (such as K2 Jasper) or dyed (such as the many colors of chalcedony). However, all are, at their core, natural crystal. Unless marked, I do not sell man-made 'crystals', as I believe them to have no innate 'powers'. However, due to demand, a handful of man-made beads are included in my stock, such as opalite, goldstone and imperial jasper. All beads that are in any way synthetic or altered from their natural state are marked as such, with all the information I can provide. If not marked they are, to my knowledge, entirely natural.
Why Regular and VIP?
Some beads are classed as VIP, meaning that they are of a higher quality and purity than the standard beads provided. This does not indicate inferiority of one or superiority of the other, to my mind, but rather a different form of the material. For example, VIP Black Tourmaline contains no inclusions, whilst regular Black Tourmaline contains inclusions of quartz and other minerals. Both are equally beautiful, but due to its rarity and purity, VIP does incur a slightly higher cost.
Are There Just Bead Bracelets?
Nope! Whilst, for the moment, bracelets are the focus, I do have the facility to make keyrings and, potentially, chokers and necklaces (though the latter two do need a little more practice). I do also have a selection of pendants available which can be incorporated onto a beaded project or are available on chain or cord. Pictures will be posted as soon as available. I also have several rings available as well as the facility to create anxiety rings in any of the materials I provide (once listed, the anxiety fidget rings shown serve as an example of what style I can make). For those interested in raw chips bracelets, I do have a handful of chip varieties available, and will be gradually increasing stock if demand warrants.
You Said Themed. What's That?
Some of us like to wear jewelry that is designed to be devotional or commemorate our favorite game or show. That's precisely what the themed offerings are. Some are designed by myself and my team of highly creative friends, to be reminiscent of, for example, Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons, Narnia, AtLA, etc. Others may be created with certain deities in mind, such as Loki, Hades, Persephone, Poseidon, and others. If none of the pre-designed offerings catch your eye, or you would like something custom designed to match your choice, this is 100% what the 'hand-made custom bracelets' concept is all about: a bracelet made specifically with you in mind.
Wait, You Said Deities. Does That Mean Any Deity?
Absolutely. As an Omnist, I fully believe we all have the right to worship any deity or being we feel warrants it. My own pantheon is far-reaching and much too varied to list, but suffice to say whether you seek something for Artemis, Lucifer, Hestia, Buddha, Yahweh or any other, you are completely free to request it. This is a no-judgement zone, and if you wish for me to create your bracelet with prayers to your deity in mind while doing so, I will happily oblige.
Does 'No-Judgement' Really Mean NO Judgement?
Completely. As a member of multiple communities that may be considered 'out of the ordinary', I believe we all are equal, no matter our race, creed, orientation, gender, or illness. Ally bracelets, such as LGBT+, Autism Awareness, Breast Cancer Awareness, and any other cause you may believe in, are fully welcome here, as are those for any religion, band, etc. If you require something made that I can make, it is of no consequence to me what your background is. The fact that you are human is all that matters.
Okay, I Read This Far. How Much?
Firstly, thank you for your patience. It means a lot!
Second, please see my Etsy or Ko-Fi (which will be linked in my Resources page once said page is fully operational) for prices. You will no doubt notice that prices differ. This is because each has a slightly different method of functioning, and therefore a different cost. Please feel free to purchase from whichever you feel most comfortable with.
Please note that every order comes with freebies, so you will be getting more than just your bracelet. These range from worry stones to tumbles to 'confetti bags' (bags of crystal chips chosen to fit as well with your bracelet as possible) and more. Sometimes, there will even be wish bottles or charms!
Thirdly, if you do purchase: My deepest thanks to you. You are helping to support my dream to become an independent creator, something I have wanted to be for many years. If you are unable to purchase: My thanks to you for your time. I hope that you will share Corvus Luna with your friends so that the Raven may spread its wings and soar.

Creative Ways To Use Gemstone Chips In Your Home Decor

DIY Gemstone Coasters: Functional Elegance for Any Room
Gemstone chip coasters are an easy and visually striking project that combines functionality with beauty. Simply mix gemstone chips into resin molds shaped like coasters and allow them to set. This type of decor not only protects your surfaces but also adds a splash of color and texture that’s perfect for any room. Choose stones like amethyst or rose quartz for a soft, calming effect or mix multiple types for a vibrant, eclectic look.
Beyond their protective purpose, gemstone coasters make fantastic gifts, adding a personal touch that’s both practical and thoughtful. For added effect, pair each coaster with matching drinkware or small decorative trays, which creates a cohesive look that elevates any table setting. Not only will these gemstone coasters impress guests, but they’ll also add a chic, handcrafted touch to your decor.

Gemstone Candle Holders: Illuminate with Crystal Energy
Create beautiful, gemstone-embedded candle holders to enhance the ambiance in any space. By gluing gemstone chips onto a candle holder’s exterior or embedding them into candle wax, you can create unique lighting pieces that reflect beautiful, multicolored light when candles are lit. Opt for stones like citrine, which is known for positivity, or black tourmaline, a grounding crystal, to elevate the atmosphere in your home.
Gemstone candle holders are a wonderful way to infuse both color and calming energy into your home. They’re perfect for yoga spaces, meditation corners, or a serene addition to your bedroom decor. Pair them with scented candles for a complete sensory experience that soothes the mind and uplifts the soul.

Decorative Jars and Bowls: Add Colorful Accents
Fill small glass jars or bowls with gemstone chips to create colorful decorative accents that bring a natural element indoors. These pieces look fantastic on coffee tables, bookshelves, or even bathroom counters. Consider grouping different stones by color or mix complementary shades for a dynamic visual effect. Clear glass containers allow the stones to shine, while colored glass adds an extra layer of vibrancy.
Decorative jars filled with gemstone chips not only brighten up the room but can also be repurposed easily if you decide to use the gemstones for another project. A bowl of amethyst or rose quartz on a desk, for example, brings a calming energy and a splash of color to workspaces, while a jar of green aventurine or turquoise can create a refreshing and uplifting feel in the kitchen or entryway.

Gemstone Mirrors: Reflect Light and Energy
For a truly unique statement piece, use gemstone chips to frame mirrors. Attach gemstone chips around the edge of a mirror frame to create a one-of-a-kind, eye-catching accent for entryways, bathrooms, or bedrooms. This gemstone mirror will not only be a functional piece but will also serve as a conversation starter and add a touch of luxury to any room.
Mirrors framed with gemstone chips work especially well in small spaces, as they reflect light and make rooms appear larger. Choose crystals with properties that align with your intentions, such as clear quartz for clarity or rose quartz for love, so that the mirror becomes not only a decor item but also a source of positivity and intention in your home.

Plant Toppers: Bringing Nature Together
Using gemstone chips as plant toppers is an easy way to bring a bit of color and shine to indoor plant arrangements. Scatter gemstone chips on top of the soil in potted plants to enhance the look of your greenery while adding an element of natural energy to your plants. Stones like green aventurine or moss agate complement plant colors beautifully, adding depth and contrast.
Gemstone plant toppers serve a dual purpose: they enhance the aesthetic of the plant and may provide energetic benefits as well. Place them in areas like your windowsill, bathroom, or kitchen where natural light can interact with the gemstones, creating a stunning visual effect. Plant toppers are also a fantastic conversation starter for guests and bring a bit of extra personality to your home.
Conclusion Incorporating gemstone chips into your home decor is a fantastic way to bring a touch of natural beauty and personal style into your space. From enhancing the ambiance with candle holders to creating unique decorative bowls and mirrors, gemstone chips offer endless possibilities for creative expression. Whether you’re crafting DIY pieces or simply adding gemstone chips to existing decor, these tiny treasures have a way of transforming any space with their unique energy and charm.

Dreamy Opal Rings for Modern Brides
While diamonds are classic and flashy, a lot of brides are looking for unique diamond rings in Virginia Beach. Opals are beautiful gemstones and offer a one-of-a-kind feel along with a mystifying iridescent sparkle and shine.
These gemstones are much more affordable than diamonds making them great for unconventional brides on a budget.
Reasons to love opals
One of the main reasons why a lot of brides tend to prefer an opal necklace in Virginia Beach is that these gemstones offer a beautiful shine and shimmer without too many added details.
Opals are the October birthstone and come steeped in history and culture. Along with this, these gemstones also have a wide range of shades where white opals are quite common and black opals are rare and valuable.
Just keep in mind that opal tourmaline jewelry in Virginia Beach is highly fragile and can easily scratch or chip if handled roughly.
Make sure you keep your gemstone safely away before cleaning, cooking, gardening, swimming, showering, or heading out for any activities. Keep in mind that opals are smooth gemstones and need to be handled gently.
While lab-made opals are tougher than natural gemstones, you still need to care for them. Avoid exposing your gemstones to any harsh chemicals, abrasives, and detergents as they can corrode the metal band and ruin the gemstone.
Opals make beautiful heirloom pieces if cared for properly. Never submerge your gemstones in water and store them safely away when cleaning, cooking, gardening, swimming, showering, or heading out for any activities.
Your opal ring can look stunning with a simple band or with filigree work and ornate details, it all depends on the type of style you choose. Whether you pick something modern, vintage-inspired, fashion-forward, or contemporary you can find something to suit your needs.
Take your ring every couple of months to a professional to clean, repair, and maintain it so that it looks new and shiny for years to come.
Wrapping Up
Some brides choose to set their opal center stones with smaller diamond side stones or a halo of diamonds for added shine and protection. You can also choose a prong, solitaire, or bezel setting that will safeguard your stone.
While platinum and yellow gold go great with your opal ring, rose gold offers a romantic and elegant feel along with making your gemstone stand out and pop.
