i think the people attempting to make something "lynchean" outside of david lynch somewhat all failed because they tried to make something they were not, while david lynch was purely making something he profoundly was. his best works are uncorrupted versions of his own artistry. lynchean copycats cannot even be called lynchean, due to their lack of originality and truth to their own artistry.

the first movie they made of twilight is still so good to me. the blue filter, low temperature finish of the visuals, the awkwardness, the soundtracks, camera work... i have a deep attachment to it cause it really felt like being bella for so long. i can't fathom people mocking this character out of proportions. she's literally just a silly teenager who lacks confidence.

the first god ever made up, or having been ever prayed to, was a woman. i am convinced that the first deity humankind tried to find comfort, wisdom, and peace in was a woman. i can't fathom how religion depicted a sole creator as a man, it goes against all logical instincts we have. because the first god who birthed and fed us, kept us warm and held us, was a woman.

all things considered, i start to believe that cynicism and the perpetual quest for entertainment as regards to politics strongly enable the suppression of freedom and liberties. if people keep taking the men they put in charge as endless source of memes and mockery instead of acknowledging them as those who have true institutional power over the rest of the population, then you just pave the way to fascism. the lack of seriousness with all things political, but most of all with civic rights. human rights. has led us to a situation where you cannot pretend to be surprised. you can't wake up and say how did this happen.
